David Jason: People can call me The Guv’nor

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir David Jason has joked people can call him “The Guv’nor”, after he took on the nickname from the late Ronnie Barker.
The 82-year-old actor used to refer to his ‘Open All Hours’ co-star Ronnie – who died in 2005 aged 76 – as “The Guv’nor” during their times on the BBC sitcom, but the “Guv’norship” was passed onto him when Ronnie retired.
He said: “Ronnie B was the head of the team and because he was such a nice man, and so creative, and very funny and stimulating in his own right, he passed that on to the rest of the cast.
“He loved showbiz, he loved acting, and he loved giving pleasure to people, and he passed that on to me, if you like.
“It was me that used to call Ronnie The Guv’nor and then when Ronnie retired he decided that he would hand over The Guv’norship, as he called it, to me. I was his apprentice – so if you ever see me you can either call me Sir David or just The Guv’nor, I don’t mind.”
David is best known for starring in ‘Only Fools and Horses’, ‘A Touch of Frost’ and ‘Open All Hours’, but he nearly didn’t appear in the latter because he initially felt he was “too old” to portray Granville, the nephew and errand boy of Ronnie’s shopkeeper alter-ego Arkwright.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, David says on new documentary ‘Open all Hours: 50 Years of Laughter’: “I thought I was too old to play it. Meaning that if Granville was delivering groceries at that age, would he be not as bright, maybe? That was the thing that held me back.
“But when I explained this to the director and to Ronnie B, they both understood, and said, ‘It will work. It will be alright.’ Those fears were put to rest and I just – well, we just all loved it.”
‘Open all Hours: 50 Years of Laughter’ is on Channel 5, on Saturday (04.02.23), at 8.50pm and then any time on My 5.

Pierce Brosnan and Helena Bonham Carter cast in Four Letters of Love

OHMYGOSSIP — Pierce Brosnan and Helena Bonham Carter are to star in the Irish romance ‘Four Letters of Love’.
The movie is based on the bestselling novel by Niall Williams and will see the duo portray the parents of fated lovers played by rising stars Fionn O’Shea and Ann Skelly. Gabriel Byrne also has a part in the film.
Polly Steele is directing the project and it will be produced by BAFTA nominee Debbie Gray and Douglas Cummins. The film will begin shooting in Northern Ireland this month before moving to the Republic of Ireland.
A synopsis reads: “Nicholas Coughlan (O’Shea) and Isabel Gore (Skelly) are fated to be together. The question is whether or not they will ever find out. As ghosts, fate and the sheer power of true love pull Nicholas and Isabel together, so too does life threaten to tear them apart.”
Gray said of the film: “I’m thrilled to be bringing this beautiful piece of work from writer Niall Williams and director Polly Steele to the screen. A seminal piece of Irish literature and I couldn’t be more pleased with the cast and creative team that have joined us on this journey.”
Cummins added: “Niall Williams’ debut novel is beguiling, and utterly irresistible, and it’s an enormous privilege to be transporting it to the screen so that new audiences can join the scores of existing fans from many countries across the world who have already succumbed to its countless charms and delights.”
Cornerstone will handle worldwide sales and will launch the project at the European Film Market. The Irish-set movie launches off the back of film success for the Emerald Isle in recent times, with ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ and ‘The Quiet Girl’ hailing from the country.

