Matt Goss was ‘very reclusive’ before signing up for Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Goss signed up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because he was becoming “very reclusive”.
The Bros singer has loved spending the last decade performing in Las Vegas but it was starting to make him feel “really empty”, so when he was approached to take part in the Latin and ballroom contest, he felt it was just what he needed to pull him out of the rut he’d ended up in.
He said: “The 11 years in Vegas was an incredible experience, and to be a headliner there is an honour, but I wasn’t happy at the end. And I found myself just doing shows, and on the way home I’d be feeling really empty.
“As a singer, it’s very hard to say that, because singing is my joy. It’s my peace. And I felt disconnected, and I knew that I’d become very reclusive.
“It just so happened that I made the decision, after the success of my last record, to come back to the UK. Strictly called, and I thought, ‘if I don’t do this, in a way, I’m just going to go back to my comfort zone of just working…’.
“I’ve gone through grief, and I just wanted to live a bit more and be happy. And ‘Strictly’… it’s a joy.”
Matt is already showing his competitive side, admitting he “isn’t here to lose”.
He added: “I am bloody nervous though. I’m certainly not here to lose, I want to win.”
The 53-year-old singer insisted his musical background is more likely to be a disadvantage than beneficial when it comes to preparing for the show.
Referring to fellow contestant and pop star Fleur East, he told reporters: “The very thing that’s going to be a hindrance to us is the fact we’re not told, ‘you must put your foot there, leave it there, you must move this way, you must do this…’
“The reason we didn’t want proper jobs is because we don’t like to be told what to do on stage. And when you do it for so long, it is a hard habit to break.”

Margot Robbie horrified by Barbie photo leak

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie was “mortified” when photos leaked from the set of ‘Barbie’.
The 32-year-old actress was “dying on the inside” while shooting scenes with Ryan Gosling in neon spandex costumes for Greta Gerwig’s upcoming movie and was horrified by how much of a social media sensation the paparazzi pictures became.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on ‘The Tonight Show’, she said: “I can’t tell you how mortified we were, by the way.
“We look like we’re like laughing and having fun, but we’re dying on the inside. Dying. I was like, this is the most humiliating moment of my life.”
Asked if she expected the pictures to dominate the internet in the way that they did, she added: “No! I mean, I knew that we had some exteriors to shoot in L.A. I knew once you were doing exteriors, you’re gonna get papped.
“There’s probably going to be a little crowd of people who are going to take notice because, you know, we stand out a little bit in those outfits. So I knew there was going to be a little bit of attention, and probably some photos would get out there, but not like it did.
“It was like mad. It was like hundreds of people watching all time.”
Margot recently insisted the movie won’t be what people are expecting.
She said: “It comes with a lot of baggage! And a lot of nostalgic connections. But with that come a lot of exciting ways to attack it. People generally hear ‘Barbie’ and think, ‘I know what that movie is going to be,’ and then they hear that Greta Gerwig is writing and directing it, and they’re like, ‘Oh, well, maybe I don’t’.”
And the Australian actress’ co-star, Emma Mackey, previously explained the cast – which also includes America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Scott Evans, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera and Ncuti Gatwa – had bonded on sleepovers.
The ‘Sex Education’ star told Empire magazine: “Right in the beginning, we had a sleepover for the Barbies, which would involve playing games with Scott and Ncuti.”
Emma added of playing ping pong: “I don’t play games usually, because I get so competitive and angry. But Scott and I were top of the game.”

