Josie Gibson was ‘pushed out of her comfort zone’ by Alison Hammond on This Morning

OHMYGOSSIP — Josie Gibson was “pushed out of her comfort zone” by Alison Hammond on ‘This Morning.’
The 37-year-old TV star shot to fame when she won ‘Big Brother’ in 2011 and teamed up with fellow alum Alison – who appeared on the Channel 4 reality show back in 2002 – to take over presenting duties on the ITV daytime show during the summer of 2022 but “would not have been able” to take on the role had it not been for her co-host.
She said: “I get really nervous, and I would not have been able to do that show if it wasn’t for Alison… and (regular host) Holly [Willoughby]. But when I used to go in the studios, Alison would say to me ‘When I do a demo you need to hear the whole gallery, just in case you ever get the call and you know what it’s like.'”
Josie – who normally hosts the daily competition segments on ‘This Morning’ – was initially drafted in as a last-minute stand-in presenter for the main show alongside long-standing host Phillip Schofield when Holly was off sick back in November 2021 and explained that she was only able to do it because Alison had already given her the “tricks and tips” of the job.
She told Metro.co.uk: “So Alison used to push me really out of my comfort zone, and because she did that, I was able to fill in that day with Phil, because if I hadn’t had got all those tricks and tips of Alison telling me about everything. I would have never been able to do it.”

Alan Carr: I’m too busy for I’m a Celeb

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr is “too busy” for ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.’
The 46-year-old TV star is currently shooting new home renovation series ‘The Italian Job’ for the BBC with ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ star Amanda Holden and admitted that although showbusiness is “feast or famine” there will come a time when he has to say yes to taking part in the ITV jungle survival show when he is not so “popular.”
He is quoted by The Daily Star newspaper as saying: “It’s famine or feast in this business. There will be a time when I’m in the jungle eating crocodile bits, thinking ‘Do you remember 2022 when you were popular?’ I’m super busy now.”
Meanwhile, the former ‘Chatty Man’ host – who split from his husband Paul Drayton earlier this year after 13 years together is still persevering with his comedy gigs but admitted that the material is “very personal and very raw”.
He said: “I wrote the tour, and then it just didn’t make sense when we came out of lockdown because the
marriage had broken down, so I was writing fresh on the go. It’s very personal and it’s very raw, but it’s going down really well. I need it [the tour]. And I get the impression that people just want a laugh and I do see it as therapy. I just get on with it, you know?”
“During COVID, the relationship fell apart, and I was divorced when we came out the other end. So it’s probably my most personal [tour], but it sort of works and it’s quite raw and I go to places that Akdon’t normally talk about. It’s like therapy really. Life’s given me one of those years. Professionally, it has been amazing but personally, it’s been a bit rubbish.
Alan’s ‘Regional Trinket’ tour continues across the UK until December 2022.

Mark Wahlberg had ‘fun’ during Me Time shoot

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wahlberg had “fun every day” while filming ‘Me Time’.
The 51-year-old actor plays Huck Dumbo in the Netflix comedy film and loved working together with co-star Kevin Hart and director John Hamburg.
Mark told Variety: “I was able to just go to work and have fun every day.
“John created an amazing environment for everybody, not just myself, Kevin and Regina (Hall), but for everybody to be at their creative best and try things.”
The film follows Sonny Fisher (Hart), a stay-at-home dad who decides to take some time away for himself by reconnecting with Wahlberg’s character for a weekend birthday trip, and the comic was impressed with ‘The Departed’ star’s work ethic.
Kevin said: “Seeing Mark come to work, sit in his chair and talk to the cast and crew, this is a guy who’s been doing it for years!
“I’ve been fortunate enough to work with good people that respect and love the craft, and I hope that never changes.”
Regina plays Hart’s wife in the movie and likened her own busy career to that of her architecture alter ego Maya Fisher.
She said: “It’s certainly (about) understanding how it is to try to have balance between work and, honestly, me time, being able to have quality time with yourself and anyone you love.”
Mark had to film a nude scene for the project and struggled with the “embarrassing” experience.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “Day two was great because I got to put my clothes back on. Day one was rough. I was only wearing sneakers. It was a bit embarrassing but other than that it was all good. It was just such a fun environment. You know, I mean, I never laughed so much in my life.”

