Fleur East was allowed to restart Strictly Come Dancing routine after unaired fall

OHMYGOSSIP — Fleur East restarted her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ routine after a fall which wasn’t shown on screen.
The 35-year-old star found herself in the dance off last week and was able to start her Salsa again after she fell and took her professional partner Vito Coppola down to the ground with her.
As reported by The Sun newspaper, the pair were seen to by medics in the studio and were allowed to restart the routine.
They were then voted through by judges Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas, with ‘EastEnders’ star James Bye getting eliminated.
A source told the outlet: “It was a deeply unfortunate incident, and not Fleur or Vito’s fault at all.”
It’s said the pair “landed incredibly hard”, with the second version of the dance being shown on air with “no reference to the fall” made during the broadcast.
The insider added: “To be fair, James wasn’t bothered at all – he genuinely believed she was the better dancer on the night.”
As usual, the dance-off was pre-recorded on the Saturday night (29.10.22) and aired the following evening.
A BBC spokesperson has said: “After an incident with a prop at the beginning of Fleur and Vito’s dance-off performance, the decision was made to halt proceedings to check they were not injured.
“As they had not begun to dance before the incident occurred, it was decided they could start the performance again, once it was confirmed they were fit to do so.”
Meanwhile, the former ‘X Factor’ star has admitted she has “no idea” why she’s twice found herself in the bottom two.
She recently said: “‘I have no idea why I’m in the bottom two – it’s out of my hands, out of my control. All I can do is rehearse every week and do my best, have the most fun and that’s what I’m doing. All I hope is that we do enough this week to get through but it is getting so tough.
“We’re halfway now, halfway through the competition and everyone’s so good and everyone’s working really hard.”

Disney’s live action Hercules takes inspiration from TikTok

OHMYGOSSIP — Disney’s live action ‘Hercules’ will be inspired by TikTok.
Producer brothers Joe and Anthony Russo – who directed ‘Avengers: Endgame’ but don’t expect to work with Marvel “until the end of the decade” due to their independent studio AGBO – are teaming up with Disney on the Guy Ritchie-led reboot of the classic animated movie, which will also be a musical.
Speaking to Variety, Joe said: “There are questions about how you translate it as a musical.
“Audiences today have been trained by TikTok, right? What is their expectation of what that musical looks like and feels like?
“That can be a lot of fun and help us push the boundaries a little bit on how you execute a modern musical.”
The original movie – which was helmed by ‘The Little Mermaid’ filmmakers John Musker and Ron Clements – reimagined the story of the Greek demigod and presented him as a celebrity rising to fame because of his heroic acts.
Although some of Disney’s recent live action remakes have been criticised for being too close to the originals, Joe has insisted that won’t be the case, with ‘Hercules’ promising to be “a little bit more experimental in tone, a little bit more experimental in execution”.
He added: “I think they’re excited to see what we can all bring to it in a way that isn’t just a reinterpretation of the animated film.”
Ritchie is working on his own take on the screenplay by David Callaham, and Joe insisted the ‘Aladdin’ filmmaker is “perfect for it because he has penchant for experimentation”, while the Russos are looking to build on their longtime partnership with Disney, who own the Marvel franchise.
He said: “We have an amazing relationship with them that we’ve built over a decade.
“I think we have a point of view on how they can stretch the limits of their IP moving forward, rather than playing IP management.”

Anne Hathaway admits a The Devil Wears Prada sequel is ‘tempting’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway admits a ‘ The Devil Wears Prada’ sequel is “tempting” – but unlikely.
Despite there being another book, ‘Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns’, released in 2013, seven years after the comedy-drama flick’s release, the Hollywood star doesn’t believe a follow-up could be made today.
Appearing on ‘The View’ this week, she said: “I don’t know if there can be [a sequel movie].
“I just think that movie was in a different era, you know? Now, everything’s gone so digital, and that movie centered around the concept of producing a physical thing. It’s just very different now.”
Anne would love to see where her character Andy and Emily (Emily Blunt) would be now, the assistants to Meryl Streep’s hellish magazine editor alter ego Miranda.
She continued: “Although, it is tempting to think about Andy and Emily needing to get Miranda her coffee and she’s somewhere in Europe. And then along the way they pick up Stanley Tucci [Nigel] in Italy, who’s at a restaurant. It’s tempting, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen.”
The 39-year-old star could, however, see it being rebooted with a new cast.
She suggested: “But they could relaunch it. They could find new people and do it. Do you think they’d let us do that?”

