Doug Jones ecstatic with Hocus Pocus return

OHMYGOSSIP — Doug Jones was delighted to reprise the role of Billy Butcherson in ‘Hocus Pocus 2’.
The 62-year-old actor’s alter ego has been raised from the dead as a zombie for the sequel and Doug confessed that he has always hoped to play the character in another film.
Doug told Collider: “I’ve been asked, in many interviews over the years, and I’ve been acting for 36 years now, is there any one character I’ve played that I would love to revisit again? And Billy Butcherson was always my number one answer.”
The ‘Hellboy’ star is known for his portrayals of non-human creatures during his movie career and felt a sense of “joy” playing the “human-ish” part in the original 1993 film.
Doug said: “There were more layers to him and I wanted more backstory. When you’ve had a career like mine, and you’re glued into so much rubber and glue, and contact lenses and mechanics, and you can’t go to the bathroom with your hand claws on, I don’t always look forward to going into work because I know the day I have ahead of me.
“But Billy was a character that was human-ish, with humour, goofiness, fun, and a family-friendly vibe, who was headed toward a happy ending. All of that made going into work a joy. I thought, ‘I wanna do that again.'”
The ‘Hocus Pocus’ sequel comes almost three decades after the original but Doug was still starstruck by leading ladies Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy.
He explained: “When that call came, I was excited to get to do all of that again. I got to reunite with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, which was so dreamy.
“They were all huge, in my world. I was just like, ‘I can’t believe I’m on the same set with these people. Oh, my gosh!’
“Coming back, you never lose your starstruck-ness, really, or I don’t. I was still like, ‘Oh, my gosh, there they are again.'”

Edgar Wright added a song to Top Gun: Maverick

OHMYGOSSIP — Edgar Wright contributed to the ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ soundtrack.
The 48-year-old director told producer Christopher McQuarrie to use Foghat’s ‘Slow Ride’ for the action sequel’s bar scene after being shown the blockbuster prior to its release.
He said of the ‘Top Gun’ flick: “I first watched that in 2020. Chris McQuarrie and Tom Cruise showed it to me, and it was pretty much the film that got released, minus the Lady Gaga song.
“And in terms of the Foghat thing, they needed a song. My dream text to get was Chris McQuarrie saying, ‘Hey, we need a new song for the bar scene in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’. What can you think of that’s like…?’
“And it was like, ‘Oh, give me 45 minutes!’ I think I still have that playlist on Spotify; it was ‘Maverick Bar’. So that stuff is just fun to me.”
Edgar revealed that he enjoys hearing what other directors think of his films and recalled how got an invaluable tip from ‘Mad Max’ helmer George Miller during the making of his movie ‘Last Night in Soho’.
The ‘Shaun of the Dead’ director told The Hollywood Reporter: “You usually invite people that are going to tell you exactly what they think. That can sometimes be tougher to hear, but you want to hear it from people you really respect. And sometimes, people have really great solutions.”
Edgar continued: “On ‘Last Night in Soho’, I showed George Miller something, and he had such a tiny, tiny note that was so great. It was also great to say in a VFX session, ‘And one other thing, Dr. George Miller suggested that if we tighten up this gap, it would be more successful.’
“And nobody can say no to an action note from George Miller.”

Patsy Palmer set to star on Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Patsy Palmer is set to star on ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The 50-year-old former soap star has been announced as the first contestant for the upcoming series, and Patsy is already looking forward to the challenge.
The actress – who is best known for playing Bianca Jackson in ‘EastEnders’ – told ‘This Morning’: “Out of all the things that came through at that time, this was the one that I had to really think about. Obviously, I wanted to challenge myself, get back to work and get out of my comfort zone. And I just thought I’ll just go for it – it seems like a lot of fun.
“I do like ice skating, but I’m not an ice skater.”
Patsy has previously rejected the chance to compete on the show.
But this time, the actress decided to accept the challenge after making a “pact” with herself when she turned 50 in May.
She shared: “I’ve been absolutely terrified before. But I feel like the pact I made with myself when I was 50 was I have to do things that challenge myself over the next couple of years and get out of my comfort zone.
“I don’t want to get stuck in this thing of like, ‘Ahhh, I’m 50!’ It’s such a weird age, so this is for all the 50 year olds out there.”
Patsy has lived in Los Angeles for the last few years, and she’ll actually train for the show in California.
The actress said: “I’m am going to come back, but I’ll be training in Los Angeles. I feel really blessed about that. That was another reason why it worked out this time. You know, they said there’s a rink in Los Angeles, so I can train here – which is going to be fantastic.”

