He said: “It was something I always wanted to do.

George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon ‘reunite for new Ocean’s movie’

OHMYGOSSIP — George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon are reportedly reuniting for a new ‘Ocean’s’ movie.
The Hollywood trio previously starred together in the 2007 heist movie, ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’, and they’re now poised to reunite for the latest film in the money-spinning franchise.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Rumours of a film starring George, Brad and Matt have swirled for years but the timing was off and their jam-packed schedules meant that it was just not possible.
“Finally the right team for the job has come together in a bid to make it a huge success and the main stars thought it would be good fun to revisit.
“The franchise is hugely popular and the brilliant storyline was an opportunity that was too good to miss.”
Matt, 51, previously confirmed that he was open to starring in another ‘Ocean’s’ movie.
However, he insisted that the future of the franchise was in the hands of director Steven Soderbergh.
Matt – who played con man Linus Caldwell in the ‘Ocean’s’ trilogy – said: “It would always be up to Steven Soderbergh if there was a story.”
The actor also conceded that the situation was complicated by the deaths of his late co-stars, Bernie Mac – who passed away in 2008, aged 50 – and Carl Reiner, who died in 2020, aged 98.
Matt described the cast of the franchise as a “depleted gang”.
He explained: “We have lost a couple of our members, so we would have to figure it out – we are a depleted gang now.”
Meanwhile, Don Cheadle previously suggested that he won’t make another ‘Ocean’s’ movie.
The actor – who played the part of Basher Tarr – said: “We were talking about it, and then Bernie passed, and very quickly we were like, ‘No, we don’t want to do it.’”

Peaky Blinders film ‘will hit cinema screens in 2024’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Peaky Blinders’ fans will have to wait two more years for the movie version of the TV drama series.
The BBC show – which starred Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson and Tom Hardy – ended earlier this year, but creator Steven Knight has revealed that the film will hit cinema screens in 2024.
He said: “The film is definitely happening. I’m writing the script at the moment. I am in the process of writing.
“As soon as that’s finished, we will go into production.”
The TV series centred on a gang called the Peaky Blinders, who were active in Birmingham between the 1880s and 1910s.
Cillian, 46 – who played the part of Tommy Shelby in the hit crime drama – is set to reprise his role for the movie, and Steven is already looking forward to reuniting with the acclaimed actor.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “It is phenomenal and he’s a phenomenal actor and human being.
“It’s fantastic to know he will be around for the film.”
Earlier this year, Steven admitted to having a “very specific story” in mind for the film project.
He shared: “I know what the story is and I’m writing at the moment.
“It’s a very specific story, that’s based on a true story from the Second World War and will be told in the ‘Peaky’ way.”
Cillian also confirmed he was keen to star in the movie.
He said: “I’d be as excited as anybody to read a script. But I think it’s good for everyone to have a little break. That’s always a healthy thing and then we can regroup.
“Steve is an insanely busy and in-demand writer, but I know that he loves writing ‘Peaky’ above all. He adores it. So I think when the time comes, if there’s more story to be told, I’ll be there.”

Lisa Riley: I won’t wear Mandy’s clothes away from Emmerdale

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Riley says she can’t “wear leopard print” in real life because of her ‘Emmerdale’ character Mandy Dingle.
The ‘Emmerdale’ star refuses to dress like her larger-than-life alter ego – a character she has played on and off since 1995 – when she’s not on set, because it draws too much attention to her when she is living her day-to-day life.
She said: “I can’t wear leopard print as myself.”
Lisa departed the show in 2000 to explore other avenues, but she returned in 2019 and she admits it’s been a blast because she knows the writers on the ITV soap will never give her “boring” plots.
Speaking to My Weekly magazine, she said: “After all these years, the writers never tire of Mandy. I get excited when I get the scripts and I know I’m never going to have a boring story.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant also loves how her character will do anything to have a laugh in the Yorkshire Dales.
Lisa said: ‘Comedy wise there’s nothing Mandy hasn’t done. I’ve been in a skip. I’ve been in a bin, I’ve been in everything! There’s nothing that she hasn’t done and for that very reason alone it’s very exciting. Moving forward it’s going to be even more exciting.”
The former ‘Fat Friends’ star admitted to feeling “cemented” in the soap as it gears up to mark its five decades of being on air.
Lisa shared: “It’s amazing to celebrate 50 years. I’m the longest serving Dingle female and I’m so proud. I look at the show – and the clump in the middle – I genuinely feel like I never left. I feel so cemented in the show.”

