Bear Grylls warned Spencer Matthews about dangers of Mt Everest

OHMYGOSSIP — Bear Grylls warned Spencer Matthews that finding his brother’s body on Mount Everest was not worth dying for.
The former ‘Made In Chelsea’ star teamed up with Disney Plus to make a documentary about his expedition to the world’s highest peak looking for the remains of his late sibling Michael who died during a descent down the mountain back in 1999 when he was just 22.
In a trailer for the documentary, explorer Grylls told Spencer: “Stay safe. If you get hold of Mike, I hear his voice screaming that one loud.
“On average seven people attempting Everest lose their life. No mountain is worth dying for a second time over.”
Speaking about his reasons for undertaking the journey, Spencer said: “Michael was my big brother. 20 odd years later we are sent this photograph of a body, it looks like it could be Michael.
“My heart says we should go and find him. And if we can, bring him home. We need the best people possible. We have one of the greatest, Nims Purja. We have to look all over the mountain.”
Michael died shortly after becoming the youngest British climber to summit Mount Everest following in the footsteps of TV adventurer Grylls who previously completed the challenge at the age of 23.
Bear later led an exhibition back up the mountain in a bid to recover Michael’s body, but it was not successful.
Speaking at the Oxford Union, Bear explained: “We actually had an expedition on Everest to try to recover the body of the brother of a good friend, who climbed it the year after I was there but was never found.
“We really tried. We had the best team in the world.”

Carley Stenson too cold to wear revealing outfits

OHMYGOSSIP — Carley Stenson is too cold to wear sexy outfits on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The 40-year-old actress – who has 20-month-old daughter Skye with husband Danny Mac – is proud of the way her body has transformed thanks to the gruelling training schedule for the competition and though she’s “hungry” to flaunt her figure in skimpy clothing, she admitted it isn’t very practical at the moment.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “It is so funny because I got sent some beautiful revealing outfits and I’m hungry to wear them, but you are on the ice all the time — I’m blooming freezing!
“Even after the show, I’ve got these gorgeous dresses, but we are outside in the marquee and everyone is keeping their coats on.
“So I’m desperate to feel a bit sexier again in my old outfits, but it’s too cold to wear them.
“I love looking leaner and feeling stronger. Internally everything seems tighter and stronger, which feels amazing.
I’m fitter too, and it’s great to be able to run around after my daughter. I just feel better.
“After giving birth to Skye I bought bigger clothes to chill myself out and not put too much pressure on myself.
“But I am now starting to fit in the clothes that I was wearing before, so I’ve been quite happy.”
While Danny appreciates the changes in his wife, the couple don’t see each other much at the moment because he is starring in a West End production of ‘Pretty Woman: The Musical’.
Carley said: “It’s nice if I’m awake enough when he comes home. Now I’m just so shattered. But he is enjoying my confidence that’s come with it and he’s enjoying just seeing me shine, thrive and buzz. I’m just buzzing all the time because I’m getting to dance. It’s just feeling fit and getting the blood pumping.
“It releases endorphins and just makes you grab life with both hands. It’s brilliant.”
And the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star admitted she is “too scared” to enjoy her newfound fitness because she’s worry about keeping it up when she finishes on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
She said: “I’m too scared to really enjoy that because I know that the minute I’m out of the competition I’ll be like, ‘What can I do to stay this way now?’.
“I need to get back into my running shoes.
But I’m loving every time we finish the routine and we’re out of breath and we’re knackered and I’m trying to catch my breath.
“I love that feeling as I know I’m working hard.
“I’m really enjoying sweating on the ice, I’m really enjoying the workout that I’m getting.”

