Love Island’s Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown threatens to reveal Tom’s secret to Olivia

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown has threatened to tell Olivia Hawkins that Tom Clare has been unfaithful to her on ‘Love Island’.
The 25-year-old-model is currently taking part in the ITV2 reality dating show along with actress Olivia – who is coupled up with footballer Tom – and after finding out that he had kissed bombshell arrival Ellie Spence on Monday’s (30.01.23) episode, threatened to reveal all when Tanya Manhenga spilled the beans.
Tanya told Zara: ” I need you to promise me you won’t open your mouth about this one because when this one comes out, it needs to come out with the right one. But I need to let it out to the right person because I can’t keep it in. Will called me upstairs, and he goes ‘I need advice because there’s something I know.’ This boy sat there and said that Ellie confided in Will. He said ‘Ellie kissed Will!’ On the f****** terrace and no one knows. What a little player! It gets worse, it gets worse. After that kiss, Tom came down and said ‘Nothing happened. She is flirty, though.’ He’s dangling Ellie. Ellie is into Tom. I was like to Will, ‘You need to tell Ellie to tell Olivia .”
After hearing the news, Zara declared: “If not, I’m gonna tell Liv and I’m gonna tell Ellie” as Tanya pleaded: “No! I told you because I couldn’t keep it in!”
As the episode drew to a close, scenes from Tuesday’s episode, Zara can be seen saying: “Olivia, we need to talk to you, right now!”

Vicky Pattison, Rita Simons and Shane Lynch set for ‘Pilgrimage: The Road through Portugal’

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky Pattison, Rita Simons, and Shane Lynch will take part in the next series of ‘Pilgrimage’.
The trio will be joined on the three-part ‘Pilgrimage: The Road through Portugal’ by Su Pollard, Bobby Seagull, Nabil Abdulrashid, and Millie Knight, with the group, who have different faiths and beliefs, embarking on a personal journey along the northern route of the Fatima Way.
For the first time ever, the group are on a deadline as they need to arrive at the Sanctuary in the city of Fatima – where three local children experienced apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917 – in time for a major celebration, which ends with a candlelit vigil attended by almost 70,000 pilgrims from around the world.
As they travel 364km in 15 days, the group will take shelter in pilgrim hostels, a basic campsite and even a working fire station, while they will visit various places on the way, including Bom Jesus do Monte, and a closed order of nuns, as well as sampling other faiths.
Agnostic Vicky is looking forward to learning about different faiths.
She said: “I’ve never used the word pilgrimage in my life. I don’t think I know what this means but as you get older, your life becomes smaller and that’s okay, but you can quickly become stagnant, and I don’t want to be stagnant.
“I want to constantly be growing and evolving and becoming better. I think by challenging myself and by getting out of my comfort zone, that’s when I can broaden my horizons.
“I know there’ll be some differing viewpoints, some faiths I’m not familiar with, some opinions that are probably different to mine, but I think the key to us all getting along is just understanding.”
Boyzone singer Shane is seeking “clarity” in his life.
He said: “I am a Pentecostal Born Again Christian. My relationship with God is very tight and I love it.
“The reason why I’m taking on this pilgrimage is just to find a bit of clarity in my life. I want to put myself into a position that I’ve never experienced before and hopefully find out some amazing and emotional things, so this pilgrimage for me is all about the knowledge I can gather, and about my God. This will be big walk for sure, for many reasons.”
And former ‘EastEnders’ star Rita hopes to learn more about her own Jewish heritage.
She admitted: “I’m not entirely sure how comfortable I am about revealing to the Jewish community how little I practice the religion. I do think it’s very important to know who you are, regardless of how people may judge you and I am comfortable at 45 with who I am.”
Of the other contestants, ‘Hi-De-Hi’ veteran Su was raised Church of England, while Paralympian skier Millie is a non-practising member of the same church. Maths whizz Bobby is a practising Catholic, and comedian Nabil is a practising Muslim.
The three-part series will air on BBC2 this spring.