Whoopi Goldberg and Jenifer Lewis ‘so ready’ to film Sister Act 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Whoopi Goldberg and Jenifer Lewis are “so ready” to film ‘Sister Act 3’.
The 66-year-old star – who plays Deloris Van Cartier in the film franchise – admitted she will “do everything I can” to join forces with Lewis again in the third movie, which is to be released on Disney+.
Speaking to Lewis on ‘The View’, Goldberg said: “You know we’re still going to do that movie.
“And I’d do everything I can to work with her because she’s fun.”
Lewis, who starred as Michelle in the 1992 original ‘Sister Act’ film, revealed she encouraged Goldberg to use her own singing voice in the movie.
She said: “They were going to use my voice and I told Whoopi, ‘Look, you just get in this mirror with the two of us, and you just get a hairbrush and pretend that we’re 15 years old singing Gladys Knight and the Pips.’ and Whoopi did it, she sang her little booty off.”
The original motion picture saw Goldberg’s character, lounge singer Van Cartier, forced to join a convent after being placed in a witness protection programme.
‘Sister Act 3’ producer Tyler Perry recently admitted the forthcoming film is about Goldberg “more than anything”.
He said: “It’s more Whoopi than anything. I wanted it to be the experience that I had watching both of them. I want everybody who watches it to feel that way coming out of the theatre, to feel that sense of good in life.
“And as far as Whoopi goes too, because I just want to make sure that she was honouring Deloris and honouring the ladies and the nuns, and what they had done before, so, I’m pretty excited about the script. It’s going to be really, really phenomenal.”

Piers Morgan defends Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield over ‘queue-jump’ controversy

OHMYGOSSIP — Piers Morgan has defended Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield over their “queue-jump” controversy.
The former ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter has shot to the ‘This Morning’ co-hosts’ defence after they came under heavy criticism for appearing to “jump the queue” while visiting Westminster Hall as the late Queen Elizabeth was lying in state, which has prompted a petition for the pair to be “axed from TV”.
Speaking on his TalkTV show ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’, Piers said: “All hell broke loose about this, they have been subject to, I think, a ridiculously over-the-top campaign.
“20,000 people have signed a petition to have them fired. Of course they shouldn’t be fired, it’s ridiculous.
“It may have been a misjudgement. I said myself on this show, I don’t think anyone should have been jumping the queue full stop, whoever you are, unless you are a world leader and there is a time issue.”
At the time of writing, the online petition has been signed by more than 33,000 people.
Piers also admitted Holly has been left “absolutely distraught” by the reaction.
He said: “Full disclosure, I am a good friend with Holly and I feel very sorry, she is absolutely distraught I think about the reaction.”
But Phil and Holly defended themselves during yesterday’s ‘This Morning’.
Holly said: “Like hundreds of accredited broadcasters and journalists, we were given official permission to access the hall. It was strictly for the purpose of reporting on the event for millions of people in the UK who haven’t been able to visit Westminster in person.
“The rules were that we would be quickly escorted around the edges to a platform at the back. In contrast, those paying respect walked along a carpeted area beside the coffin and were given time to pause.
“None of the broadcasters and journalists there took anyone’s place in the queue, and no one filed past the queen. We of course respected those rules.
“However, we realise that it may have looked like something else, and therefore totally understand the reaction. Please know that we would never jump the queue.”
ITV had previously explained that the two stars were at Westminster “in a professional capacity”.
The broadcaster said: “Hello everyone, we would like to clarify something. We asked Phillip and Holly to be part of a film for this Tuesday’s programme.
“They did not jump the queue, have VIP access or file past the queen lying in state – but instead were there in a professional capacity as part of the world’s media to report on the event.”

