Bad Bunny cast in Happy Gilmore 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Bad Bunny is starring in ‘Happy Gilmore 2’.
The 30-year-old rapper has landed another acting role in the upcoming sequel to Adam Sandler’s 1996 sports movie that is currently in production at Netflix.
The Puerto Rican star has previously featured opposite Brad Pitt in the film ‘Bullet Train’ and is also set to appear in the crime thriller ‘Caught Stealing’ with Austin Butler and Zoe Kravitz.
Plot details on the sequel have not been revealed but the original film told the story of unsuccessful ice hockey player Happy Gilmore (Sandler) who discovers he has a talent for golf and becomes a sensation when he joins the tour.
Kyle Newacheck is directing the film while Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald are reprising their parts as Gilmore’s love interest Virginia Venit and golfing rival Shooter McGavin respectively.
Production on the movie started on Monday (09.09.24), with Sandler posting on Instagram with the caption: “It ain’t over. The way I see it… we’ve only just begun.”
Adam explained that he and his team have been hard at work to make a worthy sequel to the hit sports flick.
He told ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ last month: “It’s good. We worked hard on the script. We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time, ‘Do Happy Gilmore 2.’ And I was always like, ‘Nah, I’ll only let you down.’
“We’re really excited about it … We wrote our a**** off. We’re continuing to try to make it a movie that I think you’ll like.”
NFL star – and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend – Travis Kelce is set to make a cameo appearance and Sandler confirmed that he has “a nice something” in the pipeline for the Kansas City Chiefs player.
The 58-year-old star said: “We have a nice something for Travis. He’s gonna come by.
“He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”

Don Johnson seeks out the ‘humanity’ in bad guys

OHMYGOSSIP — Don Johnson searches for the “humanity” in villains.
The 74-year-old star plays antagonist Sandy Burnne in the Netflix thriller ‘Rebel Ridge’ and described how he tries to explore all facets of a character when playing the part of a bad guy.
In an interview with Collider, Don said: “I love playing all different types of characters. I especially love playing this bad guy because this bad guy is actually a good guy.
“In all the bad guys I play, I find the humanity. Even bad guys, even – dare I say it – some of the most heinous people in history were human.
“To deny the humanity is to deny yourself. So, playing villains is a pretty exciting part of the equation. In discovering the humanity and why they do certain things that they do, it’s like they were inexorably drawn on a string by their DNA to be at that place, that spot, that time, for that incident to happen.”
Don recalled how he drew on his vast experience in the industry to give director Jeremy Saulnier some advice on how to shoot a scene.
The ‘Miami Vice’ star said: “Jeremy knows this because we talked about it: when I first arrived, Jeremy hadn’t worked with somebody with my experience.
“So, the first day, he’s directing the hard way – setting up and then backing the actors into it and into the blocking. I said, ‘Between the three or four of us in this scene, we’ve got 150 years of experience. You got to take advantage of that.’
“I said, ‘Let’s do this scene again. I’m gonna rehearse it first and see where it falls in naturally. Then you figure out how you want to shoot it.’
“He stopped, he thought about it a second, and it was like it hadn’t occurred to him. Then I did it, and he said, ‘Oh yeah!'”

Davina McCall would pay to go on My Mum, Your Dad

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall would pay to go on ‘My Mum, Your Dad’ if she was single.
The television presenter- who has been dating Michael Douglas since 2017 – hosts the hit ITV dating show which focuses on helping single parents find love, while their children watch their every move from a screening room.
The programme is returning for a second series on ITV on Monday (16.09.24) and Davina would love to go on a “retreat” based on the series if she wasn’t in a relationship.
She told OK! magazine: “Dating still has to catch up. We should actually do ‘My Mum, Your Dad’ retreats as a commercial venture because I would pay to go if I wasn’t in a relationship!
“You come to the retreat with a lot of baggage and they do so much work on themselves.
“The kids are watching their parents come to terms with something they have had trouble with all their children’s lives, and suddenly you’re seeing them open up a bit.”
Davina, who has three children — Holly, 22, Tilly, 20, and Chester, 17, with ex-husband Matthew Robertson – also shared that the contestants on the show aren’t the only ones with a new lease of life and she still feels as if she is in her twenties.
She added: “We are the first of the new generation of midlifers where we were at the illegal raves, taking drugs — we were pioneers.
“We were naughty, we were fun, we were outrageous. Then we had kids, we settled down and we were good people for 15 years. Maybe 18 if you’re lucky.
“Then your kids are 18 and you’re thinking, ‘Right, let’s go again!’ It’s like having a second chance at life. But on this show, we’re making the kids watch that second chance at life.”
The second series of ‘My Mum, Your Dad’ starts on Monday (16.09.24) on ITV1 and ITVX.