Love Island villa ‘rocked by sickness bug’

OHMYGOSSIP — A sickness bug is wreaking havoc in the ‘Love Island’ villa.
While the singletons are hoping to be struck by the love bug in the South African villa, some are said to have been hit with a stomach bug instead, resulting in them needing to “dash off to use the loo”.
A source said: “‘Love Island’ might look very sexy on the television but behind the scenes there has been a bug going around.
“As well as rushing to the Beach Hut for a chat, the islanders have also been dashing off to use the loo.”
As well as some of the Islanders, members of the production team are also said to have been hit by sickness.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: “It has been pretty rough for some of them. Some of the production team have also been affected by the sickness bug.
“It has torn its way through the set and the aftermath has been less than appealing.
“Despite this, the cast have still been going all out to impress their partners.
“The bug has certainly given all the islanders a dose of reality.”
It’s not known which Islanders have been hit by the bug.
But prior to entering the villa, hair stylist Tanyel Revan, 26, admitted she was concerned about vomiting on the ITV2 dating show due to a “weird phobia” of things touching her.
She explained: “I have this weird phobia of certain things touching me, like if it’s something creamy or weird I actually feel like I want to throw up.
“Certain things can’t touch me and I can’t share drinks. I don’t like anything milky – if milk touched my skin it would make me feel so sick. I hate it!”
‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX and can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Luke Hemsworth to star in Gunner

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Hemsworth is to star in new action film ‘Gunner’.
The ‘Westworld’ actor will portray Special Forces veteran Lee Gunner, in the upcoming movie from ‘Kickboxer: Retaliation’ director Dimitri Logothetis, who will be working on a script penned by ‘The Fast and the Furious’ writer Gary Scott Thompson.
The film follows Lee as he sets out to get his sons back safely after they are kidnapped by drug runners when they stumble across a fentanyl lab on a camping trip, and sees him go up against the FBI and local police, as well as the criminal gang as he vows to stop at nothing to rescue his boys.
Joel Shapiro will produce alongside Logothetis, magiCity Studios and Acme Rocket Fuel.
Luke has had a busy few months as in September, he joined his younger brother Liam Hemsworth, as well as Russell Crowe and Milo Ventimiglia in shooting ‘Land of Bad’ in his native Australia, and recently wrapped production on thriller ‘Bad Hombres’ with Thomas Jane and Tyrese Gibson.
Last summer, the ‘Crypto’ actor returned for a cameo in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ alongside his brother Chris Hemsworth in the lead role, having first played Actor Thor in 2017’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
But the 42-year-old star has admitted he would love to follow Hugh Jackman in playing Wolverine.
He said of the possibility of joining the MCU: “I would love to. I grew up with them.
“I learned to draw through comic books, copying comic books since I was about 10 years old.
“Spawn was a big one. I really loved Todd McFarlane’s Spawn. And then Batman – I would have fought Rob Pattinson for those gauntlets. And Wolverine!
“I’m like, ‘Come on, just pass them on, mate. Let’s give it to another Aussie.’
“I’ll have to grow some chest hair, but I’m ready for Wolverine.”

Dave Bautista won’t play Bane in DC reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista won’t be playing Bane in the DC universe.
The 54-year-old actor has previously admitted his desire to take on the role, and fans thought the opportunity could well arise after Bautista’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ director James Gunn took charge of DC Studios – alongside Peter Safran – but the star insists Bane should be portrayed by a “younger and fresher” actor.
He said: “I have had conversations with James about that but I think the direction he’s leaning in, completely rebooting that whole universe, he’s starting from scratch and starting younger and fresher and I think you need to do that.”
Bautista insists he “understands” the need for a younger face to portray the character, and doesn’t believe he would “bring justice” to the role at this point in his career.
He added to Insider: “I think for the DC Universe to be revived, you need to start from scratch, and I think you need to start with younger actors.
“You need to start to plan for the next 15 years, and I just don’t think you can do that with me. And I understand that. And, also, I have to say that I appreciate that because I don’t want to play a character that I can’t bring justice to it.
“I don’t think at this point in my career that I can bring justice to Bane anymore. I just don’t know if I could handle the physical part, and I don’t think I would have the longevity to plan ahead for films. So, I just don’t know if I’d be that guy.”
Earlier this month, Bautista admitted it was a “relief” when he said goodbye to his ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ character Drax the Destroyer.
He is best known in the acting world for playing Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the 2014 movie, but he insists it “wasn’t all pleasant” portraying the comic book character.
He said: “I’m so grateful for Drax. I love him. But there’s a relief [that it’s over]. It wasn’t all pleasant. It was hard playing that role. The makeup process was beating me down.”
Bautista – who has since gone on to appear in the likes of James Bond film ‘Spectre’, and sci-fi movie ‘Dune’ – insisted it was a “silly performance” and he is keen to do “more dramatic stuff”.
He said: “And I just don’t know if I want Drax to be my legacy – it’s a silly performance, and I want to do more dramatic stuff.”

