Titanic voted the best film to see in the cinema

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Titanic’ has been voted the “best” film to see in the cinema.
The 1997 blockbuster – which was directed by James Cameron and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as a pair of star-crossed lovers aboard the ill-fated ship – was found to offer the best cinematic experience to viewers, in a new survey conducted by OnePoll between 1st and 3rd November 2022 on behalf of newly relaunched BFI IMAX, followed closely by ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘Avatar.’
The research also found that four in 10 Brits feel regret after watching a blockbuster at home instead of on the big screen and that half of Brits feel more immersed and connected to blockbusters when watched at the cinema because they get distracted by their phone when using a streaming service such as Netflix or Disney+.
A spokesperson from BFI IMAX said: “Some of the top filmmakers identified in this list – [Christopher ] Nolan, [Peter] Jackson, [James] Cameron,[Steven] Spielberg – are among directors who are masters of their craft in maximizing use of the screen and the soundscape in their films, to deliver an experience which can only truly be appreciated in cinemas. Filmmakers have demonstrated that cinema is one of the best mediums for delivering everything from the smallest-scale tales, right up to world-beating blockbusters.”
The representative went on to add that the new IMAX experience becomes “more than a night out” and allows moviegoers to enjoy films in the way the directors intended.
They added: “More than a night out and a chance to see the biggest films released in the way their directors intended, the cinema offers a chance to enjoy films without the distractions of home. Our recently relaunched BFI IMAX, with state-of-the-art technical upgrades, is designed to be the most immersive cinema experience yet, so you can get the most out of your visit, and be pulled right into the action.”

Kym Marsh almost quit Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh almost quit ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 46-year-old actress revealed a crippling panic attack during rehearsals which with her professional partner Graziano Di Prima, 28, almost led to her pulling out of the BBC dance show.
She told The Sun newspaper: “It just came over me, almost out of nowhere, and I couldn’t carry on.
“I’ve always suffered from panic attacks. It’s something I don’t mind talking about because I know it can affect anyone at any time.
“Sometimes it has been ages (since an attack) and then suddenly one just hits.
“Everyone thinks that because you’re on the telly you must be amazingly confident, but the truth is that I’m not always and this is how that comes out.
“I don’t know exactly what caused it, I think I’d had some harsh comments from the judges the week before, I’ve been working other jobs at the same time too, so it’s tiring, and I just lost my confidence completely.
” I went to pieces and said ‘I don’t think I can do this’.
“At that moment I wasn’t sure I could even carry on with the show.
It’s hard to explain, you don’t see it coming. I’ve had therapy for anxiety and tried things like that but it can still just creep up, usually just when you could most do without it.
“There were a lot of tears, and a few of the other guys had to step in to help me and they cancelled the rehearsal at that point.
“Everyone was great in the crew and the production, Hamza (Yassin, wildlife presenter and fellow contestant) was especially kind.
“He just calmed me down and tried to remind me ‘We’re only dancing’.”
Kym also praised her dance partner Graziano for helping her get through the panic attack.
She said: “It was Graziano who really pulled me through.
“He’s just the most incredible man and we’ve got really close, even though he had no idea who I was beforehand.
“Now he comes over to our house once a week for dinner.”

Boy George’s sister flying to Australia to support him on jungle exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Boy George’s sister is flying to Australia to support him when he leaves the jungle.
The star’s sibling Siobhan – who lives with their mother Dinah – admitted it had been hard to watch her brother breaking down in tears on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ after Matt Hancock – who served as Health Secretary during the COVID-19 pandemic – entered the jungle.
Boy George was upset to see Matt, as he blames him for how the government handled the COVID-19 pandemic, during which time the singer’s mother Dinah was ill in hospital and he was not allowed to visit her.
Siobhan told The Sun newspaper: “I’m so proud of George, he said how we all felt [on Wednesday] and it was hard to see him so upset.
“I will be there waiting for him when he comes out. Mum and I are cheering him on every night.”
Dinah previously said: “He is always there for me so his reaction wasn’t a surprise. And I’m waiting to hug him when he gets home.”
George’s close friend and manager Paul Kemsley, added: “The foundation of him and everything he has ever been is his mother. He couldn’t be closer to her.
“He was in a terrible state when his mother was ill. It is the most scared and saddest I’ve ever seen him, no question.
“There have obviously been other traumas but none so emotionally driven.
“I spoke to him every day then. I remember he rang me sobbing and I got a fright and said what’s wrong and he said I think it’s COVID – she’s in the hospital.
“As a manager our job is always to try to fix everything but then someone you love rings and presents a situation that you can’t fix all you can do is offer comfort.
“George will not be bullied or manipulated by Matt but there’s a big trauma there for him so he’ll have to process that.”

