James Cameron likens Avatar to Lord of the Rings

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron has likened ‘Avatar’ to the ‘Lord of the Rings’ franchise.
The 67-year-old filmmaker helmed the record-breaking 2009 sci-fi movie – but James only committed to making more films after reaching a specific agreement with 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the money-spinning original.
He shared: “What I said to the Fox regime at the time was, ‘I’ll do it, but we’ve got to play a larger game here. I don’t want to just do a movie and do a movie and do a movie. I want to tell a bigger story’.
“I said, ‘Imagine a series of novels like ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ existed, and we’re adapting them.’ Now, that was great in theory, but then I had to go create the frickin’ novels from which to adapt it.”
James eventually committed to making ‘The Way Of Water’, the long-awaited second film in the franchise. But he initially questioned whether it was the right thing to do.
He told Empire magazine: “I had to think long and hard whether I even wanted to make another ‘Avatar’ film, because it was kind of ours to lose.
“When you’ve done something that’s been that transcendent in terms of success, do you really want to go try and do that again? There’s a lot of pressure on it. I thought about it for a good two years before we finally made a deal.”
James previously insisted that ‘Avatar’ remains as relevant now as it ever was.
The acclaimed filmmaker – who also directed ‘Titanic’ – said: “We’ve got climate change, we’ve got deforestation, our relationship with nature is more at risk than it’s ever been, and ‘Avatar’ is about those things, but it also is a timeless film.
“Some people criticise the stories for being too simple. It wasn’t that simple – it was universal. It was something that everybody everywhere could understand and emotionally related to.”

Freida Pinto realised her ‘dream’ by making Mr. Malcolm’s List

OHMYGOSSIP — Freida Pinto has achieved “a dream” by making ‘Mr. Malcolm’s List’.
The 37-year-old actress stars alongside Sope Dirisu in the new period drama, and Freida is thrilled that they’ve managed to transform the story from a YouTube short into a feature film.
Asked what it’s like to have been part of the journey, the actress told Screen Rant: “A little bit of a dream come true, because when we made the short film, it was four years before we made the feature film. And every year we thought we’d be shooting the feature film, and then another year went by and another year went by. You’re like, ‘Are we ever going to make this? Or is this just going to remain one of those distant dreams; something that never ended up happening?’
“But I don’t really remember feeling totally disheartened. Because somewhere in there, I just knew that we were onto something beautiful and onto something magical, and that it was going to happen.”
Meanwhile, Freida recently confessed to accepting “stereotypical” roles earlier in her career because she wanted “exposure”.
The actress shot to global stardom after appearing alongside Dev Patel in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ – but Freida admits to making some regrettable decisions after her breakthrough success.
She said: “They constantly send you the more stereotypical, exotic roles and you look at it and you barf and you go, okay, I guess I’ve gotta do this one just because I’ve gotta make money or, yeah, I’ve gotta do this one just because I want exposure. And I think everything in the end pays off.
“So I look back at those roles and I go, am I necessarily proud of my performance in this? Or, you know, am I proud of what I did? And I think the answer is that I’m not proud, but I’m really glad I did them because now, the work that I do, the pride that I feel and every little thing that I put in a big role or a small role is so huge because the choice was entirely mine.”

Ashley James got ‘catcalled’ when she was pregnant

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley James got “catcalled” when she was pregnant.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star, 35, detailed how she endured street harassment while expecting her son Alfie, 18 months, and explained that she thought she would “get a break” from unwanted comments while pregnant while on .
Speaking on Heart’s ‘Dirty Mother Pukka’ podcast, she told hosts Anna Whitehouse and Polly Hazelwood: “I was still catcalled even pregnant. I thought, not that anyone should be catcalled, but I thought at least being severely pregnant, you’d get a break. Nope, nope. And what I realised is that it didn’t matter if I was breastfeeding because these are the same comments that started when I was 13 years old. They just hate women and hate women who have bodies.”
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant – who welcomed her son Alfie with husband Tom Andrews back in January 2021 – went on to explain that after the birth, negative “old feelings” she had been harbouring started to resurface.
She said: “I noticed it a lot during my postnatal days because I was breastfeeding, and actually that stirred up a lot of old feelings for me because my boobs grew five sizes and I’ve always had big boobs. Since the age of 13, I was a 30GG. I’ve always had boobs.
Ashley added: “They just hate women and hate women who have bodies. And if you’ve got big boobs as all this, you know you’re s***** or sexual or promiscuous.”
She also said: “Why was my body bad? So then I started to wear really quite frumpy clothing and my mum even being like, ‘Actually, I wouldn’t even wear this but it taught me my body was bad and my body was shameful and if I wanted to be taken seriously and if I wanted to be seen as intelligent, I had to almost reject femininity and reject my body and it also made me quite misogynistic and I had so much internalised misogyny because I saw makeup and beauty and anything a bit feminine and frivolous.”

