Joel Corry wants to do I’m a Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — Joel Corry wants to take part in ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’
The 33-year-old DJ would rise to the challenge of going Down Under for the jungle-based survival show and would be “well up” for sleeping in a hammock in the Australian Outback.
He said: “I think that if I went into the jungle, I would try anything. I’d give it all a go because I love a challenge. I would be well up for sleeping in hammock, too! Recently I went from Tomorrowland festival in Belgium through to Canada so we had to drive to Gatwick airport. We missed our train in the tunnel so I slept on the floor in the car so a hammock would actually be lovely! I’m up for getting in the trenches!”
However, the ‘History’ hitmaker went on to explain that unlike the usual fears of insects and rats usually exhibited by famous faces on the show, his main fear is of dusty curtains.
He told The Daily Star’s Wired column: ” I have a phobia of curtains, they give me the shivers. I don’t know why, I just don’t like the feel of them, I just don’t like them. And big curtains – they are just full of dust and God knows what. I don’t like curtains! I don’t even have them in my house – that’s for sure! I am shivering right now just thinking about them!”
Ant and Dec are set to return to screens with ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ later this year and the Geordie duo will be presenting from Australia for the first time since 2019, after it was forced to move to Wales due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Katie Piper’s acid attacker goes on the run

OHMYGOSSIP — Police are hunting for the man who threw acid over Katie Piper.
The 38-year-old TV star was left with life-changing injuries in March 2008 when Stefan Sylvestre doused her in acid in an attack orchestrated by her ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch and now police are “urgently” appealing for his whereabouts after he escaped from prison.
A Probation Service spokeswoman said on Sunday: “We are urgently working with the police to bring the offender back to prison where he’ll face longer behind bars.”
Stefan had initially received a life sentence in 2009 for the attack but was released in 2018 before being returned to prison for breaching the conditions of his licence.
At the time of his release, ‘Loose Women’ panellist Katie – who is now married to Richard Sutton and has daughters Belle, eight, and Penelope, four, with him – explained that it had been a “really difficult” time for her but was finding comfort in taking part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ that year.
She said: “This is a really difficult time for me. I am trying to come to terms with the decision and this is something I need to deal with. Over the past two weeks ‘Strictly’ has already given me such a welcome and positive distraction from my past. Whilst there is never a good time to hear this news, I am glad I have this new journey to concentrate on.”
Meanwhile, Katie’s ex-boyfriend – who paid the then-19-year-old Sylvestre to throw the corrosive liquid at the former model – is currently serving a minimum term of 16 years and will not be eligible for parole until 2025.

Liberty Poole gets anxiety after being held at knife point

OHMYGOSSIP — Liberty Poole gets “anxious on nights out” after being held at knife point.
The ex ‘Love Island’ star still endures flashbacks of the terrifying moment she and Kaz Kamwi were threatened by thugs with blades while out and about in Los Angeles.
The 23-year-old model told OK! magazine: “I do get a lot more anxious on nights out. It’s really sad. When it happened, it was completely unexpected, so if I’m out and I see someone acting suspiciously, the memories come flooding back. I go into flight mode and remove myself quickly. Saying that, it hasn’t affected the way I live my life. I never miss out on anything out of fear, but it’s made me more aware of my surroundings.”
Liberty and Kaz have tried to shift the “horrific experience” into a “positive” by letting it teach them about you only get one life.
She said: “Me and Kaz have tried to turn the negative into a positive, because what happened made us realise that life is way too short. Before, I used to really care what people thought about me, but now I put myself first, because it’s my life. I’ve got to live it and do what I want to do, when I want to do it. It was a horrific experience, but a bit of a blessing in disguise.”
The ex ‘Dancing On Ice’ contestant still stands by her decision to leave the ITV2 dating competition back in 2021 after she and her boyfriend Jake Cornish called it quits.
Liberty said: “I wasn’t going to fake anything for the sake of TV. It wasn’t right for me and Jake to stay in the villa.”
Liberty suggested that she might like to try out another dating reality show, such as E4’s ‘Celebs Go Dating’ after being asked if she would consider having another go on a dating programme.
She said: “Maybe ‘Celebs Go Dating’? I just feel so rusty when it comes to dating now – I’ve hardly had any practice! So I’d need some reminders before I went on a show like that.”

