Graham Norton confirms Irish wedding

OHMYGOSSIP — Graham Norton has confirmed he got married earlier this year.
The 59-year-old TV presenter and Scottish filmmaker Jonathan McLeod tied the knot in his native Ireland, and the star was delighted that his pals “kept it a big secret”.
Speaking on Australian chat show ‘The Project’, he said: “We had a big party in West Cork and everyone was really supportive and kept it a big secret.”
Graham also revealed he and his partner opted to get married in West Cork, to ensure his 90-year-old mum Rhoda could attend.
He added: “We had our wedding party near to where my mother lives in Ireland just so she could come.”
In July, it was reported Graham had hosted a lavish wedding celebration in Ireland, welcoming more than 100 guests to a huge party at Bantry House in West Cork, after tying the knot.
The celebrations continued the following day, with a number of marquees set up for a party outside the singer’s Ahakista home.
Singer Lulu reportedly sang at the celebrations, with drag queen and gay rights activist Panti Bliss DJing and Irish dancing group Cairde putting on a performance.
One local resident told Cork Beo: “We knew Bantry House was closed for a private event, it was pretty common knowledge that it was a party for Graham and that is was to do with his marriage.
“We were hearing all sorts of names, Lady Gaga, Elton John was supposed to be singing., we’ve not seen any of them but there’s been a big buzz around Bantry.
“We could all hear the music from Bantry House on Saturday night – they certainly got the weather for it!”
The author and presenter was born in Dublin but grew up in Cork and maintains strong links to the area.

Seth Rogen producing Figment movie about Disney’s Epcot mascot

OHMYGOSSIP — Seth Rogen is producing a film based on Disney’s purple dragon mascot of Epcot’s Imagination Pavilion.
The Disney theme park favourite Figment – who was created in 1983 by Walt Disney Imagineers Tony Baxter, Steve Kirk and others – has featured in the ‘Journey Into Imagination’ attraction since its launch and is meant to be a physical manifestation of imagination.
As reported by Deadline, Rogen’s Point Grey will produce with ‘Detective Pikachu’ writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit penning the script.
Despite being a relatively obscure character, Figment’s passionate fanbase means a number of attempts to remove ‘Journey Into Imagination’ – or at least reduce his presence – have fallen flat.
Currently, he’s the star of the current version of the ride, which has been retitled ‘Journey Into Imagination with Figment’.
The attracted sees the dragon guide park visitors on a tour of the five senses, helping people understand the impact everything has on your imagination.
As it stands, there are no plot details or casting updates.
Despite the upcoming movie serving as his first leading role, the character has made cameo appearances in the past.

Rogen and his Point Grey partners James Weaver and Evan Goldberg have been busy lately, working on the likes of TV shows ‘Pam and Tommy’ and ‘The Boys’, plus big screen outings with ‘This Is The End’ and the upcoming movie ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’.

Jeremy Clarkson ‘to sell Diddly Squat farm fragrance’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Clarkson is planning to sell his own fragrance.
The ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ star has moved to trademark products connected to his Diddly Squat Farm Shop, which is based on his Oxfordshire Farm in Chadlington, Chipping Norton, south west England, and he plans to call a new range Grubby Farmer.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Jeremy – who features his rural pursuits in the series on Amazon Prime Video – has sent the application to give legal protection over his range of products, such as aftershave, shaving and hand creams, anti-wrinkle products and perfume to the UK government’s Intellectual Property Office under his company name, Curdle Hill Farm Limited.
If granted, the trademark will provide cover for a decade and will stop fakes from popping up on the market and making moo-lah from his success.
The ex ‘Top Gear’ star – who is believed to be worth an estimated £55.8 million – also wants to trademark cocktails and low alcohol drinks.
Jeremy also moved to put protections on his “I am a f*****” slogan, which appears in the documentary series., which he hopes to put on T-shirts, glasses, mugs and beer mats.

