Ellie Bamber to play Kate Moss in new biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Actress Ellie Bamber is to play Kate Moss in a new biopic.
The 26-year-old ‘Willow’ star has signed up to portray the supermodel in new film ‘Moss and Freud’ about the supermodel’s decision to pose naked for artist Lucian Freud – with veteran screen star Derek Jacobi taking on the role of Freud in the film.
Kate has been involved in bringing the picture to life with writer/director James Lucas and says she’s very happy with the casting news, saying: “As this is such a personal story of mine it has been essential that I be involved with James in all aspects as the project has developed.
“I am thrilled by the recent casting and excited that the film will begin shooting soon, I cannot wait to see it.”
The film is set around Freud’s London studio and will tell the story of the artist’s past as well as focusing on Kate’s position as a world-famous model.
The picture of Kate took nine months of sittings and it later sold in 2005 for almost $5 million. The pair remained close friends until Freud’s death aged 88 in 2011.
Kate previously revealed she wanted to tell the story of the incredible friendship and she was keen to work with James Lucas after watching his film ‘The Phone Call’.
She previously said in a statement: “Sitting for Lucian was an honour and incredible experience. After watching ‘The Phone Call’ I knew that James would convey the emotion in the storytelling in a fitting way, one this memoir deserves.”
Lucas previously said: “In many ways, I believe all paths led me to make this film. Its topography, emotional and psychological drama, bohemianism, beauty, characters and artistic process all align with my life and the way I have lived it.
“I’m grateful to Kate Moss and the Freud Estate for entrusting me with this precious and unconventional love story. It allows our diverse audience to take a look behind the curtain and see, truthfully, what makes these cultural titans tick.”

Channing Tatum needed make-up on his bum for Magic Mike’s Last Dance

OHMYGOSSIP — Channing Tatum had to cover up a blemish on his bum for ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’.
Make-up artists on the upcoming movie had to spend 20 minutes every day rubbing concealer and powder on the Hollywood hunk’s bare bottom to hide the scar he suffered from a bite while filming his previous flick ‘Dog’.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Channing is actually quite proud of that scar because of how much the film ‘Dog’ meant to him.
“But for ‘Magic Mike 3’ it was case of keeping his assets looking as visually pleasing as possible.
“A make-up team had to make sure that the concealer covered his canine teeth marks.
“But the team also had to ensure that his skin was smooth. It was a proper 20-minute job working on his bum.”
Channing will strip off once again as he reprises his role as Mike Lane in the conclusion to the trilogy and is joined in the cast by Salma Hayek, but a raunchy lap dancing scene between the pair almost ended in tragedy.
Salma said: “You know, this one part that’s not in it where I’m upside down, and my legs had to be somewhere. But upside down, one loses sense of direction, and I didn’t do what I was supposed to do, so in the rehearsal, I went like, head down, almost hit my head.
“(Channing) held on to my pants, but I was really concerned because my pants were going away, and I couldn’t remember if I had underwear or not in this moment. So, instead of putting my hands to protect my head, I just held onto the pants. He’s like, ‘Put your hands up,’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no.’
“Everybody came in, and kind of took me away from him, and he said, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ I said, ‘What’s wrong with me? You nearly killed me!'”

He said: “It was like a half day at school – you know, the days where you’re allowed to come in wearing your own clothes, and it’s nice outside and you get an ice-cream. Emma’s an amazing friend, but also like a guardian or something.”
Meanwhile, Daryl has been nominated for the BAFTA EE Rising Star Award at the upcoming ceremony alongside the likes of ‘Sex Education’ actresses Emma Mackey and Aimee Lou Wood, and the ‘Pixie’ star explained that he is yet to take the news in, noting that the nod is a far cry from his humble beginnings as a waiter when he first moved to London from his native Ireland.