Red Notice sequels may be filmed back-to-back

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Red Notice’ sequels could be filmed back-to-back.
Netflix are making two follow-ups to the hit action comedy film that starred Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot and producer Beau Flynn has revealed that development is heating up on the projects.
Beau, who has worked with ‘The Rock’ on several blockbusters, told Collider: “Well, we have a ‘Red Notice 2’ script and almost (‘Red Notice’) 3. The plan is hopefully if Hiram (Garcia) and I have our way we would make those movies back-to-back.
“But it’s going to be all about scripts and how we feel and how Dwayne, Gal, and Ryan feel about them. But that franchise is a blast and obviously Netflix really wants it, and Rawson (Marshall Thurber, director) is committed.”
Beau confirmed that Rawson is prepared to make the sequels and is working on new scripts.
The 52-year-old producer said: “Rawson is working away and we were just talking to him about it the other day. He’s deep in it and that’s his baby. So, he’s grinded away.
“We’re excited to be able to get into it and see a new draft that he’s about to deliver to us very soon.”
‘Red Notice’ was released on Netflix last year and proved to be phenomenally successful, becoming the most-watched movie within 28 days of launching on the streamer.
Dwayne, 50, has heaped praise on Netflix and described them as the ideal collaborators for the blockbuster.
The former WWE star said: “With ‘Red Notice,’ our goal at Seven Bucks Productions was to break down traditional barriers and create a true global event for the audience. Netflix has illustrated that they are the perfect partners to accomplish this goal.”

Claire King says Emmerdale bosses ‘don’t realise’ she’s a pensioner

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire King says ‘Emmerdale’ bosses “don’t realise” she’s an OAP.
The 60-year-old actress quipped writers on the ITV soap – which she has been involved with on and off since 1989 – haven’t clocked she’s no longer a twenty-something and have upped the amount of horseback tricks her character Kim Tate does as the soap saddles up to mark 50 years with a special episode on Sunday (16.10.2022)
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “They’re getting me to do more stunts than when I was 25 – they don’t realise I’m a pensioner.
“They’re killing me off slowly… not Kim Tate but me, Claire. I’m on a horse. I’m rolling around in the mud…”
Claire – who is an amateur jockey – was very “honoured” to be such an important part in the soap’s milestone on Ice, a steed with a serious Hollywood pedigree, including roles in ‘War Horse’ and ‘Robin Hood’.
She said: “It’s good to be at the heart of it all. I’m very honoured.
“Ice has been there, done that. He’s done so many films, much more than I have. I’m used to riding thoroughbreds who are just bonkers.” hey’re like spaniels, but Ice is like a Labrador. It’s nice to get on an animal that is so trustworthy and you feel comfortable with straight away.”
The ex ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star warned to “mess around” with horses as she reminisced about filming some of the horseback scenes with Frazer Hines – who played Joe Sugden between 1972 and 1994 – as they “have a mind of their own”.
Claire said: “I wouldn’t have attempted it if I hadn’t ridden horses before. Horses have a mind of their own, so it’s one thing you don’t mess around with.”
“Frazer and I had a lot of hunting scenes on horseback where we jumped five foot hedges and realised we were flying over there were 6ft drops on the other side.
“But because I did it, Frazer had to do it too because it was competition time. We were both amateur jockeys and both rode in races so we know our horses, but it was the first time we’d got on them to film.
“In those days, you didn’t have stunt people to get up and do it for you. You just had to get up and do it.”

