Matt Hancock: I received more votes on I’m A Celebrity than I ever did in Parliament

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Hancock received more votes on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ than he ever did in Parliament.
The former Health Secretary finished third on the ITV series last year, and subsequently announced he was standing down as an MP, but Matt – who was reportedly paid £400,000 for his jungle stint – has insisted money wasn’t the “primary consideration” for appearing on the programme.
Speaking to Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he said: “I knew they [the public] were going to vote for me over and over again and then they stopped voting for me to go on the trials, and they voted for me to stay in.
“I’ve had more votes on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ than I ever got as a politician in Parliament.
“The money wasn’t the primary consideration. Obviously, you are paid a fee for these things and if you’re an MP you declare that.
“ITV asked me to come on and offered me a fee as part of that. My primary reason to come on was to communicate with people about who I am as a person. Because you find that as a politician at a particularly difficult time… the way that you’re in the media is very sort of, ‘Why did you get this wrong?’ … but it does mean that one part of your personality comes over.
“Oddly, you have to go all the way to Australia to be able to show who you are as a person.”
When asked if he negotiated his fee for his appearance on ‘I’m A Celebrity’, he said: “Absolutely. Of course there was a negotiation and discussion over the fee, there always is.
“The primary reason [for going on the show] is because over the pandemic I ended up a very public figure and I felt what the public knew about me was through a particular lens, not coming on this programme and Piers Morgan shouting a monologue at me for twenty minutes.”
During ‘I’m A Celebrity’, Matt – who quit as Health Secretary after he came under fire when he was caught kissing his former aide, and now-girlfriend, Gina Coladangelo, during the COVID pandemic, breaking his own social distancing guidance in the process – was widely criticised for leaving his West Suffolk constituents to take part in the ITV show.
He insists that from his ‘I’m A Celebrity’ fee he has given two five-figure sums to charity.
Matt said: “I did absolutely give some of the money to charities. I didn’t primarily do it for the money. I gave a five-figure sum to two charities.
“I’m really proud of the money I raised for charity. It’s good giving money to charity… and the money I’ve given to charity is more than my MP salary.”
Matt also revealed “all of the royalties” from his book, ‘Pandemic Diaries’, are going to NHS charities, and he now plans to make more documentaries, but insisted he won’t be applying to be a ‘GMB’ presenter.
He added: “I’m not going to stand as an MP again.
“One thing I’d like to do more of is documentaries. I’m not planning on doing anything like that [I’m A Celebrity…] again, that I haven’t already been involved with.
“I have been a politician and I am clearly still in the public eye. I’m going to spend 2023 working out what I want to do… [but] no, I’m not going to be applying for your [Richard] job.”

‘It’s still my dream job’: Jacqueline Jossa wants EastEnders return

OHMYGOSSIP — Jacqueline Jossa wants to return to ‘EastEnders’, admitting it is still her “dream job”.
The 30-year-old actress – who won the 19th series of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2019 – would love to reprise her role as Lauren Branning in the BBC One soap, after heading back to Walford for late character Dot Branning’s funeral last month.
She said: “I won the jungle and have done things like that, but I get people shouting Lauren at me the most out of everything. People still care about her.
“I would 100 per cent put the leather jacket back on and the boots and get going, because it’s the best job in the world, and it’s still my dream job.”
Jacqueline also admitted her brief ‘EastEnders’ return has given her “fire in [her] belly” to pursue more creative opportunities.
Speaking on the ‘Soap From The Box’ podcast, she added: “When I went back recently I was nervous, but I was literally like, ‘I could stay here forever. I love it. This is the best job in the world.’
“I’ve really realised that that’s where I am my happiest and my passion and enjoyment comes from that side of things.
“Since going back to ‘EastEnders’ I’ve had that little fire in my belly again, like there is that part of me that isn’t fulfilled anymore, that creative side.”
Last month, the star admitted she was “quite scared” about her Albert Square return in case she had forgotten how to act.
She said: “I was like, ‘I can’t remember how to act, I don’t know what I’m doing.’
“I was really nervous. I just felt a bit rusty. I didn’t know whether people were going to see me as Lauren again.
“But then I walked in and saw people like Scott Maslen and Natalie Cassidy and people behind the cameras and straight away I was at home. It was the same people all friendly faces. It was genuinely like being back at home.”

