Christine Hamilton hits out at ‘shameless’ Matt Hancock ahead of I’m A Celebrity stint

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine Hamilton has slammed Matt Hancock as “shameless” ahead of his ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ stint.
The 72-year-old media personality – who finished third on the first-ever series of the ITV show in 2002 – admitted she is getting “more and more angry” thinking about the former Health Secretary entering the jungle while he is being “paid by the taxpayer to represent his constituents”.
Christine – who is married to former Conservative MP Neil Hamilton – said: “He’s doing it for self-promotion. He’s got a book coming out. His ministerial career has hit the buffers. What he seems to forget is he’s still a very well-paid member of parliament, paid for by the taxpayer to look after his constituents.
“The idea that he can swan off to the jungle for a month – he’s not going into the camp for a week or so, so he’ll be living in five-star, apparently, luxury while he’s being paid by us, the taxpayer, to represent his constituents.
“I think it’s shameless, it’s appalling.”
Matt – who was diagnosed with dyslexia aged 18 – has revealed one of the reasons he wants to take part in the ITV reality show is to raise awareness of the learning difficulty, but Christine questioned how much ITV will show of him talking about dyslexia.
Speaking on Lorraine Kelly on her ITV show ‘Lorraine’, Christine added: “Let’s be fair to Matt Hancock. He says it’s going to give him a chance to talk to millions of people, far more people who watch what goes on in parliament, about his dyslexia campaign.
“Has he watched the show? Is ITV going to give prime time to his thoughts on dyslexia? But that’s his excuse, that’s his shower curtain. But I think it’s deeply shocking.”
Lorraine also poked fun at Matt, admitting he is “not very good with hidden cameras”, in reference to him previously coming under fire after he was caught on camera kissing his aide Gina Coladangelo amid the COVID-19 pandemic, when social distancing guidance was in place.
She joked: “He has got previous … when you talk about cameras exposing him, has he not? Yes, he’s not very good with hidden cameras, is he?”
Matt was suspended from the Conservative Party on Tuesday (01.11.22) after it was revealed he was entering the Australian jungle-based show.
Simon Hart, the Chief Whip, said: “Following a conversation with Matt Hancock, I have considered the situation and believe this is a matter serious enough to warrant suspension of the whip with immediate effect.”
The West Suffolk MP has since insisted he is taking part in the show to “talk directly” to those who “aren’t always interested in politics”, and to “show the human side of politicians”.

Lembit Opik defends Matt Hancock’s I’m A Celebrity decision

OHMYGOSSIP — Lembit Opik has defended Matt Hancock’s decision to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 57-year-old former politician – who took part in the ITV show in 2010 – says the former Health Secretary’s stint in the jungle may not even be “comparable to having a full-length holiday for anybody else” because “most MPs” work seven days a week.
When it was suggested West Suffolk MP Matt will be the other side of the world when he has constituents who need their MP “on their doorstep”, Lembit said: “We can always make these arguments. Boris Johnson was in Barbados recently. We can argue that if someone had an urgent problem in his constituency then he couldn’t have got back very fast.
“104 days a year are weekends. Most MPs work seven days a week. So if he bunches them all up into let’s say 16 days, if he makes it to the beginning of the knockout part of the programme, that’s not even comparable to having a full-length holiday for anybody else.
“I think we’ve got into righteous indignation here. If this wasn’t on TV, we wouldn’t be talking about it. If he’d gone on a quiet fishing holiday to Scotland people might even say, ‘This is a good staycation.’
“I think he’s being pariah-ed because we can. That’s of course why ITV want him there, he’s just absolutely flooding the ratings.”
Lembit lost his seat in parliament at the 2010 general election, seven months before he headed Down Under, but the former member of the Liberal Democrats admits he would’ve gone into the jungle regardless.
When asked if he would’ve taken part in the show if he was a serving MP, he said on ‘Good Morning Britain’: “Yeah, I’m not going to hide behind that. I would’ve gone into that jungle in December 2010 if I hadn’t lost my seat in May.
“And I wouldn’t have had any qualms about it at all. I’m in the Nadine Dorries, and Matt Hancock camp there.”
Matt – who was suspended from the Conservative Party on Tuesday (01.11.22) after it was revealed he was taking part in the show – is due to enter the jungle as a latecomer alongside comedian Seann Walsh.
The show returns on Sunday (06.11.22), when pop icon Boy George, ‘Coronation Street’ star Sue Cleaver, ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Owen Warner, former England rugby player Mike Tindall, radio presenter Chris Moyles, England Lioness Jill Scott, comedian Babatunde Aleshe, former ‘Love Island’ star Olivia Attwood, and TV presenters Charlene White and Scarlette Douglas will enter the camp.