Lauren Goodger couldn’t eat due to grief of losing newborn daughter Lorena

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Goodger lost 42 pounds in the wake of the tragic death of her baby newborn daughter.
The former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star’s baby daughter Lorena was born in July 2022 with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and lost her life.
The birthing tragedy came after Lauren’s ex-partner Jake McLean was killed in a car crash in Turkey, then in a matter of weeks
Lauren and boyfriend Charles Drury, who had been dating since October 2020, then separated following his arrest after an alleged assault at her Essex home on the night of their daughter’s funeral.
The harrowing grief Lauren experienced following Lorena’s death meant she was unable to eat, but she has put on a stone as her mental health has improved.
Speaking to OK!, she said: “I lost nearly three stone after I lost Lorena because of the stress. I didn’t eat. I’m now eating again and I’ve put a stone back on because I’m being more healthy.
“I stayed indoors and I didn’t go out, and now I feel I’m in a better place mentally. This year is about focusing on me and getting back on track.”
The 36-year-old TV personality admits that her 18-month-old daughter Larose – who she has with Charles – has been a “rock” for her and without she wouldn’t have been able to have survived Lorena’s death.
She said: “She’s the best. She’s the cheekiest little girl you will come across.
“She’s already an intelligent and independent woman. She makes me so proud every single day. She’s unbelievable. She’s my rock.
“After everything I went through, Larose is definitely my inspiration. She inspires me and she’s kept me going through the hardest times. Without her, I wouldn’t survive.”

Scarlett Moffatt was a peeping tom who spied on neighbours

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt used to be a “pepping tom”.
The former ‘Googlebox’ star – who became famous by sitting at home and staring at the television – was a young voyeur and was once caught spying on her neighbours with a telescope.
Speaking on her podcast ‘Scarlett Moffatt Wants To Believe’, she said: “As a kid I once asked for, believe it or not, a telescope for Christmas.
“I actually got in trouble once off me mam. I’m going to sound like a weirdo here. But with my telescope you could look into people’s houses and the street that backed on to mine. I used to watch people have their tea and I got in trouble because me dad was like, ‘You can get arrested for that.’ And I was like, ‘I’m only nine – I just want to see what they’re having for tea.”
The 32-year-old TV presenter was caught by her parents after they found her “little notebook” where she made “observations about what people were having for tea and apparently that’s a felony”.
Police officer and fiancé Scott Dobinson replied: “In America yeah, but we’re not in America – It’s a crime here, Scarlett ‘Peeping Tom’ Moffatt.”
On the podcast, Scarlett also revealed how her dream appearance on the ‘Antiques Road Trip’ was ruined by a bout of diarrhoea thanks to a pickled egg and onion bhaji lunch.
Scarlett – who appeared on the BBC programme back in 2021 – revealed: “I love museums and I history, so when I was asked to do ‘Antiques Road Trip’, I got really excited.
“I’d also had a pickled egg and an onion bhaji for my lunch which, in hindsight, isn’t a good mix. I was in this antiques shop filming and I bent over to look at a plate and I thought, ‘I’m going to s*** myself.’”

Anne Hathaway still hopes for Sesame Street film

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway still wants to make the ‘Sesame Street’ movie.
The 40-year-old star has been attached to the highly-anticipated film based on the iconic children’s TV series for a number of years but the project is yet to materialise, although Anne is still optimistic that it will reach the big screen.
Speaking to Collider at the Sundance Film Festival, she said: “It hasn’t happened yet. I hope it does.
“I don’t really make movies that I don’t love. Even if it’s a strange love. Even if it’s a love that doesn’t make sense to other people and even by the way of the final product isn’t in any way what I thought it was going to be.
“If it doesn’t spark something, I don’t think I can do it. And so when you read something, and you’re genuinely charmed or delighted or it brings you joy or it’s something you want to share with others, it’s really hard to step away from things like that move you authentically.”
Anne explained that a long wait to make a film can make the final product even more rewarding.
The ‘Les Miserables’ actress said: “Movies take 20 years to get made and there is something really, really satisfying about sticking with certain things. And there is something really great about looking out and saying, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t believe for like eight years I was the only person who understood this’, and all those people who had my back believed in me.
“It doesn’t always work out. Sometimes eight years later, you’re just like, ‘I think it’s time to call it.’ It’s a mixed thing, and I’m really lucky that so far I’ve been able to have a career in this industry, so I’ve had all sorts of different experiences.”