Fleur East reveals the reason behind her Strictly Come Dancing tears

OHMYGOSSIP — Fleur East was thinking of her late father before her latest performance on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 34-year-old pop star has explained why she started “blubbering” before she took to the dance floor alongside her professional partner, Vito Coppola.
Fleur – who also burst into tears after dancing the Viennese Waltz – shared: “All day I was trying to make sure I found the right emotion for this dance as I was really worried about going on there, being quite blank and empty and just doing the steps. I really wanted to commit to it.
“But just before we danced, I went to see my family who were sitting in the audience and my Uncle Sean lifted his arm to show me his wrist – and he was wearing my Dad’s bracelet. He didn’t even say anything to me, just showed it to me and that set me off.
“It was just seconds before I performed and with everything else and just being nervous, I started crying, blubbering!”
Fleur admits to being totally overwhelmed by the moment.
The singer – who starred on ‘The X Factor’ in 2014 – said on ‘The Hits Radio Breakfast Show’: “In rehearsals I have never acted that way before and as soon as I faced Vito in the dance for the first time he looked at me and his eyes were like ‘oh my gosh she’s crying’ and then immediately he got more into the emotion of it and we were both just really overwhelmed by the end of it.”
Kaye Adams became the first celebrity to leave ‘Strictly’ over the weekend.
But Fleur admits that the experience was “agonising”.
She said: “The wait to find out the results is agonising I had to sit around and pray. It was tricky to even go to the loo as my dress was stitched to my underwear!
“I’m going to miss Kaye, honestly, I was so sad on Sunday but she’s still in the WhatsApp group and will be in until the end!”

Leaving Coronation Street is a risk, says Nathan Graham

OHMYGOSSIP — Nathan Graham knows he’s taking “a risk” by leaving ‘Coronation Street’.
The 31-year-old actor – who plays James Bailey in the ITV soap – admits that quitting the show is a “scary” experience.
Speaking ahead of his last-ever appearance on ‘Coronation Street’, Nathan shared: “I am the sort of person who lives in the moment and goes with what feels right.
“When it came to my decision to leave I mean it was very difficult – it was a tough thing to decide, obviously for various reasons.
“Going from a place of security to not know what is next is scary and a risk. But then also it was just the right decision and it felt right.”
Nathan admitted that shooting his final scene was an emotional experience.
The actor also saw a parallel between his character and his real-life self.
He said: “It was emotional and I did fill up.
“I am so close to my on screen family so I know I will see them all again but that was my last time being part of the on screen Bailey family. There were a lot of similarities between James’ departure and my own, he is sad to be going but is excited about his future and so am I.”
Nathan is now looking to the future, and he’s planning to “roll with the punches” as he prepares for his next role.
The soap star explained: “I am just going to take things as they come and roll with the punches. You know, it sounds cliche, but I just feel at the end of the day if you put the hard work in it eventually pays off.
“I don’t expect anything from anyone I don’t expect to walk into a job. It can be a difficult process and I understand all that. I think it’s just knowing it’s a journey. It’s a process.”

