Tasha Ghouri tops the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard

OHMYGOSSIP — Tasha Ghouri has finished joint-top of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard.
The 26-year-old model and her professional partner Aljaz Skorjanec scored 39 points out of a possible 40 with their paso doble routine on the BBC show.
‘Strictly’ judge Motsi Mabuse said: “It was beautiful storytelling and shaping – dance of the night.”
Fellow judge Shirley Ballas described their performance as a “classic”.
The 64-year-old ballroom dancer added: “It took me back to my own career.”
Elsewhere, Sarah Hadland and her professional partner Vito Coppola also achieved a near-perfect score with their latest routine.
The 53-year-old actress and Vito wowed the judges with their couple’s choice performance.
Motsi said: “That was iconic – you just smashed Blackpool!”
What’s more, Shirley hailed the duo’s latest routine as their best performance of the series.
She said: “Tiny details were sensual but classy, full of fun. You represent all women – your best dance so far.”
By contrast, Craig Revel Horwood was a little bit more measured with his praise.
The ‘Strictly’ judge – who is yet to award ten points for any routine during the current series – observed: “With that minimalism and economy, it was a bit too perfect … sounds weird but lacked attitude in the still moment. But, spec-tac-ular!”
Meanwhile, Pete Wicks sits at the bottom of the leaderboard.
The 36-year-old TV star – who is best known for appearing on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ – and his partner Jowita Przystał could only achieve a relatively modest score of 27 points out of a possible 40.
Craig commented: “You fought the dance, un-coordinated, behind the beat, bent leg but huge fun.”

Davina McCall undergoing surgery to remove ‘very rare’ brain tumour

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall is undergoing surgery to remove a “benign brain tumour”.
The 57-year-old TV star will be taking some time “off grid” after having the operation to remove the “very rare” 14mm tumour, known as a colloid cyst, which was discovered during a health scan earlier this year while she gave a talk for a menopause company.
In a video posted to Instagram, she explained: “Hi, so I’m posting this it will be Friday (15.11.24) morning. I’m posting it because a few months ago I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was going to ace, but it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare.
“Three in a million! So I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, and then I saw quite a few neurosurgeons, I got lots of opinions. I realised that I have to get it taken out. It’s big for the space – it fills the space. It’s 14mm wide. And it needs to come out because if it grows it would be bad.”
Her boyfriend Michael Douglas reassured fans of the former ‘Big Brother’ host that she is in “great shape” but will need some time to recover from the operation.
In the caption of the video, he penned: “Hey everyone. Michael here. @davinamccall will be ‘off grid’ for a bit while she recovers from this brain operation. She is in great shape and in very good hands.
“I’ll I do the odd update from her account here for anyone interested. I’m sure she’ll read all the comments when she’s able to so feel free to send love [heart emoji] . The support of people is amazingly powerful. Have a great day everyone. Michael xxx (sic).”

She commented: “You and I have chatted about this day … you are in amazing hands with your surgeon and the team.
“Everyone loves you. Thank you for not only being a brave girl but for sharing your condition. You will help sooooo many other people [heart emoji] big hugs. 30 second rule. See you soon N xx (sic).”

‘We were asleep at the wheel…’ Ridley Scott regrets leaving Alien franchise to other directors

