Miriam Margolyes finds Harry Potter fame ‘odd’

OHMYGOSSIP — Miriam Margolyes finds it “odd” that she will always be known for her role in the ‘Harry Potter’ movie series.
The 81-year-old actress portrayed herbology professor Pomona Sprout in the wizarding franchise and despite having worked for decades before landing the part, it gave her far more fame than she ever thought possible.
She said: “It’s an odd feeling to know that, whatever else I do, I will go to my grave best known for playing Professor Pomona Sprout in two of the ‘Harry Potter’ movies.
“It made a great difference to my career, making me more famous than I ever thought possible.
“Fans follow me in the street, people ask to have their photographs taken – selfies as they call them – standing next to Professor Sprout.”
Despite its significance on her career, Miriam insisted playing Professor Sprout “wasn’t all that important” to her “development”.
She said: “In terms of my development as an artist, playing Professor Sprout wasn’t all that important because she was well within my capabilities as an actress.
“But in terms of marketability, it made an enormous difference.
Meanwhile, the ‘Age of Innocence’ actress admitted her biggest concern for her career now she’s getting older is if her memory starts to falter, making it harder to learn lines.
She told My Weekly magazine: “My main fear about growing old as an actor is not losing the looks – I never had any to speak of, and what I had I’ve still got – but losing the memory is another matter.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Faiers has revealed her Christmas was ruined by a nasty bout of flu.
The 31-year-old reality TV star has told fans she was struck down with the illness shortly before the festivities and it wiped her out for more than a week – and she was devastated not to have been able to enjoy the holiday season.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Hey, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I’ve been quiet on here as I was struck down with the worst possible flu you can imagine.
“After 8 days today I’m starting to feel a bit better. So upset it happened over my favourite week of the entire year.”
Sam posted the message to fans to assure them she’s now recovering and feeling a bit better. She added: “Anyway I’m just so happy I’m on the mend.”

She told fans: “Paul Rosie’s first ever time on the real slopes … so proud of these two! Thank you Paolo for being a great coach.
“As you can see the skiing conditions were tricky today and visibility was tough. Such an amazing experience watching my babies ski down a (nursery) mountain.”

James Cameron cut 10 minutes of Avatar: The Way of Water due to gun violence

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron cut 10 minutes of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ containing guns.
The ‘Titanic’ director has explained that he did not wish to “fetishize the gun” amid America’s struggle for gun control and so he scrapped the gunplay action from the flick.
The filmmaker told Esquire Middle East: “I had a bit of a crisis of faith as we were cutting the movie together. It was too violent. I wanted a balance between the beauty, the epiphany, the kind of spiritual aspect of the film, with the action, and I felt it had gotten a little too grim.
“Violence and action are the same thing, depending on how you look at it. This is the dilemma of every action filmmaker, and I’m known as an action filmmaker.”
Cameron has helmed violent ‘Terminator’ and ‘Rambo’ movies in the past.
He added: “I look back on some films that I’ve made, and I don’t know if I would want to make that film now. I don’t know if I would want to fetishize the gun, like I did on a couple of ‘Terminator’ movies 30-plus years ago, in our current world. What’s happening with guns in our society turns my stomach.
I’m happy to be living in New Zealand where they just banned all assault rifles two weeks after that horrific mosque shooting a couple of years ago.”
Meanwhile, Cameron has confirmed a ‘Terminator’ reboot is “in discussion”.
The 68-year-old movie maker addressed the future of his long-running franchise, which started with the original sci-fi classic in 1984 but stuttered with 2019’s ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’, and his ideas for a seventh movie.
He told the ‘Smartless’ podcast: “If I were to do another ‘Terminator’ film and maybe try to launch that franchise again, which is in discussion, but nothing has been decided, I would make it much more about the AI side of it than bad robots gone crazy.”
‘Dark Fate’ was helmed by ‘Deadpool’ director Tim Miller from a story by Cameron himself, and was seen as a revival of the franchise with original stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton reuniting as the T-800 Terminator and Sarah Connor, respectively.
While Cameron was “reasonably happy” with the movie, there was a clash between himself and the director when it came to bringing back the original cast members.
Whereas Cameron refused to make the film without Arnie, Miller was only keen to have Hamilton return.
He explained: “I think the movie could have survived having Linda in it.
“I think it could have survived having Arnold in it, but when you put Linda and Arnold in it and then, you know, she’s 60-something, he’s 70-something, all of a sudden it wasn’t your ‘Terminator’ movie, it wasn’t even your dad’s ‘Terminator’ movie, it was your granddad’s ‘Terminator’ movie.
“And we didn’t see that… We loved it, we thought it was cool.”
Cameron directed and co-wrote the original ‘Terminator’ film and its 1991 sequel ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’, but had no involvement at all with follow-ups ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines’ (2003), ‘Terminator Salvation’ (2009) and ‘Terminator Genisys’ (2015), which got slammed by critics.