Patty Jenkins has completed Wonder Woman 3 script

OHMYGOSSIP — Patty Jenkins has finished the script for ‘Wonder Woman 3’.
The 51-year-old director has helmed both DC Extended Universe (DCEU) films featuring Gal Gadot’s superhero and hinted that she is thinking of the future after penning the third movie.
Speaking at the Matera Film Festival in Italy, Patty said: “I just wrote last week the final scene of ‘Wonder Woman 3’ and I thought, I might be interested to see what happens next. So you’ll never know.
“They have asked us to think of ways to do more and it accidentally happens. But you’ll never know. I have a lot of other films that I’m excited to do as well. And I love Gal Gadot so that makes it better too.”
Patty revealed that she had only been planning to make a trilogy of ‘Wonder Woman’ films.
The director explained: “And so, where I said that I was only going to do one, then oh my god, I have to do two. And then, I find myself saying, ‘Oh my God, I’m antsy to do three.’
“And so, even now, I say, ‘That’s it’ because I always plan a three-movie arc. There is a story that goes through three different movies as a whole.”
Patty had previously indicated that she would not be directing the third movie as the COVID-19 pandemic had caused so much uncertainty in the film industry.
She said: “I don’t think I’m doing it next and so I have to sort of wait and see where we are in the world, you know? What I wanted to talk about in [‘WW84’] was very prescient to what I was feeling and what you were sort of feeling was coming. So now I’m not sure. So much has changed in the world.”

Seann Walsh ‘signs up to new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Seann Walsh has reportedly signed up for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
It’s said ITV bosses hope the 36-year-old comic will boost ratings by telling of his romance with his professional dance partner Katya Jones, 33, during the 2018 series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Images of the pair kissing led to the end of the dancer’s six-year marriage to fellow Strictly pro Neil Jones, 40, and ended Seann’s five-year relationship with 35-year-old actress Rebecca Humphries.
A source told The Sun on Thursday night (06.10.22): “Seann is an incredible signing for ‘I’m A Celebrity’ and it’s a real coup for ITV.
“His snog with Katya is the biggest scandal to have ever hit Strictly. People still talk about it.
“Seann has joked about his snog with Katya in his comedy sketches but he’s never spoken in detail about their relationship.
“Life in the jungle is boring and those long hours around the campfire would be the perfect time for Seann to get talking.
“He can’t shy away from it either as he’s best known for that snog.
“It’s unlikely his campmates won’t bring it up. It won’t be an easy watch for Katya or the people burnt by their romance.”
Seann has never publicly detailed his romance, which emerged in October 2018 after the comic and dancer had drinks at a pub during filming of the show.
An ITV spokesperson said: “We’ll announce our line-up nearer transmission.”
But it’s said Seann is set to join singer Boy George, comic Babatunde Aleshe and Love Island’s Olivia Attwood in the upcoming series.
The comic last year said his kiss with Katya “destroyed” and his ex Rebecca accused him of “gaslighting”.

Bonnie Langford returning to Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Bonnie Langford is returning to ‘Doctor Who’.
The 58-year-old actress is set to reprise her role as companion Mel Bush – who she played from 1986 to 1987 opposite Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy – for a cameo opposite incoming Time Lord Ncuti Gatwa, in 2024 the Daily Mirror newspaper reports.
Bonnie has played the role on TV again just once, in 1993’s ‘Dimensions in Time’, a special Children in Need episode which had a crossover with ‘EastEnders’, a show she went on to join for three years from 2015.
But the ‘Just William’ star has also played Mel in several of Big Finish’s ‘Doctor Who’ audio adventures, though she previously explained she had two requests before she committed to the stories.
She recently explained: “No screaming, and please can we build her character a bit? I was constantly seeking a more substantial role.
“Melanie just said, ‘But Doctor…’, and screamed.”
Bonnie previously admitted she was open to the idea of returning to ‘EastEnders’ as Carmel Kazemi.
She said in late 2020: “I don’t think Carmel’s dead so who knows? Never say never.
“I’m an actor, I’ve got to work. Kush needs his mother back!
“Carmel went to Dubai but she might have to come back and make sure he’s behaving himself.”
However, Carmel’s connection to Albert Square, son Kush – who was played by Davood Ghadami – was killed off the following April, so it seems that door may have closed now.
Bonnie – who shot to fame as a child on ‘Opportunity Knocks’ back in 1971 and has since sustained a lengthy career in television and musical theatre – previously admitted she would never have a facelift because she is “too frightened”.
She said: “I would never contemplate having any work done to improve my looks. I’m too frightened and scared to do anything like that. In any case, I like the experience of living – of laughter and tears – to show in my face. I’m blessed with a certain joie de vivre. Those lines on my face tell a story!”