Jason Bateman directing The Pinkerton

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Bateman is to direct ‘The Pinkerton’.
The 54-year-old director will helm the supernatural revenge-western movie that was acquired by Warner Bros. and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot company two years ago.
The Pinkertons were a private security guard and detective agency established in the United States by Scotsman Allan Pinkerton in 1850.
He became famous when he claimed to have foiled a plot to assassinate president-elect Abraham Lincoln, who hired Pinkerton agents for his personal security during the American Civil War.
Bateman and Michael Costigan will be executive producers while Bad Robot’s Abrams and Hannah Minghella are producing.
Jason has worked on the hit Netflix series ‘Ozark’, in which he has both directed and starred in as Marty Bryde, and explained how he loves the thrill of being behind the camera.
He said: “The acting part is less interesting for me only because that’s the part that’s obviously most familiar and most comfortable.
“So, it is the camera work that is everything to me. I will do a lot of work on my own to create every image that we end up doing.
“I have everything worked out in my head as far as where the actors will walk, where they sit, where they’ll talk, or where the cameras are going to be – all the images. [I do this so I can] discover the best way for the visuals to amplify – or the opposite, offset – what the scene is about.”
Bateman made his feature directorial debut on the 2013 film ‘Bad Words’ and has also helmed ‘The Family Fang’.

Amanda Holden: I don’t want my daughter anywhere near Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Holden insists she doesn’t want her daughter “anywhere near” ‘Love Island’.
The presenter, 51 – who is mum to daughters Lexi, 17 and Hollie, 11 – has banned her eldest daughter from appearing on the ITV2 dating show, as she claims the programme “isn’t really about love”.
Speaking on her own show, ‘Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden’, Amanda declared: “I don’t want my daughter anywhere near ‘Love Island’.
“It’s just another way of being famous, isn’t it really? It’s not really about love. It’s just about looking hot and just getting involved … but I mean, it’s just amazing telly but it’s not really for love.
“Every now and then it works. Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury … I mean that’s a one-off, that’s a fabulous story.”
Amanda previously revealed her model daughter Lexi was “obsessed” with the series and was worried about her following in the footsteps of Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma Owen, 19, who finished as runner-up on last year’s series.
She said: “So this is becoming a bit of an obsession with my teenage daughter at home now.
“Which worries me slightly bearing in mind that Michael Owen’s daughter is on it, and I’m like, ‘You ain’t ever going on it, Alexa!’ ”
Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay also admitted he felt the same way and refused to watch ‘Love Island’ for fear of seeing one of his children on the show.
The father of five, 56, – who has Tilly, 21, Megan, 24, Holly, 23, Jack, 23, and Oscar, three, with wife Tana, 48 – said he won’t be tuning into the current winter edition, which is set in South Africa, just in case he spots one of his offspring.
He told the Radio Times magazine: “’Love Island’ thinking that, one day, one of my daughters is going to be on there without telling me. I don’t watch, just in case.”
Listen to Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden weekdays from 6:30am – 10am across the UK and on Global Player.

Only Fools and Horses the Musical’s West End run to end

OHMYGOSSIP — Only Fools and Horses the Musical’s West End run is to end after four years.
The show – based on the hit BBC sitcom, which starred Sir David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst as wheeler dealer brothers Del Boy and Rodney Trotter – has been on at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket, and while it will come to an end on April 29th, a UK tour is in the works.
Paul Whitehouse – who co-wrote the stage show alongside Jim Sullivan, the son of the late ‘Only Fools’ creator John Sullivan – said: “It’s been an unbelievable four years for the whole cast of the ‘Only Fools’ musical.
“We’ve consistently played to packed houses and received standing ovations night after night – the audiences have been incredible.
“I’m committed to six months filming from May onwards, so it felt the right time to say “Bonjour” to Del and the gang … for now.”
Paul, who also plays Grandad in the show, admitted there will be more details about the UK tour later in the year.
He added: “But we are planning a UK tour – more details to be announced later this year – and we hope to bring the show back into the West End at some point in the future.
“But for now, there are just three months to get a ticket to see us at the Theatre Royal. Bonnet de douche!”
Tom Bennett and Ryan Hutton portray Del Boy and Rodney in the stage show, and Les Dennis has also portrayed Grandad in the musical, joining the cast in October until earlier this month.