Misha Green to direct Sunflower

OHMYGOSSIP — Misha Green will make her feature directorial debut with ‘Sunflower’.
The ‘Lovecraft Country’ creator is to write and helm the film that centres on two women struggling to escape from a deranged college professor who is holding them hostage on a remote sunflower farm.
Jurnee Smollett has been cast in the film while Green is producing the Lionsgate thriller alongside Craig Flores.
The movie reunites Misha and Jurnee after they collaborated on the TV shows ‘Underground and ‘Lovecraft Country’ – the latter of which received 18 Emmy nominations. It is hoped that the flick will begin production in the summer.
Nathan Kahane, president of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said in a statement: “Everyone at our studio was completely drawn in by the way Misha, Jurnee, and the ‘Lovecraft Country’ team worked so confidently to create a compelling genre series – then subverted the genre and reinvented it through a new lens.
“That’s the opportunity with ‘Sunflower’. The screenplay is unique, thrilling, and flat-out scary. It’s going to make a hell of a movie.”
Green pointed out that ‘Sunflower’ was the first script she sold after arriving in Hollywood and will now be her first outing behind the camera.
The 38-year-old screenwriter said: “I couldn’t have hoped for better partners and collaborators than Nathan, the Lionsgate team, Craig, and Jurnee to help me shepherd it to the big screen.”
Smollett played the role of Dinah Laurel Lance/Black Canary in the superhero film ‘Birds of Prey’ and is “very excited” about the standalone spin-off for her alter ego.
The 36-year-old actress said: “I’m just so incredibly excited about a number of things that I can’t talk about. I mean, I’m excited, that’s what I can say. I’m excited about getting to explore a lot… I feel like we’ve only touched the surface with Black Canary.”

Peter Crouch, Stephen Mulhern and Lee Mack ‘join Masked Singer as guest judges’

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Crouch, Stephen Mulhern and Lee Mack are to join ‘The Masked Singer’ as guest judges.
The former England striker made a guest judge appearance on ‘The Masked Dancer’ last year, and the star clearly impressed as he is to appear on ‘The Masked Singer’ on Saturday (04.02.23).
Peter, Stephen and Lee will join regular panellists Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan for the quarter-finals.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “The Masked Singer remains a huge Saturday night show for ITV, with over five million viewers last weekend.
“They’ve thrown the budget at a raft of star panellists as they cruise towards the big finale next month.”
It comes as comedian Katherine Ryan was the latest star to be unmasked on the show.
She was unveiled as Pigeon last weekend, and after removing the mask she said: “I can only do sort of an Essex accent because I watch so much ITV. I love reality TV. I love The GC! I love Cheryl and I used to do a bit of roast comedy in my act about her so I feel like it’s beautiful karma that I went off on her song.
“I have a month left. I feel like I have a baby’s foot in my lung at most times and it is actually harder than I thought. But you can’t tell my daughter anything because she would spill it to the whole school so she’ll be finding out along with everyone else!”
Judges Davina, Rita, Jonathan, and Mo opted to save Jacket Potato from the bottom two and sent them through to the next round.

Salma Hayek nearly died during steamy Magic Mike’s Last Dance scene

OHMYGOSSIP — Salma Hayek was “nearly killed” by Channing Tatum as the pair filmed a steamy scene for ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’.
The duo are starring together in the final instalment of the comedy-drama trilogy but she revealed that a saucy sequence where Channing’s character Mike Lane shows off his lap dancing skills to her alter ego almost ended in tragedy.
Speaking on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, Salma said: “You know, this one part that’s not in it where I’m upside down, and my legs had to be somewhere. But upside down, one loses sense of direction, and I didn’t do what I was supposed to do, so in the rehearsal, I went like, head down, almost hit my head.”
The 56-year-old star continued: “(Channing) held on to my pants, but I was really concerned because my pants were going away, and I couldn’t remember if I had underwear or not in this moment. So, instead of putting my hands to protect my head, I just held onto the pants. He’s like, ‘Put your hands up,’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no.’
“Everybody came in, and kind of took me away from him, and he said, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ I said, ‘What’s wrong with me? You nearly killed me!'”
Salma stepped in to replace Thandiwe Newton as the female lead in Steven Soderbergh’s movie and admitted that the lap dance routine was “very physically challenging”.
The ‘Frida’ star said: “It’s very physically challenging.
“My goodness. You just wait to see. It’s just complicated.”

