OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Doctor Who’ star Jodie Whittaker keeps WhatsApping Ncuti Gwata “eight minute monologues”.
The outgoing Time Lord – who was the first woman to assume the role in its six decade history – labelled the casting of the 29-year-old actor “inspired” as she detailed sending him long videos via text message and how she has moved on enough to just feel happy for the ‘Sex Education’ star assuming the role she has played since 2017.
The 40-year-old actress told Empire magazine: “Unfortunately for Ncuti, he gave me his number. So he’s getting eight-minute monologues from me on WhatsApp.
“Luckily, enough time had passed between finishing shooting and finding out about the new Doctor for me to just feel pure excitement about it. It’s inspired casting. He’s gonna smash it.”
Jodie’s last go as Doctor Who – an episode titled ‘The Power of the Doctor’ – will air in October as the final installment in the trilogy of specials, which have been broadcast throughout 2022 with the first landing on New Year’s’ Day, and will feature fan-favourite companion, Bradley Walsh.

He said: “Jodie’s final feature-length story contains a plethora of treats and surprises for audiences and fans, not least the return of two of the most beloved companions in the show’s history.
“They’ll be helping the Doctor fight on three fronts, against her deadliest enemies: the Master, Daleks and Cybermen, in one huge story!
“For the BBC’s centenary, we’ll be celebrating the past, present and future of Doctor Who, in a fittingly thrilling, epic and emotional send-off for the Thirteenth Doctor.”
Rumours surrounding the anniversary celebrations of the show have swirled since David Tennant – who played the Tenth Doctor between 2005 and 2010 – was photographed on the set in Bristol along with Catherine Tate, who played his ex companion Donna but the rest is being kept under wraps.

Peter Crouch says The Masked Dancer will show ‘a different side’ of his personality

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Crouch says ‘The Masked Dancer’ will show “a different side” of his personality.
The ex Liverpool FC striker – who has been named a judge on alongside Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Oti Mabuse on the ITV secret star-studded show hosted by Joel Dommett – believes since leaving football behind he is less “guarded”.
The 41-year-old former footballer – who was known for doing ‘the robot’ on the pitch after scoring – told the Mirror newspaper: “I think viewers have seen a different side to me.
“With football, I think you’re so guarded in interviews and you’re taught from such a young age to say nothing because you don’t want to be tripped up.
“But now I’ve finished football, I’ve just cared less. I’ve been more like, this is me, I am who I am.
“I think people can see the person I am behind the football.”
Peter labelled the beautiful game his “passion” and has no clue how he has made a name for himself in broadcasting.
He said: “Football is my passion and playing for England and things like that… I probably had similar nerves doing this.
“Like the World Cup, but at least I trained for that and knew what I was doing! Here I’m like, ‘How on earth did this happen?’”
The former Tottenham Hotspur player revealed his daughters Sophia,11, and Liberty, seven, – who he has with his model wife Abbey Clancy, 36, who is also mother to their two sons Johnny, four, and Jack, three, – are “desperate” to find out the identities of the celeb contestants – which are revealed after they are eliminated – but he has managed to keep stum.
Peter said: “My girls have been desperate to know so they can tell their mates. But my lips are sealed.”
Earlier this month, the ‘That Peter Crouch Podcast’ host admitted his new judging gig was “more nerve-wracking” than taking a penalty for England.
Peter said: “I trained every single day of my life to play football so being in that position, you know you’ve been in training for it and you’re ready to go.”