Sam Thompson will get his kids to watch his Made in Chelsea breakup scene

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Thompson will make his kids watch his ‘Made in Chelsea’ break-up scene – to show them “what you don’t do”.
The 30-year-old reality TV personality is planning to show his future children his televised dumping of ex ‘Love Island’ star Zara McDermott, 25 – who he later got back together with – as an example of how to not handle such a situation.
While discussing the criticism of filming it, he said: “People always say, ‘But your kids will see it.’ F****** sweet. I’ll just show them exactly what you don’t do!
““It becomes a part of life. People get really hung up on the matter of people judging you but as long as you know you’re not an a*******, you’re good, really.”
Zara acknowledged it as something “you accept”, because they opted to put their lives on TV.
She said: “You accept that if there’s a camera in front of you, it’s going on TV. We’ve made that choice to share our lives with the world.”
Former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Zara admitted to watching the latest series of the E4 reality show.
After being asked if they watch it together, she said: “We don’t, but I have been watching the new series. I can’t get enough of it. I’m a reality TV junkie. I watch ‘TOWIE’, ‘Made In Chelsea’, ‘Love Island’ and ‘Married At First Sight’.”
Sam confessed he loves ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ to catch a glimpse of his good pal, Pete Wicks.
In a joint interview with OK! magazine, he said: “I’ve been watching ‘TOWIE’ with Zara,” to which Zara responded: “You watch ‘TOWIE’ because you want to watch Pete.”
Sam added: “It’s so entertaining watching Pete interact with all these people I’ve never met. Because I know him so well, I’m like, ‘This is such a weird side of you.’ I’ve never seen Pete getting mugged off by the likes of Gatsby!”

Boy George arrives Down Under in Lion mask ahead of I’m A Celeb…

OHMYGOSSIP — Vegan Boy George refused to say whether he’ll eat creepy crawlies during his stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The ‘Karma Chameleon’ hitmaker just landed in Brisbane airport in a Lion mask and declared himself the “Lion King” ahead of the competition.
He told The Sun: “I’m here to do a version of the Lion Queen.”
Quizzed on whether he’ll wear the mask in the jungle, he said: “Let’s hope so.”
And asked if he’ll be breaking his veganism to take part in the grim eating trials, which have seen celebrities chow down on the likes of a bull’s penis, a pig’s brain and a cow’s nose, he replied: “I’m a Lion Queen, I have told you. I love all creatures.”
Producers are thrilled to have signed the 80s pop icon, as he will offer “hilarious value in camp” with his dry sense of humour and frankness.
A TV source told the outlet: “Boy George is a real coup for producers, there is a lot of excitement in-house at ITV.
“The singer is renowned for his dry wit and frank delivery, he is always outspoken and will be hilarious value in camp, hopefully regaling viewers with his showbiz stories about his famous friends.
“While George is well acquainted with Australia after living in Sydney for several years, he has no experience of the Outback, so will be like a fish out of water living rough.”
The 61-year-old singer previously told hosts Ant and Dec he’d only do the ITV reality show if they did a vegan version.
He said: “Unless you do a vegan version and then I’m in.”
Hat-obsessed George has turned the opportunity down previously.
He said: “There would be serious clothing restrictions in the jungle.
“I’d have to get certain hats made and I couldn’t get over the food. I would have a problem with that.”
‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ returns on November 6 from 9pm on ITV.