Jacques O’Neill offered rugby return

OHMYGOSSIP — Jacques O’Neill has been offered a way back into rugby.
The former ‘Love Island’ star quit Castleford Tigers to join the ITV2 dating show line-up earlier this summer, but he has now been given the chance to represent his native Cumbria against Jamaica in a World Cup warm-up match on October 7th.
Speaking to BBC Radio Cumbria, Barrow Raiders head coach Paul Crarey said: “Jacques is definitely a Cumbrian and he would be an option if he wanted to play.
“He would probably bring people in to watch and raise the profile of Cumbrian rugby league.”
Jacques – who was born in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria – quit ‘Love Island’ before the end of the series because he wasn’t feeling himself on the show.
Following Jacques’ show exit in July, the star was offered support from his former rugby league club’s Welfare Officer.
A tweet on Castleford Tigers’ official Twitter account read: “Castleford Tigers can confirm that today, Jacques O’Neill has been in communication with the club, visited our First Team ahead of today’s training session and that O’Neill can receive support from our Welfare Officer should he wish.”
Castleford also admitted they were looking forward to welcoming Jacques and his mother to a game “very soon”.
A statement on their official website read: “In advance of appearing on the reality TV show Love Island, the Tigers’ Welfare Officer had communication with O’Neill, and this support will continue to be offered to him. Alongside the welcoming nature of our First Team environment, of which he has been a part since the age of 16.
“Castleford Tigers’ primary focus with Jacques at this stage will be to support him. All at the club look forward to welcoming Jacques and his mother Janet to The Mend-A-Hose Jungle for a Betfred Super League match very soon, to cheer on the Fords.
“The Club will make no further comment at this stage.”
In June, Castleford revealed Jacques had been released from his contract ahead of his ‘Love Island’ appearance, but they had the first option to sign the hooker back if he wanted to return to the sport.
A statement read: “Castleford Tigers can confirm that the club has agreed to release Jacques O’Neill from his contract to allow him to pursue another opportunity.
“The Tigers have the first option to sign O’Neill back next year should he wish to return to rugby league.
“Known for a fearless attitude on the field by Castleford supporters, the Cumbrian-born 23-year-old is a proud product of the Tigers’ youth system having come through both our scholarship and academy programmes before making his Super League debut.
“Castleford Tigers would like to wish Jacques well with his new opportunity and thank him for his efforts as a Tiger so far.”

Kelly Marie Tran starring in biopic about activist Amanda Nguyen

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Marie Tran is to star in a biopic about the civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen.
The ‘Star Wars’ actress will play her close friend in a feature that tells the story of Nguyen’s transformation from a survivor of sexual assault at college to an activist for survivors’ rights.
Amanda penned the Survivors’ Bill of Rights – which inspired the federal law passed in 2016 – and founded the civil rights organisation Rise.
Nguyen was present earlier this month at the United Nations session where the general assembly adopted a resolution to address justice for survivors of sexual violence, which Rise has helped to champion.
Tang Yi is in talks to write and direct the film, which is in the early stages of development. Nguyen and Tran are both set to be involved behind the camera as producers.
Kelly, 33, said in a statement: “Over the years, Amanda’s activism has changed the lives of billions, as she continues to make our world safer for sexual assault survivors everywhere.
“Her courage inspires me every day, and I am honoured to help tell her story.”
Nguyen added: “I am deeply grateful to Kelly Marie Tran, Madica Productions and Significant Productions for telling not only my story, but also the story of billions of survivors across the world who are fighting to have our voices heard and our rights recognised.”
The activist continued: “Stories are how we tell ourselves dreams are possible. Societal stigma silences rape survivors. My story is not mine alone. I hear from countless survivors the strength they gain from hearing other survivors share their story. My hope is that this will make them feel less alone.
“I am grateful to Kelly for her friendship, for her understanding of our shared Vietnamese American heritage and for her belief that this is a story worth telling.”