Gemma Collins wants to represent UK at Eurovision

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins thinks she should represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest because she is “just as good” as Katherine Jenkins.
The 42-year-old reality star has been exploring her Welsh roots for new TV show ‘More Than Daffs and Taffs’ and she believes her ancestry has helped her inherit great vocals so she should be chosen to perform against artists from other countries in the annual competition, which this year takes place in Liverpool in May.
She is quoted by the Daily Star Sunday newspaper as saying: “I have Welsh in my blood – my nan was Welsh.
“All of the Welsh are good singers – Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey.
“I think I could represent us at the Eurovision Song Contest. I think I would be good they should get me.
“Katherine Jenkins is another one, and I think I’m just as good. It’s obviously a Welsh thing.”
Gemma is also considering moving to Wales because she thinks her native Essex is “toxic” and she has outgrown the area.
She said: “I’ve totally outgrown Essex. It’s toxic.
“I really like it in Surrey, Sam Faiers lives there. I do love Wales and I would consider living there.”
This isn’t the first time the former ‘Only Way is Essex’ star has voiced her dream of representing the UK at Eurovision.
Speaking in 2021 after James Newman, 35, scored nul points with his song ‘Embers’, she said: “I was absolutely gutted when James came off so badly — I would have given him the world.
“Next year I think the ‘Eurovision’ needs The GC. I’ve heard Bill Bailey wants to do it, so maybe we could duet.”
However, if Bill turns down her offer, Gemma is determined to “tap up Snoop Dogg”.
She added: “I want to take on his job on the Just Eat adverts — and I think working together at ‘Eurovision’ could be my way in.
“I wouldn’t be doing a cover song either, I’d write my own original song or have someone write one for me. Either way, the UK needs The GC. And I won’t be getting nul points, honey.”

Simu Liu teases new Marvel appearance for Shang Chi

OHMYGOSSIP — Simu Liu has teased fans will see him pop up in a new Marvel blockbuster “sooner than [they] think”.
The ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ actor admitted he is very excited about the possibility of a crossover with other characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and suggested he has already been working on another project in the role.
He told People magazine: “I’m such a big fan of both the characters and the performers that play them, so any collaboration is an opportunity for me to work alongside someone who, in their own way, is breaking barriers and at the very top of their game.
“I think that’s what excites me the most as a performer, [and] also as a fan.”
He then teased: “And who knows, they might see something sooner than you think. We’ll see.”
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old star admitted he is “honoured” to be part of the cast of Greta Gerwig’s long-awaited ‘Barbie’ movie, particularly because it is such a different project to “the Marvel thing”.
He said: “The invitation to participate [is] certainly very humbling.
“I’m extremely honoured to have even been given the opportunity to play in that sandbox with such incredible auteurs every step of the way.
“[I’m honored] just getting to do something completely different than the Marvel thing and fighting, and letting it be about the dance and the colour and the vibrancy of that movie.”
Simu previously admitted he had had “so much fun” working on the ‘Barbie’ film, which also stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
He said in December after the first trailer was released: “The dancing, the laughing, all of that. That was every single day for us on set. So now to finally see that in a work form is actually surreal because we just felt like we were having fun the whole time.
“But I’m really excited for people to watch more. I think there will be one more trailer that comes out before the movie, but I think it’s great to keep the audience guessing, and I can’t wait for them to see.”

Amy Childs lands new reality show

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Childs has landed a new reality show.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star and her partner Billy Delbosq are preparing to welcome twins into the world and she is “so excited” that her pregnancy and early days with the tots will be chronicled on camera after she signed a deal with ITVBe for ‘Amy Childs: The Twin Life’.
Amy – who also has Polly, five, and Ritchie, four, from previous relationships – wrote on Instagram: “HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT
“Right …. SO I can’t believe I’m writing this but I’ve only gone and got my very own show on ITVBe, Amy Childs: The Twin Life!
“I’m so excited to bring you on our journey from pregnancy to birth all the ups and downs – absolutely no filter!!! COMING VERY SOON (sic)”
The 32-year-old star recently vowed she won’t be having any more children after the twins are born.
She said: “I love big families, but I think four is ideal. Two boys, two girls.
“Bill hasn’t got children, he’s 40 this year. He’s always wanted to be a dad, but obviously, he’s never met the right person.
“Me having the two kids, Polly and Ritch, I was a bit like: ‘Mmm. I would have been really happy to stay at two…’ But meeting Bill, I thought: ‘Do you know what, I will see.’ ”
And Amy also admitted she was “in shock” when she was told she was carrying twins.
She said in October: “I feel like I’m still in shock – massively in shock. When they said it was twins, I wish we’d videoed it.
“I went for a few early scans and they told me at eight weeks, ‘there’s two sacks and two heartbeats, congratulations’, my face was an absolute picture, like, ‘I’m not ready to have a baby – I’m not ready to have twins.”

