Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock’s ditched movie idea

OHMYGOSSIP — Brad Pitt has revealed he and Sandra Bullock came up with an idea for a film that never saw the light of day.
The Hollywood pair – who have appeared alongside each other in ‘The Lost City’ and ‘Bullet Train’ this year – had another flick in mind in which they would play quibbling QVC sales people, who argue on-air amid their divorce.
The ‘Fight Club’ star was asked to share his beauty secrets with British Vogue, but didn’t wish to, and so the journalist asked how his regimen has changed over time without being “too QVC”.
He said: “I wouldn’t know how to do that unless it was a comedy.”
Then Brad, 58, spilled: “Actually, Sandy [Sandra Bullock] and I did once try to develop a whole idea of a husband and wife team, who were QVC’s most successful salespeople, but we’re getting a divorce, we hate each other, and we’re taking it out on air as we sell things … That’s as far as we got.”
Brad recently said he wishes to continue working with “old friend” Sandra.
Speaking to Brazilian presenter Hugo Gloss, he said: “Sandy is an old friend. She’s a diehard person I could call for favours over the years and I have done many many times and she’s always there.
“Her timing was great, she was a great person to have in my ear in a situation like what which is actually kind of intimate. It just worked out really well and she had her film and I got to do a little bit of hers. I think we’ll continue to do the same.”

Adam Sandler tries not to get ‘too shook up’ by negative film feedback

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Sandler tries not to get “too shook up” by negative comments about his movies.
The 56-year-old star wishes some of his close pals and family who star alongside him in films didn’t have to read some of the reviews about the motion pictures, but he doesn’t get too worried about bleak feedback.
Asked if some critic comments can sting, he said: “Sometimes. Mostly because I invite all these amazing people I care about to make movies with me, and I wish they didn’t have to read s*** about whatever we’ve made.
“But I don’t get too shook up.”
But Sandler always remembers his father advising him that not everyone will “like him” and he will “fail” at times during life, but his dad insisted he needs the bad times to appreciate happiness.
He added to AARP: “I always remember something my father said. He was a tough b******.
“He went through ups and downs in his life, like not having work for a year or two and not telling us.
“I recall one time that something didn’t go right for me. I bombed onstage or didn’t get an audition. I was upset and probably embarrassed. And he said, ‘Adam, you can’t always be happy. People aren’t always going to like you. You’re going to fail.’
“I said, ‘But I just want to be happy, man. I don’t want all that other crap.’ He said, ‘You won’t actually know you’re happy if you don’t feel that other stuff.’ ”
Sandler is to star with his wife Jackie Sandler, 47, and their daughters Sadie, 16, and Sunny, 13, in Netflix film ‘You Are SO Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah!’, an adaptation of Fiona Rosenbloom’s YA novel of the same name.
The movie will also see Sandler reunite with this ‘Uncut Gems’ co-star Idina Menzel.

Rylan Clark suffered 2 heart failures

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark was rushed to hospital twice last year after his heart stopped.
The ‘Supermarket Sweep’ presenter – who separated from his husband Dan Neal last summer after six years together – has told how he suffered heart failure twice, resulting in the organ having to be restarted.
He said: “Twice last year I ended up in the back of an ambulance because my heart failed.
“I just remember the shot going in and all of a sudden this feeling from the middle of your body, both ways, almost takes you over, and you just stop and my heart stopped.
“There’s just seven faces and this bright light just looking at me. And then I took a breath. And they were like, ‘He’s in a normal rhythm’. I was like, ‘What the f*** is going on?’ ”
Rylan’s heart rate increased to 248 beats per minute (bpm), more than twice the average, which is between 60 and 120 bpm.
Speaking at London’s Royal Festival Hall to celebrate the launch of his new book ‘Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future’, he said: “I remember laying in resus and I had all these pads on with all these wires and not understanding what it was.
“It was only afterwards that I said, ‘What was the pads for?’ And they said, ‘If you didn’t take your breath … because we would have had to restart you electrically’.
“You don’t even think about it when you’re there. So I didn’t just get mentally ill, I got physically ill.”
In June, Rylan told how he was “crying all day” and considering quitting showbiz after his marriage ended, and admitted he was grateful for his mum Linda, 70, helping him through the split.
He said: “I couldn’t have got through the last year without my mum, she was there for me majorly. She was my entire support.
“At one point, I didn’t want to come back, I didn’t want this job any more – I didn’t want to do anything.”