Seth Rogen’s ‘deeply personal’ Ninja Turtles movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Seth Rogen says his new ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ movie will be “deeply personal”.
The 40-year-old actor is proud of the script for the upcoming movie and insisted that it won’t be just a typical action film.
In an interview with The AV Club, Seth said: “We found a way to make it deeply personal. It’s a teenage movie, we’re putting a lot of our own feelings — of awkwardness and insecurity and a desire to belong and be accepted and all that — into the movie.
“And as I sit around with the other people working on [the film], I’m like, ‘We found a way to care about this,’ which is great.
“‘Ninja Turtles’ is something I loved as a kid. We have a lot more things like that that we’re working on, this ‘Darkwing Duck’ show and things like that. That becomes a fun part of the challenge: How do you infuse more and more of yourself into your work? I think the more of yourself you put in, the more people like it.
Seth will produce ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’, which will be animated.
Speaking previously about the film, Seth said: “As a lifelong fan of ‘Ninja Turtles’, weirdly the ‘Teenage’ part of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ was always the part that stuck out to me the most. The idea of kind of honing in on that element was really exciting to us. I mean, not disregarding the rest, but really using that as kind of a jumping off point for the film.”

Ferne McCann says she is the subject of a harassment campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Ferne McCann says she is the subject of a “harassment campaign designed to intimidate and discredit” her.
A representative for the 32-year-old reality TV star spoke out after voice notes from the reality TV star were released, which feature Ferne reportedly mocking the appearance Sophie Hall, who was the victim of an acid attack by Ferne’s ex Arthur Collins.
A spokesperson for Ferne told The Sun newspaper: “These voice messages are part of a wider harassment campaign designed to intimidate and discredit Ferne.
“They are subject to an ongoing investigation being carried out by Essex Police.
“As such, Ferne is unable to comment other than to say she offers her deepest sympathies for the distress and hurt this situation is causing Ms Hall.”
A source close to Ferne previously said: “The person releasing the private voice recordings is trying to destroy Ferne.
“It isn’t just hurting Ferne, it’s hurting the people being talked about. Ferne’s very aware of that.
“The truth is that Ferne has huge sympathy with Arthur’s victims and what they’ve been through. She admires their courage.
“The police are continuing their investigation into the leaker.”
Sophie previously said: “Why should anyone who has been so cruel be given the platform to tear others down?
“ITV don’t just need to take action for my sake, but for other leaked voice notes.
“The ones which were body shaming and so unkind.
Ferne herself has said before that she struggles with her own appearance. So to be commenting on how someone else looks — regardless if it was never meant to be heard — is wrong.
“My friends and family are as horrified as I am. They have been incredibly supportive.
“I would ask Ferne, ‘What have I ever done to you? Why are you targeting me, when all I’ve been trying to do is make a positive out of a terrible and traumatic experience that I sincerely hope no one ever has to go through in their lifetime?’.”

