Prince Harry’s Nazi uniform shame ‘to be shown in new series of The Crown’

OHMYGOSSIP — The next series of ‘The Crown’ will reportedly feature the Duke of Sussex’s Nazi uniform scandal.
Netflix is said to be planning to show the “native and colonial” fancy dress
party the royal, who was then 20, turned up to dressed in a shirt emblazoned with a swastika – which he recently called one of the “biggest mistakes” of his life.
A source told The Sun, which featured a picture of Harry dressed as a member of Rommel’s Afrika Korps in its ‘Harry The Nazi’ front page from 2005: “It is one of the most shameful incidents in Harry’s life and one that he finally addressed in December.
“Older generations will remember The Sun’s ‘Harry The Nazi’ story and photo but this past episode in Harry’s life may come as news to Netflix’s many younger viewers.
“In more recent times, Harry has made claims about racism in the UK and unconscious bias in the Royal Family on Netflix. It is kind of ironic that Netflix is the one to bring up this incident.”
Harry wore the costume – which featured the Nazis’ swastika on his arm and the badge of the German Wehrmacht on his collar – to a party hosted by Olympic showjumper Richard Meade.
He attended the event with his older brother Prince William, 40, who reportedly dressed in a skin-tight black leotard with a leopard skin pattern and matching leopard skin tail and paws.
Harry had also worn an army-style jacket with a German flag on the arm earlier in the evening.
The Royal Family rapidly apologised for Harry’s outfit after a picture of it emerged, but the duke failed to address the incident until three months ago.
He said in the third episode of his ‘Harry and Meghan’ Netflix docuseries it had brought him “shame” and he had been intent on making “it right”.
Harry will be played by actor Luther Ford in the upcoming sixth series of ‘The Crown’ as a teenager, while Ed McVey will play William.

Pedro Pascal loves newfound fame so much he holds cameras for selfie-hunters

OHMYGOSSIP — Pedro Pascal loves his newfound fame thanks to his role on ‘The Last of Us’ so much he holds selfie-hunters’ cameras.
The actor – dubbed “The Ultimate Daddy” by followers of Sky Atlantic’s sci-fi hit – has seen himself propelled to global popularity aged 47 after roles in shows including 2015’s ‘Narcos’ and the lead part in ‘The Mandalorian’ since 2019.
Pedro told The Sun about loving his fans: “I would hold the camera so often for people. I would be taking the picture for you guys. I got a more intimate impression of that type of attention.
“But it’s been nothing but positive. It’s opened doors for me that had been closed for many years.”
The finale of ‘The Last of Us is on Sky Atlantic on Monday (13.03.23) at 9pm and has already been commissioned for a second series.
Pedro is referred to as “The Daddy” due to his hero character Joel being a father figure to young girl Ellie, played by 19-year-old Bella Ramsey.
He is tasked with protecting her as she has a mysterious immunity to the cordyceps virus that has left the world a post-apocalyptic nightmare filled with zombies.
Pedro also laughed off his new sex symbol status, saying his looks were once described as “Orlando Bloom if he’d been hit in the face by a shovel”.
He added about barely remembering he had landed the part in ‘The Last of Us’ as the call came after he took a sleeping tablet: “It was really late. I’ve got to get up in the morning, so I take a sleeping tablet.
“But I get a call, and I get told that I got the job after I took the tablet.
“So I was excited, I guess, but I didn’t remember.
“The first thing that occurred to me was like, ‘Oh man, I really want that job. I’m in London, they’re in LA. I’m going to wait by the phone all day long.’
“When I looked at my phone I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I got the job!’”