M. Night Shyamalan wishes he had created the concept for ‘Knock At the Cabin’.

OHMYGOSSIP — M. Night Shyamalan wishes he “had come up” with the concept for ‘Knock At the Cabin’.
The ‘Old’ director has helmed the movie adaption of ‘The Cabin At the End of the World’- which stars Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff and Rupert Grint – but is such a fan of Paul Tremblay’s book because of how “it speaks” to all his favourite cinematic themes.
The plot follows a family of three who are taken hostage by four strangers while holidaying at a remote cabin with the demand to sacrifice one of their own to prevent the apocalypse.
The 52-year-old filmmaker told SFX magazine: “I wish I had come up with this idea.
“It was like a lightning bolt – love at first sight. I read the book and it was the same thing again. It speaks to all the things that ignite me; the moral dilemma with a kind of larger philosophical thing at work, heart-pounding stakes throughout and then the family at the centre. I thought, ‘Actually, maybe I could it do it myself.’ And so that’s how we got here. It was very beautiful and organic.”
Meanwhile, Shyamalan can’t help but devise a remake of the 1980 Stanley Kubrick movie ‘The Shining’ – which starred Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall and Danny Lloyd – in his mind as he reads the book of the same name due to the “cinematic” nature of the story.
He said: “It’s funny, as you and I are speaking, I’m reading ‘The Shining’, Stephen King’s book, just for fun, and it’s so cinematic. I can’t stand it! Stephen is so good at evoking cinematic moments, so good at character moments… I’m making the movie in my head, even though Kubrick’s is one of my favourite movies. It’s a part of my brain that just immediately starts working.”

Lydia Bright is always inspired by her parents’ ‘selfless’ fostering

OHMYGOSSIP — Lydia Bright says her parents are the “most inspirational people” in her life because they have dedicated their lives to fostering children.
‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star’s mum and dad, Debbie and Dave, have been opening up their home to kids in need for decades and Lydia strives to be as selfless as them in her own life, especially when it comes to raising her three-year-old daughter Loretta.
She said: “The most inspirational people in my life and in my world are my parents because they have dedicated 30 years of their life to helping children and helping families and they’re just very selfless in their ways and they are just amazing all-round people. We’ve just got an amazing family, a great group of friends, they’re just incredible people so I just always try to mirror my life slightly on them and try and do them proud.”
Lydia also revealed that Loretta – whose dad is Lee Cronin – shares many personality traits with her family and is a real “extrovert”.
She added: “Loretta is very much like my family – all my family are extremely loud, I mean surprisingly because as you can tell I’m not like a shy and retiring type, but I’m actually probably the quietest member in my family and Loretta is right up there with like the top three – she is so loud! She’s such an extrovert too, she loves being around people, she’s so sociable and I love that about her as I’ll never have to really worry, I know that she’ll always fit in. I love her for who she is, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
Lydia took some time out of her busy schedule to spend some quality family time with her daughter and sister Georgia last weekend as they visited Disneyland Paris to enjoy the incredible range of attractions and entertainment on offer as the destination kicked off its Grand Finale of its 30th Anniversary, running until 30th September 2023.
Having first visited Disneyland Paris with her parents when she was aged eight, Lydia, 32, was keen for three-year-old Loretta to follow in her footsteps and to have her first experience of Disney Parks magic. Mother and daughter enjoyed fun meet-and-greets with the Disney were among the first visitors to experience the epic new night-time drone show ‘Avengers: Power the Night’. Dedicated to the Marvel Super Heroes, the show combines music, lights, pyrotechnic effects, video projections and up to 500 drones that form an awe-inspiring series of icons representing the powers of iconic Super Heroes, including Captain America, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch and for the first time at Disneyland Paris, Shang-Chi.
Reflecting on the visit, Lydia shared: “Me and my sister said that as soon as you walk into Disneyland Paris it’s almost like you feel like you’re floating, it’s so happy, it’s so magical, and I just think sometimes you need that, you need to just escape from the everyday and be your inner child again. It’s just nice to re-live our childhood sometimes isn’t it, so yes, I love it, I’m feeling very magical right now.
“My earliest memory of Disneyland Paris was when I was about eight and we came for a family holiday, and we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. And at eight I was Disney Princess-mad, and I honestly just felt like Cinderella, it was just so beautiful, so picturesque, so magical – so for me I just felt like I was in a dream at that age. So to come again now with my daughter Loretta and show her the magic is even better as I get to relive my childhood all over again through her eyes, which I think is really special. With every month that passes Loretta learns more words and makes me laugh even more, she’s just like growing up into my little best friend which is amazing because I get to do life with my best friend.”

