Keanu Reeves trained for three months for John Wick: Chapter 4

OHMYGOSSIP — Keanu Reeves spent three months training for the action scenes in ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’.
The 58-year-old actor is reprising his role as the titular assassin in the upcoming film and revealed that movie bosses have upped the ante with the stunts on the new project.
In a new featurette for the film, which is set to be released next month, Keanu said: “It’s been about 12 weeks of training. It’s new levels of action.
“You know, nun-chucks, which was challenging… ‘John Wick’ action asks just a little bit more. And you see the effort and commitment from the team.”
Keanu is known for performing his own stunts and says that the new movie is the “hardest physical” role in his career on the big screen.
‘The Matrix’ actor said: “‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ has the most action of any of the (‘John Wick’) films, which is saying a lot. And it’s more by a good margin.
“It’s a big show… ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ was the hardest physical role I’ve ever had in my career so far. They really trained me up to be able to have what we call the toolbox.”
Keanu previously revealed that there is more driving involved in the latest ‘John Wick’ film and recalled a challenging car stunt at the historic Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
He said: “We took the car-driving to the next level, which I really enjoy.
“There’s 180s, forward-into-reverse 180s, reverse-into-forward 270s, drifting… So it was really fun to get a chance to learn those skills, and to play.”

The ‘Coronation Street’ star was forced to hand over jewellery at her West London home last year when David Wilson, 57, raised a metal bar in a striking motion, during which she had “real fears for her life”, Southwark Crown Court has heard.

Joel Dommett fed his wife a bit of his thumbnail after chopping incident

OHMYGOSSIP — Joel Dommett fed his wife Hannah Cooper a bit of his thumbnail.
The ‘Masked Singer’ presenter chopped a bit of his thumbnail off while he was preparing some chives for a romantic dinner for him and his ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ co-star, but he couldn’t find the nail and let fate take its course as to which of the couple ended up eating it.
The 37-year-old comedian told the Metro newspaper’s Guilty Pleasures column: “‘I cut off my thumbnail while chopping chives. It went into the thing of chives, and I couldn’t find the nail.
“I was like, ‘OK, it’s in the cooker now and there’s a 50 per cent chance it’s going to be eaten by me, and 50 per cent it’s going to be eaten by her.
“We ate, and I was watching her the whole time. She got the nail and said, ‘What’s that?!’ I was like, ‘Oh no, I’m so sorry!’ ”
Joel recently shared how “glad” he is to have been given the thumbs up to host the rebooted ‘Survivor’ – which initially ran on ITV in 2001, and saw strangers stranded on a tropical island – and feels “blessed” to be involved in the BBC reimagining.
He said: “I’m glad they’ve trusted me with it. I don’t say this lightly, and I wouldn’t say it ever again, but put it in print, I’m hashtag blessed.
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star – who entered the Australian jungle in 2016 and was the runner-up to the eventual winner Scarlett Moffatt -hopes his time on the show might help him relate to the contestants about how “hard” it is to go without basic necessities like food.
Joel said: “God, it was hard, it really is the hunger.
“You talk about food for 23 hours a day. You don’t get that hunger out of your system for a good couple of months afterwards.”

Matt Lucas says his new comedy series will be ‘diverse’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Little Britain’ star Matt Lucas says his new comedy series with David Walliams will be “diverse”.
The former ‘Great British Bake Off’ judge and his 51-year-old writing partner understand the criticisms levelled at the BBC 00s hit ‘Little Britain’, and they will take some feedback onboard ahead of to their new project.
The 48-year-old comedian said: “We know how ‘Little Britain’ is perceived. I totally accept that there are all different opinions on this.
“I accept that some people feel very differently to other people and I respect everyone’s opinion from wherever they come from on this subject.
“I see things differently now to how we did and things have changed and I respect that. I feel my job is to listen now about how people feel about that stuff, it’s not about talking, for me it’s about listening.
“The show that me and David are trying to develop will be different in many ways, it will be similar in some ways but at the very beginning of the creation of the show we have talked about how we can diverse talent on screen and in the writers room and conceive it as something that isn’t just about me and David playing absolutely everyone.
“This will be built into the show from the beginning, which is something we should have done but didn’t do back then. But we were making those shows at the same time as many other people who were doing what we doing and had that approach.
“I’m not going to say that we should be making shows now the way we made them then, because I don’t think we should, things are different.
“I can’t say that LGTBQ people should have a voice, that Jewish people should have a voice, but not think that it’s important that other people don’t have a voice.”
Matt revealed he and David will use a US-style “writers room” to knock up their skits.
He told the ‘Deeney Talks’ podcast: “Traditionally it has just been the two of us, 10-5, just writing. I think now that I have ‘Fantasy Football League’ and other things, while David writes four books a year, we’re going to open this up and involve some other people in a way that we haven’t done before, possibly have a writers room like they do in America.
“I think it’ll be good because it will get other voices in there and they will come up with stuff that we haven’t come up with.
“I think that probably the first episode of the show – and we haven’t sold the show yet, we haven’t pitched it, it might be that nobody wants to make it – we will write the first episode, just the two of us like old times, just the two of us making each other laugh and after that we will try and involve other people like we didn’t do with our previous shows.”