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Ridley Scott regrets leaving the ‘Alien’ franchise after the first movie.
The 86-year-old director helmed the eponymous sci-fi horror flick in 1979 before passing the torch to the series to a string of other filmmakers including James Cameron, David Fincher and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, though Scott has now admitted he wishes he took full ownership of the I.P. after the his original film proved to be such a critical and commercial hit.
In a interview with Deadline, the Ridley said: “We were asleep at the wheel. My advisors, who frankly no longer are with me, were asleep at the wheel, certainly. And I partly blame myself, except I was busy making other films. And so it was let go and it shouldn’t have been.”
After making ‘Alien’, Scott went on to make the Harrison Ford-starring sci-fi classic ‘Blade Runner’ and followed it up with fantasy adventure film ‘Legend’.
‘Terminator’ director James Cameron took over the ‘Alien’ franchise and was responsible for helming the 1986 sequel ‘Aliens’, which took the Xenomorph creature into action territory.
After Cameron’s film, the series was passed to David Fincher and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who helmed ‘Alien 3’ and ‘Alien: Resurrection’ in 1992 and 1997 respectively.
While Scott was satisfied with Cameron’s work on ‘Aliens’, the filmmaker was not happy with what followed, especially the crossover films ‘Alien vs. Predator’ and ‘Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem’.
He recalled: “Jim told me, ‘Listen, I can’t get it as frightening because you’ve just shown the beast enough that it’s no longer fresh.’ But it works, still.
“He said, ‘I’m going to go military.’ That’s what Jim said. I said, ‘Gotcha.’ Jim’s was a very good sequel. Three and four became more and more difficult. As it unrolled, I thought, oh God, they’re f***** it up. And then from that, honestly, I said, ‘Okay, that’s done.’”
Following his long break from the franchise, Scott returned with the 2012 prequel ‘Prometheus’ – which he wrote with Damon Lindelof – and its follow-up ‘Alien: Covenant’ five years later.
The ‘Gladiator II’ director explained he was inspired to revisit the series after Cameron’s ‘Aliens’ proved to stand the test of time and became one of the more popular entries into the franchise.
Scott explained: “Years later, I saw this bloody film that they keep playing every night somewhere on the globe, on all the platforms. There’s life in the best, yet.
“That’s why I sat down with the great writer Lindelof, and we reconstructed a resurrection of the era, with ‘Prometheus’, and how it evolved from ‘Alien’.”

Dog Soldiers 2 is no longer happening, says director Neil Marshall

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Dog Soldiers’ director Neil Marshall has announced that a sequel to his werewolf movie is not going ahead.
The 2002 horror flick follows a small squad of soldiers who are sent to meet with a special ops unit in the Scottish Highlands, only to find a bloody massacre before they realise they are being hunted by werewolves, and since its release it has gained cult status.
Marshall had plans for a sequel titled ‘Dog Soldiers 2: Underdogs’ but he has now revealed that it won’t be happening after negotiations between himself and producer Christopher Figg, and I.P. owner David E. Allen broke down.
On Instagram, Marshall posted a picture of the teaser poster for the movie and wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that this teaser poster is probably as close as we’ll ever get to a ‘Dog Soldiers’ sequel.
“For the past six years, myself and original UK producer of ‘Dog Soldiers’, Christopher Figg, have been working tirelessly to negotiate for the rights to make a sequel with the US Producer/rights holder David E. Allen and his company Dash. Six years!! That’s as long as it took to write and make the first movie.”
‘The Descent’ director said that the negations “came to a sudden and unexpected halt” when Allen’s company Dash “vanished” without a trace.
He lamented: “Unfortunately these negotiations came to a sudden and unexpected halt when, earlier this year, we were due to finalise and sign the agreements and … they disappeared. Vanished. Cut off all communication. Refuse to answer emails or calls.”
Marshall, 54, concluded that the sudden loss of communication with Dash meant ‘Dog Soldiers 2: Underdogs’ was “effectively dead”.
He said: “Why, you ask. I don’t know why. That’s the point. We simply don’t know what happened or why, but the end result is that we don’t have the rights to make a sequel without this deal in place, thus rendering it effectively dead. I’m sorry. We tried. We really did.
“And in Chris Figg’s case spent a lot of money on legal fees doing so. We wanted this for you. For all the countless fans who’ve asked for it.
“But in the end, perhaps it’s just not meant to be. The original film was lightning in a bottle, and perhaps lightning doesn’t, and in some cases shouldn’t, strike twice.”
Although ‘Dog Soldiers 2: Underdogs’ is no longer in development, Marshall is working on another movie centred on lycanthropes: ‘The Werewolves of London’.

