Abbey Clancy’s dad ‘went ballistic’ when he discovered she was dating Peter Crouch

OHMYGOSSIP — Abbey Clancy’s dad went “ballistic” when he found out she was dating Peter Crouch.
The 37-year-old model first met the sportsman back in 2006 when he was playing for Liverpool F.C. and she’s admitted she kept news about their blossoming romance secret from her family until they had been out a few times and says her dad had a meltdown when he found out.
Speaking on ‘The Therapy Crouch’ podcast, Abbey explained: “I don’t know why I was being so secretive. I think because I was so young and I was embarrassed to tell my mum I was going on a date.
“My dad is the biggest Liverpool fan on Earth, but I remember telling them when we had a few dates and he went ballistic. He was like, ‘I can’t believe you are going out with a football player. It is such a bad look’.”
The couple – who married in 2011 and became parents to four children – met at a birthday party in Liverpool which was held close to the restaurant where Abbey was working as a waitress – and Peter admits she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
He said of their first meeting: “Ab came over to me. It was insane. I couldn’t pull a hamstring in London. I went up to Liverpool and then you came over and I was like: ‘Wow – this place is incredible’ …
“You came over, and this sounds corny, but I have never seen a more beautiful girl in my life. I always remember your eyes. Your mum has got them as well. They’re incredible.”
However, the romance didn’t get off to a flying start on their first date when Peter took her to a pub near his home.
Abbey explained: “I think you had a bit of an ulterior motive because when we got into the pub, Pete was like: ‘That is my bedroom window there.’
“I was thinking: ‘Hang on a minute, does he think he is going to get me p***** and take me back to his flat? Because that is not happening whatsoever’.”
Peter added: “‘It was not a great first date. But at the time I was playing for Liverpool and just got in the England squad so everything for me had to be low-key.
“I had to find a girl that I loved but I didn’t want to take you straight into something mad. I wanted to go where no one could see us and find out if we got on.”
Abbey then joked: “Well that little wooden stool in the back of an old man’s pub was perfect.”

Jack O’Connell and Eddie Marsan cast in Amy Winehouse biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack O’Connell, Eddie Marsan and Lesley Manville have been cast in the Amy Winehouse biopic ‘Back to Black’.
The trio have boarded the new movie that will star Marisa Abela as the tragic Grammy-winning singer.
The film is being directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, who was close friends with the music star before she passed away at the age of 27 in 2011.
O’Connell will play the role of Blake Fielder-Civil, who married Amy in 2007 but divorced the star prior to her passing after a turbulent relationship filled with booze and drugs.
Marsan will star as Winehouse’s father Mitch and Manville is to portray her maternal grandmother Cynthia.
The biopic has the support of Mitch Winehouse and he is pleased that the project will concentrate on his daughter’s “talent”.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s something we’re excited about as a family because it will concentrate on Amy’s talent. And when all is said and done, that’s what we are left with.
“It will be amazing for fans to relive her genius and introduce her music to a whole new generation. Amy loved championing artists so she would have been so excited to see what Marisa will bring to the role and would be very supportive of her.”
Taylor-Johnson said of the movie: “My connection to Amy began when I left college and was hanging out in the creatively diverse London borough of Camden.
“I got a job at the legendary Kolo Club, and I can still breathe every market stall, vintage shop and street… A few years later Amy wrote her searingly honest songs whilst living in Camden.
“Like with me, it became part of her DNA. I first saw her perform at a talent show at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in Soho and it was immediately obvious she wasn’t just ‘talent’… she was genius.”

Eddie Murphy was convinced to make Beverly Hills Cop return by Jerry Bruckheimer

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Murphy has revealed that Jerry Bruckheimer’s involvement convinced him to return for ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley’.
The 61-year-old star is reprising his role as Foley in the long-awaited fourth ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ film and said that the chance to collaborate with Bruckheimer – who has produced blockbusters such as ‘Top Gun’ – again was a key factor in him returning to the franchise.
Asked how he was convinced to make another film, Eddie told Collider: “Jerry Bruckheimer, the original producer. When he got involved, and he started developing the script, and he knew what ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ was supposed to be.
“When he got back involved, that’s when it all started to come together. Because we tried for years and years, maybe 10, 12 years, and I must have read five or six different scripts, and it was never right. The studio was like, ‘Let’s go. Here it is.’ It was like, ‘It’s just not it.'”
The ‘Nutty Professor’ star continued: “Jerry Bruckheimer got back in there, and he knows his s***, and he put it together. He did (‘Top Gun: Maverick’) just last year, and ‘Bad Boys’ is Jerry Bruckheimer.
“So we have that same brain behind ‘Beverly Hills Cop’, and he put all the pieces in place that were required for us to make a great movie. And I’m excited for people to see it.”
Eddie admits that the stunts he performed during the shoot have taken their toll on his body and contrasted the experience to the original film in 1984.
He explained: “I’m not 21. It was a long time ago, and it’s a really physical movie. And then I had to do some physical stuff. I know Tom Cruise likes to do physical stuff but I like to be on the couch.
“I don’t like to be jumping over, and shooting, and running, and I had to do some jumping and shooting and running, and as a result, had a knee brace at the end of the movie. I had a knee brace, and my back is messed up, and all that. But the movie is going to be special.”