‘Beast’ was filmed across South Africa and Idris explained that the setting was a vital part of the story, which sees Idris’ character Dr. Nate Samuels and his daughters hunted by a lion.
He explained: “The environment is definitely a big character in the film – it’s part of why they’re isolated, how they get isolated. So it was really important that we went (there). Apart from the lion, everything was shot in those real locations.”

Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah claim they have been denied access to film footage

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Batgirl’ directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah claim that Warner Bros. blocked their access to the cancelled film’s footage.
The superhero movie was dramatically canned earlier this month and the filmmaking duo have accused the studio of blocking their access to the production servers to prevent the pair from developing their work.
In an interview with SKRIPT, Fallah said: “We have nothing. Adil called me and said, ‘Shoot everything on your phone’. I went on the server, and everything was blocked.”
El Arbi added: “We were like, ‘F****** s***! All the scenes with Batman in them! S***!”
The directors also shut down rumours that poor test screenings were responsible for the flick’s cancellation and insists that it was a strategic decision to shelve the movie, which had been set to Leslie Grace, J.K. Simmons and Michael Keaton.
El Arbi, 34, said: “The guys from Warners told us it was not a talent problem from our part or the actress, or even the quality of the movie.
“They told us it was strategic change. There was new management, and they wanted to save some money.”
Fallah revealed that he was utterly gobsmacked when he found out that the movie, which had already been shot, would not be getting released.
The 36-year-old director said: “First, when I heard the news, I was shocked, I didn’t know how to react. I wanted to break stuff, cry, even laugh. I was like, ‘This is not happening’.”
The ‘Bad Boys for Life’ directors are still holding out hope for the movie and are grateful for the support from figures in the film industry.
Fallah said: “Seeing all the support on Twitter, and even from big directors Edgar Wright and James Gunn, who sent us supportive messages, it was comforting.”
El Arbi added: “After all we make movies for the audience, not for us. We just hope that one day the movie will be released, for the cast and crew. We are a small family.”

Maisie Smith, Amber Gill and Ferne McCann among Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins competitors

OHMYGOSSIP — Maisie Smith, Amber Gill and Ferne McCann are among the stars who will take part in ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ series four.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress, Love Islander and ex-‘The Only Way is Essex’ star will join the likes of West End star Jennifer Ellison, ex footballer Ashley Cain and pro dancers and brothers AJ and Curtis Pritchard on the Channel 4 military endurance show.
The programme – which will be the longest season to date, with seven hour-long episodes – is adapted from the original ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ which sees members of the public endure military training.
Ashley – whose baby daughter Azaylia tragically died from acute myeloid leukaemia in April 2021 – says the programme shows you “who you really are”.
The 31-year-old television personality said: “Losing my daughter was the most difficult experience of my life. I think to combat trauma you need to step outside your comfort zone and see who you really are.
“There’s no better way to do that than on ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’, so when the opportunity came, I took it with both hands!”
Maisie – who competed on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ before saying farewell to Albert Square – has longed to put her “mental strength” through the wringer.
The 21-year-old actress said: “I’ve seen the show before and I really wanted to put my mental strength to the test.
“I’ve always pushed myself but this was beyond limits I didn’t even know I had. It was the best experience of my life.”
Ferne believes it was “the right time” to take on the “tough” test.
The 32-year-old reality star said: “It just felt like the right time in my life to be challenged. I had no idea what to expect but I wanted to see how tough it really is.
“You’re stripped of everything, broken down to the point you have no choice but to build yourself back up again. It was the opportunity of a lifetime and I’m so glad I’ve done it.”
This series – which is presented by ex Marine Rudy Reyes after Ant Middleton was axed by the broadcaster – will also include TOWIE’s Pete Wicks, athlete Dwain Chambers, Olympic champion Jade Jones, boxer Shannon Courtenay, Paralympian Jonathan Broom-Edwards and javelin thrower Fatima Whitbread.