Andrew will kiss Coco on Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew will kiss Coco on the terrace on Monday night’s (04.07.22) episode.
The 27-year-old estate agent set out his desire to “see what happens” and put himself first while pursuing the Casa Amour bombshell, 27, in t
While in the beach hut, Andrew said: “Right now I’m not going to be thinking about Tasha. I’m going to be thinking about myself for once. At the end of the day I wanna be happy so, I’m definitely going to speak to Coco, we’ll see what happens.”
Andrew- who is coupled up with Tasha – invited Coco up to the terrace for a chat.
As they got more comfortable, Andrew told her: “I did want to talk to you, as I know we had a chat this morning. You know you are my type and I definitely wanna get to know you more.”
Coco replied: “Cute, why do you wanna get to know me?”
Andrew said: “I’m not going to lie, you’re a bit of me.”
During their chat, Coco confesses that Andrew would be the one her mother would like, and that they’d get on.
As they discuss their events of the day, hinting at a prior kiss earlier – done on a dare – in the episode.
Andrew told the brunette beauty: “Obviously we had a little kiss down there…”
Coco divulges that she liked the kiss and that he was a good kisser, prompting Andrew to ask: “Would you like to do it again, do you reckon?”
Coco replied: “Do you wanna do it again?”
With that green light to proceed, Andrew went in for another kiss with Coco. They were not the only couple to venture up to the terrace for a “secret” kiss as Dami, 26, – who is coupled up with Indiyah, who is back in the main villa- and Summer, 22.
After they get up there, Summer asked: “Do you feel sneaky up here?”
Dami replied: “Well, we didn’t crawl in so it’s fine.”
Summer said: “It’s a secret but it’s not a secret,” before shooting her shot, asking: “Would you say I’m your type?”
Dami took his presence as a sign of his interesting, telling her: “Yeah, I wouldn’t really be up on the terrace if you weren’t my type.”
Summer then teased Dami into reading her mind, which he felt she was thinking
He said:”You fancy me. You feel like there is a bit of chemistry between us. You wanna kiss me. You wanna share a bed with me tonight. You still definitely want to kiss me.”
She notes his intense eye contact, before challenging him to a staring contest.
As they made eyes at each other, he said: “If you lose, just shoot your shot,” before they lock lips.

Busted rejected ‘lame’ reality TV offers

OHMYGOSSIP — Busted rejected a lot of “lame” reality TV offers which risked ruining the band.
The ‘Year 3000’ pop rockers – who split in 2005 before James Bourne and Matt Willis formed supergroup McBusted with McFly in 2014, followed by an actual reunion with bandmate Charlie Simpson a couple of years later – turned down plenty of pitches before they got back together.
Singer James told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “We care a lot about our band. Before Busted came back by way of the supergroup Busted and before we knew if Charlie Simpson would do it again, we were getting a lot of offers to do things.
“But a lot of those offers were really lame offers, the kind you get if you have no direction or if you don’t know what you want for yourself.
“Just lame celebrity-driven offers. If we had taken those offers we would have ruined our band.”
Bassist Matt has appeared on a number of reality shows including the likes of ‘Celebrity MasterChef’, and he even won ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ back in 2006.
However, James has insisted some musicians simply chase fame and “knacker” their bands by focusing more on being a celebrity.
He added: “There’s a lot of people in bands that become celebrities, and they just knacker their bands into the ground because they are not real musicians.”
Meanwhile, Matt himself has admitted he’s turned down ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ “a few times” because he’s “terrified” of the huge audience.
No amount of money would persuade the ‘You Said No’ hitmaker to hit the ballroom because he would buckle under the “pressure” of having to perform in front of millions of viewers.
He added: “You know something like 12 million people are watching – no thanks. There’s not a chance that I’d be able to cope with that kind of pressure.”

