Cate Blanchett’s Tár preparation

OHMYGOSSIP — Cate Blanchett impressed director Todd Field with her preparation for Tár.
The 53-year-old actress has been nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of renowned conductor Lydia Tár, who has been accused of sexual abuse, in the psychological drama and Todd revealed how invested Cate was in the movie from the very beginning.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, he said: “The takeaway was coming into contact with one of the great minds, who it was exciting to talk about story with. When she looks at a piece of material, perhaps partly because of her theatrical background, she looks at the whole thing.
“She’s not just focused on Tár. She wants to understand all of it; that was tremendous. Cate literally showed up on the first day of rehearsal and she [knew] the entire script as if it was ‘Hamlet’. I’m not just talking about the dialogue, but also the stage directions … and learned German and how to play Bach on the piano and how to conduct and how to have an American dialect.”
When asked how much guidance he gave Blanchett, Filed joked: “Hmm, how much credit should I take? Are you taping this? She’s very active on the internet.”
He added: “At the end of the day, a director and an actor are people, and they’re talking. They’re trying to be prepared enough but also nimble enough and be at the pitch of perception to be able to make very tiny adjustments with each other. That’s ongoing and it starts early on. She’s a very good dance partner. Let’s put it that way.”

Katie Price heartbroken over derogatory messages from police about Harvey

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price says she feels “heartbroken” after Met Police officers allegedly sent “derogatory” messages about her son Harvey on WhatsApp.
Harvey, 20, is autistic and suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome – a genetic condition resulting in obesity – and Septo-Optic Dysplasia, which affects sight and the development of the brain and police officers are set to face a misconduct hearing over the messages which were allegedly sent between 2016 and 2018.
Katie, 44, told The Sunday Mirror: “These are the people who are supposed to be protecting us, people we are supposed to trust.
“It’s pure betrayal, I was in shock at first, then I felt sick, heartbroken and angry. It’s not enough for these people to just lose their jobs if found guilty, if this has happened to a vulnerable adult like Harvey, it will be happening to others.
“I can stick up for myself. When it comes to my son, it’s different. Harvey is so vulnerable, so innocent.
“He doesn’t have a bad bone in his body – all he wants is to love people and be happy. He doesn’t deserve this from anyone.”
Katie revealed that Harvey isn’t aware of the messages but his siblings have been left “in tears” by the situation.
She said: “I’m just glad he doesn’t know this has happened, because if he did, it could do him serious harm.
“The impact has already ricocheted through our whole family. My children Jett and Bunny, who are very protective of Harvey, have both been in tears and Princess and Junior are furious about it.
“They are old enough now that you can’t keep things from them, because they are asked about it at school.”

James Arthur warns people to ‘p*** off’ after Masked Singer speculation

OHMYGOSSIP — James Arthur wants everyone to leave him alone now that ‘The Masked Singer’ is over.
People had speculated that the former ‘X Factor’ star was Rhino on the show but after he was revealed to be Charlie Simpson and crowned as winner on Saturday (18.02.23), James implored people to “p*** off” and leave him alone.
He wrote on Twitter: “Charlie Simpson I’d know that voice anywhere. One of the best out there #maskedsinger now everyone p*** off and leave me alone.”
Meanwhile, Busted star Charlie, 37, admitted he never expected to win.
He said: “I never expected to win, to be honest, but I just wanted to give it my best. I had no idea who I was actually up against and didn’t really hear the other people sing as we were kept away from each other during filming.
“I was very happy when they called my name. I have never been in a singing competition before so I found the whole thing quite surreal.
“It was sad to say goodbye to Rhino. You grow quite attached to your character during the show as you spend so much time with the costume.
“Sometimes I’d just be on my own in the dressing room waiting for my performance slot and have his face just staring back at me.”
Charlie beat off strong competition from former All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, who was revealed to be Fawn and Kaiser Chiefs front-man Ricky Wilson, who was unmasked as Phoenix.