Jake Quickenden’s ‘shocked’ by Michelle Heaton’s Dancing on Ice exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Quickenden was “shocked” by Michelle Heaton’s ‘Dancing On Ice’ exit.
The 43-year-old singer – who was partnered up with pro skater Lukasz Rozycki – became the second star of the series to hang up her ice skates on Sunday night (29.01.23), after she received the lowest scores from the judges.
In a brutal format shakeup, presenter Phillip Schofield announced at the start of the show that the skate-off had been axed for “one week only”.
TV personality Jake – who was crowned winner of ‘Dancing on Ice’ in 2018, alongside professional skater Vanessa Bauer – told OK!: “I didn’t expect it at all. I thought she’d improved massively from last week.
“She seems much more comfortable, much more confident. So I was very surprised how low her scores were.”
Michelle found herself at the bottom of the vote after she received 20 out of a possible 40 points from the judging panel – made up of Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – which Jake insists was rather “harsh”.
He added: “I think there is a bit of an issue with the scoring, in the way it is, because people are getting 8.5 on week three, I don’t really think that any of the dances were worth 8.5.
“Just because we’ve got so much more ahead of us and then to give Michelle a four, I thought it was a little bit harsh.
“I thought she did much better than she did last week. I definitely don’t think she was the weakest. So for me, it was quite surprising and quite shocking, because I wanted her to go on and on and on because I really like Michelle as a person as well. But yeah, I was quite shocked that she went home.”

Melvin Odoom considering stand-up comedy career

OHMYGOSSIP — Melvin Odoom is considering a stand-up comedy career after some praise from his pal Romesh Ranganathan.
The 42-year-old star – who is best known for being a radio DJ on Kiss and BBC Radio 1 – has been encouraged to test the stand-up comedy waters after Romesh told him he has “good comic timing”.
He said: “It’s a real test of whether you’re funny. Audiences don’t mess around. If they don’t find something funny they’re not going to laugh. So I would love to do that.
“In fact, I was with Romesh years ago and we were doing a panel show and he said, ‘Melv, you actually have good comic timing’.
“This could be a new career but I would have to do it in the most obscure part of the world where no one knows me.”
But Melvin believes if he launches a stand-up career in the UK then people would “expect” him to be “good” because of his years on the radio.
He added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “If I do it here then everyone would expect me to be good because I have been on the radio.
“Everyone expects you to have funny content. But stand-up is an art and you have to test material.”
Melvin previously revealed he and his pal and fellow radio DJ Rickie Haywood-Williams had held secret meetings about appearing on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
Revealing in March 2021 that they had been approached, Melvin said: “We have been asked to do ‘I’m A Celebrity’.
“We had a meeting with the team, and we’re both really scared of any bugs, any animals. Rickie did the spin-off, ‘Extra Camp’, and he had to do one of the tasks, he was freaking out … I’d be too, too scared.”

Lord Sugar: I’ll only leave The Apprentice in a coffin

OHMYGOSSIP — Lord Sugar insists the only way he’ll leave ‘The Apprentice’ is “in a coffin”.
The business mogul, 75, is currently fronting the 17th series of the reality show, but he has no plans to retire anytime soon, despite previously hinting a potential 20th series could be his last.
Speaking to Radio Times magazine, he said: “If I was to finish, 20 years would be much nicer. Of course, that decision is not mine. The BBC would have to make it.
“But I’d certainly be prepared to do it at least to the 20th and if I feel fit and happy, there’s no reason why I can’t just carry on until they take me out of the boardroom in a coffin.”
The Amstrad founder, who established the electronics company in 1968 aged 21, claims his products were better than the “Apple Rubbish” on the market today.
He added: “I understand all this s*** – it hasn’t left me behind. Trust me, I’m on top of it. We made quality products. Not like this Apple rubbish where you have to change it every time they bring out a new number. My stuff lasted forever.
“We made the first videophone at Amstrad, called the E-mailer, and everyone took the ps out of it. I sold more than half a million pieces. It ran on an old BT copper line — if you’d have stuck that on a wired broadband, you’d have video conferencing right there. So we were ahead of the game.”
Lord Sugar also took a swipe at the working-from-home culture.
He said: “The annoying thing, as far as I’m concerned, is the exploitation of the working-from-home syndrome. The truth of the matter is, you have to work with your people in your office. That’s why you have offices, right? You need to talk to each other, you need to know what’s going on.
“There’s all this bulls*** about working from home, ‘What difference does it make if the job gets done?’ Well, it don’t bloody get done, it’s as simple as that.”