Fleur East tops Strictly leaderboard

OHMYGOSSIP — Fleur East and Vito Coppola have topped the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard.
The 35-year-old pop star is currently taking part in the BBC ballroom competition with professional Vito, 30, and the pair reached the top of the scoreboard on Saturday (12.11.22) night with a total of 39 points following their Samba routine set to Arrow hit ‘Hot Hot Hot’ .
After the performance, Fleur said: “I really did work hard. We take the feedback every week, we write it down, we go to rehearsals and we work on every part. It means so much to get feedback from all of those amazing judges. It has all paid off. Vito is amazing. He said my arms had to be connected [to his] like a snake and I had to be like a crab when I was going to the side. He loves animals!”
Judge Craig Revel Horwood is confident the dance will be enough to get them to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom next week.
He remarked: “If that dance doesn’t get you to Blackpool, darling, I don’t know what will!”
Craig’s fellow judge Motsi Mabuse explained through tears that she was “so proud” of the former ‘X Factor’ star while head judge Shirley Ballas labelled the Samba as one of the “best” she has ever seen.
Motsi said: “I am so proud of you right now, I am so so proud of you. You did your work, you did everything and you put everything on that dance floor and that Samba deserves absolutely everything.”
Shirley said: “Well, Fleur, you have taken constructive weeks from me over the beginning but you have mastered your craft. You have shown what powerful dancing with beautiful control is all about. Vito, you mixed open choreography with closed choreography. It was absolutely by far one of the best sambas I’ve ever seen in my life.”
In joint second with a total of 38 points each were CBeebies star Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystał – who danced to Master KG hit ‘Jerusalema’ – alongside ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ star Will Mellor, who danced the Waltz to classic soul song ‘Three Times a Lady’ with Nancy Xu.
At the other end of the leaderboard were former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Kym Marsh – who scored 34 for her American Smooth routine with Graziano Di Prima set to Snow Patrol song ‘Chasing Cars’ – and football legend Tony Adams, who crashed into last place with a score of 24 for his efforts dancing the Jive to ‘Land of a Thousand Dances’ with Katya Jones.

Matt Hancock to face fifth I’m A Celeb trial

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Hancock is to face his fifth consecutive trial on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.’
The 44-year-old politician – who served as the UK’s Health Secretary during the COVID-19 pandemic – is controversially taking part in the ITV jungle reality show and has been voted by the public to face yet another Bushtucker trial during Sunday’s (13.11.22) episode of the survival series.
After the news was delivered by Ant and Dec, Matt’s campmate Babatunde Aleshe declared: “You are the man, you are the man! You’ve done four trials, you got stung by a scorpion and now you’ve got to do this trial!”
Earlier in the show, Matt had teamed up with ‘Hollyoaks’ star Owen Warner to compete in a version of ITV game show ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ titled ‘Who Wants to Look Silly On Air?’ – which saw them attempt to answer questions to win meals for camp while being pelted with odorous debris – but the two only managed to secure five stars, totalling five meals to be shared amongst the 11 celebrities in the camp.
Matt – who scored a total of 11 stars during Friday’s eating trial – commented: “Everyone has been really nice about it but nevertheless, five stars. There’s room for improvement.”
Following the trial, Owen said: “All I know is we stink and we looked ridiculous. We smell so bad! I don’t wanna talk about how many stars we got, we only got five. I feel very deflated. I’m not the smartest geezer about which is why I feel like I got put to do that. I feel a bit bad that I’ve let the campmates down a bit.”
‘Loose Women’ anchor Charlene White – who joined the other campmates including the likes of Boy George, ‘Coronation Street’ actress Sue Cleaver and radio star Chris Moyles on the sidelines of the trial – was seen moaning in The Bush Telegraph following the poor result.
She said: “We didn’t do too well with the stars, did we? We only got five. That’s less than half!”
The famous faces received wild boar rump for their dinner and ITV newsreader Charlene – who has become the usual camp chef – gave the responsibility of cooking to Owen because he had earned the meat in the first place.
He said: “To be honest, I’m struggling to picture what a boar looks like. I know it’s like a sort of cow, isn’t it? I diced, I sliced, I stirred, I fried. I was head chef tonight, boy!”
Elsewhere, Ant and Dec closed out the show by revealing that in tomorrow’s episode, two stars will battle it out to become leader of the camp and viewers have until 10:30pm on Saturday to cast their votes on who the pair will be.
Dec said: “We need your votes again because it’s time for you to choose a camp leader. The two celebrities with the most votes will go head-to-head in a challenge and the winner will take the throne!”