Stephanie Davis has high functioning autism

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Davis has been diagnosed with high functioning autism (HFA).
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress turned to alcohol to cope with her crippling anxiety but her reliance on booze led to her going to rehab in 2019 after hitting rock bottom, and it was there when she was given her diagnosis.
She told OK! magazine: “Before I was diagnosed with high-functioning autism, drinking was the only thing I knew.
“I needed to drink a bottle of wine before a night out because of my severe anxiety in social settings. I also needed to know the layouts of places. So when I’d walk into somewhere new I’d go, ‘Right, the toilets are there, the bar is there.’
“In the end, my anxiety got so bad I couldn’t leave the house without a drink. If something went wrong, I’d drink. I saw that as my medicine, it was my best friend, but in the end it destroyed me to the point I wanted to take my own life.
“I was so low after that I was drinking myself to death.
“I got dragged to rehab by my parents and they said, ‘Please help her because she’s going to die’. My mental health was so bad, it wasn’t just addiction. That’s when a consultant psychiatrist recognised my traits and told me I had high-functioning autism, as well as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
“When I got the diagnosis, I didn’t really understand what it meant, but as soon as I did my research I was like, ‘Whoa, that is me.’ Everything jumped out and it made me feel more at ease because I felt, ‘It’s not just me.’ It made me accept myself for the first time and start to look forward. It was the biggest relief.”
The 29-year-old star admitted she is concerned because she has recognised traits in her five-year-old son Caben – who she has with ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell – that she showed herself when she was young.
She said: “When I was little, my mum and dad would think I was spoilt because I’d have strops if they said we were going to do something and then changed the plans. I’d have a meltdown and I struggled so much.
“With Caben, I see little traits with him that are the same. I do think ‘Oh no’ because when I was at school I didn’t get any help. I was just the naughty kid, or the one not concentrating.
“I never had that support and I do wonder if things would have got so bad for me if I’d have had that support when I was younger. That’s why I’m keeping such a close eye on Caben, so I can get him help if he needs it.”

Martin Klebba joins Snow White as Grumpy

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Klebba has been cast in ‘Snow White’.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor has confirmed he will play Grumpy in Disney’s upcoming live action remake of its 1938 animated classic ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’, and he claimed the movie will be released in late 2023.
According to TheDisInsider.com, Klebba revealed at a Fan Expo in Denver: “I just got done filming ‘Snow White’. It’s going to be coming out late next year.
“And, of course, I play Grumpy. Gal Gadot is our witch, and Rachel Zegler will be our Snow White. So, come on down, it’ll be a good time.”
His comments come after Disney said the studio was “taking a different approach” to the dwarfs in the movie after ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Peter Dinklage blasted the remake and the fairytale’s “backwards” depiction of dwarfism.
Dinklage – who suffers from a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia – said: “There’s a lot of hypocrisy going on.
“Literally no offence to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White. But you’re still telling the story of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’. Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me.”
He added: “You’re progressive in one way but then you’re still making that f***ing backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f*** are you doing, man?
“Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soap box? I guess I’m not loud enough.”
In a statement, Disney said: “To avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film, we are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community.
“We look forward to sharing more as the film heads into production after a lengthy development period.”

James Cameron may not direct Avatar 4 and 5

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron may not direct ‘Avatar 4 and 5’.
The 67-year-old filmmaker has completed filming on ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ and ‘Avatar 3’ – which will be released in December 2022 and December 2024 respectively – and though two further films in the franchise are planned, the director has admitted he may want to “pass the baton” on taking the helm of the rest of the series because the movies are so “all-consuming”.
He told Empire magazine: “The ‘Avatar’ films themselves are kind of all-consuming.
“I’ve got some other things I’m developing as well that are exciting. I think eventually over time – I don’t know if that’s after three or after four – I’ll want to pass the baton to a director that I trust to take over, so I can go do some other stuff that I’m also interested in. Or maybe not. I don’t know.”
James – whose first ‘Avatar’ came out in December 2009 – is very excited about the overall messaging in the film series, and is particularly excited for fans to see the planned fourth movie.
He said: “Everything I need to say about family, about sustainability, about climate, about the natural world, the themes that are important to me in real life and in my cinematic life, I can say on this canvas.
“I got more excited as I went along. Movie four is a corker. It’s a motherf*****. I actually hope I get to make it. But it depends on market forces.
“Three is in the can so it’s coming out regardless. I really hope that we get to make four and five because it’s one big story, ultimately.”
‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is set over a decade after the original movie and features a cast including Kate Winslet, Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver.