Joel Dommett thinks Claudia Winkleman could cause upset at the NTAs

OHMYGOSSIP — Joel Dommett thinks Claudia Winkleman could cause an upset at the National Television Awards.
The comedian and ‘Masked Singer’ presenter is set to host the NTAs tonight (11.09.24) for the third year in a row and has made a prediction that ‘The Traitors’ star may win the best TV presenter award, ending Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly’s run after taking home the gong for the last 22 years in a row.
Joel told The Sun newspaper: “’The Traitors ‘is now so huge, with that and ‘Strictly’, if anyone was going to give Ant and Dec a run for their money, I think it would be Claudia Winkleman.”
Despite facing a string of controversies and allegations of misconduct regarding the likes of Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has been nominated in the talent show category at tonight’s event alongside ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, ‘The Great British Bake Off’, ‘MasterChef’ and ‘The Voice UK’.
After ‘This Morning’ missed out on the daytime TV prize for the first time in 13 years in 2023, Joel believes viewers need to be able to trust TV stars, while scandals can cause mistrust.
He added: “People want to know what we are projecting on telly is real and genuine.
“When someone’s at home watching ‘This Morning’, ‘Strictly’, whatever, they want to know that this character that they love on telly is the same person in the dressing room or in their house.
“And so when scandal rocks our industry in such a way, I think people start to mistrust.
“However, shows like ‘Strictly’ are so big and so it takes a lot to rock these things sometimes. So we’ll see what the NTAs bring.”
Joel has also teased that he will be opening the ceremony with a big number.
He said: “It felt like we needed to do something a little bit different so I decided to go for it. It’s tapping into a totally different skill set but I didn’t realise how much effort this idea is.
“I like to just scare myself every now and again – I won’t say too much about it, but it’s something that you wouldn’t expect from me and there is real potential for it to go wrong and not much potential for it to go right.”
The National Television Awards is being broadcasted live from the O2 in London at 8pm on ITV.

Jennifer Metcalfe admits Hollyoaks changes have put her under ‘financial pressure’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Metcalfe admits the recent ‘Hollyoaks’ changes have put her under “some financial pressure”.
The 41-year-old actress – who has played Mercedes McQueen on the E4 soap since 2006 – has reflected on the impact of cuts, including the number of episodes being slashed to three a week.
She’s quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column as saying: “The show changing has brought some financial pressure.
“I’m a single parent looking after a little boy. It’s been a tricky time.”
As well as cutting the amount of episodes, bosses have also axed more than 20 regular cast members, with the likes of Steph Waring, Annie Wallace and Ellis Hollins all leaving.
Jennifer admitted the mood on set has been “really sad” seeing a lot of her friends “leaving each week”.
She added: “The change of the show has been tough. It’s been really sad at work.
“I’ve been on the show for 20 years and the reason I’ve signed every year is because it’s like a family. There has always been such a buzz around on set.
“It’s full of best mates. But recently people have been leaving each week. It’s been really heavy. It’s sad the amount of people that have gone.”
Ellis – who played Tom Cunningham from the age of three – is pleased that he got to bow out of the show alongside his on-screen sister Stephanie Waring when the pair of them fled the village following a dangerous showdown with a gangster,
The 24-year-old actor told Digital Spy: “It was a bit of a whirlwind, although a lot of my scenes were spaced out in terms of the schedule. It wasn’t that busy towards the end of my filming days, but I knew what was coming so I was still anticipating my last day.
“It was really nice that I could see Tom had come full circle and hopefully deliver on his exit. It was a lot, but I’m finally coming down from that now.
“I hadn’t worked with Steph Waring [who plays Cindy] for quite a while. So if Tom has to leave, it’s nice that he’s doing it with the family that he’s got left.
“I’m very glad that they didn’t kill Tom off. Obviously that leaves the door open for potential adventures for Tom in the future – I can’t say that wouldn’t be great.”