The description continues: “A totally unique and bespoke scent, created for Jeremy.”

He said: “I’ve never heard of anything so ridiculous. I’ll find out who’s responsible for the drug dog.”

Calum Best broke Jonathan Broom-Edwards ribs during Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Broom-Edwards has been forced to leave ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ – after Calum Best broke two of his ribs.
The 34-year-old Paralympic high jumper suffered the injury during a Murderball game on the Channel 4 military endurance show, and it left Calum – the son of the late footballing legend George Best – feeling “so guilty”.
The 41-year-old reality veteran told The Sun newspaper: “I felt so bad. I felt so guilty.
“But then I also went, ‘It’s the name of the game, it’s bound to happen.’
“I just don’t like to be somebody that screws somebody else’s experience up. But it’s savage. That’s the thing.
“You just have to do what you got to do out there.”
Murderball – which is said to be one of the most dangerous challenges – sees the contestants split into four teams aiming to get a tyre into a goal.
The instructors, who include Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox, push the celebs – who this year include ex ‘EastEnders’ star Maisie Smith and Olympian Fatima Whitbread – to their limits.
Former ‘Celebrity Love Island’ star Calum’s crunching tackle on Jonathan – who has a clubbed foot and muscular dystrophy – took place out of the zone where attacks are supposed to take place.
He said: “If he got injured from me tackling him in bounds, f****** so be it.
“But the fact I was called out for doing it out of bounds, I thought, ‘Oh no, not only have I been called out for not doing it right, he’s got broken ribs.’ ”
What’s more, boxer Shannon Courtenay gave an uppercut to former ‘Brookside’ star Jennifer Ellison, according to former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro AJ Pritchard.
AJ said: “She’s a pro boxer, upper-cutting Jen in the ribs. Come on, it’s not a boxing match.”

Dave Bautista lands lead role in Cooler

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista has been cast in ‘Cooler’.
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actor – who rose to fame as Batista in WWE before swapping wrestling for Hollywood – is set to star in director Drew Pearce’s upcoming action thriller, which marks the start of a deal between Bautista’s Dogbone Entertainment and FilmNation Entertainment’s Infrared.
As reported by Deadline, the 53-year-old star will play Ray Sagona, a bouncer who is trying to get back with his family on a journey of redemption.
However, he gets blackmailed into finding a drug-filled safe which was stolen from the club he works at, which sees him travelling across Miami and putting his road to redemption at risk.
Bautista will be reunited with Pearce on the project, having worked together on the filmmaker’s directorial debut ‘Hotel Artemis’, which also starred Jodie Foster, Sterling K. Brown, and Sofia Boutella.
In a statement, the director said: “Dave is one of the most soulful and talented collaborators I’ve been lucky enough to work with — the chance to build an iconic character with him and make the kind of long-dark-night-of-the-soul thriller that I’ve always loved, is too good to be true.
“The fact that we get to do it all in Miami, guided by the epic cultural knowledge of Drake and Future The Prince, is frankly a mindblower.
“And there’s nobody more perfect to be our partner than Infrared, whose creative ambitions aligned perfectly with what we want this movie to be.”
Infrared’s President of Production Drew Simon added: “Drew Pearce is one of the most exciting storytellers in the action genre and we’re incredibly proud to partner with him to bring his dynamic and thrilling vision to the screen.
“With Dave at the center of the story, and the creative minds at DreamCrew on our team, we couldn’t have wished for a better project to launch our Dogbone Entertainment deal.
“This is the type of bold, entertaining project that Infrared is all about and we can’t wait to continue working with this incredible group of people.”

