However, Raymond charged his mind and four decades later he can be seen in a gold suit entertaining punters.

Jo Brand doesn’t actually like cakes despite Bake Off role

OHMYGOSSIP — Jo Brand has “never been that keen on cakes” despite hosting the ‘Great British Bake Off’ spin off show.
The 65-year-old comedian has fronted Channel 4’s ‘An Extra Slice’ since 2014, but despite joking about eating sweet treats on stage for a long time, it’s not actually the case.
She told the ‘How To Be 60’ podcast: “When I started doing stand-up I used to talk about cakes.
“And now I do a show about cakes. I’ve never been that keen on cakes really.”
Jo decided to profess her fake love of cakes to combat adverts on television which never showed “fat people” enjoying a slice.
She explained: “The reason I did it was… Do you remember those cake adverts on telly years ago: ‘Naughty but nice?’
“Every person that advertised them was a beautiful woman suggestively licking some sort of doughnut with something coming out of it.
“But you never had fat people advertising cake. So that’s why I did the whole cake thing, just to kind of go, ‘Mehhhhh!’ ”
She previously opened up about one occasion where she bought her own birthday cake in a bid to stop her husband buying one from a “posh French” patisserie with fruit and a “thin layer of what looks like phlegm on top”.
She chose herself a children’s cake, and wanted it icing with the words: “You are a very old woman.”
However, when she opened it she actually found the words: “Happy retirement Wendy.”
Meanwhile, Jo recently discussed the impact of bodyshaming and admitted she is still affected by it today.
She said: “There’s a very different attitude towards it now, which I kind of admire in a way, but I’m saddled with the ‘you shameful hulk’ attitude that we had in my day. It was always the first thing people commented on.
“I just got used to those blows and dealing with them, and it’s fine.
“But I couldn’t bring myself in this day and age to wear what much bigger women wear confidently. I don’t understand how they can do that, but I do admire it.”

Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley open to Dungeons and Dragons sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are open to making more films.
The duo have helmed the movie based on the popular role-playing game and are open to doing more, even though they didn’t explicitly set anything up in the picture.
Jonathan told ComicBook.com at the flick’s South by Southwest premiere: “We didn’t plant any seeds.
“But if we’re lucky enough to make another one, then I think there’s so many places to go. We’ve created these great characters who we would love to see where they are in a year or two.
“We’re also very superstitious. So we don’t like to talk about it.”
Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Hugh Grant all feature in the movie and Daley thinks that the audiences will be surprised by what they see on the big screen.
The 37-year-old filmmaker said: “I’m excited to be in the theatre with people as they hopefully unanimously are shocked by it being a film that they did not expect.
“The scope of it, the adventure and action and also just that there’s laugh out loud (moments) and there’s emotion, I mean, people are really going to feel something at the end of this movie, I hope and think they won’t expect that.”
Hugh plays Forge Fitzwilliam and explained that he was drawn to the movie as it is about a group of “losers”.
The ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ star said in an interview with Pine: “I think maybe what I responded to most in their script was that it’s about losers. This little band of comrades, they’re all a bit c***. You are not great at being a bard.
“And the magician, played by Justice [Smith], is really bad. What do they call magicians in ‘Dungeons and Dragons’?
“Sorcerer. He’s not much good. And Michelle [Rodriguez’s] character has been thrown out of whatever. And is still in love with her husband, who is in love with someone else. And I responded to that loser-ish thing about this little band. Maybe that’s an English predilection. We love a loser.”