QI star Alan Davies is ‘relentlessly’ targeted by online scammers

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Davies has revealed he gets scammed “relentlessly” online and lost £400 buying a PlayStation 5 that was never delivered.
The ‘Jonathan Creek’ star was left out of pocket in 2022 after falling for a fake listing of the Sony games console and he nearly handed over £457 to a false website when buying Christmas gifts for his three children – Susie, 15, Robert, 13, and Francis, eight – after finding a discontinued Lego set that had made one their lists.
When asked on BBC Radio Four’s ‘The Infinite Monkey Cage’, if he had ever fallen victim to a scam, the 58-year-old actor answered: “Relentlessly. At Christmas I had three Christmas lists from three children and I found every single gift on the site from all three lists, including a Lego set that was no longer made. I nearly gave them £457 and then I thought ‘this is unlikely’ but I was scammed on a PS5 two years ago, that was £400 down the drain.”
Davies also fell victim to a Bitcoin scammer who hacked his account on Twitter, now known as X since being purchased by Elon Musk.
The ‘QI’ panellist added: “It’s now become almost impossible to contact an actual human being with any company you’re dealing with, my Twitter account was hacked by a bitcoin scammer and I couldn’t do anything about it.
“They hacked into my email and I lost my 800,000 followers, not a big fish in the ocean but it was very helpful for me, if I was doing a tour or something.
“Then I couldn’t get back into the account and they said we suspect you are a bot, we don’t know who you are and I responded ‘Google me’, I’m not hard to come by, but at no point in that process could I communicate with a human being.
“What I do when I get the email I’m suspicious of is I have a look at the email address and it’s normally jeremy68qzynamibia and I think ‘hang on a minute, that isn’t Carphone Warehouse’.”

Vicky Pattison and husband sleep in separate beds 2 months after wedding – as dogs join her instead

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky Pattison shares her bed with her two dogs rather than her husband, less than three months after the pair married.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ legend and her husband Ercan Ramadan wed in London in late August, and while she prefers to cosy up to their pet dogs, Max and Milo, of an evening, Vicky insisted that is “par for the course” in their house.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I suppose some people would potentially consider how we treat them a bit outrageous and probably consider them a bit spoiled, but I just think if you’re not willing to have your dogs and treat them as part of the family I honestly don’t know what the point is.
“I think my behaviour, potentially from some, may be judged as outrageous, but it’s just par for the course.
“Even though I have just got married, I think less than two months, he’s in the spare room and the dogs sleep with me.”
Vicky and Ercan treat their pet pooches – who were adopted from Many Tears Animal Rescue – to birthday parties, advent calendars, and the canines even chow down on their own Christmas dinners over the festive period.
She added: “Every year the boys both get thrown a birthday party and when it comes to big things like Christmas we go the extra mile, whether that’s getting them their own advent calendar from Lily’s Kitchen or making sure they’ve got their own Christmas dinner, their own presents to open in the morning, it’s all just endless.
“But they’ve brought us so much happiness. They’ve turned my house into a home.”

Doctors pay tribute to Timothy West ahead of soap’s own final episode

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Doctors’ have paid tribute to Timothy West, ahead of the show’s last-ever episode on Thursday (14.11.24).
The actor passed away “peacefully in his sleep” on Tuesday (12.11.24) evening, and on Wednesday (13.11.24) he made his last-ever on-screen appearance in an episode of the BBC Daytime soap, which will bow out itself on Thursday after 24 years on screen.
A message on Doctors’ official X account, which was posted on Wednesday, read: “The Doctors family are deeply saddened to hear of Timothy West’s passing.
“His final on-screen appearance in today’s Doctors episode is a moving reminder of his incredible talent, and it was an honour to have him join us.
“We send heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.”
In Wednesday’s episode, former ‘EastEnders’ star Timothy took on the role of Artie Simkins, who had to call 999 after his neighbour took a tumble in their garden.
As well as paying tribute to ‘Doctors’, the show has also looked back at its own life.
They wrote on X: “(Tissues at the ready.) Today, on the last ever Doctors: The Mill staff and Graham have a final showdown and Scarlett’s in no mood to celebrate her birthday. BBC One 14:00
“There will be no “next time” post after the show today, but there is a documentary “Doctors, A Celebration” celebrating 24 years of the popular daytime soap opera. BBC One 14:35. (sic)”
‘Doctors’ actor Chris Walker – who has played police officer Rob Hollins since 2009 – recently admitted he felt “bereaved” after the daytime soap was axed after 24 years, and he believes the move is a “crying shame for the industry”.
He told TV Times magazine: “I was – and still am to a degree – a bit bereaved, which I know might sound dramatic.
“My other half, Sharon, said to me, ‘It wasn’t just a job, it became your identity,’ and it’s very sad to lose that.
“And to not be with all the fabulous people who’ve become close friends.
“But life moves on.
“Nothing is forever and the BBC have made their choice, and that’s the way it is.”