‘It was nerve-wracking’: Dave Bautista felt the pressure of leading The Killer’s Game

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista found it “nerve-wracking” stepping up to a lead role in ‘The Killer’s Game’.
The wrestler-turned-actor stars in the new movie as assassin Joe Flood – who has to fend off a hit he places on himself after he is incorrectly diagnosed with a terminal illness – and admits that he had reservations about moving from supporting actor to lead star.
Dave told The Hollywood Reporter: “It was nerve-wracking for me; I’m hoping people receive it well, still a little self-conscious about it. It was a challenge that I wanted, I accepted.
“It was a couple of years ago where I said to myself I need to stop taking so many supporting roles, and I need to seek out lead roles, even if I have to create lead roles for myself.”
The 55-year-old star continued: “I heard Mahershala Ali years ago saying that’s what he did; he said look, he had to start turning down supporting roles if he ever wanted to be a lead.
“And I do want to be a lead, that’s the way you progress in this business, and you don’t grow if you’re constantly taking supporting roles. You’re not going to become a bigger star, and my whole goal is to become a bigger star.”
The ‘Dune’ actor detailed how he hopes his star keeps ascending in order for him to “make smaller films”.
Bautista said: “It’s funny, I want to be a bigger star so I can make smaller films, that’s my goal. Those are the films I love. But the fastest route to that is being a commodity; if you’re a big star, you’re a commodity.
“So that’s the thing – people are willing to listen to you, they’re willing to hear you out if you can bring something to the table, and you bring something to the table when you’re a big star.
“So I’m hoping to grow my name and become enough of a star where I can make smaller independent films.”

The ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ co-hosts – who were up for the prize alongside Alison Hammond,Stacey Solomon, Claudia Winkleman and Bradley Walsh – thanked their fans for helping them continue their record-breaking streak at the annual ceremony on Thursday (11.09.24) night.
Taking to the stage at The O2 in London, Declan Donnelly laughed: “Sit down Bradley, sit down!”
He then said: “What can we say? Thank you so much. It’s really, really hard to put into words just how this feels year after year and how much it means to us that you take the time to vote for us and make us your winners.”
Ant McPartlin added: “Honestly, it’s a joy, we know we’re not gonna win it one year but it’s not tonight, thank God.
“But thank you to everybody who works with us on our shows, we love you, we wouldn’t be here without you guys.”
The pair then paid tribute to their wives and families, with Dec revealing he was carrying a good luck charm from his daughter.
Ant said: “Thank you to our beautiful wives and lovely supportive families, sorry we work so much but we’ve got some time off now.”
Dec added: “Thank you to our families in the Toon.”
As Ant then jokingly thanked Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe, Dec said: “Our lives have changed so unbelievably since we won these awards, over the last six years recently as we’ve got very small children.
“It used to be we’d be going out partying and now we’re going back to dirty nappies and the school run tomorrow.
“My girl Isla is six now, she left for school this morning and said ‘Good luck, I hope you win the trophy’. In fact, she said, ‘Take my lip balm, I think it’ll be good luck.’ ”
Pulling the tube of lip balm out of his pocket, he exclaimed: “Isla, it worked! We won!”
The win was the pair’s second time on stage during the evening as ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ had scooped the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award earlier in the ceremony.