Rylan Clark ‘sadly’ denies having a new man in his life

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark has denied he has a new man in his life.
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ host’s fans thought a bar of chocolate on a leg was another man’s leg and sparked speculation the TV personality has a new lover.
However, Rylan quickly clarified that it was “sadly” his own leg.
The image on his Instagram Story was captioned: “That’s me sorrrted. (sic)”
He responded: “Not a chocolate ice pack. Not someone else’s leg… sadly.”
The 34-year-old star split from husband Dan Neal last year, and he has insisted he doesn’t care if his next boyfriend “works in Sainsbury’s or he’s a “Hollywood A-lister”.
He shared: “My dream man is someone f****** decent, who is proud of me, who is happy when I walk through the door, who treats me with f****** respect, who loves me, makes me laugh and me do exactly the same for them – that’s my dream man.
“I don’t care if he works in Sainsbury’s or he’s a Hollywood A-lister.”
Rylan has been on a few dates since the breakup – but he still hasn’t found his ideal man.
He said: “I’ve been on a few things and stuff but it’s always going to be difficult being Rylan.
“I’m not really thinking about dating.
“It’s going to take someone who is going to really make me go wow after what I’ve been through.”
Meanwhile, Rylan recently penned a tell-all memoir to celebrate his 10 years in the entertainment industry.
The ‘Supermarket Sweep’ host hopes his fans will “have a good laugh and cry” when they read ‘TEN: The decade that changed my future’.
Rylan said: “I’ve learned so much from my decade in the business and I’m genuinely excited to be writing again.
“It’s been a tough couple of years, for so many of us, and last year was one of my toughest yet, so I’m pleased to have the opportunity to talk about the lessons I’ve learned along the way. You’ll hopefully have a good laugh and cry with me too.
“I started off as the joke, and here I am, ten years later, still laughing.”

Kirstie Allsopp loves being famous

OHMYGOSSIP — Kirstie Allsopp loves being famous.
The ‘Location Location Location’ presenter insisted that having a high profile from her TV work “makes life easier” and she wouldn’t change a thing.
Kirstie, 51, wrote in a column for The Telegraph newspaper: “There is an oft-whinged-about mantra that being famous is miserable, but I will tell you what – and hold on to your hats here, petals – it’s not. I hate to be so un-British, and probably common, but being famous makes life easier, not harder.
“Actors like to say that it is all about the art and the fame is an unhappy side-effect, but for the most part that is a load of twaddle.”
“When I agreed to make a non-transmittable pilot for Channel 4, I thought it would be an interesting experience and the money was good. Of course no one knew that, 22 years later, I would still be making very regular forays into the nation’s front rooms, and that therefore a large proportion of the people I interacted with on a daily basis would know my face – but that’s what happened and, on balance, lucky me.”
Kirstie added that she has seen many advantages to fame during her years in TV.
She said: “Being famous oils the wheels. People are that much more friendly and helpful, you don’t disappear in the way middle-aged women often complain about doing, and people go the extra mile for you in all sorts of situations.
“Obviously my small amount of fame is nothing compared to the Royal family or mega movie stars, but the other secret is that sensible famous people do find places where you can have a lovely time pretty quietly. I was once on holiday where I saw the then-Duchess Of Cambridge and her sister Pippa out for a run together, and on a recent trip Jennifer Aniston and the dad from ‘Ozark’ and his wife were staying in a house down the road; they were on the beach totally undisturbed. If you want to escape the paparazzi you can, and if you want to spend your days filming them filming you, you can do that too. But it’s less fun though, don’t you think?”