Emmerdale to air hour-long Sunday episode for 50th anniversary

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ will air an hour-long episode on a Sunday to celebrate the soap’s 50th anniversary.
The ITV show hits the milestone on October 16th and while the day is a Sunday this year, when ‘Emmerdale’ wouldn’t usually be on, the soap will celebrate its birthday with a special episode on the exact day it first appeared on our screens.
To celebrate the upcoming anniversary, ‘Emmerdale’ has released an official cast photograph taken earlier this year outside the Woolpack pub in the Emmerdale village in Yorkshire.
Last week, Samantha Giles – who plays Bernice Blackstock in the ITV soap – insisted the 50th anniversary scenes are “really exciting”.
She said: “We are very busy at the moment with filming it all. It’s really exciting.”
Last month, it was revealed Danny Miller, Elizabeth Estensen, and Amy Walsh will return to the soap for the show’s 50th anniversary.
The trio, who played Aaron Dingle, Diane Sugden, and Tracy Metcalfe, will be back on the ITV soap “temporarily” to mark the huge milestone.
‘Emmerdale’ producer Kate Brooks said: “We have the return of some very familiar faces to the Dales.
“Diane, Aaron and Tracy will all be making a reappearance, albeit on a temporary basis.
“But they’ll come back and be at the heart of some really big stories that’ll impact their lives, and not just their lives but the lives of the characters they leave behind. It’s all really exciting and brilliant.
“Aaron’s back and how is he going to respond when he finds out that his mum is cheating on Paddy, who he sees as a father?
“Is he going to discover that Sandra is not all about Liv? There’s a huge story happening over there.”
Speaking about Amy’s return, Jane said: “Tracy is back with a bit of news of her own – and how’s Nate going to respond to that?”

Fleur East gets psychic message from late dad before Strictly Come Dancing launch

OHMYGOSSIP — Fleur East received a psychic message from her late dad before the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ launch show.
The 34-year-old star – whose father Malcolm died in 2020 – received a special message from him via her cousin, who visited a medium before this Saturday’s show (24.09.22).
Speaking on the ‘Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Fleur East’, the host explained: “In 72 hours I’ll be dancing live for the first time and it’s really exciting but something really weird has happened to me ahead of the ‘Strictly’ weekend.
“On Sunday I had a message from one of my cousins who had been to see a medium – people that speak to the spirit world.
“Now I’ve never gone to a medium because I do believe in it and I’m quite scared about going because I never wanted to test it. But my cousin went and this happened…”
The former ‘X Factor’ star then played a voice note from her cousin in which the medium says she’s communicating with a spirit called Malcolm, whose daughter “sings and dancers”.
The medium adds: “His daughter is about to start something, she’s about to start an adventure as he’s calling it. He says to tell her I’m so proud of her and give her all the luck in the world.”
Reflecting on the message, Fleur admitted it was “eerie” but “really comforting”.
She said: “So my Dad passed away in 2020, his name was Malcolm and apparently he came through and wished me good luck ahead of Strictly.
“Is that not really weird? It’s eerie but it’s really comforting as well.
“Leading up to Strictly has been so nerve-racking and I’ve been so anxious and not having my Dad here for the first time before something so big in my life is huge. So to get a message like that is the set up I needed before the big weekend.”
Listen to Fleur East on ‘The Hits Radio Breakfast Show’ every weekday morning from 6am –10am at hitsradio.co.uk.

Jodie Whittaker’s final Doctor Who episode will include major Sherlock reference

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Whittaker’s final ‘Doctor Who’ episode will feature a major ‘Sherlock’ Easter Egg.
Former ‘Doctor Who’ showrunner Steven Moffat and writer Mark Gatiss worked together on the BBC’s take on Arthur Conan Doyle’s literary detective, and now the sci-fi series is set to reference it in a big way.
Doctor Who Magazine writer Paul Kirkley has teased a scene in ‘The Power of The Doctor’ reminiscent of Sherlock’s ‘The Reichenbach Fall’ which saw Holmes and his nemesis Moriarty fall to their deaths.
Kirkley wrote: “There’s one pivotal, jaw-dropping moment in the episode — no spoilers, but you’ll know it when you see it — that Sacha Dhawan is particularly proud of.
“When the great Terrance Dicks first proposed the character of the Master to producer Barry Letts more than half a century ago, he famously sold him as ‘the Moriarty to the Doctor’s Holmes’.
“So it’s fitting that Sacha’s Master and Jodie’s Doctor should face each other in their own ‘Reichenbach Falls’ moment.”
He made the comments in an interview with Sacha, who plays the Master opposite Jodie’s Time Lord.
The actor said: “I wanted it to be epic and moving, and when I watched the episode myself, I thought, ‘I’m so glad we landed that’. Because it kind of takes your breath away a bit.
“So it’s always been really easy with Jodie. I do my thing and she does hers, and it just works. And that’s because, even though the characters have so much animosity between them, me and Jodie really adore each other.
“Which actually makes the scenes much more electrifying, and a lot more moving than I thought they would be.
“Especially in the Centenary Special. I watched the episode on my laptop in a dark room the other day, and I was just a blubbering mess.”