Eva Longoria had a point to prove with Flamin’ Hot

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria had something to “prove” on her directorial debut ‘Flamin’ Hot’.
The 47-year-old star has helmed the biographical drama that tells the story of Richard Montanez (Jesse Garcia) – who claimed that he invented Flamin’ Hot Cheetos – and Longoria was determined to make the most of the opportunity behind the camera.
Eva told The Hollywood Reporter at the South by Southwest festival: “We don’t get these roles every day. These roles that have so much meat on the bone. To play different period pieces. To play somebody, but your interpretation. That doesn’t come along every day.
“We get one bite of the apple and we all kind of knew that.”
The ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress already has plans to direct more movies and explained how ‘Flamin’ Hot’ has left her with high expectations for her future projects as she recently turned down a script that “didn’t speak” to her.
Eva said: “If I don’t feel that way about this particular movie when I read a new script, I don’t think I’m ever directing again. I care so deeply about this movie that I was like, ‘Does that have to be every time?'”
The star previously explained how the “rags to riches” nature of the story was an instrumental factor in her getting behind the camera on her first feature film.
Longoria said: “This script and story found its way to me and to my heart, and I was like, ‘I have to tell this story’. I have such an interest in all the themes that we explore in the movie: underdog story, rags to riches, adversity, and overcoming obstacles.
“All of those things that I was like – these are the themes I want to explore and this is the story I want to tell it through.”

Jessica Chastain cast in I Am Not Alone

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Chastain is to star in ‘I Am Not Alone’.
Netflix has triumphed in a competitive bidding war to acquire the rights to the short story by Chris Hicks that will serve as a star vehicle for Jessica.
‘Lovecraft Country’ showrunner Misha Green is to direct and write the script for the movie.
Five bidders were in the race to acquire the film and it came down to Netflix and Warner Bros. The streamer eventually won out as Green wanted to work with the company.
The 22-page short story begins with the prologue: “I began seeing the creatures about a week before Zoe’s visit.”
The tale centres around a mother of a young daughter whose life begins to unravel when she suffers unbearable migraines that cause her to hallucinate as she begins to see creatures.
Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, Craig Flores, Scott Glassgold and Peter Katz along with Jessica and her Freckle Pictures partner Kelly Carmichael.
Kinberg – who has worked with Chastain on three previous features – said: “I’m a massive fan of Misha’s work, and been friends with Craig for years, so when I got sent this story and heard they were involved, I absolutely flipped out.
“Misha’s vision for it is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. And getting to work with Jessica again makes it even dreamier.”
Flores added: “Collaborating again with visionary writer-director Misha Green and her unique literary voice on this sci-fi horror franchise is an absolute dream. And combining two creative powerhouses like Misha and Simon Kinberg is more than any producer could ask for.”

Amy Nuttall ‘in talks to compete in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing to heal heartbreak’

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Nuttall is reportedly in talks to compete in this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Downtown Abbey’ and ex-‘Emmerdale’ actress, 40, is said to be holdings negotiations to appear on the BBC show weeks after her 44-year-old husband Andrew Buchan – who is now living with his 40-year-old BBC One ‘Better’ co-star Leila Farzad – walked out.
A source told The Sun Amy thinks the dance contest could give her the “fresh start she needs” and she’s thought to have been inspired by 39-year-old presenter Helen Skelton’s appearance on ‘Strictly’ last year after her eight-year marriage to rugby player Richie Myler, 32, ended.
The insider added: “Amy has been left broken by Andrew’s actions and feels humiliated by the whole ordeal.
“She wants to move on and not let the messy break-up define her. ‘Strictly’ would be the perfect way for her to do that and hopefully restore the confidence she is lacking right now.
“It’s not clear if everyone involved is up for it as emotions are very raw.”
Amy married actor Andrew, famed for playing Mark Latimer in ‘Broadchurch’, in 2012, and the couple had a son and daughter.
His new girlfriend Leila married her husband James Maizels in 2013, and they had a daughter a year later.
It is not yet known when they split.
Andrew’s alleged affair with Leila was exposed after Amy discovered that he had purchased racy lingerie in a size that was not her own.
Friends claimed he told Amy he wanted to end their marriage just before Christmas.
Amy found fame playing Chloe Atkinson from the age of 18 on ITV’s ‘Emmerdale’ in 2000, staying in the job for eight years before she left the show to pursue a music career.
She has also played Ethel Parks in the BBC’s ‘Downton Abbey’, with her character losing her job at the Downton estate after she has an affair with an army officer.

