Martin and Shirlie Kemp unmasked on Masked Singer

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin and Shirlie Kemp took part in ‘The Masked Singer’ to “embarrass” their kids.
The pair – who have singer Harley and DJ Roman together – were the latest stars unmasked on the competition series on Saturday (14.01.23) after they were in the bottom two alongside Knitting, and they admitted they weren’t expecting their children to be impressed by their turn as Cat and Mouse.
Asked if Roman knew they were on the show, Shirlie said: “No!
“This is going to embarrass him. Most people say they are doing it for their kids.”
Martin added: “We’re doing it to embarrass them.”
And the pair’s prediction was right, because Roman shared footage of his horrified reaction on social media.
He uploaded a video on Instagram in which he asked: “Can someone please explain what is going on?”
He hilariously raged on Twitter: “ARE YOU F****** JOKING? I JUST SHOUTED THE PHRASE “TAKE IT OFF” TO MY PARENTS I CANT UNDO THAT.(sic)”
Roman later uploaded a clip of him watching the show with his mum and sister.
At the big reveal, he shouted: “Shut the f*** up. I knew it! I knew it! You’re a liar. You’re a liar, look at you over there. You are such a liar.”
He then embraced his mother before the video stopped.
The Capital Breakfast host also shared a photo of Shirlie on TV after being unmasked and wrote of the former Wham backing singer: “My mum: I’ve no interest in being famous anymore
“Also my mum… (sic)”
Shirlie later took to her own Twitter account to reveal how she and Martin had tricked their family into explaining away their absence while filming the show.
She posted: “And to think, our kids thought we were on a romantic getaway… #MaskedSingerUK (sic)”

Katie Waissel to sue Simon Cowell

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Waissel is planning to sue Simon Cowell after training as a lawyer.
The 36-year-old former singer sought therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder in the years following her appearance on ‘The X Factor’ in 2010 after suffering panic attacks and suicidal thoughts in the wake of being branded the “most hated” contestant of the series, and she’s now taking action against the music mogul’s company Syco Entertainment for breach of duty of care during her time on the show.
She told The Sunday Times newspaper: “I am pursuing a civil case of personal injury under negligence, which pertains to duty of care.”
The statute of limitations on personal injury is three years so Katie and her lawyers – who have sent a letter of claim to Syco Entertainment – will need to persuade a judge to waive it.
Katie has seven boxes of documents relating to her time on the show, and admitted she is shocked by the contract she signed at the time, with the contestants – who were not classed as employees so didn’t receive the same working rights – given a token sum for taking part, while Simco, of which Syco was the parent company, made a profit of £22.9 million in her year.
She said: “I was [contractually] given £1 in exchange for appearing on the live shows section of the programme
“That structure is manipulation and coercion at its finest. Company A, who is in a position of power, seeks person B, who is vulnerable. Company A says, this is the biggest opportunity of your life and without it, you would be nothing. That is the absolute pinnacle of where it’s all gone wrong. It gives me goosebumps…
“There are so many of us who have been so trapped and it’s not fair, there was a huge imbalance in power. I just wanted to be able to understand [the contracts] and to protect people from being manipulated in the future.”
The mother-of-one wasn’t allowed to leave the contestants’ house without permission and she wasn’t ready for the level of exposure the show brought.
She said: “I look back at the paparazzi pictures at the time and I honestly look like an addict — I was not — I didn’t eat, I didn’t sleep. It felt like they owned all of me. I’ve had therapy or counselling from the second I left [the show].”
As well as her legal studies, Katie has founded the OWHL Foundation, a charity which aims to “oversee the welfare, human rights and liberty within the creative industry sector”.
She said: “My charity will provide civil, criminal and mental health support to those in the industry who are navigating their way through, decoding what is going on.
“It’s like a legal GP, somewhere truly independent and safe, if you are bewildered by everything.
“People on reality TV are being publicly ridiculed for entertainment and we have become desensitised to it. It’s wrong.”
Representatives for Syco Entertainment declined to comment, but Fremantle, the co-production company on the ‘X Factor’ said they have “robust measures”, which are constantly under review to “ensure contestants are supported, including a dedicated welfare team made up of psychologists, doctors, welfare producers and independent legal and management advisers with no time limit on aftercare once the show has aired.”