Florence Pugh and Alexander Skarsgard reuniting for thriller The Pack

OHMYGOSSIP — Florence Pugh will be reunited with her ‘The Little Drummer Girl’ co-star Alexander Skarsgard in his upcoming thriller ‘The Pack’.
The ‘Succession’ star is helming the motion picture as well as starring in the survivalist flick, and the pair will be back on screen together for the first time since 2018.
The plot, per Deadline, follows a “group of documentarians who brave the remote wilderness of Alaska in an effort to save a nearly extinct species of wolves
“When the crew is brought back together at a prestigious awards ceremony, tensions flare as a deadly truth threatens to unravel their work.”
The original script comes from Rose Gilroy, who worked on the screenplay for ‘Project Artemis’ starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum.
Principle photography will commence in March 2023.
Florence has a number of movies on the way, including Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’, in which she will play Communist Party USA member Jean Tatlock.
The 26-year-old actress is set to play Princess Irulan in ‘Dune: Part Two’, as well as reprising her role as Yelena Belova in Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts’, and voicing Goldilocks in the ‘Puss in Boots’ sequel ‘The Last Wish’.
Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson previously heaped praise on her ‘Black Widow’ co-star, hailing Florence’s “healthy ego”.
She said: “Florence is so self-possessed. I was not that self-possessed.
“I actually realised, ‘wow, I have a lot of work to do on myself,’ when I worked with Florence. She’s got such a healthy ego and is in her skin. It was like, ‘this is another way to be. I’ve got to therapise more!’
“She really stands in her own shoes and is grounded, it was so impressive. She’s not judging herself. I love that about her and I would love to be more like that.”

Taron Egerton says filming for Kingsman is ‘further back in the pipeline’

OHMYGOSSIP — Taron Egerton has no idea when shooting will start on the next ‘Kingsman’ sequel.
The Golden Globe winner gained worldwide recognition for his portrayal as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin in spy comedy franchise ‘The Kingsman’ starring in two movies and he’s set to reprise the role for the fourth instalment ‘Kingsman: The Blue Blood’, which is currently in development by writer and director Matthew Vaughn.
However, Egerton has revealed he’s still in the dark on when the film will start production, telling Collider: “Unfortunately, that’s further back in the pipeline. You’ve got to ask Matthew [Vaughn] about that, I’m sure you’ll speak to him before too long, but trying to get information out of that guy is like trying to get blood from a stone.”
Kingsman: The Blue Blood’ is the upcoming fourth instalment in the franchise, following prequel ‘The King’s Man’ in 2019 which Egerton was not a part of.
Egerton will be reprising his role for the last time in the final instalment which is expected to be released in 2023 and will serve as a conclusion to the story of Egerton’s and Collin Firth’s characters.
However, the actor revealed his next role will require him to get back into shape.
He added: ”It’s so lame, I wish I could tell you about it, but it’s looking likely that I’ll be filming something in the last quarter of this year. Very, very, very different, but that will probably require me starting to think about getting back in shape and all that stuff.”
Egerton’s recently wrapped up filming for the ‘Tetris’ movie, which tells the story of the making of the game. He plays Dutch video game designer Henk Rogers.
Egerton said: “It’s really fun. Super different tonally to this, but it’s come together really well. I’m really excited about it.”

Stephen Mulhern favourite to host Deal Or No Deal reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephen Mulhern has been approached to host a reboot of ‘Deal Or No Deal’.
The ‘In for a Penny’ host, 45, is said to be the favourite to follow in the footsteps of 73-year-old Noel Edmonds – who presented the Channel 4 game show from 2005 until 2016 – after producers allegedly decided they want a new face to front the programme.
A source told The Sun: “’Deal Or No Deal’ was absolutely huge back in the day and pulled in millions of viewers.
“ITV think there is still a huge appetite for it and think they could make a huge success of the show if they brought it back.
“Plans for the reboot are in the very early stages and the details of when it could come back are being closely guarded.
“There have been discussions around Noel possibly returning but ITV decided they want to give the show a completely fresh look and feel.
“Stephen has been approached about being the new host of the show which is something he is over-the-moon about.
“He has really proven himself to ITV and after he got his own show ‘In For A Penny’, as well as ‘Catchphrase’, bosses think Stephen could be ideal for it.”
The format sees a contestant choose one of 22 boxes, each containing a cash amount between 1p to £250,000, and then attempting to win as much as possible either by gambling on having a high amount in their chosen box, or making the game’s hidden operator, named “the Banker”, offer a considerable cash sum for their box regardless of what is inside.
Over 11 years, ‘Deal Or No Deal’, gave away a total of £40 million to winners.

