Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey relished making Maybe I Do

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey relished reuniting to make ‘Maybe I Do’.
The 31-year-old actress and Luke, 33, previously starred together in ‘Holidate’ in 2020, and they were both thrilled to reunite for the new Netflix rom-com.
Luke told Collider: “I think that it was an evolution in the work that we did on ‘Holidate’. I really enjoyed that it was different in the way of the subject matter we were tackling and also the position … The tone and the position each other’s character was in in their life.”
Luke and Emma “really, really wanted to work together again after ‘Holidate'”.
He added: “We had such a good time making it, but we were really conscious that we wanted to make the right one next. And this was just perfect.
“Emma found the script and sent it through and sent me a message saying I had to do it. And yeah, I duly agreed and did as I was told, and I think it worked out really, really well.”
Meanwhile, Emma thinks the new movie will really resonate with her “generation”.
The actress said: “I mean, for me, I’m excited for people to see this movie because I feel like so many people I know are at this point in their lives. I think it’s my generation of like, ‘Okay, am I moving forward with someone, or am I starting over? Or is marriage still relevant?’
“[There are] just all these questions that are in the ether for people my age that I think Michelle and Allen are tackling. And I think that there’s no right or wrong answer. It’s something that everyone needs to figure out for themselves. But Michelle and Allen are an example of how that can be unfurled in ‘Maybe I Do’.”

Susanna Reid leaves Good Morning Britain studio to comfort missing Levi Davis’ mum

OHMYGOSSIP — Susanna Reid briefly left the ‘Good Morning Britain’ studio to comfort the mum of missing rugby player Levi Davis.
The 52-year-old TV presenter was interviewing Julie Davis on the ITV show on Wednesday (25.01.23) alongside her co-host Ed Balls, and when the programme resumed following a break the former politician was presenting alone.
He confirmed Susanna had stepped out of the studio to support Julie, and the TV presenter later returned and praised Julie for being a “tower of strength” after her 24-year-old son went missing.
Levi – who appeared on ‘The X Factor: Celebrity’ in late 2019 – was last seen leaving an Irish pub in Barcelona on October 29th, and since then his passport has been found near the city’s port.
Julie admitted on Wednesday that she has been trying to take a day at a time, but it has been tough.
Speaking on ‘GMB’, a tearful Julie explained: “It’s been very, very difficult, I’ve been trying to take one day at a time. Recently I started back work, just to have some kind of normality because I think sitting at home, looking at the four walls is doing my head in.
“Also on that night, he made a phone call to me to say he was thinking of staying at a hostel here before I take my next journey. I said, oh Levi, how many more times do you wanna take money off me? You’re going to have to sort yourself out this time.
“He said he had some friends he could get in touch with and that’s the last phone call we had.”
Levi competed on ‘The X Factor: Celebrity’ alongside fellow rugby union players Thom Evans and Ben Foden as group Try Star, who finished fifth.

The restaurant owner – who is played by actress Sair Khan – will become involved in the climax of a long-running storyline on the ITV soap opera when she jumps in front of self-radicalised teenager Blake, who has arrived at an event organised by Councillor Connor intent on stabbing her.

Love Island’s Aaron sets sights on Zara

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Aaron Waters is to set his sights on fellow Islander Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown.
The former ‘Love Island Australia’ star recently entered the South African villa of the UK series, and while he is yet to couple up with any of the lovestruck singletons, he looks set to make a move on Zara.
In tonight’s (25.01.23) episode, he catches up with Zara in the gym and asks if she’s open to getting to know him.
Zara replies: “I am yeah, I think we get on really well”.
Aaron agrees: “Yeah I think so too,” as Zara continues: “I don’t know if I’ve told you, but on the outside you’re more my type, looks wise, that I go for and what I’ve gone for in the past.”
Aaron tells Zara: “I think you’ve surprised me most out of everyone, obviously you’re very attractive.”
Elsewhere, the Islanders head to a 90s-themed party, but beforehand two Islanders will leave the villa.
Tom Clare, Haris Namani, Kai Fagan, Tanyel Revan, Tanya Manhenga and Anna-May Robey are all vulnerable, but the decision about which boy and which girl goes is down to Aussie newcomers Aaron and Jessie Wynter.
Later tonight, Jessie whispers to her fellow Islanders: “Love you guys,” and then heads across the garden with Aaron to make their decision.
She tells him: “I’m so nervous”.
But he assures her: “So am I, I’ve got no idea, I don’t even know where to start.”
Speaking about one of the lads, Jessie says: “He’s like one of my best friends in here”.
Aaron replies: “I know, I actually like all of the guys, but you can’t think like that.”
Jessie says: “OK, let’s break this down” as Aaron finally asks her: “What’s your decision?”