James Gunn dismisses Jacob Elordi Superman speculation

OHMYGOSSIP — James Gunn has dismissed speculation Jacob Elordi is the new Superman.
The 56-year-old filmmaker – who took over as DC Studios co-CEO with Peter Safran in October – has responded to online reports the ‘Euphoria’ star is in line to play the Man of Steel in the next big screen outing for the character, insisting he won’t start casting anyone until the script is finished and an announcement won’t be coming in the near future.
He tweeted in response to a post which had Jacob’s face photoshopped onto Superman’s body: “My thoughts are no one has been cast as Superman yet.
“Casting, as is almost always the case with me, will happen after the script is finished or close to finished, and it isn’t.
“We’ll announce a few things in not too long, but the casting of Superman won’t be one of them.”
Henry Cavill revealed last year he was returning as Superman and made a cameo in ‘Black Adam’, but just weeks later, he revealed he was out of a job following discussions with the new DC bosses.
In a statement shared on Instagram, he said: “I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it’s sad news, everyone. I will, after all, not be returning as Superman.
“After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life.
“The changing of the guard is something that happens, I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build.
“I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.”
James later explained that the “initial stages” of the studio’s new plans for Superman include looking at “an earlier part” of his life.
He explained: “Peter [and] I have a DC slate ready to go, which we couldn’t be more over-the-moon about; we’ll be able to share some exciting information about our first projects at the beginning of the new year.
“Among those on the slate is Superman. In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill.
“But we just had a great meeting with Henry and we’re big fans and we talked about a number of exciting possibilities to work together in the future.”

‘My body was beaten to a pulp’: Tom Hanks’ reveals his most-exhausting scene to shoot

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hanks’ most “exhausting” scene to film was getting the dog in ‘Turner and Hooch’ in his collar or strapped into the car.
The 66-year-old actor starred in the 1989 American buddy cop comedy film alongside Beasley the Dog as the eponymous characters, and he has claimed his “body was beaten to a pulp” at the end of taking repeated takes getting the hound secured.
Asked what the most challenging shot to film was, he said: “The scene where I first get that dog in a collar, in a car, or attached to a car, it was … Well, just go back and look at it. It was the most physical, exhausting, time-consuming thing. And because it could only happen in the real world, this is not a moment of CGI to it, there’s not a moment of a stuntman being involved in it. It was just me and Beasley, who was the dog who was playing Hooch at the time, and it was steady cams, multiple, multiple versions of it.”
More than three decades later, the ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ star still has “tactile memories” of just how difficult it was.
Hanks added to Collider: “And the thing that was exhausting about it was, it was just me and that dog every step of the way. It happened in real-time, and it happened over a number of hours, and my body was beaten to a pulp by the time we got to the end, and it was also full energy the entire time. I had to be petrified of this dog at the same time I was commanding that dog. I don’t know why. What year did we make that movie? I’ll tell you, it was 33 years ago, and yet I still have tactile memories of how hard that shot was to get.”

Siva Kaneswaran had serious fall during Dancing On Ice training

OHMYGOSSIP — Siva Kaneswaran suffered a head injury after a “serious fall” while training for ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The Wanted singer experienced a “mild concussion” after taking a tumble on the ice and admitted the accident has knocked his confidence ahead of the show’s return on Sunday (15.01.23).
He told reporters: “Friday just passed, I had a serious fall, I hit the back of my head so I’ve been diagnosed with a mild concussion as of today.
“To get back on the ice it can really shake your confidence.
“But I expected this and we’re just trying to stay focused and determined and I know that this is part of the whole journey.”
The ‘All Time Low’ hitmaker – who is paired with professional skater Klabera Komini – didn’t need hospital treatment because there was a medical team on hand at the rink.
Asked if he had been to hospital, he said: “No, luckily we have a medic beside the rink and we have a physio in the building too.
“So they had my blood pressure, blood taking and they checked my eyes, so they were all there.
“I’m still here and I’m OK.”
Siva previously admitted he was inspired to take part in the show in honour of his late bandmate Tom Parker, who died from a brain tumour last March.
He said recently: “I wanted to take what happened with Tom, you know losing Tom and I was inspired by him and his fight, and take that bravery onto the ice to show people that when you fall down you can get back up.
“I’m doing it obviously to carry on his memory.”