Bradley Walsh and his son Barney Walsh ‘to host Gladiators reboot’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Walsh and his son Barney Walsh are set to host the ‘Gladiators’ reboot.
The father and son duo are expected to front the BBC revamp of the 90s Saturday night classic – which was presented by Ulrika Jonsson, alongside John Fashanu and Jeremy Guscott, during its original run – when it returns to screens next year.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “The BBC love the idea of having a unique duo fronting ‘Gladiators’ and that’s what hiring a father and son gives them.
“It’s certainly a break from the presenters the show had previously.”
BBC bosses are said to be big fans of the ‘The Chase’ presenter, 62, and his 24-year-old son’s “great dynamic”.
The insider added: “They already know they have a great dynamic, thanks to appearing together on their travelogue, ‘Breaking Dad’, as well as drama, ‘The Larkins’.”
Last month, the BBC confirmed ‘Gladiators’ – which was originally broadcast from 1992 to 2000 – would be returning to TV.
Kate Phillips, the BBC’s Head of Unscripted said: “’Gladiators’ is back, and a whole new generation of viewers can now look forward to watching a Saturday night spectacle like no other. Will the contenders have the will and the skill to succeed against our mighty new Gladiators? You’ll have to tune in to find out!”
Dan Baldwin, the managing director of Hungry Bear, their production partner, added: “It’s the perfect time for ‘Gladiators’ to return. What other show combines electric excitement, superheroes, giant sponge fingers, elite athletes, and a pinch of pantomime?”
The ‘Gladiators’ format was brought back in a short lived run on Sky One from 2008 and 2009, with Ian Wright and Kirsty Gallacher co-hosting.

Lashana Lynch reveals James Bond status after Daniel Craig exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Lashana Lynch has no idea if she’ll be returning to the ‘James Bond’ franchise after only signing up for one movie.
The 34-year-old actress played new 007 Nomi – who took on the code name following Bond’s retirement – alongside Daniel Craig in last year’s blockbuster ‘No Time To Die’, but her future is unclear with producers now looking for the next actor to play Ian Fleming’s iconic spy.
She told Empire magazine: “I’m glad that my culture, Jamaica and London, were encapsulated into this one film.
“I signed up for one film and I don’t know if they entirely know where it’s gonna go. I genuinely don’t know anything, but it’s exciting to wonder!”
If she doesn’t reprise her role, Lynch is still happy after being able to present a relatable character who isn’t quite sure how to express themselves.
She added: “She represents awkward Brit girls like me who have a lot to say, but sometimes don’t really know how to come across.
“I wanted Nomi to have a little bit of that; still figuring it out. I didn’t want there to be this clean-cut version of the first 007 being a Black woman.
“I wanted to ensure that she was still trying to be quick on her feet, but also failing in ways and not showing it.”
Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are leading the search to replace Craig as the iconic spy, but they recently revealed they are looking to cast a villain first so they can craft a story for the next movie.
Broccoli said: “We always sit down with our writers, and we start by thinking about,’What’s the world afraid of?’ We start by thinking about, ‘Who’s the Bond villain?’
“We try to focus on that sort of uber story, and then we want to also look at Bond’s emotional life, and what he’ll be facing personally that he hasn’t had to deal with before.
“So he has two big issues in the films – one is the geopolitical one and the other is the personal one.”

Strictly Come Dancing’s Hamza Yassin suffers knee injury

OHMYGOSSIP — Hamza Yassin has suffered a knee injury during ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ rehearsals.
The ‘Countryfile’ presenter topped the leaderboard with 34 points out of 40 last weekend following the first live show of the series, but the star has now admitted he has been feeling knee pain “all the time”.
Speaking on Wednesday night’s (28.09.20) episode of ‘Strictly’ spin-off ‘It Takes Two’, he said: “I’m complaining about knee pain all the time, my knees are hurting.”
During the show, presenter Janette Manrara admitted Hamza’s pro dancer partner Jowita Przystał has been “patching [him] up” during training.
He added: “It’s kicking, so this is what she has to do basically, to keep me from not complaining!”
Hamza started this year’s 20th series as a 25/1 outsider to win the Glitterball trophy, but following his leaderboard-topping exploits last weekend, his odds have been cut.
The wildlife expert is now 8/1 with Ladbrokes to win the 20th series.
Former ‘Hollyoaks’ star Will Mellor – who also topped the leaderboard with 34 points out of 40, alongside his pro partner Nancy Xu, on Saturday (24.09.22) – is currently the 7/4 favourite to triumph.
Hamza’s ‘Countryfile’ co-star Helen Skelton is the 7/2 second favourite with Ladbrokes, followed by former ‘X Factor’ star Fleur East at 5/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Will Mellor may have leapfrogged Helen Skelton and Fleur East to head the ‘Strictly’ betting, but Hamza Yassin is very much on our radar as one to watch at the moment, having already seen his odds slashed from near no-hoper to firm frontrunner after just one performance.”