Alex Jones claims complaints about Welsh accent were racist

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Jones claims complaints about her Welsh accent are “racist”.
The 45-year-old TV host has presented ‘The One Show’ since 2010 but admitted she was left upset after some viewers complained about her accent.
She told The Times: “There was a bit of a backlash.
“My boss at the time, and he was a lovely man, he would roll his eyes and say ‘Oh Jones, can’t you just say fruit rather than frewt [because] I get emails complaining. Can’t you just do it this way?’
“I was really surprised because we talk so much about people being racist. What is that if not racist?
“It is just a different sound to your voice, the way you form words is slightly different.
“Regional accents then were relatively new, so this was the first time apart from Huw Edwards that they had heard a Welsh accent.”
Alex – who has three children with her husband Charlie Thomson – added that she refused to dilute her accent.
She said: “It did affect my confidence’, but I said at the time ‘no, they will either get used to it or they wont’ and of course they did.
“I did not feel that was necessary, no more than Ronan [Keating] who sits next to me will soften his Irish accent.
“Children are like sponges. They have grown up completely bilingual so all the information is there. They do not speak to their friends in Welsh; but it is there when needed. And for me, that is good enough.”

Former Hollyoaks star Jazmine Franks is pregnant with her first child

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Hollyoaks’ star Jazmine Franks is expecting her first child.
The 30-year-old actress – who played Esther Bloom on the Channel 4 soap from 2011 to 2018 – has announced she and her personal trainer partner Danny Potter are set to become parents this summer.
She captioned two pictures of her showcasing her bonny baby bump in a black jumpsuit and a copy of her baby scan on her Instagram: “Here’s to the biggest adventure yet.
“Summer 2023 is set to be a wild one! Can’t wait to cause mayhem with a mini Franks-Potter.”
Since leaving ‘Hollyoaks’, Jazmine has followed in her boyfriend’s footsteps by training as a personal trainer and has transformed her lifestyle.
She revealed recently: “There’s 6 months and a 8kg difference between these pictures so it’s been a very slow process but I wanted to make sure I still had a social life.
“I still enjoy desserts and I still enjoy a gin.
“Having time on my side has played a massive part, leaving Hollyoaks gave me the freedom to focus on me…
“I feel really good at the moment, I’ve learnt to say no to the food I don’t actually need to eat, to the events I don’t actually want to go to and to the things I don’t actually want to.”
Jazmine added: “I’ve had a bit of time out and I feel wonderful for it. Also can we have a little giggle at the fact I’m sat with pizza in my hand in the photo on the left.”
In 2020, the actress admitted she was keen to return to acting, but with auditions “few and far between”, she started working at a homeless charity to fill her time.
Writing in new! magazine, she explained: “Leaving ‘Hollyoaks’ in 2018 after eight years was a huge turning point for me. I went from being busy and constantly in demand to everything suddenly stopping.
“With auditions few and far between, I decided to throw myself into working full-time at the homeless charity where I’d been volunteering for a couple of years.
“I’d love to start acting again – it’s my passion and I miss it. I’ve started taking classes again. I’ve joined WeAudition, where casting directors give open talks and I’ve told my agent that I’d really like more auditions.”

Mark Wright: I was really nervous to host my own game show, it was like Love Island!

