Jamie Dornan returning for The Tourist series 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Dornan is to return for a second series of ‘The Tourist’.
The next season of the hotly-anticipated programme will go into production in Dublin, Ireland, in April, and Jamie “can’t wait” for viewers to see how the tale progresses.
He said: “I’m incredibly excited to continue the story with ‘The Tourist’.
“Harry and Jack Williams are brilliant writers, and I can’t wait for audiences to see how well Ireland and its characters are utilised to keep them guessing as the tale progresses.”
Jamie will once again play Elliot, who, in the first series, woke up in an Australian hospital with amnesia following a car crash.
The star’s character will head to his native Ireland in the second series, but there are dangerous consequences.
Danielle Macdonald – who will be back as Helen Chambers – said: “I’m so excited to team up with Jamie again and return for another wild adventure with an amazing cast and crew.
“Jack and Harry Williams are brilliant story tellers and it’s exciting to see what their minds will come up with next.”
Writers Harry and Jack Williams – who are best known for creating BBC drama ‘The Missing’ and the show’s spin-off ‘Baptiste’ – added: “’The Tourist’ was unlike anything we’d written before and we’re hugely grateful for the incredible response to series one.
“It’s been an exciting journey getting stuck into that world again with the quirky characters that were so loved, and seeing where we could take them next, whilst continuing to deliver a tonally unique and off-beat drama.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Samantha Fox is to star on ‘Celebrity MasterChef’.
The 56-year-old model is expected to be one of the stars who will attempt to wow judges Greg Wallace and John Torode on the celebrity edition of the BBC One cookery competition.
According to The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column, news of the 56-year-old model’s stint on the culinary contest comes as it is revealed she is to drop new music, and be part of an ITV documentary series.
Sam told the podcast ‘A Journey Through SAW’: “There is going to be a series for ITV and then it’s going to be sold to Netflix next year. I’ve just finished an album.
“That’s going to be real pop and real dance. The album is just so uplifting, it’s fantastic.”
Recently, the ‘Touch Me’ hitmaker revealed she was unable to create new music as she was in a very “sad place” after the death of her ex Myra Stratton, who died in 2015.
Sam – who has since tied the knot with Linda Olsen, 50 – said: “When my my ex-partner died, I was with her for 16 years and that’s a long, long time.
“For two years, I couldn’t write a lyric. I just couldn’t write because everything I was writing was very sad and I didn’t want to show people I was in that sad place.
“It was very hard for me to actually release anything at that time and go on stage and pretend to be happy. I was quite sad but time is a healer and then I met Linda.
“I didn’t think at that age, I’d ever meet someone again I was going to settle down with for the rest of my life and I have and I’m in such a great place.
“You get to your 50s and you lose the, you know, Myra was the love of my life and we were together 16 years and I didn’t ever think I was going to be with anybody else.
“I thought that was my life mapped out. So when I met Linda and I fell in love, it was instant love when we met each other. It really was and I’m just so happy.”

Tom Hiddleston to star in The Night Manager’s second season, say reports

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Night Manager’ is returning for a second season.
Tom Hiddleston, 42, is tipped to reprise his role as luxury resort night manager Jonathan Pine, in the follow-up to the TV adaption of the John Le Carre novel.
According to Deadline, the project – which has the codename ‘Steelworks’ and has original writer Dan Farr attached to – is set to film later this year across London and South America but has not yet been given the official go-ahead from Amazon and the BBC. When it does, it is expected to get a two-series order.
Speculation about another series has circulated since the end of the first in 2016, which featured Hugh Laurie as arms dealer Richard Roper, who was kidnapped by the Syrians at its conclusion.
It also starred many other famous faces like Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki and David Harewood, scooped up two Emmys and three Golden Globes and inspired a string of other Le Carre projects like 2018’s ‘The Little Drummer Girl’ with Florence Pugh from The Ink Project, which is run by the sons of the late author – who died in December 2020 aged 89 – Simon and Stephen Cornwall.
Since starring in the series seven years ago, Tom has been involved in a number of Hollywood blockbusters – such as continuing his role as Loki in the Marvel adaption of ‘Thor’ – and announced his engagement to actress Zawe Ashton, the mother of his four-month-old baby, a relationship he has made effort to keep “private
In 2017, he said: “I love what I do, and I dedicate myself with absolute commitment to making great art and great entertainment and in my mind, I don’t conflict the two. My work is in the public sphere and I have a private life. And those two things are separate.”

