Kate Hudson loved Liv Tyler screen kiss

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Hudson thinks Liv Tyler was her best on-screen kiss.
The 43-year-old actress singled out her ‘Dr. T and the Women’ co-star as being her favourite person to have locked lips with on camera over the years and joked she and her friend always regret not “going for it” more when they made the 2000 film.
Sitting down for Vanity Fair magazine’s lie detector test video series, Kate said of kissing Liv: “She beats them all. We, to this day, are like, ‘Why didn’t we go for it more with our making out?’ She has the softest lips of them all. Oh my God. Those lips? Those Tyler lips!”
Kate also joked she had “done well” after kissing Billy Crudup in ‘Almost Famous’ in 2000 and Matthew McConaughey in 2003’s ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ and 2008’s ‘Fool’s Gold’.
Holding up photos of them both, she joked: “I’ve done well, guys. I feel like I’ve done well…
“I think Billy is a gentler kisser. I wouldn’t say better, but definitely just gentler. It’s a more sophisticated version of a kiss. It’s like theatre. It’s like Stanislavski and like Longhorns. You know what I mean?”
But when it came to Dane Cook, Kate joked of her ‘My Best Friend’s Girl’ co-star: “No. No. Cancelled”.
In 2014, Dane claimed his smooch with the actress in the 2008 movie was his worst on-screen kiss.
He said: “I think she purposely ate a feast of onions right before the scene. I had to burn her on that one.”
Elsewhere in the interview, despite being best known for her rom-coms, the ‘Mother’s Day’ actress admitted she doesn’t watch many.
She said: “I don’t watch that many rom-coms. I love rom-coms, but sometimes for me the rom-coms that people are seeing are not movies that I… I’d probably choose something else.”

Jonathan Ross’ daughter using wheelchair due to fibromyalgia complications

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Ross’ daughter has been using a wheelchair due to her fibromyalgia.
The 62-year-old chat show host revealed his daughter Betsy, 31, cannot walk very far due to her illness and has been using an electric wheelchair.
Those with fibromyalgia suffer with widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues.
Betsy also suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome and postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) which causes an abnormal increase in the heart rate after sitting or standing.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’, Jonathan said: “She has fibromyalgia and she has chronic fatigue syndrome and POTS syndrome as well, which is where your heart rate shoots up.
“We found a good… there’s a thing called the Perrin treatment. The guy who invented it, he came to talk to me about it and she looked it up online because she’s a smart young woman, so she has to want to do the treatment.
“You know, I mean, I can’t just say to her “try this, try that” if she thinks it’s wrong in some way and if she’s not going to enter it one hundred per cent, of course it’s not worth doing.
“But we’ve been having that treatment going on and she’s definitely showing some improvement.”
Jonathan – who also has daughters Honey, 25, and Harvey, 28, with his wife Jane Goldman – added: “She still can’t walk very far. We got her an electric wheelchair in the summer, so we can at least go out and go for walks with the dogs and that’s lifted her spirits a lot.
“Because that’s the problem, if anyone out there who knows or who’s got someone with a long term illness, you know, it’s the depression. Being stuck indoors and not being able to join in with things because even stairs are a challenge to her.
“So if we’re going out we have to give her plenty of time to get ready, get downstairs and then have a rest before we go to the next step, you know.
“It does have an impact but the good news is she’s definitely showing improvement and feeling better in herself. So we’re relieved and we’re happy with that.”