Melissa Barrera had a hand in Scream VI script edits

OHMYGOSSIP — Melissa Barrera pushed for changes to be made to the ‘Scream VI’ script.
The 32-year-old actress reprises her role as Sam Carpenter in the latest installment of the horror franchise and revealed that she had discussions with film chiefs to make sure that her character’s psyche was explored.
Melissa told Collider: “So the script changed a lot from the first script that I got to the movie that we made. It was, I want to say, completely different.
“And we had a few sit downs, (directors) Matt (Bettinelli-Olpin) and Tyler (Gillett) and I, and then with (screenwriters) Jamie (Vanderbilt) and Guy (Busick) because I really, really wanted to make sure that we explored Sam’s psyche more and we got to know her deeply because that was a reason that I wanted to play Sam in the first place.
“The reason that I was attracted to her in ‘Scream 5’ was like, ‘Oh my God, there’s so much potential here. Where is she going to go?’ And I wanted to make sure in the sixth movie, we saw more layers to her.”
Melissa explained that she has had a “big perspective shift” in her career over the past year after starring in smaller projects such as ‘The Collaboration’.
The ‘In The Heights’ actress said: “I’ve realised how smaller films are more creatively satisfying in a way because you get a lot more say, and it’s like a real team effort.
“It’s like basically everyone is kind of sacrificing a lot to do this very low budget thing and make it look good and make it the best that it can be, and having the highest hopes for something knowing that you don’t have the huge back of a studio. I think it makes you hungrier.”

Guillermo del Toro wants more support for animated movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Guillermo del Toro called for more support for animated films after his adaptation of ‘Pinocchio’ triumphed at the Oscars.
The stop-motion animated film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film on Sunday (12.03.23) and the filmmaker thinks that the practice should be taken more seriously by Hollywood.
Speaking backstage at the ceremony, Guillermo said: “Animation is ready to be taken to the next step.
“Animation is cinema, animation is not a genre… Keep animation in the conversation.”
The 58-year-old director is promising to finance stop-motion classes for children in his native Mexico but thinks it will require more than an Oscar victory to aid animators.
Guillermo, who has now won three Academy Awards, said: “This is an art form that has kept being kneecapped commercially and industrially and the kid’s table for so long.
“And it really is a mature, expressive, beautiful, complex, art form. So a win helps, but it is about going forward as a community.”
The director continued: “It’s important that we keep this alive as an industry and an art form. I have right now two scholarships active for filmmakers, and it is my desire and my commitment now to finance a stop-motion class (in Mexico).
“It will help us give more movies in the community in Mexico and in Latin America, to keep pushing for stop-motion, which is one of the most democratic forms of animation.
“All the other forms of animation are too difficult or too expensive. But a kid can put a camera on the wall in their room, they can do animation in stop-motion.”

‘I am so shocked!’ Love Island 2023 winners revealed!

OHMYGOSSIP — Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan have won ‘Love Island.’
The 24-year-old PE teacher and social worker Sanman, also 24, had coupled up during their time on the hit ITV2 reality dating show and will now receive £50,000 as the winning pair from the 2023 winter series.
Immediately after hearing their names called on Monday’s episode (13.03.23), Sanam told host Maya Jama: “I can’t believe it, I’m shocked to even be here!”
The victorious couple had fought off competition in the public vote from the likes of Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall – who finished as runners up in the series – as well as third-placed couple Samie Elishi and Tom Clare and Sanman reflected just moments before the win that Kai was “always” the one for her.
She said: “For me, it was always Kai, like I always said he was my number one. Obviously, he is a very attractive guy but I fell in love with everything. Everything about him, I just, I just loved it. I really didn’t think I was gonna be here. I’m going to cry!”
Kai – who had previously been coupled up with Olivia Hawkins before Sanam made her debut as a bombshell arrival midway through the series – noted that his journey on the show had been a “rollercoaster” but he is looking forward to treating Sanam away from the glamour of the South African villa.
“Yeah it’s been a rollercoaster! But literally, she blew me away. I think it’s the eyes. I always to her that it was the first conversation we had, she did the eyes. But she doesn’t do it anymore! After that first one, we just got closer and closer.
“She doesn’t leave my side and I absolutely love her. In here, it’s amazing and you have so many people working around you, arranging the most amazing dates ever but I can’t wait to be able to put my time and effort into her and show her how amazing she is. On the outside, she’s gonna be my girlfriend but I want that control. I’m gonna make it so special and I have told her so many times that she is gonna be my girlfriend on the outside. So keep a look out!”
‘Love Island’ aired on ITV2 and ITVX and can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Corrie’s Tony Maudsley signs new contract with ITV soap