Jamie Oliver to tackle cost of living crisis with new series

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Oliver will tackle the cost of living crisis with a new series of ‘Jamie’s £1 Wonders’.
The celebrity chef will be back on screens whipping up delicious dishes from budget recipes, and offering money-saving cooking tips in a new season of the programme.
Jamie, 47, can’t wait to cook up a storm following the success of the one-off episode, which aired in October last year.
The six-part series will see Jamie plate up cheap meals that cost less than a pound per portion.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Jamie is really excited by the upcoming series.
“He’ll be venturing outside of the UK, as well as domestically, travelling to countries including Sri Lanka, Cyprus, Italy and India for ideas on cost-saving food.
“Guest cooks will be invited in too, so it will be a real collaboration.”
Jamie has fond memories of being raised in a pub in Esssex during his younger years, and admitted last month it was “an honour”, especially over the festive period.
He said: “It was full of festivities – decorations everywhere – very jolly, very loud.
“It was a gift, an honour, to live in a pub. On Christmas Day we’d be up early to do all the pressies, but we’d be open for business from 10am.
“All the locals were like extended aunts and uncles – I was brought up by 30 women.”
Jamie believes he ended up with a talent for cooking because he practiced so much.
He said: “I was good at cooking – not because I was born to do it or a genius but because I just did it again and again.
“I had a terrible time academically at school but I loved working at the weekend – learning to graft, learning to be tired, learning to earn a pound.”

Laura Whitmore: My potty-mouthed role is fun

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Whitmore relished appearing in husband Iain Stirling’s comedy as a potty-mouthed character.
The former ‘Love Island’ star will take on the role of Vic in ITV2’s comedy ‘Buffering’, which will return for a second series on Monday 30 January.
Laura – who recently starred as Jenny in play ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’ – admits playing the feisty, foul-mouthed TV exec was a release.
She said: “When you do live television as a host you can’t say any naughty words.
“Even though I’ve done late-night television, other people can say them but I can’t.
“In the play I’ve just done in the West End my character Jenny swears quite a lot and Vic does too. So maybe that’s a new turn.
“My mother tells me I swear quite a lot in real life and also I do a podcast, ‘Partners in Crime’, where apparently I swear too much!
“When you’re playing a character you have to do what the script says, but it’s fun to play the antagonist.”
Laura is an advocate for mixing business with pleasure, and admits acting with her husband is a “joy”, even if their characters don’t always see eye to eye.
She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column as saying: “When you go on set and do roles like that, you have to leave your personal life at the door – it’s the best way to do things.
“Anything you don’t do on set or you do in acting, you have to leave the emotions on set. It was fun and everyone is so good at what they do, it makes it a joy.”

Bill Turnbull’s daughter to run London Marathon in honour of late father

OHMYGOSSIP — Flora Turnbull has paid tribute to the “most wonderful dad” Bill Turnbull, as she prepares to run the London Marathon in his honour.
The former ‘BBC Breakfast’ host passed away in August last year aged 66, after losing his battle with prostate cancer.
Flora, 32, appeared on the breakfast show on Wednesday (25.01.23), on what would’ve been her dad’s birthday, to talk about the huge loss her family has felt.
She said: “Losing dad was such a huge thing for us, and our family obviously.
“I think first of all I wanted to have a purpose this year and to remember dad in the most purposeful way possible, and this felt like I could pay tribute to him in a way that was personal for him as he ran the marathon a few times and also in a way to highlight this cause for Prostate Cancer UK.”
The TV presenter was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017 and previously ran the London Marathon a few times to help raise awareness of the disease.
Flora added that she was proud of her father’s brave efforts in spreading awareness of prostate cancer.
She said: “He was the most wonderful dad, he was everything you would want a father to be.
“He was fun, he as gregarious, he was like he was on television, he was great to be around, he could also be grumpy in the best way possible where we would all tease him and he would tease us.
“He was the real light of our lives and he was the centre of our family so losing him has been a huge loss for us, but equally I feel so incredibly lucky to have him as a father.”

Elvis returns to cinemas after being nominated for eight Oscars

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Elvis’ is returning to cinemas after being nominated for eight Oscars.
The Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic of Elvis Presley will be shown in select cinemas in the US for one night only on Friday (27.01.23), after it was nominated for multiple Academy Awards, including Best Actor for leading man Austin Butler and Best Picture.
Jeff Goldstein, the Warner Bros. Pictures’ president of domestic distribution, said: “Since its release in June, it has remained clear that Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Elvis’ has real staying power with audiences of all ages, much like Elvis Presley’s own enduring popularity.
“We congratulate Baz, Austin and everyone involved in making ‘Elvis’ on their much-deserved nominations from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
“In light of this exciting news, we felt that fans of the film would appreciate another chance to celebrate this incredible cinematic achievement again by seeing it on the big screen.”
The movie – which is already streaming on HBO Max and took in more than $250 million at the box office – is the second highest grossing music biopic of all time after ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
And after his recognition from the Academy, Austin paid tribute to Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie, who died on January 12, aged 54.
The 31-year-old actor said: “[This role] seemed as though it was this impossible mountain to climb in front of me. There were so many pitfalls and so I just was focusing on one step at a time. And really the thing for me was just honouring the life of this man and his family. And that’s why those moments when Lisa Marie and Priscilla [Presley] got to see the film and then I first saw them after … nothing I would do would ever top that. And especially with Lisa Marie not being here with us. I just wish she was here to celebrate today with us.”