Peter Capaldi to direct parenting comedy

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Capaldi is to direct a new parenting comedy series.
The former ‘Doctor Who’ actor will step behind the camera on Sky Studios’ ‘They F*** You Up’, which follows a mother who adopts five children and is based on Sarah Naish’s memoir ‘But He Looks So Normal: A Bad-Tempered Parenting Guide for Adopters and Foster Parents’.
A non-broadcast episode for the programme – which is being written by Thomas Eccleshare – will be made by Tod Productions next year.
Thomas, who recently worked with both Peter and Tod Productions on upcoming Apple TV+ series ‘Criminal Record’ said the project – which was originally developed for the BBC – will offer a “funny, honest and caustic” look at parenting.
He added of the lead character: “She’s sort of like the best mother in the world and the worst mother in the world.
“She will leave her kids on the side of the motorway to make their own way home but also fully support them through their quite extreme difficulties.”
Sky Studios have yet to commit to a full series but the writer told Deadline he has been commissioned to write an additional two half-hour episodes.
The non-broadcast pilot will shoot early next year and is made by Tod Productions, the STV Studios-backed company founded by Vera producer Elaine Collins, and Sky Studios. The project was originally developed for the BBC.
‘They F*** You Up’ will be executive produced by Tod Productions’ Vera Collins – who is married to Peter – and Anil Gupta for Sky Studios, while Katie Churchill will serve as producer.
Meanwhile, Thomas is developing another series for Sky called ‘Schtum’.
He described it as a “’Rush Hour’ for the 21st century” and it will see an unlikely pairing of a Hasidic Jew from a local neighbourhood watch group team up with a Black policewoman to fight crime.
He said: “They both go rogue against their communities to make this extremely odd couple fighting crime in a heightened Hackney.”
The programme was originally developed for Channel 4.
Thomas added: “The Channel 4 version was a little more ‘Prime Suspect’ and this one is a bit more ‘Fargo’.”

Ron Howard admits Solo sequel is unlikely

OHMYGOSSIP — Ron Howard has admitted another ‘Solo’ movie is unlikely.
The 68-year-old director insisted there have been no discussions with ‘Star Wars’ bosses about the possibility of making a follow-up to his 2008 film – which saw Alden Ehrenreich play a young version of Harrison Ford’s beloved character Han Solo – and doesn’t think the project would be a “priority” for producers.
Asked about the possibility of a sequel, Ron told NME: “The only discussion that I’m aware of about a sequel for ‘Solo’ is coming from the fans at this point.
“I don’t think it’s a Lucasfilm priority, as I understand it.”
However, the director doesn’t think it is a complete impossibility that a sequel may happen one day.
He added: “There’s some great characters launched, and the folks from Lucasfilm love the fans and really do listen so I would never say never – but I’m not aware of any concrete plans right now to extend the story or deal with that particular set of characters.”
Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy previously admitted she had learned from ‘Solo’ that it had became “abundantly clear” that a core character cannot be recast.
She said: “There should be moments along the way when you learn things. Now it does seem so abundantly clear that we can’t do that.”
Ron wasn’t the original director for ‘Solo’, as he came on board the project less than a year before it was released and around five months after Phil Lord and Christopher Miller had began production, before bowing out as directors due to creative differences.
The pair said in a statement at the time: “Unfortunately, our vision and process weren’t aligned with our partners on this project. We normally aren’t fans of the phrase ‘creative differences’ but for once this cliché is true. “

Hugh Grant’s ‘loser’ movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Grant says the upcoming ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ movie is about a group of “losers”.
The 62-year-old actor – who plays Forge Fitzwilliam, aka The Rogue – was drawn to John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein’s script because he felt it was all about the underdogs.
In an interview with co-star Chris Pine – who plays courageous bard Elgin – he told Collider: “I think maybe what I responded to most in their script was that it’s about losers. This little band of comrades, they’re all a bit crap. You are not great at being a bard.
“And the magician, played by Justice [Smith], is really bad. What do they call magicians in ‘Dungeons and Dragons’?
“Sorcerer. He’s not much good. And Michelle [Rodriguez’s] character has been thrown out of whatever. And is still in love with her husband, who is in love with someone else. And I responded to that loser-ish thing about this little band. Maybe that’s an English predilection. We love a loser.”
And Chris, 42, revealed he loved working with directors Daley and Goldstein.
He said: “I mean, first of all, they’re really funny guys. And they have a history of making really great comedy. They have good hearts. And their idea for how they wanted to tell the story, at least for me, was exactly what I like about big-budget filmmaking, which is not too cool for school. There’s an earnest, real heart to it with a really sweet message. The comedy’s really on point. The visual practical element was really neat. I think, especially nowadays with all the green screen, to do stuff practically with real monsters made by super craftsmen, and effects on set that you can feel, and touch, and interact with…
“And they are technicians. I mean, it takes a real samurai mind to figure out how to shoot a film of this size and scope. And you could feel them wanting to knock it out of the park. Their last film was Game Night, which is a third of the size and scope of this. And you could feel them really wanting to win. So I like their ambition, too.”