Brooke Vincent wants a small, personal wedding

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooke Vincent wants a small, intimate wedding.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star – who played Sophie Webster on the long-running ITV soap between 2004 and 2019 – took to Instagram in April to reveal she and her long-time boyfriend, pro footballer Kean Bryan, got engaged after six years together.
And the ex-soap star – who has Mexx, two, and Monroe, 16 months, with her husband-to-be – has teased that she wants her wedding to be all about her family and nothing else.
She told OK!: “Having had so many big parties, I think I want a small wedding. I just worry so much in party situations that everyone else is having a good time. Our wedding day should just be about us and our boys and family. I just want to keep that feeling throughout. I want to get married for us, not for anyone else.”
Kean popped the question on their sixth anniversary on 17 April, hiring an igloo and a chef to serve Brooke’s favourite meal in their own garden, where he got down on one knee.
Brooke didn’t suspect a thing.
She recalled: “I wasn’t expecting it at all.
“I’ve always told him, ‘Don’t ever do it in front of people, not even at a restaurant!’ I think I would’ve been very aware of people around us instead of just enjoying a personal moment. So the best thing for me was that it was at our house. We’ve had our boys there, it’s our first house together, it’s been the scene for so many amazing milestones.
“So we were celebrating our six-year anniversary and when we came back home there was an igloo in the garden and it was all beautifully decorated. We had dinner, which was lasagne made by a hired chef. It was really luxurious. Then I went upstairs to fetch a phone charger and was faffing around changing my phone – he must have been sweating downstairs as I was taking ages – then when I came back into the igloo, he was down on one knee and I thought, ‘Oh my god!’.
“Then I got down on one knee too. I couldn’t believe what was happening. He was crying, I was crying. He told me the reasons he wanted to marry me. I’ve never felt so loved, I was overwhelmed.”

Keanu Reeves could direct Netflix’s BRZRKR adaptation

OHMYGOSSIP — Keanu Reeves is considering directing the movie adaptation of his comic book ‘BRZRKR’.
The 58-year-old actor – who wrote and creative the comic alongside Matt Kindt – has admitted he is thinking about helming Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of his story about an immortal warrior battling throughout history.
Reeves – who is set to star in the film – admitted to Collider that he hasn’t read Mattson Tomlin’s script yet and it’s still “early days” to consider a potential director before the script has been fully signed off.
However, he said there is a “33% chance” he will direct, as he added: “I know how it’s a lot of work, but the film that I directed, ‘Man of Tai Chi’, was born, I became the director because I was part of the writing process, and I didn’t want to hand it over.
“I was like, oh, okay. I have to direct this. I’m not quite there yet on ‘BRZRKR’.
“I have to read the script, but I’m also interested in having a collaborator and what they could bring to it.”
However, artist Ron Garney insisted he should follow Clint Eastwood’s lead by being at the helm of the project as well as playing the lead role.
He teased: “Get that percentage up, man. I mean, I think it’s all you. You should be doing it. Clint Eastwood does it. I mean, you can do it, I think you, it’s your thing.”
Netflix announced plans for the ‘BRZRKR’ live action adaptation last year, as well as a two season animated series.
In a press release, the streaming platform said: “‘BRZRKR’ is a brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior’s 80,000 year fight through the ages.
“The man known only as ‘B’ is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence… even at the sacrifice of his sanity.
“But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge – working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else.
“In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence… and how to end it.”

Elizabeth Olsen: It’s embarrassing shooting Marvel scenes pre-CGI

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Olsen says filming Marvel scenes before the special effects are applied is “silly” and “ridiculous”.
The 33-year-old actress portrays Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the MCU, and she admitted she would love for a version of ‘WandaVision’ without the CGI to be released so people can see just how bizarre it is.
She told Variety: “It’s just silly. There’s a lot of silly stuff. I always wish that one day they just release a version of the film without any special effects, because then you understand how ridiculous it feels.
“And how spectacular the work is that goes into making these.”
Elizabeth admitted it can be “very embarrassing” shooting scenes like her character’s love interest Vision (Paul Bettany) meeting his end in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
And Marvel stars have to “act” their “ass off” to pull it off.
She said: “It’s very embarrassing shooting those kinds of things, because, like, the world depends on you doing it.
“It was one of the last things we shot. I felt really comfortable with him as an actor if we had to improvise that beat a little bit. We were trying to find it, with [directors] the Russos guiding us. And I just remember being giggly the rest of the day, while [Thanos actor Josh] Brolin had his helmet on. And I don’t know. These movies are very silly, but you have to act your ass off for them to work.”