SAS: Who Dares Wins to move to sub-zero climate

OHMYGOSSIP — Recruits on next year’s ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ will face a harsh, freezing climate.
Producers are seeking locations which will test their contestants even more and are considering a number of countries with sub-zero temperatures.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “The team wants to switch it up by taking recruits to a country which is very, very cold.
“Just being able to exist in the sub-zero temperatures will be hard enough — never mind taking on the brutal tasks like ice-water plunges, snow treks and endurance challenges.
“They intend it to be the most hostile and unforgiving warfare environment yet.
“There are a number of locations on the table and nothing is yet set in stone.”
However, before the Channel 4 show moves to a colder climate, the latest edition, which airs on January 4 on Channel 4, will take place in the Vietnamese jungle.
Instructors Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham, Rudy Reyes and Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox are set to be joined by Chris Oliver, with Billy taking over from Rudy as head of the team.
Billy said: “There is nobody better placed than myself to lead the recruits through this treacherous environment.”
A celebrity version of the show will also follow next year, starring Matt Hancock and James Argent, before the show takes on a new sub-zero location.

Lorraine Kelly not feeling festive family pressure

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Kelly is grateful she doesn’t feel the “pressure” to see her relatives over the festive period.
The 63-year-old presenter and her husband Steve celebrated their wedding anniversary with their loved ones last month, so they think it is fine not to worry about carving out the time to see as many people between Christmas and New Year as they usually would.
Lorraine said: “Christmas will be reasonably quiet. [Our daughter] Rosie threw us a surprise party for our anniversary last month with all our friends and family so, luckily, we don’t have the pressure to see everyone.
“We’ll still do Zoom calls with the family.”
On 25 December, Lorraine planned to take on cleaning duties because her husband was doing the cooking.
She said in an interview carried out before the big day: “We’ll have our dinner later than usual as Rosie will be working until 3pm, Steve is much better at cooking so he’ll take care of it all.
“I don’t find it particularly enjoyable, whereas I do enjoy sitting with a glass of wine, watching him create something fantastic.
“I’m happy to clean up afterwards.”
Despite losing 20lbs this year, Lorraine wasn’t going to restrict her diet over the festive period.
She said: “I’ll definitely be going for it at Christmas.
“It’s only one day and you don’t want to be the party pooper.
“We’ll still have puddings and chocolates and I’m a big believer in having treats, just not every night.”

Olivia Colman reveals ‘slightly embarrassing’ moment during sex scene with Micheal Ward

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Colman had a “slightly embarrassing situation” while shooting a sex scene with Micheal Ward.
The 48-year-old star was left feeling awkward when her ‘Empire of Light’ co-star revealed her was 25 while she was straddling him.
Speaking on the New Year’s Eve special of ‘The Graham Norton Show’, she said: “There was one particular moment when I was astride Micheal in a compromising and slightly embarrassing situation and he said, ‘It’s my mum’s birthday today.’
“When he said she was 43, I was like, ‘Okay, stop talking!’”
Olivia – who played Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix’s ‘The Crown’ – was director Sam Mendes’ first choice for the role of Hilary Small in the 2022 British romantic drama.
She said: “Apparently it was. But Sam is so nice he would say that anyway. He was watching ‘The Crown’ at the time and thought of me.
“We had a Zoom conversation during lockdown and I said ‘okay, yes’ before I even knew what it was. It is an incredible accolade for him to write something for me.”
Olivia quipped: “It was an amazing part thank god – can you imagine if it had been rubbish!”
Micheal was blown away by how nice Olivia is and “learnt so much” from her.
He said: “It was an amazing experience. It was incredible just to share the same space. I learnt so much about being a real person – everyone had a real sense of humanity.
“If Olivia had been rude I might have thought that’s how I need to be to reach a certain level of success but the fact she is so lovely showed me I can be a good person and still be successful.”

