Hugh Jackman was ‘done’ with Wolverine

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Jackman “fully intended” ‘Logan’ to be his final outing as Wolverine.
The 54-year-old actor recently revealed he will reprise his beloved ‘X-Men’ role for the third ‘Deadpool’ movie but insisted he’s always meant it when he told fans he was finished playing the character – though he confessed the idea of returning for Ryan Reynolds’ franchise has always been “lurking and brewing” in his subconscious.
He said: “Well, I was 20 minutes into watching ‘Deadpool’ and I had just announced, literally, a few weeks before that Logan was going to be my last, which I fully intended. And then I was like, ‘Uh-oh’…
“I’m a terrible poker player. All this time I was saying I was done, I really meant it. But anyway, somewhere deep down, this idea was obviously lurking and brewing.”
But over the summer, Hugh realised he “really wanted” to be a part of the ‘Deadpool’ saga and his role came together quickly once he’d called Ryan to reveal he was finally giving in to his begging, much to his friend’s surprise.
He told Deadline: “I was just driving out to the beach. It was mid-August, I had a week off from the show [‘The Music Man’ on Broadway], my first week off in eight, nine months, 10 months. And it came to me like, ‘I really want to do that.’ And that was it.
“As soon as I arrived at the beach, I rang Ryan just to see what the hell was going on. And then here we are. It was so quick.
“And trust me, there’s not a morning I don’t wake up where Ryan Reynolds is outside my house with posters saying, ‘Please.’ He’s constantly asking me about it.
“And I was like, ‘Dude, I’m done. I’m done, I’m done, I’m done, I’m done, I’m done.’ So then when he rang me [back], he was like, ‘Are you serious?’ So yeah.”

Louis Theroux Interviews gets 2nd series

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Theroux is to return with a second series of ‘Interviews’.
The 52-year-old documentary-maker will be back on BBC Two with a new season of his latest show, after he got up close and person with Stormzy, Dame Judi Dench, Yungblud, Bear Grylls, Katherine Ryan, and Rita Ora in the first series.
He said: “It was a huge pleasure making the first series of ‘Louis Theroux Interviews’ and I’m thrilled it connected with audiences and now we’re allowed to make some more.
“Massive thanks to the BBC for believing in the idea and for supporting us every step of the way. Expect more big stars, intimate access, and three times BAFTA winning excellence from yours truly.”
Clare Sillery, Head of Commissioning, Documentaries, added: “It is testament to Louis’ skill and genuine curiosity about people that in a series featuring very different individuals, he was able to make such an engaging set of films.
“With a range of subjects from Dame Judi Dench to Yungblud, it is impossible to pick a favourite episode. I am so delighted he’s making more, and cannot wait to see the line-up for the next series.”
In Louis’ first series, Yungblud revealed his childhood was scarred by his parents’ “abusive” relationship, Rita Ora gushed about her “dream” wedding, and Stormzy admitted he wants to reconcile with his father, who previously left his family to start a new one.
He said: “It’s very right that I hold this pain because of what he’s done, with him not being there.
“He’s a flawed man. His mistake was a big one. But I know he’s really sorry and he’s reached out through my mother and my sisters.
“I am going to speak to him – I now have the power to say, ‘I forgive you.’ ”

Dawn French wants to be buried in Vicar of Dibley costume

OHMYGOSSIP — Dawn French wants to be buried in her ‘Vicar of Dibley’ costume.
The 65-year-old star is best known for portraying vicar Geraldine Granger in the BBC One sitcom, and she would love to be laid to rest in “the full vestments” with a full face of makeup, and placed in a gold casket with a Perspex lid so mourners can see her.
She said: “I’d like to be preserved. I’d like to be embalmed, properly – full makeup with lashes.”
Dawn – who was married to Sir Lenny Henry from 1984 to 2010 – would like her exes to be at her funeral.
She said: “This is all low key, obviously.
“I would like a sort of a wake behind of previous lovers and concubines.”
The ‘French and Saunders’ star – who is now married to Mark Bignell – is also keen for ‘Vicar of Dibley’ co-writer Richard Curtis to pen her eulogy, and she would love her best pal Jennifer Saunders to read it out.
Speaking on Kathy Burke’s ‘Where There’s a Will, There’s a Wake’ podcast, she joked: “It would kill her to have to say so many nice things about me.”
In March, Dawn admitted she didn’t like “posh” Jennifer when they first met.
She said: “I didn’t really like Jen that much at the very beginning because she’s quite posh, or I thought she was but she’s not really. She had a whole friendship group of way out of my league sort of people, and then I had to share a flat with her.
“But as soon as I got rid of my prejudice about her, which I still have to this day – prejudice against posh people, they have to prove their worth to me – I thought, ‘She’s actually great.’ ”