Mr Bates vs The Post Office leads National Television Award winners

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Mr. Bates vs The Post Office’ was the big winner at Thursday’s (11.09.24) National Television Awards (NTAs).
The ITV drama – which was based on the British Post Office scandal that saw hundreds of sub-postmasters wrongly prosecuted for theft or fraud – picked up the New Drama prize at London’s The O2, as well as the Impact accolade in recognition of how it generated wider interest in the scandal and political intervention, and the Drama Performance accolade for Toby Jones, who played the titular Alan Bates.
Accepting his prize, Toby said: “This means an awful lot not just to me but the extraordinary people who inspired our show, some of whom are in the audience this evening.”
His co-star Monica Dolan spoke on behalf of the cast and crew, as well as the real-life sub-postmasters who joined them on stage when they picked up the New Drama award.
She said: “We were so grateful and proud for the audience response to this drama anyway but to win this award, voted for my the public, is absolutely incredible.
” Thank you to Polly Hill, thank you to the directing and producing and writing team, Patrick Spence, the brilliant Gwyneth Hughes, James Strong, Natasha Bondy, Joe WIlliams, thank you to Chris Clough our producer and I want to say a word for the actors and the supporting artists actually, we were a close knit group, it was a real ensemble and everyone gave their whole heart and soul for their performance.
“Thank you to the crew as well, costume and make-up but I want to finish by saying a very, very big thank you to all the sub-post masters. Their trusting us to tell their story has been the privilege of our lives. Thank you so much.”
Elsewhere at the ceremony, which was hosted by Joel Dommett, Davina McCall was handed the Special Recognition award in honour of her lengthy career.
She gave an emotional speech as she thanked her family, partner Michael Douglas, and those she has worked with over the years.
But she also laughed: “I love my job, I feel so privileged to be able to share it with you and you quite like some of it, not all of it. I have presented some turkeys, I know.”
‘Emmerdale’ won the hotly-contested serial drama prize but its star Eden Taylor-Draper lost out to ‘Coronation Street’s Peter Ash in the Serial Drama Performance category.
Peter – whose character Paul Foreman passed away on screen earlier this week after battling motor neurone disease (MND) – said in his speech: “This is honestly incredible, thank you so much everyone who voted for me. What an amazing way to end my six years on ‘Coronation Street’…
“A massive, huge, the biggest thank you ever to the MND association they helped us with this storyline massively, they’ve been there from day one Please do support them if you can, they do amazing work and one day we need to find a cure…
“I’d like to dedicate this to the MND community, an amazingly inspiring bunch of people, they really are warriors and all my love goes to you.”

Hugh Grant ‘wrote some scenes’ to fix Daniel Cleaver’s role in new Bridget Jones film

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Grant “wrote some scenes” to make sure Daniel Cleaver fit into ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy’.
The 64-year-old actor will reprise his role in the upcoming fourth movie in the rom-com franchise – which stars Renee Zellweger in the title role – after not being involved in the previous film ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’.
He told Vanity Fair magazine: “I loved the script—it made me cry, and I wanted to help with this one.
“But really there’s no part for Daniel Cleaver in it at all. They wanted him in it, and in the end, they’d done something I wasn’t crazy about.”
Instead, Grant took matters into his own hands, and “wrote some scenes” himself, with the filmmakers working them into the story.
He added: “It’s absolutely the best [‘Bridget Jones’ book], and I think it’s very funny and very, very moving.
“I’m not in a lot, I did a week’s work, that’s it… But when you see the film, you’ll be very moved.”
He first played the womanising boss in the original 2011 ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ film opposite Zellweger and Colin Firth, and he was able to break away from his heartthrob typecasting.
He admitted: “There are people in my life who have always said, ‘Oh, that’s much more like the real Hugh.’ ”
He enjoyed bringing back the character in 2004 for ‘The Edge of Reason’, before declining a request to play Cleaver again in the 2016 sequel.
He explained: “I really couldn’t fit my character in—he just didn’t belong, so I stepped aside.”
Grant isn’t above turning down roles if he doesn’t think it’ll work out, particularly at this point if he expects too much studio involvement.
He said: “I’ve turned down a few that I thought were insufficient in quality or independence allowed to the filmmakers — you felt like a big corporation [was] breathing down the neck of these filmmakers, and I don’t want to make that decision.”

Michael B Jordan to direct and star in 3rd Thomas Crown Affair remake

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael B. Jordan is to direct a third ‘Thomas Crown Affair’ remake.
The ‘Creed III’ filmmaker previously signed up to star in the Amazon MGM Studios motion picture, and he’s now also expected to helm the project.
Sources have told Deadline that Jordan is to direct the film, and he is also set to produce the movie via his Outlier Society banner, and alongside Elizabeth Raposo.
Jordan is expected to follow in the footsteps of Pierce Brosnan and Steve McQueen by portraying the titular character, after they both led 1999 and 1968 movie versions respectively.
The new motion picture’s logline reads: “A debonair, adventuresome bank executive believes he has pulled off the perfect multi-million dollar heist, only to match wits with a sexy insurance investigator who will do anything to get her man.”
Jordan’s next ‘Thomas Crown Affair’ job is thought to be finding a female lead.
Brosnan starred opposite Rene Russo, while McQueen appeared alongside Faye Dunaway in the first movie.
Plot details for the third remake are being kept under wraps, after Drew Pearce penned the script.
In 2021, Jordan admitted he had been thinking more about the roles he takes on, and the importance of signing up for films like ‘Thomas Crown Affair’ and ‘Fahrenheit 451’, which feature parts that weren’t written specifically for Black actors.
He told Men’s Health UK magazine: “You take these roles that aren’t written specifically for [you] because they have a platform, and you inject yourself and your experience into the character.
“That’s the Trojan horse. Until this past year or so, that was a lot harder to do.
“We’re in this moment in time where I think, now more than ever, places are looking for that, because if not, there are ramifications [and] criticism.”