Daisy Edgar-Jones had movement coach

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Edgar-Jones hired a movement coach to “shed her Britishness” for ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’.
The 24-year-old actress has the lead role of Kya in the highly-anticipated adaptation of Delia Owens’ novel and she wasted no time in immersing herself into the character.
Director Olivia Newman said: “Daisy can very easily drop into that very vulnerable, sensitive, shy place but then she also has this incredible grit and resilience that catches you off-guard.
“[She requested a movement coach] to help her shed her Britishness and get into that Southern marsh girl way of being.”
The movie is produced by Reese Witherspoon and Elizabeth Gabler’s Hello Sunshine, and while they had considered a number of big-name stars for the role, the producers quickly fell in love with Daisy’s performance in ‘Normal People’, and knew straight away when she auditioned that their instincts were right.
Elizabeth said: “We’d been watching the show and were like, ‘Let’s go to Daisy Edgar-Jones right now.’
“We sent her the script on a Thursday and she auditioned on the Sunday, by which time she’d already perfected the accent.
“Daisy brought us all to our knees in her audition, she blew us away.”
And once filming began, the ‘Fresh’ star quickly impressed people with her work ethic.
Elizabeth said in a recent interview: “From a studio’s standpoint, she’s a dream, she couldn’t be more hard-working.
“She’s in almost every scene of this movie, but she’s giving her all every single day.”
Olivia thinks Daisy will go on to have a glittering career.
She said: “She’s one of the finest actors working today. I can’t wait to see what she does next.”

Laura Anderson credits religious token with saving Gary Lucy’s life

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Anderson says a religious keepsake saved Gary Lucy’s life.
Gary’s car was totalled in a horror smash on Boxing Day (26.12.22) after he spent his first Christmas with new girlfriend Laura and he was lucky to come away with just an injured knee.
Former ‘Love Island’ contestant Laura – who met Gary on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ – believes a card of St Joseph given to Gary by his grandmother, saved his life.
She shared a picture of the card on Instagram Stories and wrote: “We’re not religious but thank you St Joseph for saving my love.
“Gary’s gran gave him this, it has words about safety and protection on the other side. I pulled it out his bag yesterday morning just before his accident.”
It was previously revealed that Gary, 41, is lucky to be alive after the car crash, which ripped his front wheels off and smashed the entire front section of his vehicle.
Gary shared a picture of the totalled car on Instagram Stories and wrote: “Someone was watching over me today.”
He was also able to joke about the ordeal, captioning one picture “Gary 9 lives”.
Laura, 33, shared a video as they left the hospital, filming Gary as he walked on crutches after being given morphine to help with his pain.
She said: “Happy Boxing Day. We’ve had a lovely time, how are you feeling on your morphine?” and Gary replied: “Pretty f****** good to be fair.”
She also posted a collage of their day, beginning with Christmas fun and ending with an injured Gary asleep on the couch.
She wrote: “The exciting life of the Luce. Always keeping me on my toes.”

Jo Joyner shocked by pin-up co-star

OHMYGOSSIP — Jo Joyner had “no idea” her ‘Riptide’ co-star Peter O’Brien used to be a ‘Neighbours’ pin-up.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress stars opposite the 62-year-old actor – who portrayed Shane Ramsay in the beloved Aussie soap – in the upcoming Channel 5 miniseries and she was stunned by how envious her friends were.
She said: “It wasn’t really until I got home [from Australia] and my mates were like, ‘I fancied him so much back in the day’.
“I wish I’d got a selfie with him. To me he was just a lovely guy.”
The 45-year-old actress – who has twins Edie and Freddie, 12 with husband Neil Madden – admitted it was a “no brainer” when it came to signing up for the series, in which she plays a woman whose husband goes missing while surfing.
She said: “It’s a great role and it came out of nowhere.
“Work was a bit quiet and I was asked for a Zoom meeting by the producers of ‘Riptide’, who told me the whole story and said, ‘Come to Melbourne. You’ll love it.’
“Luckily, it spanned some dates that meant my husband and kids could come out for about three weeks in the middle of filming.
“My husband has relatives in Australia so we had a big family reunion. So really, it was a no-brainer.”
Jo won’t be gathering her family round the TV to watch the show.
She admitted in a recent interview: “I can’t bear watching myself with other people in the room!”
It’s unlikely fans will get to see her on a reality show such as ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ or ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
Jo said: “I do get asked to do them.
“Many people I love and adore have done ‘Strictly’, like Sunetra[Sarker], Scott Maslen and Jake Wood, and they have been brilliant, but it just terrifies me. It’s not my skill.
“Ultimately, I’ve decided that me without food or sleep is not something that the nation needs to see either.
“I would be open to ‘MasterChef’ or ‘Bake Off’, where I might learn something, but last time I was asked, I couldn’t make the dates work.”

