The Vivienne ‘honoured’ to be first drag queen on Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — The Vivienne gushed that she felt “honoured” to be “the first drag queen” on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The former ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ star – whose real name is James Lee Williams – took to the ice for the first time on Sunday night (23.01.23)’s show.
Vivienne wowed with her transformation into her idol Cher and skated to her classic ‘Strong Enough’ with professional partner Colin Grafton.
The pair managed to score a respectable 28.5 points from the judges.
Christopher Dean remarked: “A star was born on the ice tonight.
“We’ve had a few divas, but you’re our best skating by far.”
Upon the news that she was signing up for the ITV ice skating contest, she said: “I’m beyond excited to announce that I will be competing in ‘Dancing on Ice’ in 2023!
“This is honestly a dream come true and I can’t wait to start training on the ice. To be the first drag artist to take part in one of the big UK reality competition shows is truly an honour.
“I think it’s a big step forward for queer representation on TV.”
John Fashanu was the first celebrity to be voted off 2023’s ‘Dancing on Ice’ last night.
The former footballer, 60, compared being ditched from the show to an FA Cup final and joked he may go on to teach people how to skate.
He lost out after gaining the least points from the judges and failing to get enough votes from the public in a skate-off against Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu – who landed herself in the bottom two by receiving the least amount of public votes.
Speaking to co-hosts Phillip Schofield, 60, and Holly Willoughby, 41, with his professional skating partner Alexandra Schauman, 42, after his exit was announced, John said when asked if he had enjoyed his brief stint on the show: “Oh, it’s been great.”
When Phillip asked: “Will you carry on skating?” John replied: “Oh yes! I shall carry on skating and who knows, I might even start teaching people.”

The 25-year-old actress – who plays Nina Lucas in the ITV soap – has revealed it’s a challenge trying to find somewhere to rehearse her moves in between working 12-hour days on ‘Corrie’ – but she’s determined to do her best.

James Cameron is now the first director with 3 $2bn blockbusters

OHMYGOSSIP — James Cameron has become the first director with three movies to have earned more than $2 billion at the global box office.
The filmmaker’s sequel ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ has now crossed the $2 billion mark, following the first movie (2009’s ‘Avatar’) and 1998’s ‘Titanic’.
A total of six movies have now crossed the milestone, including Marvel blockbuster ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
Cameron previously said the film would have to be the “third or fourth highest-grossing film in history” just to break even.
The 68-year-old director confessed the flick was “very f******” expensive to make.
Speaking about how the film could be profitable, he said: “You have to be the third or fourth highest-grossing film in history.
“That’s your threshold. That’s your break even.”
The franchise’s four sequels all have an expected budget of around $1 billion.
Cameron also admitted he is attracted to “difficult” projects.
He added in a recent interview: “I like difficult. I’m attracted by difficult. Difficult is a f****** magnet for me. I go straight to difficult.
“And I think it probably goes back to this idea that there are lots of smart, really gifted, really talented filmmakers out there that just can’t do the difficult stuff.
“So that gives me a tactical edge to do something nobody else has ever seen, because the really gifted people don’t f****** want to do it.”
Meanwhile, Cameron has implored movie fans to get off their backsides and go to the cinema.
The director is thrilled to see more and more people heading back to theatres to see movies in all their glory post-pandemic.
He said: “I’m thinking of it in the terms of we’re back to theatres around the world, people are going back to theatres, even going to theatres in China where they’re having this huge COVID surge.
“We’re saying as a society, ‘We need this. We need to go to movie theatres and have that experience.’ Enough with the streaming already. I’m tired of sitting on my a**.”