Will Smith to produce Brilliance

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith is set to produce the film ‘Brilliance’.
The 53-year-old star is involved in the adaptation of the novel that will mark the directorial debut of two-time Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
The Paramount Pictures adaptation of Marcus Sakey’s novel will be one of Smith’s first major projects since he controversially slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars earlier this year.
The movie has been dubbed as a “passion project” for Will and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman – who has collaborated with the actor on movies such as ‘I, Robot’ and ‘I Am Legend’.
The plot centres on Nick Cooper, a federal agent who works for the Department of Analysis and Response and is tasked with tracking down the one per cent of the population deemed “abnorms” or “Brilliants”.
Nick is a parent of a “Brilliant” daughter and is also an “abnorm” himself as he has the ability to see the future and ultimately attempts to prevent a civil war.
Smith is producing the film through his company Westbrook Studios with Jon Mone and Ryan Shimazaki with Goldsman and Greg Lessans producing via Weed Road Pictures.
The ‘King Richard’ star recently issued a grovelling apology to Rock for the slap and claimed that he was “fogged out” and “fuzzy” when the incident happened.
Will said in an Instagram video: “I’ve reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk when he is, he will reach out. So I will say to you, Chris, I apologise to you.
“My behaviour was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.”
Smith also apologised to his fellow nominees at the ceremony for “tarnishing” the event.
He said: “To all my fellow nominees, this is a community. It’s like, I won because you voted for me and it breaks my heart to have stolen and tarnished your moment… disappointing people is my central trauma. I hate when I let people down so it hurts.”

Les Dennis wants Coronation Street return as Mavis’ brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Les Dennis wants to return to ‘Coronation Street’ as Mavis Wilton’s long-lost brother.
The 68-year-old comedian and actor played Michael Rodwell on the ITV soap for two-and-a-half years until the character was killed off after suffering a heart attack and being left for dead by evil Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre).
But Les has come up with an idea for how he might be able to grace the cobbles once again.
Asked on ‘Lorraine’ if he could head back to the show as Michael’s evil twin, he said: “Yeah, we could. Or maybe as Mavis’ brother? Her long-lost brother.”
Show host and ‘Corrie’ super-fan Lorraine Kelly replied: “Mavis’ brother – that would be brilliant. Oh come on, we’ve got to make it happen. That would be fantastic because then Rita would have a friend, which would be great.”
Les said: “Yeah, a friend that would keep saying, ‘Ooh, I don’t really know.’ It could work. Anything is possible.”
Mavis – who was known for her catchphrase “ooh, I don’t really know” – was played by Thelma Barlow from 1971 to 1997 and was regularly part of comical scenes with her corner shop boss Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox) and her husband Derek Wilton (Peter Baldwin).
Les has admitted he had “a great time” starring in ‘Corrie’.
He said: “I loved playing Michael. He was a lovely character to play. I had a great time playing him, for two-and-a-half years.
Les and his wife Claire Nicholson paid a visit to the ‘Corrie’ set shortly after he filmed his final scenes, and it happened to be on the same day his former co-stars were shooting his character’s funeral scenes.
He previously said: “It was bizarre, it was absolutely bizarre. I was looking at all the Platt family and said, ‘You’re all dressed up.’
“I asked Ollie, who was playing my son, ‘What are you dressed up for’ and he said ‘your funeral’.
“I had no idea so then they said the hearse is down in the Street if you want to go and have a look. So then Claire and I went down and stood by my hearse, with a coffin inside, the order of service and everything in the back. It was quiet freaky but fun as well.”

Tony Adams isn’t scared of Strictly Come Dancing judges

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Adams isn’t worried about the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judges’ feedback – because he’s had bottles and carrots “lobbed” at him.
The former Arsenal player – who has previously struggled with drug and alcohol issues – thinks the treatment he got after he left prison, following a drink-driving conviction, and suffering a “mental breakdown” has made him unafraid of what Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke could possibly say about his dancing during the BBC One Latin and ballroom show.
The 55-year-old former footballer said: “I’m going to top you all because when I came out of prison they lobbed bottles at me and I had carrots thrown at me. So – I’ve trumped it.
“I had a mental breakdown when I was 49 and working too hard in China. I’m not working too much, my calendar’s pretty empty for the next three months so I just thought yeah, go for it.”
The former England player – who has son Oliver and daughter Amber with his ex Jane Shea, and Atticus, Hector and Iris with his second wife Poppy Teacher – attributed his problems to the “stress of life” getting a bit too much for him in 2015, as he needed heart surgery.
Tony added: “I nearly died, my main artery was 99 per cent closed.”
He labelled himself a “born worrier” and wanted to get himself out of his comfort zone, hence his decision to go on the Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman-fronted show.
Tony told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m a bit of a born worrier – my mum was a worrier – so I just decided to take things a bit easier and get myself on a silly show.”
The former England defender endured a “very thorough examination” so he won’t be facing the same fate as ‘Peep Show’ star Robert Webb, who had to withdraw from the show last year on doctor’s advice due to his heart condition.
Tony said: “They do a very thorough examination. My physio was quite damning because I’ve got a new metal knee as well. She went ‘no knee slides’. It was, ‘You can’t do this, can’t do that.’ ”