Ashley Roberts looking for love on dating app

OHMYGOSSIP — Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts is looking for love on a dating app.
The 41-year-old singer – who has been single since her romance with ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Giovanni Pernice ended in 2020 – has reportedly joined A List dating app Raya in a bid to find true love.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Ashley is inundated with offers but is looking to find someone she really connects with.
“She has always put everything into her career and is now looking for that special person to add to her life.”
Ashley recently revealed she is looking for a partner with “emotional intelligence”.
She said: “I’ve been really good at being driven and taking care of myself and I would like for someone to come in and support me.
“Not financially, and not that I need a man to take care of me, but I would like to share my life with someone whose company I enjoy and who supports me.
“I want to experience the world with someone that makes me laugh, but who also has the emotional intelligence to have an interesting conversation.”
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Giovanni is dating ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ champion Jowita Pryzstal.
Not only did Jowita walk away with this year’s glitterball trophy with celebrity partner Hamza Yassin, but she also bagged herself a new beau in the Italian hunk.
An insider previously said: “She and Gio are the worst kept secret, but make a great couple.”
The pair struggled to hide their affection and were often caught catching a kiss backstage.
The source said: “While they both kept insisting they were single, the pair’s chemistry was ridiculous — and they kept getting busted snogging in corridors.
“Crew even saw them kissing in the production office.
“They make a great couple though, and have been pretty inseparable in the last few weeks.
“Jowita, especially, wanted to keep things quiet so she could keep focused with Hamza, and not distract from the competition.
“Giovanni invited Jowita as his date to [Chelsea footballer] Jorghino’s birthday bash at Grappelli, an Italian restaurant in Cobham, Surrey, near the Chelsea training ground.
“They were flirting and made their relationship very known.
“It was the talk of the evening.”

Daniel Craig couldn’t understand fuss over Chris Evans’ jumper in Knives Out

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Craig couldn’t understand why everyone was obsessed with his ‘Knives Out’ co-star Chris Evans’ jumper in the film.
The former James Bond – who stars as detective Benoit Blanc in Rian Johnson’s whodunnit franchise – couldn’t get his head around the cable-knit sweater Chris’ alter-ego, Hugh Ransom Drysdalel, wears in the 2019 flick.
He told BBC Radio 1: “It’s the bit that goes over my head.
“I don’t understand. It’s like, so Chris Evans is wearing a jumper. It’s like he’s naked or at least naked from the sort of waist down, wearing a jumper. I’m like, ‘He’s just wearing a jumper.’ News is like, ‘Chris Evans wears jumper!’”
He added: “Sure, it’s a living. He does it very well.
“He wears it very beautifully.”
The sequel, ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’, has just been released.
But Rian has just confessed he is annoyed that ‘Knives Out’ is included in the title.
The filmmaker says he worked hard to ensure that the original flick and the recent release felt like separate movies that could exist independently of each other and he was not happy with the full title.
Speaking to The Atlantic, he said: “I’ve tried hard to make them self-contained. Honestly, I’m p***** off that we have ‘A Knives Out Mystery’ in the title. You know? I want it to just be called ‘Glass Onion’.
“I get it, and I want everyone who liked the first movie to know this is next in the series, but also, the whole appeal to me is it’s a new novel off the shelf every time. But there’s a gravity of a thousand suns toward serialised storytelling.”
Daniel is the only actor from the first film to return for the second movie.
And Rian also admitted he would have preferred a longer theatrical release from Netflix.
He said: “I’d love it to be longer; I’d love it to be in more. But also, I appreciate that Netflix has done this, because this was a huge effort on their part, and the chains, to reach across the aisle and make this happen. I’m hoping it does really well so we can demonstrate that they can complement each other.”
‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ co-stars Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista.