Freya Skye will represent the UK in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

OHMYGOSSIP — Freya Skye will represent the UK at the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
The 13-year-old singer feels “so lucky” to be representing the UK in Armenia next month, which marks the first time the UK has taken part in the competition for 15 years.
She said in a statement: “I feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to be a part of something so exciting”.
The broadcaster revealed Freya was chosen for the performance on December 11 because of her “genuine star quality” via a process involving CBBC along with the entertainment and music division of BBC Studios.
Her song ‘Lose My Head’ – which is about friendships, moving on and leaving things in the past – was brought to life by people who have collaborated with huge international stars such as Ava Max, Pharrell Williams and rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
The UK previously participated in the competition from 2003 to 2005 while Wales – through the Welsh language broadcaster S4C – sent an entry in 2018 and 2019.
However, Freya’s foray into Junior Eurovision marks the BBC’s inaugural hand in the children’s version – where entrants must be between the ages of nine and 14 – of the competition.
The adult version will be hosted in Liverpool in 2023 after Ukraine – who snagged victory with Kalush Orchestra’s track ‘Stefania’ – was deemed unable to hold the show due to the ongoing war and the UK came in second with Sam Ryder, who performed his track, ‘Space Man’.
Patricia Hidalgo, the BBC Children and Education director said: “Freya is an amazing talent and she immediately stood out. Her voice is incredible, so we knew she would be able to showcase such a big song. She’s also a very special, self-effacing young lady who will be a great ambassador for the UK.”

I’m A Celebrity bosses promise format shakeup for launch episode

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ bosses have promised a shakeup to the format for its opening episode.
The ITV reality show – which is hosted by Ant and Dec – returns to Australia this weekend and executive producer Olly Nash has revealed the jungle campmates will be slit into three groups instead of two, and they’ll face more challenges than ever before.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s much bigger than we’ve ever done before. We’re filming more [challenges] than we’ve ever filmed before…
“There’ll be more elements lasting over more shows than has happened before too, so it’s not all just going to be limited to show one.”
And he warned that “not all celebrities will be here in camp at the end of Sunday’s show”.
Typically, two separate teams find themselves competing for more luxurious digs, and the team that loses has more basic rations.
Nash added: “The contestants will be coming into camp in three groups, in stages. The first three celebrities will be followed by another three celebrities and they will get the pick of the beds.
“We have bunk beds which is a first for ‘I’m A Celebrity’ and then we have a Luxury RV that was driven through the jungle about 35 years ago, broke down and was never moved.
“That will make a very comfy home for two people inside there.”
For the series as a whole, there is also set to be a total of 24 Bushtucker Trials, and more two-player tasks than ever before.
‘I’m a Celeb’ returns on Sunday (06.11.22), when pop icon Boy George, ‘Coronation Street’ star Sue Cleaver, ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Owen Warner, former England rugby player Mike Tindall, radio presenter Chris Moyles, England Lioness Jill Scott, comedian Babatunde Aleshe, former ‘Love Island’ star Olivia Attwood, and TV presenters Charlene White and Scarlette Douglas will enter the camp Down Under.
Meanwhile, politician Matt Hancock is also set to join them.

Ben Fogle urges I’m A Celebrity bosses to ‘respect’ nature

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Fogle urges ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ bosses to “respect” nature.
The ‘Lost Worlds’ presenter wants the ITV reality show – which is coming back for a new series on Sunday (06.11.2022) with stars such as ex ‘Love Island’ star Olivia Atwood, Radio X DJ Chris Moyles and 80s pop icon Boy George – to come up with other ways to make campmates “suffer” that doesn’t involve terrorising creepy crawlies.
The 49-year-old broadcaster told the Daily Star newspaper: “I hope ‘I’m A Celebrity’ will reinforce that we should respect and marvel at wildlife. There’s plenty of ways of making celebrities suffer.
“How we treat one species should be our attitude to all flora and fauna. A lot of kids watch that show. Sticking a live animal in your mouth, I struggle to see what message that is giving to youngsters.
“The suggestion that one animal is more important than another and we should be scared of insects. Why is a dog more important than a cockroach or spider? I’d like to see how we treat animals being more considered.”
Ben – who has daughter Iona, 11, and son Ludovic, 12, with his wife Marina, 44 – admitted to “rarely” eating meat himself unless it’s the respectful thing to do when making a documentary.
He said: “I rarely eat meat. If I am filming one of my shows, and that’s how people live, I do.”
And The UN Patron of the Wilderness tries to use his telly work to show that nature “are not all scary”.
He added: “But as an animal lover with dogs, I’ve tried to show on my shows that wild animals are not all scary.”
The Ant and Dec-fronted competition show – which is returning to Australia after two years being filmed in north Wales’ Gwrych Castle due to COVID-19 – has been facing backlash for casting disgraced former health secretary Matt Hancock and his reported fee of £400,000.
A rep for the member of parliament – who had the Conservative whip removed for his decision – defended the move as he will “making a donation” to various causes.
They said: “Matt will be making a donation to St Nicholas Hospice in Suffolk and causes supporting dyslexia off the back of his appearance. He will also declare the amount he receives from the show to Parliament to ensure complete transparency, as normal.”

