James and Ola Jordan: Being fat has ruined our sex life

OHMYGOSSIP — Ola Jordan says gaining weight has made her sex life “worse”.
The 39-year-old dancer is married to fellow former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional James Jordan, 44, but the pair have admitted to piling on the pounds since quitting the show back in 2015, and she now finds sex “unexciting” because their “bellies get in the way”.
She said: “The sex life is definitely different, if not worse, because we are so fat and don’t want to move after a bag of crisps and a Chinese. The bellies get in the way of us when it comes to sex. And I’m a bit heavy now. It’s not as exciting.”
The TV stars – who welcomed their daughter Ella via IVF in 2020 – were known for their impressive routines on the BBC ballroom dancing show, but now James admits he and his wife are determined to “come out” of the situation together and will “support each other” as they try to get back in shape.
He told The Sun newspaper: “We’ve got into this position together, and hopefully we are going to come out supporting each other. Sex is definitely not better with the mum and dad bods. I can’t throw her about any more like I am used to doing.
“So we realise we need to switch up our eating habits to get back in shape. I would love to hold Ola over my head again. We know exactly why we’ve got bigger — we’ve eaten more and moved less. It’s bad that my gut just hangs over the top of my trousers, it’s like a proper old beer belly.”
It comes just two weeks after the couple went viral on social media when they posted a snap of themselves by the pool in their swimming costumes and were left “shocked” by their appearance.
Ola wrote on Instagram: ” I wasn’t going to post this picture but I’ve decided to because I’m horrified and so disappointed with myself and by posting it I’m hoping it will help motivate me to do something about it.
“Our friend took this snap of us yesterday trying to stay cool by the pool but OMG… it was a total shock to say the least! When did we get ‘mum and dad bods’ ????” (sic)

Coronation Street’s Daniel Brocklebank makes guest appearance on Countdown

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ star Daniel Brocklebank has made a guest appearance on ‘Countdown’.
The 42-year-old actor put his lexical dexterity to the test by appearing in the Channel 4 show’s Dictionary Corner area alongside lexicographer Susie Dent on Thursday (04.08.22).
Taking to Twitter, Daniel teased his appearance on the show, by posting a snap of himself in the studio alongside a picture of his name card.
It read: “So today… and I’m very excited to announce this… starts my guest appearances on @C4Countdown sat in dictionary corner with the rather fabulous @susie_dent (sic)”
The news comes after Daniel’s former fellow ‘Corrie’ co-star Les Dennis was confirmed as Anne Robinson’s temporary replacement – after Anne, 77 stepped down as the show’s host after just one year in the hot seat.
Les announced the news on Twitter in July, writing: “From 4th August until 15th I shall be hosting the iconic @C4Countdown. It is such an honour. Hope you enjoy. (sic)”
Former ‘Family Fortunes’ host Les was meant to be over in Dictionary Corner, but he stepped in as temporary host instead after presenter Colin Murray – who made his debut as the stand-in presenter earlier in July – was struck down with coronavirus.
Les explained on the show: “I was due today to be over in ‘Dictionary Corner’ […] but sadly [Colin] has fallen foul of the dreaded Covid, so has to stay home and isolate.”
Jenny Eclair also stepped in for Colin, and he later praised the comedian and Les.
He wrote on Twitter: “My recent bout of Covid has me away […] for a few weeks but stay tuned in. [Les] and Jenny Eclair stepped in like the legends they are and episodes are great.”

Quentin Tarantino hails Top Gun: Maverick ‘terrific’