Gillian Anderson had fun with ‘loopy’ character

OHMYGOSSIP — Gillian Anderson had fun playing someone “a little loopy” in ‘A Pale Blue Eye’.
The 54-year-old actress stars in Scott Cooper’s Edgar Allan Poe-inspired whodunnit as doctor’s wife Julia Marquis and she was delighted to be offered such a “curious” role.
She said: “My character is such a curious one. She’s a little loopy. Which was fun.
“And she gets to smash plates. I’m trying to talk about it without giving too much away.”
Gillian also admired Scott’s way of working and thinks he managed to craft a film that feels “very real” to the time period in which it is set.
She told Total Film magazine: “I was very interested in te setting, and having seen a couple of Scott’s films before, it almost felt like I knew what it was going to look like.
“You could get a real sense from not just the script but knowing how he works.
“And I thought there was something very delicious in that.
“And certainly in seeing it myself, I was struck with how quiet it is, and how much he allows the scenes to just sit.
“There’s atmosphere. There’s a real silence. You feel the damp, you feel the cold.
“It feels very real to the 1800s in a way I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced before.”
The veteran actress think audiences like whodunnits because they are such an “escape” and she thinks audiences will learn more from ‘A Pale Blue Eye’ than they realise.
She said: “They’re such an escape. And more than ever, people want entertainment. They don’t want stuff that’s too heavy-handed or too real or too serious.
“Whodunits are a valid form of entertainment. And to have it presented in such a beautiful, luscious, fascinating and not necessarily educational way – but there’s certainly stuff in there that would have been well-researched and adds to the fascination of who Poe might have been when he was a younger man.
“And the beginnings of America and the beginnings of West Point and that institution. So all of that is quite curious and fascinating.”

The 34-year-old Diversity star has confirmed he and Francesca Abbott – the mother of his children Rose, three, and Micah, two – went their separate ways in 2021 but have kept the news to themselves while they took the time to process the breakdown of their 16-year relationship.
The former couple said in a joint statement shared to their Instagram accounts: “After much thought and consideration we both feel now is the time to share some personal news.
“Nearly 18 months ago we took the difficult decision to separate. After being together for over 16 years, since we were teenagers, this is not a decision that has been taken lightly.

“Thank you… Lots of Love Ash and Chess x.”

Taika Waititi’s Next Goal Wins is delayed by months

OHMYGOSSIP — Taika Waititi’s ‘Next Goal Wins’ has been delayed by five months.
The 47-year-old director has helmed the big-screen adaptation of the documentary about the American Samoa football team, which was originally slated for release on April 21, but will now hit cinemas on September 22.
The Hollywood Reporter reported the news from studio Searchlight, but there’s no explanation as to why it’s been held back.
There had already been some reshooting after Armie Hammer’s part was offered up to Will Arnett amid his sexual misconduct scandal.
It’s a very personal film for Taika, as he was able to relate to his upbringing in Polynesia.
He said in a recent interview: “It’s the ultimate underdog story.
“It taking place in Polynesia is very important to me, because it’s my people. We stick together. It was like seeing myself up there, seeing my family up there, when I saw that documentary, which is so perfect in many ways.
“And to have broader audiences have access to that story was one of my main goals. To bring our backyard to people, and to put brown faces on screen was a big deal for me. I just loved it.”
Taika explained that he embraced the contrast of working on the sports film, which stars Michael Fassbender and Elisabeth Moss, to directing ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ and ‘Jojo Rabbit’.
He said: “It was a great antidote to doing ‘Thor’ and ‘Jojo Rabbit’. Not that there’s anything negative about doing those other films, but I just missed him so much.”
He also confirmed that he would be bringing his own twist to the story that follows American Samoa’s attempts to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.
The ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ helmer said: “If you love films that are really authentic to the true stories, then you’re gonna hate this movie.
“I mean, just watch the documentary if you want to see exactly what happened. We go a bit deeper with these characters. The way that everything unfolded is the same.”