Tilly Ramsay reveals scariest part of joining dad Gordon on Uncharted Showdown

OHMYGOSSIP — Tilly Ramsay was terrified of bullet ants during ‘Uncharted Showdown’.
The 20-year-old star – whose father is celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay – is set to take on her famous dad on a special episode of his new three part National Geographic series, which will see them face off in the finale in a culinary showdown in Costa Rica.
Reflecting on the experience, she said: “I was terrified of those bullet ants; if you put your hand in one place for too long they could bite you really easily and everyone was telling me it was so painful, like you’ve been shot.
“It was genuine fear in those situations. What else could come out of the wildlife – there’s snakes and spiders? There’s such a big terrain but we don’t have people clearing the way or making it safe.
“Obviously there are people around us, but there was no sugarcoating – you really are in the thick of it.”
Another key part of the show is the competitive edge between father and daughter, and the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star admitted their interactions aren’t put on for the cameras.
She added: “It’s very genuine. We can be competitive over the smallest things. I think it’s because we’re so similar and we both love winning so much that it’s so super natural to have that against each other – and it does cause for good fun.
“Whenever we have a little competition against each other it always gets interesting. So it’s always a laugh with him.”
At one point in the show, Gordon playfully splashes Tilly with some water, and she admitted they have a “super close” bond.
She explained: “We are so playful together, we do this sort of thing all the time. It’s just friendly banter, and he knows I can take it. I know if I did it to him, he could take it.
“It’s just another thing to rile me up so I have the mindset that I really want to beat him. We’re like that at home; we kick water or throw sand.
“We get on each other’s nerves but it in a good way. We share the same birthday, so we’re super close in lots of ways – almost like the same person in many ways.
“That also ties into the competitiveness – we both want to win so much.”
Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted Showdown airs on National Geographic from Wednesday 9th November at 8pm, including Gordon Ramsay Vs. Tilly Ramsay finale special on 23rd November.

Jennifer Lawrence drops out of Bad Blood

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lawrence has dropped out of ‘Bad Blood’.
The 32-year-old actress had been due to play the Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes but decided to exit the role after watching Amanda Seyfried’s Emmy-winning portrayal in the miniseries ‘The Dropout’.
The news was announced on Twitter by The New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan on Wednesday (02.11.22) after he interviewed the ‘Hunger Games’ star.
He wrote on the social media platform: “Jennifer Lawrence will no longer star as Elizabeth Holmes in Adam McKay’s ‘BAD BLOOD’, she told me.
“She came to that conclusion after watching Amanda Seyfried play Holmes in ‘The Dropout’: “I thought she was terrific. I was like, ‘Yeah, we don’t need to redo that.’ She did it.”
Lawrence had been due to star in and produce with McKay writing and directing. The pair previously worked together on the film ‘Don’t Look Up’.
The feature is based on journalist John Carreyrou’s 2018 book ‘Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup’ and charts how Holmes built Theranos before her success unravelled.
Holmes was convicted of fraud in 2018 and was found guilty earlier this year of three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
She faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for each count of fraud.
Meanwhile, Jennifer has confirmed that she is to star in the film ‘Die, My Love’.
The movie is an intimate portrayal of a woman in rural France who is driven to insanity amid marriage and motherhood.
Lynne Ramsay is directing the movie and Martin Scorsese will produce the project. It is based on the book of the same name by Ariana Harwicz.