James Buckley and his wife are writing an ‘honest’ book about family life

OHMYGOSSIP — James and Clair Buckley are penning a “hilarious” book on their family and life together.
The former ‘The Inbetweeners’ star and the ‘Vendetta’ star, both 34 – who share their life together with their two sons Harrison, 10, and Jude, eight, via their YouTube channel ‘At Home With the Buckleys’ – will display their “genuine humour and relatability” in the tome on all things family, showbiz and marriage.
Publisher Briony Gowlett told the Bookseller: “Like the thousands of other people who tuned in to Clair and James’ videos to get them through some of the grimmest points of lockdown, and continue to follow their content, I’ve loved watching how they tackle everything life throws at them – with genuine humour and relatability.
“Together they are a force and I’m excited to be working with such an incredibly talented and downright hilarious couple on their first book.”
James and Clair shared how “excited” to be working with Briony on their literary debut.
The couple said: “We are so excited to be working with Briony and the team at Radar on our first book! If you’re looking for a window into the glamorous, jet-set lifestyles of the rich and famous, then… well, you should probably pick something else to read.
“But we do have some great stories from when we were cool – you know, pre-kids – the sort that start with us backstage at the Stone Roses, eating chicken with Ian Brown.
“We still have some great stories post-kids, but they mainly start at the garden centre or the local soft play.
“Either way, we hope what we have created is a fun, honest little book about modern family life, with a clear message that, in the end, we’re all just working it out as we go along.”
The synopsis of the book – which is expected in September – reads: “Told from both sides, Clair and James share a collection of hilarious stories and comedy excursions from their early lives, years of cult TV fame, having children and setting up their YouTube channel.”

Strictly Coming Dancing bosses want Bruce Grobbelaar in the ballroom

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruce Grobbelaar is reportedly one of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ team’s top picks for the next series.
The former Liverpool FC goalkeeper is among the dream cast memebrs for the BBC One’s star studded Latin and ballroom competition – which features a judging panel of Craig Revel-Horwood, Anton Du Beke, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse – and it’s said producers are hoping to get the 64-year-old retired footballer on board.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Bosses are determined to get Grobbelaar to sign on the dotted line.
“Even getting him to agree to a meeting was a mission but so far he’s dragging his heels.
“He’s made it clear the only way he will sign up is if they agree a big money package. Producers are willing to splash out to get him but have a limit as to how much they can spend.”
Bruce – who gained a reputation for his distracting ‘spaghetti legs’ during the Red’s 1984 European Cup penalty shoot out, believed to have led to their victory against Roma – is not the only name reportedly on the producers’ wish list.
Television personality and chef Gino D’Acampo was dubbed as someone with “universal appeal”, according to reports.
An insider claimed: “They view Gino as someone who has universal appeal, who is up for a laugh and more than capable of keeping audiences entertained.”
Meanwhile, ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ presenter Emma Willis previously threw her hat in the ring to compete for the glitter ball trophy – labelling it her “dream” – but expressed hesitancy about the level of “commitment” needed.
She said: “You’ve got to commit, and that’s the thing, you either go hard or go home. It has to be full commitment across the board.”
And Dawn French has also voiced her interest in taking part but didn’t want to be made to “silly things” on the dance floor.
The comedy legend explained: “I fear I would be regarded as the funny one and made to do silly things. I take dancing seriously and I would like to do proper dancing.”