Dom Joly confirms Trigger Happy TV spin-off is in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — Dom Joly has confirmed a ‘Trigger Happy TV’ spin-off is in the works.
The 55-year-old comedian says the new format has the “same sense of humour” as the original Channel 4 show – which ran from 2000 to 2003, before a brief reboot from 2016 to 2017 – and has the same people behind it, and he is “really excited” about the programme.
He said: “I spent a lot of time on ‘Trigger Happy’ honing my skills annoying members of the public so now I’m going to take those skills and maybe take on something else.
“I did a small reboot for Channel 4 before but there were two things I really wanted to do: one was a movie and the other was to try and get a completely new spin on ‘Trigger Happy’.
“So it’s the same sort of comedy, same sense of humour and the same people behind it but doing it for a completely different purpose and I think we’ve come up with a completely new format so it’s really exciting.”
Dom admitted he is still waiting for the “green light”, but he is hopefully it will be “really cool”.
One of the most memorable characters from ‘Trigger Happy’ saw Dom portray “Big Mobile Guy”, who went around shouting into a huge novelty mobile phone, but the star isn’t a huge fan of the character.
He added to The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “I kind of don’t really like the mobile character much.
“The rest of ‘Trigger Happy’ was about surrealism and weirdness and it was quite dark whereas Big Mobile Guy was just a bit in your face.
“Back in 2017 we made it a big smartphone and I was live vlogging food and, you know, using it for Tinder.”

Peter Safran defends decision to scrap Batgirl movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Safran has defended the decision to shelve ‘Batgirl’.
The 57-year-old film producer is working with James Gunn to oversee a new era for DC Studios and has backed the controversial choice made by Warner Bros. last summer to scrap the release of the superhero flick, which was set to star Leslie Grace in the lead role.
Peter – the co-chairperson and CEO of DC Studios – told Variety: “On the ‘Batgirl’ front, it’s not about late in the process of the film getting cancelled. I saw the movie, and there are a lot of incredibly talented people in front of and behind the camera on the film.
“But that film was not releasable, and it happens sometimes. That film was not releasable. I actually think that (the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David) Zaslav and the team made a very bold and courageous decision to cancel it because it would have hurt DC. It would have hurt those people involved.”
The decision to shelve ‘Batgirl’ came before Peter took up his post at DC and he suggested that the studio would be willing to work with directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah on another project that is more suited to the big screen.
He said: “I think that they really stood up to support DC. The characters, the story, the quality of all of that. I spoke to Adil and Bilall – the directors – last week, we were chatting. We’d love to be in business with all those folks.”
Safran added: “As I said, a lot of talented people were involved, but the film was just not releasable. It would not have been able to compete in the theatrical marketplace; it was built for the small screen. So, again, I think it was not an easy decision, but they made the right decision by shelving it.”

Love Island bombshell promises to be the ‘cheekiest boy’ in the villa

OHMYGOSSIP — Casey O’Gorman wants to become the “cheekiest boy” in the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The 26-year-old recruitment consultant from Tring is set to make his debut on the hit ITV reality dating series as a bombshell arrival on Wednesday’s (01.02.23) episode and has entered the show in an attempt to fulfil a lifelong wish to be married with kids by the age of 30.
He said: “I feel like now is the time to settle down and find a girlfriend. I’ve always said I want to be married with kids by the time I’m 30. I’m 26, so we are getting there! I’ll be the cheekiest boy in Villa. I can definitely see myself kissing a lot of the girls in there! So I guess, lots of entertainment and lots of drama!”
Casey went on to explain that he came out of a “serious relationship” a year ago and has “had a lot of fun” since the split but is hoping to find the one in the South African villa as he admitted he has got his eye on “so many” of the female Islanders.
He said: “I came out of a serious relationship a year ago and I haven’t really been looking for anything for the last year but after lots of fun, I’ve realised that now I want to settle down and find something real. There’s honestly so many I have my eye on. I’m cheeky, naughty, outgoing, and ambitious. They’d say I’m very driven at everything I do, I always aim to be the best and come first at pretty much everything. They’d also say I’ve got a big heart, I’m very lovable.”
‘Love Island’ airs tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Why new Love Island bombshell Jordan Odifin has entered the villa…

