Ellie Taylor and Tyler West top Strictly Come Dancing leaderbaord

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Taylor and Tyler West have finished joint-top of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard.
The 38-year-old comedy star and her professional partner Johannes Radebe wowed the judges with their Couple’s Choice routine.
‘Strictly’ judge Motsi Mabuse hailed the performance as her favourite of the night, and the duo were awarded a score of 35 out of a possible 40 points, putting them joint-top of the leaderboard.
They were joined at the summit of the leaderboard by Tyler and his professional partner Dianne Buswell.
The 26-year-old DJ and Dianne, 33, achieved the same score with their Cha Cha Cha routine.
The duo performed their Halloween-themed dance to the sound of ‘Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)’ by Tanz Orchester Klaus Hallen.
By contrast, Paralympic star Ellie Simmonds and her partner Nikita Kuzmin failed to impress the ‘Strictly’ judges.
The duo performed the Foxtrot to ‘Scooby Doo, Where Are You?’ by David Mook and Ben Raleigh.
Their routine left Craig Revel Horwood feeling distinctly underwhelmed, but Motsi suggested it marked an improvement from previous weeks.
Ellie, 27 – who won two gold medals at the Summer Paralympics in 2008 – and Nikita were awarded a score of 29 out of 40.
Elsewhere, James Bye and his partner Amy Dowden also endured a tough night on the dance floor.
The 38-year-old actor and Amy performed the Charleston to ‘Bumble Bee’ by LaVern Baker.
Motsi praised James for allowing his personality to shine through – but she also criticised his footwork.
Ultimately, the duo were awarded a relatively meagre score of 27 out of a possible 40 points.

Dame Maureen Lipman: I could never be like my Corrie character in real life

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Maureen Lipman couldn’t be like her ‘Coronation Street’ character in real life because of cancel culture.
The 76-year-old actress has starred as battleaxe Evelyn Plummer on the ITV soap since 2018 but explained that the acid tongue of her character is a trait that could not be replicated in today’s world and that she is having to “watch herself carefully” these days.
She said: “You can’t be Evelyn in today’s climate You can’t make jokes that I would normally make. I am watching myself carefully. I am not going to be on breakfast television like someone we know telling people they can f*** off. At the same time, I am an intelligent person and I want a better world. I don’t know how I identify and I am watching carefully as to how this plays out because prejudice is prejudice, however you dress it up.”
The ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ star – who was married to playwright Jack Rosenthal from 1973 until his death in 2004 and has Amy, 48, and Adam, 41, with him – went on to describe her ‘Corrie’ character as someone who “speaks her mind” and remarked that her late husband would have “loved” to have seen her in the part.
She told The Sunday People: “I think that’s important because I think in life nobody ever speaks their minds, very rarely. I think it’s great for people to see someone who actually has no membrane between her mouth and her brain and I think everybody would like to be like that but because of social mores you can’t, so she’s a good character. I think Jack would love this character and I have known enough people in my life who are Evelyn!”

Eva Mendes was sick of being offered rubbish roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Mendes quit acting because she was sick of being offered “s****” roles.
She’s best known for appearing in ‘Hitch’ and ‘Ghost Rider’, but the Hollywood star hasn’t appeared in any blockbusters for more than a decade.
After only appearing in three projects between 2013 and 2021, speculation followed that the actress gave up Hollywood for good.
Speaking on the ‘Fitzy and Wippa’ podcast, the mum of three, who shares daughters Esmeralda Amada, eight, and Amada Lee, six with her actor husband Ryan Gosling, she addressed the claims explaining she left to focus on the family.
She said: “I would get back into acting for a great role, I took time off to be with the kids because they were just so little, our older one just turned eight.
“But it’s also because there are just some pretty s**** roles being offered to me and I’m just so sick of taking them. I was sick of it. I said ‘you know what it’s not worth it’. If I’m gonna go away for a few months, I might as well do something that’s damn good.”
Mendes recently admitted her 2014 performance in Ryan Gosling’s directing debut ‘Lost River’ was the high point in her career and she is up for anything except violence and sexuality.
She wrote on Instagram: “I never quit acting.
“I wanted to be home with my babies and fortunately my other business ventures allowed me to do that more than acting would.
“Also, I was not excited about the stereotypical roles being offered to me at the time. Especially after working on the film LOST RIVER – that was a dream project. That’s a tough act to follow. What’s the point of this post? To shift that narrative. I never quit. I have such a shortlist of what I will do.
“Like, before kids, I was kinda up for anything, you know, if it was a fun project. But now I won’t do violence. I don’t want to do sexuality. The list is short.”