Sam Mendes honours cinematographers on speech

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Mendes paid tribute to the cinematographers he’s worked with and sent support to Ukraine when he was honoured over the weekend.
The ‘Skyfall’ director accepted the Special Krzysztof Kieslowski Award during the opening ceremony of the 30th Energa Camerimage international cinematography film festival in Poland but admitted it was “difficult to speak of celebration” after seeing images and hearing accounts from those in the war-torn country that were shown during the event.
He said: “I made a movie (‘1917’) with Roger [Deakins] about two young men caught up in a senseless war. The question I got asked over and over again is, ‘Is this relevant?’ I’m afraid to say, it is and it will always be. We stand with everyone in Ukraine.”
Sam then went on to acknowledge the cinematographers who he worked with, beginning with the late Conrad Hall, who won Oscars for his work on the director’s first two films, ‘American Beauty’ and ‘Road to Perdition’.
He said: “Conrad was my guide, and ever since Conrad, cinematographers always have been my guide.”
Of his partnership with Roger, he said their 15-year working relationship has ” given [him] more pleasure and more joy than any collaboration that [he] ever had in movies.”
Their latest collaboration is ‘Empire of Light’ and Sam said of the film: “On the wall of the cinema, right at the beginning of the film, is written, ‘Find Where Light in Darkness Lies.’ That is all of our jobs. It’s the work of the cinematographer, and it my great pleasure to have shed some tiny light in the dark.”
Elsewhere at the event, Alex Gibney also paid tribute to the people of Ukraine as he picked up the award for outstanding achievement in documentary filmmaking.
He said: “What’s so important about Camerimage, is the notion that cinematographers and filmmakers are doing their best to try to bring light to this world.
“The world can be a devastating and dangerous place. A lot of my films I’ve spent looking at abuses of power, but also, I think in a more important way, looking at the everyday heroes who rise up and oppose those abuses of power.
“So it was particularly important for me to be here this year, in Poland, when we’re so close to Ukraine, when people are fighting for liberty and life for us all.”
This week, Camerimage is supporting The OKO International Ethnographic Film Festival and KINOKO Film Festival, both Ukrainian events which have been displaced by the war with Russia.
OKO Festival founder Tetiana Sanieva tearfully said: “Please help Ukraine to win in every way possible. Our economy and way of life has stopped. We lose our dreams. … We lose beloved ones.”

Lindsay Lohan interested in Freaky Friday sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Lindsay Lohan is “excited” about a potential ‘Freaky Friday’ sequel.
The ‘Falling For Christmas’ actress confirmed Jamie Lee Curtis – who played her mother in the 2003 body-swap comedy – had been in touch to discuss the possibility of a follow-up to the film while she was back working on her festive comeback project.
She told ‘Tonight Show’ host Jimmy Fallon: “I was on set filming at the time and Jamie Lee Curtis writes you, you just get excited and distracted immediately.
“So I had to bring myself down to Earth and be like, ‘OK, I’m on set, I have to focus.’ And then she said ‘Freaky Friday 2’ and I got more excited.”
She then confirmed both she and Jamie “would both be into” making a sequel.
And that’s not all because Jimmy also asked Lindsay if she’d be interested in a ‘Mean Girls’ sequel.
But the 36-year-old star insisted it wasn’t her decision to make as any follow-up would be “in Tina Fey’s hands”.
Jamie spoke in October about her desire to make a ‘Freaky Friday’ sequel, where Lindsay would get to play a “hot grandma”.
She said: “Let me be the grandma, let me be the old grandma who switches places, so then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma who’s still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon.
“And simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world, as an old lady.”
She confirmed she had pitched the idea to Disney, but there has been no confirmation as to whether the project could become reality as yet.