Carol Vorderman doesn’t want ‘traditional’ relationship

OHMYGOSSIP — Carol Vorderman doesn’t want a “traditional” relationship and enjoys dating multiple men.
The former ‘Countdown’ star – who was previously married to Christopher Mather for a year and Patrick King, the father of her kids Katie, 30, and 25-year-old Cameron, for a decade – favours “no-strings-attached romances and loves the “freer” way of dating she’s embraced, with a series of “special friends”.
She told Fabulous magazine: “I get frustrated when women are told to find a man.
“It’s b*****ks, because the goal is not to be in love, the goal is to be happy.
“I want to be able to genuinely say: ‘I love my life.’ And I can say that. So I don’t need to be validated by this nonsense. Love comes in many forms…
“I don’t see my marriage as a failure. So I’m in a new chapter that’s been going on for 10 years now.
“I am a great proponent that if women choose to not get married or they want to be with someone for a limited period of time, they can now.
“It’s your choice if you have a boyfriend or you don’t.
“I might have a boyfriend who only lasts a few months. I call them ‘special friends’. People may have other terms for them!
“But I’m happy living my life that way. The people involved are also very happy about it. That’s between us, it’s nothing at all to do with anybody else.”
The 62-year-old presenter won’t date anyone already in a relationship and admitted she has been seeing one of her “friends” for over a decade.
She added: “The first rule is: do no harm, so for me that means only single people, obviously.
“In the past, you’d be called horrible words as a woman. A man is a ‘player’, but there is no female equivalent word. So I’ve made one up. I call it ‘Boada’, which is like [ancient warrior queen] Boadicea.
“I’m not going to tell you all the details, but one of my ‘friendships’ has gone on for 11 years. And I have one ‘special friend’ in America. Sliding into DMs is not how I operate, but if people want to do that, that’s up to them.”
“I have a very full, happy, exciting and adventurous life. And it makes me laugh every day. It’s ridiculous and it’s fantastic.
“I think many people are living that life but are too frightened to say. There are a lot of fresh divorcees coming into their 50s and the majority wouldn’t want to get married again.
“They’d say: ‘Maybe I’d like someone, maybe a few people. I didn’t know I wanted to do this, but I want to explore this now.’”
As well as an active dating life, Carol also has a number of male friends she enjoys sharing her hobbies with.
She said: “I go paddleboarding. I love horse racing.
“One of my friends is an astronaut. So I have a lot of friends, not just ‘special friends’. There are so many different elements to my life. I’ve found in the past that when I’ve been in a ‘traditional’ relationship, it restricted my life.
“It’s been: ‘You should be interested in what I’m interested in.’ Now I can make a decision and I don’t have to check in with anybody.”

Gerard Butler wants to make ‘dark satire’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gerard Butler wants to star in a “really dark satire”.
The 53-year-old actor thinks he’s tried his hand at every genre over the years but he’d love to go and make another gritty “black comedy” after having a great time making 2008’s ‘RocknRolla’.
Asked if there are any genres he’d like to do more of in the future, he said: “I don’t know if there’s any genres I haven’t done…
“For me, the Guy Ritchie movies, like the one that I was fortunate enough to do, ‘RocknRolla’.
“That dark, black comedy. Or even recently, ‘The Menu’ or ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’. Something like that, you know? A really dark satire that is strangely and surprisingly personal as well. Maybe time to revisit that.”
Gerard can next be seen in ‘Plane’ as pilot Brodie Torrance and while he’s had fun with action films such as the ‘…Has Fallen’ franchise, he relished the idea of playing an “everyman”.
He told ComingSoon.net: “The ‘Has Fallen’ movies are … they’re almost superhero. As much as you want to climb into a more interesting character like that, it is fun to play an everyman — a regular person. He’s a pilot. Yeah, he needs those skills, but he’s not prepared for the world that he’s about to enter into.
“He’s not prepared to be having to go on a journey with an accused murderer who’s sitting on his plane in handcuffs, trying to rescue passengers from the militia.
“That’s something that an audience can identify with, you know? These people that are in these terrible situations, but they’re trying their best. They make mistakes, they get things right, they get things wrong.”
To prepare for the role, the actor spent “many, many hours” in flight simulators and sitting inside a real airplane cockpit.
He said: “I did a bunch of training for this. I was in simulators for as much as I could and then our cockpit was really … it was an actual cockpit from a plane. So [I] spent many, many hours in there because I wanted to feel like I earned my seat and I wasn’t just pretending and pressing buttons. The audience really believed they were sitting with two airline pilots.”