Strictly star Kaye Adams suffers painful rib injury

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Kaye Adams has suffered a painful rib injury during rehearsals.
The 59-year-old ‘Loose Women’ regular is among the famous faces competing in the 2022 series of the BBC talent show and she’s revealed she’s sustained some nasty bruising across her chest after being “thrown around” the dance floor by her 27-year-old professional partner Kai Widdrington.
Kaye revealed the injury in an Instagram video with her co-star Nadia Sawalha, with the TV star asking her pal: “Do you want to see my wound?” before lifting up her shirt to show tape across her torso.
She then explained: “Just taping up my ribs. It’s not a plaster, it’s because there’s a big bruise on my ribs. I’ve been too energetic getting thrown around”.
Kaye added that the pair have been practising lifts and that’s how she hurt her ribs.
It comes after Kaye admitted she felt pretty terrified about taking part in the show, but decided to push through her fear to compete this year.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ when she announced her involvement in ‘Strictly’, Kaye explained: “Actually it’s quite funny because I’m terrified, I’m absolutely terrified … It’ll be a journey. I’ll be honest with you, I can think of a million reasons not to do this and when these gorgeous dancers came on, I nearly exited from both ends of my body, honestly.
“But I thought, ‘Am I going to be thinking at the end of September, I wish I’d done this?’ I’m 59, 60 at the end of this year and I was like, ‘Well, why not?'”

Barbara Broccoli confirms new trajectory for James Bond

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are planning a different trajectory for the James Bond franchise.
The producers are searching for a new actor to play 007 after Daniel Craig bowed out in ‘No Time To Die’ and Barbara has confirmed that film chiefs have to “reimagine the direction” for the long-running spy franchise.
In an interview with Empire magazine, Barbara said: “When you change the actor you have to reimagine the direction the film’s gonna go on. When you hire an actor, you’re hoping you’re going to spend a decade at least with them and make four or five or six films with them.
“So you have to think through, ‘What is the trajectory? What is that actor going to bring? How are you going to move the series into another direction?'”
The 62-year-old producer added: “It’s not just flicking through ‘Spotlight’ and saying, ‘Oh, there’s a guy who’s 6’1’.”
Barbara explained that she and Michael will be patient as they look for a successor to Craig.
She said: “We’re going to take our time. We want to get a sense of where we want to go with the series and we want to do that before we bring anybody else on. We’ll start the process probably with (writers) Rob (Wade) and Neil (Purvis) and we’ll see where we go!”
The ending of ‘No Time To Die’ saw Craig’s Bond sacrifice himself to save love interest Dr. Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) and his daughter Mathilde and Barbara recalled the shock at the ending when it was seen for the first time at the premiere last year.
She said: “It was incredible at the ‘No Time To Die’ premiere with 4,000 people and you could hear all the people, their breath and their heartbeats and they’re going, ‘This isn’t happening…’ And it happens.”

Colin Trevorrow: Jurassic Park sequels should never have happened

OHMYGOSSIP — Colin Trevorrow has claimed that the ‘Jurassic Park’ sequels should never have been made.
The 46-year-old filmmaker helmed ‘Jurassic World Dominion’, which was met with a negative response by critics, and suggested that Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 film should have been a standalone picture as the series is “inherently un-franchisable”.
Colin told Empire magazine: “There probably should have only been one ‘Jurassic Park’ – but if we’re gonna do it, how can I allow them to tell stories in a world which dinosaurs exist, as opposed to, here’s another reason why we’re going to an island?”
Despite the poor reception from critics, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ proved to be a hit at the box office and Colin explained that he tried to do something different to bring a close to the ‘Jurassic World’ trilogy.
He said of the film: “I specifically did something different than the other films in order to change the DNA of the franchise. The previous five films are plots about dinosaurs. This one is a story about characters in a world in which they coexist with dinosaurs.”
Colin revealed that he introduced new characters in ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ so that the sci-fi action franchise can continue for a “new generation”.
The director said: “This movie clearly takes a real interest in creating new characters that a new generation is going to latch on to – Kayla Watts (DeWanda Wise), and Mamoudou Athie’s character Ramsay Cole, who I think, in the Extended Edition, you really feel his purpose in a greater way.
“And Dichen Lachman’s character (Soyona Santos), who just gets arrested at the end. There’s more to come.”