James Bye and wife expecting fourth child

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bye and his wife are expecting their fourth child together.
The 38-year-old EastEnders’ actor and his wife Victoria, 40 – who already have kids Edward, eight, Louis, six, and Hugo, three, together – have revealed that she is pregnant again after three years of trying.
Victoria wrote in a statement posted to both of their Instagram accounts: “So… we’ve been keeping a little secret…
“We’re not just welcoming in the new year in 2023…
“I can hardly believe I’m saying it. But we’re welcoming another little one and we’re over the moon.
“We never thought it was going to happen. We always wanted a big family but after all my endometriosis struggles… heartbreaking miscarriages, seeing fertility doctors 3 years of ovulation testing disappointment – we’d honestly given up.
“I remember thinking right. Enough. I gathered up the pram baby things gave them all away. We both knew it couldn’t go on, the constant hope.
“And we were ok, we’d accepted how lucky we’d already been and so we got on with life.
“And life got crazy.
“I started training for my marathon, we began planning our vow renewal abroad, James started the intense Strictly regimen… all wrapped up with a big 40th birthday bonanza (I did milk it just a bit )
“And would you bloody believe it… Somehow life saw all our plans – and threw us a curve ball … (How we found the time I’ll never know – ‘Strictly curse’ you say?! Ha – introducing the glitterball baby!)
“And suddenly our world has been turned upside own… The boys are giddy (‘We’ll always have someone to sit next to on a rollercoaster now!’ Ever the practical Louis ) and yet as I smile, still amazed, I can’t help but worry…
“I think after losing a baby you can never fully let go and enjoy… despite the reassuring symptoms (thanks all day ‘morning’ sickness ) and the doctors all nodding… you can’t let go of the fear.
“And so all I can do is just keep ticking off the days and hoping…”
Victoria also admitted that she is struggling to fit into her wedding dress for the couple’s upcoming vow renewal ceremony in St Lucia next week.
She added: “As well as trying to put to the back of my mind that I have to fit into a wedding dress in a week! Seriously, my boobs! They’re massive!
“Thank you for all of your support this past year but if you need to unfollow for awhile… trust me, I get it. The pregnancy announcements just keep on coming when you’re trying… but I also hope that this might offer a little bit of hope too.
“And if anything else. You’re in for a laugh watching me trying to keep my boobs from going x-rated on the beach for our vows next week…
“2023 – wish us luck xx.”

Sadie Sink explored character’s dark side in The Whale

OHMYGOSSIP — Sadie Sink explored the dark side of her character in ‘The Whale’.
The 20-year-old actress plays the role of Ellie in Darren Aronofsky’s Oscar-tipped film and says she was unable to decide if her alter ego was good or evil as she builds a relationship with her estranged father Charlie (Brendan Fraser).
When asked about her character’s intentions, Sadie told The Hollywood Reporter: “I don’t know, I think when I was filming, definitely for the earlier scenes, I had moments like where I was, ‘Oh there’s some real, real darkness in her.’ You know there is, but I think it’s just developed over time coming from this great deal of pain that she’s in.
“And I think she has no idea who she is, she’s very insecure, I think.”
Sadie discussed the complex relationship between Ellie and Charlie and thinks that her character plays a “game” with her obese father in the film.
The ‘Stranger Things’ star said: “It’s this game that she’s become really good at playing that’s kind of a challenge for Charlie, but the thing about him is that he’s able to kind of see past all of it and I don’t want to ensure her that there’s a part of herself that he sees so clearly that I think is good, I think there’s good in her.”
Meanwhile, Sadie’s performance in the movie impressed her co-star Brendan so much that he kept forgetting his lines.
The 54-year-old actor said: “The fluidity that Sadie plays, this beautiful, controlled rage, was breathtaking to me.
“I was constantly going up on my lines. And that’s just because I have cobwebs upstairs and I was wearing a lot of gear, but also because I was just slack-jawed. I’m not joking.
“Watching her work — she won the game ball every day we worked, I’m telling you.”