James Buckley might need therapy over ‘disgusting’ Inbetweeners jokes

OHMYGOSSIP — James Buckley thinks he needs therapy because of his “disgusting” lines in ‘The Inbetweeners’.
The 35-year-old actor has opened up on his “outrageous” scenes as foul-mouthed Jay Cartwright, who delighted sitcom fans at the time with his over the top stories and wild antics.
However, father-of-two James told the Daily Star newspaper: “The stuff I was saying and the way I was behaving, if I had thought about it for a second, I maybe wouldn’t have been able to have performed it with the confidence and oomph it needed to sell it.
“I don’t really think about ‘The Inbetweeners’ that much and I didn’t when I was doing it, and I still don’t now.
“You know, in 20 years time or something, I might need to go and have some therapy sessions to talk about it, because it has been all suppressed, it really has.”
James – who starred alongside Simon Bird, Joe Thomas and Blake Harrison on the show – admitted he still feels bad about one particularly X-rated scene in which he buys an ice cream from an old lady on a seaside school trip, and delivers a lot of sexual innuendos.
He added: “The reality is that’s funny on television, really funny, like, ‘Oh God, what an outrageous thing to happen’.
“The reality was I was stood here and there was an old lady in front of me and I was saying these disgusting things to her.”
Previously, James insisted “there’s not enough money in the world” for him to return to the E4 comedy, which ran for three seasons and spawned two movies.
He said: “I love the boys, I love the writers. Doing ‘The Inbetweeners’ was the best job in the world.
“All we did was muck around all day long and they filmed us doing it, and, at the end of the day, we might have had an episode … or a film or something.
“But it might – you know, as I’m getting older – it’s looking like it might be the only thing that I do professionally that is universally loved.
“There’s not enough money in the world for me to spoil that.”

Ekin Su Culculoglu announced for Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Ekin-Su Culculoglu has been confirmed for ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The ‘Love Island’ star – who won this year’s series alongside her partner Davide Sanclimenti – is the third contestant announced to be part of the ITV celebrity figure competition when it returns in January 2023.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Wednesday (05.10.22), she said in a pre-recorded video: “I’ve got some amazing news to tell you – I will be doing [next] year’s ‘Dancing on Ice’.
“I’m so excited for the team. I can’t wait to get myself on the ice and skate. Stay tuned, and see you on the ice!”
The announcement comes after her man Davide revealed he actually turned down an offer to appear on the show.
He explained: “They wanted me to do Dancing on Ice this year but I refused this time around.
“I have so much going on and I can’t commit to something every day and when I do something I want to do it properly.
“Right now I just can’t focus on something like that, for the moment anyway, but in the future maybe I will.”
Ekin-Su will appear on the show alongside a host of stars, including already-announced contestants Patsy Palmer and former footballer John Fashanu.
The retired sportsman said this week: “I don’t think it’ll come as a surprise to people that I’m very competitive – I am definitely in it to win it.
“And this may be one of the scariest things I’ve ever signed up for but I couldn’t be more ready for the challenge.”
Meanwhile, DJ and former ‘EastEnders’ actress Patsy commented: “I wanted to challenge myself and get back to work, get out of my comfort zone.
“And I just thought ‘I’ll just go for it’, it seems like a lot of fun.”

Babatunde Aleshe ‘signs up for I’m A Celebrity’

OHMYGOSSIP — Babatunde Aleshe has reportedly signed on for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’
The ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ star – who appears on the Channel 4 show alongside ‘Masked Singer’ judge Mo Gilligan – is said to be heading into the jungle as ITV’s star-studded reality show returns to Australia after two years away due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “Bosses are really excited to have Babatunde in the mix.
“He’s become a firm favourite with ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ viewers and producers reckon he’ll be a great campmate. He’s been doing stand-up for years but it’s his banter and constant one-liners with best mate Mo on Celebrity Gogglebox that really impressed the casting team.
“It’s a great opportunity for him to head to the jungle.”
Babatunde – who has television credits including ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Waking the Dead’, and ‘EastEnders’ – will venture Down Under after the Ant and Dec-fronted reality show was forced to become a domestic production at North Wales’ Gwrych Castle due to travel restrictions brought in following the on-set of the coronavirus pandemic.
In May the pair, both 46, insisted the show had “to go back” to Oz after “two lovely” series in 2020 and 2021 – which were won by Giovanna Fletcher and Danny Miller respectively – once the travel uncertainty was lifted.
Dec Donnelly – who has presented the show with Ant McPartlin since its conception in 2002 – said: “If they let us in the country, we’ll be back in.
“We had two lovely years in Wales, we really enjoyed our time in Wales, but this show has to be in Australia, we have to go back.”
Late last month, while filming in South Africa, the National Television Award winners also shared a social media sneak peek of the all-star spin-off – which is due to air in 2023 – featuring fan favourites from the show’s two decade run.
In the video, Dec said: “We’ve got news, it’s probably the worst kept secret in television, but we can confirm we’re doing a very special series of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in South Africa.
“It’s gonna be your favourite celebrities from the past 20 years who are going back in to do it one more time.”

