Amy Childs is ‘so done’ with Elf on the Shelf

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Childs is “so done” with The Elf on the Shelf.
The 32-year-old reality star is mum to Polly, five, and Ritchie, four, from previous relationships but is currently expecting twins with boyfriend Billy Delbosq and is sick of having to wake up early to hide the festive doll for her children as part of the popular game in the run-up to Christmas Day.
She said: “I’m so done with The Elf on the Shelf. Do you know what? The Elf can just go home. I’m honestly waking up at like 6 o’clock in the morning thinking, “What do I have to do today?”. As much as it’s so magical and I love seeing Polly’s face every morning, I’m just a little bit over it – as I’m sure many parents can agree!
“Billy loves it though. He’s just a big kid. The other day we did one where two of the elves had a pool party with Barbie. It was so random and really stupid, but we laughed. Polly loved it.”
Meanwhile, the ‘TOWIE’ star went on to add that while her pregnancy has brought her closer to her partner, the pair have still had the odd disagreement, with the latest one being about whether to give the baby a dummy.
Writing in her OK! column, she added: “Me being pregnant has definitely brought me and Billy closer, but we’ve obviously had our disagreements as well. We had a disagreement the other day where Billy said when the babies come, if they’re asleep he’d just go and pick them up. I was like ‘Why could you do that?’
“It has brought us closer though, especially as Bill has no children of his own. We’re having all these firsts together. He’s always wanted to be a dad.”

Helen George ‘fangirled’ over Jonathan Van-Tam

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen George “fangirled” over Professor Jonathan Van-Tam “like he was Justin Bieber”.
The 38-year-old actress was stunned when the former Deputy Chief Medical Officer visited the set of her show ‘Call the Midwife’ and admitted she was more than happy to pose for a selfie with him.
She said: “We had a really amazing visitor down to set one week – Professor Jonathan Van-Tam visited us, he was such a celebrity.
“Honestly, I was fangirling over him like he was Justin Bieber, like, ‘Oh my God, what are you doing here?’
“He’s friends with Judy [Parfitt, who plays Sister Monica Joan].
“He really loves the show and it’s always amazing when a medical professional loves the show, especially someone who’s done amazing work like him.”
Asked if he wanted selfies with the cast, she admitted: “He did!”
According to Helen, Jonathan was just as excited when Judy first contacted him as the cast were when he came to set.
She said in a recent interview: “He came down because Judy had emailed him – she got hold of his email address during Covid, to just ask a few questions, you know, at the beginning of Covid, and he apparently got the email and went, ‘Oh my God, Sister Monica Joan’s emailing me!’
“And they started up this sort of friendship, so she brought him to set.”
However, the blonde beauty dismissed suggestions Jonathan may land a cameo role on the show.
Asked about the possibility, she said: “Oh no, that’s just hearsay…”

James Cameron wanted to avoid ‘Stranger Things effect’ on Avatar sequels

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron shot the ‘Avatar’ sequels together to avoid “the ‘Stranger Things’ effect”.
The 68-year-old filmmaker cast Trinity Jo-Li Bliss as Tuk when she was around seven years old and she is now 13, while 18-year-old Jack Champion was 12 and “growing like a weed” when he was brought in to play Spider, so he decided to film new movie ‘The Way of Water’ at the same time as the third installment and part of the fourth in order to avoid his young co-stars growing rapidly over the course of a more spaced-out filming schedule and making what plays out on screen look less realistic.
He told Entertainment Weekly magazine: “Otherwise, you get — and I love ‘Stranger Things’ — but you get the ‘Stranger Things’ effect where they’re supposed to still be in high school [but] they look like they’re 27.
“You know, I love the show. It’s okay, we’ll suspend disbelief. We like the characters, but, you know.”
Although shooting three films at once was a daunting prospect, Zoe Saldana – who reprises her role as Neytiri alongside Sam Worthington as Jake Sully – insisted she was never “uncomfortable” with the plans and credited the director for his openness for things running smoothly.
He said: “We did read-throughs, we discussed extensively where we were, we defined those beats that distinguished two from three.
“So from where I was standing, I never felt that it was uncomfortable or anything, but that just has to do with the amount of time that we took in preparation for this.
“Jim makes you a part of the whole process and hears you. Every need that you have, he takes great attention to that detail and tries to the best of his ability to accommodate and incorporate your input.”