Mark Strong joins The Silent Hour

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Strong has joined the cast of ‘The Silent Hour’.
The 59-year-old star will feature alongside Joel Kinnaman in the action thriller that is being directed by Brad Anderson.
The crime drama will be set in Boston and will see Kinnaman star as a police detective who suffers a workplace accident that leaves him with impaired hearing.
16 months later – as an interpreter for the police department – he and his partner (Strong) battle a team of corrupt officers trying to eliminate a deaf murder witness in an apartment building.
The script has been written by Dan Hall and production is due to begin in early 2023.
Stuart Ford’s ACG Studios are to finance and produce the film with Eric Paquette’s Meridan Pictures.
Strong previously revealed that he missed out on the chance to play a James Bond villain after a boozy night with future 007 Daniel Craig – who he starred alongside in the TV series ‘Our Friends in the North’.
The ‘Shazam!’ star recalled: “I was up for a villain in one of the Pierce Brosnan films – I can’t remember which – and I had learnt my lines.
“And I was quite cocky about that. Because when I started out auditioning, you didn’t learn your lines, you just read them with the director.
“But the night before, I went out for a drink with Danny – this was way before he was Bond. And unfortunately, I had a bit too much to drink.”
Mark appeared alongside George Clooney in the 2005 film ‘Syriana’ and explained that he was terrified of unleashing violence on the Hollywood star, who ended up hurting his back in the scene.
He said: “There was a great responsibility attached to it and he actually did his back in when he chose to fall into shot still tied to the chair.
“I met him years later, thinking I’d been responsible, but he absolved me.”

Great British Bake Off’s Janusz Domagala addresses ‘missing spring roll’ drama

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Great British Bake Off’ star Janusz Domagala doesn’t know where his missing spring roll went.
The 34-year-old personal assistant took to social media with Prime Ministerial flair to provide a tongue-in-cheek update about the whereabouts of his AWOL baked good – which was part of the technical challenge of eight spring rolls and a dipping sauce given by judges Dame Prue Leith, 82, and Paul Hollywood, 56 – that sparked mass confusion as to its whereabouts on the Channel 4 baking show.
In a video posted to TikTok on Wednesday (02.11.2022), he said behind a Downing Street backdrop : “People of Britain. As a result of the recent events that took place in the tent last night, I stand before you as a mostly honest man, to discuss the missing spring roll.
“Firstly, I would like to apologise to you, the people who live in my phone. Secondly, I would like to explain what happened. I don’t know what happened! I think I definitely made eight spring rolls but clearly only seven were fried.”
Janusz hoped the broadcast gave the matter the required “clarity and closure” so it could be put to bed.
He said: “Safe to say, Prue thought they looked so good she may have eaten one raw. Who knows? I hope this offers some clarity and closure to spring roll-gate and that the people of Britain and the whole wide world can sleep again.”
Janusz – who still managed to snag second in the technical – will bake again in the semi-final of the Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding-fronted show alongside Syabira, Abdul and Sandro after Maxy was sent packing after what Prue deemed to be a disappointing week in the tent on Tuesday (01.11.2022).
Upon her departure, the 29-year-old architect said: “It’s really sad to go but I’m happy and I’m proud i made it this far.”

Gordon Ramsay still hasn’t met daughter Tilly’s boyfriend but she’s not scared to introduce them

OHMYGOSSIP — Gordon Ramsay still hasn’t met daughter Tilly’s boyfriend – but it’s happening “soon”.
The TV chef – whose 20-year-old daughter joins him on new National Geographic series ‘Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted Showdown’ – is yet to meet her beau, but she’s not scared of the moment he does get to chat to her mystery partner.
She said: “I am in a relationship but dad hasn’t met him just yet. I’m really enjoying spending some time with them. But dad’s going to meet him soon.
“Dad’s great in that kind of situation. He loves to be this big, scary person. But really, he’s just as friendly to anyone that any of us bring home. so it’s great.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star insisted while some people might think her father is “scary” and “shouty” after seeing him in shows like ‘Hell’s Kitchen’, the real man is a world away from that.
She explained: “Lots of people think dad is a scary, shouty person because they’ve seen him like it on television.
“But really, as soon as you meet him or you’re in the same room as him, you realise he’s genuinely a massive softy – he’s like a teddy bear.
“All he wants to do is have fun and goof around. Yes, when he’s in the zone in a kitchen, he can be assertive and tell you what he needs done, but I guess that’s like everyone in the work space – he’s not how he comes across.”
It means she hasn’t picked up any of her dad’s infamous “colourful language” because he’s a very different person when he’s at home with his family.
She added: “The funny thing is that’s just dad in a kitchen situation in a working environment – he’s never ever going to be like that at home.
“I like to be careful of my colourful language, not that I really have any, especially at home because I’ve got a younger brother.
“So no, I think because that doesn’t come across at home from dad, no one’s like that.”