‘I’m so happy for her!’ Leigh Francis wishes he was at NTAs to ‘clap for’ Davina McCall

OHMYGOSSIP — Leigh Francis wishes he had attended the National Television Awards to clap for Davina McCall, because he owes his career to her.
The 51-year-old comedian couldn’t attend the NTAs on Wednesday night (11.09.24), but he was delighted to see legendary TV presenter Davina McCall scoop a Special Recognition award in honour of her lengthy career, after the star helped Leigh to get his big break.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he said: “I text Davina this morning. I was so happy for her.
“She asked me if I was going to the NTAs, and I said, ‘No, I’m not going. I’m busy doing something else.’
“I wish I was there to clap for her, because it’s well deserved.
“I don’t think I’d be her if it wasn’t for Davina.”
The former ‘Celebrity Juice’ star told how the ‘My Mum, Your Dad’ host gave his career a huge boost during his early years, by helping him sign up to her agency.
He added: “I did a sketch with her. It was the first thing I’d ever done, and she said, ‘Have you got an agent?’ I said, ‘No,’ and she said, ‘Here’s the number of mine. Are you going to call him?’
“I said, ‘No,’ and she said, ‘Do you want me to call him?’ I went, ‘Yeah,’ and then she did and hooked me up with her then-agent.
“I was with them for 12 years. It’s all because of Davina.
“She’s done loads of pilots with me, and so did Kate Thornton back I the day.”
Keith also told how he once filmed a pilot episode that was produced by Andi Peters, and claimed the TV presenter initially wanted to cast someone else rather than him in the project.
But he eventually landed the role after he dyed his ginger hair and was styled by Johnny Vaughan’s now-ex-wife, costume designer Antonia Davies.
He added: “I did a pilot and it was getting commissioned.
“Andi Peters, who was the commissioner, said, ‘We can’t have that ginger kid doing it though, find someone else.’
“They auditioned loads of good-looking people, Dermot O’Leary nearly got it, and then they went back to me and told me to dye my hair and change my clothes.
“I went shopping with Johnny Vaughan’s wife back then, and she styled me.”

Abbey Clancy’s property show ‘axed by ITV’

OHMYGOSSIP — Abbey Clancy’s property show has reportedly been cancelled by ITV.
The 38-year-old model and presenter launched her own series ‘Abbey Clancy: Celebrity Homes’ last autumn, but the programme didn’t quite catch on with viewers in the way executives had hoped it would.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column: “The top brass had a meeting about the show and decided not to continue with it.
“There are no plans for another series.”
The show featured the likes of models Jodie Kidd and Caprice as well as singer Heidi Range and socialite Jo Wood, while Abbey herself added to the star studded feel.
However, the insider added: “The show had everything going for it – celebrities, fancy homes and some gossip.
“But it didn’t deliver big enough viewing figures.”
Despite the disappointment, it’s believed the channel will try to work with Abbey – who is married to retired England footballer Peter Crouch – on other projects in the future.
An ITV source said: “Abbey is a big star and it’s hoped she’ll do other formats.”
In the programme, she showed viewers inside the houses of the rich and famous to delve into the inspirations behind their designs.
Announcing the series last year, ITV said at the time: “We will hear the personal stories behind their treasured possessions and gain a rare insight into their personal lives in this warm, fun and revealing series.”
In a statement, Amanda Stavri – ITV’s Commissioning Editor Reality – revealed her hope that Abbey would offer “a real insight into their lives”.
She added: “Bringing even more reality programming to ITVBe and ITVX we are thrilled to announce that Abbey will showcase a real insight into their lives, passions and interests through two brand new commissions.”