Russell T. Davies ‘loving’ being back on Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Russell T. Davies says he’s “loving” being back in the world of ‘Doctor Who’ after returning to the show.
The writer/producer has been credited with reviving the BBC series back in 2005 during his tenure as head writer and producer but exited in 2009 to work on other projects before announcing he would return as showrunner to look after the 2023 run.
Speaking during an appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Russell admitted he’s thrilled to be back working on his beloved series, saying: “I am loving it, loving it so much. We’ve three specials and then a brand-new doctor, who is amazing.”
‘Doctor Who’ returns this year with Ncuti Gatwa in the lead role.
Russell’s latest project is a new three-part series for ITVX called ‘Nolly’ which stars Helena Bonham Carter as ‘Crossroads’ actress Noele Gordon.
During his chat with Graham, Russell admitted he was a huge fan of the soap – which originally ran from 1964 until 1988 – and was thrilled to get a chance to write a script for the show shortly before it was cancelled.
He said: “The first thing I ever wrote was a script for ‘Crossroads’. I sent it off and they invited me to Birmingham. I was so excited to be there because I loved it so much, but I could see the fear in their eyes when they realised, I was a super fan. I went away and wrote a proper script and sent it off. Five days later the show was axed. I waited 40 years and finally got to write it so got there in the end!”
‘The Graham Norton Show’ airs on BBC One on Friday January 20 at 10.40pm. It is also available on BBC iPlayer.

Chloe Madeley’s baby daughter was rushed to hospital amid sepsis and meningitis fears

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Madeley’s baby daughter was rushed to hospital amid fears she had contracted sepsis or meningitis.
The ex ‘Dancing on Ice’ star, 35, and her former rugby star husband James Haskell, 37, took her “little love” five-month-old Bodhi for emergency medical treatment after she got “very poorly”.
In a video posted to Instagram caption, Chloe explained: “My little love has been very poorly this week. 2 trips to hospital and a lot of tears. Her temperature went from 39.8 degrees on Saturday morning to 34° on Sunday night, so I was extremely worried about meningitis and sepsis.”
Chloe revealed the youngster’s blood tests showed she had type A flu, a virus that still demands doctor attention.
She said: “I say just, wow has she been unwell. Has anyone else had their little one’s temp drop that low with flu virus? Im still a bit confused as to how / why that happened.”
The personal trainer – and daughter of ex ‘Richard and Judy’ stars Richard Madeley, 66, and Judy Finnigan, 74 – asked her followers if they had experienced similar woes before explaining how “amazed” she was how Bodhi being ill had impacted her sleep and work, writing how shocked “how hard the last five days have been”.
Chloe continued: “I just want to say to any and all mothers out there who have to make these kinds of trips and deal with these kinds of things on a regular basis, that I am in AWE of you.
“That you are real life superheroes. That you amaze me. And also to the doctors and nurses pulling the graveyard shifts in paediatric A+E, thank you, you are the best of us [red heart emoji]”.
Late last year, her father – who sometimes slips into the presenting chair on ‘Good Morning Britain’ – detailed how he loved his home becoming “baby central” after his daughter and her hubby moved in with him amid their house renovations.
Richard said: So they’ve been living with us for three months, and I love it! You just go in and it’s like, “baby, baby, baby” everywhere.
“I enjoy it, let’s put it that way. She’s a beautiful baby. Little Bobo.”

