Chloe Madeley had to have an emergency C-Section as her daughter’s birth rate plummeted

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Madeley had to have an emergency Caesarean section during childbirth.
The 35-year-old star – who is the daughter of former ‘This Morning’ presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan – welcomed baby girl Bodhi with her husband James Haskell, 37, at the end of August but the pair admitted that the birth “didn’t go to plan” at all.
She said: “Like many women can relate to, my birth did not go to plan whatsoever. I really didn’t want to be induced but I always maintained throughout my pregnancy that whatever needs to happen would happen – all I cared about was my baby. They said the contractions would be no different but it happens faster and quicker with the drip, which means you don’t have a moment to catch your breath in between, so they advised me to have the epidural
The former ‘Dancing on Ice’ contestant went on to explain that her daughter’s “heart rate had plummeted” and the obstetrician insisted on performing a C-section when her labour had “struggled to progress” despite the epidural.
She added: “I was in and out all night, I would say every time they tried to up the hormone drip to try to push me into transitional labour, to the point where I’d have to push, her heart rate plummeted and all the alarms started going off, and all the midwives ran in.
“I felt really protected by the midwives but it was really scary. Then at 8am the obstetrician came in and said. ‘I’m so sorry, it hasn’t worked, we’re going to have to do an emergency C-section and we should do it now’ because at that point her heart rate had gone from sporadically dropping and picking back up to just progressively dropping, and she said, ‘I’m not comfortable and I want to get her out’.”
Former rugby union player James – who tied the knot with Chloe in 2018 – admitted that he wanted to remain strong for the same of his wife his wife.
He said: “I didn’t know how much longer Chloe was going to be able to deal with it, or our baby. So when she went into theatre it was some relief, because whilst it was an emergency it was under control. My job was to support Chloe and I just held her head during surgery and tried to keep things light.”

Jaime Winstone has a collection of 75 Barbie dolls

OHMYGOSSIP — Jaime Winstone has a collection of 75 Barbie dolls.
The 37-year-old actress – who is the daughter of esteemed actor Ray Winstone and his wife Elaine – was asked what she likes to collect and admitted she is a big fan of the iconic Mattel doll and can’t resist picking another one up for her “gang” whenever she is in a charity shop.
She said: “[I collect] Barbies… I love my Barbies and I love dolls. If I go into a charity shop and there’s a Barbie there in a look, I’m like, ugh, she’d look so good in my gang. I have about 75.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Four Lives’ actress has recently taken on the role of legendary ‘EastEnders’ matriarch Peggy Mitchell – famously played by the late Dame Barbara Windsor for over two decades – in a special flashback episode of the BBC One soap and explained she is “so grateful” to have met Barbara while preparing to take on the title role in BBC biopic ‘Babs’ back in 2017.
Jaime told Evening Standard newspaper: “I’ve just finished playing Peggy Mitchell for an ‘EastEnders’ one-off Seventies period drama special, which is super exciting. There’s so much interest in why Peggy was like Peggy and we get that from this episode. I’m very grateful to have spent time with Barbara Windsor in real life. One day she said, ‘Oh you know, you’re more me than me. Don’t worry babe. Do it. This is also your job.’ I miss her, God bless and ultimate respect.”
Jaime previously admitted that while she had been able to take on many comedy roles made famous by the ‘Carry On’ actress – who died in December 2020 at the age of 83 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease – she had to “strip away” many elements in order to portray the “tough” but “vulnerable” Peggy.
She said: “I’ve played so many parts in Barbara’s life but not Peggy Mitchell and it had been niggling at me. I had to strip all the ‘Carry On’ stuff away – like the wiggle, the giggle – and implement all the stuff Peggy grew from. It took a long time. Peggy is different, she’s tough, she’s vulnerable but nobody’s seen her at this point in her life.
“Just seeing [Peggy’s sons] Phil and Grant as young men, then Peggy, then Eric, who we’ve heard so much about. I love the parallels with Thatcher on TV and what’s going on now. It pulled my heartstrings.”
The flashback episode of ‘EastEnders’ aired on BBC One on September 5 and is available on BBC iPlayer.