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wright was “really nervous” to host his own game show.
The 36-year-old reality star is best known for his time on ‘The Only Way is Essex’ but is now fronting the UK version of ‘ The Challenge’ – which was filmed in Argentina last year and will feature the likes of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star AJ Pritchard and ‘Made In Chelsea’ cast member Tristan Phipps as they take part in stunt-heavy, action-packed adventures – almost 25 years after the competition first aired in the US and admitted that taking on the hosting job was proof that all his “hard work” since leaving the reality show has “paid off.”
He said: “It was a big deal for me being the host of a show starring 16 reality stars or celebs. It’s proof that all the hard work, from hosting children’s shows to moving to America and putting in the ground work, is paying off. I was really nervous to walk out and see what their response was, especially when they have all come from the same place I did — reality TV.”
Mark – who has been married to former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Michelle Keegan since 2015 – went on to claim that the premise of the show became “completely different at night” when contestants tried to hook up with one another, as he joked that he felt like he was the host of ITV2 reality dating series ‘Love Island.’
He told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz Column: “I had to channel my inner match-maker at times because it became a little ‘Love Island’. When they weren’t winning challenges, there were a few of the contestants that were trying to win each other over. After dark, I genuinely thought I was hosting a different show.
“Some of the contestants forgot the cameras were still running, so a few of them will be left a little red in the face — I ended up being an agony aunt. If you put a bunch of really hot people together, especially if they’re single, it’s going to happen.”
‘The Challenge’ airs on Channel 5 from February 20 but is available to stream now on Paramount+.

‘I still have to ask quietly’ for help: Michael Douglas on getting to grips with the Marvel Cinematic Universe

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Douglas still “asks quietly” about stuff he has no idea about in the Marvel universe.
The Hollywood actor didn’t grow up reading comic books and had no idea about the MCU until he became Hank Pym in 2015’s ‘Ant-Man’, and while promoting the latest instalment, ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, Douglas confessed that despite being sent comics to “get some idea” about the fantasy world, he still has to get some guidance so he doesn’t feel like an “idiot”.
The 78-year-old star had also never done green screen before making his Marvel debut but finds it much easier now.
He said: “What’s unique here is you don’t see the material until you’re almost arriving for your rehearsals and this is the Marvel System or the Marvel Way. So you’re a little at loose ends.
“Everything’s a little easier after the first one because I’d never done a green screen movie before and now you have a little idea of what’s going to happen.
“The other nice part about doing a second or third is you know your co-stars, so you have a much more comfortable [time]. It’s not like having to introduce yourself for the first time to people.”
The ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘What If…?’ actor added in an interview with Digital Spy: “On the first one I knew nothing. I was not a comic book addict when I was a kid.
“I didn’t know the Marvel world, so they sent me a whole slew of the comics to get some idea.
“I didn’t have any idea about [the universe] and even now I still have to ask quietly because I don’t want to be an idiot. Now it’s getting very complicated because Kang, our ultimate villain in ‘Ant-Man: Quantumania’, is going to be in a lot of the different Marvel films.”

Peyton Reed reveals the future of the Ant-Man series

OHMYGOSSIP — Peyton Reed is uncertain about the future of the ‘Ant-Man’ movies.
The 58-year-old director has been at the helm of the three MCU movies starring Paul Rudd at the titular superhero and always gets “suspicious” when thinking about what lies ahead,
He said: ” It’s interesting because, you know, I’m superstitious about this stuff, right? I mean, when we were doing the first Ant-Man there was certainly no guarantee we were going to get to make a second one. And even after the second one, there was no guarantee. When we finally announced that, “Okay, we’re gonna make Quantumania, we’re gonna get to do this,” it was marshaling all the forces onto that because we knew if we’re gonna get to do a third one, it’s gotta be something altogether different. We gotta show the audience something different.
“For me, it was the Quantum Realm, of being able to create that whole world, worlds within worlds, and answer those questions. What the hell was Janet Van Dyne doing down there for 30 years? And also, to kick off Phase 5, to introduce Kang the Conqueror with Jonathan [Majors].”
The ‘Bring It On’ director went on to add that he is unsure about the future of the franchise now that the trilogy is completed with the release of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ and wishes to “play in lots of different sandboxes.”
He told Collider: “So I was focused on that thing. Now that the trilogy is done, who knows? Again, years ago – you and I have talked about this before – I developed ‘Fantastic Four’ like 20 years ago. I channeled a lot of my ‘Fantastic Four’ love into the ‘Ant-Man’ world, and specifically into ‘Quantumania’. You know, it’s no mistake that both are kind of dysfunctional families of superheroes, and in Fantastic four they may go into the Negative Zone, we went to the Quantum Realm. I really scratched that itch with these movies. I want to play in a lot of different sandboxes. I would never say no to a future doing stuff at Marvel. I mean, I’ve loved my time at Marvel, I love the people in Marvel, and I love what they’ve been able to do. It’s strange because 2014 is not that long ago, but the idea of this interconnected universe of movies is a relatively new idea. ”