Lena Dunham cast her dog in Catherine Called Birdy

OHMYGOSSIP — Lena Dunham cast her dog Ingrid in ‘Catherine Called Birdy’.
The 36-year-old ‘Girls’ creator wrote and directed the 2022 medieval comedy film – based on the 1994 novel of the same name by Karen Cushman – and Dunham joked that she “believed in” Ingrid when she cast her as the baby Jesus in the Christmas pageant scene.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “Ingrid was with me through writing, scouting and shooting this movie. As we were traveling to these medieval buildings, we would see these old paintings of saints and peasants with their dogs. They all looked a little like Ingrid — she has a very medieval look.
“I gave her the role. People were sceptical, but I believed in her!”
Lena also collaborated with her husband, musician Luis Felber, on the film’s soundtrack.
And Lena revealed the novel’s original cover art inspired her to cast Bella Ramsey, 19, in the title role of Catherine aka Birdy.
She said: “That was the face of Birdy I always saw. When I saw Bella’s face, it summoned so many of those same qualities that the character has — very classical beauty coupled with intelligence, [and] wide-eyed innocence coupled with trickery.”
‘Catherine Called Birdy’ features a star-studded ensemble cast including Andrew Scott, Billie Piper, Joe Alwyn, Russell Brand, Sophie Okonedo and Lesley Sharp.

Freeze The Fear with Wim Hof on ice at the BBC

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Freeze The Fear with Wim Hof’ has been put on ice by the BBC with no plans for a second series.
The extreme winter challenge show aired on BBC One last year and saw eight celebrities complete challenges in freezing temperatures under the guidance of the Dutch athlete and motivational speaker.
The show was hosted by ‘This Morning’ presenter Holly Willoughby and Lee Mack but it is said that there has been no work completed on a second series.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper: “Since 2004 Holly has almost exclusively worked for ITV as one of the channel’s most prized presenters.
“So it was a big deal in the industry that she was hopping over to the BBC and showed she had real confidence in ‘Freeze The Fear’ being a big success.
“But as it stands there’s been no work done on a second series.”
The source continued: “This time last year the team were months into pre-production and filming was just two weeks away.
“Never say never, but as it stands no decision has been made on the future of the show.”
The BBC are hoping to “woo” Holly away from ITV even though she has spent more than a decade as host of ‘This Morning’ alongside Phillip Schofield.
An insider said: “Bosses at the BBC want Holly to be theirs, it’s as simple as that, and they know she really enjoyed ‘Freeze The Fear’. If they can keep her sweet with programmes like that then they hope they can gradually woo her into the right thing.
“With the exception of ‘Strictly’ which is only on for a few months of the year, the Beeb struggle for big entertainment programmes, particularly those hosted by women.
“Holly is popular across generations – she appeals to young and old. To the BBC, she is an absolute gem, they want her and they will spend the money that they have to.”