Pregnant Mollie King needed naps when filming Beauty and the Geek

OHMYGOSSIP — Mollie King needed to have naps when she was filming ‘Beauty and the Geek’ because her pregnancy made her so tired.
The former Saturdays singer hid her pregnancy from her co-host Matt Edmondson, 36, while they filmed the Discovery Plus UK reboot of the American makeover dating show which aims to match up “attractive” ladies with “nerdy” fellas.
The 35-year-old presenter – who is still expecting her baby with England cricketer Stuart Broad – would find herself sapped of energy during the day’s shooting so she would sneak off for a moral boosting sleep.
Speaking to Heat magazine, she shared: “Between every scene, I’d go for a quick nap. When I eventually told him, I said ‘I’m sure you already know this, but I’m actually pregnant’ and he just went, ‘WHAT?’”
Matt quipped: “I’ve got two children myself, so you’d think I’d know…”
The pair also work together on BBC Radio 1 and Mollie believes that the fact they are such close friends and get on so well helped the daters on the show.
Mollie said: “We think that we are fantastic. Also, because we are best friends, we work really well together.”
Matt added: “We actually got some real relationships out of it, so I would say we did pretty well overall! When we weren’t filming, the cast were ushered into separate rooms, but sometimes you’d catch them where they weren’t supposed to be – holding hands or something – and Mollie and I would get so excited.”
The ‘Dress to Impress’ voiceover star called the show “life-changing” for many involved and not like other more exploitative dating programmes.
Matt said: “It’s just such a lovely cast. There’s no nastiness, no undertones just to create drama. This show was life-changing for our cast and for us. I thought I had a heart of stone but I ugly cried when everyone was talking about what being on the show had done for them.”
Mollie added: “What other shows are there where the cast still genuinely want to hang out with each other after the show?”

Aldis Hodge was ‘amazed that 007 icon Pierce Brosnan still enjoys making movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Aldis Hodge was “amazed” that Pierce Brosnan still gets “excited” about making movies.
The 35-year-old actor stars as Hawkman alongside the James Bond legend – who plays Doctor Fate – in the upcoming DC Comics movie ‘Black Adam’ – and recalled a conversation they had together when they were shooting where he became amazed that Pierce still gets “excited” about being on set.
He said: “He really is just, I mean, salt of the earth, really the best, best. And the thing is, he was excited about this too, equally excited. The thing I remember most candidly, is a conversation we had when we got on the ship. You all saw a ship in the trailer, it’s there. But we got on the ship. And you know, he’s just looking at it every day. I’m looking at this brother. And he’s just, “oh, look at this cool. This is cool.” And I’m like, bro, you are 007. I was talking to him about how to maintain the joy because I’m like, you’ve been through so much, and you’re still excited? Like, how do you do that?”
The ‘What Men Want’ star went on to explain that Pierce is the kind of actor he looks up to and described the ‘Mamma Mia!’ actor as a “gracious kind of brother.”
He told Collider: “Because I want to be able to maintain that and not get jaded through the process. So we had a great conversation about wonderment, being able to keep your joy, and maintaining just your sense. Exactly. And he’s just that gracious kind of brother.”
‘Black Adam’ is set to be released in cinemas on October 21.

Weird Al gave Daniel Radcliffe accordion lessons

OHMYGOSSIP — Weird Al advised Daniel Radcliffe how to play the accordion for ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story’.
The 33-year-old actor stars as the parody musician in the new biopic and was critiqued most by Al on his technique with the musical instrument, even though there was a lot of “freedom” in the fact that he is not doing a solid impersonation.
He said: “I think definitely a lot of license and freedom was given by the fact that it’s not just a straight Al biopic and impersonation. That, I think, gave me a lot of freedom to be like, okay, this is a version of this person. And I’m also really lucky that Al’s nice! And that he wasn’t sitting on set like a hawk being like, ‘Ah, you did that wrong.’ He’s very, very generous. Most of the notes that I got from him were musical, and particularly about the accordion. He was like, ‘Can you be a bit more expansive in how you’re pumping it? Because you’re a bit cautious with that,’ and he’s very expressive with it. .”
The ‘Harry Potter’ star went on to explain that the ‘White and Nerdy’ hitmaker – whose real name is Alfred Matthew Yankovic
– was “concerned” that he would make him come across “shy” on screen but found a sense of “approval” when he saw he had made the comedy songwriter laugh.
but He told Collider: “So, I think he was a bit concerned that I was gonna make him look like a shy accordionist. So yeah, there was that, but generally speaking, it was intimidating but also when you would see him laugh at something, you’d be like, ‘Okay, great! I can go home.’ It’s a very good seal of approval.”