Michael B. Jordan plans to establish Creed universe

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael B. Jordan has hinted at more ‘Creed’ movies.
The 36-year-old actor has made his directorial debut on the new film ‘Creed III’ and revealed that he has plans to expand the ‘Rocky’ spin-off franchise even further.
Michael – who also stars as Adonis ‘Donnie’ Creed – told Deadline at the movie’s Hollywood premiere on Monday (27.02.23): “Building the ‘Creed’ universe is something that I’m really excited about.”
The ‘Just Mercy’ star gave an emotional speech during the event as he thanked the entire cast who had helped him on his first experience behind the camera.
Michael said: “This journey over the last three years has been incredible. Never thought I could do what y’all say I did. I couldn’t have done that without the people that I just named in this incredible, incredible cast. It’s a team effort.
“Every day I tried to show up and I wanted to impress them. I wanted to let them know that I wasn’t doing it just to do the job. And finding the truth within the ‘Creed’ family was really, really important to us.
“So, thank you, guys, so much for having my back every step of the way, even when it’s difficult.”
Jonathan Majors stars in ‘Creed III’ as the boxer’s nemesis Damian ‘Dame’ Anderson and explained that Jordan is taking the franchise in a new direction.
He said: “Michael is really trying to do something different with this Creed. Something that’s a bit more intimate.
“With intimacy comes complexity. It’s he and I. It’s a story about these two men trying to work something out, and it’s very different from the others.”

Corey Stoll relished his return to Ant-Man

OHMYGOSSIP — Corey Stoll didn’t need persuading to star in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’.
The 46-year-old actor returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Darren Cross/MODOK in the new blockbuster and jumped at the chance to come back after playing villain Yellowjacket in the original ‘Ant-Man’ film.
Reflecting on his casting, Corey told The Hollywood Reporter: “I got a call from my manager saying, ‘Peyton (Reed, director) wants to talk to you about possibly coming back in the next movie and possibly coming back in a different form’, and I didn’t know what that meant.
“For the days I was waiting between knowing I had the call and talking to Peyton, my mind went into all these crazy ideas about what I could be playing, and with the multiverse, anything could happen. But I did not think of MODOK.”
Corey – who has appeared in a number of Shakespeare productions on the stage – did not need to be convinced to take the part as he was motivated by his fear of the role.
The ‘First Man’ star said: “But there was no selling going on. I think Peyton thought he was going to have to convince me, because he called me before they actually wrote it.
“They had this idea to transform Darren into MODOK, but they wanted to make sure that I was on board to play him before they wrote it. And I was a hundred per cent on board.”
Corey continued: “I know you were joking by comparing him to (my) Shakespearean roles, but the roles that scare you are the ones that you need to do. And this role was so crazy.
“You’re putting so much faith into the hands of the filmmakers to complete your performance, and it’s so broad. But there was no way I could not do it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Annie Jones, Rebekah Elmaloglou, Georgie Stone and Tim Kano are all returning to ‘Neighbours’.
The Australian soap is due to return to screens later this year after Amazon Freevee bought the rights just months after the show came to an end last July after 37 years on screen and now it has been announced that the quartet – who play Jane Harris, Terese Willis, Mackenzie Hargreaves and Leo Tanaka respectively – have all confirmed they will be back as series regulars.

The seven stars will join previously-announced ‘Neighbours’ legends Stefan Dennis, Alan Fletcher, Jackie Woodburne and Ryan Moloney in coming back to the show.

Only found out Neighbours was returning when you all did, so I have no idea if I’m coming back! But thanks for asking and wanting more of Mackenzie.”
And while April Rose Pengilly admitted news the show has been saved is “very exciting”, she had no idea if she would be heading back to Erinsborough.
She commented: “Before you all start asking me about the Neighbours news that just dropped. I/most of us don’t know anything about it and are finding out at the same time as you, so don’t have any info for you, sorry! Very exciting news for you all, though.(sic)”
She then shared the announcement video and said: “This is all the info I have for you so please stop DMing me haha.(sic)”

Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan join The Weeknd’s major feature film debut