Henry Selick doubts The Nightmare Before Christmas sequel will happen

OHMYGOSSIP — Henry Selick says a sequel to ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ is unlikely.
The 69-year-old director helmed the classic 1993 stop-motion animated festive flick, which was conceived by Tim Burton, and confessed that the pair have never signed up for a sequel as Disney wanted the film to be computer animated.
Henry told Collider: “(A) sequel has come up several times. Initially, (Disney) always said, ‘But it will have to be CG’. And that was a non-starter for me. It certainly was for Tim Burton.”
The ‘Coraline’ filmmaker did suggest that both he and Burton would be open to making a short film based on ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’.
Selick said: “The idea of a short has never come up in the past. I think Tim might be open to a short. It would have to be so refreshing… such a new take to justify making a sequel, but a short makes good sense.”
Henry pointed out that a short movie about Jack Skellington’s pet ghost dog Zero would be a good idea and could give the “viewpoint” of the canine.
He said: “I think that’s a fantastic idea. And doable. I predict Tim would back (it) then.”
Danny Elfman composed 10 songs and the score for the animated classic, as well as providing the singing voice for Jack Skellington, and dismissed the prospect of a sequel earlier this year.
He explained: “You know, it wouldn’t totally shock me if he (Burton) came back with (A Nightmare Before Christmas’ ) …
“If he had a fresh take on it, I would certainly go for the ride with him. But he’s never expressed any interest in that.
“I think he felt like this was a pure thing and it was what it was and that to try to do sequels on it would, I think it’s just not inspired him. But I won’t ever speak for Tim. It’s his universe.”

James Cameron feared Avatar sequel wouldn’t be relevant

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron was concerned that ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ wouldn’t be relevant over a decade after the original film was released.
The 68-year-old director has helmed the long-awaited sequel to his 2009 sci-fi epic ‘Avatar’, which is set to be released in December, but was worried that fans may have lost interest in the franchise in the intervening years – even though the original became the highest-grossing movie of all time.
James told The New York Times newspaper: “I was a little concerned that I had stretched the tether too far, in our fast-paced, modern world, with ‘Avatar 2’ coming in 12 years later.
“Right until we dropped the teaser trailer, and we got 148 million views in 24 hours. There’s that scarce seen but wondered at principle, which is, ‘Wow, we haven’t seen that in a long time, but I remember how cool it was back then.’ Does that play in our favour? I don’t know. I guess we’re going to find out.”
The ‘Titanic’ director did admit that he would never have made the ‘Avatar’ sequel straight away, citing the success he had with the follow-ups ‘Aliens’ and ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day – both of which were released several years after the original films.
Cameron explained: “I think I could have made a sequel two years later and have it bomb because people didn’t relate to the characters or the direction of the film.
“My personal experience goes like this: I made a sequel called ‘Aliens’, seven years after the first movie. It was very well received. I made a sequel called ‘Terminator 2’, seven years after the first movie. It did an order of magnitude of more, in revenue, than the first film.”