Kate Garraway is related to Paddington Bear creator Michael Bond

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Garraway is related to the creator of ‘Paddington Bear’.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter was stunned when she discovered an unexpected family connection after being introduced to late author Michael Bond’s daughter Karen Jankel, with whom the 55-year-old TV presenter shares a great-great-great-grandparent.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘DNA Journey’, Kate met Karen at London’s Paddington train station, where the beloved children’s book character arrived in London from the deepest, darkest jungles of Peru.
Describing the bear as her “famous brother”, Michael’s daughter told Kate: “Paddington and I grew up together.
“The reason is that my father was Michael Bond, the creator of Paddington, which means that of course you are also related to Michael Bond.”
She added: “He was always part of my family. He is so real to our family, and now to your family too, because he is a member of the family.
“He used to sit on the table at meal times and my father used to talk to him and talk through him to us. Of course, I never knew anything else because he was always around.”
Karen also showed Kate a first edition copy of ‘A Bear Called Paddington’ – which marked the character’s first appearance in print in 1958 – signed by her father a year after its release.
Kate revealed: “It was always my absolute favourite growing up.
“It has been said to me over the years that I do have a touch of Paddington Bear about me and that is because without meaning to, he does cause an extraordinary amount of chaos.”
She also joked that she would regularly tuck into Paddington’s favourite marmalade sandwiches at university.
Bond – who died in 2017 aged 91 – published over 20 books featuring the iconic character, and they have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
‘DNA Journey’ airs on Thursday at 9pm on ITV.

Great British Bake Off airs double elimination as duo reveal their heartfelt letters

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Great British Bake Off’ had a double elimination this week as Rebs and James left the show.
After Mexican Week, judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith decided to cut the pair following a twist last week when no one was up for eviction after Rebs and Abdul missed Bread Week due to illness.
However, on Tuesday night (04.10.22) the decision was made, and Prue explained: “Poor Rebs, but her flavours were just too strong, and too many of them.
“I am always sad to see bakers go, but particularly James. He had a rotten week and his Showstopper was a real disappointment.”
Her co-star Paul added: “It’s hard in this tent, and next week we are halfway through.”
The duo have both penned heartwarming letters reflecting on their experiences in the tent on the Channel 4 show.
James wrote: “I have never had such an amazing bunch of people around me; both the bakers and the Bake Off team.
“No one has motivated me to improve and develop, cannot wait to see how the future goes.
“Big love, good vibes, stay spooky!”
Meanwhile, Rebs compared her ‘Bake Off’ journey to riding “on a magic carpet”.
She said: “Oh my days! Was I really on Bake Off?!
“I grew up watching fabulous women in my family baking and, after only turning to baking, really, during lockdown, I never dreamed I’d be on my favourite show!
“Being on Bake Off is like taking a ride on a magic carpet… I’d do it all again if I could!”
Like James, she also praised the crew and their fellow contestants.
She continued: “I’m so grateful for this year’s bakers who have become another family to me, I learn from their epic talent every day.
“Also a shoutout to everyone behind the scenes who made it all possible.”