Charlotte Dawson ‘can’t believe’ she is pregnant after suffering miscarriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Dawson “can’t believe” she is pregnant after suffering a miscarriage.
The 30-year-old reality star and her fiance Matt Sarsfield, 31 already have two-year-old son Noah together but are expecting another little one after she tragically suffered a miscarriage at 10 weeks in April last year.
She told OK! Magazine: “I can’t believe it’s actually happened again and Noah is going to be a big brother. Obviously, this one is a rainbow baby. I feel very blessed and very happy that I’ve managed to get pregnant again. We were absolutely heartbroken about the miscarriage last year. It came as a shock when I found out last April. It was like we’d just come to the realisation that we were having a baby and I lost it at 10 weeks.
“I wanted to scream and tell everybody, ring my mum and all my friends, but we couldn’t really get excited enough because of what happened last time.”
The brunette beauty trusts that her oldest will be a “caring” force in the bundle of joy’s life but might need time to “get used to it”.
Charlotte said: “I think he’ll be a very good big brother. He’s very caring. He might be a little bit jealous at first but he’ll get used to it.”
The former ‘Ex on the Beach’ star also added that she “really” wants a daughter so she can have a “mini-me” before joking that it would be an “absolute nightmare” to have a tiny version of herself and is determined to find out so she can plan things.
Charlotte said: “I really want a girl because I want a mini-me. I mean, it’d be an absolute nightmare if it was a mini-me, but I would absolutely love one. I just want a little best friend. Obviously, Noah is my bestest friend in the world. Boys are amazing because they’re proper mummy boys and he’s a mummy’s boy to the next level. Oh my God, 100 per cent! I’m not one of those people who can’t find out. I don’t know how people do that. I need to know what’s going on, I need to plan the nursery, I need to plan outfits.”

The 39-year-old star has been married to fellow former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Aljaž, 33, and revealed that the pair had decided to turn to the NHS for In vitro fertilisation treatment after struggling to conceive naturally for some time.
She said: “For the past couple of years we hadn’t been using protection but nothing was happening, so we thought IVF was the next best thing for us to do. I turn 40 later this year and the NHS offers really good services to women under 40. The doctor said that as soon as I got my period we would start injections, but my period never came!”
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two’ host went on to add that IVF treatment can be “really strenuous” but recalled “crying and hugging” with her husband as they celebrated the “miraculous” news.
She told HELLO Magazine: “I know that IVF can be really strenuous on a woman’s body and there is no guarantee it will work, so to know that this little miracle just came from a wonderful night we had together is amazing. I think the baby decided to make Mum and Dad panic a bit before saying, ‘ok, fine, I’m coming up now!’ I called the doctor and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, I think I’m pregnant, what do I do?’ And she said, ‘First of all, calm down, and second of all, congratulations. What has Aljaž said?’ And I said, ‘I haven’t told him; he’s in the living room!’ [But when I did], we cried and hugged; it was quite a moment..”

She said: “Everything. Obviously that show has its pros and cons; I don’t want anyone to be hurt by doing any kind of TV. But at the same time, that moment when they played ‘Lost Without’ You did change my life. It gave a song I’d written three years before an opportunity to have a life of its own and it connected me with so many people. It was a lightning bolt moment. We were in America doing a festival when that took effect. Someone sent me the number nine and I was like, has it sold nine copies? But it was nine in the charts! I didn’t think that was possible. And now it’s got more than 300 million streams on Spotify.”

