Kate Hudson ‘bummed out’ to lose Moulin Rouge role to Nicole Kidman

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Hudson lost out on ‘Moulin Rouge’ to Nicole Kidman.
The 43-year-old actress revealed she was “bummed out” when Nicole won the role of tragic heroine Satine, opposite Ewan McGregor as Christian, in Baz Luhrman’s musical but said Nicole, 55, got the part because she “had a relationship with Baz and wanted to do it”.
Speaking on ‘The World’s First Podcast’, she said: “I really wanted that part and it was written at the time for a 19-year-old girl, I believe.
“Then what happened was I was sort of in the auditioning process and then Nicole [Kidman] had a relationship with Baz and wanted to do it. And so of course, it was like, ‘I guess Nicole Kidman’s doing it’.
“He’s so wonderful. And energetically, I just felt very connected to the way he does things. So I was bummed out. Of course, totally got it, because it’s Nicole. It couldn’t be more different… I really wanted that part.”
However, when asked if there were any roles she regretted turning down, Kate was not as forthcoming, explaining that she tried not to have any regrets.
She said: “I try not to think of things like that. You know how that thing like, ‘Oh, one decision could change the trajectory of your life?’ I don’t ever want to think of that way.”
Speaking previously about Nicole’s talent, Baz said: “I mean, yes, we’re great friends and I think in terms of the cast I see some of them more than others, but Nicole and I go way back.
“You know, we live in a world where as an actor you can be relegated at a certain numerical point in your life, and she’s flourished.
“I mean, she’s not only acting in more challenging roles consistently but she’s also producing and creating and I think she’s someone to be admired, but she’s also just a great friend.”

Vanessa Feltz’s daughters trolled on Christmas Day about Ben Ofoedu

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Feltz’s daughters claim they received trolling messages from an anonymous account on Christmas Day (25.12.22) about her ex-partner Ben Ofoedu allegedly cheating.
The 60-year-old broadcasting legend recently confirmed she and Ben, 50, have split after 16 years together and Vanessa’s daughter Allegra Kurer revealed she and her sister Saskia received nasty messages about Ben over the festive period.
She told The Sun newspaper: “It was on Christmas Day, of all days. We were all together as a family, but Ben was away in pantomime, when the messages appeared via Instagram.
“Until that moment we were having a really lovely time, the children were having a lovely time, so for us to just receive that via a social media account was the most dreadful shock.
“It was anonymous, and of course it revealed lots that we didn’t know — but it was also very abusive and extremely hurtful.
“But then you have to think ‘Gosh do we disrupt Christmas lunch, do we wait til Christmas is finished?’
“We don’t keep things from each other in our family and so we knew we had to share that with mum.
“It was just absolutely ghastly, not to mention the nature of the specific messages, which were so horrid. Vile, abusive. Extremely upsetting.”
Meanwhile, following the split, Vanessa is said to be at the top of ‘Celebs Go Dating’ bosses’ “wish list” for the next series.
A TV insider previously explained: “Vanessa is top of the wish list when it comes to casting.
“Talks with potential cast mates are going to begin next month and producers are willing to throw big money Vanessa’s way in a bid to get her to sign on the dotted line.”
Bosses are said to be hoping Vanessa can find her “happy ending” if she signs up for the show.
The insider added: “She’s been so brave and dignified with how she has dealt with this break-up, and the nation absolutely love her.
“Everyone wants to see her find her happy ending, she really deserves it, so bosses are confident it would be a real ratings winner if she agreed to get on board.
“It remains to be seen whether Vanessa will take them up on their offer but they are going to pull out all the stops, so watch this space.”

Dave Bautista: Dune 2 will be more amped up

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista says that ‘Dune 2’ will be “more amped up” than the first movie.
The 54-year-old actor starred as antagonist Glossu Rabban Harkonnen in the multi-Academy Award winning 2021 movie – which is the first part of a two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert- and explained that he “loved” with director Denis Villeneuve as he teased that the upcoming sequel has given him a “much bigger” onscreen role than the first.
He said: “You’ve heard me talk about the first film, we’ve talked about the first film. It was that times 100 because it was Rabban amped up, and my part is much bigger on this. I got to spend much more time with Denny, which I crave for because I love working with Denny. And Denny, again, he just brings out the best in me and this was such an amazing experience. Before I left the film – [we were] talking about something else and I’m not gonna say until it actually happens, but he knows that my dream is to work with him as a number one because I really think that Denny will show me how good I can be.”
The ‘Knock at the Cabin’ star went on to add that the first film served as “an introduction” and that the sequel is packed with “absurd humour.”
He told Collider: “This is so amped up from the first film. The first film was just an introduction to what this film is. There’s just so much going on, it’s so much more cutthroat and political and intense. And there are moments of levity where [there are] some funny moments, and they’re kind of absurd humor, but there are those moments. So it’s just so much more amped up than the first film.”
‘Dune 2’ is set for release on November 3.