Nicholas Lyndhurst filming the Frasier revival this week

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicholas Lyndhurst is filming the ‘Frasier’ revival this week.
The ‘Only Fools and Horses’ legend is going to appear in two episodes of the Paramount+ return of the US sitcom – which was a ‘Cheers’ spin-off – as Alan, a friend of Kelsey Grammer’s character Dr Frasier Crane.
The 61-year-old actor – who played Rodney Trotter in ‘Only Fools and Horses’ opposite Sir David Jason as his older brother Del Boy – will film his scenes in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles, and Kelsey, 67, is delighted to have Nicholas onboard after they become friends from starring together in The 2019 West End production of ‘The Man of La Mancha’.
A rep for ‘Frasier’ said: “Frasier Crane in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill. Frasier has re-entered the building!”
The new series will also feature the actress Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, a co-worker of Frasier, and Jack Cutmore-Scott as the psychotherapeutic radio presenter’s son Freddy Crane.
Freddy is described as a mixture of his father and his grandfather, Marty Crane, a role played by John Mahoney, who passed away in 2019 aged 77 from complications from throat cancer.
The offspring of Frasier’s character description reads: “Years ago, Freddy rejected following in his father’s footsteps—dropping out of college to become a fireman—and he’s never looked back until now, when recent troubles have left him with no one to turn to in his life.”
News of the series – which will not involve his ex co-stars David Hyde Pierce, Jane Leeves, and Peri Gilpin – was confirmed last month after speculation dating back to 2021.
Jack – who is best known for his work in the TV series ‘Deception’ – quipped about his casting as reason to break his nearly five year Instagram hiatus.
The 35-year-old actor wrote on the social media platform in January: “‘Frasier’ is coming back!!! That’s got to be worth an Instagram post after almost five years. Also hi! I know it’s been a while, but I hope you are doing well.”

The former ‘EastEnders’ actress – who shot to fame playing Sam Mitchell, the daughter of Peggy Mitchell, in the BBC One soap – is bringing ‘Danniella Uncovered!’ to the stage and in the show she will cover every aspect of her roller coaster career and life.
Danniella intends to talk openly about the cocaine addiction which destroyed her nose, her journey to get clean, her TV successes and the love affairs with men in her life who have included East 17 singer Brian Harvey and ex-husbands Robert Fernandez and George Arnold.
Speaking to former ‘Big Brother’ star and presenter Simon Gross on the red carpet at the gala night of ‘Rise of the Footsoldier: The Extreme Edition’ in London this week, she said: “It’s going to be a one woman show in the West End that I’m writing and producing. There’s going to lots of twists and turns in it. It’s not going to be like a show like ‘The Vagina Monologues’ it’s going to be much deeper.”
Before she begins rehearsals for the theatre show – which is being co-written by Gross – Danniella is travelling to Turkey to have cosmetic surgery on her face.
The 49-year-old actress famously suffered serious damage to her nasal septum due to heavy cocaine use in the 1990s and early 2000s and in recent years she has suffered a collapsed jaw and cheekbone.

Although she is nervous about going under the knife, Danniella is looking forward to having her issues fixed.
She said: “I go away next week for my operation. I can’t wait. It’s going to be a new chapter.
“I’m a bit nervous but I’m excited because it’s been five or six years of waiting now. It’s about time.”

Seth Rogen isn’t a fan of Marvel films

OHMYGOSSIP — Seth Rogen doesn’t like watching Marvel movies.
The 40-year-old actor serves as an executive producer on the popular superhero series ‘The Boys’ but has confessed that he is not a fan of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) blockbusters as he finds them aimed towards children.
In an interview with Total Film magazine, Seth said: “I think Kevin Feige is a brilliant guy, and I think a lot of the filmmakers he’s hired to make these movies are great filmmakers.
“But as someone who doesn’t have children… It is (all) kind of geared toward kids, you know? There are times where I will forget. I’ll watch one of those things, as an adult with no kids, and be like, ‘Oh, this is just not for me.’
‘The Boys’ is a comic book show that appeals to adult audiences but Seth admits that the Amazon programme would “not exist or be interesting” without the influence of the MCU.
‘The Fabelmans’ star said: “Truthfully, without Marvel, ‘The Boys’ wouldn’t exist or be interesting. I’m aware of that.
“I think if it was only Marvel (in the marketplace), it would be bad. But I think it isn’t – clearly.
“An example I’m always is, there’s a point in history where a bunch of filmmakers would have been sitting around, being like, ‘Do you think we’ll ever make a movie that’s not a Western again? Everything’s a Western! Westerns dominate the f****** movies. If it doesn’t have a hat and a gun and a carriage, people aren’t going to go see it anymore.'”
Rogen continued: “The situation, sadly, is that we now have two separate fields: There’s worldwide visual entertainment, and there’s cinema.
“They still overlap from time to time, but that’s becoming increasingly rare. And I fear that the financial dominance of one is being used to marginalise and even belittle the existence of the other.”