James Buckley becomes Cameo’s first UK millionaire

OHMYGOSSIP — James Buckley has become Cameo’s first UK-based millionaire.
The ‘Inbetweeners’ star is the first non-US-based star to amass $1 million (£930,000) on the service – which sees public figures charge a fee to send fans video messages – after he joined in March 2020.
According to the platform’s founder Martin Blencowe, the 35-year-old actor “takes it very seriously” and is “ready to do the work” after it was reported James replied to 37 requests per day in 2021.
Now, responding to claims the YouTube star – who documents family life with his wife ‘Scottish Mussel’ star Clair Meek, 33 who he shares sons Harrison, 10, and nine-year-old Jude with – had cracked the million-dollar ceiling, Martin confirmed he “gained financial freedom” via his “accessible price” on Cameo and is therefore able to explore other career avenues.
He said: “James was incredibly popular from the start, but he’s stayed committed to his fans, always keeping an accessible price (even during his busiest periods) and giving his all to make each Cameo special.
“In return, he’s gained the financial freedom and overwhelming fan support to pursue the projects he’s most passionate about like ‘2:22 – A Ghost Story’, the West End play I was fortunate enough to see him and Tom star in, and his family’s YouTube channel, ‘At Home With The Buckleys’.”
Worldwide, Cameo’s biggest stars include ‘The Office US’ actor Brian Baumgartner, ‘Grease’ star Didi Conn and actor Michael Rapaport.
Previously, James ruled “there’s not enough money in the world” for him to return to E4 comedy ‘The Inbetweeners’, which ran for three seasons and spawned two movies.
He said: “I love the boys, I love the writers. Doing ‘The Inbetweeners’ was the best job in the world.
“All we did was muck around all day long and they filmed us doing it, and, at the end of the day, we might have had an episode … or a film or something.
“But it might – you know, as I’m getting older – it’s looking like it might be the only thing that I do professionally that is universally loved.
“There’s not enough money in the world for me to spoil that.”

Les Dennis won’t try to imitate Lennard Pearce in Only Fools and Horses musical

OHMYGOSSIP — Les Dennis won’t try to imitate ‘Only Fools and Horses’ star Lennard Pearce when he takes on the role of Grandad in the West End show.
The former ‘Family Fortunes’ presenter has worked as an impressionist over the years, but he won’t turn to such a skill set in the musical because he wants his part to be a “tribute” to the late star, who played the sitcom character from 1981 to 1984.
He said: “I was an impressionist, but I didn’t want to bring that sense here at this time.
“I want to do my version, that is a tribute. I want to honour what Lennard Pearce did without it being a straight out impression.”
Les is no stranger to the legendary TV series – which ran from 1981 to 2003 – because he used to see Sir David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst, who played market trader brothers Del Boy and Rodney Trotter, at the BBC in the 1980s.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “We were working with the BBC, doing our ‘Laughter Show’, and ‘Fools and Horses’ was in the next studio. I used to see them in the canteen and meet with David and Nick Lyndhurst.
“Nick and Lennard Pearce, actually came and did a sketch with me and Dustin [Gee] on ‘The Laughter Show’.
“We were thrilled because this show was taking off massively, at a time that we were trying to get our double-act going. Things have kind of come full circle.”
As well as starring in the ‘Only Fools’ musical, Les still harbours ambitions to return to ‘Coronation Street’ one day – as Mavis Wilton’s long-lost brother.
The 68-year-old comedian and actor played Michael Rodwell on the ITV soap for two-and-a-half years until the character was killed off after suffering a heart attack and being left for dead by evil Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre).
But Les has come up with an idea for how he might be able to grace the cobbles once again.
When asked if he could head back to the show as Michael’s evil twin, he said: “Yeah, we could. Or maybe as Mavis’ brother? Her long-lost brother.”
“Yeah, a friend that would keep saying, ‘Ooh, I don’t really know.’ It could work. Anything is possible.”
Mavis – who was known for her catchphrase “ooh, I don’t really know” – was played by Thelma Barlow from 1971 to 1997 and was regularly part of comical scenes with her corner shop boss Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox) and her husband Derek Wilton (Peter Baldwin).