‘House of Sims’ -featuring the 41-year-old ‘TOWIE’ star, her two sisters Frankie, 27, Demi, 26, and brother Charlie, 30 – has already netted the family £500,000 before it has even aired.

“They’ve got loads of cash to splash on talent, and understood the family are bringing their own fanbase along with them from years of being on ‘TOWIE’.
“It was a no brainer to lock them down for more seasons.”
The family have relocated to America for the show and are loving it, despite the move being a “huge adjustment”.
The insider added: “The girls are also loving life in LA and are mingling with US stars, but it is a huge adjustment and there’s been loads of drama to keep viewers entertained.

“The pair of them are already looking at beauty schools for Maddy over there, and looking at how they can make the full-time move happen.
“At the moment, Chloe hasn’t decided whether she will sell her place in Essex or hang on to it. it’s all still up in the air but she is dead set on making the US her base.”

Dancing On Ice desperate to sign Katie Price

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price is top of the wishlist for ‘Dancing On Ice’.
Dan Whiston, associate creative director on the programme, revealed he is desperate to recruit the former glamour model for the show and thinks she would be the perfect contestant.
He told Metro.co.uk: “I think Katie Price would be amazing! I really do.
“What’s brilliant about someone like Katie is that she’s very vocal, she’s very funny, and I think she’d just be a really, really interesting person. That’s who I’d like to have on the show next.
“Can you imagine all those people on social media? They wouldn’t know what had hit them!
“She would absolutely embrace her body as well and just want to push the boundaries right out there.”
And, Dan doesn’t even care if Katie can skate.
He said: “A lot of it is in the celebrities’ hands and we go in with a really open mind.
“My little saying is always, aim for the stars and settle for the ceiling. We always push for as much as we can, but we have to be very safe as well, but a lot of it is created on the basics.
“If that celebrity has worked really hard to get their basics, which is forward skating, backwards skating, and some basic steps, we’ve got a really good canvas then to build our choreography on, we can do tricks, we can do harder steps, faster moves… but if that celebrity hasn’t done that foundation course of 30 hours with a coach, before we even start choreographing, it does show later.
“As much work and effort and dedication they put in, they will get the result later on.”

And, in 2019, he shared that the script had been completed.

Love Island’s Ekin Su and Davide: We are not a fake couple!

OHMYGOSSIP — Davide Sanclimenti has insisted that his relationship with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is “not fake.”
The 27-year-old TV star found love with actress Ekin, 28, when they met on the set of and eventually won hit ITV2 reality dating show ‘Love Island’ in 2022 but almost a year on from their victory has slammed the notion that their relationship could be a “showmance” because of how little they post on social media.
He said: “I read a comment saying we were fake because we barely post on social media together. But I’m just not a social media person. I don’t blame people – they only know us for what they have seen. But those who have seen us in real life cannot believe anyone would think we are fake. Luca [Bish, runner-up on ‘Love Island’] mentioned how we were such a lovely couple. And [fellow Islander] Dami Hope said the same. That’s why we don’t care about those kinds of comments.”
Meanwhile, former ‘Dancing on Ice’ contestant Ekin explained that their relationship is not “for the world” and compared their stance on social media to that of other celebrity couples such as former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Michelle Keegan – who has been married to ‘TOWIE’ star Mark Wright since 2015 – and fellow ‘Love Island’ stars Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who welcomed their baby girl Bambi together towards the end of last month after meeting on the show in 2019.
In the joint interview, she told The Sun on Sunday’s Fabulous Magazine: “We don’t want everyone to know everything. Our relationship is between two people, not the world. We don’t need to prove to anyone that we are real. I believe the less you show on social media, the healthier the relationship is. Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright or Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury don’t post 24/7 about what they’re doing, yet they still have strong relationships. When you reveal everything to the public, that’s when things get messy!”