Chloe Zhao provides Dracula update

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Zhao is still working on her ‘Dracula’ film.
The 40-year-old director is helming a new movie inspired by the legendary vampire – who first featured in Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel – and confirmed that she is in the process of crafting the screenplay.
Asked if the movie was still in the works, Chloe told The Hollywood Reporter: “Yes, I’m writing the script right now.”
The film was previously described as a “sci-fi Western” and Zhao expressed her desire to bring fresh ideas to the vampire.
The Oscar-winning director said in 2021: “It’s just like looking at Jessica Bruder’s book (‘Nomadland’), and to really see behind the pages, to discover the meanings behind each page and the essence of it.
“I’m a huge fan of the book. And I wanted to see what essence I can find (in ‘Dracula’), and then be able to reimagine this really beloved character I love so much.”
Chloe helmed the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) blockbuster ‘Eternals’ but it was met with a lukewarm response from critics and audiences, although Chloe accepts that her movie was unlikely to impress everybody.
She explained: “When you’re in Marvel and when you’re dealing with an audience that big, I truly treasure and respect that each of us is so unique. It’s exciting that we’re all so different, and we’re all changing and growing every day.
“But with a global audience, it’s almost impossible to make everybody perfectly happy, and to do that is to say that everyone is the same.”
Chloe added: “So I think there’s inevitably going to be that (difference of opinion), and you just have to stay true to the kind of film you want to make and who you are and the people you’re collaborating with.
“That’s all you can do, really, and have a good time. Everything else is out of your control.”

Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall have ‘something quite special’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’s Lana Jenkins thinks she’s got “something quite special” with Ron Hall.
The 25-year-old make-up artist loves spending time with Ron and she’s convinced that they could have a long-term future together, after starring on the dating show.
Asked to describe their relationship, Lana explained: “It’s just easy, comfortable and we feel at home with each other.
“I think they’re important things for me, that when I’m around someone I just wanna be around them all the time. That’s number one and I feel like we could spend all day together and it not feel like a chore. And I just feel like we’ve got something quite special.”
Ron loves Lana’s “caring” attitude and he believes that they’re a very compatible couple.
He said: “I could honestly just sit in silence with Lana and it would feel like the most normal thing in the world. And I feel like we’re both just very honest, very caring.
“For me, one of the main things was having someone caring. That was one of the main things I was looking for. I know how much she was looking after everyone else, and she put herself aside the whole time.”
Ron also observed that Lana was really popular among the other Islanders.
He explained: “Everyone loved Lana and there wasn’t a single moment where anyone had a bad word to say about her, and that just shows Lana’s character. I think that’s why we get on so well, because I know how good she is and I like to think I’m quite a caring person as well so it’s quite nice that we’re both the same. Similar but different!”

“With Tom and Samie they have also been through a journey but they also just look so good together. They are hot! They got sexiest couple and I thought, yeah, you might as well just win, ha!”

Danny Dyer to front documentary about modern men

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer is fronting a new documentary series about modern men.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor is set to travel the UK to find out if guys have lost their identity with the shift away from traditional gender roles, and will also explore the subject of toxic masculinity in ’21st Century Man’, a two-part programme set to air on Channel 4 later this year.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “This will be new ground for Danny and viewers will see a whole new side to him.
“He’ll still possess his usual bravado, but these are serious issues he’s exploring and he conducts himself accordingly. The look into toxic masculinity is particularly deep. It’s a hugely sensitive documentary all round.”
The former ‘Danny Dyer’s Deadliest Men’ host will also meet male and female victims of domestic abuse at a family centre, and visits a soft play facility to talk to families affected by trauma.
News of the documentary comes just a few days after it was revealed Danny will play a “fictionalised and heightened version of himself” in ‘Henpocalypse!’, a BBC comedy series about a hen party that is “interrupted” by an apocalypse.
The 45-year-old star said in a statement: “When I saw the pilot for ‘Henpocalypse!’ I pi***** myself laughing and I was so honoured to be asked to be a part of such an amazing job. You’re all gonna f****** love it – it’s hilarious.”
The plot is “centred around bridezilla Zara whose hen-do is interrupted by the apocalypse. She and her fellow working-class West Midlander hens face a struggle for survival while they wait out the breakdown of human civilisation in an isolated holiday cottage in Wales.”