Henry Cavill ‘wasn’t ready’ to play James Bond

OHMYGOSSIP — Henry Cavill “wasn’t ready” to play James Bond despite coming close to landing the coveted part.
The ‘Man of Steel’ star got through to the final audition stage with just him and Daniel Craig in the running to play 007 but Henry eventually lost out when Bond bosses chose the more experienced ‘Layer Cake’ actor to play the superspy in 2006’s ‘Casino Royale’.
However, Henry is adamant producers made the right choice. Speaking on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, he explained: “They told me I was close. They told me it was ultimately down to, and this is what I’ve been told, it was just down to me and Daniel [Craig], and I was the younger option. They obviously went with Daniel and I think it was an amazing choice to go with Daniel.”
Henry went on to insist he may not have done the part of James Bond justice, adding: “I probably wasn’t ready at the time and I think Daniel did an incredible job over the past movies, so I’m happy they made that choice.”
However, auditioning to play Bond and missing out didn’t do Henry’s career any harm as he went on to land the role of Superman in 2013’s ‘Man of Steel’ which cemented his status as a leading man.
Looking back, Henry has no regrets over his failed Bond audition, adding: “It was a fun adventure at the time, and definitely gave me a boost to my career. That was the key element of it.”
Henry went on to play Superman in a series of later movies and he’s believed to be involved in a follow-up to ‘Man of Steel’.

Perri Kiely offers Tyler West a spot in Diversity – if he wins Strictly

OHMYGOSSIP — Perri Kiely has joked that Tyler West can become Diversity’s receptionist – if he wins ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The Radio DJ has scored highly on the BBC One Latin and ballroom show, and should he lift the glitterball trophy with dance partner Dianne Buswell, the dance troupe want to “cash in on him”.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk at KISS FM’s Haunted House Party, Perri said: “If he wins there’s a place, we’ve got to cash in on him.”
He then quipped “It’s an investment, we’ve just opened our new Diversity studio so we can make him a receptionist!”
One body expert believes Tyler’s “closeness” to Dianne will see him go far in the competition.
Darren Stanton recently told the Express: “Tyler has been working hard and has a fantastic relationship with his partner Dianne.
“There is always a physical closeness between them and it’s clear they have struck up an amazing friendship, which will last no matter how far they go in this series.
“Tyler comes across as a humble guy and, like many of the other contestants, shows a clear determination and focus.
“It seems as though Tyler is taking the competition week by week, instead of focusing on the end result.”
Meanwhile, Tyler has insisted his biggest rivals in the contest are himself and Dianne.
He told RadioTimes.com: “My biggest competitor, I would say ourselves because we just want to do the best that we possibly can. So every single time we’re going to train and it’s just us against us.
“I love everybody else on the show and everybody else is doing so good in their own couples and stuff.”
Though he does have an “ongoing rivalry” with ‘EastEnders’ star James Bye.
He added: “Me and James have an ongoing rivalry but that’s because he’s my bestie and we’ve moved into the same arrangement. So he likes to think that he takes over sometimes but he’s alright.”
On tonight’s (29.10.22) episode, Tyler and Dianne will be doing a Cha Cha Cha to ‘Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)’ from ‘Beetlejuice’.
Halloween Week kicks off at 6.50 pm on BBC One.

Fleur East rubs a memory ring for her late dad before each Strictly dance

OHMYGOSSIP — Fleur East touches her sentimental ring made from her late father’s band before every ‘Strictly’ dance.
The ‘X Factor’ alum has revealed the touching pre-show rituals she has before taking to the dancefloor on the BBC One Latin and ballroom show.
She said of the memory ring she wears for her dad Malcolm: “It’s a special ring that me and my sister got made from my father’s ring after he passed away. So that’s one ritual that I have, is that I always have to like, just touch my ring on my finger just before we perform.”
She added while speaking with RadioTimes.com: “I have to see my family, that’s a big one. I have to spot them in the crowd.”
Fleur recently revealed she received a psychic message from her late parent before the ‘Strictly’ launch show.
The 35-year-old star – who lost her dad in 2020 – received a special message from him via her cousin, who visited a medium.
She said before the launch: “In 72 hours I’ll be dancing live for the first time and it’s really exciting but something really weird has happened to me ahead of the ‘Strictly’ weekend.
“On Sunday I had a message from one of my cousins who had been to see a medium – people that speak to the spirit world.
“Now I’ve never gone to a medium because I do believe in it and I’m quite scared about going because I never wanted to test it. But my cousin went and this happened…”
The ‘Sax’ hitmaker then played a voice note from her cousin in which the medium claimed she was communicating with a spirit called Malcolm, whose daughter “sings and dances”.
The medium added: “His daughter is about to start something, she’s about to start an adventure as he’s calling it. He says to tell her I’m so proud of her and give her all the luck in the world.”
Reflecting on the message, Fleur admitted it was “eerie” but “really comforting”.
She said: “So my Dad passed away in 2020, his name was Malcolm and apparently he came through and wished me good luck ahead of Strictly.
“Is that not really weird? It’s eerie but it’s really comforting as well.
“Leading up to Strictly has been so nerve-racking and I’ve been so anxious and not having my Dad here for the first time before something so big in my life is huge. So to get a message like that is the setup I needed before the big weekend.”
Fleur and her dance partner Vito Coppola are set to perform a spooktacular salsa to Beyoncé’s ‘Break My Soul’ on tonight’s (29.10.22) show, which kicks off at 6.50pm on BBC One.