The former ‘EastEnders’ actress has thanked her fans for their support after she revealed in August she had been diagnosed with the disease, and updated her supporters on where she is at in her journey.
Speaking in a video posted on her Instagram account, she said: “I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been sending me love after I shared my story about battling with breast cancer.
“So just to tell you where I’m at, I’ve had my operation. I had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal, and I am now going to start my first session of chemotherapy.”
The 49-year-old star – who played Ronnie Mitchell in ‘EastEnders’ from 2007 to 2017 – has been “blown away” by her fans’ stories and messages since her diagnosis.
She added: “I have read all of your stories and messages. They’ve blown me away, genuinely. And I just wanted to say thank you. I’m very humbled by the fact that everyone has reached out. So, I’ll keep you posted. Just a huge thank you and sending you all lots of love.”
The ‘Babes in the Wood’ actress – who is dating former ‘Coronation Street’ actor Oliver Farnworth, 39 – revealed in August she was recuperating after undergoing a breast cancer operation.
She wrote on Instagram: “Recuperating after breast cancer op. My love makes me turmeric and ginger in the morning and homemade butternut squash soup in the evening……. #feeling loved and grateful (sic)”
The star took to Twitter earlier that month to pay tribute to actress Olivia Newton-John – who fought breast cancer for 30 years – following her death days earlier aged 73, and during her heartfelt post Samantha revealed she was starting her own “battle with [the] disease”, and she was “deeply moved” following the ‘Grease’ star’s passing.
Sam shared a picture of herself, Olivia and Olivia’s daughter Chloe, 36, after they went to see the ‘Mount Pleasant’ actress when she was playing Sandy – Olivia’s character’ in the 1978 movie – in the West End.
She captioned the image: “This was the most magical of evenings. Olivia and Chloe had come to see Grease in London and we had dinner together afterwards. I was so excited and in awe, she was my childhood. I now start my own battle with this disease and am left feeling deeply moved. #OliviaNewtonJohn (sic)”

Margot Robbie sent David O Russell to sleep

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie sent David O. Russell to sleep while filming ‘Amsterdam’.
The 32-year-old actress portrays nurse Valerie Voze in the director’s new period mystery and she told how he asked her to read a lengthy passage of dialogue and to make her tone as “relaxed” as possible.
When Margot saw the filmmaker was nodding off, she asked if she needed to add “more energy” – but David insisted she was reading exactly how he wanted, and then fell asleep completely.
She recalled to BBC Radio 1: “One day he made me come in to read, like, 40 pages of dialogue.
“I start to read and he says, ‘No, no, no. More calm, more relaxed’.
“So I did it again and he was like, ‘No, no, no. I want you to read it like you just took three Xanax’. I thought to myself, ‘I’m putting him to sleep’.
“He was [drifting off] like this, so I stop and ask him if he wants me to put more energy into it.
“And he goes, ‘No! You’re doing it perfectly’.“So I did the whole thing until he was fully asleep and snoring.”
Margot previously revealed she forged a close bond with John David Washington working on the movie because they were “scared” about working under the unpredictable director, despite reassurance from co-star Christian Bale.
She said: “We immediately kind of clung to each other, like, ‘OK, are you scared? Because I’m scared. Ah! What do we do?
“Then, you dive in headfirst and you have the time of your life, and Christian (Bale’s) going like, ‘Don’t worry. It’s always like this. You never know what’s going to happen when you go to work that day’, and you really don’t, and that is thrilling.”
Margot explained that it was straightforward finding chemistry with her co-stars on the “exciting creative experience”.
She added: “Whenever you have a really fulfilling and interesting and exciting creative experience, you do come out bonded anyway, like anyone would.
“So, (the chemistry) wasn’t something we really needed to work at. It was pretty easy.”