Channel 4 reviving Four Weddings

OHMYGOSSIP — Channel 4 are bringing back ‘Four Weddings’.
The broadcasters are planning to reboot the programme – which originally ran on Sky Living from 2009 to 2013 – and are keen for the show to have even more “drama” than ever before.
The reality show echoes the format made popular by ‘Come Dine With Me’ and sees four couples rank each other’s big days on factors including the dress, the food, the venue, and the overall experience, with the highest-scoring bride and groom winning their dream honeymoon.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Producers have seen the success of Married At First Sight and are looking to make Four Weddings a hit with even more drama than the original.
“Everyone loves a wedding show, especially after the success of Don’t Tell The Bride.”
The show is being made by Multistory Media, who also work on ‘Come Dine With Me’ and ‘All Star Musicals’, and producers are on the lookout for “zany, original and different” weddings to feature on the programme.
The insider added: “Casting agents are currently scouring the country for zany, original and different weddings to avoid the run-of-the-mill ceremony.
“They want lots of characters and plan to feature same sex weddings too this time around.”
Steps singer Faye Tozer’s wedding to second husband Michael Smith featured on a celebrity edition of the show in 2010 and though she admitted their nuptials may have seemed “boring” alongside the other stars, which included ‘Big Brother’ winner Pete Bennett and model Michelle Marsh, she was determined not to do anything controversial that could upset her spouse’s family.
She said at the time: “Mine was absolutely traditional, straight down the line. Michael is from the North and has a huge family and as Faye from Steps marrying into that family, I didn’t want to do anything that would make great nanna jump or anything outrageous.
“Also, I didn’t want to compete. I was very specific that I didn’t want to go over the top with entertainment. For me, it was all about the family.
“It might come across on TV as really boring, but for me it was just perfect. I can see why they put the bunch together, they did it because the difference was huge.”

‘Not close’: Tom Cruise dismisses speculation he could have been Iron Man

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Cruise never came “close” to playing Iron Man.
The 60-year-old actor has long been subjected to rumours he was in the running to play Tony Stark and his superhero alter ego, but he’s now addressed the speculation and insisted he “can’t imagine” anyone other than Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe role.
Asked about the speculation, he told podcast ‘Phase Zero’: “Not close.
“I love Robert Downey Jr., and I can’t imagine anyone else doing that role, and I think it’s perfect for him.”
Last year, ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ screenwriter Michael Waldron admitted he had been so inspired by the speculation about Tom, he pitched the idea of getting the ‘Top Gun’ actor to play a variant of Tony Stark in his 2022 movie.
He said of the rumours: “Yeah, that was totally made up. I mean, there’s no cut footage of Tom Cruise.
“But I love Tom Cruise, and I said to [Marvel Studios president] Kevin [Feige] at one point, I was like, ‘Could we get Tom Cruise’s Iron Man?’ I remember reading about that in Ain’t It Cool News back in the day, that Tom Cruise was going to be Iron Man.
“As it was being talked about online, I was like, ‘Yeah, that’d be cool!’ ”
But the writer confirmed he didn’t think anyone had got in touch with Tom’s team “because of availability”.
Back in 2005, the ‘Mission: Impossible’ actor admitted he had been approached for the role but didn’t feel it was “gonna work” in the way he would have wanted it to.
He said: “They came to me at a certain point and, when I do something, I wanna do it right.
“If I commit to something, it has to be done in a way that I know it’s gonna be something special.
“And as it was lining up, it just didn’t feel to me like it was gonna work.
“I need to be able to make decisions and make the film as great as it can be, and it just didn’t go down that road that way.”

