Tony Adams admits to being ‘overwhelmed’ by support

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Adams has been “overwhelmed” by the support he’s received from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ viewers.

Discussing his emotional reaction to the support, Tony – who battled alcoholism during his playing career – told Metro.co.uk: “I never could feel it. I couldn’t feel any feelings – I suppressed them with alcohol and stuff.
“But as I’ve come to and in this world, it took me a long time to receive love and to be … There’s 200 great comments and you get one person saying ‘you’re an idiot’, I’m like, ‘I’m rubbish!’ But I just started to go actually, I felt a little bit overwhelmed with the outpouring of ‘good for you’.
“I’m getting a little bit teary now.”
Tony previously revealed that he was looking forward to learning a “new skill” on ‘Strictly’.
Asked why he decided to sign up for ‘Strictly’, Tony replied: “I’m now free of addiction and I can do anything I want. So I have decided to learn a new skill, dancing! It looks like a fun show so I am looking forward to it.”
Tony admitted that ‘Strictly’ was a completely new experience for him.
Despite this, the former England captain was looking forward to taking himself out of his own comfort zone.
He said: “I played football for over three decades and I broke my nose five times in the first year of my career, it’s a very physical game.
“Then in 1998, I played with a player that did his hair before we went out The game had completely changed. That player was David Beckham. I said, ‘You’re going to be running around!’ and he said, ‘Still got to look good mate.’ So look, if that’s what it takes, I am quite happy, I don’t really care what other people think about me, so I am up for a bit of a laugh!”

Bette Midler didn’t expect to make Hocus Pocus 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Bette Midler never expected to make a ‘Hocus Pocus’ sequel.
The 76-year-old actress reprises her role as witch Winnie Sanderson in the fantasy comedy sequel and didn’t think that a follow-up to the 1993 cult classic would be possible.
Asked if she ever expected the release of ‘Hocus Pocus 2’, Bette told Collider: “I didn’t until the day finally came. And then, I realised, ‘Oh, we’re really gonna do this.’ This was a dream come true, it really was.
“After I realised it was actually a phenomenon, I started asking people around my age, ‘Don’t you think they would be interested in a sequel?’ This was like 15 years ago, or something like that. And here we are.”
The ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ hitmaker added: “I do love a franchise. I think I’m a little elderly for a franchise, at this point, but I’ll take what I can get.”
The original ‘Hocus Pocus’ film has become a cult classic and Bette’s co-star Kathy Najimy – who plays Winnie’s sister Mary Sanderson – is surprised by the success.
The 65-year-old star said: “I don’t think that anyone could ever decide that ahead of time, or else everybody would make that kind of movie. You just make films, and you go on to the next one.
“There was something in this film that was ‘The Wizard of Oz’-ish, where the generation shows it to their kids, who then show it to their kids, and so on, and it becomes part of the fabric of the history of the family. I don’t think that anyone could ever predict that.”
Anne Fletcher, who has directed the sequel, described the original movie as “generational” and “perennial”.
She said: “I think it is generational, and it’s perennial. You can watch it with your whole family.”

Michael Madsen joins Max Dagan cast

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Madsen has joined the cast of ‘Max Dagan’.
The 65-year-old actor has boarded the indie drama with Rob Morrow and Jay Mohr.
Terre Weisman is to write and direct the movie with Kirk Fox, Jeffrey Ross, Rob Brownstein, Lisa Roumain, Jacob Wysocki and Eugenia Kuzmina rounding out the ensemble cast.
The story centres on Max Dagan (Zachary Gordon) as he works to earn his dying father a compassionate release from prison. In desperation, he seeks the help of Alaina (Lindsey Dresbach) – the daughter of the man his father killed.
Weisman said: “Attracting such talented actors with this script, adapted from my novel, is a testament to this original story that has been over a decade in the making.
“I’m truly honoured to collaborate with this incredible cast.”
Production on the project started recently in Los Angeles and the film is set for a festival run in 2023.
Terre and Mitch Weisman are producing for Creative Balance Films along with Rafi Jacobs, Stephen Mastrocola and Liana Montemayor for the newly-formed banner Static Films.
Michael starred as Mr. Blonde in Quentin Tarantino’s film ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and revealed that the acclaimed director planned a prequel movie that was a crossover between the 1992 flick and ‘Pulp Fiction’.
The film would have seen Mr. Blonde team up with John Travolta’s ‘Pulp Fiction’ character Vincent Vega.
The duo never met on-screen, although Tarantino has confirmed they are brothers, as Mr. Blonde’s real name is Vic Vega.
According to Madsen, the unmade project would have seen the pair working in the criminal underworld in Amsterdam, where Vincent had just returned from in the plot for ‘Pulp Fiction’.
He said: “The picture was going to start out with the two of us being released from prison in different states. And we open a club in Amsterdam.”

