Kevin Feige: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a tribute to Chadwick Boseman

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Feige says ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is a “tribute” to the late Chadwick Boseman.
The actor played the title role in the 2018 superhero film ‘Black Panther’ but died of colon cancer in 2020 at the age of 43 and now Marvel Studios president Kevin, 49, has said that the upcoming sequel must serve as a testament to what the tragic star “brought to the world.”
He told ETOnline: “It’s a very important thing that ‘Wakanda Forever’ not only brings the same level of joy and inspiration that the first ‘Black Panther’ film did, but it also is a tribute to what he did, and what he brought not to just to us, but to the world.”
The upcoming action thriller will also see Lupita Nyong’o return to her role of supervilliain Nakia , while Letitia Wright takes on the leading role of princess Shrui and both actresses explained that they want to “carry on” the legacy left behind by Chadwick.
Letitia said: “It’s definitely a family, it was a family from the very beginning. The family has extended a little bit, we have new members, but like Lupita said, it’s a great alignment of souls and people who really care and people who really want to honor the legacy that we are trying to carry on of what Chadwick started, and we’re really just grateful to have each other.”
Their thoughts were echoed by co-star Winston Duke – who takes on the role of M’Baku in the film – as he noted that the “magic” in the movie is rooted in the sense of family
He said: “The magic of ‘Black Panther’ is really deeply rooted in the sense of family and the collective/ And the collective gets to express the individual — the individual pain, the individual trials, the individual, things that they go through. Art really reflects life here, life really reflects the art. So, you get to see us as a collective, expressing our individual grief over losing one of our cohorts, one of our collaborators and a really great friend. And it was very emotional.”
‘Black Panther’ is set for release in on November 11.

Billy Porter ‘always intended’ to direct a representational movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Porter “always intended” to direct a representational movie.
The 52-year-old actor – who is openly gay – is making his directorial debut with new rom-com ‘Anything’s Possible’ about a transsexual teen and explained that it has been “magical” to be able to helm a project about queer representation.
He said: “It’s magical. It has always been my intention. I have been mentored by people who’ve made space for me, and it has always been my goal to be able to do that and pay it forward. The whole thing feels redemptive. All of it. I was told my queerness would be my liability, and it was for a really long time, and now it ain’t. Now, I get to do what I want to do because I chose myself, I chose my own authenticity, and I chose to be truthful and honest, no matter what and no matter where the chips would fall. I hope that, in setting myself free, others will be set free too..”
The former ‘Pose’ star went on to explain that he has learned to “trust his instincts” and although there is “a lot of bull****” around move–making, he still “loves” the process of directing a movie.
He told Collider: “What I learned is that I know a lot more than I thought I knew, and I need to trust my instincts, at all times, because my instincts are right. That doesn’t mean that I’m not open to collaboration. I love the directing process. I have to figure out how to navigate all the other bullshit that’s around it. There’s a lot of bullshit around the process of movie-making. There just is a lot. That’s just the nature of the beast. So, I feel like I’ve gained some skills and craft in navigating that.”
‘Anything’s Possible’ is available to stream on Prime Video.

Lauren Goodger: I need to understand why my daughter died for my own sanity

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger “needs to understand” why her baby daughter died.
The 35-year-old reality star was left heartbroken when newborn daughter Lorena died just two days after her birth on July 8 following a “textbook pregnancy” and is having an autopsy carried out for her “own sanity.”
She said: “I went into hospital thinking I would come home with a baby girl but I came home with nothing. Lorena was a healthy baby and it was a textbook pregnancy. They think her oxygen may have been restricted because she had two knots in her cord but normally babies can still get enough oxygen despite this. This is why I am having an autopsy. I need to understand medically how she died for my own sanity.”
The former ‘TOWIE’ star – who is also mum to Larose, twelve months, with partner Charles Drury, 24, – added that the tragedy has been the “most traumatic” event of her life and is speaking out because she wants to help other parents who are going through the same sort of thing.
She told The Sun newspaper: “This has been the most traumatic experience of my life. Since Lorena passed away, I have had so many messages from other women who have gone through this too. I want to talk about her death to help other parents out there going through this. I want them to know they aren’t alone.
“Each day I take it as it comes. Without Larose I would not be here. She is getting me through every day. I’ve been inundated with messages from people. There have been people in the public eye who have messaged me privately, people I know who wouldn’t have said hello to me if I saw them.”