EastEnders star James Bye is having a fourth son

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bye and his wife Victoria have revealed their fourth child is another boy.
The 39-year-old ‘EastEnders’ actor and his spouse – who already have kids Edward, eight, Louis, six, and Hugo, three, together – revealed earlier this year that she was pregnant again after three years of trying and “heartbreaking miscarriages”.
And the couple has now held a gender reveal with their three boys looking thrilled that they are going to be big brothers.
Victoria captioned the clip of their reaction on their family Instagram page: “It’s official… The worst-kept secret ever is out!
“It’s a BOY! And truly… all 5 of us are over the moon…
“Honestly, we’ve been telling everyone – how we’re supposed to keep his name under wraps (yep we’ve decided!) is beyond me… We’ve just been SO excited.”
Announcing their happy news in January, Victoria wrote: “So… we’ve been keeping a little secret…
“We’re not just welcoming in the new year in 2023…
“I can hardly believe I’m saying it. But we’re welcoming another little one and we’re over the moon.
“We never thought it was going to happen. We always wanted a big family but after all my endometriosis struggles… heartbreaking miscarriages, seeing fertility doctors 3 years of ovulation testing disappointment – we’d honestly given up.
“I remember thinking right. Enough. I gathered up the pram baby things gave them all away. We both knew it couldn’t go on, the constant hope.
“And we were ok, we’d accepted how lucky we’d already been and so we got on with life.
“And life got crazy.
“I started training for my marathon, we began planning our vow renewal abroad, James started the intense Strictly regimen… all wrapped up with a big 40th birthday bonanza (I did milk it just a bit )
“And would you bloody believe it… Somehow life saw all our plans – and threw us a curve ball … (How we found the time I’ll never know – ‘Strictly curse’ you say?! Ha – introducing the glitterball baby!)
“And suddenly our world has been turned upside down… The boys are giddy (‘We’ll always have someone to sit next to on a rollercoaster now!’ Ever the practical Louis ) and yet as I smile, still amazed, I can’t help but worry…
“I think after losing a baby you can never fully let go and enjoy… despite the reassuring symptoms (thanks all day ‘morning’ sickness ) and the doctors all nodding… you can’t let go of the fear.
“And so all I can do is just keep ticking off the days and hoping…”
James – who plays Martin Fowler on the BBC One soap – renewed their wedding vows in St Lucia later in the month.

Keira Knightley rules out Pirates of the Caribbean return

OHMYGOSSIP — Keira Knightley has ruled out a return to the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series.
The 37-year-old actress is happy with how her character Elizabeth Swann’s story was told in the Disney franchise so despite producer Jerry Bruckheimer having expressed an interest to make a new movie with original star Johnny Depp, she doesn’t think there would be a reason to bring back her alter ego.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “What about Elizabeth Swan?
“I mean, she sailed away so nicely. She sailed away in brilliant style.”
The first movie in the series celebrates its 20th anniversary this year but Keira doesn’t remember “very much” about the film because it came at such a pivotal point in her career when she was incredibly busy.
She said: “It sort of launched me out of a rocket, really, as far as my career went.
“That year was ‘Bend It Like Beckham’, ‘Love Actually’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.
“So, I’m being asked about all three. Unfortunately, I was 16 and 17. so I don’t really remember very much of it, but yes, it certainly was a very big year for me. ”
Keira’s comments came just a few days after producer Jerry admitted he “would love” to bring Johnny back as Captain Jack Sparrow.
He said: “We’ll see. I would love it. I would love to have him in the movie. That’s all I can tell you.”
The filmmaker and his team are “very excited” about what is in store for the sixth movie in the series.
Asked for an update on the project, he said: “We’re all working on it. We’ll see how it comes out.
“But we’re all very excited. I think we’re gonna have a great screenplay, and we’re getting close.”
Jerry – who has produced blockbusters including ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ and ‘Top Gun’ – previously confirmed that the character of Captain Jack Sparrow would never be killed off.
He said: “You can’t. We tried to kill him. It didn’t work.”