Susanna Reid waited over seven hours to pay her respects to late Queen Elizabeth

OHMYGOSSIP — Susanna Reid waited in line for over seven hours to pay her respects to Queen Elizabeth lying in state at Westminster Hall.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter joined the queue to see late monarch – who died on September 8 at the age of 96 – with her “lovely mum and her very good friend” and she is happy that she sacrificed her time to “experience a moment in history”.
Posting on Twitter, she said: “Evening – along with my lovely mum and her very good friend, I have just experienced a moment in history – witnessing the Queen lying in state in Westminster Hall. At once majestic and peaceful.”
When asked how long she had queued for by one follower, Susanna replied: “7 hours 20 mins.”
Susanna, 51, then shared a thread of tips for people who are planning to also travel to London to also pay their respects to the monarch – who reigned over Britain and the Commonwealth for 70 years.
She tweeted: “If you are planning to queue here are our tips. We joined at 1.23pm near Butlers Wharf and entered Westminster Hall at 8.43pm – 7 hours 20 mins. Wear the comfiest shoes you own. Go with someone if you can, although everyone in the queue was friendly.
“Don’t carry too much in a bag – water is freely available and there are lots of cafes along the route. Also plenty of toilets. I put my phone on low battery mode and it lasted the entire time.
“The first part of the queue is for wristbands. Ours were given out at Tower Bridge about an hour after we began queuing. There is no queue jumping – people waited patiently for wristbands and once you have one you can leave the queue for snacks/loo stops slip back in.
“Queue tips contd: while the longest part may geographically be from the start in Southwark, to Victoria Gardens (next to the Houses of Parliament) prepare to wait in Victoria Tower Gardens on the N side of Lambeth Bridge for around 3 hours in a zig-zag queue.
“There are lots of portaloos along the route – at least every hour. The team keeping them clean deserve medals. Take loo roll. Carry wet wipes for hands – not sanitiser as it will be confiscated by security. Any liquids are thrown away at security even 100ml.
“Once you enter Westminster Hall, it is worth every minute of The Queue. Utterly magnificent. Quiet. Respectful. Historic.”
However, those hoping to pay their final respects to Queen Elizabeth now face a wait to even join the line as the queue has been closed for at least six hours.
Shortly before 10am on Friday (16.09.22) government officials released a statement informing members of the public that they cannot join the line at the moment, with a further update expected later in the afternoon.
A messaged shared by the Department of Culture, Media, and Sport stated: “HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN’S LYING-IN-STATE QUEUE UPDATE, 09:50 AM, 16 Sept
“Southwark Park has reached capacity. Entry will be paused for at least 6 hours. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
“Please do not attempt to join the queue until it re-opens.
“Check back for further updates.”
At 8am, the estimated queuing time was 11 hours, but just an hour later, mourners were warned they would be in the line for roughly 14 hours before being admitted into Westminster Hall.
People began queuing to see the queen’s coffin on Monday evening (12.09.22) ahead of admittance on Wednesday (14.09.22) at 5pm.
In the early hours of Thursday (15.09.22) morning, officials made the decision to have two queues inside the building filing past the coffin on two sides in order to reduce waiting times.
And members of the public wishing to pay their respects to the monarch have been warned they need to be in the queue by 12.30am on Monday (19.09.22) in order to make it into Westminster Hall before it closes at 6.30am, hours before her funeral is due to take place.

Sam Mendes says Olivia Colman has the same star power as Dame Judi Dench

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Mendes says Olivia Colman shares the same star power as Dame Judi Dench.
The ‘Empire of Light’ director – who has worked with both actress – thinks they are alike because they are both “accessible” while being “slightly mysterious”.
The 57-year-old director told Deadline: ”Olivia’s like Judi in that she’s accessible and yet also slightly mysterious. She’s very friendly, always delightful to see her, but there’s something held back, too. A little core is very private. She’s not an extrovert, not an exhibitionist; she’s very guarded actually. Certainly since the Oscar. I think she had to recalibrate her life as people do when they become that level of famous. It’s frightening; I’ve lived through it too, to a degree, but not as a famous face.”
Sam – who directed the now 87-year-old thespian in ‘The Cherry Orchard’ and in his two Bond movies ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre’ – told Olivia, 48, that he wrote his new film with her in mind via Zoom.
Recalling the video call he had with ‘The Favourite’ star, he said: “Look, I’m writing something for you.”
Sam gave Olivia the rundown of what he had in mind for the project – which also stars Roger Deakins, Michael Ward and Tanya Moodie – which debuted at the Toronto Film Festival.
He said: “I told her it’s a love story of sorts and I talked about how personal it is, and how much it’s drawn from my own life. The upshot of it is that I got a very powerful sense of her.”
The ‘American Beauty’ director found the chat with the Academy Award winner as what he “needed” to finish the screenplay.
Sam said: “That’s all I needed, I just needed a blast of her really. When I got off the Zoom I knew which way to go with this and so I completed it.”