Anne Hathaway says long wait for Princess Diaries 3 is ‘frustrating’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway has admitted the long wait for ‘The Princess Diaries 3 is “frustrating”.
Rumours of a third instalment in the series – which featured Hathaway as an ordinary teen who discovers she’s actually royalty – have been swirling for years but in November it was finally confirmed that Disney are working on a third film – but Anne has told fans to have patience because it could take a while to get going.
Speaking to PEOPLE.com at the Sundance Film Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah over the weekend (21.01.23-22.01.23), she explained: “We feel the exact same, and I know it’s probably very frustrating. It’s a process that requires patience, and so everybody should consider themselves a part of the movie business now, because this is how long it actually takes to make things.”
However, Hathaway – who has not officially signed on for the movie – did tell the publication it felt “thrilling” to “see the level of excitement [for the third film].”
The original film was released in 2001 and was followed by a sequel – ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement’ – three years later which reunited Hathaway with her co-star Dame Julie Andrews.
Andrews – who played Queen Clarisse Renaldi – previously admitted she didn’t think a sequel would get off the ground because so much time had passed since the second instalment.
During an appearance on ‘Access Hollywood’, she explained: “I think we know that it’s probably not going to be possible. It was talked about very shortly after [the second sequel] came out, but it’s now how many years since then? And I am that much older and Annie the princess, or queen, is so much older. And I am not sure where it would float or run.”

Gregory Ebbs exits The Apprentice

OHMYGOSSIP — Gregory Ebbs has been fired on ‘The Apprentice’.
The 26-year-old entrepreneur has become the latest contestant to exit the BBC show after being axed by Lord Sugar.
Gregory – who owns an online antiques marketplace – was fired from the show after he failed to impress Lord Sugar during the latest task, which required the teams to create a cartoon aimed at young children.
Gregory and his team pitched a cartoon that featured characters playing a clapping game. However, they ran out of time during the design stage and their final product didn’t include the clapping hands.
Lord Sugar subsequently highlighted Gregory’s role in their under-performance.
He said: “I think you went missing in this task – we almost sent Dora the Explorer looking for you.”
Lord Sugar also described the cartoon as “pathetic”.
Despite this, Gregory has suggested that another contestant should’ve been fired instead of him.
He pointed out that a lot of faith was put in Reece Donnelly, the group’s team leader, and Gregory argued that he ultimately let them down.
The entrepreneur – who has his own YouTube channel – told RadioTimes.com: “Reece came in and he had a lot of experience with that particular task. So, a lot of responsibility lies with him.
“But on the other hand, as I say, the characters, the cartoon, the pitch – these are all factors which, unfortunately, we just didn’t match up to.
“I mean, the performance of the other team was a lot better than ours. So it’s difficult to place responsibility on one shoulders, but certainly the team leader does hold a lot of responsibility.”

Love Island stars Haris Namani and Shaq Muhammad involved in heated row

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ stars Haris Namani and Shaq Muhammad became embroiled in a heated row following a game of beer pong.
The duo had to be pulled apart by the other Islanders at one point, after they disagreed about the earlier challenge.
Shaq called the TV salesman a “s*** stirrer” after Haris commented on new bombshell David’s kiss with Tanya, Shaq’s partner.
David locked lips with Tanya after being dared to kiss the Islander that he fancied the most. Haris subsequently asked him about the snog, prompting Shaq to accuse him to trying to create tensions within the villa.
The row then escalated and the two boys ultimately needed to be pulled apart, as the situation threatened to get out of control.
Meanwhile, the girls sat and watched the row in shock from the other side of the villa.
Prior to entering the ‘Love Island’ villa, Shaq admitted to being a “very emotional person”. The 24-year-old airport security officer also suggested that his emotional approach can lead him into trouble from time to time.
He said: “I’m a very emotional person. It can be a blessing and a curse.”
Haris, on the other hand, insisted that he’s determined to find love in the villa.
He explained: “I’ve never found love. I think this is the show that can help me.”
Haris, 21, thinks he could find his dream girl on the ITV show.

Love Island’s Will Young thinks Olivia and Tom are ‘better suited’ to each other

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Young thinks Olivia Hawkins is “better suited” to Tom Clare.
The 23-year-old farmer is currently taking part in the hit ITV reality dating show ‘Love Island’ and even though he is now in danger of being evicted after ring girl Olivia, 27, left him for bombshell arrival Tom, 23, he believes the two make a better match.
Fresh from the re-coupling at the fire pit, Will told Tom on Wednesday’s (18.01.23) episode: “Honestly, you are well better suited. It just means that I’ve got to graft a little harder now!”
Elsewhere in the episode, Will was seen the following morning grabbing Lana Jenkins, 25, for a chat on the beanbags but despite appearing to get closer, the makeup artist brushed Will off as “not her type” and insisted that she only has feelings for financial advisor Ron, 25, whom she is currently coupled up with.
Will asked Lana: “Where’s your head at about me?”
She replied: “I think you are lovely, but I haven’t got that spark about you.”
Meanwhile, airport security guard Shaq Muhammad, 24, cosied up to biomedical student Tanya Manhenga, 22, by the fireplace as he admitted he just wants to “keep her close.”
He said: “That was intense, something like that kind of puts things into perspective, in those kinds of situations you…”
Tanya asks: “You what?”