Mila Kunis knew Jupiter Ascending would be flop ‘before production started’

OHMYGOSSIP — Mila Kunis knew ‘Jupiter Ascending’ would be a box office flop “before production started”.
The 39-year-old star played titular character Jupiter Jones in the 2015 sci-fi movie opposite Channing Tatum, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne and Douglas Booth, but she didn’t have high expectations for the film after the production budget got “slashed in half”.
Speaking on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, Kunis said: “When did we know [the movie would flop]? Before we started production, because our production got slashed in half.
“And so the original budget was twice as much, and you can do a lot more with a lot more money, and oftentimes those types of scripts have a very good storyline, but extraordinary other things.
“Right before pre-production, for a multitude of reasons with studios and other things, the budget got cut, and the movie was different.
“I wish that Channing was here because we have some good stories.”
Earlier this year, Tatum – who played Caine Wise, a genetically engineered soldier, half-human and half-canine, in the movie – admitted ‘Jupiter Ascending’ was a “nightmare from the jump”.
He said: “‘Jupiter Ascending’ was a nightmare from the jump.
“It was a sideways movie. All of us were there for seven months, busting our hump. It was just tough.”
Redmayne picked up the Worst Supporting Actor Award at the Golden Raspberry Awards, also known as the Razzies, for his role as Emperor Balem Abrasax in the film.
He appeared at the Oscars the following night after being nominated for Best Actor for his role in ‘The Danish Girl’.
Tatum and Kunis were both nominated for the Worst Supporting Actor and Actress accolades at the Razzies that year, while Jupiter Ascending’s The Wachowskis had nods in the Worst Director and Worst Screenplay categories, but they missed out on the prizes.

Kate Garraway: Derek remains very damaged amid health struggles

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Garraway says her husband Derek Draper remains “very damaged” amid his health struggles.
The 55-year-old TV presenter explained that her significant other – who has required round-the-clock care since he contracted coronavirus in March 2020 – got “very sick” early on in the pandemic but claimed he has “symbolised” the fight against COVID-19.
She said: “2020 was a devastating year. With Derek, he got very sick very early on in the pandemic and has remained very damaged. That is quite well documented because for a lot of people, he’s come to symbolise the fight that goes on.”
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ host – who has been married to former lobbyist Derek, 55, since 2005 and has children Dacey, 16, and Billy, 13 with him – went on to thank fellow ITV presenter Alison Hammond for keeping in touch and “thinking” of her throughout the ordeal.
Speaking on a new episode of ITV’s ‘DNA Journey’, she said: “Alison, she was messaging me to say she was thinking of me in that way.”
In August, it was revealed that Derek – thought to be the longest suffering patient with the virus in Britain – was back in hospital after being taken in for a “serious medical procedure”.
A source said at the time: “This is another hammer blow for poor Derek. He is giving the fight against covid his absolute all, but his kidneys have suffered some pretty serious damage. Doctors explained there was no alternative but to operate.
“Of course Kate and the family are worried but she’s been reassured the procedure itself is routine. Everyone has everything crossed, and Kate is being her usual stoical self and keeping everything running, business as usual, on the home front.”
Kate recently admitted she has wondered how much of her “fight” to keep her husband alive is “about herself”.
Speaking to Hollie Battersbee – who previously fought to keep her 12-year-old son Archie alive after a court appeal to keep his life support turned on was rejected, and he later died after it was switched off – Kate said: “I’ve got a couple of things to ask you that are a little bit based from my own experience, which I want to stress, particularly for Derek’s family who might be watching, is very different from yours.
“Mercifully I’ve not had to have the conversations with doctors about discussions of turning off the life support machines, and Derek’s brain stem has never been affected in the way that poor Archie’s had.
“But I have had to have conversations in my own head with myself sometimes when Derek was in a coma and in a state of minimum consciousness, about how much my frenzy to fight for him and to check every possible option was about me and my needs and how much was about him.”