Love Island star Dami Hopes accuses Luca Bish of holding Gemma Owen hostage

OHMYGOSSIP — Dami Hope accused Luca Bish of holding Gemma Owen “hostage” on ‘Love Island’.
The microbiologist and fishmonger clashed on Monday night’s episode (06.07.22) of the ITV2 dating show, as Dami called out Luca for being “fake” in the villa.
With their respective partners currently in Casa Amor, the boys have been introduced to new bombshells, and there has been some friction between the Islanders.
Dami – who has been with Idiyah Polack – kissed newcomer Summer Botwe, and he later told the boys he wanted to “be open to the [Casa Amor] experience”.
However, he added: “I still feel like it’s unlikely for anyone to change my connection with Indiyah.”
Luca then teased: “Mate you’ve kissed her now, you can hug her [Summer] in bed.”
Dami wasn’t happy with the way he felt Luca was trying to “egg him on” to see how things go with Summer.
He said: “I know you want to win this Love Island show, but relax man. I just feel like you’re fake.”
He insisted he’s happy to let people “be free”, as he took aim at Luca’s actions in the villa.
He said: “I don’t need to hold a girl hostage just because I’m afraid of what she’s going to do. I can let the girl be free.”
Luca seemed confused and asked who he’d “held hostage” during his time on the show, and Dami wasn’t holding back.
He responded: “You are literally protecting her from seeing if there’s something potentially for her.
“I see how you are with Gemma, I just feel like you should be like that all the time, stop doing one thing with us. Just be like that all the time.”
Andrew Le Page tried to get the boys to “kiss and make up” after their row, and Dami apologised for calling Luca fake, while still insisting he didn’t like the way he “played up” in front of other people.
‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

EastEnders recreate Dot Cotton’s first ever scene to mark anniversary of June Brown’s debut

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ recreated Dot Cotton’s very first scene to mark the anniversary of her Albert Square debut.
On Monday night (04.07.22), Natalie Cassidy entered the cafe as Sonia Fowler in a brown coat and uttered the same line Dot – played by late soap legend June Brown – delivered back in 1985.
Sonia said: “Give us a tea Kath, and a glass of water so I can take a paracetamol.”
It almost exactly mirrored Dot’s first appearance 37 years ago, when she entered the cafe in a similar coat and called out to George ‘Loty’ Holloway (Tom Watt).
In that scene, Dot said: “Give us a tea, Lofty, and a glass of water so I can take a paracetamol.”
Natalie admitted she was “really honoured” to be paying tribute to June, who sadly died in April aged 95.
In a video on the ‘EastEnders’ Twitter account, she said: “I’m really, really honured becuase it’s the anniversary of Dot’s first appearance. Sonya’s going to come into the cafe and create a really special moment, we hope.”
She revealed even the costume department got involved to find a nice way to honour Dot without going too far.
She explained: “We’ve even got a little mac on today, just as a little nod to Dot’s character. Obviosly I can’t come in dressed as Dot because that would look really silly on the show, but we were thinking – even costume got involved and said maybe Sonia could have a little shopping bag like Dot used to have.
“So maybe when I come in I can have it over my arm. Just a little nod to the greatness that was June Brown.”
The show were among those to pay tribute to June after her death, hailing her alter ego as “one of the most iconic characters” in the soap’s history.
They said at the time: “There are not enough words to describe how much June was loved and adored by everyone at EastEnders, her loving warmth, wit and great humour will never be forgotten.
“June created one of the most iconic characters in Dot Cotton, not just in soap but in British television, and having appeared in 2,884 episodes, June’s remarkable performances created some of EastEnders’ finest moments.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mona Hammond has died aged 91.
The Jamaican-British actress – known for her TV roles such as Blossom Jackson in ‘EastEnders’ and Aunt Susu in ‘Desmond’s’ – has passed away, leaving behind an incredible legacy.
Marcus Ryder – chair of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) – confirmed the news and tweeted: “It is with sadness that I wake up to the news Mona Hammond has died

She played the Jackson family matriarch on ‘EastEnders’ from 1994 to 1997 before making a brief return in October 2010.
She had actually appeared in Albert Square before, having played a small role as Michelle Fowler’s midwife in 1986.
She also delighted sitcom fans as Auntie Susu in ‘Desmond’s’ from 1990 to 1994, and reprised her role in spin-off ‘Porkpie’ from 1995 to 1996.