Jameela Jamil wants to play a villain in Star Wars

OHMYGOSSIP — Jameela Jamil wants to play a ‘Star Wars’ villain.
The 36-year-old actress plays Ascenia on ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’, and has voiced Wonder Woman in ‘DC League of Super-Pets’ and Eris in ‘Harley Quinn’ for DC, while she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Mary MacPherran / Titania in ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’, and now she has one franchise left to complete here “nerd EGOT”.
She told SFX magazine: “I’ve done DC, I’ve done the MCU, I’ve now joined ‘Star Trek’, so it feels only natural that I should at least be allowed to do catering at ‘Star Wars’.
“I’ve been referring to it as my nerd EGOT – that would be the ultimate dream come true and fulfil every 12-year-old fantasy I had.”
Asked what character she’d like to portray, she replied: “I’d take literally anything, but I think a villain.
“I do really love playing the bad guy.
“I enjoy complex characters who start off as mentally unrelatable, who we can find the relatability of.
“Right now we are so divided. We almost seek to misunderstand each other.
If we don’t understand each other, we’re never going to be able to find a way back to one another.
“That’s something that I’m very drawn to, helping people understand people who are different to them.
“And so I’m into playing the villains.”

Love Island teams up with Ann Summers

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ has teamed up with Ann Summers to supply the cast with sex toys, lingerie and much more.
The saucy high street mainstay will stock the iconic Hideaway Retreat – the updated spot for couples to have an evening away from their fellow Islanders – with merchandise from its catalogue, giving some of its wares an exclusive airing during the South Africa-based winter edition of the ITV2 dating competition.
The revamped area – which will provide space for bonding for blossoming romances, away from prying eyes – will be kitted out with lubricants, sexy undergarments and saucy toys from Ann Summers, a step away from the “little drawer” they had before.
Mike Spencer, the creative director, is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper’s Diary column as saying: “In previous years, we have had a little drawer. But this year we have … playtime.”
This comes amid the production team’s redesign of the villa to incorporate more areas for contestants to slink off.
Along with the retreat – which includes a private pool – they have added a treehouse to give another location with privacy at the heart of it in the luxury accommodation.
‘Love Island’ have also joined forces with other brands to feature on the series, like Ebay and Boots, as well as Ann Summers, who have snapped up alumni from the show such as Tasha Ghouri and Megan Barton-Hanson.
Tasha – who finished fourth in last year’s series with her man Andrew Le Page, 27 – called collaborating with the iconic outlet her “dream”.
The 24-year-old model said: “When I started out modelling, I always wanted to model for Ann Summers. It’s just so amazing and I love how the brand is so empowering and inclusive of all body types and all kinds of people.
“They’re inclusive to the LGBTQ+ community and all types of people, and that’s the message I want to push.”

Harry Styles has a future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles has a big future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The 28-year-old mega star made a cameo appearance at the end of the 2021 movie ‘Eternals’ as Eros/Starfox and Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore confirmed that Harry’s alter ego is a “fascinating” character with a family connection to the villainous Thanos.
During an interview on the Deadline Crew Call podcast, Moore said: “We certainly didn’t cast Harry for a tag. I mean, again – And a character (that) maybe I have too much affection for, ’cause he’s had some problematic runs in publishing. But there are more stories to be told with the character.”
The producer added: “He has a really interesting connection with Thanos; they’re half-brothers and share the same father. He has an interesting power set.
“He’s a complicated character, but a really fun character. And I think… having met Harry Styles, he is as charming as you want him to be. And I think there’s no limit to how good that character’s going to be once we get to bring him back.”
‘Eternals’ director Chloe Zhao revealed that she was the driving force behind the decision to give the ‘As It Was’ hitmaker a role in the MCU.
She said: “Long story short, with that depressing ending, at some point he was going to be one of the Eternals on that ship.
“And that didn’t quite work out.
“But I had been wanting to bring Eros into the MCU.
“So I kept mentioning [casting Harry Styles] to Kevin [Feige] at every chance I had in the hallway, because I love the idea of Eros being another Eternal, another Ajak. He’s an Eternal, and he was stationed on Titan – 10 of them were, just like the 10 Eternals on Earth, assuming Titan is also a host planet at some point.
“Now, if you think about that, what influence could Eros have had on the inhabitants of Titan, the way Ajak has influenced people on Earth? And how that has affected Thanos.”

