Richie Anderson ‘totally accepts’ Strictly Come Dancing result

OHMYGOSSIP — Richie Anderson “totally accepts the result” after he was eliminated from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The BBC Radio 2 reporter and his pro partner Giovanni Pernice scored 27 points out of 40 for their Samba last weekend, which included an eight out of 10 from head judge Shirley Ballas, but he ended up going home after a shock dance-off against former ‘X Factor’ star Fleur East.
Despite that, Richie just feels fortunate to have been a part of the competition.
Speaking on Rylan Clark on ‘Strictly – It Takes Two’, he said: “The only place I’ve ever danced before ‘Strictly’ was in a nightclub, and I felt like I was bringing that same vibe into ‘Strictly’.
“We worked on trying to make me a bit more gracious, and more Latin and more ballroom, but you know what, I totally accept the result, it is what it is.
“I feel so lucky that I got to do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, I’ve met some incredible people.
“You always know, going into the studio on a Saturday night, that it could be the last time. Every dance I have done, it might not have been technically perfect, but I have gone out there and given it some welly, and given it 110 per cent!
“And all you can do Rylan, is hope it’s enough, and as you can see from Saturday night and Sunday night, you can never be too sure. But I have just had the most amazing time!”
Giovanni is “proud” of his celebrity partner’s efforts during the series, and is hopeful the presenter might be able to return for this year’s Christmas special.
He added: “I am proud, you should have seen the effort he put in the room each day, he really wanted to get it right.
“I am so glad he got to do this experience, and maybe he can come back for the Christmas special?!”
‘Strictly – It Takes Two’ continues every weeknight at 6:30pm on BBC Two and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ airs on Saturday and Sunday nights on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Siva Kaneswaran signs up for Dancing on Ice in tribute to Tom Parker

OHMYGOSSIP — Siva Kaneswaran has signed up for ‘Dancing on Ice.’
The 33-year-old pop star is the final celebrity to be announced to be taking part in the upcoming ITV skating series – which is set to return to screens in early 2023 – but admitted he had had thoughts of backing out and was given words of encouragement by The Wanted bandmate Jay McGuinness, who competed on BBC rival ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2015.
He said: “I was talking to my manager this morning in the car and I was like ‘Can I change my mind?’ But overall, I’m really excited. I’m gonna go do some training and meet Torvill and Dean. But I’ve never skated before. I’ve skated a bit with the in-laws and the penguin. Basically, the penguin is the support thing for kids on the ice and I’ve used that. The Wanted aren’t really known for their dancing. Jay has given me some very valuable words of encouragement so he’s gonna be there. I’m just looking forward to meeting all the cast and all the crew. I think I’m going to do OK. I’m quite competitive but not to the point where it’s unhealthy, I want to focus on the joy of it, I want to learn how to skate, make the family proud, and just put on a show.”
The ‘Glad You Came’ hitmaker went on to pay tribute to his bandmate Tom Parker – who died earlier this year after battling a brain tumour – and explained his bandmate’s zest for life is part of his decision to take to the rink.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: “To be honest, I’m just living day by day. But mostly, I look back and smile. He taught me so much about life. He taught me to live life and not be afraid. That’s one of the reasons I’m doing the show. He was 33. I just chatted to [his widow] Kelsie yesterday. She’s doing well, just keeping her chin up and just taking it day by day.”
Siva is the last famous face to be confirmed for ‘Dancing on Ice’, and will join Liberty X star Michelle Heaton, TOWIE’ alum Joey Essex, ‘Drag Race’ contestant The Vivienne, former ‘EastEnders’ actress Patsy Palmer, football legend John Fashanu, ‘Love Island’ star Ekin-Su Culculoglu, ex-‘Hollyoaks’ star Carley Stenson, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson and ‘Coronation Street’ actress Mollie Gallagher.

Russell Howard: It’s a shame Mock the Week was cancelled

OHMYGOSSIP — Russell Howard says it is a “shame” that ‘Mock the Week’ has been cancelled.
The long-running BBC panel show is set to come to an end after 17 years and comedian Russell, 42, explained that it provided a breeding ground for new talent but assured up-and-coming stand-ups that his show ‘The Russell Howard Hour’ also does the same.
He said: “It’s a shame because it’s such a great place for comedic development, a gang show where you could dip your toe in the fierce waters of TV comedy like I did. There are still spaces out there, like my show, where people who are great live can develop on TV.”
The Sky One star went on to explain that several fellow funnymen had their start on his show which was formerly titled ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ and predicted that the BBC will announce a new version of ‘Mock the Week’ in the next year.
He told Metro newspaper’s SixtySeconds column: “We had Romesh Ranganathan, Ed Gamble, and James Acaster giving their first performances on my show ‘Good News’. You need that space for up-and-coming comics but I imagine they will announce a new one in six months.”
In August the BBC explained that while it was “proud” of the panel show – which offers a satirical look at current events – it will end after its 21st series in order to make room for new shows.
In a statement, the BBC said: “We are really proud of the show but after 21 series we have taken the difficult decision in order to create room for new shows.”