Hugh Bonneville: Downton Abbey has run its course

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Bonneville doubts that another ‘Downton Abbey’ movie will be made.
The 58-year-old actor played Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham in both the period drama TV series and the two movies but believes that the franchise has “probably run its course”.
Speaking to Screen Rant, Hugh said: “This is a fictional world, because I don’t think there will be another one. I was thinking for a while that (there) would be; we’re all up for it, and let’s go. But I think it’s probably run its course now. And it’s been a fantastic 12 years on and off that we’ve visited this family. But I think probably enough is enough.”
The ‘Paddington’ star continued: “Were it to carry on, I don’t know where it would go next. On the basis that each of the last few iterations has been roughly taking place in a year, or during a year, we’d be in 1929.
“What happens then? It’s the Wall Street crash, and the gaiety of the 20s is going to come crashing to a halt. So, it’d be potentially pretty gloomy. I don’t know. And as for Robert? Well, he’s gonna die. So, a good death would be good.”
Hugh admitted that filming on the sequel ‘Downton Abbey: A New Era’ was a “huge jolly” as several cast members got to travel to the south of France.
He said: “We had to quarantine for a week which was a little bit annoying but it was a pretty nice week to spend by a pool.
“Once we got on set it was hard work because it was hot but it was good and it was very satisfying. There was a time when we feared we weren’t going to get to France at all and we would have to cobble together some villas in Britain and the light wouldn’t have been the same.
“We very fortunate and yes it was a huge jolly.”

Taron Egerton says new Kingsman movie will begin filming in 2023

OHMYGOSSIP — Taron Egerton has confirmed that the latest ‘Kingsman’ movie is set to start filming next year.
The 32-year-old actor is set to reprise his role as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin in ‘Kingsman: The Blue Blood’ and suggested that it could head into production in 2023 before adding that the decision would be made by “grown-ups”.
Speaking on the Jess Cagle Podcast with Julia Cunningham, Taron said: “My understanding is that we are to be shooting the third installment in my saga I believe next year.
“But you know, don’t listen to what I say because I really don’t know. You know, they’re grown-up decisions.”
The new film had been due to be shot following the prequel ‘The King’s Man’ but director Matthew Vaughn revealed that plans had been changed.
He explained: “That was sort of the plan, and I was ready to go, but let’s just say the world got turned upside down.”
It was previously suggested by Zygi Kamasa – the CEO of Vaughn’s Marv Films production company – that the director had “something like seven more” of the spy films in the pipeline.
Kamasa said: “We want to grow the business and the output. We have a ‘Kingsman’ TV series in the works and there are two-three other franchises that are being developed alongside the ‘Kingsman’ world.”
Vaughn expressed a desire to turn the ‘Kingsman’ series into a franchise to rival James Bond by exploring conflicts such as World War II.
He said: “If we go down the TV route we can explore the rise of Hitler, then go into World War II.
“For me, it would be amazing to finally get to the Cold War.”

Davina McCall has ‘always fancied’ writing erotic fiction

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall has “always fancied” penning an erotic novel.
The ‘Masked Singer’ judge admitted she would love to write a racy book “under a pseudonym”, and she thinks she’s got the literary talents to make it work.
Speaking to her boyfriend Michael Douglas on their podcast ‘Making the Cut With Davina McCall and Michael Douglas’, she said: “I’ve always fancied the idea of writing an erotic novel under a pseudonym at some point. I think I’d be really good at it.”
The 54-year-old star cited an unnamed pal of hers who had made “a fortune” from writing a boink fest and how much she envied her.
Davina said: “She’s left her job and now makes a fortune from erotic literature, and I am so jealous.”
The original ‘Big Brother’ presenter admitted she would have to “hide them” from her kids – daughters Holly, 20, Tilly, 18, and son Chester, 15, with her ex Matthew Robertson – because the covers tended a bit much.
Davina added: “I’ve got two of her books but I’ll have to hide them from my kids. The covers are too obviously erotic.”
Recently, the ‘Language of Love’ host admitted she didn’t see her 18-year marriage to Matthew as a “failure” and how the perimenopause impacted her professional life.
She said: “That there’s no such thing as failure if you learn something along the way. “With Matthew and me, I don’t see our relationship as a failure. “We were married for 18 years – that was a successful marriage. We didn’t go the distance, but we did well, and we made three great kids.”
“When I became perimenopausal at work I didn’t want to talk to anyone about it … I was doing a live TV show called ‘Stepping Out’ and I was forgetting the names of contestants and making mistakes on the autocue, which I’d never done before.
“One day, the producer came into my dressing room and said, ‘Are you okay? You don’t seem yourself’ and I said ‘Oh, I’m fine.’ Then, when she left, I just cried. I thought ‘What’s happening to me?'”