Janette Manrara: Being a judge on Strictly would be amazing

OHMYGOSSIP — Janette Manrara thinks it would be “amazing” to become a judge on ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’
The 38-year-old star served as a professional dancer on the BBC Latin and ballroom competition from 2013 until 2020 and now presents spin-off show ‘Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two’ with Rylan Clark, but would “never say never” to the idea of getting a seat on the judging panel alongside the likes of Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas.
Asked if she would like to become a judge, she said: “Never say never. Don’t get me wrong, think we’ve got an amazing line-up right now. But it would be an amazing opportunity.”
Meanwhile, the former ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ star – who tied the knot with fellow ‘Strictly’ professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec in 2017 – explained that while there is “a lot of pressure” to look a certain way on television, she has learned to “care less” about her appearance on screen since she turned 30.
She told The Sunday Express’ S Magazine: “Everyone has a thing and I have mine. I forget how lucky I am to have someone like Aljaž, especially when you do a photo shoot and you’re trying on different outfits. He always makes me feel pretty – he’s done that brilliantly since day one. There’s a lot of pressure on anyone who’s on TV to look a certain way. I have felt pressure but since I turned 30 that has dwindled and the older I get, the less I care. There is a transition happening in the beauty world, and I think in television as well. Strictly is the perfect example that you can have anyone of an shape and size.
“What makes ‘Strictly’ so special is that it is so inclusive. There’s someone for everyone and it makes everyone feel seen valued and appreciated.”

Pilou Asbæk is not ‘married’ to any acting decisions on set

OHMYGOSSIP — Pilou Asbæk is “not married” to any acting decisions on set.
The 40-year-old actor stars as stalker Ethan in the new horror movie ‘Run Sweetheart Run’ – which is directed by Shana Feste and features Ella Balinska as a single mother who finds herself hunted by a monstrous assailant – and explained that he is always “open to interpretations” because he finds it “boring” to always play a character in the same way throughout every take.
He said: “Creating a character like Ethan is always interesting. It’s a collaboration between the writer, the director, your co-host, and you, and costume and settings and cinematographer, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. So you bring something to the table, and people will help you create the image that the director wants, and you take it from there. I’m not married to any decisions. I feel it’s something that happens between you and me. And I think you should be open for different interpretations, et cetera. If you do the same scene the same way 25 times, how boring is that? You know what I mean? It’s just boring. And he’s not based on anyone I met. It’s not like, ‘Oh, it’s my dad.'”
Meanwhile, the former ‘Game of Thrones’ star went on to add that he is particularly “proud” of a scene in which his character goes to prison because even though he felt “frustrated and angry and upset” when it wasn’t coming together, it ended up being one of best scenes he has ever done.
He told ScreenRant: “The scene that I’m very proud of—that’s the prison scene. There’s a scene in a prison, which I love because there are so many layers, and he’s so psychotic, but also very polite and playful and furious. The reason why the scene became like it did was because within like two hours of recording, it didn’t work. It just didn’t work. And Shana was like, ‘I don’t know if it’s the writing, if it’s the lines, it’s just not working.’ I felt so frustrated and angry and upset. I just went like, ‘Let me just take all that anger and frustration, all that mushy-mushiness, and channel it through the scene.’
“And it ended up being probably one of my favourite scenes I’ve ever done in my life.”
‘Run Sweetheart Run’ is out now on Amazon Prime Video.