Vicky Pattison admits fame made her insufferable at times: ‘I was awful to my agents’

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Geordie Shore’ star Vicky Pattison says fame made her “a proper a*******”.
The reality TV star has confessed to being a “right d***” in the aftermath of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2015, admitting she was “awful” to her agents.
The 35-year-old star said: “You can get caught up in fame. I’ve had my moments.
“When I came out of the jungle I was a right d***. I look back on it and think, ‘My God, you were really flirting with being a proper a******* there, Vicky.’
“I was awful to my agents. I was always tired.
“I’d just won the biggest TV show in the country and people wanted me to be on stuff – I should’ve been grateful, but I just wanted to party with friends and enjoy being a famous person.”
Vicky admitted the rude comments she used to receive at the start of her career kept her “relatively grounded”.
She said: “I would walk around a supermarket and some guy would say, ‘There’s that s*** off the telly’. I believe I’m relatively grounded.
“I’m grateful for those comments, they brought me back to earth.”
Vicky – who is set to wed her man Ercan Ramadan, 38 – admitted she didn’t understand the “magnitude” of fame when she started out in reality TV.
She added to The Sun newspaper: “I don’t think I understood the magnitude of what I was doing. I definitely didn’t anticipate where I am now.
“I was naive. There’s no rule book for it. That type of reality TV, ‘Geordie Shore’, ‘TOWIE’, was all new.
“I made a lot of mistakes. First of all, I was an absolute scumbag.
“You can say the TV made me do it, and I’ll place blame where it deserves to be placed.
“Sometimes I was put in situations where I wasn’t comfortable, sometimes I played up to the cameras because I was trying to give producers what they want, and sometimes you have to hold your hands up.”

Kevin Hart: Planes, Trains and Automobiles remake must be perfect

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Hart has revealed that the script for the ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’ remake is still in development.
The 43-year-old actor is due to star alongside Will Smith in the reboot of the 1987 comedy movie and says that the cast and crew are trying to perfect the story before moving ahead with production.
In an interview with ET Canada, Kevin said of the upcoming project: “Still writing! You’re talking about the remake for me and Will Smith? That’s what we’re working on! Excited to figure something out with my guy. Both from Philadelphia, we’ve yet to do anything and we’re just doing ourselves a disservice.
“So, trying to crack the code on this one. But, like, anything else, you cannot do it until it’s right, and sometimes that takes time. Lots of drafts, lots of rewrites, lots of brainstorming.
“We’ll get it there, and when we do, it will be what it’s supposed to be, which is amazing.”
The original movie starred Steve Martin and John Candy as two businessmen trying to make it home to Chicago in time for Thanksgiving and Kevin previously admitted that he “can’t wait” to make the reboot.
The comic said: “Me and Will have been talking about doing a movie for the longest time and we just [couldn’t] put our finger on what that movie was.
“So, for us to get to a point where we agree that said material was our project – because our personalities not only fit, but we could really pop in this situation – it was just a no-brainer.
“Remaking this movie is something we are excited about. We can’t wait to do it.
“The studio’s happy and it’s about rolling my sleeves up and getting the script to where it’s supposed to be.”