Shelley Duvall ends 20-year acting hiatus for new indie horror

OHMYGOSSIP — Shelley Duvall is returning to acting after 20 years.
The 73-year-old ‘The Shining’ star has landed a starring role in Scott Goldberg’s upcoming indie horror, ‘The Forest Hills’, alongside Edward Furlong, Chiko Mendez and Dee Wallace.
It follows “a disturbed man who is tormented by nightmarish visions, after enduring head trauma while camping in the Catskill Mountains.” Duvall will play the mother of Chiko’s mentally ill character Rico.
Goldberg told Deadline: “We are huge fans of ‘The Shining’ and it’s honestly one of my favourite horror movies of all time, up there with John Carpenter’s ‘Halloween’ and George A. Romero’s ‘Day of the Dead’ with the dark tones they delivered in their movies, along with perfect scores and elements that make them my personal favorites.
“Shelley contributed to ‘The Shining’ being an absolute masterpiece by giving her all, and performing in a way that really showcased the fear and horror of a mother in isolation.”
Duvall’s last movie was the 2002 comedy ‘Manna from Heaven’, in which she played Detective Dubrinski.
The Hollywood star retreated from the spotlight in the 1990s.
She’d later appear on a controversial episode of ‘Dr. Phil’ in 2016, where she opened up on her mental health issues.
Last year, she opened up about her hard time filming ‘The Shining’ and claimed director Stanley Kubrick had a cruel “streak”.
Although she insisted the filmmaker was always “very warm and friendly” to her and co-star Jack Nicholson, she also understood why he could be difficult.
Asked if she thought Kubrick had been unusually cruel or abusive towards her to drive her performance, she told The Hollywood Reporter: “He’s got that streak in him. He definitely has that. But I think mostly because people have been that way to him at some time in the past.
“His first two films were ‘Killer’s Kiss’ and ‘The Killing’…
“He was very warm and friendly to me. He spent a lot of time with Jack and me. He just wanted to sit down and talk for hours while the crew waited. And the crew would say, ‘Stanley, we have about 60 people waiting.’ But it was very important work.”
Duvall admitted making the 1980 horror classic was hard because the director insisted on multiple takes every time, and she eventually reached a point where she broke down in tears just at the thought of the day ahead.
She said: “[Kubrick] doesn’t print anything until at least the 35th take. Thirty-five takes, running and crying and carrying a little boy, it gets hard. And full performance from the first rehearsal. That’s difficult..
“[Before a take I would] listen to sad songs. Or you just think about something very sad in your life or how much you miss your family or friends.
“But after a while, your body rebels. It says: ‘Stop doing this to me. I don’t want to cry every day.’ And sometimes just that thought alone would make me cry.
“To wake up on a Monday morning, so early, and realise that you had to cry all day because it was scheduled — I would just start crying. I’d be like, ‘Oh no, I can’t, I can’t.’ And yet I did it. I don’t know how I did it. Jack said that to me, too. He said, ‘I don’t know how you do it.’ ”