Sarah Hadland reveals Blackpool trauma after ‘horror’ experience with a donkey

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Hadland was “traumatised” after a being dragged under a donkey “like something in a horror film”.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star will be back in Blackpool this weekend, but she doesn’t have the fondest memories of the seaside town from her own childhood.
She said: “My mum took me to Blackpool when I was a little. We got there and we did the rollercoaster… when our photograph came through everyone had their arms in the air but I’m nowhere to be seen.
“I’m in the brace position, probably screaming, brace, brace. After that, my mum took us to go on a little donkey ride on the beach.
“I got on a donkey but it got spooked. I swung under the donkey and was dragged with my face in the sand.
“This donkey was called something like Brenda. It’s like something in a horror film. After that, I think I was a bit traumatised and just came home.”
Despite her terrifying day out, the 53-year-old actress is “so excited” to be performing on the Blackpool Tower Ballroom’s iconic sprung dance floor.
She added: “I’m quite a bouncy person and Vito [Coppola] spends a lot of time telling me to stop being so bouncy.
“He says I’m like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. But then he’s quite bouncy too, but he can control it.
“I’m worried that I’m going to have to be even less bouncy. To actually dance on it will be amazing.”
The ‘Miranda’ star described the chance to perform at the legendary venue as “a huge privilege”.
She said: “How many people who are not professional dancers can say that they’ve competed on the ballroom at Blackpool? That’s just crazy.
“There is added pressure because you’ve got the size and the scale, the privilege is just going
to make me absolutely go for it.”

Jane Moore’s parachute jump ‘goes wrong’ during new I’m A Celebrity opening challenge

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane Moore’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ experience has already taken an awkward turn after her parachute jump went wrong.
The ‘Loose Women’ star was taking part in a new challenge to kick off her time on the ITV reality show, with producers scrapping the typical Walk The Plank opener for a ‘Snakes and Leaders’ race to camp.
As reported by MailOnline, Jane – who has been grouped with Danny Jones, Tulisa Contostavlos, Dean McCullough and Oti Mabuse – had to jump from a helicopter over Byron Bay.
The 62-year-old presenter didn’t have the best time though, as the wind blew her off course and she ended up quarter of a mile down the beach in the middle of some holiday makers.
Meanwhile, the second group – made up of Coleen Rooney, Melvin Odoom, Barry McGuigan, GK Barry and Alan Halsall – were on a beach, dealing with blazing heat.
Thankfully, Jane was unharmed, but it’s not the best start with bosses shaking things up with a “terrifying and exhilarating” new opening to the show.
An insider told the outlet: “The new challenge promises to be one of the most exciting ever as some of the campmates will truly be put to the ultimate test before they enter camp which they won’t be expecting.
“It won’t be an easy ride into camp for the celebrities this year, bosses are pulling out all the stops to ensure the show has a spectacular launch that viewers won’t want to miss.”
The game will see the celebrities paired up to compete against fellow campmates to make it over the finish line into the jungle camp.
The duo that win ‘Snakes and Leaders’ will become the first leaders of the camp, meaning they can run things as they want, and will be exempt from chores.
They’ll also get to settle into the Leaders’ Lodge, compete with comfortable beds – including mattresses, duvets and pillows – and shelter from the elements.