The former ‘Dancing on Ice’ star – who is the daughter of married presenting duo who hosted the axed Channel 4 morning show ‘Richard and Judy’ – has bonded more with her 74-year-old mother since having her two-month-old daughter Bodhi.
While appearing on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (30.09.2022), the 35-year-old television personality told the panel: “I would say since getting pregnant, I’ve never had such a strong relationship with my Mum. I’ve always been a bit of a daddy’s girl and I feel a bit guilty saying that but it is what it is.”
Chloe detailed how she and her rugby player husband James Haskell, 37, were living back with her parents while theirs was getting remodelled.
“We’re having our house redone and we needed somewhere to live. I tentatively asked Mum and Dad, ‘How would you feel if we were to come and stay just for a week?’ My mum – because I was heavily pregnant at the time – thought her birthdays and Christmases had all come at once.
The fitness fanatic called their new lifestyle “cute” as she described how her 66-year-old father would watch the little one in the morning.
Chloe said: “It’s really cute – Dad will take her for an hour every morning upstairs just to lie in bed with my Mum while she reads the papers. I get an hour to just have a shower. Just that, is incredible.”
The ex ‘I’m A Celeb’ star revealed she was “nervous” to have children.
Chloe said: “I spent a long time not sure if I wanted children, and I think a lot of women don’t necessarily talk about it. In the third trimester. I was really nervous, like, I hope I’ve made the right decision and I kind of thought that would go away. It didn’t, and I was really nervous about it. As soon as I saw her I just fell madly in love and thought, ‘This is the best thing I’ve ever done!'”
You can watch ‘Loose Women’ weekdays from 12:30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.

Escape to the Chateau is ending after nine seasons

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Escape to the Chateau’ is coming to an end.
The Channel 4 show is coming to a close after nine seasons of documenting Dick Strawbridge, 63, and Angel Adoree, 44, renovating a French castle and turning it into a hotel – which was closed for two years due to COVID-19 – alongside raising their two kids.
The husband and wife duo said: “‘Escape to the Chateau’ has been our family journey; our decision to buy a Chateau with no water, electricity, heating or sewage has taken us on the adventure of a lifetime and we could never have imagined what would unfold. The good, the bad and the ugly… we have cherished every second and love that we have a visual record to show Arthur and Dorothy when they’re older.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who continues to support us, and we’re looking forward to what the future holds. As one Chateau chapter ends, so another Chateau story begins…’’
The channe’s senior commissioning editor, Clemency Green, Senior Commissioning Editor said: “Across nine series we have seen the chateau rise from its ruins into the beautiful home and venue it is today. We look forward to working with Two Rivers and Chateau TV to follow Dick and Angel as they turn their attentions to new projects and new adventures, firstly unlocking the secrets of beautiful France in a brand new travel series.”
Fans of the show do not need to despair too much as ‘Escape to the Chateau: Secret France’ will debut in 2023, which will see Dick and Angel exploring hidden parts of their adopted home.

Max George ‘signs up for Scared of the Dark’

OHMYGOSSIP — Max George has signed up for ‘Scared of the Dark’.
The 34-year-old singer – who recently went Instagram official with former ‘EastEnders’ star Maisie Smith, 21 – has joined the lineup of the new Channel 4 programme alongside former ‘Gogglebox’ star Scarlett Moffatt, 31.
A TV insider told The Sun’s newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Max is always good value and he was really intrigued by the experiment and genuinely interested in how his body and mind would react in those circumstances.”
Scarlett – who was crowned Queen of the Jungle on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2016 – is tipped to be “slightly more scared” but up for the challenge, especially since footballing legend Paul Gascoigne, 55, is slated to appear too.
They added: “Scarlett is slightly more scared but will take it in good spirits.
“Having a fellow Geordie involved in the form of Gazza means she will have someone to bounce off.”
The six-part series – which was announced in May – will see a group of celebs literally give up the spotlight as they live in pitch black for a week in a specially designed environment, and take part in an array of challenges to find one winner.
Simone Haywood, the Head of Factual Entertainment at MultiStory Media, one of the production companies bringing it to life, said: “10 million of us in the UK are reportedly scared of the dark. From managing their primal fears to the nuances of group bonding without the aid of traditional social cues, exploring the different ways people cope with light deprivation makes for a fascinating experiment.”
Tom Beck, the network’s Head of Live Events, said: “Funny, frightening and totally unexpected, this idea really jumped out at us – much like we’ll be jumping out and surprising a load of terrified celebrities. The show promises an enticing mix of reality, entertainment and experiment and I can’t wait to turn the lights off and get started.”