Jorgie Porter ‘feeling shattered’ during pregnancy

OHMYGOSSIP — Jorgie Porter is “feeling shattered” in her last few months of pregnancy.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ star is awaiting the arrival of a baby boy with her fiance Oliver Piotrowski, 33, and shared an update on her social media before her due date – which is sometime in December – after she ventured back to the Cheshire-based soap following her recent babymoon.
On Instagram, the 34-year-old actress shared she was “trying to sort baby bits out” and “genuinely felt shattered”.
She quipped: “Where’s this third trimester energy you all told me about?”
Jorgie also included a quote from the late ‘Star Wars’ actress Carrie Fisher in the caption of a gallery she uploaded, writing: “Everything grows rounder and wider and weirder, and I sit here in the middle of it all and wonder who in the world you will turn out to be.”
Recently, the actress – who is best known for playing Theresa McQueen on the Channel 4 soap – admitted her pregnancy news was “a dream come true” after previously experiencing baby loss.
Jorgie said: “We’re thrilled to reveal that we’re expecting a baby boy. Ollie and I didn’t mind either way, of course. All we wanted was a baby.
“He’s certainly very active, and I can feel him doing somersaults and backflips. It’s incredible to think what we’ve created.”
Jorgie detailed how “devastating” it was to go through two unsuccessful pregnancies in less than a year, especially while receiving the news of their second on the same day as their engagement party.
She added: “But I felt we had to go through with the party as we were in a room full of friends and family who love us.
“It was so hard not telling anyone, but we knew we’d have their support when we told them later.
“We’ve learnt to appreciate every moment and after our experience over the past year, Ollie and I have become stronger than ever.
“Now we can’t wait to share that love with our little one.”

Joe Swash ‘already filming All Stars I’m a Celebrity’ in South Africa

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Swash has reportedly signed up for the ‘All Stars’ version of ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor, 40, is said to have already travelled to South Africa to take part in the upcoming ITV spin-off show, after he won ‘I’m a Celebrity’ in 2008 and spent a decade hosting its ITV2 sister show ‘Extra Camp’ from 2009.
A source told The Sun on Monday night (26.09.22): “Joe was always on the producers’ hit list as he was such an iconic winner. But they had to iron out the timings and came to a conclusion that worked.
“He has flown out there and can’t wait to give a good account of himself for a second time on the show.”
Joe, who shares two children with ‘Loose Women’ panellist Stacey Solomon, is thought to be at Kruger National Park with fellow contestants Myleene Klass, Jordan Banjo and Paul Burrell.
Stacey, 32, has hinted Joe is away for work by posting a picture of their three-year-old son Rex and 11-month-old daughter Rose alongside the caption: “Since Joe’s been away the last couple of weeks these two have got so close to each other and every morning they get into bed with me.”
Joe was propelled to fame playing Micky on the BBC’s ‘EastEnders’, and along with the two children he has with Stacey he has another child from a previous relationship.
Stacey is also mum to children Zachary and Leighton with two different exes, and married Joe this summer, in a ceremony at their £1.2 million ‘Pickle Cottage’ mansion in Essex.
Stacey has also featured on ‘I’m a Celebrity’, winning the 2010 run of the show and being crowned ‘Queen of the Jungle’.