Idris Elba wants Luther movie to spark James Bond style franchise

OHMYGOSSIP — Idris Elba hopes his ‘Luther’ movie will be the start of his own James Bond style action franchise.
The 50-year-old actor is bringing the BBC crime series – written by Neil Cross – to the big screen, and shooting has wrapped on the project.
Idris has long been linked to the role of 007, and has reportedly been considered for the part again following Daniel Craig’s decision to step away from the series, but he believes DCI John Luther’s first foray into cinemas will be the start of his own blockbuster series that can rival the exploits of Bond.
Speaking on the ‘Jemele Hill is Unbothered’ podcast, he said: “It’s incredible, it’s like graduating. The television show ran a natural course, we did five seasons and each one of them shape-shifted but kept an audience captivated for 10 years. The graduation point is where we get to take that Luther character and elevate him to the big screen with a wider spectrum of scale, stories we can tell, maybe even take it international in terms of who Luther is. It’s a huge achievement for all of us who have written it. Also what I’m happy about is that I saw the film, we shot the film, and if you’ve never seen an episode of Luther you can still be invited into the first chapter of the film series, I’m hoping that this movie literally becomes my Bond, everyone talks about Bond but, for me, it’s Luther.”
Meanwhile, Idris recently admitted he wants to make more movies in Africa.
The British star’s latest film ‘Beast’ was shot in South Africa and sees his character Dr. Nate Samuels battle a rogue lion hunting him and his daughters.
Idris – whose mother and father hail from Ghana and Sierra Leone respectively – now has the ambition to develop the industry in Africa.
He said: “I’m really keen on the development of Africa. My parents come from Africa and more than anywhere in the world, I feel like that continent deserves some real tender care and love and thought.
“Young Africans view me as a leader or a beacon. And I feel like I could bring something. So I’m keen to bring what I’ve learned in media and amplify it in Africa.”
“I’m a fan of the Nigerian (film) industry. I’m a fan of the South African industry. Ghana has a very small industry. And I’m a fan of the content creators in Africa, especially West Africa.
“These kids that have these smartphones are making incredible content. And I feel like it’s overlooked. So I’m really a fan of trying to harness that and help that grow.”

Warren Furman admits ‘pressures of fame’ ruined romance with Katie Price

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Gladiators’ star Warren Furman thinks the “pressures of fame” ruined his relationship with Katie Price.
The 50-year-old bodybuilder – who was known as Ace on the hit TV show – had an 18-month relationship with Katie in the 90s, but he struggled to deal with life in the public eye.
He confessed: “We were both equally to blame for the breakdown of our relationship.”
Warren and Katie struggled to maintain their romance as they were both busy with their careers at the time.
He told The Sun newspaper: “We were very similar people, we came from working-class backgrounds and we got on very well, but the pressures of fame cursed the relationship in a lot of ways.”
Warren and Katie actually separated on good terms. And the TV star now acknowledges that he was too busy seeking fame and success to make their romance work.
He said: “My idol was Arnold Schwarzenegger. He’s a man just conquering the world with big muscles.
“I thought that’s what I would do – I’d go to Hollywood and become a movie star. Another Gladiator, Trojan – Mark Griffin – had done that. He got to Hollywood and was appearing in movies with the likes of Jean Claude Van Damme.”
‘Gladiators’ was axed in 2000 and Warren subsequently turned to alcohol and cigarettes.
He recalled: “I was an athlete and sportsman on a TV show that required me to be fit, but I started to pick up some habits that I never thought I would ever, like smoking and drinking alcohol, and quite a lot of it.”
Warren felt that his “destructive choices” were “slowing killing” him at one point in time. However, he’s now got his life back on track, and he hopes that Katie can follow suit, having gone through some high-profile personal problems in recent years.
He said: “I pray for her because in that lifestyle of hers it’s very difficult to keep on the straight and narrow, and it’s very difficult to trust people. I pray that her family can stay together and I pray that she can settle down and find peace and happiness.”