ITV boss claims This Morning’s Holly and Phil were ‘misrepresented’ over ‘queue-jump’ claims

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV’s boss has claimed Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have been “misrepresented” over claims they “jumped the queue” while visiting Westminster Hall as the late Queen Elizabeth was lying in state.
Dame Carolyn McCall insists the ‘This Morning’ pair are safe in their jobs on the ITV brunchtime show and insisted they have done “nothing” wrong, and that it has been “really horrible for them”.
When asked at the RTS London Convention what the co-hosts did wrong, she said: “Honestly, nothing. Honestly.
“They did have accreditation. Lots of people saying they didn’t. They were sent by This Morning to do a piece for 20 September which ran.
“They were to interview people inside and outside. They didn’t displace anyone in the queue. And they’ve been very misrepresented, actually.
“And that’s why we made a statement. Unusually, we made a statement to say all of those things. But it does show you how things spread and how misinformation just spreads. And it is really horrible for them.
“I think they’re highly relevant and still very topical, and I think the majority of their viewers love watching them.
“But there is a very shrill kind of voice against and it will hurt them.
“It’s hard. You imagine yourself in the eye of the storm like this, where you’re trying to say you’ve done nothing wrong and all the noise around you is saying that you have. It’s difficult to handle.”
Carolyn also revealed ITV had spoken to Domino’s after the pizza restaurant chain made a joke at Holly and Phil’s expense about the queue-jumping controversy.
Earlier this month, a tweet on the Domino’s Twitter account read: “Apologies to anyone waiting on their pizza, we’ve just received an order from Holly and Phil #ThisMorning”
Carolyn explained: “We just said to them, ‘What are you doing?’ because we work with Domino’s and they said, ‘We think it is really funny, don’t you?’
“They just thought that was funny. They didn’t think of the impact that would have on how people would pick it up and start meme-ing it.
“I think that’s what happens with these things which are … they did not do anything wrong.
“They were with loads of other broadcasters, many of whom you know, and they were with lots of press journalists.”
Several stars, including Graham Norton and Piers Morgan, have also shot to Holly and Phil’s defence over the queue-jumping claims, following the death of the queen on September 8th aged 96.
What’s more, a petition to “axe Holly and Phil from TV” has been signed more than 76,000 times.

David Walliams and Sheridan Smith have a marriage pact

OHMYGOSSIP — David Walliams and Sheridan Smith have a marriage pact.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge says he and the actress – who stars in ‘Gangsta Granny Strikes Again’, the adaptation of his best-selling book series – have made an arrangement to tie the knot one day if they have “exhausted all other opportunities”.
While appearing on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’ on Wednesday (28.09.22), the 51-year-old comedian told host Lorraine Kelly: “We have a lot of fun together actually.
“We talk about getting married when we are older, when we have exhausted all other opportunities.”
David asked the 62-year-old broadcaster: “Did you ever have those kind of pacts with someone? Do you know what I mean? If we are still single, aged 90, we will get married to each other.”
Lorraine – who has been married to Steve Smith since 1992 and shares daughter Rosie, 28, with the cameraman – admitted she did have a thing with her school pal.
She told David: “Me and Stuart Harris, we were going to do that. We always had the pact at school that that would be the thing. It’s good to have someone like that. It really is.”
The ‘Little Britain’ star and Sheridan, 41, both have children from previous relationships. David has nine-year-old son Alfred with his ex-wife, model Lara Stone, and Sheridan has two-year-old son Billy with her former fiance Jamie Horn.
In 2006, David teased he’d previously had his heart broken by a mystery woman who he declined to name, identifying her only as “Miss X”.
But model and television presenter Lisa Snowdon outed herself as the woman.
She said: “Yes, it’s me – I’m Miss X.”
The ‘This Morning’ fashion presenter – who famously once dated Hollywood icon George Clooney – admitted she was “hoping no one would realise” it was her.
Lisa – who is now engaged to George Smart – said: “David and I are great friends and he is such an amazing bloke, but there is no romance.”

Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page have moved in together

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ stars Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page have moved in together.
The finalists of the ITV2 dating competition are “buzzing” to have shacked up together two months after they left the Mallorcan villa, after finishing fourth on the show.
The 27-year-old reality star revealed the 24-year-old model had opted to get her hair done on their move-in day.
He said: “Today is moving day, buzzing. But guess what… I’m doing it all by myself because Tasha’s decided to go get her hair done.
“Baffling. A day where we need to be together to do this. But, shock, she is getting her hair done.”
Andrew told his Instagram followers: “Anyway, this is a mess at the moment. But today is moving day.”
He later added: “Alright people, we’ve officially moved in – even though I’ve done all the work.”
Previously, Tasha shared she was “excited” about the prospect of soon hearing wedding bells, because she wants to settle down sooner rather than later.
She said: “I told Andrew it’s up to you if you want to propose. It’s in his hands.
“The reason why we’re thinking like that is because we’re both so excited and we’re enjoying our time together. It’s the kind of love that you just want to do it, it gets me excited if I talk about it. I get way ahead of myself but it’s up to Andrew isn’t it?
“Even before ‘Love Island’ I always wanted to get engaged and married young, which has always been my dream.
“Having kids hasn’t been in my head, nothing personal against children but I didn’t see it in my plans.
“But when I met Andrew and we had the baby challenge I could start to envisage it, but I said to him that would be many, many, many, years down the line.”

Vernon Kay to make stage debut in Cinderella panto

OHMYGOSSIP — Vernon Kay will make his stage debut this year.
The BBC Radio 2 presenter “can’t think of a better way” to mark his first go at treading the boards than as the servant Dandini in pantomime ‘Cinderella’ this Christmas at the Wycombe Swan Theatre in Buckinghamshire, a career move inspired by his daughters Phoebe, 17, and Amber, 13, who he shares with his wife, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ host Tess Daly, 53.
The 48-year-old said told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I can’t think of a better way to make my stage debut.
“We’re a family of panto lovers, my two daughters, Tess and I go every year.
“My girls said, ‘Dad you have to do it’ and I couldn’t have agreed more.
“I love it and it’s also where dad jokes rule, and I’m the king of the dad joke.”
Recently, Vernon gushed about his 2020 stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, admitting living in North Wales’ Gwyrch Castle “an absolute scream”.
He said: “I remember the first thing Shane Richie said. It was when we jumped off the edge of that cliff. It was, ‘Listen, before we start, if you’ve got a plan where you’re thinking of being someone else, or gonna show a personality that isn’t yours, you’re gonna get into trouble. So let’s all just get on and have a great time and it’ll be a lot of fun.’ And it was!
“Me and Shane, we had an absolute scream in there. I would definitely do it again.”
The sometime ‘This Morning’ presenter believes it’s incredibly vital to “step away” from the stresses of modern life at times.
Speaking about ‘I’m A Celebrity’, Vernon said: “It’s just three weeks of life! It’s like Mr Benn, where you go to the back of the clothes shop, put on an outfit and go into another world. People don’t realise how important it is to just step away.
“That’s what I learned by doing ‘I’m A Celebrity’. Put your phone down, put your emails on ‘out of office’ and put the digital world in the bin for, maybe 48 hours. Having a detox opens your eyes to, excuse my language, the absolute c*** we deal with on a day-to-day basis.”