Frankie Bridge: I did well to avoid the Strictly Come Dancing curse

OHMYGOSSIP — Frankie Bridge has joked she “did well” not to get pregnant by her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro partner while on the show.
The ‘Loose Women’ star took part in the 12th series of the Latin and ballroom show in 2014, in which she was runner-up alongside professional dance partner Kevin Clifton.
During her stint on ‘Strictly’, the mum-of-two – who shares sons Parker, nine, and Carter, seven, with ex-England footballer and husband Wayne Bridge, 42 – was pregnant with second son Carter, and she has quipped it was definitely Wayne’s baby rather than Kevin’s.
Speaking to Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett on the ‘Dish’ podcast about her time on the dancing show, she said: “It’s a massive commitment. Again, that was actually about three months, my first son turned one while I was on the show, and then I was pregnant at the end of the show – it wasn’t Kevin’s baby, it was Wayne’s, which is like, normally the opposite way round on there, so I did well.
“It was amazing, it’s a show that I’ve watched, sat and watched with my mum and dad when I was younger, and my nan and grandad, and like you know, it’s sparkly and it’s fun, you get to try something new and learn something new, and I loved it, but it was stressful, and like, near the end I was like, yeah I’m ready for this to end now.
“My career has been made out of walking as a five in a straight line and putting my hands on my hips, that is it. Let’s be honest, I’m not a trained dancer and sometimes I was rehearsing 10 hours a day.”
Last year, the 33-year-old singer appeared on ITV’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, finishing third.
The hit reality show, which usually takes place in Australia, was filmed in North Wales’ Gwrych Castle in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite the freezing temperatures in the historic building, Frankie preferred not to be too far away from her boys.
She said: “I’ve always wanted to do it, I feel like it’s kind of like a rite of passage, but the thought of being on the other side of the world to my kids kind of always put me off, even though I wouldn’t be able to see them or speak to them, that would just be a step too far.
“When it was in Wales I was like, ‘OK, cool, this is the time to do it.’ But then, freezing. Should of ditched the kids and gone with Australia.”
Dish, hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, is available on all podcast providers now.

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Kelly is dating ‘Line of Duty’ star Tony Pitts.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Katherine and Tony have been dating for some time. It is well known among their family and friends.

“They have met one another’s families and went on holiday together with their respective children earlier this year.
“Katherine is incredibly happy with Tony and it’s clear they are a really good match.”
In August 2020, Katherine confirmed she had split from her husband Ryan Clark, with whom she shares daughters Orla, eight, and Rose, five,

The plot follows Jess and Bill Walker, who are doing their best to keep the family together as their children grow older, more independent and more distant.

He recalled: “Zach and Bradley nurtured me through it, so the lesson there is: How meaningful it is to support each other in a really tough circumstance. In all those ‘Hangover’ movies, we shared the sense that we were a team. These productions were really fun but also really demanding and intense and it was important to show up for each other.
“There was just a deep shared respect and team spirit. There was an intense professional ethos on those sets that I really appreciated and learned a lot from. It pushed me to rise to the occasion.”