Christine Lampard: Being a mum has made me anxious about my health

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine Lampard says that becoming a mother has made her anxious about her health.
The 43-year-old TV presenter is married to Everton FC manager Frank Lampard, 44, and has Patricia, three, and Freddie, seven months with him but admitted that while she “tries to be chilled” about things, she is a “constant worrier” now that she is a mum.
She said: “I try and be chilled but it’s made me much more anxious. It’s created a form of health anxiety in me. Suddenly I think, ‘I can’t be ill because I’ve got to be here for you’. I have a constant worry about them – if I could zip them up in a NASA spacesuit it would be wonderful.
I’ve become that mum, I think, ‘You’re so precious, I’m here to protect you. I’ve become a bit more stressed but it’s all for the love of them. ”
The ‘Loose Women’ star continues to anchor the lunchtime chat show in regular rotation with fellow presenters Ruth Langsford, Kaye Adams, and Charlene White and is also set to cover hosting slots on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’ over the summer but feels “lucky” to have a good balance between home and work life.
Speaking on The Daily Mirror’s ‘Pride of Britain’ podcast, she added: “I’m trying to have a good balance.Frank’s away and my family are back home so I have to be well-planned. The beauty of live telly is you know when you’re finished. I dip in and do my bits but I’m mostly at home. I know I’m lucky to be able to have that balance, you can feel like you’re pulling in all directions, and that struggle’s real for so many people

BBC star Jan Leeming ‘tackled to the ground’ in cashpoint mugging

OHMYGOSSIP — Jan Leeming was mugged at a cashpoint.
The 80-year-old presenter – who is best known for her long stint as a BBC newsreader in the 1980s – was in a sleepy village in Provence, France over the weekend when she was “tackled to the ground” and took to Twitter on Sunday (24.07.22) to tell fans about the incident.
She tweeted: “Horrid experience. Attacked close to ATM. Youngish man seemed pleasant. He asked me if I spoke French and extended his hand. I thought it was a friendly gesture. Held out [my] hand like a first-rate idiot. That’s when he tackled me to the ground.”
However, the former ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here’ star went on to reassure her followers that the attackers did not take anything valuable and while the whole ordeal was “horrid”, she is now “absolutely fine.”
She added: “Bag was over my arm. He didn’t get it. It was horrid but well orchestrated with a getaway car. My head was very close to an oncoming car. Please don’t worry. I’m absolutely fine – not traumatized one little bit. Just sore with a few bruises… Thank you all so much for your warmth and good wishes.”
The veteran broadcaster was inundated with messages of support on her social media but later explained that there is unlikely to be any legal action because she could not make out who the attacker was because he was wearing a mask.
She said: “He had on a Covid mask and the getaway car took a quick left turn so friends couldn’t see number plate. Police Municipale was closed. Hell will freeze before they find the culprits!”

The 37-year-old actor has joined previously announced cast members Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Everly Carganilla and Connor Esterson.
The latest movie in Robert Rodriguez’s popular franchise sees the children of the world’s greatest secret agents unwittingly help a powerful game developer unleash a computer virus that give him control of all the technology on the globe. The 54-year-old director explained: “My most rabid fanbase all these years, by far, has been my kid films. My ‘Spy Kids’ audience. These kids watch those movies over and over because they’re action films made for children and families, in particular at a time when they need empowerment.
“Netflix came to me because the ‘Spy Kids’ movies had done just so well on their service. They said ‘Could you make a series of films that do that?’ And I said, ‘I’d love to!'”
The movie marks Rodriguez’s second family film with the streaming giant after he helmed the 2020 picture ‘We Can Be Heroes’.

Andrea McLean collapsed in tears hours before going live on Loose Women

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrea McLean collapsed in tears hours before going live on ‘Loose Women’.
The 52-year-old star – who anchored the lunchtime chat show between 2007 and 2020 – explained that she had been “pushing herself” too hard when she ended up suffering burnout.
She said: “I was getting up at five in the morning, I was in the gym for half six, I was working out I was pushing myself really hard to be the fittest I’ve ever been,’ she said. ‘I wanted to be the most productive I’ve ever been. And, but there were two things happening.
‘One, I was worrying with stress. I was also becoming more and more exhausted. Until the point where I felt like I was short-circuiting.”
The former ‘GMTV’ weather girl – who is married to businessman Nick Feeney but has children Finlay, 21, and Amy, 16, from previous relationships – went on to explain that she went on air to do the show but upon returning home immediately discussed things with her hsuband and the pair went to counselling together.
Speaking on Metro.co.uk’s ‘Mentally Yours’ podcast, she added: “I was supposed to be on the TV in a couple of hours and I literally fell to the floor and started crying and I was so relieved that someone had called me out. And what happened next was eventually kind of pulled myself together and went on and did the show and everything else. And then I came home and said to my husband, we need to have a chat. And I told him everything that I’ve been feeling, and I was very fortunate in that I am in love with a human being who is aware of our need for communication and growth as anyone could wish for.
“His first reaction was, ‘As your husband, I’m horrified that I didn’t see this, how can I love you as much as I love you and not even know that this was happening?. So firstly, you need, you need help, and you need counselling, you need to go and speak to someone about all these feelings that you’re having. And then we need to have counselling together. So that I never miss this again!'”