Jennie McAlpine pregnant

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennie McAlpine is pregnant with her third child.
The 38-year-old ‘Coronation Street’ actress and her husband Chris Farr – who already have Albert, eight, and Hilda, four, together – will welcome a new addition to their family later this year.
Jennie, who is six months pregnant, revealed she found out about her pregnancy at five weeks, while on a camping trip with her family.
She told OK! magazine: “It just feels really nice. We’re so over the moon. The thought of adding to our family mix and chaos was the best Christmas present. I’m really excited for 2023 – it’ll be a special one.”
Jennie – who has played Fiz Brown in ‘Coronation Street’ for 21 years – admitted the new baby’s name will most likely be inspired by the soap because she doesn’t know how to “avoid it”, as her daughter Hilda’s name is an ode to ‘Corrie’ favourite Hilda Ogden.
She said: “With Albert and Hilda, we had the name, but when they were born, we were like, ‘That’s the one’.
“It just kind of happened, so I think it’ll probably be the same. Hilda was a family name for us and we loved it, but Hilda Ogden is an absolute icon and I am a big fan, so I love that it is a nod to that. Jean Alexander, who played Hilda, sadly died before Hilda was born.
“I can probably guarantee whatever the name we choose, it will have been a character in ‘Corrie’ – I don’t know how to avoid it!”
And Jennie revealed the kids are very excited about a new sibling.
She said: “They had talked about wanting [a sibling] before. We had a scan and then showed the pictures to Albert and Hilda after school – they’re really excited. From day one [they’ve been] touching my tummy and talking to the baby. They talk to the baby every day! Albert was like, ‘OK, there’s another kid coming into this house. There’ll be even more sharing that’s going to have to happen.’”
Jennie has no plans to find out the gender of the tot until its born, saying: “It feels like our way to do it. Girl, boy – it’s not relevant! I’ve got two little humans that are very different from each other, but I’m not sure they’re different because they’re a girl and a boy.”
And, she hasn’t ruled out having a fourth child.
She said: “That programme, ’22 Kids And Counting’ – I totally get it. I love being pregnant, I love babies and I love being a mum to the kids and each stage. It feels right and being a mum is my favourite job in the world.”

Extra security for Winter Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Winter Love Island’ bosses have hired extra security due to kidnap fears.
The Ludus Magnus villa in South Africa – where Maya Jama will host the upcoming series of the ITV2 show – is reportedly set to be guarded 24/7 by a security team using night vision CCTV and alarm beams amid fears kidnap gangs will target the contestants or crew.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The aim is to make Ludus as secure as possible, without terrifying the contestants.
“We want them to feel relaxed and feel comfortable during the show.
“The beauty of Ludus as a choice is that it is a long way from the main road, so for anyone to reach the villa they would either be spotted or triggered alarms and be intercepted.
“There is a hotline into the local police station and private armed response companies so if any threat is larger than expected, the heavy cavalry would be on their way in seconds.
“The security of both the contestants and crew is of our utmost concern and must come first.
“Thankfully the one thing security companies know out here is how to keep people very safe.
“All the production crew coming in and out of Ludus will have armed escorts.
“They will also be given security briefings on what dangers to look for and what to do in worst-case scenarios.”
This will be Maya’s first season as host, after she took over from Laura Whitmore, who quit the show in August.

Ola and James Jordan’s sex life improved after weight loss

OHMYGOSSIP — Ola and James Jordan say losing weight has improved their sex life.
Ola, 40, and James 44, piled on the pounds after quitting ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and welcoming their first child, Ella, now two, together and after embarking on a new fitness regime the pair dropped over seven stone between them.
Ola told The Sun: “We were definitely having sex less. That happens when you become parents – Ella still climbs into our bed at night!
“But, for us, passion also dwindled, because the last thing you want to do after you’ve stuffed yourself with crisps and chocolate every evening is go to bed and have sex!”
However, after they lost weight, the couple reignited the spark in the bedroom.
Ola said: “The va-va-voom is back and the sex is better because James can pick me up and throw me about again!
“I’d go so far as to say the sex is as good as when we first got together!
“The truth is, I fancy James more now he’s got his six-pack back. He looks so much fitter and younger since he lost weight.
“I can’t keep my hands off him!”
And James added: “It’s great to see her looking so healthy and I’m just happy I can see my bits again.”
Now, Ola hopes that 2023 will be a great year for them both.
She said: “In October, we’re celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, we’ll soon be moving into a new house, we’ve got new bodies and, hopefully, we’ll have a new baby,”