Easy Rider reboot in development

OHMYGOSSIP — An ‘Easy Rider’ reboot is in the works.
The classic 1969 film starred Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson and is credited with showcasing the changing socio-political landscape in America at the time.
The drug-laden motorcycle epic was directed by Hopper and received two Oscar nominations for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Nicholson.
A consortium of producers – including Maurice Fadida’s Kodiak Pictures, Defiant Studios’ Eric B. Fleischmann and the Jean Boulle Group – own the adaptation rights to the film that was originally released by Columbia Pictures.
The team behind the reimagining are looking for bold writers and director to update the project for modern times.
Fadida told Variety: “Our goal is to build upon the counterculture and freedom narrative the original left us with, and give the youth of today a film that pays serious attention to their own countercultures and challenges.
“What the young viewers of today are experiencing in their everyday lives may seem crazy to older generations, but it can be very well become the societal norm, as was the case with the cultural shift of the late 1960s. We are hoping to play a part in that shift.”
‘Easy Rider’ featured Hopper and Fonda as two bikers who travel across the American Southwest and South with the proceeds of a cocaine deal. Real drugs were used in scenes showing the use of marijuana and other substances. Fonda and Hopper wrote the film together with Terry Southern.
The movie earned $60 million worldwide from a filming budget of $400,000 and was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in 1998 for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.

James Argent has no plans to live with girlfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — James Argent is “absolutely not” moving in with his girlfriend.
The 34-year-old reality star struck up a romance with 18-year-old Stella Turian after they met in Mykonos this summer, and while he’s going to be spending Christmas with the Italian singer-and-actress, they are both planning to continue living in their home countries for the time being.
He said: “We’re boyfriend and girlfriend but we’re absolutely not moving in together.
“She’s super-busy with her work in Italy and I’m super-busy with my work in London and Essex.
“But we’re going to continue to make the effort to travel to see each other and I’m sure we can make it work.
“She loves Essex and London and I love Italy, so it’s all good.”
Arg has been upfront with Stella about his struggles with addiction and says she is “extremely supportive” of him.
He told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “We’ve got an amazing connection. She is extremely supportive.
“And she knows everything there is to know about me.
“I’ve sat down with her and explained all the things that I’ve gone through in my life, the ups and downs I’ve had.”
The ‘TOWIE’ star met Stella in June when he was on the Greek island for a friend’s wedding, and they exchanged numbers after serenading one another.
He said: “We bumped into each other at a place called Nammos and just had a nice chat.
“She showed me some clips of her singing and I showed some clips of me singing.
“I love singing Rat Pack tunes and she sings these beautiful Italian love songs, so we serenaded each other. We exchanged numbers.
“After she did a singing performance, she’d send me a video of it and I’d have a look and I’d do the same when I was performing with my band.
“She gave my singing her seal of approval, too!”
The pair continued messaging throughout the summer and when Arg realised he was falling for Stella, he decided to fly out to Verona to see her, and things went very well.
He said: “By September I felt I had to see her properly to find out if we were going to be more than friends, so I plucked up the courage and flew out to Italy to see her.
“We’d only met that once in Mykonos and had spoken a lot on the phone and FaceTime.
“I was incredibly nervous going out there because I thought she might see me and there might not be a connection.
“The second we saw each other that day we realised there was an amazing link between us and that we would like to be more than friends, and it’s just grown.”