Adam Woodyatt too busy for EastEnders return

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Woodyatt is too busy to return to ‘EastEnders’.
The 54-year-old actor took a break from the soap – on which he has played Ian Beale for 36 years – to take up a role in stage production ‘Looking Good Dead’ and is now set to go on tour with ‘My Fair Lady’ and he admitted that, while the door was left open for him to return to the show, there’s a lot of other appealing options on the table.
He said: “I’m never gonna say never.
“But it’s a question I get asked all the time. And it’s a question I can’t answer because I don’t know the answer.
“It’s not just my decision, it’s their decision as well.
“They’ve got to write something. I’ve got to be available. Because I keep doing other work. The door’s open, but there’s a lot of doors that are open.”
Adam admitted returning to the stage has reignited his love of acting.
He told The Buzz: “I love being on stage. I’ve kind of relearned in the last year or so why I fell in love with this job in the first place…
“There’s something inside you, you get bitten by this bug, this theatre bug. And it doesn’t leave you,”
Meanwhile, after years on ‘EastEnders’, Adam finds it hard to say who he enjoyed working with the most, but he singled out the late June Brown (Dot Cotton) and Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell) for particular praise.
He said: “That’s like saying pick your favourite child.
“I mean, the word legend gets thrown around far too easily. But [June] was without a doubt.
“A legend and an icon.
“And for me, Steve McFadden. If I have got to narrow it down and pick someone, I’ll pick Steve because he’s a top bloke and a top actor.”

Jenna Ortega cast in Miller’s Girl opposite Martin Freeman

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Ortega has been cast in ‘Miller’s Girl’.
The 19-year-old actress – known for her roles in the likes of ‘Scream’, ‘You’ and upcoming Netflix show ‘Wednesday’ – is set to star opposite ‘The Hobbit’ actor Martin Freeman in the upcoming movie.
The film – which is in production in Georgia – marks the directorial debut from writer-director Jade Halley Bartlett, who has also penned the screenplay.
Although plot details are being kept under wraps, the story will follow a creative writing assignment which leads to complex results for a teacher and his talented student.
It’s not been confirmed exactly who Ortega and Freeman will be playing, but it seems almost certain they’ll be cast as the student and teacher.
Erin Westerman – President of Production for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group – hailed the “level of talent” in the movie, while noting the story will also hold up in its own right.
She told Deadline: “While we are excited for the movie to speak for itself, the level of talent assembled for this special film is a testament to Jade, whose screenplay lures you in with her dazzling voice. And then eats you alive.”
Mary-Margaret Kunze will produce the film, with Josh Fagen overseeing for Point Grey while Chelsea Kujawa and Scott O’Brien will represent Lionsgate.
As well as returning for ‘Scream 6’, Ortega will be playing Wednesday Addams in a new eight episode spin-off based on the beloved ‘Addams Family’ character.
Although she appears as a child in previous incarnations, she’ll be portrayed as a teenager in the show, which Netflix bosses have described as “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy”.
They added: “Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorised the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”

Woody Allen isn’t retiring

OHMYGOSSIP — Woody Allen has “no intention” of retiring.
The 86-year-old director was recently quoted by Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia as saying the film he is currently working on, ‘Wasp 22’, would be his last as he wanted to focus on writing instead, but he has now insisted that is not the case.
A statement issued on behalf of the ‘Match Point’ filmmaker said: “Woody Allen never said he was retiring, nor did he say he was writing another novel. He said he was thinking about not making films, as making films that go straight or very quickly to streaming platforms is not so enjoyable for him, as he is a great lover of the cinema experience. Currently, he has no intention of retiring and is very excited to be in Paris shooting his new movie, which will be the 50th.”
In the comments published in Spain, the ‘Annie Hall’ director discussed the possibility of writing a novel.
He was quoted as saying: “I don’t know if I will write more memoirs, I don’t think so. My next film will be number 50, I think it’s a good time to stop. My idea, in principle, is not to make more movies and focus on writing, these stories and, well, now I’m thinking more of a novel, which would be my first novel.”
Woody expressed his disappointment with the way the “film business” has changed in modern times.
He added: “But film business has changed, human stories are no longer so interesting. In the US, many cinemas have closed. I imagine it will have a lot of humour because that’s what comes naturally to me.
“But, if I had a very serious idea, I wouldn’t hesitate to do the same thing I did in some of my films, the serious calls. [My 50th movie] will be similar to [2005 thriller] ‘Match Point’, exciting, dramatic, and also sinister.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark would love to join ‘EastEnders’.