Doctor Who centenary special title revealed to be The Power of the Doctor

OHMYGOSSIP — The title of the ‘Doctor Who’ centenary special has been revealed to be ‘The Power of the Doctor’.
The adventure – which is part of the BBC’s celebrations to mark 100 years of broadcasting – will be Jodie Whittaker’s final outing as the Thirteenth Doctor and the end of the episode is expected to see her regenerate into the Fourteenth Doctor, played by ‘Sex Education’ star Ncuti Gatwa, although his appearance has not yet been confirmed.
The title was revealed in the new issue of Doctor Who Magazine, which includes a 20-page special on Jodie’s last trip in the TARDIS.
In the episode, the Time Lord will battle three of the most deadliest foes that exist in the universe; the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Master (Sacha Dhawan).
The special will also see the return of actresses Janet Fielding and Sophie Aldred as their respective companions Tegan and Ace.
Air stewardess Tegan travelled with the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) and Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison) and featured in 64 episodes, while Ace shared the TARDIS with the Seventh Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) and appeared in 31 episodes and holds the distinction of being the final companion of the classic series which was taken off air in 1989.
Showrunner Chris Chibnall – who is also leaving the BBC One show at the same time as Jodie – has described ‘The Power of the Doctor’ as an “epic and emotional send-off for the Thirteenth Doctor”.
He previously said: “Jodie’s final feature-length story contains a plethora of treats and surprises for audiences and fans, not least the return of two of the most beloved companions in the show’s history.
“They’ll be helping the Doctor fight on three fronts, against her deadliest enemies: the Master, Daleks and Cybermen, in one huge story!
“For the BBC’s centenary, we’ll be celebrating the past, present and future of Doctor Who, in a fittingly thrilling, epic and emotional send-off for the Thirteenth Doctor.”
Russell T Davies is returning as ‘Doctor Who’ showrunner following ‘Broadchurch’ writer Chibnall’s exit. The ‘It’s A Sin’ scribe was the man responsible to bringing the sci-fi series back to screens in 2005 and making it a ratings hit.
Filming has already begun on the 60th anniversary ‘Doctor Who’ specials which will precede the fourteenth series and it is known that Russell, 59, has brought back Tenth Doctor David Tennant and his companion Donna – played by Catherine Tate – for the highly-anticipated adventures.
‘The Power of the Doctor’ is due to air on BBC One in October.
episode is expected to end with the Thirteenth Doctor’s regeneration, with preparing to take over the TARDIS alongside returning showrunner Russell T Davies.

Martin Clunes didn’t want ‘repetitive’ show

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Clunes didn’t want ‘Doc Martin’ to get “repetitive”.
The 61-year-old actor has played the titular character since 2004 but the series is set to end after its current 10th series and he thinks it is the right time to finish the programme before viewers get tired of it.
Asked why it is ending, he told Woman’s Weekly magazine: “Because we’d only start getting repetitive.
“We were very conscious of wanting to close the circle rather than allowing it to drift into being an ongoing soap opera.”
And Martin admitted he was surprised the programme has proven so popular for so long.
He said: “I couldn’t have predicted it would take off in the way that it did.
“I think it may have something to do with the fact there are no murders or rapes or darkness in it.”
The actor’s wife Philippa Braithwaite is a producer on the show but Martin insisted it has never been a problem for them working together and he thinks she has a much more difficult job than he does.
He said: “[It’s] not really [tricky] and we anyway have very different jobs.
“As the producer, I always maintain there’s os much pressure on Philippa to deliver eight hours of television on time to the network.”
After turning 60 last year, the former ‘Men Behaving Badly’ star admitted he wasn’t very happy, but he’s trying to count his blessings.
Asked if he minded turning 60, he said: “I did rather, although I suppose I’ll get used to it. The free prescriptions help!
“I still get a thrill when I see my wife walk on set. I have a daughter I’m constantly amazed by, the bravest person I know. And I live on this glorious farm in Dorset. I’m a very fortunate man.”

Hocus Pocus director says it was ‘daunting’ doing a sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hocus Pocus’ director Anne Fletcher found it “daunting” making the sequel.
The 56-year-old filmmaker is at the helm of the upcoming comedy horror movie – which is a follow-up to the original 1993 classic and set to launch on Disney+ on September 30.
It sees Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker reprise their roles as the Sanderson sisters.
And Anne admitted she was “scared” of getting it wrong and upsetting the hardcore ‘Hocus Pocus’ fanbase.
She told SFX magazine: “It’s a daunting task to take on something like this with the fandom, because you don’t want to blow it.
“It is very scary, I’ve never done a sequel.”
The helmer only agreed to do the second film because it has the backstories of the witches, and the “second scare” is a thrill.
She added: “The opening of our movie is a prologue to our young witches – and that is the reason I took the movie because I’m very, very much about backstories and truth and grounding.
“Those are the things that I love the most – within the grounding you can be silly and stupid, and over the top and crazy.
“But now the fans get a little peek into the earlier years of our witches.
“Which to me is a blast.
“So I took the movie for that particular reason.
“The second reason is the second scare in the movie is so much fun.”