‘It just got harder!’ Carley Stenson in tears after being axed from Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Carley Stenson broke down in tears as she was eliminated from ‘Dancing on Ice.’
The 40-year-old actress – who is best known for her role as Steph Cunningham in the Channel 4 soap opera ‘Hollyoaks’ – had been taking part in the ITV skating competition alongside Mark Hanretty but became emotional after missing out on a place in next week’s semi-finals as she admitted she will “miss” her professional partner.
Speaking on Sunday’s (26.02.23) episode of the show, she told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: “It just got harder. I’m gonna miss this man. I’ve really enjoyed it, this is all a bit of a blur actually.”
The former West End star had ended up in the skate-off against Siva Kaneswaran and his partner Klabera Komini but failed to impress Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo, and Oti Mabuse with their routine set to Celeste hit ‘Stop This Flame’, with all four judges opting to send The Wanted singer through to the next heat of the competition.
Diversity member Ashley remarked: “What a skate-off! For me, it is about the skate-off, it is about the drama, it is about the executive and how you hold it together and I think [Siva and Klabera] had a stronger week”, whilst Oti claimed that Carley’s routine had been “intricate and difficult” but Siva’s was “easy but perfectly executed.”
Christopher commented: “The skate-off is about the do or die and tonight, there were some mistakes.”
Head Judge Jayne added: “I would agree with my fellow judges, it was all about tonight’s skate-off and that is what we have to judge.”

Love Island: Claudia Fogarty and Casey O’Gorman clash during Movie Night

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’s Movie Night saw Claudia Fogarty row with Casey O’Gorman when she discovered he had invited Cynthia Otseh-Taiwo to share his bed.
The pair had been coupled up for a few days before the 28-year-old beauty was sent to the Casa Amor villa, and on Wednesday’s (22.02.23) installment of the show, she was shocked to discover the details of what happened when she was away.
Claudia was shown a clip of Cynthia climbing on top of Casey on the terrace before he invited her into his bed, prompting the livid boutique owner to shout: “You said you never asked her to sleep in your bed.”
But defiant Casey insisted he had “nothing to be sorry about”.
He said: “We literally both went into Casa pretty much single, we’ve dealt with everything.
“I’ve got nothing to be sorry about.”
Claudia fumed: “Don’t make me look like a d******d.”
Jessie Wynter and Tanya Manhenga then waded into the row.
Jessie said: “Casey stop defending yourself and say f*****g sorry.”
But when Tanya also chipped in, Casey rolled his eyes and said: “Oh, Tanya, don’t you start.”
She replied: “Everyone has an opinion and you can say what they want.”
Elsewhere, movie night also saw Tanya clash with Shaq Muhammad after they had to rewatch her in-bed smooch with Martin Aknola, who she had chosen to recouple with.
Shaq shouted: “Why am I not hearing about this before? So you think his soup is delicious?”
Tanya hit back: “I said exactly what happened!”
Shaq then quipped: “I knew you was looking nervous for a reason.”
But the biomedical science student insisted: “I’m not nervous hunny, I told you exactly what I said.
“You were looking for something to be angry about. But I’m not nervous, I’m absolutely fine hunny.”
Shaq pressed Tanya as to why she had become so “defensive” over the kiss and insisted she was “in the wrong”.
He added: “That’s not what you said, what I saw and what you said is different.
“Did everyone not hear her say it as well?”
Tanya then shouted: “Am I not allowed to defend myself? What the f*** else do you want me to tell you?”
Much to the dismay of many viewers, not all of Movie Night was shown in the episode, with fans having to tune in on Thursday (23.02.23) to catch the rest of the action.