Claudia Winkleman ‘didn’t know’ who Hamza Yassin was

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Winkleman didn’t know who Hamza Yassin was when he signed up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 50-year-old presenter insisted it “doesn’t matter” if she isn’t aware of all the celebrity contestants on the show – which she co-hosts with Tess Daly – but she’s now a huge fan of the wildlife presenter, who is one of the favourites to win this year’s show with partner Jowita Przystal.
Asked if she knows who all the celebrities on the show are, she said: “It doesn’t matter. I mean, I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t know Hamza. Hamza, by the way, I am going to steal.”
Asked if she really wants to have an affair with Hamza, she exclaimed: “No, of course not! No, no! It’s leaving a pan in the sink for somebody else to wash. It’s the same level. Not fine. Entitlement on any level is wrong.”
While many viewers love to speculate about possible romances between the contestants and the dancers, Claudia – who has Jake, 19, Matilda, 16, and Arthur, 11, with husband Kris Thykier – insisted it isn’t a topic of conversation in her own household and there’d not be much to say if it was.
She told The Times magazine: There are no romances. I don’t know what you’re talking about. I can’t imagine.”
Asked if she talks about it at home, she replied: “No. Well, at home, the 11 year old is still interested. I don’t know where the 16 year old thinks I am at night. I have my phone on during ‘Strictly’ and she’ll often text me, ‘Mum, have we got any jam?’ ”
Despite her years working on the show, Claudia insisted she isn’t “famous” because ‘Strictly’ is about so much more than its presenters.
She said: “James Corden is famous. You know people are famous when you walk down the street with them. You and I could walk down the street – and we can put it to the test – with me in full sequins, humming the ‘Strictly’ theme, and I could go, ‘The scores are in,’ very loudly from the top of Marble Arch. And nobody would look up.
“I’m not being disingenuous. There are lots of shows that are about the host. ‘Strictly’ isn’t. ‘Strictly’ is as much about the judges, Dave Arch [the musical director], Katya [Jones, the dancer] and the amazing props people, who can put up a gazebo in under ten seconds and turn the whole thing into ‘Jurassic Park’.”
And ‘The Traitors’ host is still uncertain whether she wants to be a presenter or now.
She admitted: “I didn’t [want to be a presenter].That was not my aim. I mean, I still might not want to be a presenter. When my daughter says, ‘What am I going to do?’ I say, ‘I don’t know but there is no rush to work it out. I don’t know either.’ ”

Jennifer Grey teases ‘a few’ returning characters for Dirty Dancing sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Grey has teased “a few other characters” will be returning for the ‘Dirty Dancing’ sequel.
The 62-year-old actress will reprise her role as Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman in the long-awaited follow-up to the 1987 classic movie and she’s revealed she won’t be the only familiar face that audiences get to see.
She said: “It’s happening. [We’re not filming] until the spring…
“Baby is quite a few years older. You will see a few other characters from the original.
“It’s tricky and also exciting.”
And Jennifer confirmed the sequel will share the same setting as the original.
She told ‘Extra’: “I would say that you can count on it being at Kellerman’s, returning to Kellerman’s.”
Jennifer, who will also executive produce the sequel, previously confirmed the late Patrick Swayze’s role as Johnny Castle won’t be recast.
She said: “All I can say is there is no replacing anyone who’s passed — you never try to repeat anything that’s magic like that.
“You just go for something different.”
But director Jonathan Levine has teased that Johnny will still be “a part” of the plot.
He said: “Johnny is a part of Baby’s journey in the story.”
The filmmaker has also promised fans he won’t “ruin [their] childhood” by tainting their memories of the original with the sequel.
He said: “While the original ‘Dirty Dancing’ has always been one of my favourite films, I never imagined I would direct the sequel.
“Through co-writing it, I fell in love with the characters (new and old), the world of 1990s Catskills New York, and the music, which will range from songs from the original movie to ‘90s hip-hop.
“I can’t wait to collaborate with Jennifer to bring this beautiful story of summer and romance and dancing to a generation of new fans.
“And to the longtime ones, I promise we will not ruin your childhood. We will tackle the assignment with sophistication, ambition, and, above all, love.”