In her own confessional, Tanya later acknowledged that even though the “vibe” was “making sense”, it was “too soon” for her to kiss him just yet.
She said: “He tried to give me a little kiss and the vibe was making sense, but I can’t give it him too soon.”

Liam Neeson hopes Naked Gun reboot will start shooting in summer

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Neeson is hopeful the ‘Naked Gun’ reboot will start shooting this summer.
The 70-year-old actor is to take on the leading role in the movie as Frank Drebin, Jr., the son of Leslie Nielsen’s character Detective Frank Drebin – the main character of the original film, ‘The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!’ – and the cast and crew are hoping the movie will “happen this year”.
He said: “We’re waiting on a script. Yeah, we’re hoping it’ll happen this year, maybe in the summertime.”
Neeson admitted Seth MacFarlane and his team are currently working on the script for the movie.
Asked if the film is a priority for everyone involved, he told Collider: “Yeah, Paramount Studios, I think. I approached Seth MacFarlane, he and his team are working on it, the scripts.
“So, we’re hoping to go in the summertime, you know?”
The original movie – based on the 1982 TV series ‘Police Squad!’, which had been axed after six episodes – starred Nielsen as Drebin, a detective with plenty of fight but lacking in common sense.
Over the course of three movies, he turned the loveable character into a comic icon.
The franchise also starred Priscilla Presley and Ricardo Montalban and proved to be a huge hit.
But in October, Presley admitted she doesn’t want to feature in the reboot.
She said: “No, I won’t (be in it)! I wouldn’t do it really if I was asked because you don’t fix something that’s already fixed.
“That movie I don’t think can be rebooted in the way that Leslie Nielsen and I did it. It was just a great relationship and friendship and we got along great on the set and that was just all fun and what a great experience.
“Now, in this one, gosh, the actors who are playing the characters, I can’t see it visually. Maybe it will come across as great, but I wouldn’t be a part of it.”

M3GAN sequel confirmed for 2025

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘M3GAN’ sequel is officially in the works.
‘M3GAN 2.0’, a follow-up to the hit horror, which follows an AI doll who develops chilling self awareness, is slated to hit cinemas on January 17, 2025.
Writer Akela Cooper will once again pen the script and stars Allison Williams (Gemma) and Violet McGraw (Cady) will return in their respective roles, Variety reports.
It’s not known if director Gerard Johnstone will be back at the helm or if M3GAN portrayers Amie Donald or Jenna Davis will reprise the role.
Jason Blum recently admitted ‘M3GAN’ convinced him to break his “cardinal rule” on sequels.
The Blumhouse boss produced the blockbuster and has reflected on his decision to consider a follow-up much “earlier” than he would normally do so.
He told the publication: “After I first saw the movie, we had a good sense that a sequel might really work. So, we broke our cardinal rule and we started talking about a sequel before the movie was released.
“I felt so bullish that we started entertaining a sequel earlier than we usually do.”
Blum noted that studio Atomic Monster pitched the style and admitted “every detail matters”.
He added: “The title treatment was from Atomic Monster. It came to us with that title, with the 3 for an ‘e’. It’s all important.
“When you get something to connect with culture, it’s very tricky. It happens so rarely. Every detail matters. You never know what actually did it, but the title certainly played a part.”