Chris Tarrant only watched 2 of his own Who Wants To Be A Millionaire episodes

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Tarrant has only watched two of his own ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ episodes.
The 76-year-old TV presenter made more than 700 episodes of the ITV quiz show, but didn’t watch himself back much, so he doesn’t know why he would tune into the programme since Jeremy Clarkson took over the presenting reins.
Asked if he has watched the show since Jeremy took over, Chris said: “Do you know I haven’t, I don’t know why.
“I did 700 shows and I only watched two of them, so why would I watch Jeremy’s [version]?
“I don’t watch game shows. I watch Netflix, Sky Sports, dramas, that’s it really. That’s about 24 hours.”
Chris Tarrant and his partner Jane Bird recently welcomed a Ukrainian refugee family into their home, after the country was invaded by Vladimir Putin’s Russia.
The star has admitted having the family stay with him has “enhanced” his life.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: I’ve got three [Ukrainian refugees] who live in my house.
“They’ve been with us since the beginning of the war. There’s a mum, a daughter and a little baby.
“They’ve been with us now [for] eight months, I’m getting them a flat soon that I’m paying for or whatever, because I really want them to be closer to the city centre.
“They have enhanced my life these people. The baby … I mean I know I’ve had my own kids but this baby is so sweet.
“She was seven months, now if she had stayed she’d be on the front of a tank or something.
“I mean the idea of what happened and how they got away is just extraordinary.”

Bruno Tonioli: Keeping Masked Dancer identity a secret was a nightmare

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Tonioli says it was “a nightmare” keeping his ‘The Masked Dancer’ identity a secret.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge – who took on the persona of the Pearly King on the ITV show – found it “hard” to come up with lots of excuses to justify saying no to his loved ones.
The 66-year-old star said: “That was a nightmare because there were things I couldn’t do and I couldn’t tell (friends or family) why. I’d find all these excuses to justify turning things down. It was hard, but now I’ll be forgiven!”
Despite this, Bruno “really loved” being the Pearly King and became “possessed” by his new alter-ego on the British edition of the South Korean show.
He said: “I really loved the character. I absolutely adore Pearly King. Whilst playing him, I was possessed by him. I had to tame him. It took me a couple weeks to tame the character because it was taking over. It was such a good character.
“The head, it’s not so much the heaviness it’s that it was so wide. When you moved it kept moving so it had its own gravity field and you couldn’t see. It was like being inebriated and blindfolded at the same time. It wasn’t easy I have to say.
“The character itself carries you through it. It’s a skill, not just for me but for everyone else, every costume has its own ways of using it.
“With Pearly King the head was so wide, it really was a big head. It couldn’t get any bigger and because of the shape of it, it was almost like having a visor.
“You can rehearse and plan the routine and then when the light changes when on the stage it creates shadows so sometimes I had no idea where I was! Sometimes the dancers had to help steer me around the stage because I had no sense of direction.
“It was a challenge but I really enjoyed it. I loved working with the dancers, they were so good, I loved the process of being back in the rehearsal room, it was wonderful.”
The ‘Dancing With the Stars’ judge labelled ‘The Masked Dancer’ presenter Joel Dommett “such a good sport” for putting up with his antics.

EastEnders’ Balvinder Sopal found lesbian affair plot ‘daunting’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ star Balvinder Sopal has found her recent same-sex storyline “daunting”.
The 42-year-old actress – who plays Albert Square businesswoman Suki Panesar – says her no-nonsense character’s latest plot, which has seen her become close to Eve Unwin (Heather Peace), is “everything” she’s never done before on screen.
She told BBC Radio Kent: “For a lot of my career I have played women who have never been exposed in that way, sexually.
“It has always been women who cannot speak English, that wear a hijab.
“Suki is everything I have never played.
“So doing kissing scenes with somebody that is not a partner is quite daunting and weird and strange.”
Balvinder also praised Heather and how supportive she had been on set while playing out Suki’s self-discovery storyline, after the character’s controlling husband Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) was released from prison after spending 20 years inside.
Recently, Heather labelled Eve and Suki’s union “a meeting of souls”.
The 47-year-old actress said: “It’s two strong women. Eve won’t take any c*** from her and sees right through it. She isn’t scared of her; there’s nothing she could do. Eve’s a protector,” Heather shared of her character’s role in the show and the pair’s relationship.
“To play a love story has been great. Women of a certain age don’t just jump into bed together. It’s a meeting of souls.”
Earlier this month, former ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘Coronation Street’ star Balvinder called it “the worst time” for Nish – the father of her four kids Kheerat (Jaz Singh Deol), Ash (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) Vinny (Shiv Jalota) and the late Jags (Amar Adatia) – to return to Walford.
She said: “It’s the worst time for Nish to walk back into her life. It’s a very dangerous thing for Suki. If the family is split now, [she] could face complete isolation with Nish back.
“It puts things into context for the viewers and me as an actor. It’s a dangerously slow game that pushes Suki to the edge, and it’s exciting to see what she and Nish will do.”