Kirsty-Leigh Porter and Siva Kaneswaran ‘in talks for Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins’

OHMYGOSSIP — Hollyoaks’ Kirsty-Leigh Porter and singer Siva Kaneswaran are wanted for the next series of ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’.
The 33-year-old soap star and The Wanted singer, also 33, are both said to have been in talks with bosses of the Channel 4 show about signing up for a brand-new season of the gruelling programme.
A source said: “Siva and Kirsty-Leigh are both sure-fire signings for the next instalment of SAS: Who Dares Wins.
“They have done their fitness assessments and are well on their way to signing on the dotted line for the show.
“Kirsty-Leigh became a mum for the first time last year and is looking to really challenge herself away from ‘Hollyoaks’.”
Pop star Gareth Gates – who shot to fame when he was the runner-up in the first series of the ITV talent show ‘Pop Idol’ in 2002 – is also on ‘Celebrity SAS’ bosses’ shortlist.
The source added to The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Gareth Gates is also on the line-up for the next series so it’s a real mix of characters.”
A spokesperson for ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ said: “In the best traditions of the SAS, this mission is confidential.
“However, full details will be released when the series broadcasts next year.
“In the meantime, tune into the current series of ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’, Sunday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.”
Earlier this month, it was reported former Health Secretary Matt Hancock had been approached to appear on the show next year.
An insider told the publication at the time: “Matt impressed ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ producers when he spoke to them and they want him to take part.
“He would be the biggest name to have signed up for the next series and it would be a real coup for the show.
“Matt knows there is a mixed perception of him in the public eye and he thinks going on the show would reveal a different side to himself.
“It is not unusual for MPs to take part in these kinds of shows and Matt thinks he could go far on SAS, despite it being the hardest of all the reality series on television.”
A spokesperson for the parliamentary representative for West Suffolk claimed he hadn’t “signed up for anything”.
They told the publication: “Matt gets a huge number of offers and is asked to appear on TV shows all the time but he has not signed up to anything.”

Kaye Adams bans family from Strictly Come Dancing studio

OHMYGOSSIP — Kaye Adams has banned her family from coming to the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ studio while she’s a contestant.
The ‘Loose Women’ anchor – who has two daughters, Charley, 20, and Bonnie, 16, with her partner Ian Campbell – believes in the importance of a “clear separation” with her public and private persona, but stressed her kids are “happy with that”.
The 59-year-old presenter said: “They’re quite happy with that.
“There’s quite a clear separation between my work and my family.”
Kaye – whose brood reside in the Scottish city of Glasgow – admitted it would be “expensive” for her family to travel weekly to see her compete for the Glitterball trophy on the BBC One star Latin and ballroom show.
Kaye told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s quite expensive to come from Scotland”.
Recently, the former ‘Wright Stuff’ panellist joked she had “struggled” to nod off after she started rehearsing for the show.
Kaye said: “Struggled to sleep last night after the first day of Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals. Tried to count sheep but couldn’t get past 5, 6, 7, 8.”
The star opted to take part in the show because she couldn’t find “a better way” to mark hitting 60 years old.
She said: “I said I wanted to make the last year of my fifties memorable and I can’t think of a better way of doing it than showing the world my two left feet. Pray for me!”
Sharing the advice that former ‘Strictly’ contestant Ruth Langsford gave her, she added: “She was brilliant, she told me it warts and all but in a really nice supportive way, which was nice.
“She did make me laugh, she said, ‘You will get very sweaty ‘down there’ when you’re training. So bring a little ladies’ bag with pantyliners.”