Brendan Fraser had vertigo after prosthetic removal

OHMYGOSSIP — Brendan Fraser suffered vertigo when his prosthetics were removed each day after filming ‘The Whale’.
The 54-year-old actor plays a 600lb recluse in Darren Aronofsky’s movie and while he found the “apparatus” he donned for the part to be “cumbersome”, it was very helpful to his performance, even though he ended up feeling ill without it.
He said: “Wearing the apparatus to play this role was cumbersome and with good reason – it helps.
“Look, I’m a big guy and I can perform my little heart out all I want.
“But to create the character, I had to wear a great deal of prosthetics and make-up.
“It took, on average, four hours to apply it each day and an hour to remove it. When it would come off, I had vertigo.”
Brendan’s co-stars found the prosthetics changed more than just his appearance.
Hong Chau told Empire magazine: “People have asked me what I thought when I saw him in his prosthetic suit for the first time.
“That, honestly, was not even the first thing I noticed.
“It was more the light in his eyes changed and there was just a different person.
“He truly transformed and it was not an outward transformation.”
Darren was determined for make-up and prosthetics artist Adrien Morot not to hide his lead’s face with the suit.
He said: “I want every wrinkle, every crease to be free to sing…
“Every other film we could look at did it poorly. It was often just a crude joke or punchline for, often, a character that was the punchline or was evil.
“And we were doing the exact opposite here. We wanted people to empathise with this character and believe he existed in three dimensions, in reality.”

Dwayne Johnson reveals Black Adam isn’t part of DC’s ‘first chapter’ under James Gunn

OHMYGOSSIP — Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has confirmed ‘Black Adam’ won’t be part of DC Studios’ “first chapter” under James Gunn.
The DC slate of films is undergoing a huge overhaul after Gunn and Peter Safran took over a couple of months ago, with Henry Cavill’s Superman comeback already revealed as one of the casualties of the new regime.
Now, The Rock said in a statement: “I wanted to give you a long-awaited Black Adam update regarding the character’s future in the new DC Universe.
“James Gunn and I connected, and Black Adam will not be in their first chapter of storytelling.
“However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilised in future DC multiverse chapters.”
He insisted he will “always root” for both DC and Marvel to succeed, and he remains “very proud” of ‘Black Adam’ as a movie.
He continued: “You guys know me, and I have very thick skin – and you can always count on me to be direct with my words.
“These decisions made by James and DC leadership represent their vision of DCU through their creative lens.
“After 15 years of relentless hard work to finally make Black Adam, I’m very proud of the film we delivered for fans worldwide.
“I will always look back on the fan reaction to Black Adam with tremendous gratitude, humility and love. We did great.”
He also promised to “always listen” to fans, and joked he needed some of his own Tequila after an eventful few weeks.
He added: “To my very passionate and vocal Black Adam/Super Hero genre fans – I love you, THANK YOU, and I will ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOU and do my best to deliver and entertain you.
“What a helluva month – now we all need some Teremana!”
Responding to Johnson’s statement, Gunn teased plans to “collaborate” in the near future.
He tweeted: “Love the Rock, and I’m always excited to see what he and Seven Bucks do next. Can’t wait to collaborate soon.”

James Cameron confirms discussions for Terminator reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron confirms a ‘Terminator’ reboot is “in discussion”.
The 68-year-old filmmaker has addressed the future of his longrunning franchise, which started with the original sci-fi classic in 1984 but stuttered with 2019’s ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’.
Revealing his ideas for a seventh movie, he told the ‘Smartless’ podcast: “If I were to do another ‘Terminator’ film and maybe try to launch that franchise again, which is in discussion, but nothing has been decided, I would make it much more about the AI side of it than bad robots gone crazy.”
‘Dark Fate’ was helmed by ‘Deadpool’ director Tim Miller from a story by Cameron himself, and was seen as a revival of the franchise with original stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton reuniting as the T-800 Terminator and Sarah Connor respectively.
While Cameron was “reasonably happy” with the movie, there was a clash between himself and the director when it came to bringing back the original cast members.
Whereas Cameron refused to make the film without Arnie, Miller was only keen to have Hamilton return.
The ‘Avatar’ filmmaker explained: “I think the movie could have survived having Linda in it.
“I think it could have survived having Arnold in it, but when you put Linda and Arnold in it and then, you know, she’s 60-something, he’s 70-something, all of a sudden it wasn’t your ‘Terminator’ movie, it wasn’t even your dad’s ‘Terminator’ movie, it was your granddad’s ‘Terminator’ movie.
“And we didn’t see that… We loved it, we thought it was cool.”
Cameron directed and co-wrote the original ‘Terminator’ film and its 1991 sequel ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’, but had no involvement at all with follow-ups ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines’ (2003), ‘Terminator Salvation’ (2009) and ‘Terminator Genisys’ (2015), which got slammed by critics.