OHMYGOSSIP — Quentin Tarantino was spellbound by ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.
The legendary filmmaker – who has been a long-time stan of the late original ‘Top Gun’ helmer Tony Scott and worked with him on the 1993 classic ‘True Romance’ – admits he never expected a sequel to the blockbuster 1986 action drama to see the light of day, let alone three decades later.
But he was blown away by Joseph Kosinski’s flick.
Speaking on the ‘ReelBlend’, he said: “I f****** love ‘Top Gun: Maverick.’ I thought it was fantastic.
“I saw it at the theatres. That and [Steven] Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’ both provided a true cinematic spectacle, the kind that I’d almost thought that I wasn’t going to see anymore. It was fantastic.”
The ‘Pulp Fiction’ director applauded Kosinski for respecting Scott’s original movie.
He gushed: “There was just this lovely, lovely aspect because I love both Tony Scott’s cinema so much, and I love Tony so much that that’s as close as we’re ever going to get to seeing one more Tony Scott movie.
“[Director Joseph Kosinski] did a great job. The respect and the love of Tony was in every frame. It was almost in every decision. It was consciously right there, but in this really cool way that was really respectful. And I think it was in every decision Tom [Cruise] made on the film.”
He said: “It’s the closest we’re ever going get to seeing one more Tony Scott movie, and it was a f****** terrific one.”
However, he did have one issue, branding Tom Cruise (Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell) and Val Kilmer’s (Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky) reunion “almost too cheap.”
Nonetheless, he added: “But it absolutely works. It’s a bit like Charlie Chaplin dying on stage for the last scene of ‘Limelight’… but it f****** works. You’re waiting for it and the f****** scene delivers.”

The Flash pressing forward despite Ezra Miller’s scandals

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Flash’ will still go ahead with Ezra Miller.
The 29-year-old actor, who played Barry Allen aka the Flash in 2018’s ‘Justice League’ and the 2021 Zack Snyder cut, has faced a number of headline-making controversies in recent times.
Just last month, it was reported that they will no longer face legal trouble in Germany after prosecutors reportedly dropped a trespassing investigation.
The star had been accused of refusing to leave the Berlin home of a woman named only as Zara after she invited them there one evening in February – with the woman alleging the star became verbally abusive and only left after she called the police.
Variety.com reported she filed a criminal complaint against Miller but dropped the case when it emerged they had left Germany.
Miller was also accused of sheltering teenage runaway Tokata Iron Eyes, whose parents filed a restraining order against the star.
However, despite the run-ins with the law, Warner Bros. confirmed the film is still on track for a June 23, 2023, with Miller in tow.
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said at the firm’s Q2 earnings call this week: “We have seen ‘The Flash,’ ‘Black Adam’ and ‘Shazam 2.’
“We are very excited about them. We’ve seen them. We think they are terrific, and we think we can make them even better.”
Zaslav also spoke out to defend the studio’s decision to axe the $90 million ‘Batgirl’ movie starring Leslie Grace as the titular superhero.
He said: “We’re not going to launch a movie until it’s ready. We’re not going to launch a movie to make a quarter, and we’re not going to put a movie out unless we believe in it.”

Rowan Atkinson: I wouldn’t rule out filming more Maigret

OHMYGOSSIP — Rowan Atkinson says he “wouldn’t rule out filming more” episodes of ‘Maigret’.
The 67-year-old actor played Chief inspector Jules Maigret in the ITV drama of the same name, which was axed in 2016 after just four episodes, and the ‘Mr. Bean’ star has now admitted that it wasn’t his decision to cancel the show and hinted a possible return for the defunct detective series.
He told the Daily Mail newspaper: “It wasn’t my decision to pull the plug,
“That was down to ITV, who made some kind of judgment about what kind of shows they wanted to make and I guess how well – or not – our show was going down.
“It was their prerogative; and it’s not for me to raise any defence against that decision. But never say never. I wouldn’t rule out filming more.”
The show was based on books published by Georges Simenon between 1931 and 1972. It was set in 1950s France and featured the fictional French detective Maigret.
The whodunnit drama was spread out over two seasons but disappeared following the final episode on Christmas Eve 2017.
Rowan recently said he is extremely picky when it comes to acting roles, admitting he must have “total faith” in new projects.
He said: “I’m very happy to work but I sort of need to work on something in which I have total faith and belief and understanding.
“It’s got to inspire me, I suppose I have got to want to do it, [for example] ‘The Johnny English’ movies and the ‘Mr Bean’ movies.”
Rowan went on to explain how he takes time out to recuperate after completing a project.
He added: “I feel creatively completely dead after projects, therefore I need three months or six months to think about nothing.”