Antonio Banderas announces Create The Card winner for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

OHMYGOSSIP — Antonio Banderas has announced the winner of a Create The Card competition for his new movie ‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’.
The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) held a competition for a talented young individual to design the official BBFC Black Card for the animated flick.
More than 700 entries were submitted by primary school pupils aged 4-11 across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Entries were assessed by a judging panel on their originality, creativity and relevance to the film franchise.
After extensive deliberation, Toby Kenny, aged nine from North Somerset, was crowned as the winner – with the news unveiled by Banderas.
The Oscar-nominated star said: “We saw so many incredibly inventive and outstanding designs from all four corners of the UK. It’s safe to say we were spoiled for choice – but one design was purr-fect.
“Congratulations to our deserved winner on being a part of film history! Thank you for your creativity, and to everyone else who entered. And now, get ready for the adventure of nine lifetimes. Don’t miss ‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’, in cinemas this February.”
Toby will be granted the once-in-a-lifetime experience of attending a private preview screening of the film ahead of release with family in London. He will also receive a framed copy of the BBFC Black Card and an abundance of film merchandise.
Additionally, he will be given the exclusive opportunity to attend a local screening of the film in North Somerset with his entire class and teachers.
Toby said: “Our teachers gave us the competition as homework and it was the most fun homework ever. We watched the trailer and the film looks so funny and exciting – and I chose to draw Puss as he’s such a cool character. His colours and expressions make him good to draw. I can’t wait to see my picture up on the big screen in a cinema. I’m going to take lots of friends to see the film at half term so they can see my drawing.”

Leslie Grace hopes audiences get to see Batgirl scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Leslie Grace is still hopeful that scenes from ‘Batgirl’ will be released in the future.
The 28-year-old actress had been due to play the title role in the cancelled superhero movie but hopes that fans will have an opportunity to see some of the work that was completed on the film.
In an interview with Collider, Leslie said: “I would’ve loved people to see those moments, but you know what? You have the experience, and you keep on rolling, and I feel so blessed, all in all, that I have those memories and hopefully maybe in some future, some clips will arise and people will get to enjoy a little bit of it.
“But for now, we’ll just have to keep it going in comic folklore, I guess, with all of our memories and our stories while we can.”
Leslie is proud of her work on ‘Batgirl’ and loved the experience of shooting the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) flick in Glasgow.
She explained: “I truly had one of (the best) experiences with ‘Batgirl’. In terms of the experience of shooting, we were all excited for people to see a lot of the action, a lot of the practical shots we did with fire. Our movie was full of practical fire, which was really hard to shoot.”
Brendan Fraser had been due to star in the film as the antagonist Firefly and Leslie had high praise for the actor – who is being tipped to win the Best Actor Oscar for his role in ‘The Whale’.
She said: “Brendan (Fraser), our villain, our Firefly, he was just so outstanding and so happy that he’s having this incredible moment – the Brenaissance as everyone says.
“He’s amazing. He’s one of the kindest people in the world, and I felt so blessed to have him as my sparring partner. We had so many amazing action scenes together where we were beating each other up, but hugging in between takes because he’s just so sweet.”

Molly-Mae Hague reveals Disney-inspired baby name

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague has named her baby Bambi.
The 23-year-old reality star has been in a relationship with ‘Love Island’ co-star Tommy Fury since they met on the set of the ITV2 dating show in 2019 and after announcing the arrival of their daughter on Monday (30.01.23), took to social media again the following day to confirm that the little one shares a name with the animated mule deer from the 1942 Disney classic.
Alongside a snap of the new born lying next to a plush of the Disney character underneath a light that spelled out her name, Molly-Mae wrote on Instagram: “Bambi [white heart emoji]”
Towards the end of last year, Molly-Mae explained that she had chosen the name when she was a child herself and teased that the moniker was “really unusual” and “different” and insisted that she knew nobody else with that name.
She said: “Yes, we do have a baby girl name picked out, I’ve had the name picked out since I was a baby girl myself. It’s always been a dream baby girl name and luckily when I met Tommy and I told him the name I’ve always dreamt of using, he absolutely loved it too. It’s a really really unusual and a different name, I do not know anybody else with the name. I’ve not seen any other girls with the name before, it’s that different.”
The PrettyLittleThing creative director gave birth to her first child last week and when announcing the arrival explained that becoming a mum had been “one of the best things” that had happened to her as she promised to love the new born unconditionally.
She said: “One week old today. I can’t believe we get to keep you forever. Becoming your mum has been one of the best things to ever happen to me… it doesn’t seem possible but my love for you grows with each passing moment. There is no feeling like holding you in my arms little one, my heart literally explodes. Thank you for entering this world safely for us and blessing us with the gift of being your parents. We promise to love and care for you unconditionally forever.”