Crazy Rich Asians 2 unlikely, admits director Jon M. Chu

OHMYGOSSIP — Jon M. Chu has admitted a second ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ probably won’t happen.
The 45-year-old director helmed the rom-com – which is an adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s satirical 2013 novel of the same name – in 2018, and although there is much clamour for a follow-up, Chu insists it is unlikely because he is yet to find “a script that’s better and has as much urgency as the first movie”.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Chu said: “There are a lot of questions about ‘Crazy Rich Asians 2’ . I always promised the cast, I will not bring them back unless we get a script that’s better and has as much urgency as the first movie. And I think we just haven’t gotten there yet.
“The first movie, even though people think, ‘It’s like the book, so the second book should fit in’, it’s actually not. There’s a lot of shifting, architecturally, and so it’s not a straight translation.
“And then there are characters that you want to see in a movie that are part of the book. We’ve done some versions and it’s never quite hit.
“The bar is high for all of us to come back to do that, so I’m not going to put the audience through that until we’re ready to do it.”
Kwan’s bestseller was followed by two sequel books; ‘China Rich Girlfriend’ in 2015 and 2017’s ‘Rich People Problems’.
‘Crazy Rich Asians’ – which starred Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Awkwafina, Sonoya Mizuno, Michelle Yeoh and Ken Jeong among others – follows Rachel Chu who travels to Singapore with her long-time boyfriend Nick for his best friend’s wedding, where she learns her partner comes from an extremely wealthy family and is considered one of the countries most eligible bachelors.
After this comes to light, Rachel must content with a flurry of jealous women, Nick’s eccentric family and his disapproving mother.
As well as ‘Crazy Rich Asians’, the filmmaker also admitted his future in the ‘G.I. Joe’ franchise was uncertain because he was still working on the second ‘Wicked’ movie, which is due to be released on 21 November, 2025.
Even so, Chu – who helmed ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ in 2013 – admitted he loved the ‘G.I. Joe’ world, and praised his ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ actor Henry Golding for playing the assassin Snake Eyes in the eponymous 2021 flick.
When ComicBook.com asked the director about his potential return to the action franchise, he said: “‘G.I. Joe’?, I’m in ‘Wicked’ world right now.
“I mean I love the ‘G.I. Joe’ world, ‘Snake Eyes’, all those people. Henry Golding, I loved his version of Snake Eyes.
“[But] you never know. You never know, but right now I still got movie two to go to.”

Paul Mescal wants Gladiator III to happen

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Mescal is “massively down” for a third ‘Gladiator’ movie.
The 28-year-old actor stars in director Sir Ridley Scott’s new historical epic – which is a sequel to the 2000 original, which starred Russell Crowe – as the former heir to the Roman Empire-turned slave Lucius Venus, and he has admitted he would be up for another film, which he joked wouldn’t take another 24 years to make.
When Variety asked Mescal if he would want a third instalment in the ‘Gladiator’ franchise, he said: “Oh yeah, [I’m] massively down.
“I don’t think it will be [24] years — but I have no idea when it will be.”
‘Gladiator II’ had its Global Premiere in London on Wednesday night (13.11.24) which was attended by Mescal and his co-stars Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen Joseph Quinn, Denzel Washington and director Sir Ridley Scott among others.
The premiere was also a Royal Performance with King Charles III in attendance, though Queen Camilla was not able to make it to the event due to a seasonal chest infection.
Before the premiere, King Charles hosted the cast and crew of ‘Gladiator II’ at a Buckingham Palace reception, something Mescal said was a “wildly overwhelming” experience.
Mescal told Sky News: “I’m struggling with words at the moment.
“This has been an absolutely, wildly – I keep using the word overwhelming – but I think if this isn’t slightly overwhelming then I don’t know what the hell is. I’m having a great time.”
‘Gladiator II’ follows Lucius (Mescal) who is thrown into the Colosseum to fight for his life and his people after being taken as a slave by Macrinus (Washington).
While he was overjoyed to joined the project, Mescal revealed he vowed to not watch the first ‘Gladiator’ as to ensure he didn’t subconsciously lift characteristics from Crowe’s Maximus for his portrayal of Lucius.
He explained to Digital Spy: “I made two decisions. One was to not watch the first film again once I’d been cast, and the second one was just play the character that’s on the page. If I was to try and play something that was like Maximus, it would have just been boring for me.
“I don’t want to be shooting a film that’s going to be, for me, not something that I’m excited to go and do every day.”
The ‘All of Us Strangers’ star added he had to decipher the life of his gladiator to make sure he did justice to the character.
He said: “Playing a person who’s not you, in any context, is always challenging. You always kind of doubt yourself at certain moments, but you’re just trying to become a detective about somebody else’s life.
“That’s something that can just keep you awake, because there’s no end point to that journey. Like, you never arrive at the end and go like: ‘I know who this person is fully.’ You have a suspicion, and you just trying to follow that suspicion.”