Helen Skelton says ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is ‘like being in Disneyland’

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Skelton has compared ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ to “being in Disneyland”.
The BBC Radio 5 Live DJ gushed over her gratitude to be involved with the “one in a lifetime opportunity” to compete for the Glitterball trophy on the BBC One Latin and ballroom competition – which is judged by Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke – and compared it to the so-called Happiest Place on Earth.
The 39-year-old broadcaster told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m just really grateful to be involved. ‘Strictly’ is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s like being in Disneyland.”
Helen – who has sons Ernie, seven, Louis, five, and 10-month-old daughter Elise with her ex Richie Myler, 32, who is now expecting a baby with his new girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill, 32 – believes she is like any other “working parent” but her job is a bit more glam.
She said: “I’m no different to any working parent. Every working parent has things to manage and things to juggle. The only difference is my work is a ridiculously shiny, glittery experience where someone paints your face and makes you thinner.”
The ‘Countryfile’ presenter praised her professional partner Gorka Marquez while calling herself “very lucky” to be learning from him.
Helen – who is competing with the likes of Will Mellor and Fleur East- labelled the 32-year-old pro “a world-class dancer who spends all day teaching me how to dance. I’m very lucky, every bit is joyous”.
She continued: “I knew it would be good. I didn’t know it would be this good. I can see why when people are in it. They gush about the team, experience and how keen they are to stay in. I totally get that. Before I came into it, I thought ‘oh yeah, it’ll be nice’. But it’s literally like being in Disneyland.”

Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec reveal family plans and TV project goals

OHMYGOSSIP — Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec would love to land a presenting role together.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ stars – who first met in 2010 and joined the show together three years later before tying the knot in 2017 – have opened up about their plans and admitted they are making sure to “hone” their skills in case the right offer comes in.
Speaking to Prima magazine, Janette said: “We’d love to. We both enjoy presenting as we’re natural entertainers and we love talking to people.
“One of our favourite sayings is. ‘When opportunity and preparation meet, it equals success.’
“So it’s important for us to prepare and hone our skills so that if we ever do get offered our own show, we’ll be ready.”
Meanwhile, the loved up couple are also keen to start a family one day, although they’re not rushing into anything at the moment.
Janette added: “We believe in leaving it up to the universe and taking whatever we’re blessed with.
“We want to be parents and can’t wait for the day that comes, but we’re not putting pressure on how, when and in what capacity that will be.”
Having met before they joined the show, the pair were delighted to get to dance together during their time working on the BBC series, and Aljaž was particularly moved when his wife returned to the show for his own exit.
He recalled: “We both loved our celebrity partners, but dancing with Janette on ‘Strictly’ added a different dimension.
“Last year, Janette had already left the show and I was about to leave, but we danced one final duet during Ed Sheeran’s performance.
“I remember looking to my left and seeing my wife holding my hand as we stood alongside one of the world’s biggest singers, and thinking ‘What have I done to deserve this?’ ”

Henry Cavill recalls tough Mission: Impossible – Fallout scene

OHMYGOSSIP — Henry Cavill’s toughest scene was in ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’.
The 39-year-old actor played August Walker in the sixth installment of the Tom Cruise-led action franchise and explained how a helicopter stunt was harder than anything he has done as Superman.
Henry told Collider: “Even though it’s not a single shot, it’s a sequence, and I love the sequence and I would do it again in a heartbeat, but physically the most enduring was a ‘Mission: Impossible’ helicopter sequence.
“It was so extremely cold, literally above the Southern Alps in winter, with the doors open on a helicopter. I’m sticking my face into the wind and firing blanks, with all sorts of stuff flying back at me, and just doing it over, and over, and over again. Completely deaf, just waiting for the pilot to scream something inaudible and do this (gesture), which meant we are rolling.”
The ‘Enola Holmes’ star added: “So I had to then just keep on acting with my head out the window until I assumed that they had stopped shooting. So I was watching either Tom’s helicopter in front or behind, and watching the camera ship as well, to see when the camera ship pulled away and did its own thing.”
Henry explained how he had to perform the scene a number of times over several weeks but it turned out to be “worth it” in the end.
He recalled: “I’ll do that for 40 minutes, then land, and then sit by a little Rad Rad heater, warm my hands up. Within half an hour they’re like, ‘Right, we’re refuelled. Let’s go again’.
“It was just having to suck it up and do that for at least two weeks. That was rough, but I absolutely loved the sequence, and it was so worth it.”