Christian Bale ‘isolated’ himself from Chris Rock on Amsterdam set because he was too funny

OHMYGOSSIP — Christian Bale avoided Chris Rock on the set of ‘Amsterdam’ because he was too “bloody funny”.
The 48-year-old actor is known for his method acting on set, but he struggled to get into character while make David O. Russell’s new movie because his co-star kept making him laugh.
He told IndieWire: “I remember his first day, I was excited to meet him, I’m a big fan of his standup. Then he arrives, and he’s doing some things…
“David [O. Russell] told him to tell me some stories that I didn’t know he was gonna tell me, which is the way David works often. And I was loving it.
“But Chris is so bloody funny and I found that I couldn’t act, because I was just becoming Christian laughing at Chris Rock.
“So I had to go to him, I went, ‘Mate, I love talking to you, and we have mutual friends, but I can’t do it anymore. Because David didn’t ask me to make this film so he could just watch me giggle. He wants me to be Burt and I’m forgetting how to be Burt.’ ”
Bale admitted the idea of distancing himself from co-stars is a method he adopts as part of his process when he’s working on a project, because he helps him stay in character.
He explained: “I often meet these incredible people, but I isolate myself. Because if I get to know people too much, I find I just don’t believe what I’m doing in the scene.”
It’s a contrast to the way Margot Robbie and John David Washington worked on the film, as the cast mates forged a close bond as it was the first time they’d worked under ‘American Hustle’ filmmaker Russell.
Margot recently said: “We immediately kind of clung to each other, like, ‘OK, are you scared? Because I’m scared. Ah! What do we do?
“Then, you dive in headfirst and you have the time of your life, and Christian (Bale’s) going like, ‘Don’t worry. It’s always like this. You never know what’s going to happen when you go to work that day’, and you really don’t, and that is thrilling.”

Kevin Feige: It would’ve been too soon to recast Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa in Wakanda Forever

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Feige says Chadwick Boseman’s character wasn’t re-cast in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ because it was “much too soon”.
The actor died from colon cancer aged 43 in 2020, and Marvel Studios president Feige has admitted a decision was made not to have King T’Challa played by another actor in the upcoming ‘Black Panther’ sequel because the world is “still processing the loss of Chad”.
He said: “It just felt like it was much too soon to recast.
“Stan Lee always said that Marvel represents the world outside your window. And we had talked about how, as extraordinary and fantastical as our characters and stories are, there’s a relatable and human element to everything we do.
“The world is still processing the loss of Chad. And [director] Ryan [Coogler] poured that into the story.”
Feige admitted he and his Marvel bosses then had discussions about how Boseman could be honoured in the movie.
He added to Empire magazine: “The conversations were entirely about, yes, ‘What do we do next? And how could the legacy of Chadwick – and what he had done to help Wakanda and the Black Panther become these incredible, aspirational, iconic ideas – continue? That’s what it was all about.”
‘Wakanda Forever’ star Lupita Nyong’o – who appeared as Nakia in the 2018 MCU movie – recently told how she “dreaded” shooting the motion picture without Boseman.
She said: “I didn’t have doubts – I had dread. Ryan had walked me through what the film was going to be when Chadwick was still alive. And so once we lost him, the thought that we could go on, it was just unfathomable to me.
“What Ryan ended up sharing with me was just so utterly truthful and beautiful. By the end of it, I was in tears.”
The forthcoming film, which is due for release on November 11, sees Letitia Wright step into the leading role of Marvel superhero Shuri.