Chicago director reveals who he would cast in the roles of Roxie and Velma today…

OHMYGOSSIP — Rob Marshall would cast Emma Stone as Roxie Hart in ‘Chicago’ if he were making the movie today.
The 62-year-old director was at the helm of the 2002 Oscar-winning musical – which starred Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renee Zellweger as two women in prison who gain celebrity status over their crimes – but explained that these days he would pick the ‘Cruella’ star to take on the role made famous by the ‘Bridget Jones’ Diary’ actress.
He said: “I love Emma Stone. I’ve worked with her on stage in ‘Cabaret’ on Broadway. Immediately, I think Roxie would somehow be hers, I think. I just feel like she could play into the vulnerability. It’s not easy, actually, to find actors who are truly vulnerable, that can project vulnerability the way Renée Zellweger was able to, or the way Shirley MacLaine was able to.
“She’s a fragile character that actually kind of turns during the piece to become a ferocious person, you know, aggressive person, and then back down again. It’s all about the rise and fall of fame. So, Emma comes to mind.”
Rob – who also directed the 2014 Disney adaptation of Broadway hit ‘Into the Woods’ as well as the 1999 TV remake of ‘Annie’ with Kathy Bates and most recently helmed the live-action version of ‘The Little Mermaid’ with Halle Bailey – went on to muse that when it comes to recasting the other female lead as he recalled that it was “unusual” to even do a cinematic movie musical at the time he took on ‘Chicago.’
He told Collider: “Velma, I haven’t really thought… I mean, Velma is a tricky one because you really have to be a killer dancer for that too. [There are] some fabulous actors out there. Let me think about that one. I’m sure it would be somebody fantastic. You know what? I think we could cast it now because I was saying before, actually, that we were sort of the resurgence of musicals, live-action musicals. [It was] very unusual at that time to do a musical. All the animated musicals were happening, but no one wanted to hear people sing in real life. So I feel like so many musicals have since happened, right? And so now [there are] more musicals, more people are singing in film, more people are dancing in film.”

Italian horror maestro Dario Argento finds movie inspiration in his own nightmares

OHMYGOSSIP — Dario Argento takes inspiration for his horror films from his own nightmares.
The 82-year-old Italian maestro is regarded as one of the most influential directors in the genre over the course of his six decade spanning career.
Argento explained that after being at the helm of classics such as ‘Suspiria’, ‘Inferno’, ‘The Bird With the Crystal Plumage’ and ‘Deep Red’, making movies is as “natural” to him as breathing.
He said: “It felt like not even a month had passed. I’ve made so many films it is as natural to me as eating or breathing. So I draw my inspiration from my nightmares and my dreams, that is what I need for my inspiration but others must be inspired by me. That’s a normal thing. It’s a bit like when I go to a museum and I see a picture and I get inspired by that. So art is something that is interchangeable.”
Dario most recently completed work on ‘Dark Glasses’ for streaming service Shudder – which stars newcomer Xinyu Zhang as a little boy who helps a blind young woman track down a serial killer and is his first feature since 2012’s ‘Dracula 3D’ – and explained he was “very lucky” to find such an intelligent performer to take on the role.
He told HeyUGuys: “I was extremely lucky to find this boy because he is a very intelligent boy but he had never acted before but he had seen a lot of films so he knew how to act and I just told him what to do and he did it.”
Meanwhile, the soundtrack to the new horror was supposed to be provided by 1990s French duo Daft Punk until their manager called Dario to inform him that they were no longer working and he had to find someone else.
He said: “With Daft Punk, everything was already discussed and almost finalized but at that point, the manager called me and told me that they didn’t exist any longer I had to look to someone else to do the music for the movie, the soundtrack. So I looked and I found Arnaud Bottini and he is a wonderful musician and he did that wonderful electronic soundtrack, so everything worked out.”

EastEnders star Jessie Wallace is engaged!

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie Wallace is engaged.
The 51-year-old actress – who is best known for having starred as Kat Slater on the BBC soap opera ‘Eastenders’ since 2000 – started dating Justin Gallwey, 50, last year and the pair is reportedly set to tie the knot.
In a picture obtained by The Sun on Sunday newspaper, Jessie is seen sporting a gold ring on her engagement finger as she exits a garage carrying a bottle of wine.
The star is yet to speak publicly on the supposed engagement herself but Justin – who is thought to have met Jessie when they were teenagers – previously hinted that an engagement could be on the cards when the actress was seen modelling costume jewellery on her social media.
He commented: “See I told you you would have a ring on that finger by the end of the year!”
Just last year, Jessie was issued a “clear warning” by ‘EastEnders’ bosses after she was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and drunk and disorderly conduct and shortly after, Justin spoke out in support of his significant other as he insisted everything was “good” between them.
He said: “‘I have made my apologies and so has Jessie. I just want to protect her. Everything is happy and things are good! Our relationship is fine. We are very close.”
Following the alleged incident, Jessie – who sparked rumours she may have already tied the knot with Justin when she casually referred to him as “My hubby” on Instagram but later dismissed the rumours – is said to have expressed “deep regret” over her actions and is aware that her behaviour was “unacceptable.”
Senior bosses have spoken to Jessie Wallace about the incident and issued a clear warning that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable. Jessie has expressed her deep regret