Haunted Mansion actors given crystal balls to get into paranormal mindset

OHMYGOSSIP — Every actor in the new ‘Haunted Mansion’ was given a crystal ball to “tune into paranormal thinking.”
The live-action Disney remake’s director Justin Simien has revealed he did everything to ensure the psychics and paranormal experts come across as “authentic” as possible.
He told Empire magazine he gave them the fortune-telling sphere to “bring clarity, amplify energy … just tune into paranormal thinking, so it felt authentic on screen.”
The starry cast includes Jamie Lee Curtis, LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Rosario Dawson, and Danny DeVito.
The movie will focus on a mother and her son as they stumble on a mansion with a mysterious past.
They then find themselves meeting a whole host of eclectic characters.
The movie will be the second adaptation of the Disney ride after 2003’s ‘Haunted Mansion’ starring Eddie Murphy, Nathaniel Parker and Jennifer Tilly. Katie Dippold is in charge of the script.
‘Aladdin’ co-producers Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are on board via their Rideback company.
Production got underway in Atlanta and New Orleans last year, and the latter city hints at the original attraction which is set in New Orleans Square.
While Jamie’s character of Madame Leota, a clairvoyant Romani spirit, requires her to look into a crystal ball, the ‘Freaky Friday’ star recently revealed she avoids looking in the mirror.
The movie star checks her reflection when she’s carrying out tasks that require her to do so, but she doesn’t spend a lot of time scrutinising her appearance because she doesn’t want to be critical of herself.
She said earlier this year: “When I brush my teeth, of course, I look in the mirror. When I pluck my eyebrows, of course, I look in a mirror. But when I get out of a shower, I just don’t stare at my now 63-year-old body in the mirror,
“I’m not denying what I look like, of course I’ve seen what I look like. I am trying to live in acceptance. If I look in the mirror, it’s harder for me to be in acceptance. I’m more critical. Whereas, if I just don’t look, I’m not so worried about it.”

Ellie Taylor eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Taylor has been eliminated from ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’
The 38-year-old comedienne had been taking part in the BBC Latin and Ballroom competition alongside professional partner Johannes Radebe but was knocked out of the show on Sunday (27.11.22) after facing ‘X Factor’ star Fleur East and Vito Coppola in the dance-off.
Following her elimination, Ellie told host Tess Daly: “It has and it’s been, I’m going to be a cliché machine now, buts it’s been everything and more. I never in a million years expected to be in for this long and to experience it so fully. Strictly is about dancing but it’s also about the people, and every part of this show from the top to bottom, from the Execs to the make-up, to the hair to the costumes, to the sets to the band, to my fellow celebs and the dancers – even some of
the judges have been alright! It’s been an absolute privilege to become part of the Strictly alumni and I’ve really really loved it.”
The former ‘Plebs’ star performed her Jive to ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ by Van Morrison in an effort to stay in the competition but Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all opted to save Fleur and Vito, with head judge Shirley Ballas admitting that she would have voted the same.
Shirley told the couple: “Both couples danced exceptionally well but on this occasion, down to the
technique qualities, I’d have saved Fleur and Vito.”
The remaining six couples will take to the dancefloor next week when Strictly Come Dancing will air
live on Friday 2 December at 8:00pm, with the results show on Saturday 3 December on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Ellie and Johannes will be joining Janette Manrara for their first exclusive televised interview live on
‘Strictly It Takes Two’ on Monday 28 November at 6:30pm on BBC Two.

finishes in 3rd place on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Hancock has finished in third place on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’
The 44-year-old politician – who served as the UK’s health secretary during the COVID-19 pandemic – had made it to the final of the ITV reality show alongside ‘Hollyoaks’ star Owen Warner, 23, and footballer Jill Scott, 35, but missed out on being crowned King of the Jungle after 21 days at the last hurdle on Sunday (27.11.22).
Reflecting on his time in the jungle over a glass of champagne, he told Ant and Dec: “I remember all those things but I was like ‘Oh God did I really say all that?’ I just wanted to show what I’m like as a person. Lots of people come to me with preconceived ideas for obvious reasons and I just wanted ti to be myself. I strongly believe that politicians as a whole don’t come across as human.”
The MP – who served as Camp Leader and was voted to do six consecutive trials by the public during his time on the show – added that he was “nervous” when he first entered the jungle with comedian Seann Walsh but wanted people to get to know the real version of himself.
I was [nervous]. When I first walked in there was just Seann and we got slightly giddy. He makes everybody look good and then when we walked into the main camp and they already had their dynamics that was quite…but as I say, people think they know me but they don’t. They know Matt Hancock from the TV and the media.”
Matt – who was famously questioned by ITV newsreader Charlene White over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and how he broke his own social distancing guidelines when he was caught having an affair with aide Gina Coladangelo – added that he was expecting to be grilled by his co-stars but appreciated having “grown-up conversations.
He said: “I was expecting to be grilled and some were really enjoyable and a release because I could say exactly what I thought but some of them got very emotional. I live with those reactions and I feel it bit what I was able to do – one of the things I’m really grateful for – is that we had grown-up conversations. There were discussions, but no aggro.”
“I know it was controversial, me coming here. I knew that people had said I shouldn’t. We’ve all got lots of sides to our personalities and there’s the serious one but there’s also the lighter side of me. I just decided I was going to go in there and be myself as if the cameras weren’t there and that’s what I did.”
Before leaving the reality show for the final time and being met by Gina at the end of the bridge, Matt was asked who he wants to finish in first place tonight.
He said: “That’s an impossible question! Definitely Jill.”