Shona McGarty devastated after her dog named after Phil Mitchell dies

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ star Shona McGarty has been left grief-stricken following the death of her beloved dog.
The 31-year-old actress treated herself to a Jack Russell pup shortly after landing a job in the BBC soap back in 2008 – even naming him Mitch after the show’s character Phil Mitchell – and she has been left devastated after he passed away earlier this week.
She shared a picture of Mitch as a puppy on her Instagram page, and wrote: “When I got the job on ‘EastEnders’, still living at home, and my first pay check at the age of 16, I bought a gorgeous little pup, for my family.
“A gorgeous black and white Jack Russell. When I met him he was so vocal, a real fiesty little fella. A bit like Phil Mitchell. So, I decided to name him Mitch. After Mitchell of course. He made us so happy, and we had so much fun.”
Shona went on to explain how Mitch became a part of her family and was always there for her whenever she felt down.
The telly star added: “My sister, Mitch and I grew up together. He loved dressing up, he loved his ball, he loved trying to bite the shadows on the walls! He had such a kind heart, he’d catch mice or flys[sic], and just want to play with them, never hurt them.
“He was so incredibly fast! He’d show off, and out run all the other dogs in the park. He was also a huge flirt with the ladies … ”
Shona concluded her post by writing: “He changed our lives. He showed us so much love. He was there for me when I was upset, or hurt, he was always right beside me. Today, we lost my little mate. We’ll remember you always Mitchy. Rest in peace.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez was reluctant to star in ‘Shotgun Wedding’.
The 53-year-old actress leads the cast of Jason Moore’s film but was initially unsure about starring in the project after working on the movie ‘Marry Me’ and was only convinced after reading Mark Hammer’s script.
Jennifer told The Hollywood Reporter at the movie’s Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday (18.01.23): “(I had) just signed on to do ‘Marry Me’ and was about do it and was like, ‘Ah, I don’t want to do another wedding movie.’
“I remember, I was in my tub and was like, ‘Let me read it and I was like, ‘Oh this is funny, this could be good; depending on who directed this, it could be really good.’ And then when we got (director) Jason Moore I was like, ‘OK, this is gonna be fun’, and we got this amazing cast.”
The movie tells the story of a couple who gather their families for a destination wedding but the pair must save their loved ones when the guests are taken hostage.

He said: “(I) knew that it wasn’t going to be difficult for us to connect in a way that was realistic on film, because if we weren’t able to do that the movie wasn’t going to work and we talked about that.
“We talked about trusting each other and no matter what: I’ve got your back and you’ve got mine so go for it, don’t be afraid to do something silly.”

John Altman says Dot Cotton’s EastEnders funeral was too short

OHMYGOSSIP — John Altman is convinced Dot Cotton’s ‘EastEnders’ funeral was too short.
The actor – who played Dot’s villainous son Nick Cotton – was devastated after his onscreen mum June Brown died aged 95 last year and he was among the viewers who tuned in to see her character’s memorial service on the BBC soap when it aired in December.
However, John is adamant the scenes could have been extended, telling the Daily Star newspaper: “It seemed to be quite quick. They should have done an hour-long episode to pay homage to her. They could have put in some old scenes from over the years.
“But I do think they did June justice. I liked the cigarettes being thrown onto the coffin. June would have liked that.”
John attended June’s real life funeral after her death and said it was strange subsequently watching her character’s memorial on TV.
He added: “It was quite bizarre. I went to her real funeral and then I watched the one on TV. I was quite moved by it. I found it very emotional.”
A number of famous faces returned to Albert Square to pay their last respects to Dot, including Jacqueline Jossa – who played Lauren Branning – and Tom Watt – who played Lofty Holloway as well as Gary Hailes who was previously seen on the show as Barry Clark back in the 1980s.
However, John was unable to take part in the filming as his character Nick had been killed off 2015 . His mum Dot later confessed to killing him and spent several months behind bars.

Michelle Williams was ecstatic to land a role in The Fabelmans

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Williams “jumped up and down with excitement” after being cast in ‘The Fabelmans’.
The 42-year-old star features in Steven Spielberg’s semi-autobiographical film as Mitzi Schildkraut-Fabelman, the mother of Sammy Fabelman (Gabriel LaBelle) – the character based on the legendary film director as a child – and was overjoyed to land the part.
During an appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Michelle recalled: “I got a text saying Steven wanted to talk to me and I thought I was reading it wrong.
“I was jumping up and down with excitement as only middle-aged people do and then we are on a Zoom, and he is telling me he wants me to play his mom, someone he loved and adored in a film that honours his parents.
“It was a good day – one glorious day before the terror of playing the role set in!”
The ‘Shutter Island’ actress explained how it was “emotional” to see Spielberg at work on the most personal movie of his career.
Michelle said: “It was beautiful. It was emotional to watch him in such a tender place. He invited us to come into this vulnerable time in his life which was very generous and brave on his part.”
The star memorably spoke out about the gender pay gap in Hollywood at the Emmy Awards in 2019 and described the speech as the proudest moment of her life.
She said: “It is amazing when you find yourself in the middle of something like that and realise everyone is looking to you.
“It wound up being an incredible teaching moment because the disparity was so enormous it really shone a light on women being underpaid in the workplace. I found myself as the person most able to talk about it and I think when I look back on my life that will be the moment, I am most proud of. I am very shy but found my voice to stand up and speak out.”