Ruth Wilson enjoyed working with an intimacy coach on True Things

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Wilson was grateful to work with an intimacy coach on ‘True Things’.
The 40-year-old actress stars as Kate in the drama and her character has an affair with a man known only as ‘Blond’ (Tom Burke) and she revealed that the pair were delighted to work with intimacy coaching “queen” Ita O’Brien.
Ruth told The Hollywood Reporter: “She was brilliant.
“I’m really hoping it results in more interesting sex scenes on our screens because there’s a dialogue now and there wasn’t one before. Having an intimacy coach now means the discussion can happen in a pragmatic, practical, rational way.”
The film is based on the 2011 novel ‘True Things about Me’ by Deborah Kay Davies and Ruth first became aware of the story after Jude Law recommended it to her as they performed together at a London theatre production.
‘The Affair’ star said: “I read it and loved it. I felt that, at the time, there hadn’t been, many stories from that subjective female perspective on this kind of moment in a relationship.
“It felt like such rich territory to investigate because we’ve all had those relationships, almost a rite of passage-type relationship, where you obsess over someone that’s completely wrong for you.”
Wilson explained that she was drawn to the part of Kate as it was a role that was different from her previous projects.
She said: “I found her quite quirky and by that point, I had done ‘Luther’ and ‘Jane Eyre’ and I wanted something more modern. I wanted to play a character that I hadn’t really played before.
“For all those reasons, I thought, yeah, this is great. Let’s do this. Let’s try and make it.”

Harry Styles is clueless about acting

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles has “no idea” what he is doing in the acting world.
The pop superstar features in the new movie ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ but confessed that he feels out of his comfort zone as an actor.
Harry told reporters at the Venice Film Festival: “Music I’ve done a lot longer so I’m a bit more comfortable. What I like about acting is I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing.”
The ‘As It Was’ singer explained that he considers music and acting to be “opposite in a lot of ways”, but he embraces the “fun” sense of the unknown that comes with both professions.
Harry, 28, said: “Making music is a really personal thing.
“There are aspects of acting where you’re drawing from experiences a bit, but for the most part you’re pretending to play someone else.
“That’s what I find the most interesting about it. They can aid each other in a way. Any time you get to view the world through a different lens, it can help to create whichever way it goes. I find it really different. I think the fun part is that you never know what you’re doing in either one of them.”
The former One Direction star revealed that he plans to combine both music and acting going forward.
Styles explained: “I feel very lucky I get to do something I love as a job. I feel like being able to explore this has made me feel even luckier I get to do two things I really enjoy.
“In terms of the future… I enjoy both. It’s all fun to play in both worlds and see how they affect each other.”

Thomas and Friends introduces first ever autistic character

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Thomas and Friends’ is introducing the show’s first autistic character.
The hugely popular children’s TV series – which is produced by Mattel – is set to introduce a new engine called Bruno, who has been developed in collaboration with he Autism Self Advocacy Network (US), and autistic writers and figures.
The character will be voiced in new episodes by nine-year-old actor Elliott Garcia, who is also autistic.
He said: “He can flap his ladders to tell you if he’s upset or if he’s really excited, so he can use his items to show you how he’s feeling.
“His ear defenders, I do relate to, because if there’s a really loud noise, I can’t cope. I can get quite worried about things, I have to think of new strategies, same as Bruno.
“When I won the role of Bruno, I imagined that it was a dream, but it wasn’t! I felt really excited and happy.
“It’s great that they are representing autistic characters because I watch the ‘Thomas Friends’ series and for there to be an autistic character makes me feel very happy and excited.”
In ‘Thomas and Friends: All Engines Go’, Bruno is a pun-making, joyful brake car who is good at his job and uses his strong brakes to keep heavy cargo steady.
He also rolls in reverse, giving him a unique perspective on the world.
Elliott added: “Bruno is a Brake Car, and he is a new friend for Thomas and his friends, and he’s also autistic, like me. He is funny, smart, and he’s a very relaxed character.
“He can get really overwhelmed, he can get worried, and he uses comedy to get past situations. Bruno loves schedules and timetables and when everything goes to plan.”
Tom Purser, Head of Guidance, Volunteering Campaigns at the National Autistic Society, added: “It’s important that everyone sees autistic characters on our screens because there are 160,000 school-age autistic children in the UK and they want to see their stories told, but it’s also important that non-autistic children get insight and understanding into what it can be like to be autistic.
“What Elliot brings to this role is his joy and enthusiasm, his autistic experiences and he just brings the character to life.”
Bruno will be seen on ‘Thomas and Friends: All Engines Go!’ on Channel 5 Milkshake! from 21st September at 7.00am.
Brake Car Bruno is available now and will also be included in a range of products available later in the year.