Jill Scott wins ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jill Scott has won ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’
The 35-year-old footballer survived 23 days in the Australian outback while competing on the ITV reality show and was crowned Queen of the Jungle on Sunday (27.11.22), beating ‘Hollyoaks’ star Owen Warner, 23, to the winning title and was shocked upon hearing the result.
She said: “I can’t believe this. I just can’t believe it. Honestly, I’m gonna owe my, grandma, a lot of money for the 12 million votes that came in. It’s definitely hard to take in. These guys have been incredible, there shouldn’t be just one winner, we couldn’t have got through it without each other.”
The Lioness was then crowned by fourth-placed campmate Mike Tindall and could be heard crying “Oh my God, wow!” as she walked across the bridge on her way out of the jungle as she was hugged by her partner Shelly Unnit.
Following the result, soap actor Owen was pleased for his co-star and claimed that no-one deserved the victory more before running off to be hugged by his mum Polly.
He said: “I’m so gassed for Jill, I think everyone agrees. No one deserves it more than Jill!”
Just moments before hearing of her victory, Jill – who was part of the England team when they won the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 – urged children to go into the sport as she explained her experience as part of her team had helped her with her time on the show.
She said: “I always say that’s why kids need to go into sport – it’s not about going to the highest level or anything. It’s about supporting, winning, losing, and hard work. I think, you dunno how you’re gonna react to rats but I think all those years playing for incredible teams helped me. . I was trying to tone it down at first thinking ‘Come On Jill, you’re live on ITV, your grandma is watching, your nieces are watching’, but then as it went on you just forgot you were on a TV show. ”
Earlier in the show, MP Matt Hancock finished in third place and explained upon leaving the show that he wanted to “be himself” for the public.
He said: “I remember all those things but I was like ‘Oh God did I really say all that?’ I just wanted to show what I’m like as a person. Lots of people come to me with preconceived ideas for obvious reasons and I just wanted to be myself. I strongly believe that politicians as a whole don’t come across as human.”

The Apprentice in line for spin-off show

OHMYGOSSIP — The creators of ‘The Apprentice’ are reportedly considering a new spin-off show to focus on young talent in the tech industry.
The BBC contest has been fronted by 75-year-old businessman Lord Alan Sugar since 2005 and has already spawned a children’s spin-off series called ‘Young Apprentice’ as well as a celebrity version for Comic Relief and now a new report suggests bosses behind the show are considering another version to shine a light on innovators in their late teens and early twenties with a younger mogul in the chair.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Of course Lord Sugar would be the automatic first thought when developing any kind of UK show relating to ‘The Apprentice’.
“But the blue sky thinkers at production company Naked have toyed with the idea of someone else doing the hiring and firing in the new version.
“And that someone might be an individual closer to the age of those taking part and have more experience in the tech world of the 2020s.”
The reports suggest the new show could ditch the usual power suits seen on the original series in favour of a more relaxed dress code for the candidates.
The original show has been on air for 17 years and has been led by Lord Sugar along with watchful assistants who have included Nick Hewer, Margaret Mountford, Karren Brady, Claude Littner and Tim Campbell, who won the first season of the show back in 2005.
The show is slated to return to TV once again in 2023 and will reportedly feature an extended line-up with two extra candidates vying for the chance to become Lord Sugar’s latest business partner.