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan have been cast in The Weeknd’s feature film lead debut.
The singer – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – has co-written the screenplay with Reza Fahim with Trey Edward Shuts at the helm, and it will mark his first major movie role.
As reported by Deadline, he’ll be joined in the film by the ‘Wednesday’ star and the ‘Banshees of Inisherin’ actor.
The project is currently in production, but no name has been revealed and plot details are still being kept under wraps.
It’s said while Ortega and Keoghan have each had several offers to consider after both having a big 2022, they were both keen to make this their next project.
Although Tesfaye had a small cameo of himself in ‘Uncut Gems’, this will mark his feature acting debut in a leading role, while he is also working with Fahim on HBO’s ‘The Idol’, which the star co-created with ‘Euphoria’ boss Sam Levison.
Keoghan will next be seen in ‘Saltburn’, a follow-up to Emerald Fennell’s ‘Promising Young Woman’.
Ortega – who has previously starred in Netflix’s ‘You’ – saw her star rise even higher after taking the lead in ‘Wednesday’ for the streaming service.
Following the ‘Addams Family’ spin-off series, she’ll be reprising her role as Tara Carpenter in ‘Scream VI’, which will feature franchise legends Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers) and Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed).
Neve Campbell won’t be returning as Sidney Prescott after admitting she didn’t feel “valued” by the deal she was offered”, but Ortega previously insisted the movie is so action-packed, fans will be distracted from her absence.
She said: “I feel like I can’t really speak too much on that just because it’s not necessarily my character, but I will say there’s so much going on in this next one, that it’s so action-heavy and so gore-heavy that I think you’re gonna be distracted almost.”

Bette Midler unsure if Hocus Pocus 3 will happen

OHMYGOSSIP — Bette Midler is unsure if there will be another ‘Hocus Pocus’ film because “everything is weird”.
The 77-year-old actress reprised her role as witch Winnie Sanderson in the fantasy comedy sequel for Disney+ last year, almost 30 years after the original was released, but she’s now admitted she is unsure if there will be further installments in the series.
Asked about the prospect, she told E! News:”I’m not sure. Everything is weird. I don’t know, maybe. Who knows?”
‘Beaches’ star Bette recently claimed that she would “of course” sign up to appear in a third instalment of the series alongside fellow Sanderson sisters Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy but is unsure how it could work in terms of the story.
She said: “If there was a third one, of course, I’d sign on, but I don’t know how. I can’t imagine what the story would be, but I love Winifred, Sarah, Mary, and our relationship. It’s good for women. We stick together through hell and high water, but we do cause mayhem, and not many women cause that much mayhem!”
Her co-stars have discussed the possibility of an animated movie.
Sarah said recently: “Kathy had a good idea that the third one should be animated.
“Of course I’d be happy to have a conversation. It just depends on what Kathy and Bette want!”
Bette previously admitted she had never expected to make a sequel to the 1993 cult classic.
Asked if she ever expected the release of ‘Hocus Pocus 2’, she said: “I didn’t until the day finally came. And then, I realised, ‘Oh, we’re really gonna do this.’ This was a dream come true, it really was.
“After I realised it was actually a phenomenon, I started asking people around my age, ‘Don’t you think they would be interested in a sequel?’ This was like 15 years ago, or something like that. And here we are.”

Make Me Prime Minister ‘axed by Channel 4’ after one series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Make Me Prime Minister’ has reportedly been cancelled by Channel 4.
The reality TV show – which appeared on screens last year just after Boris Johnson left Downing Street and was briefly replaced by Liz Truss and current PM Rishi Sunak – has been axed after one series despite significant political buzz at the time.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “There was a sense that after having three prime ministers in just five weeks, the country had had enough jostling to reach the top of the greasy pole.
“With a concept that had never been seen before, the programme was always something of a TV experiment which could have been a success or a flop.
“But trailblazing Channel 4 are never afraid to risk failure and try out a new idea.”
The show – which drew some comparisons to ‘The Apprentice’ – was launched to find the nation’s best “alternative” leader, and saw 12 contestants taking on various tasks to assess their potential.
The likes of local government official and viral star Jackie Weaver appeared alongside side DJ and actor Goldie’s son Danny Price, with former Conservative cabinet minister Baroness Warsi appearing alongside journalist and former Labour politician Alastair Campbell.
Former prime ministers Tony Blair and David Cameron were both featured in cameo roles.
The series – which aired weekly for six episode until the finale in November 2022 – was won by medical communications director Natalie Balmain.
Equality and diversity inclusion manager Kelly Given finished as runner-up and former footballer and sports agent Holly Horgan joining them in the final.
Speaking before the show’s launch, Campbell commented: “Done properly, being Prime Minister is about a tough a job as anyone can do.
“It is great that so many people think they can do it and I am looking forward to working with Sayeeda Warsi to guide and challenge them to see if they really have what it takes.”