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordan Odofin has promised to bring “swagger” to ‘Love Island.’
The 28-year-old Senior HR Advisor – who hails from London – is set to enter the South African villa as a bombshell arrival during Wednesday’s (01.02.23) episode of the hit reality dating show and thinks the other boys should be “worried” about him because everyone is “up for grabs.”
He said: “I’m looking to find a genuine connection with someone. Firstly, I’ve been busy and focused on my career and there’ve been lots of distractions with dating apps and meeting people on nights out. It feels like the right time for me to settle down. I’m going to bring my London swagger, not many of the boys in the Villa are from London. I’m 6’5 so I’m tall and I’ve got a good physique. I’ve got a good dress sense – and apparently, I’m easy on the eye, too! I think the other boys in the Villa should be worried about me because everyone’s up for grabs!”
Jordan went on to add that he is currently single out of choice and can be “picky” when it comes to looking for love but admitted that he needs to find a girl who can “put [him] in his place.”
He added: “I’m single by choice. I’m very picky in terms of what I like, if someone does something that I think is an ‘ick’ then I’ll be off. I want to go into the Villa and build a genuine connection with no distractions. I need a girl that can put me in my place, therefore I’ve got my eye on all the strong women in the Villa!”
‘Love Island’ airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX and on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Zara Lackenby-Brown dumped from Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara Lackenby-Brown has been dumped from the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The fiery Londoner has been sent home after Tom Clare opted to couple up with Ellie Spence – who he shared a secret kiss with – leaving the 25-year-old bombshell the last woman standing following the recoupling.
The property developer initially thought she and Tom had “potential”, but ultimately she’s glad they’d cooled things off.
Reflecting afterwards, she said: “I went in with an open mind. Tom isn’t my usual type at all so that was new to me but, I was being open minded as I knew the experience was all about pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
“I did think there could be potential with Tom. He’d told me he’d been in a long-term relationship, so I already knew he was capable of being committed. The age difference was a bit of a barrier for me – girls mature faster than guys.
“I genuinely think me and Tom calling it a day was the best thing that we could have done because we weren’t ever actually on the same page. Like a flame, we burned quick, and it was just more physical attraction. The fact we weren’t each other’s types intrigued us to try and make a go of it, but ultimately it didn’t work out.”
When it comes to the rest of the contestants, Zara thinks Will Young and Australian-based Jessie Wynter, and Tanya Manhenga and Shaq Muhammad can go the distance.
Asked which couples she thinks will last, she said: “Jessie and Will. If either of them are prepared to travel, or move, their energies really do match up, they really get along with each other. I do genuinely think that Tanya and Shaq will last, too.”
‘Love Island’ next airs on Thursday (02.02.23) at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX and can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Paul Rudd: Joining Marvel in early years was like signing up to Dancing with the Stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Rudd says joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the early years was like signing up to ‘Dancing with the Stars’.
The 53-year-old actor plays Scott Lang/ Ant-Man in the MCU, but admits being in a superhero film was “never on [his] radar” when he first had a meeting with Marvel Studios’ president Kevin Feige.
He said: “My agent set up a meeting with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Marvel was pretty new. They weren’t even part of Disney. It would’ve been like somebody saying, How would you feel about doing ‘Dancing with the Stars’? A superhero franchise was never on my radar.”
Rudd went on to play the main character in 2015 film ‘Ant-Man’, and he has reprised the role in films ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’, and ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
The star admitted it “excited” him to be doing something “so out of left field”, and he couldn’t wait to pull on a superhero costume.
He added to Men’s Health magazine: “I never really thought I was the type of actor that they would offer any of those parts to.
“But when this idea came around, I was excited about doing something that was so out of left field, and I knew that if it was announced that I was going to be joining a superhero franchise, most people would say, What the f***? And I got to wear a superhero suit.”
In 2020, Rudd admitted he felt nervous on the set of ‘Captain America: Civil War’, because he was working alongside stars such as Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan.
He said: “There was a real kind of nervousness about Scott Lang, and I just really kind of played into that because that was part of what I was feeling anyway.
“I’d look around and think, ‘Whoa, there’s Chris Evans and there’s Sebastian Stan, and wow – and there’s the suits.’
“Do you remember there was like a little makeshift locker room? We’re all kind of changing into things, and I saw the suits on the racks. It felt like being in a locker room of a Super Bowl-winning football team.”