Letitia Wright: Third Black Panther film is in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — Letitia Wright has claimed that a third ‘Black Panther’ film is “already in the works”.
The 29-year-old actress stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchise as Shuri and gave fans a positive update about a new film at the Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday (10.01.23).
Letitia told Variety: “I think it’s already in the works. You know, we just had a terrific two years of bringing it out and everybody coming together to support it.
“We need a little bit of a break, we need to regroup and (director) Ryan (Coogler) needs to get back into the lab, so it’s going to take a little while, but we’re really excited for you guys to see that.”
When pressed for more about the movie, Letitia claimed that she was “manifesting” the project into existence.
She said: “I always try to do positive words and positive thinking, and I believe that good words manifest, so I’m manifesting a ‘Black Panther 3’, why not?”
Marvel chief Kevin Feige previously confirmed that had been having “conversations” about a third film with director Ryan Coogler that has seen “ideas pitched back and forth”.
Speaking last year, Feige said: “I go back to what I said when we decided to make ‘Wakanda Forever’ after losing Chad.
“This mythology and this ensemble and these characters deserve to continue and will continue after all of us are gone, I hope, and will continue forever in movies the way it has in comics for 50-plus years.”
Coogler claimed to have “no idea” about his next movie after completing ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ – which was made poignant by the passing of the original film’s lead star Chadwick Boseman from cancer in 2020.
He said: “I can tell you definitively I have no idea what I’m doing next as a writer and director.”

Colin Murray made permanent host of Countdown

OHMYGOSSIP — Colin Murray has been named as the permanent host of ‘Countdown’.
The 45-year-old presenter has fronted the long-running Channel 4 daytime game show since Anne Robinson stepped down last summer and will now present the show on a full-time basis.
Speaking after the news was announced on ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch’, Colin said: “It’s a career dream to be named as permanent anchor of one of television’s most iconic programmes.
“I have been a fan since day one, been part of the family over a decade, appearing on Dictionary Corner, and now I get the honour of guiding it into a fifth decade.”
The BBC Radio 5 Live presenter continued: “However, I don’t just want ‘Countdown’ to survive, I want it to thrive.
“During my caretaker stint we’ve seen more people tune back in, with close to a million watching the series final in December, and I want that to just be the beginning.
“‘Countdown’ is a special game show, and its stars will always be the letters and the numbers, but it’s more than that.
“Great afternoon company for people of all ages from all across the UK.”
Murray first presented ‘Countdown’ during the second coronavirus lockdown in England which left former host Nick Hewer, 78, unable to travel to the set. He then fronted the show on a “caretaker” basis following Robinson’s departure last July.
Channel 4’s head of daytime and feature, Jo Street, said that the broadcaster had “listened to the fans” by keeping Colin as the permanent host.
She said: “We have listened to the fans.
“Many have written in to let us know how much they love Colin on the show, and so I am delighted to be able to confirm that he is staying in the hot seat alongside lexicographer Susie Dent and maths whiz Rachel Riley MBE.”

Myleene Klass prefers to let fiance cook

OHMYGOSSIP — Myleene Klass prefers the “social” side of entertaining to having to cook.
The 44-year-old musician – who has Ava, 15, and Hero, 11, with ex-husband Graham Quinn and tree-year-old Apollo with fiance Simon Motson – usually leaves her partner to rustle up their meals but this Valentine’s Day (14.02.23), the Smooth Radio presenter will be doing the honours.
And Myleene admitted her own My Supper Hero range will make the romantic meal much easier thanks to their Valentine’s Day Special, which features Leg of milk fed lamb slow roasted in smoked harissa, with confit Jerusalem artichokes, artichoke crisps, salsa verde, feta and olive braised spinach, sheep’s milk yogurt dip, and glazed potato terrine, followed by sticky toffee pudding from Happy Endings.
She said: “In my house, Sim is the cook. He loves pottering around the kitchen, coming up with new dishes, following recipes. I’m the total opposite. I like to get to the social side. Everyone around the table, chatting, enjoying the food, sharing stories.
“That’s why My Supper Hero is a lifesaver. Every week, I just choose a new dish from the menu. It looks and tastes phenomenal and it’s done in minutes. I am a huge fan of the Cote de boeuf and the whole roasted Cauliflower.