Tim Burton refuses to watch his own movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Tim Burton refuses to watch his own films and compares seeing clips of his work to attending a funeral.
The director has produced memorable movies such as ‘Edward Scissorhands’, ‘Batman Returns’ and ‘Beetlejuice’ but he’s confessed he doesn’t enjoy watching the films he’s created – and actively avoids having to watch any of them back.
Speaking to Deadline.com, he explained: “I don’t really watch my movies. It was strange seeing the clips. I got quite emotional.”
He went on to explain he sees each of his movies as representing a period of time in his life so it feels strange to watch them again.
Tim added: “It feels like each film you do is part of your life and is very deep and meaningful so it’s like watching your life flashing before your eyes – that’s why I likened it to a funeral in a way, in a beautiful way, it captures moments of your life.”
It comes after the moviemaker sidestepped rumours suggesting he might be in line to direct a sequel to 1988’s ‘Beetlejuice’. When asked whether he would be involved in a new movie, he told the website: “Nothing is out of the question”.
He added: “I only know if I’m making a film when I’m actually on the set shooting. I try to go back to the root of everything. It springs from a seed and then it grows, rather than out of these statements. I am working on ideas and things but it’s all very early days. We’ll set how it goes. How’s that for a non answer?”

Harry Redknapp ‘worried’ about his wife when he went on I’m a Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Redknapp “worried” about his wife when he went on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.’
The 75-year-old football legend has been married to Sandra Harris since 1967 and has sons Mark, 52, and Jamie, 49, with her but became concerned when he took part in – and eventually won – the 2018 series of the jungle-based reality show in Australia because she had just recovered from sepsis and it was the first time she was “pushedinto the limelight.”
He said: “Sandra used to work in a hairdresser’s on Saturdays when I was playing football, which was a good thing. It meant we didn’t have to talk about the game afterwards and we could enjoy a quiet night together. We’ve never really been interested in big parties but love going out for a nice dinner. Sandra only really got pushed into the limelight when I did ‘I’m a Celebrity,’ I was worried about her when I was going in because she had just recovered from sepsis, so when I saw her in the jungle it was very emotional.”
The former West Ham manager teamed up with his wife to put pen to paper for their memoir ‘When Harry Met Sandra’ and explained that the inspiration to write the book was to raise funds for charity but joked that he is “too old” to run a marathon now and has “never won a penny” on TV game shows as he mused that he has been “very lucky” in life.
He told The Sunday Times: “We decided to write a book together as a way to raise some funds for charities. I’ve done a lot of TV shows trying to win them money but never won a penny, and I’m too old now to run a marathon. When you’ve got a big family, there’s always some problem to overcome. It’s like being a football manager every day, but we’ve been very lucky. We had nothing growing up, so we really appreciate what we’ve got. I go to the races at Ascot and wonder what my nan would think seeing me in a box.”

Omri Katz: Hocus Pocus 3 has to happen ‘sooner rather than later’

OHMYGOSSIP — Omri Katz thinks ‘Hocus Pocus 3′ has to happen “sooner rather than later”.
The 46-year-old retired actor starred as teenager Max Dennison in the 1993 fantasy movie alongside Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as a trio of witches known as the Sanderson Sisters and – even though he did not return for the 2022 sequel – explained that if any potential third movie does not surface soon, it could still work without the magical group because Bette, 78, will not want to do it in 20 years’ time.
He told Entertainment Weekly: “Who’s to say there has to be continuity in terms of the story? You can create any story. If they were to take the book and turn it into a screenplay, it doesn’t have to be the witches coming back, they can just do whatever they want, and people will be stoked to see it regardless. The witches are 30 years older, so we’ve got to get this done sooner than later. We can’t wait another 30 years. Sorry, it’s the truth! I’m sure Bette does not want to be doing this at age 98.”
However, ‘Beaches’ star Bette recently claimed that she would “of course” sign up to appear in a third instalment of the series but is unsure how it could work in terms of the story.
She said: “If there was a third one, of course, I’d sign on, but I don’t know how. I can’t imagine what the story would be, but I love Winifred, Sarah, Mary, and our relationship. It’s good for women. We stick together through hell and high water, but we do cause mayhem, and not many women cause that much mayhem!”
‘Hocus Pocus’ and ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ are both available to stream on Disney+.