Made in Chelsea signs four new cast members

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Made in Chelsea’ has signed up for new new cast members.
The E4 reality show – which began in 2011 and made stars out of natives such as ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ winner Georgia Toffolo and entrepreneur Spencer Matthews – is set to return to screens for a Spanish-based special in August ahead of its 24th series, and it will feature new faces in the form of personal assistant India Hovenden, part-time student and model Isabella Francis-Baum, Versace intern Willow Day, and super-yacht delivery driver Malek Amro, all of whom have swapped the London Borough for the Mediterranean.
A TV insider said: “The really exciting news is that some of these characters are likely to feature in the subsequent series of the show when it returns to Blighty.”
However, the source went on to explain that ‘Made in Chelsea’ bosses will not reveal which of the four newcomers will win a regular role on the series when it returns to Britain in an effort to “maintain the intrigue”, but insisted they all fit the “essential criteria” of a place on the show.
The source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz Column: “But to maintain the intrigue, producers aren’t revealing exactly which of the Majorcan newcomers will be signing up.
“Instead, viewers will just need to follow their storylines to find out! Suffice to say, they all fit the essential criteria of being on ‘Made In Chelsea’ in that they’re all rather stylish, sexy and, of course, terribly posh.”

Dame Deborah James’ husband speaks for first time of his grief since her death

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Deborah James’ husband has spoken for the first time of his grief since her death.
Sebastian Bowen said he held the podcast host and broadcaster’s hand as she passed away and told her how proud he was of her after she raised £7.4 million for cancer research through her BowelBabe campaign.
The banker, who married Dame Deborah, 40, in 2008, told The Sun on Friday night (05.08.22): “I kissed her on the head, I told her how much I loved her, that I would look after the kids and the last thing I said to her was that I was so proud of her. Then she slipped away.
“She had an incredibly peaceful death, if there was a way to die well, then she managed it.
“At the very end, it was quite spiritual.”
In the last seven weeks of her life alone Deborah was made a Dame and had the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, over for tea at her parents’ home to accept the honour.
On top of the millions she raised for cancer research, she also launch a clothing line, designing charity T-shirts to raise another £1 million for her BowelBabe Fund after being diagnosed with incurable bowel cancer.
She spent the five-and-a-half years in the wake of the news telling anyone who would listen to “Check your poo!”, with the ex-deputy headmaster spending almost every minute until her death raising awareness and campaigning.
Sebastian, 42, who had children Hugo, 14, and Eloise, 12, with the broadcaster, added: “I’m in total awe of Debs, I’m in awe of what she did and how she went about it.”
Asked what he would miss the most about his wife of almost 14 years, he added: “It’s her magic, her way of finding joy in every moment – even in the darkest of times. That’s what I’ll miss most, it’s quite a rare thing.
“It was at the very core of what made her unique.”
Deborah was given days to live when she was diagnosed but refused to give in until May 9, when she shared a post online saying she had left hospital and was no longer having treatment for her cancer.

Louisa Jacobson ‘constantly’ compared to mom Meryl Streep

OHMYGOSSIP — Louisa Jacobson says being compared to her mother Meryl Streep has been a “constant” part of her life.
The ‘Gilded Age’ actress is the youngest child of the screen legend and her husband Don Gummer but the 31-year-old star insisted she tries to ignore the comments that she has only landed work due to nepotism.
She said: “It’s going to be a constant thing throughout my life. It has been since I can remember – this issue of ‘Do I deserve what I have?’ But I think about Jane Fonda and how she made a name for herself. And there’s been plenty of other people who’ve been able to carve their own path – like Sofia Coppola. I think it just takes time and not reading Twitter and just focusing on what I want to achieve as an artist.”
And Louisa believes maintaining a “thick skin” is vital for a successful career in acting.
She added to Britain’s Tatler magazine: “This profession requires you to be thick-skinned when it comes to that online stuff and really thin-skinned when it comes to being on set and being permeable to other people’s emotions.
“I feel I’m very careful about decisions in my life because I’ve been able to watch my older siblings [actresses Mamie and Grace Gummer and musician and actor Henry Gummer] do what they do… I think a lot of people put pressure on themselves to be good at what they do, particularly when you are following such a prolific parent.”
Louisa met her actor boyfriend Jonathan Higginbotham at the Yale School of Drama and revealed she loves being with someone who understands the demands of her career.
She said: “It’s great in a way. We share this strange career together and can complain about the same things. He knows so deeply what it is that I do. [But] it’s always a tricky thing to navigate the different stages of one’s career. The imbalances that might exist during one time will flip and go the other way at another time. You just have to go with the flow and be really supportive of one another.”