After being asked about his dream gig, the 33-year-old television personality told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “’EastEnders’! I’d love to be a long-lost Slater.”
Meanwhile, Rylan also enthused about the return of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – the long-running star-studded BBC One Latin and ballroom competition – and admitted it felt “amazing” to be returning to screens this weekend with new crop of contestants such as Ellie Taylor, Bros star Matt Goss and Helen Skelton.
He said: “It feels so amazing to be back. Being part of the show for the last four years has been such a pleasure for me.
The BBC Radio 2 presenter called it “an honour” to be included in the 20th anniversary celebration of the show – along with his co-host of the weekday spin-off show Janette Manrara, who previously worked as a professional on the show.
Rylan added: “To be part of it for such a big anniversary is an honour. Me and Janette will be bringing Strictly into your homes five nights a week.
“You can expect all the backstage gossip and exclusive clips from the rehearsals.”
Janette – who is married to fellow ‘Strictly’ pro Aljaz Skorjanec, 32 – admitted she “couldn’t be happier” to be coming back for a second year on the companion show after she took over from Zoe Ball last season.
The 38-year-old dancer said: “It was a dream come true for me last year. To be back for my second year, I couldn’t be happier.
“The 20th series feels like it will be a very special one, so I’m absolutely honoured to still be a part of such an amazing show.
“I have always been a fan of Strictly, even when I was competing in it. To now be a proper fan, and also provide that space where the couples get to share their joy and frustrations with us and the audience, is really special.”

Later, she joked that she couldn’t tell if the choice was “the best or the worst thing” she had ever said yes to.
She quipped: “I can’t decide if it’s the best or worst thing I’ve agreed to and it hasn’t started yet!
“The thing that makes me nervous… I agreed to it a few days ago and people keep saying, ‘Can you dance?’ and I say no because isn’t it the point to learn to dance?”

Susanna Reid explains why Good Morning Britain presenters are wearing dark colours

OHMYGOSSIP — Susanna Reid is wearing “dark blue” on ‘Good Morning Britain’ to mark a “transitionary moment” after Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
During the national period of mourning, broadcasters were wearing all black as a sign of respect following the queen’s death on September 8, and after she was laid to rest at Windsor Castle on Monday (19.09.22) the ‘Good Morning Britain’ team have continued to wear dark colours.
Explaining the decision on Tuesday’s episode of the ITV breakfast show, Susanna said: “It feels like a transitionary moment because the period of national mourning has come to an end, so we have transitioned into more sombre outfits, dark blue.”
The late monarch was buried alongside her late husband Prince Philip at the King George VI Memorial Chapel following her state funeral at Westminster Abbey.
Susanna and her co-star Ben Shephard fronted a special edition of ‘GMB’ outside Westminster Abbey on the morning of the funeral, and she described her role as “an honour”.
She added: “It was like being an eye-witness to history, wasn’t it?
“A real privileged position and it was an honour to be there with you [the viewers] yesterday morning and now the Queen has been laid to rest.”
Ben heaped praise on the Queen’s Company, 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards for the “spellbinding” work they did carrying Her Majesty’s coffin.
He said: “Those eight young men who shouldered the queen’s coffin all day. At no point did these young men make a mistake.
“It was just the most remarkable performance from them. To do it with the weight of the world on their shoulders, it was just spellbinding.”
Meanwhile, Susanna had queued up for seven hours to see the queen’s coffin lying in state ahead of the funeral.
On Monday (19.09.22), she reflected: “It is an enormous privilege to have been able to do that, to spend time paying our last respects, but also those hours in the queue as well, coming to an end now.”