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ star Tony Maudsley has signed a new contract with the ITV soap.
The actor plays undertaker George Shuttleworth, the love interest of Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver), on the long-running show and he’ll be continuing in the role until “at least July 2024”.
He tweeted: “I only told her I’d signed a new contract and this is what happens! I thought she’d be pleased!
“That’s George keeping Eyelash on her toes until at least July 2024, and I couldn’t be happier.”
Tony, who first joined the soap in 2020, previously admitted he hopes that his character doesn’t get killed off.
He said in 2021: “They can’t get rid of George, as there would be no one to bury him!
“I hope that doesn’t happen in the near future, as I’m happy on ‘Corrie’. And fans are saying it’s nice to see Eileen smiling again. I think George is good for her!”
Tony revealed that he is hopeful that his alter ego ties the knot with Eileen but admits that he has visions of the ceremony going “horribly wrong”.
The former ‘Benidorm’ star said: “I have visions of it all going horribly wrong, though, with Eileen arriving at the church in a big white dress on the back of a hearse! If they do get married, I hope it’s not a quiet registry office do. Let’s go big and put Sue in a huge meringue.”
Tony says that he and Sue are rooting for their characters to get married and that fans hope the pair can emulate iconic Weatherfield couple, Jack and Vera Duckworth.
He added: “I tweeted a picture of us the other day from our camping trip and the picture has had nearly 3,000 likes with so many lovely comments. People say that they want George and Eileen to be the new Jack and Vera, which is the biggest compliment. Those characters were so special and so brilliant.”

Scream VI directors insist Neve Campbell exit didn’t ‘change much’ about movie’s structure

OHMYGOSSIP — Neve Campbell’s departure didn’t “really change much” about ‘Scream VI’.
The franchise icon decided not to return to the slasher film series as Sidney Prescott – having reprised her role in last year’s reboot – over issues with her contract offer, and while directors Matt Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett were “bummed” she wasn’t involved, they praised the way writers Guy Busick and James Vanderbilt had “created the structure of the movie”.
The duo, who are part of production company Radio Silence, told Collider: “We found out early on in pre-production that Neve wasn’t gonna do this one and there had been drafts and ideas and stuff going around, but the thing that Guy and Jamie did that was so great and really helped us is that they had created the structure of the movie that I don’t think ever really changed much.
“Stuff like the motives, that shifted, but the movie from kind of a bird’s eye view didn’t change that much.”
The team were determined to make sure fans “fall in love” with the so-called Core Four, made up of new franchise heroes Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera), Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega), Mindy Meeks-Martin (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and Chad Meeks-Martin (Mason Gooding).
Bettinelli-Olpin added: “Obviously we were super bummed when Neve wasn’t going to do it, and the thing that we immediately went to was like, ‘Okay, if we’re not doing this with Neve again, we have to make sure that you fall in love with these characters the way that we all fell in love with Sidney and Gale and Dewey.
“So we took that responsibility really, really seriously and made sure that if we do our job right, you leave this movie going, ‘Oh, I love the Core Four and I want their journey to continue the same way that we all want Sidney and Gale and Dewey to continue.’”
However, it was also important for everyone involved to still honour Sidney (Campbell), Dewey Riley (David Arquette) and Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), with the latter being the only member of the Big Three still in the franchise.
Gillett said: “[Sidney] means so much to the franchise and to us, and it was important that she be present sort of spiritually in the movie, but the only way to really honor her was to also make a great ‘Scream’ movie, and do the Core Four justice.”