James Gunn announces new DC movie slate

OHMYGOSSIP — James Gunn is planning to use “diamond characters” of the DC Universe to support unknown characters as he takes on the new slate of the film franchise.
The 56-year-old executive has teamed up with Peter Safran, 57, and the pair will oversee the creative aspects of a host of new superhero projects over the coming years at the DC studios, with a total of several new movies and TV shows announced on Tuesday (31.01.23).
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “One of our strategies is to take our diamond characters, which is Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and we use them to prop up other characters that people don’t know.”
Peter added: “To build those lesser-known properties into the diamond properties of tomorrow.”
The initial slate of Chapter One will consist of an animated seven-episode series titled ‘Creature Commandos’, which has been written by James and has already entered into production, while ‘First Lady’ actress Viola Davis will return to her role as morally ambiguous government head Amanda Waller in ‘Waller’, which will serve as a spin-off to ‘Peacemaker.’
Meanwhile, the cinematic venture ‘Superman: Legacy’ is said to focus on the classic hero’s “Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing” and has been slated for a release date of July 11 2025.
‘Lanterns’ has replaced Greg Berlanti’s long-in-the-works ‘Green Lanterns’ TV series and according to Peter will be a “terrestrial-based” project in a similar vein to ‘True Detective.’
‘Authority’ will be a movie based on a team of superheroes with unorthodox methods of saving the planet, all stemming from an idea that has been in the works since the 1990s and, according to James, will “not just be a story of heroes and villains”, whilst ‘Paradise Lost’ will be a ‘Game of Thrones’-style drama set on the all-female island of Wonderwoman’s birthplace which takes place before the events depicted in the ‘Wonderwoman’ film series.
‘The Brave and the Bold’ will serve as the “introduction of the DCU Batman” and will be a “very strange father-and-son story”, whilst ‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson will continue as the alias of Bruce Wayne in a forthcoming crime saga movie directed by Matt Reeves following on from his star turn as the titular superhero in 2022’s ‘The Batman.’
Peter commented: “2025 is going to be a very big year for DC. Superman and Batman within the same year!”
Closing out the slate will be the HBO Max series ‘Booster Gold’ which is “about a loser from the future who uses basic future technology to come back to today and pretend to be a superhero”, whilst ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ , which will focus on a “much more hardcore” version of the character than has been seen before.
The conclusion of the first chapter of the slate will come in the form of ‘Swamp Thing’, a horror movie based on the comic strips that follow a humanoid/plant elemental creature.

Love Island’s Olivia Hawkins left in tears after finding out about Tom Clare’s secret kiss

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Hawkins burst into tears after finding out that Tom Clare had secretly kissed Ellie Spence on ‘Love Island.’
The 27-year-old ring girl had been coupled up with footballer Tom, 23, on the hit ITV2 reality dating show but after being told by co-stars Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown and Tanya Manhenga that he shared a smooch with bombshell Ellie, 25, she accused him of “playing a smart game” in the South African villa on Tuesday’s (31.01.23) episode.
She said: “Tom? Do you have anything you wanna say? Nothing you wanna tell me? About the terrace? No kiss? Didn’t fancy telling me about that? I think you’re playing a smart game. You’re playing with my feelings. It all makes so much sense to me.”
When Tom protested that it was “only a kiss” and insisted that Ellie had “come onto him”, Olivia retorted that he cannot “have his cake and eat it” and accused him of “forgetting” about her feelings before she rushed off the set in tears.
She said: “Only a kiss? Wow! The fact that you’ve come to me and said you want to explore it again, you can’t have your cake and eat it! Honestly, you’re playing me. I’m putting myself out there. Why didn’t you tell me you’d kissed her? Why am I gonna want to get to know someone who is kissing everyone? You’ve mugged me off again. If this is you being straight up with me, then I don’t want to know about it. I don’t know what you’re in here for but you’re forgetting about people’s feelings.”
When Tom was grilled by co-star Shaq Muhammad over the situation, he said: “I don’t have to run and tell Liv that I’ve kissed another girl. I don’t think a kiss is that deep, it’s not like I’ve s****** anyone! I ain’t got any loyalties to anyone!”
At the end of the episode, the Islanders received the news that one of them will be saying goodbye to the show in tomorrow night’s episode because of a surprise recoupling which will allow the boys to choose another girl.
The girl not chosen in the recoupling will be dumped from the island immediately.
‘Love Island’ continues tomorrow (01.02.23) at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX and can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Dave Bautista has ‘high hopes’ he’ll land a rom-com lead