Dave Bautista’s My Spy returning for sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Bautista’s ‘My Spy’ is returning for a sequel.
The 54-year-old star is to reprise his role as CIA agent J.J. in ‘My Spy: The Eternal City’, the follow up to the 2020 spy comedy movie.
Bautista and his fellow returning stars Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal and Ken Jeong will appear opposite new cast members Anna Faris, Craig Robinson, Flula Borg, Billy Barratt, Taeho K, Nicola Correia-Damude, Noah Dalton Danby and Devere Rogers.
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon and MGM Studios, said: “We were so delighted with the success of ‘My Spy’. It is an absolute privilege to reunite with Pete Segal, Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, and the rest of the talented cast and filmmakers – along with some very exciting additions.”
Peter Segal, who is returning to direct the sequel, admitted the cast is like “a kiss from the comedy gods”.
He said: “Having Anna, Craig and Flula join our amazing cast is like a kiss from the comedy gods.”
The first ‘My Spy’ movie told the story of Bautista’s character being sent to surveil nine-year-old girl Sophie (Coleman) and her family, but she blackmails him to train her to be a spy.
In the second film, Sophie is now a teenager and JJ is tasked with chaperoning her on her school choir’s jaunt to Italy.
‘My Spy’ – which sees Jeong play David Kim, J.J.’s boss at the CIA – was released by Amazon Prime after foregoing a cinematic release in North America, after the coronavirus pandemic forced movie theatres to close.

Camila Cabello boards Chiwetel Ejiofor’s movie Rob Peace

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello has landed her second major movie role in Chiwetel Ejiofor’s flick ‘Rob Peace’.
The ‘Don’t Go Yet’ singer has boarded the Prime Video adaptation of the biography ‘The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace: A Brilliant Young Man Who Left Newark for the Ivy League’ by Jeff Hobbs, which is the second movie to be helmed by BAFTA winner Chiwetel, following 2019’s ‘The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind’, Deadline reports.
The former Fifth Harmony star joins Mary J Blige, Jay Will and Chiwetel himself in the cast.
The tome “follows Robert Peace (Will), a young man who grew up in a crime-ridden section of Newark, NY and later graduated from Yale with degrees in molecular biophysics and biochemistry earned on scholarship. Peace led a dual life living in the insular world of academia and as a lab researcher of cancer and infectious diseases, while at the same time making six figures from the sale of marijuana. He was killed in a drug-related shooting in 2011.”
Camila will play Naya, Robert’s fellow student, while Chiwetel and Mary will portray Robert’s parents.
Production is already underway.
The 25-year-old singer’s debut movie role was playing the titular role in Prime’s 2021 remake of fairy tale classic ‘Cinderella’.
Camila – who first made her name as a pop star – previously confessed it was “f****** terrifying” that her first film was playing the lead.
She said: “[The best] thing about my music videos was getting the chance to be a part of a narrative. I was in drama class when I was in middle school, and that’s how I came to singing, too. It was a way I could express myself and overcome my shyness. My drama teacher was the first person I sang in front of, and I knew, ‘Oh, I love getting onstage and performing,’ whether it be singing or doing improv or whatever. So as time went by, I was always like, ‘Music is my first love, my first vehicle for expressing myself, but if I stumbled upon the right thing, I would be so hyped to explore acting.’ It was f****** terrifying that I had the lead in the first acting project that I did, but eventually I was like, ‘Here we go — music video!'”

Laura Anderson addresses split from Gary Lucy: ‘My priority is bringing up my baby’