Sandra – who has Mark, 52, and Jamie, 49, with Harry – found solace in knowing she was “not alone” in her experience.
Despite this, Sandra and Harry – who raved about his wife during his winning stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ in 2018 – didn’t know what to do at the time.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager admitted to being really worried at the height of Sandra’s health struggle.
He said: “The symptoms weren’t good, if I’m truthful. You start to think about all kinds of sinister things. It’s been a real worry.

Gorka Marquez urges Helen Skelton to believe in herself

OHMYGOSSIP — Gorka Marquez wants Helen Skelton to “believe in herself”.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional is worried his partner – who split from husband Richie Myler earlier this year – isn’t able to “enjoy” the show as much as she could because her confidence is low at the moment.
Appearing on ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’, he said: “Obviously at the minute her confidence is not at her highest so I just want to work on building her confidence, and tell her she’s a beautiful dancer, she does well, I believe in her, I just need her to believe in herself because this goes very quick and the quicker she does that, the more she’s going to be able to enjoy it.”
Gorka then turned to his partner and said: “Just believe in yourself! Because you work very hard and you do incredibly.”
The former ‘Blue Peter’ presenter praised the dancer for his kindness.
She replied: “Everyone gushes about their teacher and you are a great teacher but you’ve been very kind to me as a friend.”
Host Janette Manrara praised Helen for all the feats she has accomplished in her career so far.
She said: “You are not afraid of difficult things and I have a list of ridiculously difficult challenges from your career and I have a list of them here. You’ve run an ultra marathon – that’s three marathons back to back in 24 hours – you’ve done a tightrope walk and you’ve kayaked solo down the Amazon. I mean, this must be a walk in the park for you.”
Gorka insisted Helen has “a lot of potential”.
He said: “I saw the potential from day one, when I met her and we had a little dance I thought she has a lot of potential, and I believe in her I thought she can go so far. When she step on the floor, she was just a beautiful dancer.”
The ‘Countryfile’ star admitted being on the show has been like a “rollercoaster”.
She explained: “I kept saying it’s a bit like a rollercoaster. You’re a bit nervous before you get on. But once you get on the rollercoaster you don’t wanna get off it. As soon as we stepped off the floor I said ‘can we do it again?’ ”
The pair will tackle one of the Latin dances this week and Helen admitted rehearsals have been “intense”.
She said: “I was asked to do a fast Latin dance and I said if we get through this week will we get to do a ballroom.
“I love it but it’s quite intense isn’t it.”