Chloe Grace Moretz has held Marvel talks

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Grace Moretz has held talks with Marvel studios.
The 25-year-old actress has revealed that she has had discussions about entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and expressed a desire to play a villain in a Marvel or DC blockbuster.
Asked if she had met with Marvel, Chloe told ComicBook.com: “Yeah, we’ve talked a little about it. I mean, I think for me, I would be really interested in playing a villain in Marvel or DC, and jumping into more of the darker side of the role.
“I love a superhero. I think that’d be really fun, too, but I think it’s just all about finding the one that really matches what you’re wanting to get across, and the scope of the character. I think it’d be really fun if it was the right role and the right project.”
Chloe’s breakthrough role was that of Hit-Girl in the ‘Kick-Ass’ movies and she hinted last year that she would be willing to star in a third film if co-stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chris Mintz-Plasse returned with her as Kick-Ass and Red Mist respectively.
The ‘Addams Family’ star said: “I think I would love to do a ‘Kick-Ass 3’.
“I think it would be really fun to see where Hit-Girl goes and what she’s like as an adult. But I think it would have to be kind of perfect.
“It would need to be, across the board, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chris Mintz-Plasse, the whole crew back together.”
Chloe previously revealed that she was desperate to be cast as Hit-Girl because the script for ‘Kick-Ass’ reminded her of Angelina Jolie’s action movie ‘Wanted’.
She said: “I actually looked at my brother and my mother and said, ‘I would totally kill to have a role like that’. They were like, ‘This doesn’t happen for 11-year-olds. You don’t get the option to play an Angelina Jolie-type character.’ One week later is when we got the audition for ‘Kick-Ass’.”

The ex ‘Big Brother’ presenter called on her celebrity hairdresser boyfriend Michael Douglas to share some tips for perimenopausal hair care in a chapter of new book, ‘Menopausing’ as she believes men should be involved in that particular time in women’s lives.
Speaking at the Cheltenham Literary Festival, the 54-year-old TV star said:“Men must be included in the conversation. It’s not a woman’s problem. It’s societal.”
Davina believes older women are “more outrageous” because they have closed their child-rearing chapter.
She said: “It’s something to do with knowing you’re not going to have more kids… there’s a freedom in your 50s to be a bit more outrageous.”
Recently, ‘The Masked Singer’ judge shared when she first started going through perimenopause she “didn’t want to” open up about it.
Davina said: “When I became perimenopausal at work I didn’t want to talk to anyone about it … I was doing a live TV show called ‘Stepping Out’ and I was forgetting the names of contestants and making mistakes on the autocue, which I’d never done before.
“One day, the producer came into my dressing room and said, ‘Are you okay? You don’t seem yourself’ and I said ‘Oh, I’m fine.’ Then, when she left, I just cried. I thought ‘What’s happening to me?'”
The former MTV presenter also revealed she does see ending her marriage to her ex, Matthew Robinson – with whom she has daughters Holly, 21, and Tilly, 19, and 16-year-old son Chester – as a “failure”.
Davina said: “That there’s no such thing as failure if you learn something along the way.
“With Matthew and me, I don’t see our relationship as a failure.
“We were married for 18 years – that was a successful marriage. We didn’t go the distance, but we did well, and we made three great kids.”

The ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ star says his “entire outlook” on what is good time has changed since he got into rural pursuits and started to find the joy in little things.
The 62-year-old broadcaster wrote in the Sunday Times: “Since I started farming three years ago, my entire outlook on life has changed.
“I prefer to wake up at dawn rather than go to bed.
“And instead of wanting to see big things like the Hoover Dam, I now get excited by the turning of the leaves and the smell of wood smoke and a flock of yellowhammers.”
Jeremy attributes becoming “more patient and calm” and less of a hot head due to getting older but also due to accepting he can do nothing about world events, like the war in Ukraine.
He said: “Age is partly responsible, of course but by learning there’s nothing I can do about the weather or how grain prices are affected by events on the other side of the continent, I’ve become more patient and calm.”
The ex ‘Top Gear’ host admitted to becoming “mildly aroused” by new gardening tools, a hobby he’s picked up as he decided he has too much time on his hands.
Jeremy said: “When you are old, you no longer need to make the best use of your time. You need to waste it.
“You need to fill the hours and that’s why gardening now holds some appeal. I bought some secateurs the other day and find them mildly arousing… I also enjoy using my new wheelbarrow.”
James May – who stars alongside Jeremy on Amazon Prime Video’s ‘The Grand Tour’ – thinks Jez is “putting it on” when it comes to his new countryside persona and that he finds the show “infuriatingly inept at times”.
The 59-year-old television personality said: “I don’t know how much of the practical stuff he’s really doing.”