Patsy Kensit confirms EastEnders role

OHMYGOSSIP — Patsy Kensit has confirmed she is joining ‘EastEnders’.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star will portray Emma Harding, the never seen before mother of Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold), and 54-year-old actress admitted it has always been a dream to appear in the BBC One soap.
She said: “I’m so excited to be visiting Walford for this storyline.
“It has always been a dream of mine to appear in ‘EastEnders’.
“The cast, producers, writers and crew have been wonderful, and I’ve had a ball. Thank you so much for having me.”
Emma has never been seen on screen before, after the character left Lola and her father when the hairdresser was only three years old.
Chris Clenshaw, Exec Producer adds: “We’re delighted to welcome the wonderfully talented Patsy to the ‘EastEnders’ family.
“She’s the perfect fit to take on the role of such a long-awaited character that we know very little about. Softly spoken and measured, on one hand Emma is the very opposite of her long-lost daughter, Lola.
“But on the other, there’s a striking resemblance; successful, the capacity to hold her own – if she says she’ll do something, she’ll do it – and she’s a fighter, just like Lola.
“Having spent a lifetime apart, Emma becomes desperate to make up for lost time, but her secret sadness and guilt are never far from the surface.
“The burden of losing her daughter has never left her, but can she find the courage to tell her shocking truth and reconnect with Lola, or will it come too little, too late? Patsy’s portrayal is bound to set off fireworks in Walford and cause havoc for the Mitchell household.”
Patsy is no stranger to soaps, having starred as Sadie King in ‘Emmerdale’ from 2004 to 2006, and she portrayed former show Holby City’s Faye Morton from 2007 to 2010, before returning for the 20th anniversary celebrations in 2019.
She will appear on screen as EastEnders’ Emma next month.

Emmerdale’s star Jay Kontzle names third child

OHMYGOSSIP — Jay Kontzle has named his third child Xiao.
The 32-year-old star, who portrays ‘Emmerdale’ character Billy Fletcher, took to Instagram to reveal his latest arrival’s moniker, and joked he hopes that his family is now “complete”.
He wrote: “Introducing Xiao Kui Kontzle born 18/11/22
Family complete (I hope!) (sic)”
Jay – who shares KaiBo, six and Zian, four, with his wife Mimi Kontzle – revealed last month that they had welcomed their third child into the world.
The soap star and artist Mimi said at the time: “We’re excited to announce that on Friday 18th November we were blessed with our third child.
“Mummy did amazing and both her and the baby are healthy and well.”
Jay joked: “Here’s hoping it’s our last!”
The couple revealed in July that they were expecting another baby.
Jay said: “Mimi called me during my lunch break on set and told me.
“I was sitting eating lunch in the sun and all of a sudden I went hot and started dripping with sweat. I was a bit shocked!
“Before that, Mimi had said she wanted to get a pregnancy test and I said, ‘A pregnancy test? That’s a lot of money that, especially with the cost of living going up.’
“Then I was in work and she decided to throw a spanner in the works over lunch!
“It’s a great thing to be going through again. I think it’s just the fact that we got to an age with our other two where they’re old enough and there’s no nappies and bottles, and we got our sleep back.
“I was settled with our two and I didn’t think we’d be having another one – but Mimi already had it planned. She likes to act like she’s not sly but she is!”
Mimi admitted that she had been “winding up” her husband about longing for another little one.
She said: “I’d been winding Jay up for months before, saying I really wanted another child – but his answer was always no.
“So I think that made me want another one more, basically just to be spiteful. But then it kind of backfired and I did end up getting pregnant.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bob Dylan loves to binge ‘Coronation Street’.
The legendary singer-songwriter has told how he is a huge fan of the goings-on in the fictional northern English town of Weatherfield in the ITV soap, and he also has a penchant for watching ‘Father Brown’, a series about a fictional Roman Catholic priest and amateur detective.
He said: “I recently binged: ‘Coronation Street’, ‘Father Brown’ and some early ‘Twilight Zones’. (sic)”
Bob – who was born in Minnesota, US – admits the programmes make him feel “at home”, and he much prefers to watch the likes of ‘Corrie’ and ‘Father Brown’, which features ‘Harry Potter’ star Mark Williams as the titular character, than “foul-smelling or evil” shows.
He added to The Wall Street Journal newspaper: “I know they’re old-fashioned, but they make me feel at home.
“I’m no fan of packaged programs or news shows. I never watch anything foul-smelling or evil. Nothing disgusting, nothing dog a**.”
Bob is not the only legendary rocker who loves ‘Corrie’.
Sir Mick Jagger made a quip about ‘Coronation Street’ serial killer Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) during the band’s Old Trafford gig in Manchester in 2018.
He told the crowd: “We went to the Northern Quarter. We went down the Curry Mile and I think I saw Pat Phelan. He was eating some papadums!”
Just days later, pop star Katy Perry admitted she watches ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘EastEnders’ when she visits the UK.