Daisy Ridley and husband Tom Bateman changed the story of Magpie

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Ridley’s new thriller ‘Magpie’ “changed quite a lot” after she pitched her ideas to husband Tom Bateman.
The 32-year-old actress appears in the noir flick as lonely mother Anette – whose husband becomes infatuated by a famous movie star as he chaperones their young daughter on a film set – and now Ridley has revealed the project underwent major changes after she presented it to her partner, who she co-wrote the picture with, with Anette becoming the focal point of the plot.
Speaking to Dread Central, Ridley said: “It changed quite a lot. I had an initial idea about an actress infiltrating a family, and told Tom and we started developing it.
“And he just said he was much more drawn to Anette being the centre of the story. Once he made that decision I was like, ‘Sounds great!’ He just said the story sort of flowed out from there.”
The ‘Star Wars’ actress – who also produced ‘Magpie’ with Bateman – wanted the dark themes about the relationship between Anette and her husband Ben (Shazad Latif) to be distinct from her role as a parent.
She explained: “I feel like the fact that the marriage is difficult is separate to that fact that Anette is a mum. And one of the things I really wanted to make sure [we achieved] was nothing on-screen was happening because Anette … it’s not being driven by her children. It’s just that she has children.
“She has stayed in a marriage that is not happy, and because of concessions she’s made in that relationship, she doesn’t have that support system that might have made things easier.
“So it’s just one of those things, but certainly I always wanted to make sure that Anette is being a good mum.”
Ridley also wants ‘Magpie’ to spark “conversations” about people’s personal “feelings”.
She shared: “I hope that people will have conversations. The film really deals with perspective and our own feelings and the conversations we have had with people after screenings have been really interesting.
“And the way its resonating on various levels is quite amazing, so I would hope that people leave and feel inspired to have a conversation about how it made them feel.”
While she loved working with Bateman on ‘Magpie’, Ridley found it “very helpful” to not have her husband present on-set.
She previously told MovieWeb: “I think that [not having him there] was very helpful for me and to be honest that was precisely the moment where it ended up being really good, because otherwise I would’ve felt a little inhibited.
“He’s come to set to watch me in other things but because of the nature of this role in particular, and it’s all so personal anyway, particularly because he was able to watch the dailies and actually give feedback as someone who wasn’t there.”