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Love Island’ star Laura Anderson has addressed her split from Gary Lucy, insisting her priority is bringing up their baby in a “calm and stable environment”.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor recently claimed pregnant Laura wanted him to move to Scotland – where she is from – but the 33-year-old star insists she “never asked or expected” him to do so, and says she was initially planning to move to Essex, where he hails from.
In a statement on her Instagram Stories, Laura wrote: “I had no intention to comment on the breakdown of my relationship with Gary.
“However, due to what has now been publicly shared by other parties, I have been left with no other choice.
“Gary and I are no longer together due to multiple reasons which will remain private. Our plan was for me to move to Essex to start our family which I was more than happy to do.
“However, since the breakdown of our relationship I have remained at home in Scotland. My priority is bringing my baby up in a calm and stable environment.
“I never asked or expected Gary to move to Scotland. I fully support him living in Essex to be close to his four amazing children.
“I am fully focused on having a healthy, happy pregnancy and remain excited to share this incredible journey with you all. Thank you so much for you support! Laura, Buddy and Bump. (sic)”
Laura announced last week she is expecting her first child.
She wrote on Instagram at the time: “Our hearts are full. Baby Lucy due Summer ‘23 (sic)”
But four days later, she edited the caption, which now reads: “My heart is full. Baby Anderson due Summer ‘23”
The change came after Gary admitted in a newspaper interview that he was “devastated” about the split, and claimed Laura had wanted him to move.
He said: “It’s been really hard and I’m devastated it’s over romantically. I think the world of her.
“Laura did want me to move but I have my responsibilities here.
“I have four kids and all the things that go along with that so it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to uproot at this time.
“Having gone through a divorce, my children need me and living such a long way from them just would not be possible.
“I wish I could break myself in half. I would if I could.”
Gary, 41, now confirmed last week that he and Laura – who met on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ last year – had split up.
He said: “I love Laura but we are no longer together.
“My main drive as always is to work together to co-parent our child. I look forward to the arrival of the new baby.”

Graham Norton, Rylan Clark and Hannah Waddingham among Eurovision hosts

OHMYGOSSIP — Graham Norton, Rylan Clark and Hannah Waddingham are among the stars who will host coverage of this year’s ‘Eurovision Song Contest’.
Comedian Graham, HARDKISS frontwoman Julia Sanina, ‘Ted Lasso’ star Hannah, and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge Alesha Dixon will co-host the grand final on May 13th to an audience of 160 million, when the competition takes place in Liverpool.
Hannah, Alesha and Julia will present the two live semi-finals on May 9th and May 11th, while Ukrainian broadcaster Timur Miroshnychenko will be the Eurovision Correspondent in Liverpool.
Timur and Liverpudlian presenter Sam Quek will front the opening ceremony live stream on the official ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ YouTube Channel.
Graham and Mel Giedroyc will take turns in the commentary box for the grand final on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and Scott Mills and Rylan will commentate for the semi-finals, with both set to air live on BBC One and iPlayer for the first time in the UK’s ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ history.
Kate Phillips, BBC’s Director of Unscripted, says: “The BBC is thrilled to have such a talented line-up bringing the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ from Liverpool – on behalf of Ukraine – to the world.
“One thing that truly unites us all is music, and we’re proud to have a team – who are well accustomed to the worlds of music, performing and live broadcasting – as part of our Eurovision presenting family.
“It will be a remarkable moment for the BBC to deliver two huge pinnacles in this year’s broadcasting calendar, the King’s Coronation and Eurovision, within the same week.”
Claire Sweeney will be part of a special commentary team on BBC Radio Merseyside, bringing the contest closer to audiences in the local area.
Last year, Ukraine’s entry the Kalush Orchestra won at 2022’s ‘Eurovision Song Contest’, held in Turin, Italy, but event producers the European Broadcasting Union decided this year’s event could not safely be held in the country amid Russia’s continued bombardment of the country.