Gladiator 2 delayed by Paul Mescal’s theatre commitments

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Gladiator 2’ has been delayed due to Paul Mescal’s theatre commitments.
The Sir Ridley Scott-directed sequel to the award-winning drama movie has been pushed back, as Paul is committed to playing Stan Kowalski in ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ at London’s Almeida Theatre.
The production has been moved to the West End and is now set to clash with the proposed start date for the much-anticipated film.
As a result, the film production has been pushed back so Paul, 26, can still fulfil his part in the movie, according to Deadline.
Specific details about the film remain a closely-guarded secret. However, it has been confirmed that Paul will take on the role of Lucius, the son of Connie Nielsen’s character Lucilla and the nephew of Joaquin Phoenix’s Commodus from the first film.
Russell Crowe has ruled out returning as Maximus in the new movie, and he also explained that it won’t be a “direct sequel”.
The 58-year actor – who played the central character in the historical drama film – said: “Yeah we’ve had dinner and talked about it and all that stuff. So I know roughly how he’s shaping the story.
“But yeah, if you remember, there was a young kid who wanted to beat the Gladiator, which leads to the ‘My name is’ speech. So that young kid has grown up, and he’s now the Emperor.
“I don’t know what else happens at that point, so that’s the idea. So it’s not a remake. And it’s not a direct sequel. It’s not like the day after, you know, 30 years later or something.”

Two bombshells enter ‘Love Island’ after Haris Namani and Anna-May Robey are dumped from villa

OHMYGOSSIP — Two bombshells entered the ‘Love Island’ villa after Haris Namani and Anna-May Robey were dumped from the show.
The cast were gathered around the fire pit on Wednesday (25.01.23) night’s episode of the show when they were told Spencer Wilks and Ellie Spence were joining the contestants.
It means the boys will have to decide whether to recouple with their current partner, or take a risk on the new girl.
TV salesman and amateur boxer Haris, 21, and payroll administrator Anna-May, 20, got the boot after viewers were asked to vote for their favourite boy and girl, with the bottom three of each then lined up at the firepit.
In a twist, the show’s newest arrivals Jessie Wynter, 26, and Aaron Waters, 25, decided who got dumped and picked Haris and Anna-May – insisting their decision was based on who had the most potential to succeed as couples.
The Sun had revealed footage of Haris in a street brawl, but a source told the newspaper his eviction was filmed before it emerged.
An insider told the publication: “It is, in part, a relief for the show’s bosses in light of the video of Haris in a street fight.”
Haris has said about the tape: “I’m devastated that this video has been seen – it’s not a reflection of my character.
“I’m not someone that goes looking for fights and I didn’t want to be in that situation. This was a heat of the moment thing.
“The video doesn’t show everything that happened. Afterwards we met up and we cleared the air; we’ve shaken hands and we get along now.
“It’s not something that would happen again.”
Bombshell Spencer, 24, is an “E-Commerce business owner” from Bournemouth.
He said his claim to fame is that his cousin “won the ultimate fighter, the UFC, back in the day”, adding: “He did a documentary, ‘The Game Changers’, on Netflix.”
Spencer added in a chat before he went into the villa he wants Leonardo DiCaprio to play him in a film of his life and he thinks he is “fun”, “cool” and “just all round husband material”.
Norwich native Ellie, a 25-year-old “business development executive at a law firm” says she has “about 500” bad date stories and has been single for around three years.
She claims one of her secrets is she almost lost her leg in a drunken accident climbing over the gates of a friend’s house and thinks she is a “little bit of a liability, but in a good way”.
‘Love Island’ continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX and can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey couldn’t include Tigger