‘They’re dead to me’: Eamonn Holmes addresses revenge and feuds

OHMYGOSSIP — Eamonn Holmes says some of his former colleagues are “dead” to him.
The 63-year-old TV presenter insisted it was “good not to like people” and “good to have revenge” at times, during a conversation on ‘GB News Breakfast’ about revenge and feuds.
Eamonn’s co-host Isabel Webster said to him: “You talk a good game about this. You do, you talk a good game about it but actually, all the people in your life that you’ve had ding dongs with in the past, you’re on great terms with now when I think about it.”
While Eamonn admitted he can “forgive and forget” some past grievances, he claims some people he has come across in life are “evil”.
Speaking on the show, he said: “No, but there’s other people who are dead to me, who have got names that I can’t reveal.
“That’s the thing, I think once you cross that … well, there are evil people.
“Let’s face it, there are evil people, there are. And in the fight against good and evil – which I am good – the only enemy you want is a defeated enemy.”
In June, Eamonn admitted he wants to know why he was let go from ‘This Morning’.
He fronted the ITV brunch-time TV show with his wife Ruth Langsford from 2006 until 2022 and while he claims the version of events ITV tells is that he “left them to go to GB News” – which ITV denies – he has accused the channel of “putting out all the lies they want”.
He said: “The department of disinformation at ITV can put out all the lies they want. I wish somebody would show me the email or the letter that I was sent to say, ‘Eamonn, this is why this is coming to an end’. But to tell lies, that I left them to go to GB News … I didn’t – they left me. Let’s get it straight. They left me. I don’t care, because our audience is only up.”
Former ‘X Factor’ presenter Dermot O’Leary and ex-‘Big Brother’ star Alison Hammond took over the show’s Friday slot while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield remain as regular presenters on Mondays to Thursdays.
Eamonn added that while TV companies are at liberty to do as they please, it has “surprised” him who has been kept.
He said: “You have no right to be there. TV companies can do whatever they want with you. It’s just, sometimes it surprises you, the ones they hold on to.”
A spokesperson for ITV said: “This isn’t a version of events that we recognise, and as we have said before we wish Eamonn all of the very best.”

The 30-year-old star – Great Britain’s most successful female Olympian – and her husband, Sir Jason Kenny, have confirmed they are expecting their second child together.
Laura – who has five-year-old son Albie with Jason – wrote on her Instagram Stories: “Today I felt like I couldn’t hide away anymore. I’m already starting to show and the anxiety I have felt has been unreal. Telling the world means I have to accept we are having another baby and this fills me with all kinds of emotions.”
Laura admitted she is “scared” that she might lose another baby, after suffering a miscarriage in November 2021, and an ectopic pregnancy in January 2022.
She wrote: “I’m scared every single day that I might have to go through the pain of losing another baby. It makes you feel ungrateful for something you’ve so desperately wanted for the last year.
“But I also know there are going to be so many people, like I was, seeing my post and wishing I would go away with my happy ending.
“But I also know, when I was lying in the hospital bed, I was searching for people’s happy endings because it was the only thing giving me any comfort at the time. That maybe, just maybe I would get my happy ending.”
Cyclist Laura – who won five gold medals and one silver at Olympic Games in London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020 – also revealed it was a year to the day since she was given the devastating news that she was having an ectopic pregnancy.
She wrote: “A year ago today I was sat in A and E knowing I was really poorly but not knowing what was wrong with me.
“When I got the news I was having an ectopic pregnancy my world felt like it crumbled. We had already lost our second baby in November and I remember lying there searching for some sort of answer.
“I still feel this heartbreak today and I don’t think it will ever go away. But today a year on…”
Fellow cyclist Jason holds the record for the most Olympic medals (nine) and gold medals (seven) for a British athlete.