Anna Richardson has first boyfriend since splitting from Sue Perkins

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Richardson has a new boyfriend.
The 52-year-old TV presenter – who split from long-term girlfriend and former ‘Great British Bake Off’ host Sue Perkins in 2021 after seven years of dating – explained the key to a successful relationship is all about “communication and rapport”.
She said: “It’s all about communication and rapport, and understanding the other person enough that [you know what] it is that they need for you. For example, this morning – I’m dating, I’ve got a boyfriend – and already my boyfriend has said to me ‘I haven’t spent enough time with you’, so his love language is time – he needs my time to feel loved.
“Whereas actually, I quite like to receive texts saying [something like] ‘I’m thinking about you and I love you’. So people need to be aware of how their partner does their love language.”
The ‘Naked Attraction’ host added that she was introduced to dating apps by friends and even though she eventually met her new beau through mutual friends, she still thinks the concept of apps such as Badoo is “brilliant”, despite research showing that 69 per cent of Brits had been deterred from using them.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I have been introduced to apps [while dating], but actually I ended up meeting somebody through friends of friends. Yeah, so again, I just got really, really lucky that someone was compatible in my friendship circle. So many girlfriends of mine have met through apps and I know they’re brilliant.
“Interestingly, Badoo have done some really fascinating research about what puts people off when it comes to dating but I’ll give you the three top tips first when it comes to how to get a date.
“Firstly, first impressions count. So you’re not gonna turn up a job interview in your job gear, [implying] that you’re squeezing them in before a work out, so first impressions still count. It’s quite an old fashioned concept but it still rings true. In their research – and I thought this was a joke when I first heard it – Badoo have found 69 per cent of daters are put off by lazy messaging! 69! So the key message, first impressions count so take the time and effort – don’t rush. Take care with who you’re communicating with”

Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams ‘scores second series’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams’ is set to get a second series.
The three-part BBC One documentary series – which followed the England cricketer taking the game to a team of state school kids living in his home city of Preston – has been renewed for another innings after audiences were bowled over by the first season.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “The first series went down a storm.
“It was a no-brainer to make another.
“Freddie is a real star and his relationship with the kids and how he inspired them through cricket was truly moving.
“Viewers will be desperate to know how the youngsters have fared.”
Freddie, 44, called coaching the lads – who went up against a team of private schoolboys, who play cricket as part of their lessons – “incredible” as he celebrated coming back for another season.
He said: “Working with the boys was one of the most incredible experiences of my life but the work is not finished yet. I’m really pleased we’ll be continuing the hard work.”
The ‘Top Gear’ presenter sought to whip up a squad “from scratch”, including the breakout star Adnan, who fled to the UK from Afghanistan in summer 2021 as a refugee following the Taliban’s takeover after US forces withdrew from the country after 20 years.
After the show, the 16-year-old lad – who during filming was living his foster parents Elaine and Barry – expressed his desire to “continue to work hard” at the game, admitting “you never know, I might just get somewhere”.
Elaine detailed Adnan’s travels from his homeland to Calais via “foot, boat, truck and cars”.
She said: “In Calais, he hid in an empty lorry and found his way to Preston.
“When he arrived here, he cut himself out of the lorry and handed himself in to the police.”
Adnan revealed Barry tried to use football to get to know him better, but the teen admitted his foster dad was “talking my language” when he produced a cricket bat.