Sujata Day writing new American Pie film

OHMYGOSSIP — A new ‘American Pie’ movie is in the works.
The 1999 sex comedy – which was written by Adam Herz and directed by Paul Weitz – has spawned three sequels and five spin-off movies in the ‘American Pie Presents’ franchise, and now ‘Insecure’ actress Sujata Day has signed up to write a new script.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story is based on an original pitch by the ‘Definition Please’ filmmaker and is being described as a fresh take on the saga, though plot details have yet to be revealed.
Tara Reid, who played Vicky in the original movie, a role she reprised in sequel ‘American Pie 2’ two years later and ‘American Reunion’ in 2012, previously admitted she and her co-stars would love to make another movie in the series.
She said: “We’ve been talking about it for ages. We’d all love to do it, but we’ll see what happens.”
The actress has previously defended the risqué humour of the series, insisting the films all had “heart” and weren’t unkind, unlike many modern comedies.
She said: “So many actors were scared to make it at the time. They thought it went too far.
“But it’s ultimately a movie about awkward teens and it had so much heart in it.
“What I love about that movie is that there is no bullying or meanness. Lots of comedies these days are just mean.”
The ‘Sharknado’ star has also admitted she’d still love to win an Academy Award and has even practised her speeches in the mirror at home.
She said: “I still want that Oscar. That’s every actor’s dream.
“You have your speech all prepared and you practise it in the mirror with the toothpaste as your microphone.
“I would love a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame too – there’s still time for that.”

Don Cheadle’s Armor Wars being redeveloped as feature film

OHMYGOSSIP — Marvel’s ‘Armor Wars’ project is being redeveloped as a feature film.
Don Cheadle had been due to reprise his long-running MCU role as Colonel James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes AKA War Machine for a Disney+ series, but it has now been decided to transfer the project to the big screen instead.
Sources told The Hollywood reporter that the studio was “committed in getting the story told the right way” and in the development process, realised “a feature was better suited” for the project.
As well as Don remaining on board to star, Yassir Lester, who was hired as head writer for the series, is staying with the project and will write the film.
While Marvel had intended to start production on the series in 2023, it is now unknown when work will commence and as yet there is no director officially attached.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige first announced plans for the live-action series – which was named after a celebrated storyline in the ‘Iron Man’ comics in 1987 and 1988 – in late 2020 and a logo for the six-part programme was unveiled at Disney’s D23 Expo earlier this month.
Don will next play War Machine in the 2023 series ‘Secret Invasion’, which also stars Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn.
The 57-year-old actor – who first played the character in 2010’s ‘Iron Man 2’, when he replaced Terrence Howard in the role – recently said working on ‘Secret Invasion’ had been “lots of fun”.
He said: “In the trailer, you see that [Rhodes] got to confront Nick [Fury.].
“He and Fury are gonna go at it throughout this show, as far as what they need to do, given what’s happened on this planet at this point. It’s kind of a thriller and a different kind of show than you usually see in the MCU, which is great that we can continue to keep changing it up and switching it up. It’s lots of fun.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Majors is in talks to play Dennis Rodman in ’48 Hours in Vegas’.
The 33-year-old actor is set to portray the maverick basketball star in a film that will tell the tale of his infamous trip to Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA Finals.
Sources say that a deal for Jonathan to star in the movie is not done yet but negotiations are headed in the right direction.
The film is inspired by the crazy story of how “the Worm” went on a madcap adventure with his skittish assistant while in the midst of playing for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Finals.
The flick will detail a budding friendship that neither one of them thought possible but one that ends up solving both of their problems.
Rodman’s adventure was documented in the hit Netflix documentary ‘The Last Dance’ where Michael Jordan, Bulls coach Phil Jackson and the sports star’s ex-wife – the model Carmen Electra – all discussed the chaotic trip.