Julie Walters forced to quit Channel 4 drama due to poor health

OHMYGOSSIP — Julie Walters has been forced to quit ‘Truelove’ due to poor health.
The 73-year-old actress was set to play Phil in the upcoming Channel 4 drama but the project was paused last year as she suffered from severe back pain, and now it’s confirmed she won’t be returning when filming resumes in Bristol later this year.
In a statement, Clerkenwell Films told Deadline: “Last year, filming on Truelove was paused while Julie Walters sought medical advice and attention for severe back pain.
“Subsequently, Julie has decided to step back from the project to focus on her recovery and recuperation, and so will not be returning to the role of Phil.
“We wholeheartedly support her decision, and the entire cast, crew and production team wish her the very best and a speedy recovery.”
She will be replaced in the show by Lindsay Duncan, who described the character as an “intelligent, tough and complex woman”.
She added: “It’s so well written, exploring what we face when age becomes a factor.”
In the drama, Phil and Ken (Clarke Peters) are recently retired childhood sweethearts who reconnected in the 70s after decades apart from each other.
They meet at a funeral with a group of friends and discuss what an “ideal” death could be, and decide to make a drunken agreement to ensure a dignified death for one another.
Clerkenwell Films continued: “We are delighted that Lindsay Duncan will be stepping into the role of Phil.
“We’re excited to see what she brings to this complex and captivating character when we restart filming later this year.”
The role would have been Julie’s first acting job in six years, and when her casting was initially announced she admitted at one time she didn’t expect to ever return to the screen.
She said: “I had basically withdrawn from acting and wasn’t sure that anything could tempt me back but then I read Truelove.
“I was completely bowled over by the writing – the dark humour, the love story and the thriller element set against a backdrop of what happens to us all as we approach our later years.
“I adore the character of Phil – smart, funny and hard-edge, how often does one have the chance at my tender age to play a leading lady in a TV drama?”

The Traitors won’t introduce celebrity players for season two

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Traitors’ will not introduce celebrity contestants for season two.
The hit BBC reality show – which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman – saw 22 contestants completing a range of challenges as they tried to find the traitors hiding among the faithful, and some fans had been concerned bosses would tweak the format after it was commissioned for a second run.
However, the broadcaster has told RadioTimes.com that the programme won’t be following the lead of the US version, which saw ordinary people mixed in with famous faces.
Instead, they will stick with the formula which saw them bring together a diverse lineup of people with memorable personalities.
This week, the BBC confirmed Claudia will be back to front the nail-biting psychological reality competition, which sees 22 strangers play the game of detection, backstabbing and trust in a bid to win £120,000.
She said: “I can’t wait to go back to the castle to watch people play the greatest game on television. I’m knitting a high funnel sweater immediately.”
In series one – which was filmed at a Scottish castle, and has been watched 34 million times on BBC iPlayer – three Faithfuls, Aaron, Hannah and Meryl, outsmarted the Traitors and took home a third each of the £101,050 prize pot.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC, said: “Last year’s ambitious and bingeable hit ‘The Traitors’ with Claudia Winkleman is coming back with the brilliant team at Studio Lambert set to bring viewers another magnificent series full of drama and suspense.
“We can certainly expect even more deceit and psychological games for the Traitors and Faithfuls.”
The BBC is currently looking for applicants to appear in the second series of the show.

Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse land two more series of Gone Fishing

OHMYGOSSIP — Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse have signed up for two more series of ‘Gone Fishing’.
The BBC Two programme follows the ex ‘Shooting Stars’ comedian, 63, and the ‘Fast Show’ alum, 64, as they take it easy and discuss life while angling around the Great British countryside.
The show’s official Twitter posted: “We’re coming back, again and again.”
According to reports, the first of the newly ordered installments will arrive on screens later this year and the other will come sometime in 2024.
As quoted by the Daily Star newspaper, commissioning editor Max Gogarty added: “We are delighted ‘Gone Fishing’ will be coming back.
“This show brings a huge amount of joy, catharsis and escapism to millions each week, and we’re thrilled the boys will be back.”
Some of the destinations they will explore have already been shared as they touch on all four of the UK’s home nations, with locations including the country’s oldest pub, while they will also set up camp next to a lake brimming with carp.
Fan favourite pooch Ted – who often appears alongside Bob and Paul – will celebrate a birthday on the show as they drop their lines in spots from Wales, Shropshire, Wiltshire, the Scottish Borders and Devon.
During their last Christmas special, the pair travelled all the way to Norway to test some Scandi waters.
Along with this beloved series, Paul has been treading the boards in the West End musical version of ‘Only Fools and Horses’ and Bob has been working on other projects like ‘The Glove’, a comedy film with his long time collaborator Vic Reeves that has been in production since 2018.
A description for the flick reads: “‘The Glove’ is a comedy road movie about two best friends in search of a mythical training glove. Vic and Bob are childhood friends who own a junk shop together where they both work and live. Profits are down and with their futures in jeopardy, they approach their obnoxious landlord to explain their ‘rent’ problems.
“Rather than helping them, the unsavoury character gives them a choice: eviction, or locate for him a rare and unusual item… What follows is a madcap road movie across Britain as they enter the world of strange collectables and celebrity memorabilia in search of the elusive glove.”