Elizabeth Banks worried about her mother’s reaction to Cocaine Bear

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Banks fears that her mother will “lose her mind” when she sees ‘Cocaine Bear’.
The 49-year-old director has helmed the horror comedy movie about a bear that goes on the rampage after ingesting a bag of cocaine and is worried about how her mother Ann will react when she watches the film for the first time.
Elizabeth told Variety at the premiere on Tuesday (21.02.23): “I’m going to be honest with you, no one knows what to make of it when I tell them about it.
“My poor mother is the least informed. She’s going to go with my aunts and they’re going to lose their minds. I told her she’s going to be mad.”
The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ director added: “She will laugh and she’s going to love Margo Martindale and Isiah Whitlock Jr. and the dog. Not enough people talk about the dog, Rosette. She’ll love those parts, but she’ll close her eyes for a lot of it.”
The movie is inspired by the true story of an American black bear that ingested a duffel bag full of cocaine dropped by drug smugglers in 1985 and the crew wanted the animal – which was designed by Peter Jackson’s Weta FX company – to look as a realistic as possible.
Producer Chris Miller told The Hollywood Reporter: “It was very important to us and very important to Elizabeth to make sure that you really believe the bear, because if you didn’t then the whole movie is pointless.
“They studied actual crazy things that bears do, bear movements and stuff, and then we goosed it a little bit.”
Elizabeth previously acknowledged that she was putting her career at risk by making the bizarre movie.
She explained: “‘Cocaine Bear’ is a ginormous risk. This could be a career ender for me.”

Boy George: I’m A Celebrity… showed a ‘limited narrative’

OHMYGOSSIP — Boy George thinks ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ showed a “limited narrative”.
The Culture Club frontman took part in the most recent series of the show – which was won by Jill Scott – and though he doesn’t regret being involved, he’s questioned the “slightly one-dimentional” way he was depicted, suggesting programme bosses didn’t give a full account of what was happening in camp.
Speaking to Jackie Brambles on Greatest Hits Radio, he said: “I don’t regret doing it, but I don’t necessarily understand the show. I feel like what went on in there wasn’t shown [on screen].
“We had such a laugh and there were some amazing conversations, a lot of intimacy but there was quite a limited narrative that went out. I mean you can’t spend 24 hours with someone and not have a decent conversation – I didn’t just talk about mushrooms!
“I’m not a one-dimensional human being and there was a slightly one-dimensional portrayal.”
The 61-year-old singer – who was the fourth person to be voted out of camp – is amazed at how many people have told him he “should have won” since the series ended.
He added: “Having come out of the jungle the amount of people that have come up to me and said I should have won is hilarious.
“I’m like, ‘Why didn’t you vote for me then?!’ ”
George previously admitted he threatened to quit the show four times and is still surprised he didn’t “do a Gemma Collins” – referring to the reality star who left the show in 2014 after just a few days in camp – and walk out because he got so frustrated.
He admitted: “I am a bit of a stomper-outer, I spent the whole of the 80s saying I was going to leave Culture Club. My manager calls it my marching, when I start going, ‘That’s it I’m leaving’.
“So I was amazed how I was able to stop myself from doing a Gemma Collins. I can remember watching her quit and thinking, ‘That could be me’.
“The thing is, the jungle is designed to drive you crazy and it works, because everything in there is impossible. So there were times when I said, ‘If this isn’t beneficial to the show, I’m not doing it’.”

Addison Rae lands role in Eli Roth’s slasher film Thanksgiving

OHMYGOSSIP — Addison Rae is to star in upcoming slasher film ‘Thanksgiving’.
The social media star will be part of the cast for director Eli Roth’s upcoming horror movie, which is based on the spoof trailer the 50-year-old filmmaker made 16 years ago for the Quentin Tarantino-Robert Rodriguez double bill ‘Grindhouse’, but it is unclear what role she will be playing.
Sources told The Hollywood Reporter the movie centres on a slasher who arrives at a small town in Massachusetts with the intention of “creating a Thanksgiving carving board out of the town’s inhabitants.”
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Patrick Dempsey is also in talks to join the cast, but the director is hoping to feature a number of unknown names.
Production is due to begin in Toronto next month.
Eli will also serve as producer alongside Electromagnetic Productions’ Roger Birnbaum.
Addison made her movie debut in ‘He’s All That’ in 2021 and previously revealed she wanted to prove she’s not “limited to one thing” and hoped to explore a variety of acting roles.
She said: “I want to show people I’m not just limited to one thing.
“I want to play the bad guy but also the good guy. I eventually want something really deep and emotional and real as possible.”
And the 22-year-old star claimed she had to work “much harder” in order to make it as an actress because of her background.
She explained: “In this industry, when you come in and get labelled as one thing … people like to keep you there. Which is understandable, and I get it, but what people don’t realise is I’ve always wanted to do acting, I’ve always wanted to do music. I’ve always wanted to do all these other things that they didn’t really get to see or know, because I just started being known when I was 19 years old.
“People haven’t really seen the background, or the classes I used to take and things like that. So I try to tell myself, ‘You have to work that much harder to get people to take you seriously.'”