Ryan Reynolds ‘would do anything’ to make The Proposal 2 with Sandra Bullock

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds “would do anything” to make a sequel to ‘The Proposal’ with Sandra Bullock.
The 48-year-old actor starred opposite Bullock, 60, in the 2009 rom-com, in which Canadian publishing executive Margaret Tate (Bullock) learns that she may face deportation from America because her visa renewal application was denied and so convinces her long-suffering personal assistant Andrew Paxton to marry her so she can get her green card with the promise of helping him fulfil his dream of becoming an editor, however, they ultimately fall in love for real.
Reynolds has now spilled that they would both “love” to make a second film showing what how Margaret and Andrew’s life together turned out.
In an interview with Deadline’s video series ‘The Actor’s Side’, the actor said: “There is nobody in this business that can compare to Sandra Bullock. She’s singular. Not just on screen, but off.
“She’s a person that is just so ubiquitously respected but also kind. And I would do anything, anything with Sandy.
“I talked to her a lot still and we would both love that. And I hope we get the chance to do that.”
Reflecting on the comedy genre as a whole, the ‘Free Guy’ star said Hollywood was also keen to release another funny flick, even if Reynolds feels like the genre is “underrepresented” and “under respected” in the industry.
He explained: “Studios go, ‘Why don’t we do more comedies?’ … this is part of the problem. People look at comedies like … Our job is to make hard things look easy. I always feel a little bit insecure because you’re not really supposed to show the work. It’s a little bit frowned upon. The stitching and unstitching is meant to be invisible.
“But they [studios] say, ‘Why don’t were make more comedies?’ Comedies are hard. They’re underrepresented. And I think under respected in a lot of different ways.”
Reynolds then praised the comedy genre for its “fascinating” level of “technicality”.
He gushed: “There’s so much technicality to it all. And it’s all fascinating. I love the media. It’s so wonderful because it always has to work in concert with drama and emotion and warmth. And I love that sort of sway back and forth.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Reynolds admitted his future as Deadpool was uncertain following the release and success of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, as he is currently writing for a movie away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his co-star Hugh Jackman and director Shawn Levy.
When asked whether he would play the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ again, the actor said: “I don’t know. We’re currently writing something for something for Hugh and myself and Sean to direct that is outside of the Marvel Universe.
“Deadpool to me is a supporting character. He should be a supporting character, and centring him – the only way you can do that is by taking everything away from him. So you have to sort of rip everything he holds dear away from him. Now that makes him the underdog.
“But I can’t do another movie where I take everything away from him.”
Reynolds is adamant he would reprise the role in an “ensemble” movie like the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ or ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, and revealed he had an idea for a Marvel film that he was “a little obsessed with”.

Oti Mabuse signed for I’m A Celeb to inspire her daughter

OHMYGOSSIP — Oti Mabuse signed up for a stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ to inspire her baby daughter.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star is among the famous faces who will be competing in the new series of the ITV reality series and Oti has revealed she wanted to prove herself to her little girl Madison, who turned one last month.
According to The Sun newspaper, she said: “She’s got so much family. She’s got so much love around her. I’ll be back, and I’ll be with her all day long, every day.
“But I think it’s nice for her to see that Mum is fully committed and loves her so much. But also, Mum wants to do what she wants to do. You know, Mum has goals as well.
“I think it’s something, as mums, we can all kind of be proud of – that we can be these incredible human beings as well as accomplish things that we want, or reach our goals, or do things that are fun for us.
“And when she grows up, she’ll Google me, and she’ll probably see it and be like, ‘Yeah, my mum did that. My mum did that’.”
Oti’s husband Marius Iepure will be taking care of Madison while she’s away in Australia and the dancer is confident he will be fine during her time away.
She added: “He’s a hands-on, full-on dad. He’s brilliant at being a father. I think my whole family will be amazing. They have each other, and she’s not alone.”
This year’s line-up for the jungle series also includes WAG Coleen Rooney, former pop star Tulisa, ‘Coronation Street’ star Alan Halsall, McFly’s Danny Jones, and ‘Love Island’ star Maura Higgins.
Alan has since admitted he would have given up his place on the show if his 11-year-old daughter Sienna had asked him to stay at home.
According to The Sun, he said: “If Sienna had said, ‘Dad, don’t go’, I don’t think I would do it if I’m brutally honest.
“It was much, much harder than I thought and I fully appreciate that it’s a couple of weeks away but to Sienna, at her age, I’m on the other side of the world – she doesn’t get to see me and speak to me on the phone and stuff.
“I’m a single parent as well, so when I’m with Sienna it is me and her. I think once I get on screen, hopefully she can watch it with a smile on her face and have a good laugh at Dad, and hopefully Dad doesn’t embarrass her too much.”