Andrew Dominik hesitated in making Blonde

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Dominik waited 12 years to bring ‘Blonde’ to the big screen.
The 54-year-old filmmaker has written and directed the adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’ novel and began development on the flick more than a decade ago before “swearing off” the film several times.
Speaking to IndieWire, Andrew said: “There were many times I swore off ‘Blonde’.
“When it breaks your heart, you want to let go of the damn thing, but it just wouldn’t leave me alone.”
Ana de Armas plays Marilyn in the movie and Andrew revealed that the actress surpassed his own expectations with her portrayal of the tragic Hollywood legend.
The ‘Killing Them Softly’ director said: “She was always better than I thought she was going to be. I mean, I couldn’t have shot that movie in 45 days without her because she was the rock around which the whole thing had to function.”
Dominik explained that he relished the tight production schedule as it prevented boredom and allow the crew to work instinctively.
He said: “It’s less boring. I have done stuff where you shoot take after take of a 15-minute dialogue scene and you start to bore yourself.
“There’s something about having to operate from instinct, particularly for the crew. There’s a lot of camera protocol that I try to dispense with and just throw them in before they’re ready, and it’s amazing how good they are on instinct.”
Andrew continued: “You’ll see a focus puller who doesn’t know what the actor’s going to do, and they pull focus really well when they don’t know what’s coming. Then on the next take, when they do know what’s coming, they’re not as good.”

Zac Efron picks challenging roles after High School Musical

OHMYGOSSIP — Zac Efron wanted to challenge himself after ‘High School Musical’.
The 34-year-old actor rose to fame as Troy Bolton in the Disney trilogy and revealed that he has wanted to take on acting roles that people may not have expected as his screen career has progressed, as shown in his latest film ‘The Greatest Beer Run Ever’.
Zac told the Metro newspaper: “I’m constantly faced with two paths. The road that leads to something everybody has already seen or is expecting, or the more challenging road, which tends to be a bit more confusing and definitely the harder road to take. And inevitably I always go with that road when I can.”
‘The Greatest Beer Run Ever’ tells the story of former Marine John ‘Chickie’ Donohue, who made a mad dash to Vietnam in 1967 with a holdall of beers to support his friends fighting in the Vietnam War and Efron was drawn in by the outlandish story.
Zac said: “He was purely motivated with good intentions, to lift up his friends, and the only feedback he seemed to be getting was probably negative.
“I think that everyone thought he was crazy for doing it. So I love that he just stuck to his own guns and went out there and became somebody that his friends could rely on. It was a tremendous, tremendous feat.”
Efron explained that he enjoyed the blend of humour amid the backdrop of the seriousness of the Vietnam War.
The ‘Gold’ actor said: “I love the seriousness of the subject matter, and I also love the balancing act of finding the humour and the moments of humanity in this crazy, crazy time in American history… it’s all sort of this moving puzzle that is really fun.”

Guy Pearce ‘waiting on email’ from Marvel about reprising Killian character

OHMYGOSSIP — Guy Pearce is “still waiting on an email” from Marvel about reprising his role as Aldrich Killian.
The 54-year-old actor portrayed the villain in 2013 movie ‘Iron Man 3’ opposite Robert Downey Jr. – who portrayed the titular superhero – and he is up for returning as the character in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)N film, but is yet to hear anything.
He said: “I can’t say. I’m still waiting on an email back from Marvel.
“It’s been a couple of years now, but I’ll let you know.”
Asked if he has spoken to Sir Ben Kingsley about reprising his role as Trevor Slattery – who he played in ‘Iron Man 3’ and recently portrayed again in 2021 film ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ – Pearce told ComicBook.com: “No, I haven’t actually.
“Um, and I suppose I’ve just written off the idea because of what happened to Aldrich Killian at the end of ‘Iron Man 3’ but at the same time, within those worlds kind of anything is possible, and yet I still haven’t received a call from anyone at Marvel.
“So I’m not sure if it’s in the works, but who knows.”
Earlier this month, Kingsley spoke about jester Slattery, admitting he thinks there is something “pure” about his MCU character.
The star joked that while he hasn’t actually told his character he will be returning to the comic book franchise for a third in upcoming series ‘Wonder Man’, it is the “child” in him that resonates with the audience.
He said: “Well I haven’t actually broken the news to Trev that he is about to embark on his third incarnation but if I could find him in a pub in Liverpool, I should tell him, gently and quietly in a corner ‘Trev, we’re on. Let me speculate on why [there is a love for the MCU].
“Like ‘Dhali’, there is something of the child in Trev and there is something pure in Trev and perhaps that touches the unconscious in the audience. That’s probably a ludicrous answer, but I had a go!”