Paul Mescal won’t bulk up for Gladiator 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Mescal won’t be bulking up for his role in ‘Gladiator 2’.
The 27-year-old actor has been cast in the lead part of Lucius but is determined to look “real” to viewers when he begins filming for the blockbuster this summer.
On the topic of physical transformation, Paul told The Hollywood Reporter: “With films like this, there is sometimes a focus on that, which I don’t find interesting.
“Of course there’s a physical robustness required for the role but, past that, I’m not interested.
“This guy’s got to fight and got to be a beast. And whatever that looks and feels like is right for me, is what it’s going to be.
“Sometimes I see films and I’m like, ‘That person doesn’t look real.'”
Paul was handed the role of Lucius – who was depicted as the young nephew of Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) in the 2000 historical epic – without an audition by legendary director Sir Ridley Scott and is looking forward to the task of making the hotly-anticipated sequel.
The ‘Aftersun’ star said: “I’m so proud I get to make it. It’s something I’m nervous about but something I feel I can do.”
Original lead star Russell Crowe will not be returning as Maximus in the blockbuster, which is slated for release in 2024, and revealed that he has learned through meetings with Ridley that it is not a “direct sequel” to the first film.
The 58-year-old star said: “Yeah we’ve had dinner and talked about it and all that stuff. So I know roughly how he’s shaping the story.
“But yeah, if you remember, there was a young kid who wanted to beat the Gladiator, which leads to the ‘My name is’ speech. So that young kid has grown up, and he’s now the Emperor.
“I don’t know what else happens at that point, so that’s the idea. So it’s not a remake. And it’s not a direct sequel. It’s not like the day after, you know, 30 years later or something.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs pranked Jason Manford by revealing he had got a tattoo of his “idol”.
The ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ hitmaker plays a joke on the star by showing off what appears to be a permanent inking of Jason’s face on Olly’s leg on Saturday night’s (25.02.23) episode of ‘Starstruck’.
While lifting up his trousers to showcase the temporary tat, the 38-year-old singer says: “I actually have a tattoo of my idol on me.”
Responding, the 41-year-old stand-up comic – and judge on the ITV talent show alongside Shania Twain, Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert – says: “I’m laughing but I’m absolutely terrified.”
Recently, ‘Starstruck’ host Olly said working alongside Shania on the show was a “pinch yourself moment” because he’s admired her for years.
He explained: “It’s definitely a pinch-yourself-moment for me. To hear that Shania was doing the show I was like, ‘Wow. That’s another picture to put on the wall’.
“It’s one off the bucket list to meet Shania and be in her company – someone that I’ve admired from afar for so many years. It’s awesome.”
The talent series, which debuted in February last year, features a singing contest in which members of the public attempt to recreate musical hits by impersonating showbiz stars in a bid to win a £50,000 cash prize.
Olly added: “It’s happy, fell-good Saturday night television.
“This format works for me because I love music. I love performing for people and I love entertaining. If the right show comes along then I’ll do it.
“I’m trying to juggle a lot of things at the moment, but hosting is definitely something I’d like to do more of.

Former Match of the Day commentator John Motson dies aged 77

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Match of the Day’ commentator John Motson has died aged 77.
The legendary football commentator, who was known affectionately as “Motty”, covered 10 World Cups and 29 FA Cup finals for BBC Sport before retiring from the organisation in 2018, and several stars, including former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, have paid tribute to the star.
Jamie wrote on Twitter: “RIP John Motson
An absolute Legend of the game.
So many of us grew up listening to this man describe the action and goals on MOTD and cup finals. Sad loss.”
TV presenter David Baddiel posted: “John Motson. Oy. Feels impossible: a voice that, at one time, *was* football. RIP. (sic)”
TalkSPORT broadcaster Jim White tweeted: “Sad news, legendary football commentator John Motson has died. He was 77.”
John made his breakthrough on ‘Match of the Day’ in 1972 when commentating on a famous FA Cup replay between underdogs Hereford and top flight side Newcastle United.
The match ended up being the main game on the show after Hereford secured a shock 2-1 win, with John remembered for his commentary of Ronnie Radford’s sublime 30-yard strike.
John – who was awarded an OBE for services to sports broadcasting in 2001 – commentated his final game for ‘Match of the Day’ in 2018, when he took the mic for a Premier League fixture between Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion.
He was given a standing ovation on the pitch after the match.
In 2021, the star admitted he was glad he didn’t have to worry about shirt numbers in the Premier League since retiring.
He said: “The difficult bit now, and this is the bit why I’m glad I’m not still doing it anymore, is the shirt numbers.
“In my day they were always 1-11. Now the numbers go up to 50-something. I’d find that difficult.
“And also the number of substitutes. Dealing with one player coming on and one going off was OK in the early 70s.
“Now you’ve got up to nine subs on the bench and any three of whom could come on.
“I always found in my later years working out who was coming on was bad enough, but trying to remember who had gone off was even harder. I found that juxtaposition quite tricky.”
John’s cause of death is not yet known.