Paige Thorne has quit alcohol

OHMYGOSSIP — Paige Thorne has quit alcohol.
The former ‘Love Island’ star has gone teetotal because she has been “really struggling” with herself, and isn’t a fan of who she is when she’s under the influence.
The 25-year-old reality TV star said: “I’ve been struggling lately, really struggling with who I am and have not been in a good place. I’ve given up alcohol, it’s been three weeks now, because I’ve realised that I don’t like the person I become when I drink.
“So until I’m in a safe and happy place I want to stop drinking.”
Paige feels she has to “love” herself before she embarks on another relationship, following her split from Adam Collard, who she got together with on the ITV2 dating competition, and her brief romance with fellow former co-star Jacques O’Neill.
She said: “You’ve got to love yourself, otherwise nobody else will.
“I’m happy being single and I’d love to go on a girl’s holiday next year.”
The paramedic also opened up about her Christmas traditions.
Paige added to The Sun newspaper: “We’ll all be going to my mum’s house – it’s the last year we’ll be keeping this tradition as we’ll be travelling next year, so it’s very sentimental.”
Last month, it was reported that Paige and Jacques had been hanging out after they hit it off in the villa this summer.
A source said: “Paige and Jacques clearly got on really well with each other on the show.
“They have hung out whenever they see each other and one thing has led to another.”

The 63-year-old filmmaker is working on the film for his production company Raimi Productions alongside Alex Lebovici’s Hammerstone Productions and Christian Mercuri’s Capstone Studios.
‘Don’t Move’ tells the story of a killer who injects a woman with a paralytic agent that forces her to run, fight and hide before her body shuts down.
The movie is being directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto – who have helmed episodes of Raimi’s horror TV series ’50 Stages of Fright’ – from a script written by T.J. Cimfel and David White.
Raimi said: “Alex and the team at Hammerstone as well as our friends at Capstone are the ideal production partners as we bring this compelling and twisted tale to light.
“I am delighted to collaborate again with our co-directors Adam and Brian on this incredibly frightening and tense story full of so many twists and turns – it will deliver a fantastic horror punch to the audience!”
Sam has a rich history in the horror genre after creating the ‘Evil Dead’ franchise and explained how he wanted to include a “flavour” of horror in his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) blockbuster ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’.
In response to comments by Marvel chief Kevin Feige saying that ‘Evil Dead’ fans would enjoy the film, Sam said: “I think what (Kevin) meant, from my point of view, is that this film has a flavour of horror to it.
“I think when the original director, Scott Derrickson, and Kevin promoted the coming of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, they said it was going to be the first Marvel superhero film that had an element of horror to it.”

“Anjelica Huston is an icon and is nothing less than Hollywood royalty. The world of Wick is always made richer by her commanding screen presence.”