Olivia Attwood explains real reason for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! removal

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Attwood was removed from ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ because a blood test showed she was dangerously anaemic.
The 31-year-old reality star left camp just a day after the show launched when the routine screening contestants are regularly subjected to flagged worryingly low iron, sodium and potassium levels, prompting producers to have her sent to hospital for further tests, even though she felt “absolutely fine”.
Olivia told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “I was so scared, I was like, ‘What the hell is wrong with me?’
“They couldn’t give me an answer, they just told me that they had to get me to the hospital immediately.
“The results were really, really low when they put them into their reader and they consulted with another doctor off site. I had those bloods done in England before I left, and they were fine. I was confused and of course very, very worried…
“I didn’t know what to think. I was wondering if I had picked up a virus, was I pregnant, all of these things were going through my head. It was absolutely frightening.”
The tests were repeated in hospital and came back normal, so Olivia assumed she would be cleared to return to the jungle – only to be left “absolutely devastated” when ITV executives told her she was too much of a risk to go back to camp.
Recalling how she spent the night in a hotel after being released from hospital, she said: “I tried to keep a hold of my emotions but it started to feel like I wasn’t going back, you know when you just get a feeling? It started to dawn on me that I was out for good.”
And of her subsequent meeting with producers, she added: “They said because of the results the show’s medical team got from my readings, they were not happy to sign me off to come back in, even though I had the clean bill of health from the hospital.
“If I went back into camp, they feared my levels might drop and it could be detrimental to my health and wellbeing. They were not willing to authorise my return and therefore I wasn’t insured.
“I was absolutely devastated. I’m not a crier but I started to cry, it was so emotional. I was heartbroken and gutted. I tried to keep my emotions in check and keep it in perspective, things could be so much worse.
“Then the show’s staff told me everyone liked me and I was favourite to win, so that leaving felt like a punch to the gut.
“Just two days before, I jumped out of a helicopter which I loved. I did a trial which I loved. I was so happy and elated. It was an extreme high to an extreme low. I felt empty.”

Jorgie Porter: Owen warner is ‘daft’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jorgie Porter has admitted Owen Warner is as “daft” as he has come across on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 34-year-old actress – who took part in the show in 2015 – dismissed suggestions her ‘Hollyoaks’ co-star had been “putting it on” when it comes to his lack of knowledge and insisted he is exactly the same off screen as he has been in the jungle.
She told The Sun: “He really is that daft on set.
“He is so funny. What you’re seeing in the jungle is exactly who he is.
“He’s just so fun and young and believes anything, bless him. I’ve had a few people ask me if he’s putting it on but I can assure you he’s not.
“He doesn’t get upset if he doesn’t know something — he’s just open to learning, which is so endearing.
“He tells me all the time he learns a lot of things from TikTok, and I’m, like, ‘Wow!’ He makes me laugh so much with some of the things he comes out with.”
Jorgie – who is expecting her first child with fiance Oliver Piotrowski – admitted some of 23-year-old Owen’s gaffes have blown her mind, but he is never afraid to laugh at himself.
She said: “One thing he said which blew my mind was, ‘So the baby is upside down in your belly right now but when the baby comes out, he’ll be upright and he won’t be upside down any more?’ I was like, ‘OK’.
“He’ll go into theories and things. And sometimes you can tease him about stuff, which we’ve seen with the Chris Moyles professional dance thing. But that’s just his vulnerability.
“I see him as one of the kids. He and ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Malique Thompson-Dwyer are like Beavis and Butt-Head. I remember saying it to him one day and he was like, ‘Who are they? He had no idea.
“I’ll often tell a joke and it goes straight over his head. But you can’t not love him, there’s no malice with Owen, he’s just this really nice guy. He’s never nasty, he’s not got a bad bone in his body. He’s got such a genuine heart. The cast and crew love him.”
While some viewers have compared Owen to Joey Essex, Jorgie insisted they are “very different” from one another.
She said: “I love Joey but Owen is one of his own. I like them both but they are both very different.
“You laugh your head off. Owen’s not putting on a show, he is just being himself, which is what you want.
“What is brilliant about the jungle is there’s no way you can put on an act, as everyone would see through it and you wouldn’t be able to keep it up.”