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista would love to star in a rom-com but thinks he might be too “unattractive”.
Despite not feeling like he’s a “typical rom-com lead”, the wrestler-turned-actor still has “high hopes” that one day he’ll be cast in the part.
Speaking to Page Six, he said: “I know I’m not your typical rom-com lead.
“I’m a little rough around the edges. But I always, you know, I look in the mirror and I say, I ask myself, ‘Am I that unattractive? Is there something that unappealing about me that excludes me from these parts?’
“I don’t know. It’s just never come my way. I’ve never had an offer to do a rom-com. I still have high hopes. I’ll just keep searching.”
A role he has been ruled out of is playing Bane in the DC universe.
The 54-year-old star has previously admitted his desire to take on the role, and fans thought the opportunity could well arise after Bautista’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ director James Gunn took charge of DC Studios – alongside Peter Safran – but the star insists Bane should be portrayed by a “younger and fresher” actor.
He said: “I have had conversations with James about that but I think the direction he’s leaning in, completely rebooting that whole universe, he’s starting from scratch and starting younger and fresher and I think you need to do that.”
Bautista insists he “understands” the need for a younger face to portray the character, and doesn’t believe he would “bring justice” to the role at this point in his career.
He added to Insider: “I think for the DC Universe to be revived, you need to start from scratch, and I think you need to start with younger actors.
“You need to start to plan for the next 15 years, and I just don’t think you can do that with me. And I understand that. And, also, I have to say that I appreciate that because I don’t want to play a character that I can’t bring justice to it.
“I don’t think at this point in my career that I can bring justice to Bane anymore. I just don’t know if I could handle the physical part, and I don’t think I would have the longevity to plan ahead for films. So, I just don’t know if I’d be that guy.”
Earlier this month, Bautista admitted it was a “relief” when he said goodbye to his ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ character Drax the Destroyer.
He is best known in the acting world for playing Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the 2014 movie, but he insists it “wasn’t all pleasant” portraying the comic book character.
He said: “I’m so grateful for Drax. I love him. But there’s a relief [that it’s over]. It wasn’t all pleasant. It was hard playing that role. The makeup process was beating me down.”
Bautista – who has since gone on to appear in the likes of James Bond film ‘Spectre’ and sci-fi movie ‘Dune’ – insisted it was a “silly performance” and he is keen to do “more dramatic stuff”.
He said: “And I just don’t know if I want Drax to be my legacy – it’s a silly performance, and I want to do more dramatic stuff.”

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence confirm Bad Boys 4

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have confirmed ‘Bad Boys 4’ is in the works.
The pair shared the same video on social media, revealing they will reunite for a fourth film in the franchise, a follow up to the third film ‘Bad Boys for Life’, which was released in 2020.
In an Instagram clip, Smith films himself heading to Lawrence’s house in his car, in which he plays the song ‘Shake Ya Tailfeather’, by Nelly, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Murphy Lee, from the ‘Bad Boys II’ soundtrack as he gives fans a “hint” about what is to come.
He told the camera: “I wish I was you not knowing what I’m about to show me.”
Smith then arrives at Lawrence’s house and the pair embrace before both saying “it’s about that time”, followed by: “Bad boys for life, baby.”
During the clip, Smith joked that they shouldn’t have called the third movie ‘Bad Boys for Life’, because it would’ve worked better for this film as a play on words with the number four.