The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ alum – who already presents the Drivetime slot with co-host Vick Hope – is gunning for the the gig despite the show currently being helmed by his “best mate” Greg James.
The 33-year-old star told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Being on the radio really is a privilege. It genuinely is the best job in the world. There isn’t a day I go on air with Vick and we don’t have a laugh.
“Yeah, I’ve got a plan, I do want to do the breakfast show. Not right now as Greg is my best mate and he is absolutely smashing it, but I do want to do breakfast one day.
“It’s always going to be in the back of your mind that one day you are going to have to leave, that you won’t be in the job forever. You would be stupid to think you are fine and you have years left, as you might not get your contract renewed.”
Jordan added that he was “really happy” with his current job, which he has had since 2021 after serving as a stand-in for former hosts Nick Grimshaw and Scott Mills since 2014.
In 2021, when it was announced he would be joining Vick full time, he said: “I am absolutely chuffed to be making the move over to Radio 1 daytime and even happier to be working alongside Vick.”
Recently, the ‘Go Hard or Go Home’ presenter was forced to apologise after making a sweary gaffe when discussing the nation’s preference when it comes to bedding.
Jordan accidentally said: “For me, it’s fitted s****,” before quickly acknowledging the on-air gaffe.
He instantly apologised, saying: Oh god, sorry, sorry , I apologise, I am so sorry. I meant to say sheets.”
Vick saw the funny side, adding: “There really annoying.”

‘The Instigators’ is the latest flick to be made by Matt and Ben’s Artists Equity studio and the ‘Deep Water’ star explained that he wanted to focus on quality films as he took aim at Netflix for their “assembly line process” of making movies.
The 50-year-old actor said: “If you ask (Netflix co-CEO and chairman) Reed Hastings… he’d say, ‘Hey, we went for quantity to establish a footprint.’
“I’m sure there’s wisdom in that and I’m sure they had a great strategy, but I would have said, ‘How are we going to make 50 great movies? How is that possible?’ There’s no committee big enough. There aren’t enough – you just can’t do it.”
Ben continued: “It’s a thing that requires attention and dedication and work and resists the assembly line process.
“(Netflix’s head of original films) Scott Stuber is a really talented, smart guy who I really like… but it’s an impossible job.”

Jonathan Ross is ‘glad’ he’s never interviewed a member of the Royal Family

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Ross is “glad” he has never interviewed a member of the Royal Family
The ‘Masked Singer’ judge and talk show host is keen to not “get involved” with all their drama but has nothing but nice things about the royals, having “met them all”.
The 62-year-old star told the Metro newspaper’s Sixty Seconds column: “I’ve never interviewed anyone in the royal family and at the moment I’m quite glad that’s the case. I don’t want to get involved in other people’s business. I’ve met them all, though.
“I met the Queen several times, which always felt very special. Prince Philip was always quite funny. I think I met Harry briefly. I’ve met William a lot. I haven’t met Kate. I have met Andrew but we don’t talk about that any more. Charles I’ve met loads of times, and Camilla is a laugh.”
Meanwhile, Jonathan also has no interest interviewing the disgraced former health secretary Matt Hancock despite his stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here’.
He said: “To be honest, I didn’t veto him. I wouldn’t want him on because he hasn’t done anything of worth to talk to him about. There are very few politicians I have much respect for.
“It does seem we’re not in a strong place ideologically or politically. We had Boris on when he denied he wanted to run for prime minister years ago, and we all knew it was bulls***. Of course you do. We’re in a time where people lie brazenly.
“My one guideline when we’re booking people is can they at least be good at what they do?”
And the ‘Jonathan Ross Show’ host admitted he was once caught “dozing off” by the ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ team when he was filming with his wife Jane Goldman, 52, and his kids, Honey Kinny, 26, Betty Kitten, 31, and Harvey Kirby, 29.
Jonathan said: “They were speaking a lot but you heard me more in the edit and I wish they’d used their stuff more. On one show, it was very hot and the producer said, ‘We’re just gonna open a window.’ I realised it was because I was dozing off a lot!”