Ben Whishaw ‘doesn’t know’ if Paddington 3 is still happening

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Whishaw has admitted he doesn’t know if ‘Paddington 3’ is “happening”.
Back in the summer, it was reported that ‘Paddington in Peru’ is set to start principal photography in 2023, and the team will film on location in both London and Peru.
However, the voice behind the titular bear has admitted he’s not even seen a script yet and it’s all gone “silent”.
He told Collider: “I haven’t read this script and I don’t even know when we’re due to shoot it. I don’t know. I thought it would be happening by now, but I don’t know. It’s gone silent in the way that sometimes these things do. Maybe that just means they’re still working on it, or maybe it means it’s not happening, or you just don’t know.”
In June, it was announced that filmmaker Dougal Wilson was replacing Paul King – who directed both ‘Paddington’ films – at the helm of ‘Paddington in Peru’.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “As a huge fan of the first two films, I am very excited (if not a little intimidated) to be continuing the story of Paddington.
“It’s a massive responsibility, but all my efforts will be focused on making a third film that honours the love so many people have for this very special bear.”
King was to remain on board with the project as an executive producer, while he also wrote the story alongside ‘Paddington’ collaborators Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton.
Burton teamed up with Jon Foster and James Lamont on the script.
King added: “After ten years of working on the Paddington movies, I feel absurdly protective of the little bear, and I’m delighted that Dougal will be there to hold his paw as he embarks on his third big-screen adventure.
“Dougal’s work is never less than astounding: funny, beautiful, heartfelt, imaginative, and totally original.
“Aunt Lucy once asked us to ‘Please Look After This Bear.’ I know Dougal will do so admirably.”
The plot and cast of the upcoming film is still under wraps, with Ben having voiced the bear in the first two movies, which saw him sharing adventures with the Brown family, led by actors Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman ‘sign 2-year Strictly deal’

OHMYGOSSIP — Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have signed a new two-year ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ deal.
The co-hosts have put pen to paper on a new contract to keep fronting the BBC Latin and ballroom – which they have presented together since 2014 – and it is said bosses “couldn’t contemplate” the pair not being at the helm of the programme.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Beeb chiefs absolutely love Tess and Claudia and wouldn’t dream of ever losing them.
“They are especially proud of the fact that they have two women hosting a show on a Saturday and Sunday on prime time BBC1. It is an enviable position to be in.
“Strictly’s leading ladies may command a high price, but the Beeb view them as great value for money given how popular they are with viewers.
“In the nine years they’ve been fronting the show, Tess and Claudia have become synonymous with the programme and bosses couldn’t contemplate them not being its presenters.
“Which is why execs are so keen to sign them up for another two years and ensure they don’t get poached by a rival broadcaster for their big shows.”
In September, Tess’ husband, fellow TV presenter Vernon Kay, said she will never quit the show, and wants to keep hosting the series until she is in her 80s, like former co-host Sir Bruce Forsyth.
Bruce stepped down when he was 86 and passed away aged in 2017 aged 89.
Vernon said: “‘Strictly’ was probably one of the first shows to embrace two women as the main anchors of a huge Saturday night entertainment show.
“We’ve seen Ant and Dec for decades double-heading a show and I don’t think two women had done that before on such a large scale.
“As far as prime-time entertainment shows go, Claudia and Tess really broke the mould.”

Danny Dyer felt EastEnders character had ‘lost his way’