AJ Pritchard’s girlfriend Abbie Quinnen ‘devastated’ over split

OHMYGOSSIP — AJ Pritchard has reportedly split from his girlfriend Abbie Quinnen.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star has dated fellow dancer Abbie for four years after they met while working on one of his tours – but The Sun now reports the pair have called it quits with Abbie reportedly left “devastated” over the end of their relationship.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “He called time on their relationship last week. She’s devastated.”
It comes just weeks after Abbie seemingly dropped a clue about the state of their romance in an interview with MailOnline in which she revealed she had not seen her boyfriend “in a while”.
Earlier in September, she told the publication: “‘I haven’t seen him for a while though, I should be seeing him tonight. He’s been away filming something exciting, it’s top secret so I can’t tell you.”
She had been praising AJ for the way he looked after her following a freak accident at home which left her with third degree burns.
Back in January, 2021, Abbie was admitted to hospital in need of skin graft surgery after filming a YouTube stunt with a wine bottle and a flaming rope went horribly wrong.
The ex ‘Strictly’ star was by her side throughout the ordeal, and Abbie had nothing but kind words for her partner for helping her through.
She told MailOnline: “‘I can’t thank those at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital enough. AJ has been to every single appointment with me, he’s always there holding my hand … he’s the best honestly.”
Abbie previously told The Sun AJ was wracked with guilt over the accident, but insisted it had actually brought them closer together.
She said: “It definitely did affect our relationship but I think mostly for the better as it showed me just how much he cared and loved me.
“He’s been by my side every step of the way and even now he comes to every single laser, micro-needling or PRP appointment with me, which I am so grateful for! He’s always there holding my hand.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Whittaker gets tearful every time she talks about her departure from ‘Doctor Who’.
The 40-year-old ‘Broadchurch’ actress will make her final outing as the Thirteenth Doctor in the upcoming ‘Doctor Who’ centenary titled ‘The Power of the Doctor’ – which is part of the BBC’s celebrations to mark 100 years of broadcasting – and the episode is expected to show her regenerating into the Fourteenth Doctor, played by ‘Sex Education’ star Ncuti Gatwa.
Jodie is now preparing for her exit from the sci-fi franchise but admits she’s struggling to talk about her final scenes without getting emotional. She told Empire magazine: “I cannot talk about it without crying. I’ve got to get better at this, because this is the next few weeks for me – talking about my regeneration.”
Jodie went on to explain showrunner Chris Chibnall – who is leaving the show at the same time as her – wrote some extremely moving dialogue for her character’s big exit.
She added: “I love the dialogue Chris wrote for my regeneration. It captures my Doctor beautifully. It’s simple, epic and beautiful.

Chris previously described ‘The Power of the Doctor’ as an “epic and emotional send-off for the Thirteenth Doctor”, saying: “Jodie’s final feature-length story contains a plethora of treats and surprises for audiences and fans, not least the return of two of the most beloved companions in the show’s history. “They’ll be helping the Doctor fight on three fronts, against her deadliest enemies: the Master, Daleks and Cybermen, in one huge story! “For the BBC’s centenary, we’ll be celebrating the past, present and future of Doctor Who, in a fittingly thrilling, epic and emotional send-off for the Thirteenth Doctor.”

Masked Dancer to eliminate three contestants as one pulls out due to injury

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Masked Dancer’ will feature a triple unveiling after one of the contestants was forced to pull out of the show due to injury.
The show – hosted by Joel Dommett – had been due to unmask two of the disguised dancers on Saturday night (01.10.22), but two has now become three after one of the line-up took a tumble during rehearsals and suffered a nasty ankle injury which means they can no longer continue performing.
Bosses at ITV have not named which dancer has been injured so fans will have to tune in to see who is going home – as well as their secret identity.
A source told The Sun the accident was unfortunate as the star involve was not even rehearsing in costume.
They explained: “It’s really bad luck. ITV obviously aren’t revealing who the injured character is, they’ll wait for Saturday’s show.
“It’s ironic they got injured while they were not even wearing their crazy costume because the celebrities are barely out of them backstage.”
The last star to be unmasked on the show was 46-year-old choirmaster Gareth Malone, who was sent home by judges Peter Crouch, Davina McCall, Oti Mabuse and Jonathan Ross last week.
Following his elimination, Gareth – who was revealed to have been under the Cactus mask – said: “I have had so much fun. The last time I danced I was seven and I danced with a broom in the school play.”
Despite his musical background, Gareth confessed to being out of his “comfort zone” on the show. He said: “I’m never doing it again. I was sick with nerves. I’m so out of my comfort zone. I don’t know how to dance, I don’t have that thing.”
‘The Masked Dancer’ returns to ITV on Saturday (01.10.22) at 6.30pm.