‘We made the best movie we could’: Black Adam’s Dwayne Johnson addresses Henry Cavill’s Superman exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has compared Henry Cavill’s Superman’s exit from the DC Universe to a football team getting a new coach and deciding your “not my quarterback”.
The DC slate of films has been undergoing an overhaul ever since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over, with Henry’s Superman comeback one of the casualties of the new regime.
And Dwayne has insisted they put their “best foot forward” with the film with Henry back as the superhero alongside Dawyne in the titular anti-hero role and made “the best movie we could”.
Speaking to Variety, he said: “All that I can do, and all that we could do when we were making ‘Black Adam,’ was to put our best foot forward and surround ourselves with the best people and deliver the best movie we could.
“Our audience score was in the 90s. Critics took a couple shots, but that’s just the business of it.”
On Henry’s exit, Dwayne added: “It’s almost like when you have a pro football team and your quarterback wins championships and your head coach wins championships and then a new owner comes in and says, ‘Not my coach, not my quarterback. I’m going to go with somebody new.’”
‘Black Adam’ also isn’t part of the “first chapter” of the takeover.
The Rock said in a previous statement: “I wanted to give you a long-awaited Black Adam update regarding the character’s future in the new DC Universe.
“James Gunn and I connected, and Black Adam will not be in their first chapter of storytelling.
“However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilised in future DC multiverse chapters.”
He insisted he will “always root” for both DC and Marvel to succeed, and he remains “very proud” of ‘Black Adam’ as a movie.
He continued: “You guys know me, and I have very thick skin – and you can always count on me to be direct with my words.
“These decisions made by James and DC leadership represent their vision of DCU through their creative lens.
“After 15 years of relentless hard work to finally make Black Adam, I’m very proud of the film we delivered for fans worldwide.
“I will always look back on the fan reaction to Black Adam with tremendous gratitude, humility and love. We did great.”
He also promised to “always listen” to fans and joked he needed some of his own Tequila after an eventful few weeks.
He added: “To my very passionate and vocal Black Adam/Super Hero genre fans – I love you, THANK YOU, and I will ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOU and do my best to deliver and entertain you.
“What a helluva month – now we all need some Teremana!”
Responding to Dwayne’s statement, James teased plans to “collaborate” in the near future.
He tweeted: “Love the Rock, and I’m always excited to see what he and Seven Bucks do next. Can’t wait to collaborate soon.”

Gary Lineker to ‘step back’ from presenting Match of the Day after Nazi comments, BBC says

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Lineker is to “step back” from presenting ‘Match of the Day’ for the foreseeable future.
The 62-year-old former footballer has fronted the BBC sports commentary programme since 1999 but following his controversial tweets – in which criticised Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s asylum policy and likened the language used by ministers to “that used by Germany in the 30s” – and now the broadcaster has decided that he will not be seen on screen again until they have reached a “clear agreement” on what his “use of social media” actually means.
In a statement, the BBC said: “The BBC has been in extensive discussions with Gary and his team in recent days. We have said that we consider his recent social media activity to be a breach of our guidelines.
“The BBC has decided that he will step back from presenting ‘Match of the Day’ until we’ve got an agreed and clear position on his use of social media.
“When it comes to leading our football and sports coverage, Gary is second to none. We have never said that Gary should be an opinion-free zone, or that he can’t have a view on issues that matter to him, but we have said that he should keep well away from taking sides on party political issues or political controversies.”
Just hours before the announcement, the former Leicester City FC star branded the backlash as an “out of proportion” story and was “looking forward” to returning to his usual Saturday slot on BBC One.
He tweeted: “Happy that this ridiculously out of proportion story seems to be abating and very much looking forward to presenting [Match of the Day] on Saturday. Thanks again for all your incredible support. It’s been overwhelming…”