Joey Essex bragged he was ‘secret ice-skating demon’ in memoir

OHMYGOSSIP — Joey Essex once claimed he was a “secret ice-skating demon”.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star recently admitted he was looking forward to “learning a new skill” on the upcoming ‘Dancing on Ice’ series, but he has previously boasted about how he can skate backwards and do “fancy shapes” on the ice.
In his 2014 book ‘Being Reem’, he wrote: “If you went to Romford ice rink on a Saturday afternoon you’d see me, little Joey Essex, whizzing about like some icy ninja.
“I can still ice-skate now – I’m one of those blokes who gets on the ice and starts skimming about backwards doing fancy shapes (to impress the ladies).”
Joey also admitted he would be able to “easily pull off that Lycra” on the ITV show.
He added in the tome: “Imagine if I’d gone on Dancing on Ice. I reckon I could easily pull off that Lycra.”
Earlier this week, Joey – who is partnered with ice skater pro Vanessa Bauer – admitted he was “looking forward to learning a new skill properly”, and to get a “nice bit of structure” into his life.
He said: “I’m looking forward to learning a new skill properly because with ice skating, from what I know, once you’ve learned it, you remember it. The whole journey! I just want to get into it and start working.
“I’ve got a proper long job ahead of me and I’m excited because I love working and being busy.
“I think the reason I’ve decided to do this is it’s going to bring a nice bit of structure into my life. I also like competition and I’m very competitive. For me, this is very exciting. Taking part in ‘Dancing on Ice’ now is the right time for me.
“If you spoke to Joey Essex at 23 and 24, I could have said ‘yes’ to it but I probably wouldn’t have put 100 per cent into it. I feel like doing something like this, I’m very ready for it.”
Asked if he has any ice-skating experience, he admitted: “I used to go ice skating at Romford Ice Rink when I was 11 or 12 – I would just go there with my friends.”

James Cameron: Enough with streaming already

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron is imploring movie fans to get off their backsides and go to the cinema.
The ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ helmer is thrilled to see more and more people heading back to theatres to see movies in all their glory post-pandemic.
The blockbuster sequel has had a huge hand in getting bums on seats, proving a huge hit at the global box office, the film has grossed a whopping $1.7 billion and is expected to reach the $2 billion mark, which only five films have achieved.
Speaking to Variety, Cameron said: “I’m thinking of it in the terms of we’re back to theatres around the world, people are going back to theatres, even going to theatres in China where they’re having this huge COVID surge.
“We’re saying as a society, ‘We need this. We need to go to movie theatres and have that experience.’ Enough with the streaming already. I’m tired of sitting on my a**.”
The filmmaker previously said the film would have to be the “third or fourth highest-grossing film in history” just to break even.
The 68-year-old director confessed the flick was “very f******” expensive to make, and he described the motion picture as the “worst business case in movie history”.
Speaking about how the film could be profitable, he said: “You have to be the third or fourth highest-grossing film in history.
“That’s your threshold. That’s your break even.”
The franchise’s four sequels have an expected budget of around $1 billion.
Cameron admitted he is attracted to “difficult” projects.
He added to GQ magazine: “I like difficult. I’m attracted by difficult. Difficult is a f****** magnet for me. I go straight to difficult.
“And I think it probably goes back to this idea that there are lots of smart, really gifted, really talented filmmakers out there that just can’t do the difficult stuff.
“So that gives me a tactical edge to do something nobody else has ever seen, because the really gifted people don’t f****** want to do it.”

Love Island’s Ron Hall: Being blind in one eye has helped me talk to girls

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s first ever partially-sighted contestant Ron Hall says his disability has helped him to “talk to girls”.
The 25-year-old financial advisor is blind in one eye following a football injury when he was eight years old, but the upcoming Islander says he tries to use it to his “advantage”.
He said: “My past has one hundred per cent, one million per cent shaped me.
“I try and use it to my advantage, you know, it’s a great conversation starter, I’ve got two different colour eyes.
“I’m gonna blow my own trumpet here but my charm … I’m quite charismatic. I like to think I’m not boring.
“I mean don’t get me wrong, I’d like to think I’m not a bad looking fella. But I think it helps me with talking to girls and having a conversation and being confident about it.”
Ron – who has one blue eye and one green eye – admits he makes eye jokes “all the time”.
He added to The Sun newspaper: “I always say, like if a girl walks in, I’ll say to the boys, ‘eye eye’. There’s loads of different play on words that you can use and for me using that as a joke and being comfortable with it, it didn’t really impact me too much.
“For me, the most important thing is there are so many people out there that are in a worse position than me. I think people forget that.
“You know, this one doesn’t really affect me too much on a day-to-day basis. I think you have to learn to adapt to your situation.
“All right, one eye might look a bit funny and a bit clouded, but, you know, that’s part and parcel of what life throws at you.”
Ron recently admitted nobody even knows he is blind in one eye when they first meet him.
He added: “On meeting me, you’d never know I am blind in one eye. It was the result of a football injury when I was 8; I went in for a header and got kicked in the face. I’ve got two different coloured eyes, one blue and one green.