Gemma Atkinson doesn’t want a ‘massive wedding’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Atkinson doesn’t want a “massive” wedding.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress has been engaged to ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Gorka Márquez. since 2021 and has three-year-old daughter Mia with him but while the pair have started the process of wedding planning, Gemma has insisted that a “glitzy” ceremony is the last thing they want.
She said: “We’ve started the process, although very laid back and very casually. We are slowly cracking on with it, but we’ve just been so laid back, it’s untrue.
“I’m the most chilled bride because as long as it’s just close family and friends, we wouldn’t want anything big. We know we don’t want a massive, big, glitzy occasion, just something nice and chilled.”
The 37-year-old star went on to explain that while she and Gorka will not be following in the footsteps of ‘Strictly’ professionals Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec -who staged three weddings in three different countries in an effort to appease different family members – the couple would like to buy a home in Gorka’s native Spain after the nuptials.
Gemma told OK! Magazine: “We went for lunch with them and Janette said: ‘We had one in Miami, one in Slovenia, and one in England.’ And I said: ‘How was it?’ And she went: “Don’t do it!, It’s too much hassle. Just do one and we’ll be there.’! But that’s the next venture, buying a house over there so Gorka’s family are able to drive and see us. Mia can count to ten and she says ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’ and ‘thank you’ in Spanish!”

Bruce Campbell stunned by Marvel’s success

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruce Campbell is stunned by the continued success of Marvel.
The 64-year-old actor made a cameo appearance as Pizza Poppa in the recent Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) blockbuster ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ and is astounded by the studio’s long run of success – but confessed that he wouldn’t want to be in a Marvel movie because of the huge demands of the fanbase.
Speaking to Collider, Bruce said: “A Marvel movie is always tricky if you’re in them, because you never know if you’re going to still be in them. Like if I was Benedict Cumberbatch, I’d be nervous that I was going to be cut out of ‘Doctor Strange’, because it’s a big storyline. It’s really a miniseries, all of these movies. They’re not individual movies.”
The ‘Evil Dead’ star – who also had cameo roles in Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy – continued: “Because I was talking about it, there’s a lot of exposition in ‘Doctor Strange’. I mentioned that to someone, and they go, I needed every bit of it. And I never thought of it that way, because I didn’t know the other 14 movies, the chronology. So I see how important it is to people.
“So people really, I mean, the fans of these Marvel movies, it’s an army of people. If I tweet anything associated with it, like I should just wake up in the morning, go ‘Marvel’ with a picture of myself and people, they go crazy. Because there’s so many fans of Marvel.”
Bruce added: “The ‘Evil Dead’ movies have a good low, strong pulse of a fandom. But you know, they’re small and humble. Marvel is massive. It’s amazing. They’ve really sustained it for 20 years now, since Spidey, the original Spider-Man. It’s a stunning run.”

Lupita Nyong’o: Black Panther sequel has been therapeutic

OHMYGOSSIP — Lupita Nyong’o says making ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ has been “therapeutic” following the death of Chadwick Boseman.
The 39-year-old actress reprises her role as Nakia in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) sequel and admits that making the flick has been a “powerful statement” following the tragic passing of Boseman – who played the lead role in the original film – in 2020 after a private battle with colon cancer.
Lupita told The Hollywood Reporter at San Diego Comic-Con: “To make this film against all odds is a powerful statement unto itself, and I am very proud that we did it.
“It was very therapeutic. It restored a sense of hope for me in making it, and I think we’ve expanded the world of Wakanda in ways that will blow people’s minds – not just Wakanda in ways that will blow people’s minds – not just Wakanda but the ‘Black Panther’ world. It’s gonna blow people’s minds, and I just cannot wait until it’s not a secret anymore.”
The film is set to be released in November and Lupita explained that Chadwick has never been far from the cast’s thoughts during production.
The ’12 Years a Slave’ star said: “It’s been a doozy of a few years for everybody.
“For us as a cast, having lost our king, Chadwick Boseman, that was a lot to process, and in many ways, we’re still processing it. When you lose someone, I don’t know when you stop missing them. And of course, we felt it so much, making this film without him.”
Lupita remained tight-lipped when asked about a moment in the film’s trailer that hints that somebody else will don the Black Panther suit.
She said: “Don’t you just love a good secret?”