Doctor Who legend Nicola Bryant tells new companion Millie Gibson to have ‘fun’

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Doctor Who’ star Nicola Bryant has urged new companion Millie Gibson to have as much “fun” as she can on the show.
The 18-year-old former ‘Coronation Street’ actress will play Ruby Sunday alongside Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor, in Russell T Davies’ upcoming new series of the BBC One sci-fi show.
Nicola played popular companion Peri Brown from 1984 to 1986 opposite both Fifth Doctor Peter Davison and Sixth Doctor Colin Baker, as well as getting to appear with the returning Second Doctor Patrick Troughton in 1985 adventure ‘The Two Doctors’.
The 62-year-old actress is immensely proud of her time on the programme and has urged Millie to enjoy every moment of her time in the TARDIS with Ncuti, 30.
When asked if she had any advice for Millie, she said: “Have fun. Just have fun. I’m sure Millie’s going to be brilliant. She’s going to have a fabulous time. And I love her outfit. I look forward to seeing her and Ncuti.”
Before Ncuti and Millie start to travel in space and time together, Russell has brought back David Tennant and Catherine Tate as the Doctor and his former companion Donna Noble for three specials in 2023 to mark Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary.
David previously played the Tenth Doctor, but is back in mysterious circumstances as the Fourteenth Doctor and Nicola is as intrigued as all the show’s fans to find out how this regeneration has happened.
Speaking to the new issue of SFX magazine, she said: “I think it’s brilliant, very clever. I’m wondering how Russell is doing this. What’s the plot, the story? We’re all intrigued, aren’t we? We want to know what’s happened to the Doctor.”
When Nicola looks back on her time on the show she feels very lucky to have got to play Peri opposite three different incarnations of the Gallifreyan Time Lord.
She added: “It was the most important three years. I feel so blessed to have gone through two Doctors. I had a regeneration and I got to work with Pat Troughton. I feel like, in terms of the lucky dip, I did well.”

Davina McCall to host middle-aged dating show Romantic Retreat

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall is set to front a new dating show for middle-aged singletons.
The 55-year-old TV star has reportedly been signed up to host upcoming ITV programme ‘Romantic Retreat’ – which has been described as ‘Love Island’ for older people – after pitching the idea to TV bosses.
A TV source told the Daily Star newspaper: “Davina is the perfect fit, she is a bubbly, fun and has also endured her own relationship problems.
“Until she met her boyfriend she was a single mother too.”
The ex-‘Big Brother’ presenter has been an unofficial spokesperson for older people and a powerful advocate for women going through menopause.
She previously outlined her proposal of a middle-aged spin-off whilst speaking on Steven Bartlett’s podcast.
She said: “I could fill a villa in ‘Love Island’ with middle-aged people with the best backstories you have ever heard in your life.
“They’ve lived a life – they’re widows, they’re people who have been through horrific divorces. They are people who have split up with somebody and decided they want to try going out with somebody the same sex as them. They’re like interesting people. I’d watch that show.”
A casting call recently appeared on ITV’s website for “vibrant single parents looking for love” to get in touch.
It read: “ITV1 are looking for vibrant single parents from across the UK who are in search of love, for a brand new dating show!
“This is the ONLY dating show where single parents can search for love, by spending time in a luxury retreat, where all the parents have been nominated by their grown up children.”
Former ‘Gladiators’ host Ulrika Johnson threw her hat in the ring for the presenter gig claiming she’d be a perfect fit as she has a “greater zest for life now” compared to when she was in her 20s.
Making a bid on ‘Good Morning Britain’, Ulrika, 55, said: “If you’re hosting that programme, you should have a wealth of experience in modern day dating which is very different than them olden days where you see and meet people in the pub.
“Yes, being single should be a pre-requisite. Just because you’ve over 50 doesn’t mean you’ve given up in life and you don’t want new adventures.
“I have a greater zest for life now than I probably did in my 20s and 30s.”