Jason Momoa will play a ‘quirky’ villain in Fast X

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Momoa is looking forward to playing a “quirky” villain in ‘Fast X’.
The 43-year-old actor has been cast as an antagonist in the latest movie of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise and is excited about the next phase of his career.
Jason told Entertainment Tonight: “I’ve never played a character that’s, what’s the word – he’s evil and quirky and androgynous. He’s very sadistic and fun. It’s very bizarre.”
The ‘Game of Thrones’ star enjoyed starring in the flick – which is due to be released in 2023 – and embraced playing a bad guy in the ‘Fast’ family.
He said: “I haven’t played a villain in a very long time.”
Jason will reprise his role as Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) sequel ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ and he revealed that the film will be a “brothers’ journey” between his alter ego Arthur Curry and the hero’s half-brother Orm Marius, played by Patrick Wilson.
He explained: “It’s a bit of a brothers’ journey. So it’s a lot of funny stuff, and there’s a lot of stuff that’s just what’s going on in our environment, talking about climate change and just hitting on certain things that I wanted to hit on.
“Just a lot of laughs and also a lot of pain, so there’s wonderful action.”
The project will see Momoa reunite with Ben Affleck, who is reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the film, and he can’t wait to work with his ‘Justice League’ co-star again.
He told Variety: “It’s just hugs and kisses. I love that guy. We get along too well. It’s very good to see him again.”

John Boyega not interested in Star Wars return

OHMYGOSSIP — John Boyega has no plans to return to ‘Star Wars’.
The 30-year-old actor played Finn in the sequel trilogy of the epic sci-fi franchise but has confirmed that he has little interest in coming back for more.
John told SiriusXM: “At this point I’m cool off it. I’m good off it. I think Finn is a good confirmation point where you can just enjoy him in other things, the games, the animation. But I feel like ‘(Episode) VII’ to ‘(Episode) IX’ was good for me.”
Boyega has appeared in a number of projects since his ‘Star Wars’ adventure came to an end and he explained that he wants to be a “versatile” actor.
The ‘They Cloned Tyrone’ star said: “To be fair, (with) the allies that I’ve found within Joel Taylor and Jamie Foxx, Teyonah Parris, Viola Davis, all these people I’ve been working with… versatility is my path.”
John has previously criticised Disney for sidelining his character in the movies but praised the company for its response to the racist abuse directed at Moses Ingram, who starred in the spin-off series ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’.
The actor said: “Moses Ingram being protected makes me feel protected. Do you understand what I’m saying? It makes me feel like, ‘Okay, cool. I am not the elephant in the room.’ Because when I started, it wasn’t really a conversation you could bring up.
“You know how they went through it. It was kind of like, let’s just be silent. It wasn’t a conversation you could bring up. But now to see how blatant it is, to see Ewan McGregor come and support… for me, (it) fulfils my time where I didn’t get the support.”

Danniella Westbrook splits from boyfriend of six years

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook and her partner have split up.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star met 28-year-old David – who is currently serving time in Pentonville prison – in 2016 while living in Spain, and the pair got engaged earlier in March.
Despite the actress previously stating she was “happy” with how things were going in the relationship, the couple have decided to call it quits.
A spokesperson for the ex-‘Hollyoaks’ star told The Sun newspaper: “We can confirm that Danniella has indeed split up with her partner, the decision hasn’t come lightly and it is a decision that she feels is best for her and her career at this moment in time.”
Danniella is said to be “devastated” about the split.

“Danniella is going to take time to focus on herself, her surgery and her career.
“She’s confident that the right man will eventually come along when she least expects it.”
Earlier this month, Danniella – who previously played Sam Mitchell in ‘EastEnders’ – revealed she had a secret lover, after she was spotted having dinner with ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Grace Andrews’ dad Terry, sparking speculation they could be an item.