Kym Marsh vows to survive Strictly judges after being fat-shamed on Popstars

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh says being called “fat” on national television by Nigel Lythgoe has prepared her for any potential wrath of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judges.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star says being able to “survive” the record executive on the 00s ITV singing contest ‘Popstars’ has quashed any fears of what sharp-tongued Craig Revel Horwood – who sits on the panel alongside Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke – might say about her Latin and ballroom skills.
The 46-year-old actress – who is due to make her dance floor debut this weekend on BBC One – said: “If you can survive what Nigel said to you, you can survive anything.
“I got called fat on national television when I was 24. It was outrageous. That’s probably the worst thing that could happen.
“The ‘Strictly’ judges, we’ll be treating them with respect. The reason they’re there is because they’re professionals. If they tell me I’ve done something wrong, I’ll take it.”
Nigel stood by his comments about the ex Hear’Say member, saying: “She’s made an absolute mint on slimming down, looking fabulous now, acting brilliantly, and she’s made a huge career for herself, bless her.”
Kym – who left ‘Coronation Street’ in 2019 after joining in 2006 – is giving free rein to the ‘Strictly’ wardrobe department to dress her however they want while she competes for the Glitterball trophy alongside other famous faces, including ‘EastEnders’ actor James Bye, and Bros’ Matt Goss.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I said to the costume team, ‘Do what you want, I’m not bothered. Let’s go for it,’ because it’s the experience of it.
“You can’t come in and go, ‘No, I can only look like this every day.’
“There’s no point doing this unless you’re going to get involved in the whole thing. That’s part of the excitement of it.
“But you do overthink things and also it doesn’t change that your nerves are still there – we’re still going to be absolutely bricking it.”

Richie Anderson was given option over same-sex partner on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Richie Anderson wanted a same-sex partner on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ to celebrate his 10th anniversary with his partner.
The BBC Radio 2 presenter wanted to mark his relationship with his significant other Dean Eagles and the 50th anniversary of London Pride celebrations by dancing with a man on the BBC One Latin and ballroom competition.
The 34-year-old DJ told Mirror Online: “They actually gave me the option. They rang me up and they said, ‘We want you to be on Strictly this year’ – I ran off screaming and they were like, ‘Can you come back to the phone?’ They went, ‘We’re booking you for you, so it’s up to you whether you want to dance with a female partner or a male partner.’
“I spoke to my partner Dean and this year is our 10-year anniversary and we have to – for our 10 year anniversary – it’s the 50th anniversary of Pride this year as well – we have to dance with a man.
“So we spoke about it and I can’t imagine me lifting a female pro up but … I just can’t wait to be out there and I’m proud to be dancing with one of the male pros and I hope they feel the same way!”
Richie is excited for the “sparkles and sequins”.
At the time of his reveal, the star – who will compete alongside Tony Adams, James Bye and Ellie Taylor, among others – said: “This is a dream come true! I cannot wait to get in those sparkles and sequins and shimmy across the most famous dance floor in the world! Strictly is the ultimate feel-good show, as soon as I hear that iconic theme tune it’s just pure escapism.
“I’m going to have to cancel my legendary Strictly launch night kitchen party that I throw every year, I’m sure my friends and family will understand. It’s also a massive honour to be part of an all-male dance partnership, it’s so important we have that inclusion on such a huge show.”

Sarah Cawood diagnosed with breast cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Cawood has been diagnosed with stage one breast cancer.
The 50-year-old TV presenter says she has the “the Carlsberg of breast cancers”, and feels “really lucky” that she only has a “very small cancerous lump”.
A lump in her breast was discovered in follow-up tests after her first ever routine mammogram, and despite fearing she may have an “aggressive” form of cancer, she ended up being “demob happy” with the result.
She said: “The surgeon went, ‘Can you see that? That’s a very small cancerous lump’. And I went, ‘Oh, OK, is it aggressive?’.
“And she said, ‘No’. And I went, ‘Brilliant’. I was demob happy. I was like, ‘OK, so easily fixed?’, and she was like, ‘Yes, not really much of a problem’.
“Nobody cried, it wasn’t very dramatic. It’s just a lumpectomy, radio-therapy, then a drug called Tamoxifen, which is a hormone blocker, for five to 10 years.
“It really is the Carlsberg of breast cancers. If you have to have it, this is the one to have. I feel really lucky. There are people that really are up s*** creek without a paddle, who have cancer, and I am not that person.”
The former ‘Live and Kicking’ host – who has son Hunter, 10, and nine-year-old daughter Autumn with husband Andy Merry – admits she regrets not doing more lads’ magazine shoots to build her profile early on in her career, because the star insists she has “epic” breasts and claims they are “better than Denise van Outen’s”.