James Bye becomes fifth celebrity to leave ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bye has become the fifth celebrity to leave ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 38-year-old EastEnders actor said he did his best after he was voted off the BBC show on Sunday (30.10.22) and added he felt like he has a new “family from life” in his dancer partner Amy Dowden, 32.
When asked by host Tess Daly about his time on the series, James said: “I’ve said this from the very beginning, all I can do is go out there and do my very best. I am dancing against Fleur East, I went and did my best but she is phenomenal.
“I’ve had the best time on this show and I have a friend for life (in Amy.) All I can do is thank the family, and I have a new family now. It’s a competition but you don’t feel like that backstage, you honestly feel like everyone has each other’s backs and everyone is just willing everyone to do their best!”
Amy added: “You came on here to show your boys they can throw themselves into any challenge in life, and you are the best role model they could ever have as their daddy! I am so proud of you.”
James and Amy had faced Fleur East and her dance partner Vito Coppola in the Halloween-themed dance off.
James and Amy Dowden performed their Charleston to ‘Bumble Bee’ by LaVern Baker, while Fleur and Vito danced the Salsa to ‘Break my Soul’ by Beyoncé.
After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts.
Craig Revel Horwood said: “Well, it’s my responsibility to save the better dancer and the better dancer tonight for me was Fleur and Vito.”
Motsi Mabuse also chose to save Fleur and Vito, adding: “For me, there were different levels of dancing on the dance floor, and I have decided to save Fleur and Vito.”
Her fellow judge Anton Du Beke said: “I thought both couples danced better on Saturday night. They didn’t reproduce their best performance, but it doesn’t have to be the best performance, it has to be better and I thought their performance was just good enough. Fleur and Vito.”
Head judge Shirley Ballas also said she would have saved Fleur and Vito.
Sunday’s results show opened with a routine from the Strictly professionals that told the cautionary tale of Icarus, while Rina Sawayama performed her single, ‘This Hell’.
The remaining 10 couples will next take to the dancefloor on Saturday 5 November at 7pm, with the results show on Sunday 6 November at 7:15pm on BBC One.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ekin-Su Culculoglu has proudly declared she’s made it through ‘Dancing on Ice’ training without sustaining a single injury.
The ‘Love Island’ winner is taking part in the upcoming series of the hit TV skating show and she’s been hard at work getting to grips with her moves on the ice, and Ekin-Su has boasted she’s not fallen over at all unlike some of her co-stars like Joey Essex who recently broke his fingers in a nasty tumble.
Speaking to The Mirror’s Diary column, Ekin-Su explained: “I’ve not even fallen on the floor yet. I haven’t broken a finger like Joey. I’ve not had an injury yet, which is a bit weird. I was ready to fall. It’s a bit like ballet.”
She went on to joke her ‘Love Island’ partner Davide Sanclimenti has been helping her practice, laughing: “Honey, I’m training in the bed.”
The ITV and ITVX show will be back in the new year with other stars including actress/ DJ Patsy Palmer, football legend John Fashanu and Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson among this year’s celebrity competitors.
Former ‘Coronation Street’ star Mollie Gallagher, Drag Queen and TV personality The Vivienne, TV personality Joey Essex, comedian Darren Harriott, actress and West End star Carley Stenson, singer Michelle Heaton and The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran will also be part of the programme.

This is honestly a dream come true and I can’t wait to start training on the ice. “To be the first drag artist to take part in one of the big UK reality competition shows is truly an honour. I think it’s a big step forward for queer representation on TV.”