Ruth Langsford: I was in physical pain when my son left for university

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Langsford felt “physical pain” when her son fled the nest.
The ‘Loose Women’ anchor – who shares 20-year-old son Jack with presenter Eamonn Holmes – revealed she was so distraught when her boy left for university that she felt like someone has teared out her insides.
She said: “It sounds dramatic but for the next three days, I felt like I’d had my womb ripped out. It was physical pain. I was sitting on his bed, sniffing his pillow, and I kept his bedroom door shut because then I could imagine he was in there.
“Now it’s great. Jack seems so happy and I don’t get as upset each time he comes home and then leaves again.”
The 62-year-old star – who tied the knot with Eamonn, 62, in 2010 – has opened up about their marriage, admitting they only have small disputes over trivial things.
She added to Woman and Home magazine: “Eamonn and I don’t fall out over big things. On our anniversary, he peeled off the foil cover on a plastic milk bottle, left it wet-side down on the worktop, poured his tea and off he went.
“Things like that can send me into a rage. I said, ‘How can your brain tell you that’s all right?’ Eamonn’s mum had five boys and did everything for them, whereas I went to boarding school and so I was a lot more practical, so we’re quite different.
“If Jack ever left anything on the side, I’d go, ‘Who do you think is picking that up? Me? Girls weren’t put on the earth to pick up after men!’ I hope that young women of his generation will not accept that. It shouldn’t be the case that women work then come home and do the housework.”

“Aside from having the privilege of bringing the role of Sugar Goodson to life, I am also extremely proud that Matriarch is co-producing this show whilst helping to create opportunities for people in front of and behind the camera, instilling the ethos of providing training within production that otherwise would be difficult for some to pursue as a career. ‘Don’t count the days… Make the days count.’ – Muhammad Ali.”
Steven is also the lead writer for the series, which will follow Hezekiah and Alec, two best friends from Jamaica who find themselves thrust into the vibrant and violent melting pot of post-industrial revolution London’s East End.
He added: “I’m really thrilled to be working on this project with Stephen as well as the very talented production team and group of writers.

Grace Dent: Judging MasterChef is very stressful

OHMYGOSSIP — Grace Dent says judging ‘MasterChef’ is “very stressful”.
The 48-year-old food critic admits she often sees the contestants on the BBC cookery competition get “really emotional” over their food, because the dishes mean so much to them.
While appearing on Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett’s podcast ‘Dish’, she said: “It’s very stressful. And I think that the technique they use to keep it stressful really works because they don’t let me see the competitors at all.
“You know, it’s not as if we’re all standing outside having a ciggie together.
“So, they used to never let them see me until that moment that they come through the door with the plate or whatever, or if I’m in the kitchen walking about, they kind of hide me in like a cupboard at the back, you know?
“So, Greg would go, ‘We’ve got a formidable presence in food here today. It’s Grace Dent’, I think he said, ‘What was that like?’ That like the first few times I came through that door, I just used to kind of be quiet, like meek.
“But then I thought, I’m not getting any screen time, so I just do a pure-panto, you know, just come through the door and be incredibly panto. But they look really upset when I first appear because they’re tired, you know, sleepless and they’ve been mentally making the same dish in their head in the flight simulator all night, you know, I mean 70 times and then … they’re really tense.
“But, you know, are we even playing that game if people aren’t crying? Joking aside, though, people cry because food is really emotional. And if they’ve been set a brief, to make something that reminds them of home or something, it reminds them of travels or somebody they love or they often, they store it all in the pit of their stomach and then they make it. And then when you ask them to explain it for the first time, they just cry.”
Despite now writing about some of the world’s most glamorous eateries, Grace admits her idea of a “posh meal” growing up was a birthday treat at the local Wimpy.
She said: “Well, I never went for posh meals when I was little. I’m from Carlisle, you know, there wasn’t any posh restaurants. One of the most
exciting meals I had was at the Wimpy.”
‘Dish’, the new podcast from Waitrose Partners hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett is available on all podcast providers now.