Carol Vorderman: My bountiful bum is a family affair

OHMYGOSSIP — Carol Vorderman says her “huge bum” and curves run in her family.
The former ‘Countdown’ star is a two-time winner of the Rear of the Year award, taking home the trophy in 2011 and 2014 thanks to her shapely butt.
Carol has scoffed at suggestion she has had surgical help to get such a bountiful bum and insists her delectable derriere is down to genetics.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: “Rear of the Year is a funny one because I’ve always had this huge butt. Always. All my life!
“My whole family does. It’s a thing. It’s called the Vorderman bottom, it was always like, ‘Ooh, there’s another Vorderman bottom!
“My brother’s got one, my nephews, my son, we’ve all got it!”
The media personality was both “both surprised and flattered to win the award” twice.
She added: “As I said when I won it in 2011, I always suspected there were a lot of people out there who were glad to see the back of me. It now appears there were even more than I thought.”
The ‘This Morning’ star also revealed the secrets of her age defying looks and insists focusing on living a healthy lifestyle has huge benefits for her appearance.
She said: “I brought out my first detox book which was slammed at the time, but almost 100% of everything I recommended is now categoric.
“I have followed my own advice. Now there’s an awful lot of technology to do with health and when you concentrate on health you get other benefits too, like people saying, ‘Oh, don’t you look good.'”
The 62-year-old presenter previously spoke about her love life revealing she’s having the best time dating multiple men.
Whilst appearing on Michelle Visage’s ‘Rule Breakers’ podcast, she said: “I’m having the best time.
“I’ve spoken about this once. I have a system which I’ve had for 10 years. They’re called ‘special friends’.
“I spoke a couple of months ago about having ‘special friends’ and it was like, again, the world had fallen in for some people but actually what I found was there was an awful lot of women who said ‘I’d never thought about it like this’.”

Jordan Peele ‘glad’ to have snubbed Akira remake

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordan Peele is “glad” that he didn’t direct the ‘Akira’ remake.
The 43-year-old filmmaker was approached by Warner Bros. to direct a live-action remake of Katsuhiro Otomo’s 1988 anime but admits that he ultimately declined the offer as he felt he would struggle to faithfully recreate the story.
Jordan told the Happy Sad Confused podcast: “It’s a project I’m so passionate about. I’m glad I didn’t do it because I feel like… staying away from that, trying to interpret that IP just set me on the path to create something new.
“But I want to see Neo-Tokyo. I want to see an all-Japanese cast. I want to feel immersed in the world, the way of the films in the manga.”
The ‘Get Out’ director has made similar comments about the project in the past and stressed that his desire to make original film and TV projects outweighs his passion for anime.
Speaking in 2017, Jordan said: “I think (I could do it) if the story justifies it. ‘Akira’ is one of my favourite movies, and I think obviously the story justifies as big a budget as you can possibly dream of.
“But the real question for me is: Do I want to do pre-existing material, or do I want to do original content? At the end of the day, I want to do original stuff.”
Jordan previously revealed that he wants to pay homage to ‘Akira’ in his recent film ‘Nope’ by recreating the famous downward slow-motion slide shot from the anime, which the director claims introduced him to a world of animation.
He said: “It was an expensive VHS. Straight up, like, $25 or $30. Coming from being raised to think that Disney is synonymous with animation, I was suddenly introduced to this entire world, where animation is also adult. There are so many things that you’re experiencing throughout that film like cyberpunk dystopia, with the inventiveness of the biker culture that is enough to populate whole seasons of television, and then this huge, horrific take on superpower.”

D’Arcy Carden wants more action roles

OHMYGOSSIP — D’Arcy Carden would welcome more action roles.
The 43-year-old actress features alongside Jennifer Lopez in the new film ‘Shotgun Wedding’ and wants to do more stunts after wielding a shotgun and hanging out of a helicopter for the action-comedy film.
D’Arcy told IndieWire: “I would welcome that era (of action stardom). I really love doing action stuff and I love doing stunt work. I played a lot of sports growing up. I need to go to therapy because I want to impress my dad, but there is something where I’m like, ‘I’ll be the best little stunt person I can be!'”
The comic added: “There was an episode of ‘The Good Place’ where I got to do a 10-minute fight scene and I worked with this amazing stuntman, a legendary stunt guy named Jeff Amato, and that was my first real dive into stunts where I was like, ‘I love this.’
“And then we got to do a ton of stunts on ‘A League of Their Own’, working with this amazing stunt team. The more, the better. I would be very, very thrilled to do more of that. Marvel, I’m waiting!”
Carden plays the role of Harriet in the movie and reflected on how her character two-times Robert Rivera (Cheech Marin) with Sean Hawkins (Lenny Kravitz).
She said: “It’s been really fun to be able to tell friends and family I’m playing Cheech’s girlfriend but I’m having an affair with Lenny Kravitz. They’re like, ‘WHAT?!’
“Oh, and I’m kind of J.Lo’s stepmom. Like, what is this life? How did that happen? It was really fun and both of these guys are amazing.”