Antonio Banderas was gobsmacked to be working with Harrison Ford

OHMYGOSSIP — Antonio Banderas found it “beautiful” working with his idol Harrison Ford.
The 62-year-old star features in the upcoming movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ and was astonished to be collaborating with the legendary actor – who is reprising his role as Indy for the final time in the blockbuster.
Speaking on the Inside Total Film podcast, Antonio said: “It was beautiful to just be close to him.
“Some interviewers today, they say to me, ‘Oh my God, I was seven when ‘Shrek 2′ came out, and so now I’m 27 and interviewing you and I’ve been watching your movies since that time.’
“But the same thing happened to me with Harrison. I remember the first time I saw ‘Indiana Jones’, and I flipped out. So just being there, it was beautiful.”
The Spanish actor stressed that he only has a “very little” part in the movie, which is due to hit cinemas in June.
Banderas said: “My character is very little. He’s not a bad guy, he’s a friend of Indiana, helping at some point in the movie. But it’s not very big.”
The ‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’ star will always take pride in the fact that his name is attached to an ‘Indiana Jones’ film, even if the work was a complicated process as he was performing in the theatre show ‘Company’ in his native Spain during filming.
Antonio – who has daughter Stella, 26, with his ex-wife Melanie Griffith – said: “And at the same time, I’m performing ‘Company’, a musical that I was doing and am still doing – tonight I have to go to the theatre. We have two weeks to go.
“But I was just performing here (in Madrid), and because of the COVID situation, (I was going) back to London, back to Spain, back to London, back to Spain, back to London. I had no resting days at the theatre, because I had to travel. So it was tricky.
“But, just to be there. Just that my name is attached to ‘Indiana Jones’, is something that – I don’t know. If my daughter has a baby someday, I can tell her, ‘Hey, Grandpa did a movie with Indiana Jones.'”

Tattoo talk is a turn-off for Jeremy Paxman

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Paxman keeps getting told he should get a tattoo at the age of 72.
The former ‘University Challenge’ host has been fielding “requests” urging him to get an inking just like his fellow BBC broadcaster David Dimbleby who got a scorpion etched onto his shoulder at the ripe age of 75.
Paxman is quoted by The Sun’s TV Biz column as saying: “I have so far ignored all requests to join David Dimbleby in having a tattoo. How much longer can I hold out?”
The one-time ‘Newsnight’ presenter was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2021 and shared his story in the ITV documentary, ‘Paxman: Putting Up With Parkinson’s’.
Paxman’s condition was first noticed by a doctor who spotted his “Parkinson’s’ mask” whilst watching him on ‘University Challenge’.
Jeremy previously said: “Well it was completely out of the blue. I was having a walk in the square across the way. There was ice around and I had the dog with me, the dog was on a lead. The first thing I knew was when somebody was sitting me on a bench. I’d fallen over and I made a terrible mess of my face.
“I’d gone straight down on my hooter. Which, as you can see, is not small. Cuts all over the place. I was a real mess. And when I was in A and E, a doctor walked in and said, ‘I think you’ve got Parkinson’s.’ And it turned out that he had been watching ‘University Challenge’ and had noticed that my face had acquired what’s known as the ‘Parkinson’s mask’. I wasn’t as effusive and exuberant as normal. I had no idea.”