Jeff Goldblum to play The Wizard in the Wicked movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeff Goldblum is to play The Wizard in the pair of ‘Wicked’ films.
According to Variety, the ‘Jurassic Park’ legend will join Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in the two-parter.
Pop megastar Ariana has just dyed her hair blonde ahead of shooting the flick.
The 29-year-old pop star has taken on the role of Glinda the Good Witch in the upcoming adaptation of the smash hit Broadway musical – which tells the backstory of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and explains how the witches of Oz came to be both good and wicked – and has changed her signature dark locks to blonde in an apparent effort to match her character.
Alongside a snap of her new look, she wrote on Instagram: “new earrings.”
Cynthia plays the misunderstood green girl Elphaba, while ‘Bridgerton’ star Jonathan Bailey is set to play Fiyero, who finds himself in a love triangle with the witches.
Principal photography is due to begin in London this November, and US-born superstar Ariana is said to have rented a “stunning” eight-figure mansion in the capital city to live in while she works on the project.
Director Jon M. Chu decided to make the movie into two parts because it would be “impossible” to put the complex story into a single film.
He said: “Thank you for all the support these past several months in anticipation of the ‘WICKED’ movie. Here’s what happened: as we prepared this production over the last year, it became increasingly clear that it would be impossible to wrestle the story of ‘WICKED’ into a single film without doing some real damage to it. With more space, we can tell the story of WICKED as it was meant to be told while bringing even more depth and surprise to the journeys of these beloved characters.”
‘Wicked: Part One’ is set to be released in December 2024, with the second following in 2025.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson joins The Fall Guy cast

OHMYGOSSIP — Aaron Taylor-Johnson is to star in a new movie version of ‘The Fall Guy’ alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt.
Director David Leitch is working on a big screen reimagining of the 1980s TV show which starred Lee Majors as a Hollywood stunt man who moonlights as a bounty hunter and now it’s been revealed Aaron will be joining the cast alongside previously announced stars Emily and Ryan, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The project reunites Taylor-Johnson with his ‘Bullet Train’ director Leitch.
The publication reports Taylor-Johnson will play the movie star who Ryan’s stunt man character is doubling for with Emily playing a make-up artist who had been previously romantically involved with the stunt performer.
It’s believed the new movie will focus on the stunt man’s Hollywood life rather than his side hustle as a bounty hunter but there’s a twist as the stunt man hits a snag when his film star double goes missing.
The film is said to be going into production in the coming weeks ahead of a planned March 2024 release date.
Drew Pearce, who worked with Leitch on the ‘Fast and Furious’ spin-off ‘Hobbs and Shaw’, has written the script and serves as an executive producer on the flick while Gosling is also a producer on the project.
The original series aired on ABC from 1981 to 1986 and featured Majors as a Hollywood stunt man who also works as a bounty hunter to make ends meet. Douglas Barr co-starred as his sidekick while Heather Thomas played a fellow stunt performer.

The pair tied the knot in August 2021 and had to organise the ceremony at Botleys Mansion in Surrey in just six weeks.

The ‘Geordie Shore’ star, 32, has been in a relationship with chauffeur Jake Ankers, 33, since 2021 and the pair became parents for the first time earlier this month, with Charlotte taking to social media on Monday (31.10.22) to announce the moniker to her eight million followers.

Our hearts are so full my baby girl you have shown us a whole new meaning to life. Your perfect in absolutely every way! Mammy and Daddy are so so so lucky to call you our little girl [heart emoji] you are loved so much more then you will ever know.”(sic)
Charlotte’s father Gary was the first to announce the news that the little one had arrived, as he gushed about becoming a grandfather in an “exciting new chapter” for the family.

She said: “‘I’ve never really been keen to push a baby out of my vagina. I’m too scared to have a natural birth. There’s always been something scary about it for me and when I had the ectopic pregnancy [in 2016] it scared me even more. Because I went through that horrendous time where I almost died, I know how things can go drastically wrong.”

Amy Childs is expecting twins!