New Lord of the Rings movies in the works at Warner Bros

OHMYGOSSIP — New ‘Lord of the Rings’ films are in the works at Warner Bros.
The company’s co-chairs and CEOs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy are “honoured” to be taking on the new project based on the J.R.R. Tolkien books, and believe the author’s universe “remains largely unexplored on film”.
They said in a statement: “Twenty years ago, New Line took an unprecedented leap of faith to realise the incredible stories, characters and world of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ on the big screen.
“The result was a landmark series of films that have been embraced by generations of fans.
“But for all the scope and detail lovingly packed into the two trilogies, the vast, complex and dazzling universe dreamed up by J.R.R. Tolkien remains largely unexplored on film.
“The opportunity to invite fans deeper into the cinematic world of Middle-earth is an honour, and we are excited to partner with Middle-earth Enterprises and Embracer on this adventure.”
Peter Jackson helmed the first ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy – which starred Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett and Sir Ian McKellen – from 2001 to 2003, and ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy from 2012 to 2014.
Jackson and Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, his main collaborators on ‘The Lord of the Rings’, have admitted Warner Bros. and Embracer have kept them “in the loop every step of the way”.
The trio told Variety: “We look forward to speaking with them further to hear their vision for the franchise moving forward”.
A new deal is said to have been brokered to make “multiple” ‘Lord of the Rings’ movies based on Tolkien’s books.
Lee Guinchard, CEO of Freemode, said: “Following our recent acquisition of Middle-earth Enterprises, we’re thrilled to embark on this new collaborative journey with New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures, bringing the incomparable world of J.R.R. Tolkien back to the big screen in new and exciting ways.
“We understand how cherished these works are and working together with our partners at New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures, we plan to honour the past, look to the future, and adhere to the strongest level of quality and production values.”

Ex-EastEnders star Danny Dyer won’t miss all of his co-stars: ‘There’s a few of them’

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘EastEnders’ star Danny Dyer admits he didn’t “love” all of his co-stars.
The 45-year-old star has hinted at a potential feud on the BBC One soap, after he admitted there are “a few” of the show’s stars that he won’t miss much.
When asked on Saturday’s (25.02.23) ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ who he will miss the least, he says: “There’s a few of them actually, I ain’t going to lie. I won’t say [who], you know. Most of them I love dearly. Not all.”
Jonathan asks: “So they know who they are, though?”
Danny says: “I would have thought so.”
The star admitted it was “very emotional” departing the soap after nine years of playing character Mick Carter, but admitted he stank while shooting his final scenes, in which his landlord alter-ego got lost at sea.
He adds: “I tell you what it is, I’m lazy. It’s f****** hard. Thirty pages you’ve got to learn a day. It’s like a film a week. My final scenes were in the sea, in Ramsgate at 2am. We did the exteriors in the sea and the interiors you go to a water tank. But EastEnders couldn’t get Pinewood, so we had to go to Basildon.
“It’s all warm and lovely but to make it look like the sea they put broccoli juice in it. You smell of a***. It’s f***ing broccoli juice. Warm broccoli juice. It was very emotional, but I stunk.
“If it goes t*** up I can go back. I can turn up in three years’ time, walk in the Queen Vic smothered in seaweed…
“They wanted to keep it open. I’m very privileged and grateful for that job. It really did change my career and my life.”
Speaking about his exit, he says: “You don’t have much say in it, I just wanted it to be exciting and quite cinematic. It went down really well, a lot of people were quite touched by it. People were sending me all this stuff, TikToks of kids crying, it really upset them.”
Away from TV, Danny is to be a granddad again as his daughter Dani Dyer – who has two-year-old son Santiago – and her pro footballer partner Jarrod Bowen are expecting twins.
Jarrod stars for Danny’s favourite team, Premier League side West Ham United, but the ‘Football Factory’ actor isn’t sure if he should celebrate when Bowen scores and the Hammers fans sing about him “s*******” the former ‘Love Island’ star.
Danny says: “West Ham until I die. You can’t tell them who to fall in love with… all of a sudden she’s brought home a West Ham player. I couldn’t have hand picked a better human being, he’s beautiful. He comes round and I get all starstruck.”
Speaking about going to games when he’s playing, Danny says: “There is a chant, which I think is quite sweet. When he scores – and he does score a lot – [they chant] ‘Bowen’s on fire and he’s s******* Dani Dyer!’ I’ve been over there when they’re singing it, jumping around. Is that wrong?”