Tyler West ready to go topless on Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyler West thinks it is “time” to go topless on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 26-year-old DJ – who is partnered with Dianne Buswell on the show – teased he is prepared to take off his shirt to win more fans in the competition but admitted he’d also be happy to for more practical reasons.
He told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “I think we are getting closer to getting topless. We are getting there. Maybe it’s time.
“I would do it just because I overheat, so the less the better for me.”
The KISS FM star dismissed speculation he’s romancing fellow ‘Strictly’ star Molly Rainford after they were pictured together last month, insisting he’s got no time for dating because of his “intense” training schedule.
He said: “It was just the wrong place to be waiting for our cabs,” he said.
“Mols is wicked, she’s cool. You are having lunch together, training together… it is an intense schedule but there is no romance.
“I have been so focused on myself and dance, I wouldn’t have time to date. If you see my schedule, I don’t even have time to reply to a female even if they did message me. Looking forward to after the show, though. Who knows?”
And Tyler insisted he gets more messages about his quirky torch-collecting hobby than from anyone looking to date him.
He said: “Everyone thinks my DMs are popping off but that’s not the case.
“People are more interested in talking about my torches.”
Away from the show, the only female company Tyler has is his beloved mum Debs, who he moved back in with earlier this year to save money.
He said: “Debs is living her best life on the Strictly journey. She doesn’t want me to move out. Talk about the cost-of-living crisis!
“She has been a rock in my life and on my Strictly journey. She always keeps my feet on the ground.”

Luke Evans: I’ll never be tipped to play James Bond again

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Evans thinks this is the last time he’ll be tipped to play James Bond.
The ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ actor has been among those rumoured to be in consideration to replace Daniel Craig as the suave spy and he joked if he misses out this time when he’s 43, he’s got no chance of landing the role in future.
He said: “It’s a wonderful role but it’s not easy and whoever gets it will have big shoes to fill. But this is the only time I will ever be connected to it, because by the time the role comes around again, I’ll be way too old!
The ‘Beauty and the Beast’ star had worked in London’s West End for years before finding Hollywood success and he admitted he was “terrified” on his first days on the set of ‘Clash of the Titans’.
He told Red: “My feet didn’t touch the ground. I was a total fish out of water. Nobody really prepped me on what to expect, I just had to follow what everyone else was doing. It took a lot of self-will to stop myself from walking out the door and going, ‘I’m sorry, I can’t do this. I don’t know what I’m doing.’ I remember feeling terrified that my first scene in ‘Clash of the Titans’ was with Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes, both of them playing Greek gods, and I was the son of Zeus and Apollo. I was observing some of the best, picking up little tricks.
“Sometimes when there’s no going back, you just have to keep going forwards.”
Luke went on to recall feeling very starstruck at the time when he met Oscar-winning star Emma Thompson when she was shooting a film close by.
He said: “Can you imagine? I’d never met a Hollywood movie star in my life.
“I remember one day, Emma Thompson came in because she was filming ‘Nanny McPhee’ next door and – in costume – sat on Liam Neeson’s lap on the throne.
“I will never forget that day. It was absolutely hilarious.”

Matt Hancock stung by a scorpion on I’m A Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Hancock has been stung by a scorpion on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’
The 44-year-old politician – who served as the UK’s Health Secretary during the COVID-19 pandemic – is controversially taking part in the ITV jungle reality show and was reportedly left in “agony” after being bitten by the arachnid but is “absolutely fine” after being treated by medics.
A TV insider told The Sun: “Matt was in agony and described how it was twice as painful as a bee sting. Luckily Matt is absolutely fine but it was still a nasty sting. These scorpions are seen throughout the jungle and the celebrities have been warned to keep an eye out to avoid painful stings.”
The incident was first hinted at during Saturday’s (12.11.22) episode of the reality show, when it was announced that Matt had been voted to take part in his fifth consecutive Bushtucker trial in scenes due to air tonight.