Dawn O’Porter cried in cupboards for months after Caroline Flack passing

OHMYGOSSIP — Dawn O’Porter cried in cupboards for months after Caroline Flack’s death.
The 43-year-old writer hid her grief after losing her good friend, the ex ‘Love Island’ host – who took her own life in February 2020 aged 40 – from her and her husband Chris O’Dowd’s two young sons, Art, seven, and Valentine, five, by weeping in her wardrobe when she was housebound due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
She told the ‘Spinning Plates’ podcast: “[My children] were so young at the time, only five and two, she died on the 15th of February, just before the pandemic got its claws into us all.
“Which is just so weird because I just blurred the whole thing together now I think.
“I got COVID on the way back to LA from her funeral on the Friday, and then the world shut down on the Monday. It’s just this weird period of grief, not being able to leave the house and still being in floods of tears for six hours a day.
“With two kids at home, I cried in cupboards. I just didn’t want them to see.
“They were going through enough, school had just been shut down, my five-year-old is being forced to do some weird thing on his computer which he didn’t know what was going on.”
Dawn didn’t want to dump her grief “on top of them as well” with everything else that was happening in the world.
She said: “Trump’s voice was blaring through the radio, everyone’s going to die, ‘Oh my god we’re all dying!’ And I was like, ‘What the kids are about to go through is so, whatever, it’s happening, I’m not going to put my grief on top of them as well.’
“So I dealt with it quite privately in a little bungalow that we were living in at the time. And somehow realised the importance, I didn’t have a very big one but I had a walk-in wardrobe. A mum must always have one so she can always go there and cry.”
The ‘Cat Lady’ author revealed she got the tragic news of Caroline’s passing “about an hour before it broke on Twitter” and is “eternally grateful” she learned about it before the rest of the world did.
Dawn said: “In terms of the day itself, I got a call from my friend Josie at around 7.30 in the morning, about an hour before it broke on Twitter.
“I am just eternally grateful that I heard it from her rather than if I had woken up late that morning and saw it on the internet, that’s just terrifying.
“Chris was in the living room with the kids, and I just texted him to say, ‘Something really awful has happened, can you put the TV on and just come to me.’
And I can’t imagine what he was faced with when he came into the room. I was just howling.”

Marlon Wayans will defend White Chicks against cancel culture

OHMYGOSSIP — Marlon Wayans will walk “a thousand miles” to defend ‘White Chicks’ from cancel culture.
The 50-year-old actor starred with his brother Shawn Wayans in the 2004 comedy movie that followed a pair of FBI agents who go undercover as white women to foil a kidnapping plot.
The white face premise of the movie is now viewed as inappropriate by some but Marlon has attacked the concept of cancel culture in comedy.
He told Buzzfeed: “I don’t know what planet we’re on, where you think people don’t need laughter, and that people need to be censored and cancelled. If a joke is gonna get me cancelled, thank you for doing me that favour.”
The ‘Scary Movie’ star continued: “It’s sad the society is in this place where we can’t laugh anymore. I ain’t listening to this damn generation. I ain’t listening to these folks: These scared-a** people, these scared executives.
“Y’all do what you want to do? Great. I’m still gonna tell my jokes the way I tell them. And if you want to make some money, jump on board. And if not, then I’ll find a way to do it myself.
“I know my audience. My audience comes to my shows every weekend and they leave feeling great and laughing. One thing about the Wayans, we’ve always told the worst joke the best way.”
Marlon previously suggested that it was “white chicks” who found the film funny.
He said in 2020: “That’s how you know it’s a good movie. For us, I think a good joke in comedy is when the people you make fun of laugh the loudest.
“And what is beautiful is that we’re equal-opportunity offenders. It was a great exploration of gender, of race, of pop culture, and done with kid gloves so everybody could laugh. And I think that’s what makes it a cult classic to this day.”