Danny Dyer feared he’d die without help

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer feared he would die if he didn’t seek help after his marriage hit the rocks.
The 45-year-old actor begged ‘EastEnders’ bosses to give him a break in 2017 so he could take time out to get his life back on track amid difficulties in his relationship with Joanne Mas.
He recalled: “I turned around to the bosses of ‘EastEnders’ and I said, ‘Listen, I’ve gotta go somewhere. I’m going to die’.
“They was like, ‘Oh, OK. Uh, right’. And so I sorted it myself and I paid for it myself…
“I knew I had to f****** sort myself out because I’d been — sorry about me language — I’d been a **** up to this point in the sense of what I was doing, what I was doing away from her, some of the situations I would find myself in.”
“I look back and go, ‘F****** hell man, I was weak’.
“I was wounded. I was vulnerable because I was, but of course I couldn’t play vulnerable because I’m playing Danny Dyer, whatever that is.”
Danny – who has children Dani, 26, Sunnie, 15, and Arty, eight, with his wife – admitted he was taking anti-anxiety medication to cope at the time.
Speaking to Jaime Winstone on her podcast ‘Greatest Night Ever’, he added: “So I’m a bad boy, f*****, you know, whatever. And I quite like playing it, but you know, the amount of f****** Diazepam I was on at the time, I was just munching.”
The ‘Football Factory’ star admitted fame had never “suited” him and he eventually lost sight of himself.
He said: “Fame never suited me. I was always f****** gonna be going down the wrong path. So I lost the plot for many years and I was a f****** lunatic.
“I became a sort of a cartoon character. I created it, don’t get me wrong. I got wrapped up in that and I sort of lost who I was, really.
“I was doing s*** loads of f****** drugs. I was searching for some-thing. There was a hole in me and I couldn’t work out what the f*** it was.”
And when he sought help, Danny wanted a facility that would leave his ego “broken down” so he could take back control of his own life.
He said: “OK, this is it, you’re gonna lose all this. You’re gonna be a shadow of the man that you are, you are gonna f*** everything up. You’re gonna have no relationship with your kids.
“This was my moment where I went, ‘Right’. I was just trying to f****** drag me a** over the line.
“I didn’t want fresh linen. I didn’t want a Priory-type gaff.
“I’m not knocking the Priory. I understand it. I needed to be down on a floor, scrubbing khazis and just broken down completely, because what I’ve recognised is ego.
“We need an ego. It’s very important to us, right? Because it keeps us alive. It keeps us sharp . . . you need your ego.
“But sometimes your ego starts to make decisions for you and you’ve gotta know when it’s you making decisions or your f***ing ego.”

After playing a version of himself in ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ and Dracula in the upcoming ‘Renfield’, Cage previously admitted he is “excited” to have been offered more comedy roles recently – although he is also keen to spread his wings further and would jump at the opportunity to star in a musical.
He said: “Right now, I’m excited that the comedy is back on the menu. It hasn’t been there for, gosh, 15 years. That’s nice that I may have the opportunity to do more comedy.
“But I’ve never done a musical. That would be something that I would be curious about.”

Kim Kardashian wants Marvel movie role

The 41-year-old star has previously shown off her acting skills as guest host on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and in 2013 film ‘Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor’ and though she’s not “actively looking” for film work, she wouldn’t turn it down and would be particularly excited if she had the chance to appear in a superhero blockbuster.
She told Interview magazine: “Would I act? I would if something fun came about. Maybe a Marvel movie, that would be so fun to do. I’m not actively looking, but I think things just come when they’re supposed to.”
The Skims founder – who has North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three, with ex-husband Kanye West – admitted she has “a problem” when it comes to saying no to people, so hates being asked for favours, particularly because she doesn’t think people realise how much of her time they are taking up.
She admitted: “I do have a problem saying no to people, so I hate when people ask me for things.
“It’s like, ‘Hey, will you do this work thing, it’ll just be two seconds.’ And I’m like, ‘It’s not that easy. I’m coming from Calabasas, which is an hour each way.’ It takes about two hours in glam, so if someone asks me to do a five-minute cameo, it’s never just that.
“But, all my friends and family, no one ever really asks me for anything or needs anything. We’re all just cool.”
Kim has enjoyed huge success during her career, and she has massive following on social media, too.
However, the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star still struggles with her self-confidence.
She said: “It’s so weird. I have a problem being super confident. I’ve always been more self-deprecating, and I get shy when it comes to, ‘Describe yourself. Talk about yourself.’ Things like that.”

Kiernan Shipka cast in Red One

OHMYGOSSIP — Kiernan Shipka is to star in ‘Red One’.
The 22-year-old actress will feature with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Chris Evans in Amazon Prime Video’s Christmas movie.
The film is being directed by Jake Kasdan and has been billed as a globe-trotting, action-adventure comedy imagining a whole new universe to explore in the holiday genre.

“I took for granted playing a character and always being aware there was lots to come.