John Leguizamo blasted as ‘culturally uneducated’ by Castro producer

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Alina of Cuba’ producer John Martinez O’Felan hit back at John Leguizamo over his criticism of James Franco’s casting as Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro.
After James’ casting was announced, John, 62, fumed on Instagram: “How is this still going on? How is Hollywood excluding us but stealing our narratives as well?
“No more appropriation Hollywood and streamers! Boycott! This F’d up! Plus seriously difficult story to tell without aggrandizement which would b wrong!
“I don’t got a prob with Franco but he ain’t Latino!”
However, producer John Martinez hit back, calling Leguizamo “culturally uneducated”.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “A guy like John Leguizamo has historically been looked up to by Hispanics as one of America’s earliest actors of Latin descent since the 90s and I’ve always admired him as a fellow underdog. But his comments are culturally uneducated and a blind attack with zero substance related to this project.
“The reality of the ignorance piece falls within his statement suggesting his personal view on being ‘Latino,’ because a land mass or living area does not determine a person’s blood history or genetics.
“His note is a great talking point because they represent the same confusion and identity crisis in Hollywood right now within the Hispanic community in America who are arguing that we should only identify as Latin, which is mostly because of the falsehoods being spread by the actors who are supposed to be representing us, but instead create division amongst their own people.
“I think he should move past himself and also acknowledge that this story is about a Latin female immigrant living in America who is of historical importance, led by a Latin woman and I’m just an underdog who is making it, so he should also understand that it’s kind of disappointing to see our work getting attacked by someone who claims to be a leader of the Latin community.”
The Castro film in which James is set to appear is being helmed by Spanish director Miguel Bardem.
He will be joined by actress Mía Maestro, 47, who will play the role of socialite Natalia ‘Naty’ Revuelta, Castro’s one-time mistress.
Ana Villafañe, 33, is playing the role of Alina Fernandez, daughter of Castro and Revuelta.
Written by Jose Rivera and Nilo Cruz it will show the life story of Cuban exile and social campaigner Fernandez, who found out aged 10 she was Castro’s daughter.
Fernandez became an anti-communism activist who was arrested multiple times for her attempts to flee Cuba, and banned from travelling outside the country. She defected to Spain in 1993 and settled in Miami.
The film will reportedly begin shooting August 15 in the Colombian cities of Cartagena and Bogota.

Matt Smith thinks he’s too old for Doctor Who return

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Smith thinks he might be too old to return to ‘Doctor Who’.
The 39-year-old actor portrayed the TimeLord from 2010 to 2013 and while he would love to return to the show, he admitted he has some reservations.
He told Rolling Stone UK: “Maybe, if it was the right script. I mean, I don’t know if I’ve got too old now. It would have to be really right.
Smith was just 26 when he was cast as the Doctor and he admitted to being terrified of messing it up.
He said: “I was turning up to work going, ‘F***, I can’t do this’. I used to phone my dad, going ‘I can’t do this.’ And he’d be like, ‘Come on, get your head down, you can.’ The show is such a jewel in the BBC crown, and has such global appeal… if it doesn’t work, and you’re at the centre of it, then there’s nowhere to hide. I remember walking down the street around that time and someone shouting, ‘Don’t break Doctor Who!’
“It’s a wonderful club to be part of, because… you know, Doctor Who is just f****** brilliant, isn’t it?”
Matt is excited for Ncuti Gatwa to take over as Doctor Who, saying: “He is going to be fabulous.”
And he is thrilled that his predecessor David Tennant, 51, is returning to the show for its 60th anniversary celebrations.
He said: “What a Doctor, what an actor, what a bloke. Arguably David is… a totally seminal Doctor.
“Can you imagine [following on from him]? Because he was as popular as it gets, really. But he was so kind to me, David, in the transition. He’s just a good bloke.”