David Salako dumped from Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — David Salako has left ‘Love Island.’
The 24-year-old money advisor – who hails from Essex – had been taking part in the hit ITV2 reality dating show and had entered the South African villa as a bombshell arrival earlier this week along with Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown but became the first Islander to leave the show this series after 22-year-old biomedical science student Tanya Manhenga recoupled with airport security worker Shaq Muhammad during Friday’s (20.01.23) episode.
Following his exit, he said: “Going in as a bombshell was nerve-wracking! So, entering the Villa with Zara was great, as we were so confident together. I felt that we did shake things up a bit. The Islanders already had such a bond, so it was good going in with another Islander. Me and Tanya did have a good bond. We just found it easy to have a conversation with each other. But maybe that’s all it was between us, just good conversation.”
When asked about the recupling, he admitted he had “no idea” which boy Tanya was going to pick and admitted that she and Shaq have a “good bond” before insisting that his former co-stars need a bit more “confidence” in themselves.
He added: “I didn’t know who Tanya was going to pick. It was a 50/50 split between Shaq and I. The four things she said during the re-coupling, I thought were about me, and then she picked Shaq. I
was like, that’s wonderful. They’ve got a good bond, but they’ll have tests. Shaq will have a girl come in who likes him. So it’ll be interesting to see if his head turns. But for now they are a good couple, definitely.
“I feel like people need to be a bit more confident with how they feel. People are scared of hurting other people’s feelings, which is obviously OK. No-one wants to hurt anyone’s
feelings. But you’ve just got to be a bit selfish in there. You need to come out of your comfort zone and you need to be confident. If someone doesn’t fancy you, they don’t fancy you!”
‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

He said: “It was divine timing, I think it is the perfect opportunity for me to finally meet someone. Besides being an Aussie, I’m different to most because I have a sense of awareness of who
I am and what I’m looking for. When I’m talking to girls it’s not on a surface level, I can dive deeper to try and build a connection. I’m loyal, honest, great at communication and self-awareness so when it comes to dealing with obstacles and adversity in a relationship. I’m able to talk openly about how I feel to try and work around things. I think the key to any good relationship is being content in yourself and I’m very happy in myself and who I am. I’m also very good looking, obviously!”
Aaron – who will arrive as a bombshell in the villa on Saturday night’s (20.01.22) episode went on to add that he didn’t “open [himself] up to opportunities” during his stint on the show Down Under so this time round wants to be “open-minded” with his approach to finding a girl.
He said: “When I was in the Love Island Australia Villa, I didn’t open myself up to other opportunities
that I could’ve possibly had. This time round I want to be testing the waters by being open-minded and giving everyone a chance. In terms of my experience in the previous Villa, I went in there wanting to be myself and I can truly say I felt comfortable in myself in every way so I’d never change it.”

Love Island’s Jessie Wynter has been single for “quite some time”

She said: “I’m single and have been for quite some time! I’m very lucky to live the life I lead, but it does get a bit lonely. All of my friends are settling down, and it’s time for me to do the same. The
last time I had a relationship, it was in the Love Island Australia Villa – so let’s go! I definitely will be bringing energy to ‘Love Island’. There won’t be a quiet moment. I’m going
to bring those good vibes.”
Jessie went on to add she needs to take “some responsibility” when it comes to her love life and promised that she will show a “very raw” side to herself during her run on the show.
She added: “I probably do need to take a little responsibility – I do travel and move around a lot. When it comes to a relationship, I think I get scared. If there’s someone I genuinely like, for some
reason I back away or I start telling myself they’re too good for me. I always end up doing the opposite of what I should be doing, so in the Villa I’ll have to face those emotions.

Anna Kendrick says actors are treated like ‘insane divas’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Kendrick worries all actors are treated like “insane divas” so she took a very different approach when directing her first film.
The ‘Up In The Air’ star steps behind the lens for the first time to helm ‘The Dating Game’ for Netflix and she’s revealed other members of the crew were worried by her direct style because she refused to treat the castmembers like “delicate little eggshells”.
In a chat with Collider.com, she explained: “I think a lot of the producers were surprised by the amount of stuff that I was doing with the actors in the film, where I think a lot of filmmakers, I don’t know whether it was in a program they went to or whatever, but I think there’s a lot of bad rumours going around about what you can and can’t say to actors.
“So there was a lot of stuff that I would just talk about with actors that people were like, ‘I didn’t know you were allowed to do that!’ Or, ‘I thought that was something you weren’t supposed to do.’ It’s weird. We’re sort of treated like both insane divas and as these delicate little eggshells.”
Anna went on to insist she wasn’t afraid to give the actors candid direction and made sure she allowed them enough “space” to get each take right.
She went on: “That was a really fascinating thing to me that so many people were like, ‘Oh, I didn’t know you were allowed to talk to actors like that,’ because I do think that there’s a rumour going around that we are basically crazy children, which is not not true. We’re barely people. I thought that was interesting.”
Anna stars in the film as Cheryl Bradshaw – a real life contestant on 1970s TV show ‘The Dating Game’ who inadvertently chose serial killer Rodney Alcala to take her out.
The rest of the cast includes Tony Hale, Kelley Jakle and Kathryn Gallagher.