Danny Dyer to star in new comedy series Mr Bigstuff

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer has signed up to star in a new comedy series – his first role since departing ‘EastEnders’.
The 45-year-old actor – who joined the BBC One soap in 2013 – departed Albert Square in dramatic fashion when his character Mick Carter drowned trying to save ex-wife Linda (Kellie Bright) in the Christmas Day episode of the show.
Now, Dyer has moved on to a comic part after agreeing to play Lee in upcoming Sky series ‘Mr Bigstuff’. He will be reunited with his former ‘Plebs’ co-star Ryan Sampson, who he appeared with on the ITV sitcom a decade ago.
Sampson has penned the Sky series which focuses on brothers Lee and Glen and their turbulent relationship and Dyer can’t wait to get started on the fresh project.
Announcing the project, Dyer said: “Following my nutty exit from ‘EastEnders’ I feel like it’s time to recalibrate and try something a bit new. When I read the role of Lee I was honoured to be asked to develop an exciting character and explore his dysfunctional family relationships. I fell in love with Ryan Sampson while working with him on ‘Plebs’. I can’t wait to get involved with his incredible writing.”
‘Mr Bigstuff’ creator Sampson added: “As a particularly short gay dude, I’m fascinated by masculinity; by all the ways that we’re trying and failing to do it right. Maybe it’s because of some unresolved short-man issues. Maybe it’s because of that one time in PE when Mr Walker told me to ‘stop crying and start being a man, Sampson’. I probably should have gotten therapy, but instead I’ve written a show about it. It’s about fragile masculinity – about men and how f***** up we are. Also about families, and how f***** up they are too. I can’t believe how lucky I am in having Danny Dyer himself joining me for the ride.”
Now he has moved on from ‘EastEnders’, Dyer will also be presenting a game show for Netflix with former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant Ellie Taylor.
‘Cheat’ is described as a “battle of brains, wit… and barefaced lying” and will hit the streaming service in May.

The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant recently opened up about her other favourite telly programmes other than ‘Call The Midwife’ – which is based on the book ‘Call the Midwife: A True story of the East End in the 1950s’, the memoirs of Jennifer Worth – like HBO’s ‘The White Lotus’ and Netflix’s ‘The Crown’.
Helen said: “On TV at the moment I’m watching ‘White Lotus’ and ‘The Crown’, but of course, I should be telling you all to watch Call the Midwife.”
Helen – who has two daughters, Wren, five, and 12-month-old Lark, with her ex co-star Jack Austin – also praised the period drama’s creator Heidi Thomas for using the programme to give “awareness” to cholestasis, a liver condition that impacts 140 pregnant women a year.
She said: “They were very kind last year to cover cholestasis of pregnancy, which is something that I suffered from in both of my pregnancies.
“That wasn’t really something that myself and Heidi [Thomas, the series writer] ever had, but there was obviously an awareness.”
“I think it’s lovely when life mirrors art, and there’s a touch of that.
“I’ve definitely been working hard to spread the word, so it was wonderful having it included in a storyline on mainstream TV.
“Heidi has been with me through both of my pregnancies, everybody [on the show] has.”

“The surgeon did a great job and I do love them, but I think there’s something about having big boobs hat can add to your body because it makes you feel a lot bigger.
“I don’t like wearing low-cut tops now because they’re always there and sometimes it’s OK, and sometimes they’re a bit much, you just have to find clothes that fit them better.”

“We can’t talk about them because it’s too difficult.”
‘Spitting Image’ star Kate replied: “It’s very difficult – the overriding feeling of guilt is a difficult one to explain to people.”
Emily, 33, then began to cry, and said: “Sorry, I don’t know why I’m getting upset I think I’m really tired. Sorry it’s just so uncomfortable.”
Later in the show, Kate admitted she felt she hadn’t protected her daughter.

Also on the BBC documentary, Emily said she has “never been in so much pain” than when she was in her school years and getting more drunk than others at parties and “going off with all the boys”.
She added: “What I really want to get out there is that that girl at school, we all know one, the girl who gets more drunk than everyone at a party and she’s going off with all the boys, there’s another story there.
“She’s not doing that because she wants to, because she likes sex and getting her boobs out, she feels that there is no other way to be at the moment and she’s looking for something in all the wrong places.
“It’s too easy to go ‘s***’ but you shouldn’t have to search for those things when you’re 13 years old. If you are, there’s obviously some pain going on.
“I am speaking from experience, I have never been in so much pain than when I was behaving that way.”