Andrew Still joining Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Still is joining ‘Coronation Street’.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star is heading to the cobbles of the ITV1 soap in a recurring guest spot as character Justin.
Andrew previously starred as Joel Dexter in the Channel 4 soap between 2011 and 2013, a role assumed by Rory Douglas-Speed.
After leaving the fictional Cheshire town, the soap star played Scott Fairchild in the long-running BBC school drama ‘Waterloo Road’ for a year’ until 2015.
Andrew – who made his return to acting with the movie ‘Nobody Has to Know with ex ‘Game of Thrones’ star Michelle Fairley – can be currently seen as Rory Dashford in ‘Granite Harbour’, a BBC one drama which last week.
The ex ‘Hollyoaks Later’ star has spoken about going through a number of out of work “periods” in the acting industry.
Andrew said in 2015: “After I came out of ‘Hollyoaks’, I had one of those periods where you are not sure where you are going.
“You know they talk about 90 per cent of actors being out of work – well, I had the out-of-work experience. I had a year solid of getting nothing.
“Those kind of periods make you doubt yourself. I have to thank everybody at ‘Waterloo Road’ because they really gave me a chance to come out of that.
“It was a pretty rotten period but it teaches you a lot about yourself.
“I am not a big a fan of the glitz and glamour. I just want to settle down and work. So you come out of a show like ‘Hollyoaks’ and you don’t have the job but you have all the other stuff – you are still walking about the street and getting noticed.
“That’s not a terrible thing but it can be overbearing when you just want to walk through town but you end up walking fast and not making eye contact. It was a very strange time.”

Tommy Cooper’s niece found dead as man is charged with murder

OHMYGOSSIP — A man has been charged with murder after Tommy Cooper’s niece was found dead at her home.
Sabrina Cooper, 68, was discovered on Sunday (18.12.22) in Eastbourne, East Sussex, and police have since arrested Tony King, 59 – who was known to her – and charged him with one count of murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Sabrina’s dad David was the brother of late comedy legend Tommy, who died on stage from a heart attack in 1984 aged 63.
Detective Chief Inspector Emma Vickers, of Sussex Police, said: “Our thoughts are with Sabrina’s family and friends at this difficult time. We are supporting them and keeping them updated on the progress of this fast-moving investigation.
“We understand this incident will also cause upset and concern in the community, and I would like to reassure people that this is being treated as an isolated incident involving people known to each other, and with no threat to the wider public.
“We have already completed extensive inquiries and this has resulted in a person being arrested and charged within 48 hours of police initially attending the address.
“Those inquiries will continue as the case progresses through the court, and we encourage anyone with concerns or information relating to what happened to get in touch with us.”
Grandmother Sabrina is said to have been “really friendly”.
A local coffee shop worker told The Sun newspaper: “I used to see her when I popped out for a break and we’d always have a chat.
“She was really friendly and well-known locally.
“I last saw her out walking her dogs the day before she died. I’m devastated.”

Downton Abbey’s fishy problem

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Downton Abbey’ props department had to use chicken “disguised” as salmon on the set – because the real deal stank out the place.
Hugh Bonneville – who portrayed Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham, in the ITV period drama – has told how the show’s bosses had a fishy problem one day when filming a big dining room scene, because the salmon started to “absolutely honk” as it had been left out all day under the bright lights needed for filming.
He said: “I remember the very first time we had one of those big, big dining room scenes, and we had this wonderful on-set … the person who did the food for the show.
“And all the menu cards that you see dotted around the table are all genuinely filled in and accurate, and it was a salmon something or other, which at eight in the morning is, you know, nice and fresh and everything.
“By 3pm … the lights are a bit hot and, you know, and all the windows are blacked out, it absolutely honked, and, and of course no one really wanted to eat it anyway.
“So after that, anytime it said salmon on the menu cards, it was actually chicken in disguise, you know.”
Hugh also told how the food department had to chop up asparagus and pretend they were beans when they couldn’t work out whether earls would’ve used knives or their hands to chow down on the flowering plant species in the early 1900s.
He added to the ‘Dish’ podcast: “There was asparagus-gate and our on-set historical advisor, who was the fount of all knowledge, wasn’t there that day.
“We were about to embark on this asparagus thing. I said, but hang on, in 1912/ 1913, did they use their fingers or did would they have used knives? What’s the etiquette? We can’t get it wrong.
“And so, there was lots of telephone calls and we couldn’t find out, and so in the end we chopped them up and pretended they were beans.”
Dish, hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett is available on all podcast providers now.