Lucien Laviscount eyed as the next James Bond

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucien Laviscount has emerged as a contender to be the next James Bond.
The 30-year-old star has caught the attention of 007 chief Barbara Broccoli for his performance as heart-throb Alfie in the Netflix series ‘Emily in Paris’.
Lucien would fit the bill as Daniel Craig’s replacement as the iconic spy after Broccoli said that she wanted to cast an actor who can play the role for the next 15 years. It is also thought that Bond bosses are keen for an ethnic-minority actor to play the character to ensure that the franchise reflects modern society.
A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “Lucien ticks all of the boxes. He is a super talented actor, is extremely handsome and in the past 18 months has won lots of new fans since he joined ‘Emily in Paris’.
“Bond bosses are already saying how you can see him in the 007 tuxedo, how dapper and fitting to the role he will look.”
However, there are fears that Lucien’s appearance on the reality show ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2011 could count against him as former Bonds have come from highbrow backgrounds.
The insider said: “But, there is a sticking point, and that is ‘Big Brother’. Lucien appeared on the show at a time when his acting career was not as high-profile as it is now, but he was very popular then and has a fan base now which stretches generations. That is a dream for Barbara who is very taken with him.”
Broccoli, 62, previously revealed that she and co-producer Michael G. Wilson are planning a different trajectory for the Bond franchise following Craig’s exit.
She said: “When you change the actor you have to reimagine the direction the film’s gonna go on. When you hire an actor, you’re hoping you’re going to spend a decade at least with them and make four or five or six films with them.
“So you have to think through, ‘What is the trajectory? What is that actor going to bring? How are you going to move the series into another direction?'”

Hugh Grant confirms Glass Onion marriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Grant has confirmed that his and Daniel Craig’s characters are married in ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’.
The 62-year-old actor has a brief cameo as Philip, detective Benoit Blanc’s partner who answers the door to their apartment, but Hugh has revealed that the pair are actually married in the film.
He told Collider: “It is true. I’m married to James Bond.”
Speaking about why he took on a cameo in the Rian Johnson directed movie, Hugh said: “It’s the tiniest little moment. I don’t really know why they wanted to do it but anyway, I thought ‘Knives Out 1’ was brilliant and so yeah, I thought why not? I turn up for a few hours…”
Meanwhile, director Rian recently admitted he is annoyed that ‘Knives Out’ is included in the ‘Glass Onion’ title.
The filmmaker said he worked hard to ensure that the original ‘Knives Out’, released in 2019, and the recent release ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ felt like separate movies that could exist independently of each other and he was not happy with ‘Glass Onion’s full title.
Speaking to The Atlantic, he said: “I’ve tried hard to make them self-contained. Honestly, I’m p***** off that we have ‘A Knives Out Mystery’ in the title. You know? I want it to just be called ‘Glass Onion’.
“I get it, and I want everyone who liked the first movie to know this is next in the series, but also, the whole appeal to me is it’s a new novel off the shelf every time.”
Craig is the only actor to return for the second movie.
‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ co-stars Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista.

Chris Kamara unveiled as Ghost on Masked Singer

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Kamara has been eliminated from ‘The Masked Singer’.
The 65-year-old football pundit – who was recently awarded an MBE – was kicked off the show after he was revealed to be Ghost and revealed he took part because his grandchildren are huge fans.
He said: “It’s a fan favourite in our house. My grandkids love the characters and we love to play along. I can’t say I’m particularly good with my guesses though.
“I did it for the grandkids. I want to see the surprise on their faces when they see me unmasked on the show. Not even my wife knows so it’s going to be a surprise for the whole family. I’m not the best at keeping secrets so I’m not sure what will shock them most, taking part in the show or keeping it a secret.”
While Chris loved taking part in the show, he admitted he found the costume “restrictive”.
He said: “The view was really restrictive which takes a lot of getting used to. I really enjoyed it though it was really fun. I love singing so enjoy any chance I get to sing.
“It was hard to sing in though. I never realised how hard that would be. It’s very claustrophobic.
“I did have nerves but there is something liberating performing when no one knows who you are.”
On the first show, Chris competed against Knitting, Jellyfish, Otter, Cat Mouse and Phoenix.
Next week, the remaining characters – Fawn, Jacket Potato, Piece of Cake, Pigeon, Rhino and Rubbish – will take to the stage.