Channique Sterling-Brown accidentally stole a phone during Coronation Street audition

OHMYGOSSIP — Channique Sterling-Brown accidentally stole a phone from the ‘Coronation Street’ set.
The cobbles newcomer – who plays Dee Dee Bailey on the ITV soap – is set to arrive in Weatherfield next week, but the actress feared she’d blown her big chance after her final screen test with the rest of the Bailey family with two other people vying for the role.
She told the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column: “In all the chaos of it, I’d been givena prop phone in the scene and I put it in my pocket and then they shouted ‘Cut’ after a few takes and I left.
“I don’t know what even made me realise because I wasn’t even home yet. I just stopped thought, ‘I’ve got the phone in my pocket!’
“I was like, ‘I’ve just stolen from Corrie’. I called my agent and I’m like, ‘What do I do?’ They were like, ‘Take it back.’ ”
Channique went back to the studio to hand back the prop, and her mistake ended up being a good omen given how the bosses wanted Dee Dee to be portrayed.
She continued: “I pulled up outside reception and ran in and as I was coming out, I bumped into Ryan [Russell], who plays Michael Bailey, and I was like, ‘I took the phone’…
“It was meant to be because Dee Dee is very scatter-brained and stuff.”
Channique will play Dee Dee, who is described as the “apple of their eye” daughter of Ed and Aggie Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges and Lorna Laidlaw), and the sister of James (Nathan Graham) and Michael.
Meanwhile, the actress was in public when she got the call confirming she landed the role, and she was overwhelmed.
She added: “I found out I got the part when I was on a bus on the way to a festival.
“I burst into tears. I was so overcome. I think the other people on the bus thought, ‘She’s got a bit of a screw lose, her!’ ”

Nicholas Galitzine cast in The Idea of You

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicholas Galitzine is to star in ‘The Idea of You’.
The 27-year-old actor has been tapped to feature alongside Anne Hathaway in the romantic movie from Amazon Prime Video.
The film is based on the bestselling love story of the same name by Robinne Lee and will head into production next month.
The flick centres on Sophie (Hathaway), a 40-year-old divorced mother after her husband Dan left her for a younger woman.
Sophie has no choice but to accompany her 15-year-old daughter to the Coachella festival – where she meets 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of the hottest boy band on the planet, August Moon.
Campbell has been speculated by fans of the novel to be inspired by pop heartthrob Harry Styles.
Michael Showalter is directing the film with Oscar-winner Cathy Schulman producing via her Welle Entertainment company. Jennifer Westfeldt is adapting the screenplay.
Nicholas previously starred in the Netflix romance ‘Purple Hearts’ and said he was “overwhelmed” by the success of the project after it became the streaming giant’s most successful release of 2022.
He said: “I could never have imagined (the success of the film). What was on screen was a testament to all the hard work we put in and our want to collaborate. And the fact that that could have such a crazy resonance is very much hard to process.”
Galitzine has revealed that he was drawn to the part as the character “felt very different” from what he had done before.
The actor explained: “There was the obvious love story from the outset, but it was portrayed in a dimension that was very unusual and something I hadn’t seen before.”

Stephen Graham cast as reformed Neo Nazi in ITV drama The Walk In

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephen Graham is playing activist and reformed Neo-Nazi Matthew Collins in ‘The Walk-In’.
The ‘Line of Duty’ actor has been cast in ITV’s upcoming five-part drama telling the true story of how a Neo-Nazi plan to kill an MP was foiled by an inside man.
The upcoming series – which has already wrapped filming in London and surrounding areas – has been written by Jeff Pope and directed by Paul Andrew Williams.
In a press release, ITV said: “It’s a thought-provoking, conscience stirring drama which poses timeless questions – What makes people fear and hate those who are different from themselves? Can someone’s view of the world be fundamentally changed?
“Forced to flee the UK and go into hiding in the 1990’s when he became a mole from within the BNP, Collins returned to Britain to make a new life for himself.
“The drama focuses upon Collins and his work to stop the radicalisation of young white men before it begins.”
Viewers will see Collins looking to infiltrate, “expose and fracture” a Far Right Neo-Nazi group which was “making itself out with a youthful clean-cut image, hell bent on creating race war”.
ITV added: “In spite of repeated attempts he wasn’t able to break into this particular group. Consequently, they continued to grow in strength relatively unchecked until the horrific murder of an MP Jo Cox brought their potential into sharp focus and they became the first Far Right organisation to be banned by the government since the Second World War.
“Although the marches and the social media posts stopped Collins knew the group would only have been driven underground and that he had probably lost all chance of getting information from within. Until one day in March 2017 when he received an email from someone claiming to be a member. A mole ready to talk about a horrific plan to murder a second MP.”
The drama will also star Jason Flemyng, Dean Charles Chapman, Leanne Best, Andrew Ellis and Christopher Coghill.
‘The Walk-In’ will air weekly on ITV from Monday, October 3.