One of these couples will NOT make it to the final after shocking vote…

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie Wynter, Will Young, Kai Fagan, Sanam Harrinanan, Lana Jenkins, and Ron Hall are all at risk of being dumped from ‘Love Island.’
The three respective couples are all taking part in the hit ITV2 show but have all been voted “least compatible” by their fellow Islanders and one of them will miss out on a place on Sunday’s (13.03.23) final following a public vote.
On Friday’s episode, Tanya Manhenga – who is the girlfriend of Shaq Muhammed – received a text whilst around the firepit and read out: “Islanders, on your final dates, you had to decide which couple you think is the least compatible. The couples voted least compatible are Jessie and Will with two votes, and Kai with one vote, Lana and Ron with two votes. These couples are now vulnerable and all at risk of being dumped from the island.”
Following the revelations, Ron remarked: “It is what it is. I would like to hear it though. I think we’re all friends now, we’re just interested to see what the reasons are”
Lana replied: “Yeah but you’re just opening a can of worms if we go, if we go.It’s just not nice, is it? I don’t really want to talk about it any more to be honest.”
We know we’re compatible, we’ve never been in the bottom three for compatibility”
“If it is our time, then it’s our time. And we’ll face it. and we’ll do it together.”
It later emerged that Jessie and Will and Lana and Ron had all voted for each other in the task.
Whilst discussing the situation with Samie Elishi – who is coupled up with footballer Tom Clare – about who may have voted for who, Tanya said: “They’re going to be thrown into a place where they’re not going to know anything. I think if we had more options…but we don’t know. Everyone is just going off ifs, buts, and maybes. But everyone is human, it’s gonna sting. But I ain’t saying s***!”
‘Love Island’ continues tomorrow 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX and can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Steven Moffat returning to Doctor Who?

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Moffat is returning to ‘Doctor Who’.
The 61-year-old writer penned scripts for the sci-fi saga under Russell T. Davies’ tenure as showrunner when the programme was rebooted in 2005, before taking the reins himself from 2010 to 2017, and now his friend is back in the hotseat, he’s set to come back again to write for new Time Lord Ncuti Gatwa.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Russell’s on a mission to make ‘Doctor Who’ great again, event television not to be missed, which is what it was for many years during his and Steven’s tenures in charge of the show.
“One of the ways he can do that is to ensure he has the best possible people writing for the programme.
“He has nothing but respect for what Steven achieved with the show and was a fan of his vision as showrunner. He approached him about returning in just a writing capacity because he knows Doctor Who inside out and has a brilliant imagination for adventures in space and time.
“He took some convincing but the chance to contribute to a show he has loved since childhood and see it blossom in a new era with a new Doctor was just too much to resist.”
When he previously worked as a writer on the show, Steven penned fan favourite episodes including ‘The Empty Child’ and ‘The Girl in the Fireplace’, and introduced the sinister Weeping Angels to the programme in ‘Blink’.
As showrunner, he brought in Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and Peter Capaldi as his successor, as well as Karen Gillan and Jenna Coleman as their respective companions.
Steven – who also created ‘Sherlock’ – was in charge of the show’s 50th anniversary special ‘The Day of the Doctor’, which brought together Matt and David Tennant’s Time Lord and introduced the late William Hurt as the War Doctor.
The scriptwriter recently expressed his hope ‘Doctor Who’ can go on forever and heaped praise on returning showrunner Russell.
He said: “I just want it to go on. I want it to not stop. I want it to, and I know Russell’s going to make use of its infinite adaptability to always be the number one predator in the environment.
“That’s what I want. I want it to go on forever. I believe it can. Like the stories of Robin Hood and King Arthur and Sherlock Holmes. Some things always go on.”