Tony Adams leaves Strictly after sustaining an injury

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Adams has withdrawn from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ after sustaining an injury.
The 56-year-old footballer had been taking part in the BBC Latin and ballroom competition with professional partner Katya Jones but was unable to take part in the dance off on Saturday (12.11.22) so withdrew from the competition, meaning that fellow bottom two couple Tyler West and Dianne Buswell went straight through to the Blackpool Tower heat of the competition next week.
Host Tess Daly explained on Sunday’s results show: “Due to an injury sustained on Saturday night, Tony is unable to take part in the dance-off and has decided to withdraw from the competition. This means there will be no dance off tonight and Tyler and Dianne are through to Blackpool.”
Just before leaving the stage, Tony remarked that he had been on an “emotional journey” on the show and urged others to speak out about their mental health because he “cried for the first month” of the competition but has “learned so much” about himself.
He said: “It’s been emotional guys, I cried for the first month. I came in here with one message, if you’ve got an issue with mental health then please don’t suffer in silence and reach out for help. Little did I know that I was going to learn a lot about myself in the process. I thought this ‘journey’ rubbish was nonsense, but my god the rollercoaster of emotion. I’ve got to be honest, it’s tough,
physically it’s really tough out there, but dancing is really fantastic for you. Go out there and enjoy it and pick up new skills and explore. I suppose I had better mention this one [Katya] hadn’t I, she is an exceptional human being, she really is.”
On Saturday’s show, Tony and Katya scored a total of 24 following their performance of the Jive to ‘Land of a Thousand Dances’ and upon his exit, head judge Shirley Ballas described Tony as one of the “nation’s favourite entertainers” as she congratulated him on his eight-week run in the competition.
She said: “Tony, from the very first moment you stepped foot on the floor with your tango, to the last moment and the last kick, you have given us 100% of your heart. You have grown week after week after week, you have become one of the nation’s favourite entertainers. On behalf of the judges, we’ve enjoyed watching every second, you are truly what this show is all about, and we can only wish you the very best as you move forward. Please carry on dancing, carry on entertaining people, because you are a star. Well done.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Saturday 19 November at 6.30pm with the results show airing the next day at 7:15pm on BBC One.

Matt Hancock voted to do sixed trial on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me out of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Hancock is to face his sixth consecutive trial on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’
The 44-year-old politician – who served as the UK’s health secretary during the COVID-19 pandemic – is controversially appearing as a contestant on the ITV jungle survival show and has been chosen by the public once again to face unpleasantries to earn meals for camp in Deserted Down Under.
After Ant and Dec made the announcement, Matt’s campmates were seen laughing while he sighed: “Brilliant! What is Deserted Down Under then?”
Earlier in the show, Matt managed to win a total of nine stars – which equalled nine meals for camp – when he took part in the House of Horrors trial, which saw him battling against pigeons, and snakes and wading through offal in a giant doll’s house.
After his triumph in the trial, it was revealed that Matt and former rugby player Mike Tindall had been selected by the public to go head-to-head in a battle to become camp leader, with Matt selecting journalist Charlene White to be his deputy and Mike selecting ‘Coronation Street’ star Sue Cleaver.
The leadership contest involved each respective pair working together in their teams to see who could turn on a sequence-based wall of lights the fastest directed by the women, who were being covered in slime.
Prior to taking part, Mike joked: “It only dawned on me about 35 seconds ago that if I went home and I had lost to Matt Hancock, I would be in so much s***.”
Following Matt’s victory, Charlene joked that she was “super super proud” of Matt for finally winning a leadership contest, while Mike claimed he was “devastated” to have been beaten by the Conservative MP.
As camp leaders, Matt and ‘Loose Women’ anchor Charlene no longer have to carry out camp duties and instead focus on delegating tasks and can spend their nights sleeping indoors in the camper van, while Matt has been assigned his own regal red chair for exclusive use.
Reflecting in The Bush Telegraph, ITV newsreader Charlene – who was later seen finding it difficult to stay in the RV due to a spider – joked that she would never have believed she would ever find herself rooming with Matt.
She said: “No one could ever have made me believe that by the end of the year I would be sharing a room with Matt Hancock, so…it’s all a journey!”
The pair decided that the two camp chefs would be ‘A Place in the Sun’ presenter Scarlette Douglas and ‘Hollyoaks’ star Owen Warner, while footballer Jill Scott and pop star Boy George were assigned to washing up duties.
Radio star Chris Moyles and Mike Tindall were chosen to be in charge of water, while Sue Cleaver and Seann Walsh were assigned the task of emptying the dunny and Babatúndé Aléshé will be in charge of maintenance.
Upon hearing the news, Sue quipped: “I am happy to move your s***!”