She said: “I had my first sex scene when I was 16. It was on a sofa with my teacher. I wasn’t very experienced in that department, but I didn’t think much of it at the time.”
The former soap star went on to add that when she was started filming scenes for the ITV show – which is set to celebrate its 50th anniversary later this month – it was different to nowadays and was more thrilled at the idea of being in a big storyline that saw her embark on an affair with teacher Tom Bainbridge, played by Jeremy Turner-Welch.
She told The Sun newspaper: “It’s not like it is nowadays, with intimacy coordinators. But you knew when you were doing a kissing scene there were would be no tongues. It wasn’t like a proper kiss. “I remember thinking, ‘This is such a big storyline’, and then that was it, something was unleashed in Kelly — she got her taste for the men in the village.”
Meanwhile, Adele went on to add that she was glad to have been on screen in a time without scoial media and joked that she would only face backlash from “old ladies in supermarkets” over her promiscuous character.
She said: “I’m quite relieved in a way because I would have been the prime fodder for trolling and abuse. Everyone thought I was like Kelly in real life. I’d get the odd comment from girls on a night out, but luckily it wasn’t anything major. I’d get it more from the older ladies when I was out shopping. They’d be like, ‘You are a naughty girl’ and start telling me off. But they weren’t talking to me as Adele, they are talking to me as Kelly!”

Kate Garraway says her husband Derek Draper’s post-COVID-19 battle has made her ‘depressed’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Garraway says her husband Derek Draper’s post-COVID-19 battle has made her “depressed”.

“And I’ve been all of those and more in recent weeks and months and more.”
Kate explained that it was hard because she couldn’t visualise “an endpoint” to what was happening to Derek, who she wanted to get better.
She said: “Because that’s the thing with caring, you want it to carry on because you want the person to be surviving and still with you, so that you CAN care for them, but there isn’t an endpoint and it doesn’t get any easier.”
Derek – whose struggles have been shared in documentaries like ‘Finding Derek’, which won a National Television Award – ended up back in hospital last month, something that was a labelled a “hammer blow” to the television executive-turned therapist.

Corrie star Chris Fountain suffers a mystery stroke aged 35

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Fountain suffered a mystery stroke at the age of 35.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star explained that he was suddenly unable to speak and ended up in hospital where he underwent an MRI scan that determined he had endured a transient ischaemic attack.
He said: “I woke up in the morning to a phone call from my mum. It was really weird, I picked up the phone and we were talking for a while and I was aware that I was trying to say something but my words weren’t coming out. I was like ‘I’ll call you back’ and thought I was just tired. So I got up and was wandering round the house and I couldn’t put my finger on it but I knew something wasn’t quite right. So I was trying to identify things in the house – there was a towel over the top of the door and I was looking at it. But my inside voice was perfect and in my head I’m looking at it thinking ‘towel’, but I couldn’t say it. It was like my brain and my mouth weren’t on the same page.”
The ex ‘Dancing on Ice’ contestant went on to explain that he called 111 but struggled to recite his address on the phone and felt “embarrassed” and “stupid” when he ended up in hospital trying to describe his problems to a nurse.
“I picked up a book and tried to read the back of it and I just couldn’t read it aloud. My mum said to call 111 and I couldn’t give them my address. Physically, I felt fine but when I got to the hospital I sat with a nurse and it just became very very difficult to speak. I felt embarrassed and really stupid because I couldn’t articulate myself. So they kept me in hospital and I had a CT scan which came back clear but they kept me overnight so I could have an MRI scan. After a while, the doctor came back and I remember it vividly because he said the word stroke’. It was a mini-stroke but as soon as he said that, all the stuff he said after, I just didn’t take in. I keep myself fit, last year I went on a health kick and lost weight and I train all the time.”
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor added that no-one could give him a reason for the mini-stroke but explained that things could have been much worse had he not taken action in the first place.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he added: “At the time, no one could give me a definitive answer. They tested for everything and they took loads of blood. I was in the hospital til Sunday and when they let me out I had a new perspective on everything. If I hadn’t gone to hospital when I did – I had planned to go for a coffee and then go to the gym – if I had have done that, it could have clotted to a different part of my brain. So basically, I’ve found out since going back to hospital that I have a hole in my heart. The clot got through the hole and went to my brain and went to the left side, which is my speech and memory. As traumatising as it has been, it could have been so much worse. I could have lost the use of my arm or my face could have drooped”