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Childs is expecting twins.
The 32-year-old reality star is already mum to Polly, five, and son Ritchie, four, from previous relationships but is still in “shock” after finding out that she and her current boyfriend Billy Delbosq, 38, are two new additions to their family and initially blurted out the news to cousin and co-star Harry Derbridge because her significant other was away working.
She said: “I’m still in shock! I promise you now, I didn’t want any more children. When I met Bill I thought, ‘Do you know what, I’ll have one more.’ We are so excited – it’s going to be absolutely amazing. I was quite early [into the pregnancy] when I found out and Bill was away working.
I said to Harry ‘I feel really different’, I did a pregnancy test and it came up positive. I was like, “Oh my God, Harry, I’m pregnant!” He thought I was joking. I rang Bill straight away and I was like, “Oh my God, I’m pregnant.” He couldn’t believe it.”
The ‘TOWIE’ star went on to explain that she initially had started to think of having a baby in 2023 because both of her children would be in school by then and didn’t expect to become pregnant so quickly because she has only recently had her coil removed.
She told OK! Magazine: ” did say I’d probably like a baby next year – get Ritch going to school because he’ll be starting school in September. Sometimes you plan it, but it sometimes doesn’t work out that way. We didn’t think it would happen so quickly. I had my coil removed because I was having some complications with it, but my doctor said it takes a while for it to come out of your system. Within two months I was pregnant. I don’t think people thought I would have any more children, but since meeting Bill I’ve felt completely different.”
Meanwhile, Amy added that having a child of each gender would be “the dream” and the pair have already “decided on a few names” to choose from when the twins arrive.
Asked if she intends to find out the genders of the babies, she added: “Definitely. We need to be really organised. As long as they’re healthy and happy. But Polly is my best friend so imagine having two girls identical – amazing. A boy and a girl would be perfect. That would be our dream. We have decided on a few names, but I think when the babies get here, we’ll know. We don’t want to give too much away because we’ll probably change our minds. I like Prudence. I always said I want two children, but now I’ll be having four it’s going to be perfect. My family is so complete now!”

Henry Cavill insisted it was ‘essential’ Superman return offered ‘hope and joy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Henry Cavill insists it is “essential” his Superman offers “hope, optimism and joy”.
The 39-year-old actor recently confirmed that he is returning as the legendary superhero in a new movie after making a brief cameo in ‘Black Adam’ and though he can’t say much about what’s in store for the Man of Steel, he’s happy to be back.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Right now I can’t really talk about anything.
“What I do want is hope, optimism and joy. Those three things are essential in a character.”
Before returning to the comic book saga, Henry will next be seen as Sherlock Holmes again in the ‘Enola Holmes’ sequel and he admitted he was glad to be back in the “feel-good franchise, which stars Millie Bobby Brown in the lead role.
He said: “It’s fun. It feels good to watch the movie, even though there is a very real and important message which is within the story. The story itself is fun to watch and Enola is enormous fun to watch, and that’s easy to connect to.”
Asked if he’d return for a third outing as Sherlock, he said: “Only time will tell.”
Henry recently admitted he “never gave up hope” he’d be asked to make another Superman film.
He said: “The character means so much to me. It’s been five years now. I never gave up hope.
“It’s amazing to be here now talking about it again. There is such a bright future ahead for the character. I’m so excited to tell a story with an enormously joyful Superman.”
Henry explained that he got the call to shoot his cameo in ‘Black Adam’ while he was filming for the TV series ‘The Witcher’ and he had to ask for permission to take a break from the project while keeping his Superman return a secret.
He recalled: “I went to Warner Bros.’ studio in the UK and got back in the suit.
“It was a very powerful moment for me. I wasn’t sure how I would feel… whether it would be something very emotionally connective because I put the ‘Man of Steel’ suit back on.
“I chose that one in particular because of the nostalgia attached to the suit. It was important for me to be standing there and enjoying the moment. That is one of the top moments in my career. It feels great to have the opportunity to wear it again.”