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ isn’t allowed to include Tigger.
A.A. Milne’s beloved characters are being given a horror twist in the upcoming slasher helmed by Rhys Fake-Waterfield after the characters entered the public domain and became open to interpretation on the big screen.
However, the filmmaker told SFX Magazine: “Tigger, for example, isn’t in the public domain. So he wasn’t allowed to be used in the story.”
Tigger’s first appearance was in 1928 children’s book ‘The House At Pooh Corner’, which hasn’t yet entered public domain.
When it came to crafting the story and choosing which characters they could use, the director was keen to create something “distinct”.
He explained: “When we were coming up with this, we knew that we would have to be really careful about what elements we used.
“We couldn’t be influenced by the Disney version at all, so I consciously didn’t watch anything by them.
“I went through the book and I purposefully tried to make our Pooh and Piglet as distinct as I could.”
Meanwhile, Frank-Waterfield is also looking to make two movies giving a darker twist to ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Bambi’.
The movie will follow Winnie as he loses his love for honey and instead craves human flesh.
He and Piglet are struggling after Christopher Robin leaves for college, and they have to take care of themselves by going to sinister lengths.
The film will see Craig David Dowsett and Chris Cordell as Winnie and Piglet respectively, while the cast also includes Nikolai Leon, Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor, Danielle Ronald, Natasha Tosini, and May Kelly.
The controversial movie is set to hit the big screen on February 15, 2023.

Bruno Tonioli ‘has already been told off’ on Britain’s Got Talent panel

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Tonioli was reportedly “told off” after his first day of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ auditions.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge has swapped the ballroom competition for Simon Cowell’s ITV talent show and has replaced David Walliams on the panel alongside Simon, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.
As reported by The Sun, Alesha, 44, had to tell Bruno to sit down during the show and even pushed him back into his seat.
It won’t come as any surprise to ‘Strictly’ viewers, with the 67-year-old star well known for his over the top nature.
It’s said Alesha and Amanda also warned him about being too critical of the hopefuls in the auditions.
He also hit his golden buzz before an act had even finished their performance, while the report adds that Simon, 63, pressed his own buzzer after some convincing from Bruno.
Bruno told the audience: “I’ve had so much fun, I’ve already been told off. I’m loving it!”
He added: “Thank you very much. I am thrilled to be here.”
Earlier this week, he was confirmed to be part of the panel folowing’ David’s departure.

Ross Kemp returning to acting

OHMYGOSSIP — Ross Kemp is returning to acting for the first time in seven years.
The 58-year-old actor is best known for playing EastEnders’ Grant Mitchell – who he last portrayed in 2016 – but the hardman character may not be too impressed to discover Ross has landed a new role as a police officer.
He will appear in Channel 5 drama ‘Blindspot’ as Police Detective Tony Warden, and he was “more nervous” that when he made his Albert Square debut.
Ross said: “My first day on set [at ‘Blindspot’] was Saturday evening and I was just as nervous as I was, in fact more nervous, than when I first walked on to the set of ‘EastEnders’ in 1989.
“I was extremely nervous and didn’t sleep very much the night before.
“I was 24/25 then, I was confident and cocky and now I’m a wiser and older man.
“I was extremely nervous and didn’t sleep very much the night before.”
Ross admits his new role is “quite a leap” in his acting career.
He added to The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “It is a wonderful cast but working with actors again has been quite a leap for me and I know I’m a very lucky man.
“For me going back to acting is so important.
“It is the first time in 15 years apart from going back to ‘EastEnders’ for Barbara leaving.”
Ross briefly returned to ‘EastEnders’ in 2016, in scenes to coincide with Dame Barbara Windsor’s exit as Peggy Mitchell, the mother of his character Grant.
The star initially played Grant from 1990 to 1999, before returning again in 2005 and in 2006, and then in 2016.
In ‘Blindspot’, newcomer Beth Alsbury will play disabled woman Hannah who thinks she has seen the prelude to a murder while looking into CCTV on a rough estate.

Alexander Skarsgard had difficulty casting for The Pack

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexander Skarsgard found the casting process difficult for his movie ‘The Pack’.
The 46-year-old star is starring and directing in a film for the first time in his career and has been taken aback by the difficulties of filling out cast members for the thriller.
Alexander told Collider: “It’s been interesting being on this side of the casting process. I’ve learned a lot.
“Sometimes it’s quite disheartening in terms of people’s value, and some of those conversations are a bit – with financiers and everything, it’s like when you start to understand that model of foreign territories.
“So if someone’s value and someone you think is amazing and you think would mean a lot for financing doesn’t, and then someone, the opposite, means a lot and you don’t get why.
“So it is that, like Brandon (Cronenberg) said, I think you’re gonna have to make a lot of compromises, but you’ve got to choose your battles.”
The ‘True Blood’ actor will be reunited with his ‘The Little Drummer Girl’ co-star Florence Pugh on the new survivalist flick and he sees the project as an opportunity to try something new.
Alexander said: “When it comes to casting, obviously, it’s crucial for me to do it with the actors I want to work with and find that chemistry and that group, otherwise, it’s not worth it for me.
“I’m pretty content being ‘just an actor’, so it’s not that I feel like I have to segue into directing. I was high on painkillers and had hubris and thought I could direct this for a second, and maybe that was a mistake, but we’ll see.”