He’s a really talented singer-songwriter. He’s been getting into DJing a bit, too. I think DJ Daddy Pig would be amazing. Jessie Wallace confirms engagement!

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie Wallace has confirmed that she is engaged.
The 51-year-old actress – who is best known for having starred as Kat Slater on the BBC soap opera ‘Eastenders’ since 2000 – started dating carpenter Justin Gallwey, 50, last year and the pair were rumoured to be set to tie the knot after she was spotted wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring earlier this month but took to social media on Sunday (19.02.23) to confirm the news herself.
Alongside a snap of herself and Justin enjoying a day out, she wrote on Instagram: “My fiancé and moi. [heart emoji].”
Several famous faces rushed to congratulate Jessie on the news, with former ‘EastEnders’ co-star Tamzin Outhwaite writing: “congratulations darling. Happy days ahead which you deserve”(sic) whilst Lacey Turner – who plays Stacey Slater on the BBC soap opera – simply left two heart emojis in the comments section.
‘Emmerdale’ actress Lisa Riley wrote “CONGRATULATIONS great news [yellow heart emoji]” and soap script writer Daran Little said: “Oh I love this!!!! Look at the gorgeous happy face! And yours ain’t so bad either!”(sic)
Justin – who is thought to have met Jessie when they were teenagers – previously hinted that an engagement could be on the cards when the actress was seen modelling costume jewellery on her social media.
He commented: “See I told you you would have a ring on that finger by the end of the year!”
Just last year, Jessie was issued a “clear warning” by ‘EastEnders’ bosses after she was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and drunk and disorderly conduct and shortly after, Justin spoke out in support of his significant other as he insisted everything was “good” between them.
He said: “‘I have made my apologies and so has Jessie. I just want to protect her. Everything is happy and things are good! Our relationship is fine. We are very close.”
Following the alleged incident, Jessie – who sparked rumours she may have already tied the knot with Justin when she casually referred to him as “My hubby” on Instagram but later dismissed the rumours – is said to have expressed “deep regret” over her actions and is aware that her behaviour was “unacceptable.”

Charlie Simpson: My kids knew it was me all along on The Maked Singer!

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Simpson’s sons could tell it was him from the start on ‘The Masked Singer.’
The ‘Busted’ singer, 37, – who has been married to Anna Barnard since 2014 and has Arlo, seven, as well as four-year-old Jago with her – had been taking part in the ITV1 competition as Rhino and eventually won the whole series on Saturday (18.02.23) after managing to conceal his identity over the course of several episodes but explained that his sons were confused because they would watch the pre-recorded show together as a family and they couldn’t understand how he was “in the telly” and at home at the same time.
He said: “I didn’t tell anyone. Well, I told my wife and then I did try and keep it a secret but from the first moment that we watched it as a family, my two boys were like ‘That’s you, daddy!’
“They found it weird though, the reason that they questioned it is that because it was filmed a while ago and isn’t actually live, they couldn’t figure out how I was watching it with them and I was in the TV at the same time, that flummoxed them a bit. But throughout the whole time, they kept saying ‘I know it’s you, daddy!'”
The ‘Year 3000’ hitmaker – who beat Kaiser Chiefs star Ricky Wilson to the title of winner after he was unmasked as Phoenix during the final – went on to add that he chose his Rhino costume as a tribute to his wife, who was born in Kenya before admitting that he was “absolutely terrified” at the thought of being on the show.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, he added: “We did get to choose our costumes. They had a few sketches of ideas and I saw the rhino. I was like ‘Oh that’s awesome’ because my wife grew up in Kenya and I’ve been on some amazing safaris with her and the kids and stuff so I thought it would be a nice way to represent them. It’s an awesome outfit, to be fair. The whole point of the show is to be as off the wall as possible, I think that really works. But I was absolutely terrified! It was so alien being in this costume singing songs that I didn’t know so well.”