Eva Longoria to star in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day adaptation

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria will star in a new adaptation of ‘Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day’.
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress has been cast with George Lopez in the Latino-centric take on the best-selling children’s book by Judith Viorst.
Marvin Lemus is to direct the feature that is set to be released on Disney+ and is being produced by Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps and The Jim Henson Company.
The new film follows a Mexican American family who have recently lost their connection to each other and their roots as they set off on an epic road trip that goes hilariously wrong.
Eva will play a travel writer who has lost the passion for her job while Lopez has been cast as the family’s grandfather, a tough biker.
Matt Lopez has written the script for the movie which will begin production in New Mexico in the spring.
Eva is best known for her role as Gabrielle Solis on ‘Desperate Housewives’ and described her experience on the hit TV show as her “film school”.
The 47-year-old star said: “I absorbed and learnt everything from every director and producer. I was just a sponge.
“People think I’m an actor turned director, but I think I was always a producer-director. I was always more interested in what was happening behind the scenes and in having total control of the final product. I just thought how powerless we are as actors on set.”
Longoria made her directorial debut on the film ‘Flamin’ Hot’ and feels at home behind the camera as she is “bossy by nature”.
She said: “I’m bossy by nature. I love telling people what to do and I’m really good at it.”

Norman Reedus joins The Bikeriders cast

OHMYGOSSIP — Norman Reedus has become the latest star to join the cast of ‘The Bikeriders’.
The ‘Walking Dead’ actor has joined a starry ensemble that features Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer and Austin Butler.
Jeff Nichols will direct the film, a fictional story inspired by the photography of Danny Lyon and his 1967 book ‘The Bikeriders’.
The movie is an original story set in the 1960s following the rise of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club. Seen through the lives of the members, the club evolves over the course of the decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang.
The motorbike theme is fitting for Norman as his ‘The Walking Dead’ character Daryl Dixon was known for riding a motorcycle across the show’s 11 seasons.
The 53-year-old star also features in the travel series ‘Ride with Norman Reedus’ in which he hits the open road to explore biker culture.
‘The Bikeriders’ will be produced by Sarah Green and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones for Tri-State – the company they share with Nichols. Fred Berger is an executive producer.
‘The Walking Dead’ is set to transfer to the big screen with Andrew Lincoln reprising the role of Rick Grimes but Norman admits that it is “up in the air” as to whether he will return as Daryl.
He said: “I don’t think anybody knows what’s going on with the movies now. I hear different answers from different groups.
“So I think it’s kind of still up in the air what the movie thing is going to be. I think it’s … changed perspective a couple of times. I don’t know anything about it. I’m just going to leave it at that.”

Jake Quickenden wants to be the first person to win Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Quickenden wants to make history as the first person to win both ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The ‘Love Don’t Feel The Same’ hitmaker has revealed his dream to capture the Glitterball trophy on the BBC One Latin and ballroom competition – which is currently in its 20th season featuring the likes of Bros singer Matt Goss and ‘EastEnders’ star James Bye – after he already nabbed the top spot on ITV’s figure skating competition in 2018.
Ranking some of his reality TV experiences, the 34-year-old singer told the Metro newspaper’s Sixty Seconds column: “They’re all so different. I’d say ‘Dancing On Ice’ on because I won it. But I love ‘[Celebrity] SAS: Who Dares Wins’ even though I ruptured my pec and my bicep and have four pins in my shoulder.
“The next one I want to do is ‘Strictly’ because I’d love to be the first person to win ‘Strictly’ and ‘Dancing On Ice’.
Jake – who recently tied the knot to his longtime love Sophie Church with whom he has son Leo, two, and step-son Freddie – is “thankful” for the opportunities given to him from appearing on ‘The X Factor’ in 2012 and 2014.
He said: “I did ‘The X Factor’ nearly 10 years ago and every day I’m thankful about how everything’s turned out. It might end tomorrow, and you never know, so that’s why I take the opportunities I get given and just ride them.”
The ‘I Am A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! alum is still in contact with some of his ‘X Factor’ pals but values his childhood mates who stood by him before he hit the big time.
He explained: “I speak to Rylan every now and then. Ben Haenow, who won in 2014, has been a great mate, and Lucy Spraggan. We’ve got this shared experience so we’ll always be close in that way. But most of my mates are from growing up – my three best men were mates I’ve been friends with since I was playing football aged five.
“My friends I’ve grown up with are the ones that were there when I was on the dole and didn’t have a penny for petrol. These are the guys that were there when my dad and brother passed away, and they’re the people I’d call on if I needed help if I was ever in a bad way.”