Michael Jackson biopic in development

OHMYGOSSIP — A Michael Jackson biopic is in the works.
Antoine Fuqua has been tapped to direct a take on the King of Pop’s life in a movie titled ‘Michael’.
Graham King, who worked on the Oscar-winning Freddie Mercury film ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, is producing the biopic along with John Branca and John McClain – the co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate.
John Logan, who has penned ‘Gladiator’ and ‘The Aviator’, is writing the script.
Michael rose from child stardom in the Jackson 5 to become the biggest pop star on the planet before his tragic death at the age of 50 in 2009.
Lionsgate say that the movie will address “all aspects” of the music icon’s life, although it is unclear how it will deal with the many controversies surrounding Jackson as the star’s estate has defended him against allegations of sexually abusing children.
In a statement, Fuqua said: “The first films of my career were music videos, and I still feel that combining film and music are a deep part of who I am.
“For me, there is no artist with the power, the charisma, and the sheer musical genius of Michael Jackson. I was influenced to make music videos by watching his work – the first Black artist to play in heavy rotation on MTV.
“His music and those images are part of my worldview, and the chance to tell his story on the screen alongside his music was irresistible.”
Music biopics have proven successful in recent years with ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ earning $910 million at the global box office and Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Elvis’ helping to lure older audiences back to the cinema following the pandemic after it was released last year.
Fuqua recently directed the Will Smith movie ‘Emancipation’ and is currently filming ‘The Equalizer 3’ with Denzel Washington. His other credits include ‘Training Day’ and ‘Olympus Has Fallen’.

Alex Scott recalls attempted kidnap threat in Russia

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Scott was once nearly kidnapped by an Uber driver in Russia.
The 38-year-old TV presenter was working for the BBC in Moscow in 2018 when she ordered a car for a 15-minute journey to her hotel, during which the “stacked, bald” driver used Google translate to tell her she wouldn’t be making it home, resulting in her body going “numb”.
In her memoir ‘How (Not) To Be Strong’, she wrote: “He looked at me and said – in English – ‘Tell them they will never see you again.’
“‘I don’t understand,’ I stammered.
“My Uber driver picked up his phone and spoke into it, waiting for me to see the words as they appeared via Google Translate. ‘Tonight I am not taking you home,’ [it] read. ‘You come with me.’
“‘Oh my God,’ was my first thought… ‘I’m never going to see Mum again.’ ”
But Alex told the driver she was meeting Russian president Vladimir Putin the next day, after she had met him at the Kremlin alongside fellow BBC pundit Rio Ferdinand earlier that day.
She warned the motorist that Putin would “find” him if she wasn’t there to meet him, and he started driving back to her hotel.
Alex wrote: “Putin! I had been with Putin that morning! ‘You can’t kill me,’ I said. ‘I have to see Putin tomorrow.’
“He started laughing. ‘No one sees Putin’. I was scrambling now, pulling up photos from the morning’s visit to the Kremlin that had made newspaper headlines. His laughter died and I could see the cogs whirring as he tried to process what I was showing him. ‘If I don’t see Putin tomorrow, he will find you.’ ”
Elsewhere in the book, Alex revealed she was “madly and deeply in love” with fellow former England and Arsenal footballer Kelly Smith.

ITV announce Love Island-style show for single parents

OHMYGOSSIP — ITV are making a ‘Love Island’-style show for single parents.
The network have confirmed the news that they are working on a new dating show, ‘The Romance Retreat’, which has been compared to the ITV2 dating competition – which is currently airing nightly and hosted by Maya Jama – through an online casting call for kids to sign up their “vibrant single parents”.
The description reads: “ITV1 are looking for vibrant single parents from across the UK who are in search of love, for a brand new dating show!
” This is the ONLY dating show where single parents can search for love, by spending time in a luxury retreat, where all the parents have been nominated by their grown up children. (sic)”
The call out seems to give people a snapshot at the sprawling luxury villa they are hoping to host the fun in.
This announcement comes after months of speculation that a ‘Love Island’ for those with a little more life experience could be in the works.
A presenter for the show is yet to be announced, but former ‘Big Brother’ host Davina McCall, 55, has made no secret about her desire to take the hosting reins.
She recently said: “I’ve got no embarrassment or shame in emailing a TV company and going, ‘Have you thought about this? What about this? Can I do this?’
“I’m literally begging ITV to let me present mid-life ‘Love Island’.”
The ‘Masked Singer’ judge – who split from her ex Matthew Robertson, 54, in 2017 with whom she has Holly, 21, Tilly, 19, and Chester, 16, but has since found love with her new man Michael Douglas, 48 – believes the contestants will have “the best back stories”.
She said: “I could fill a villa in Love Island with middle aged people with the best back stories you have ever heard in your life.
“They’ve lived a life, they’re widows, they’re people who have been through horrific divorces.”