We’ve not planned anything other than we know we want it really small and really intimate. We’ve agreed on just close family, a handful of friends, and a big party a week or so after. It’s just finding the time really. We’ve had lots of people saying, ‘You clearly don’t want to get married if you haven’t done it yet!’ But I think it’s because we’re so happy with how it is.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Aubrey Plaza freaked out Robert De Niro when the pair starred in ‘Dirty Grandpa’.
The 38-year-old actress played Lenore in the 2016 comedy film and revealed that she stayed truly committed to her character, who wanted to make love with De Niro’s alter ego Dick.
Speaking at the London Film Festival, Aubrey said of the legendary actor: “I didn’t really have a relationship with him off camera because he’s him.
“I didn’t have time to get to know him, he shows up in a puff of smoke and there’s no chatting at the water cooler.”
The ‘Black Bear’ star continued: “By the time he’d show up, I’m in character. My character had one goal: To have sex with him. I was acting totally insane as the character because we were about to shoot. I don’t think he understood that wasn’t me. You’d think he would because he’s an actor and an amazing one.”
Plaza revealed that the ‘Raging Bull’ star hosted a lunch later in the shoot and didn’t recognise her as she was no longer in character.
She recalled: “I showed up and he’s like, ‘Who are you sweetheart?’ and after that he was normal. At first I think I came on really strong. I did some questionable things I wouldn’t do anymore.”

She said: “I want my opinion to matter contractually – and the fun of it is having control over the parts I get to play. I have really great ideas. It’s nice to get to change the final product and have an effect on it, and I’m just not the kind of person who waits around for the perfect thing to fall into my lap.”

Emmerdale bosses promise ‘a lot of heartache’ during their 50th anniversary

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ bosses promise “a lot of heartache” during their 50th anniversary.
The ITV soap – which is marking five decades with a special episode on Sunday (16.10.2022) – will increase the chances of waterworks with lots going on in the fictional town in the Yorkshire Dales.
Producer Laura Shaw said: “There is going to be a lot of heartache involved in October and the rivalry between Cain and Al is really going to step up a gear. Al and Chas have grown a lot closer now but will their affair finally be exposed? Viewers will have to wait and see!”
Executive producer Jane Hudson commented how “hard” it is to write off a character – such as Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) who is expected to succumb to her cancer battle – but knows its just a hazard of the genre.
She said: “It is always hard to kill a character as someone is losing their job. You don’t want somebody to lose their job. But the nature of soaps means if you want to introduce new characters, then you need to lose old ones.
“If you are going to do a death in the soap, it can’t be the postman who has had three lines because it doesn’t matter.
“A death has got to have an impact not just on the characters but also on the viewers watching. Each of our deaths will bring a different emotion.”
Producer Kate Brooks guaranteed a bounty of “high-octane drama” in the celebration while hinting some it might involve resident villain Kim Tate (Claire King).
She said: “There will be a lot of high-octane drama and as we all know, there is always drama around Kim Tate! You can expect things to not run smoothly especially as Harriet still has feelings for Will.
“Faith’s cancer journey takes a rocky turning, which has repercussions for both Cain and Chas. The storylines and the impact of what happens will propel us into 2023.”

Tom Felton would consider Harry Potter return

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Felton would be prepared to return for another ‘Harry Potter’ film.
The 35-year-old actor played Draco Malfoy in the movie adaptations of J.K. Rowling’s wizardry novels and confirmed that he would “consider” reprising the part if the series returned to the big screen.
Tom told the i newspaper: “I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t consider it.
“I definitely don’t miss Draco Malfoy, but I am very affectionately linked to him.”
The star added: “It seemed, looking back at it now that Potter would be the only thing in my life. But there were many, many things ahead of that.”
Tom – who has written the memoir ‘Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard’ – explained that it has been tough to move beyond ‘Harry Potter’ as an actor and found it difficult auditioning for parts in Hollywood.
He explained: “It wasn’t really returning to auditioning. It was learning to audition all over again.
“When children are brought in, half of it is, ‘Can you stand on the mark, not look down the lens of the camera, and take basic direction?’ I mean, really, how good can any seven-year-old be at anything?
“Going in there as a 20-year-old, especially in Los Angeles, the auditions are far more frequent and cut-throat. It’s a lesson – not necessarily in brutality, but in acceptance.”
Tom has a close bond with ‘Harry Potter’ co-star Emma Watson and reflected on how the pair’s relationship has been a point of interest for fans of the film franchise.
He said: “I think it was only through comic cons that I was introduced to this idea of ‘shipping’. I know Emma and I don’t have any problems with it.”