Noel Edmonds ‘to make TV comeback’

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Edmonds has reportedly signed a £1 million deal to make his TV comeback.
The former ‘Deal or No Deal’ host has been mostly out of the spotlight since his 2018 appearance in ‘I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!’ – when he became the first star to be booted out of the jungle – but he’s now said to be returning to screens in a new ITV reality series documenting life on his country estate in New Zealand since moving there in 2019.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Noel’s incredible – and very eccentric – life is going to make TV gold …
“For his part, Noel would like the world to know he hasn’t retired, and this chapter of his life is a new adventure. There was a feeding frenzy from production companies to secure the rights, and everyone knows this could be a huge comeback for Noel.”
The three-part series will reportedly be filmed on his River Haven estate in New Zealand and show the former TV regular tending to his vineyards, pulling pints in his own pub and broadcasting his Positivity Radio New Zealand station which is aimed at plants and pets.
According to the newspaper, the show has the working title of ‘Noel’s Haven’ and is likely to air in 2025.
Noel, 75, recently made a UK TV appearance on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ and joked he’s “too busy” to hang out with his former telly sidekick Mr Blobby.
He said: “I’m too busy. I’m running the biggest online radio production company. In New Zealand, I have a farm of a thousand acres, I have a vineyard, and last week I found out our white wine is up for an award.
“I talk to Mr Blobby most days. He calls me; it has to be said, not the entertaining conversation. I feel sorry for him. He wants a station on my radio!”

Tommy Fury set for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Fury is in talks for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 25-year-old boxer – who shot to fame when he took part in ‘Love Island’ in 2019 – is in talks to head to Australia for the popular ITV reality competition and producers think he’s got just what it takes to take on the Bushtucker Trials.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Tommy is a great name as a potential campmate as he’s already known to the ITV audience and he’d be brilliant in the Bushtucker Trials.
“Bosses are talking with lots of celebrities and are determined to make this year’s line-up one of the best.”
And fans will be hoping to get a glimpse of Tommy’s toned physique in the jungle shower.
An ITV source added: “They also know that the super-fit boxer is likely to be a prime candidate for the annual hunk-in-the-jungle shower scenes.”
Tommy has been in the news recently after splitting from girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague, who he first met on ‘Love Island’.
He recently admitted he was “heartbroken” by the news and slammed rumours he had been unfaithful to the mother of his 19-month-old daughter Bambi.
He wrote on Instagram: “These last few weeks have been heartbreaking.
“The false allegations about me have been horrendous, thank you to everybody who has stood by me through this.”
Molly-Mae had announced their split via a social media post last month.
She wrote on Instagram at the time: “Never in a million years did I think I’d ever have to write this.
“After five years of being together, I never imagined our story would end, especially not in this way.
“I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end.
“I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter.
“Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority.
“I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years. You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it’s right to share this with you all.

Lady Gaga drew on ‘mania and chaos inside’ to play Harley Quinn

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga used her experience with “mania and chaos inside” to inform her performance of Harley Quinn.
The 38-year-olod actress portrays the comic book character in ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ and she’s explained how she drew on her personal way of handling feelings of being overwhelmed to develop a “quietness” for her alter ego.
She told the new issue of America’s Vogue magazine: “Harley Quinn is a character people know from the ether of pop culture.
“I had a different experience creating her, namely my experience with mania and chaos inside — for me, it creates a quietness.
“Sometimes women are labeled as these overly emotional creatures and when we are overwhelmed we are erratic or unhinged. But I wonder if when things become so broken from reality, when we get pushed too far in life, what if it makes you…quiet?
“I would say that I worked from a sense-memory perspective: What does it feel like to walk through the world and be…braced, in an intense way? And what happens when you cover up all of the complexities beneath the surface?”
Music features prominently in the film but Gaga’s pop star background wasn’t helpful as she needed to “undo” her techniques in order to sound like a regular person.
She said: “I worked really hard on that, kind of trying to undo all my technique. I mean, Ally Maine in ‘A Star Is Born’ is a singer and it’s a movie about people who make music. That is not what this film is about at all.”
Her co-star, Joaquin Phoenix, added: “[Gaga] encouraged me to sing live and I encouraged her to sing poorly.
“I remember asking her to sing without her vibrato. She has a beautiful vibrato—too beautiful. I think she felt naked without it.
“But as soon as she moved away from technique she unlocked her character’s voice.”