Ryan Reynolds to star in comedy film Boy Band

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds is to star in and produce the comedy ‘Boy Band’.
The ‘Deadpool’ actor is attached to feature in the Paramount project and will once again team up with frequent collaborator Shawn Levy.
Ryan originated the story and co-written the movie with Jesse Andrews – the scribe behind ‘Me and Earl and the Dying Girl’ – and is also set to produce via his Maximum Effort banner.
Levy will produce via his 21 Laps Entertainment company and could potentially direct the film, although scheduling will be the determining factor.
Reynolds is hoping to shoot ‘Boy Band’ in either late 2023 or early 2024. Details of the film are being kept under wraps, but it is being described as a boy band reunion movie.
The star has shown his singing skills in the Christmas film ‘Spirited’ as he performed song and dance numbers alongside co-star Will Ferrell in the Apple flick.
Ryan previously confessed that he found working on the musical more challenging than making a superhero film.
The 46-year-old actor said: “Training for a superhero movie is something I’ve been doing since I was 20 and I’m 46 now. It’s second nature to me. Doing a fight sequence is in my bones. I memorise them very fast.
“I can make a mistake and use that mistake to my advantage in the moment.
“Whereas dancing, if I make one mistake, I completely fall apart. I don’t know if I would [make a musical] again. I don’t think so.
“They’re such vastly different disciplines.
“When you haven’t spent your life at a craft like song and dance, you’re just always playing catch-up.
“Thank god we have 15, 20, 30, 50 takes to get it right!”

Blankety Blank, The Wheel and The Weakest Link to return

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Blankety Blank’, ‘The Wheel’, and ‘The Weakest Link’ are returning for new series.
The trio of Saturday night family favourites will all return on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with Bradley Walsh back to front another 10 episodes of ‘Blankety Blank’, Michael McIntyre will host a 10-episode run of ‘The Wheel’ again, and Romesh Ranganathan will present 12 episodes of ‘The Weakest Link’.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC, said: “In Michael, Bradley and Romesh we have three funny titans of Saturday evening TV back on our screens with these fabulous formats from Hungry McBear, Thames and BBC Studios ensuring that both BBC One and BBC iPlayer remain as an undisputed entertainment destination for viewers all across the UK in 2023.”
But there may not be many A-listers taking part in ‘The Wheel’, after Michael recently admitted he isn’t sure “if the show would work” with an international star.
Speaking in November, he said: “The celebrities have to be of a similar standard.
“I don’t know if the show would work with an international A-lister on it.
“If you had someone like Daniel Craig, I’m not sure it would work. It would be like when they have a big American star on a chat show and you have to hope they’re having a good time.”
Michael has welcomed television favourites such as ‘This Morning’ presenter Alison Hammond, former ‘TOWIE’ star Gemma Collins and newsreader Dan Walker onto his programme, and admitted that he enjoys having people who television audiences “wouldn’t expect” to see on a game show.
He said: “We get a really good cross-section. I like to have people who you wouldn’t expect to see on a game show. The celebrities we’ve had really love it. They all want to come back.”

Steven Yeun lands Thunderbolts role

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Yeun has been cast in ‘Thunderbolts’.
The 39-year-old actor has joined the Marvel blockbuster and insiders suggest that his part could play a significant role moving forward in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Steven joins an ensemble cast that also features Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen and Olga Kurylenko.
The movie is being directed by Jake Schreier from a script by ‘Black Widow’ writer Eric Pearson. It is scheduled to be released in July 2024.
Little is known about the plot of the movie but the comics revolve around a group of villains who are sent on missions commissioned by the government.
Steven previously starred in the hit TV series ‘The Walking Dead’ before his performance in the 2020 film ‘Minari’ earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.
Julia will star in the film as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and recalled how Marvel bosses went to extreme lengths to keep her identity a secret on set.
The 62-year-old star said: “There’s so much secrecy around it. When I first started shooting, I had to go to set wearing a black cloak with a hood and keep my head down so nobody could see it was me walking into the soundstage.”
Louis-Dreyfus has also demanded that her character gets the chance to “kick some ass” in the film.
She said: “I pitched it; I told them I really want to fight. I haven’t seen the script yet – we’ll see if that happens.”
However, Julia admits that the physical demands of a Marvel part are off-putting.
She said: “Ugh. I guess I’d better get in shape.”