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer felt his ‘EastEnders’ character had “lost his way” as his stint on the soap came to an end.
The 45-year-old star bowed out of the BBC One show in December when his character Mick Carter went missing at sea in a dramatic Christmas Day (25.12.22) episode, and the star has now admitted he grew tired of people “constantly” telling him they didn’t watch the programme anymore.
He said: “I felt my character had lost his way. I didn’t quite know who I was playing anymore, it was a really odd thing.
“All I got for the past couple of years was, ‘You still in that ‘EastEnders’? I don’t watch it anymore.’ Constantly, that was the thing.
“When I first came in there was like seven or eight million people watching it, of course because of streaming services and all that stuff a lot less people do watch it. It was more that people didn’t watch it anymore, ‘You still in that?’ it was all that sort of dialogue.
“It was a lot of people, a lot of young people, young people don’t watch it.”
While Mick is now missing and assumed dead, Danny admits his time on the show is not necessarily over, and hinted he could come back in three years “smothered in seaweed”.
And the star admitted he could even return like Neighbours’ Harold Bishop, when the character headed back to Erinsborough in 1996 after being assumed dead after he was washed away.
Speaking to iFL TV, Danny added: “I had a good reaction from all that [his final scenes]. I was very surprised by the amount of love I got from it, really. I didn’t quite know how that was going to go down.
“I do remember Harold Bishop, a few people have mentioned that to me because he died and then he came back, he washed up funnily enough, lost his memory.
“Who knows? They’ve kept it open, I could turn up in three years smothered in seaweed.
“I went to Canvey, I thought I’d go and get a caravan on Canvey Island.”
Danny also admitted he is “very grateful” for ‘EastEnders’, describing it as a “good gig”, but admitted it is “time to move on”.

Keanu Reeves begged for Constantine sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Keanu Reeves begged Warner Bros. to make a ‘Constantine’ sequel.
The 58-year-old star is to reprise his role as the supernatural exorcist John Constantine in the upcoming sequel to the 2005 movie and revealed that he has always been desperate to make the movie.
Keanu told Total Film magazine: “I don’t know if it was unfinished business but it was definitely a role that I loved, and I thought that Francis Lawrence, the director, did such amazing work. I loved playing that character, and I really enjoyed the film.
“I was like, (adopts ‘Oliver Twist’ voice) ‘Can I please have some more?’… I kept asking almost every year. I’d be like, ‘Can I please?’ (and) they’d be like, ‘No, no!'”
Lawrence is returning to direct the sequel, which was confirmed last year, and Reeves is hopeful about the movie’s prospects.
‘The Matrix’ actor said: “It’s exciting. It’s almost like an open playground that we can hopefully cook something up and play in, and I guess get out of the playground and prepare a meal, but I’m looking forward to it, and hopefully it can happen.
“You don’t know how these things go. But I’m definitely going to try my darnedest to try and realise that dream.”
Francis had to be “convinced” to work on the sequel but agreed to do so once it became clear that Keanu and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman would have control over the character of Constantine – who appears in DC’s ‘Hellblazer’ comics.
The ‘Hunger Games’ filmmaker said: “We finally have sort of given the permission to go ahead and do our version of Constantine because people are always saving him to be part of some shared universe thing or some TV thing or whatever.
“And now I think people realise that there might really be an appetite for another version of the Keanu Constantine.”

Bruno Tonioli ‘accidentally breaks BGT rules’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Tonioli made a ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ faux pas when he pressed his Golden Buzzer for a second time.
The ITV show’s new judge – who has replaced David Walliams on the panel – is said to have not realised he was only allowed to press the buzzer, which gives wannabes a direct passage from the auditions to the live finals, once during the series.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “It was madness. The buzzer worked but there was no glitter in the cannon above the stage as it had already been used up.
“A producer raced over to try to tell Bruno he couldn’t do that.”
After Bruno’s ‘BGT’ mishap, head judge Simon Cowell was said to have entered discussions with the show’s producers about whether or not to let the act through.
The source added: “Then there were discussions with the top execs and Simon, who had his head in his hands.
“Then Bruno said he’d never actually watched before!
“Apparently it was because he didn’t want to be influenced by other shows’ judging styles.
“But he’s the big money new signing! Fortunately, the audience love him and just laugh at his blundering.”
What’s more, the former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge is said to be “up and down like a yo-yo” from his seat during the auditions at the London Palladium, keeping the camera operators on their toes.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Bruno is a little firecracker and constantly jumping up and down. The crowd loves it, Simon loves it … but the camera operators, less so.
“It’s an undertaking keeping up with him. He is up and down like a yo-yo.”
Bruno, 67, recently admitted he was “so excited” to be joining the panel.
He said in a statement: “Here we are, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. I am so excited. It’s my first show, I have no idea what’s going to happen, but I’m sure it’s going to be brilliant.”