Bruno Tonioli: I was playing a character on Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Tonioli says he was “playing a character” on ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’
The 66-year-old choreographer – who sat on the judging panel of the BBC ballroom dancing show from 2004 until 2020 –explained that on screen, his accent became “stronger” and that all expressions became “bigger” but admitted it was an effort to keep it up for two hours at a time.
He told The Daily Mail: ‘I’m playing a character. My accent becomes stronger, the facial expressions and body movements become bigger.
“You have to pump yourself up and keep it up for two hours. That’s so hard when you have all the added stress of the travel.”
The Italian-born star – who lives in West Hollywood – travelled back and forth for 14 years to appear on both ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in the UK and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in the US but the pandemic made his schedule impossible came to a mutual decision with the BBC that it was time to leave.
He added: “There is no animosity, it was a mutual decision with both of us saying, ‘Listen, this is not going to work like it used to’ I just couldn’t do the flying anymore. I don’t know how I survived that schedule. To be honest, it’s a miracle. I have no idea what it did to my health, don’t go there! There was a moment in the middle of a run when I blanked. I did not know where I was or what I was doing. It only lasted a second, then I saw the audience looking at me and it all came back to me.”
Bruno praised Anton Du Beke, who took over from Tonioli on the panel last year for making it his own.
He said: “He did a very good job because he made it his own.”

Josie Gibson is in ‘awe’ of the NHS after spending a night in hospital

The 37-year-old TV presenter – who is mother to three-year-old Reggie James with her ex-boyfriend Terry – had to take her son to the hospital to have metal wires put in his arm following a break – and thinks it is “amazing” that medical staff are able to keep going in a “crumbled system.”
She said: “I just spent a night in the hospital and I was just in awe of their 12-hour shifts. They were so short-staffed in theatre that Reggie’s surgeon – he’s just had to have metal wires in his arm – couldn’t have a lunch break. And I just think credit to them, how amazing to keep doing your job when you’ve got all this in a crumbled system. We need to fix it for them, it’s not fair on them.”
The ‘Big Brother’ winner went on to assure viewers that Reggie – who had broken a bone in his arm while playing at home – was “doing fine now” and said she “would have paid” for the surgert.

Jeremy Clarkson has rented a bull with ‘massive testicles’ to expand his cattle on his Diddly Squat farm

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Clarkson has rented a bull with “massive testicles” to expand his cattle on his Diddly Squat farm.
The 62-year-old presenter – who fronts Amazon docuseries ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ – rented Break-Heart Maestro in an attempt to boost his livestock and had hoped that “with a little bit of luck” his cows would all be “up the duff” at the same time.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “I’ve rented a bull. He has testicles the size of space hoppers, his name is Break-Heart Maestro. With a bit of luck, he’d get them all up the duff at roughly the same time, which would make calving easier. My cows came round the corner… their walk turned into am sashay!”
But according to the ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ host, Break-Heart “didn’t appear to be up for sex” and “chewed up the grass in his temporary new home and took in the views.”
According to Clarkson, one cow was so sexually deprived she tried to mount the bull instead.
He added: “She was thrusting away like a good ‘un.”
News of the rented bull comes just days after the former ‘Top Gear’ star announced that his Diddly Squat Farm pig had died in the heatwave that swept through England and Europe.
He wrote on Twitter: “Thankfully, the global warming is now over but tragically, its brief visit took the life of my big pig. RIP pig,”
Twitter users flocked to his tweet with angry responses, after Clarkson was downplaying the seriousness of the heatwave.
One user wrote: “Perhaps you will realise how serious this is then. How would you like it if your land was on fire and you were struggling to harvest enough food to keep your animals fed or winter, let alone anything else? I feel sorry for the proper farmers.”