Holly Willoughby backing Alison Hammond for TV Presenter prize at NTAs

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby is backing Alison Hammond to win the TV Presenter prize at this year’s National Television Awards.
The ‘This Morning’ presenter – who is currently on her summer holiday from the ITV daytime show – wants her 47-year-old colleague to take home the coveted gong at the ceremony later this year.
Re-sharing a video of the former ‘Big Brother’ housemate running on a treadmill, the 41-year-old presenter wrote on her Instagram Story: “There is only one @alisonhammond55… come on babe! This year is our year… congratulations… love you!!! #NTA. (sic)”
Alison was revealed to be up for the award alongside other nominees, ‘The Chase’ host Bradley Walsh, comedian Graham Norton, and Geordie duo Ant and Dec, who have taken the honour home for the last two decades running.
Holly – who along with her co-host Phillip Schofield were not recognised in the category – has a nod via This Morning’s Daytime category nomination. The programme will do battle with ‘Loose Women’, ‘The Chase’, and ‘The Repair Shop’ for the accolade.
Since Holly and Phil’s ‘This Morning’ summer holiday kicked off in early July, there have been a whole roster of stars taking to the famous sofa to front the show, such as regular Friday presenters Alison and her co-host Dermot O’Leary, who did the honours for two weeks before passing the baton to Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle.
Vernon Kay, Rochelle Humes and Andi Peters have also stepped in, and Ruth Langsford assumed her position back on the show this week, for the first time since her husband Eamonn Holmes, 62, departed the programme for his GB News breakfast show.
The 62-year-old presenter – who regularly appears as an anchor on ‘Loose Women’ – has been joined by Rylan Clark to co-host this week’s episodes.
In June, Eamonn claimed ITV “left” him, denying it was the other way around.
He said: “The department of disinformation at ITV can put out all the lies they want. I wish somebody would show me the email or the letter or that I was sent to say, ‘Eamonn, this is why this is coming to an end’. But to tell lies, that I left them to go to GB News… I didn’t – they left me.
“Let’s get it straight. They left me. I don’t care, because our audience is only up.”

Coleen Rooney ‘signs lucrative deal with Disney Plus’ for Wagatha Christie Documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Coleen Rooney has reportedly signed a multi-million pound deal with Disney Plus to release a documentary about the Wagatha Christie saga.
The wife of former footballer Wayne Rooney recently won a libel case brought by former pal Rebekah Vardy over an Instagram post in which Coleen accused Rebekah’s account of leaking false stories about her to the press – and now a new report suggests the story is to be retold in a documentary for Disney Plus after Coleen landed a lucrative deal for the rights.
A source told The Sun: “This is a massive deal for Coleen … She is also getting across her own side of the story in terms of Wagatha Christie.
“Since her first damning social media post outing Rebekah, she has remained steadfastly silent.
“Now the public will see first hand the toll this whole case took on her, and her family — and why she took the action she took.”
The publication reports the show is being made by the same production company which made a documentary about her husband Wayne – titled ‘Rooney’ – last year and Coleen signed the deal with Disney Plus following a bidding war with rivals Amazon Prime, Netflix and Discovery.
According to The Sun, cameras filming for the documentary have been following Coleen for months and the show will give viewers “unfiltered access” from behind-the-scenes.
Coleen, 36, had publicly claimed that “Rebekah Vardy’s account” was the source behind three fake stories she had posted on her private Instagram page – of which Rebekah was an approved follower – and was dubbed ‘Wagatha Christie’ for her social media probing, a reference to the term ‘WAGS’ which is an acronym used to refer to wives and girlfriends of high-profile sportsmen.
Rebekah – who is married to Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy – sued Coleen for libel after she accused her of leaking “false stories” to the media in an explosive social media post, but a judge ruled against Rebekah.
In the High Court verdict delivered in July, judge Mrs Justice Steyn ruled that it was “likely” that Rebekah’s then-agent Caroline Watt “undertook the direct act” of passing information on but that her client was aware. The judge said: “Nonetheless, the evidence clearly shows, in my view, that Mrs Vardy knew of and condoned this behaviour, actively engaging in it by directing Ms Watt to the private Instagram account, sending her screenshots of Mrs Rooney’s posts, drawing attention to items of potential interest to the press, and answering additional queries raised by the press via Ms Watt.” “In my judgment, the conclusions that I have reached as to the extent to which the claimant engaged in disclosing to The Sun information to which she only had access as a permitted follower of an Instagram account which she knew, and Mrs Rooney repeatedly asserted, was private, suffice to show the single meaning is substantially true.”