‘I betrayed her!’ Ben Ofoedu ADMITS he cheated on Vanessa Feltz

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Ofoedu has admitted he cheated on Vanessa Feltz.
The 50-year-old pop star had been in a relationship with broadcasting legend Vanessa, 60, for 16 years when the pair called it quits last week after she alleged he had been unfaithful with several different women and now admits he had “betrayed the love of his life.”
He said: “I was wrong …I betrayed the love of my life! I’ve broken her trust. She gave me another chance. I’ve gone and destroyed that. So many people have been hurt, not just Vanessa. I was so close to her grandchildren, her daughters, their husbands. We’re a close knit family. My family have been appalled by it as well. There’s been a lot of pain!”
The Phats and Small star is said to have slept with at least two women last year and was also unfaithful in 2015 and added that the last time he spoke to Vanessa – who also Allegra, 37, and Saskia, 34, with ex Michael Kurer – he insisted that he loved her but she immediately blocked him on all of her social media and he has not heard from her since.
He told The Sunday Mirror newspaper: “My last conversation with Vanessa was me saying how wonderful she was, how she was the love of my life and saying how much I loved her and that I’m so, so sorry it’s happened. ‘Please find it in your heart to forgive me’. Those were the last words I said. Then she blocked me on her phone, on social media and never answered my emails.
I started off by sending her an email every day saying how sorry I was. She hasn’t responded. It’s been a bit scorched earth really.”

Peyton Reed reveals if there will be another Ant-Man movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Peyton Reed is “unsure” if there will be another ‘Ant-Man’ movie.
The 58-year-old director is at the helm of the ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” – which is the third instalment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series and stars Paul Rudd in the title role – but is very “superstitious” about saying too much and “cannot talk” about the future of the franchise until the new movie is released.
He said: ” I’m a little superstitious, so it’s hard to talk about the possibility of another one until the movie comes out. But I have loved working at Marvel and, again, there are other characters in that universe I love who maybe haven’t been introduced into the MCU yet.”
However, the ‘Bring It On’ director – who also took the reins on ‘Ant-Man’ in 2015 as well as its 2918 sequel ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ – did go on to note that he would leave the “door open for anything” because he has loved working for the MCU for almost a decade.
He told ScreenRant: “Listen, I would leave the door open for anything. I love working with Kevin and Stephen Broussard and everybody at Marvel. With Ant-Man, we’ve been doing this together for eight or nine years at this point, and it’s a family. We’ve kind of all grown up with these heroes and put them out there, and it’s really gratifying.
“That was an exhilarating thing, to have all these artists bring you this incredible artwork. I’m sure that, along the way, there were characters and environments that we just didn’t have room for.”
‘Ant-Man: Quantumania’ is set to be released in cinemas on February 17.

Julianne Moore: I need to be surprised by a script

OHMYGOSSIP — Julianne Moore needs to be “surprised” as an actress.
The 62-year-old star has been active in Hollywood since the 1990s and is known for her roles in ‘Boogie Nights’ and ‘Magnolia’ ad explained that she is often sent scripts to read that feature parts which are similar to those she has played before but admitted that her latest project ‘Sharper’ – which follows a young man who exacts revenge on his family for not accepting him and cons other rich people to gain the wealth he desires – features a twist she “didn’t see coming.”
She said; “A lot of the time I get told, ‘I thought of you for this script,’ and they’ll send it to you, but they thought of me because of something I just did. I want to be surprised,” says the actor, “Usually, having been doing this for as long as I’ve been doing it, you can get ahead of the screenplay, and I see what’s being set up. But when I read it, I really didn’t see it… coming.”
The Academy Award-winning actress – who stars alongside Sebastian Stan and John Lithgow in the Apple+ movie – went on to add that she was interested in how the characters related to one another in the movie and was fascinated by the “deep pleasure” that she thinks must be associated with being in a cult.
She told Total Film: “I’m interested in behaviour, in how people communicate with each other. Why do people get involved in a cult or involved in these schemes? There has to be a deep sense of pleasure. Let’s face it, there are lots of easier ways to live than the way these characters choose. There has to be an element of addiction to the thrill.”
‘Sharper’ streams on Apple+ from February 17