Despite being catapulted to stardom at a very young age, Kiernan claims that she was still able to have a “normal” childhood.
She explained: “I was lucky – I lived the most normal childhood that I could have, given my circumstances.
“My friends’ parents were more concerned with my acting than my friends were.

“I learned to handle it the right way.”

Peppa Pig introduces lesbian couple

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Peppa Pig’ has introduced the show’s first same-sex couple.
The pre-school cartoon show – which has been on air since 2004 and focuses on a family of anthropomorphic pigs as well as the other animals in their town – has now featured a polar bear named Penny who has two mothers.
In the episode aired on Tuesday (06.09.22), Penny said: “I’m Penny Polar Bear. I live with my mummy and my other mummy. One mummy is a doctor and one mummy cooks spaghetti. I love spaghetti.”
Following the episode, Robbie de Santos from gay charity Stonewall was quick to heap praise on the producers of the Channel 5 cartoon, noting that some parents and children alike will appreciate being “represented” on such an “iconic” programme.
He told The Sun: “It’s fantastic that same-sex families are making an appearance in Peppatown. Many of those who watch the show will have two mums or two dads themselves and it will mean a lot that their experiences are being represented on such an iconic children’s programme.”
News of the new characters comes after a petition was launched which called for a same-sex couple to be introduced and has so far gained 23,892 out of a target of 25,000 signatures.
A description on thepentionsite.com read: ” despite there being six series and over 250 episodes produced so far, none of the families feature same-sex parents.
“Children watching Peppa Pig are at an impressionable age, and excluding same-sex families will teach them that only families with either a single parent or two parents of different sexes are normal. This means that children of same-sex parents may feel alienated by Peppa Pig, and that other children may be more likely to bully them, simply through ignorance.”

Gabby Logan’s husband diagnosed with prostate cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabby Logan’s husband has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The 49-year-old presenter has been married to retired Scottish rugby union player Kenny, 50, since 2001 , explained that she was “shocked” to learn back in February that her husband was symptom-free and still training right up until the day before he had to go an operation.
She said: “I think that was the shocking thing for both of us, that the day before he went in for his operation, I’m jumping forwards a bit, he’d done a bike session. He had no pain, he had no symptoms. And to go in and have surgery, which is a really invasive surgery and it obviously takes a long time to recover from, you’re going to feel a lot worse after it. But very, very, very lucky.”
The former Wasps player – who has twins Lois and Reuben, 17, with his TV star wife – explained that he went for an ordinary checkup and “literally fell over” when a biopsy revealed he had cancer.
Speaking on ‘The Mid Point with Gabby Logan’, he said: ““I went to get a wellness check. I sat down with the guy and he said ‘Everything’s fine, your hormones are fine, but your PSA [prostate-specific antigen] is high.’ I said, ‘What does that mean?’. He said, ‘It’s to do with your prostate, you should probably get checked’. So I got checked and very quickly within about three or four months I had a biopsy and they said, ‘There’s something there but we’ll just keep an eye on it’.
“It’s hard because when you’re told you’ve got cancer — I literally fell over. I didn’t see it coming, no symptoms whatsoever, I had to go looking for it.”
Kenny was given the choice of radiotherapy or surgery and explained that he is very nearly back to normal after having his prostate removed completely.
He added: “I ended up deciding to take it out. So I’m now three months since the operation, had the prostate out. And I’m probably 95 per cent back to normal, maybe 90% back to normal.”

Timothée Chalamet says Bones and All shines a light on societal collapse

OHMYGOSSIP — Timothée Chalamet says “to be young now is to be intensely judged”.
The 26-year-old actor stars in Luca Guadagnino’s coming-of-age romantic horror road film ‘Bones And All’ and he revealed part of what attracted him to the movie was the lack of social media used by his character.
He told Deadline: “To be young now is to be intensely judged. It was a relief to play characters who are wrestling with an internal dilemma absent the ability to go on Reddit or Twitter or Instagram or TikTok and figure out where they fit in. Without casting judgment on that, because if you can find your tribe there, then all the power. But I think it’s tough to be alive now. I think societal collapse is in the air, it smells like it, and without being pretentious, I hope that’s why these movies matter because that’s the role of the artist is to shine a light on what’s going on.”
Chalamet (Lee) stars in the movie alongside Taylor Russell (Maren), as two unlikely companions who bond over their shared compulsion to eat human flesh and Chalamet said making the movie during the COVID-19 pandemic, helped them to portray the sense of isolation felt by their characters.
He said: “A big part of it was a tribelessness, was being cut off from the social contact that helps us understand where we are in the world… Not that we’re attention hungry narcissistic beings, but nonetheless you need that contact to understand where you are and I felt a similar disillusionment that I think Lee was feeling in the script at that point.”