Frank Skinner regrets ‘bullying’ Fantasy Football sketch mocking striker Jason Lee

OHMYGOSSIP — Frank Skinner deeply regrets ridiculing retired footballer Jason Lee on his TV show ‘Fantasy Football League’.
The stand-up comic and his comedy partner David Baddiel fronted the popular BBC series in the 1990s and they often mocked active players, pundits and managers in sketches.
Nottingham Forest striker Lee became a figure of fun due to his struggles scoring and his hairstyle with the duo depicting him as wearing a pineapple on his head and Baddiel at one point even dressing in blackface with the spiky fruit on his head.
Looking back, Skinner feels huge regret over the “bullying” jokes and the inappropriate blackface sketch.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, Skinner said: “I spoke to Dave about it recently, from a how-the-f***-did-that-ever-happen point of view.
“I still don’t know how it happened. I know why we took the p*** out of him, because I’d watched him on ‘Match of the Day’ missing several goals, so a sketch about him being unable to put a piece of paper into a bin worked.
“But when Dave walked out from makeup [in blackface] that night, I still don’t know why one or both of us… or someone there didn’t say what the f*** is happening?”
“I can’t look back on it now without seeing it as bullying. There was a big response to it. People started to send in loads of pictures of pineapples, and so it ran and ran and ran. Looking back, it was a bullying campaign. And it’s awful. And yeah, I’m ashamed of it.
“And we’ve said that to each other … It wouldn’t be too much to say we’re both deeply ashamed.”
Despite his shame, Skinner, 65, doesn’t think it is appropriate for him and best friend Baddiel, 58, to make a “big public apology” because he thinks it would be insincere.
He added: “We’ve never done the big public apology.
“Something doesn’t sit well with me. They look a bit like union card apologies, ‘I just need to keep working; I’ll apologise for anything, just let me keep working.’ I didn’t want to be part of that.
“There is no excuse involved, though, because there is no excuse. Because I’m blaming us. But something I never hear mentioned in any of this is that we had a representative from the BBC in the audience every week. The BBC watched the show before it went out and okayed it. They were supposed to be a guiding hand, not letting us f*** up. But that’s a side issue. It was a vendetta. An unintentional vendetta but still a vendetta.”
Baddiel has apologised for the blackface sketch on Twitter and in an interview with The Daily Telegraph newspaper, in which he said: “I regret, and apologise for, the makeup and costume, which however much it might have been in the show’s tradition of dressing up to look like footballers in a silly cartoon way, was also part of another very bad racist tradition.”
Lee, 51, has publicly criticised Baddiel and Skinner, and is disappointed that neither of them have ever reached out to him to say sorry for their offensive jokes.
Speaking in 2020, he said: “Baddiel and Skinner, did they realise the impact of what they were saying, how it affected so many people?
“Especially a hairstyle, you’re talking about ethnicity, a lot of black people would wear dreadlocks and feel deeply offended by someone who’s getting mocked for a similar hairstyle. The implications were far wider, and it wouldn’t happen today.”
“I never received an apology from Baddiel and Skinner.
“It’s never too late. I think that would be good for maybe my children to hear that, and it would show them that in today’s day and age people maybe are more remorseful, and people are having to look at how they act.”

Sarah Paulson to star in upcoming horror Dust

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Paulson has boarded the horror ‘Dust’.
The ‘Impeachment: American Crime Story’ actress is set to star in Searchlight Pictures’ upcoming Hulu Original flick, Deadline confirmed.
The Will Joines and Karrie Crouse-helmed movie follows “a woman who is trapped by increasingly perilous dust storms and is haunted by her past encounters with a threatening presence and takes extraordinary measures to protect her family.”
Principal photography will begin in the latter half of August.
Searchlight Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield commented: “Sarah is an extraordinary artist and we are thrilled to be working with her again.”
The 47-year-old star’s other upcoming gigs include starring in Bruce Norris’ film adaptation of his multi-award-winning play ‘Clybourne Park’.
Meanwhile, Sarah previously admitted she shouldn’t have worn a fat suit for her portrayal of Linda Tripp in ‘Impeachment: American Crime Story’.
The actress played the real-life civil servant who served a major role in exposing Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky in 1998 in the third season of the FX true crime anthology television series.
And she later reflected on the criticism she faced and how it’s important not to dismiss “fatphobia”, which is very “real”.
Speaking last year, she said: “It’s very hard for me to talk about this without feeling like I’m making excuses.
“I think fatphobia is real. I think to pretend otherwise causes further harm.
“And it is a very important conversation to be had.”
If she was asked to wear one again, she would decline.
She continued: “I think the thing I think about the most is that I regret not thinking about it more fully.
“And that is an important thing for me to think about and reflect on. I also know it’s a privileged place to be sitting and thinking about it and reflecting on it, having already gotten to do it, and having had an opportunity that someone else didn’t have. You can only learn what you learn when you learn it.
“Should I have known? Abso-f*****-lutely. But I do now. And I wouldn’t make the same choice going forward.”
However, the Emmy winner insisted it shouldn’t be “the entire responsibility” of the actor.