The 39-year-old ‘Bad Moms’ star and the ‘Beetlejuice’ actor will start filming the movie next month in Los Angeles, Deadline reports.

The film “tells the story of art dealer Andy Goodrich (Keaton), a man whose life is upended when his younger second wife leaves him and enters a 90-day rehab program while also threatening divorce. Goodrich takes charge of their nine-year-old twins, thrusting him into the world of modern parenthood for which he is deeply unprepared. With his career falling by the wayside, he leans on his grown and pregnant daughter Grace for support, and ultimately evolves into the father Grace never had.”
Hallie Meyers-Shyer is serving as director and writer.
The ‘Home Again’ helmer is the daughter of Hollywood filmmakers Nancy Meyers and Charles Shyer.
Meanwhile, Michael is set to reprise the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming movie ‘The Flash’.
He said of his comeback as The Caped Crusader: “It has to be good. There’s no reason to do it if it’s not good. I’m not gonna really change anything.”
The 71-year-old star explained that he had been tempted to return as Batman even before Warner Bros. approached him to feature in ‘The Flash’.
He added: “I thought, ‘Boy, what would that be like?’ And then, coincidentally, there were murmurs, and I got a call from Warner Bros. They wanted to talk to me about something and there were hints of Batman.”

Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice and Jowita Pryzstal ‘split’

OHMYGOSSIP — Giovanni Pernice and Jowita Pryzstal have reportedly split.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professionals have called time on their relationship after falling for each other on the BBC One Latin and ballroom show last series, due to the former’s hectic tour schedule making it “absolutely impossible” for the pair to spend time together.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Giovanni is on tour for the next five months and trying to make time for each other has proved absolutely impossible.
“Although their relationship has ended Giovanni and Jowita said they will stay good friends.
“It is just a shame they couldn’t make it work.”
Not only did the 28-year-old Polish dancer walk away with last year’s glitterball trophy with celebrity partner Hamza Yassin, but she also bagged herself a new beau in the 32-year-old Italian hunk.
An insider had told the newspaper in December: “She and Gio are the worst kept secret, but make a great couple.”
The pair struggled to hide their affection and were often caught catching a kiss backstage.
A source said: “While they both kept insisting they were single, the pair’s chemistry was ridiculous — and they kept getting busted snogging in corridors.
“Crew even saw them kissing in the production office.
“They make a great couple though, and have been pretty inseparable in the last few weeks.
“Jowita, especially, wanted to keep things quiet so she could keep focused with Hamza, and not distract from the competition.
“Giovanni invited Jowita as his date to [Chelsea footballer] Jorghino’s birthday bash at Grappelli, an Italian restaurant in Cobham, Surrey, near the Chelsea training ground.
“They were flirting and made their relationship very known.
“It was the talk of the evening.”
Gio has found love before through the show with the choreographer dating former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Georgia May Foote for eight months after they were partnered up on the 2015 series.
He also romanced Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, who was a contestant in 2018.
Meanwhile, his most recent relationship before Jowita was with ‘Love Island’ star Maura Higgins.

The couple – who met and got together on this year’s winter series of the ITV2 dating reality competition – looked loved up as they continued their “crazy, wonderful journey”, with the 23-year-old farmer taking the 23-year personal trainer to his Buckinghamshire-based farm after sightseeing in London.
Underneath a gallery of photos that included their stop at Buckingham Palace, the pair wrote on their respective Instagram pages: “To the Villa, to London, to the FARM. What a crazy, wonderful and life lasting journey this has been.
“We made friends for life, met each other and more importantly have fallen in love.
“We are so happy that we got this opportunity as without it we may have never met, We just want to thank all of you for the love and support we have gotten, we really couldn’t have done it without you. Love you all Will + Jessie.”
Their co-star Claudia Fogarty, 28, commented: “They’re back [heart-eye emoji].”
Casey O’Gorman, 26, quipped: “Lambing season pending.”
Casey’s comment comes after he and Will exchanged heated words on companion show ‘Aftersun’ after they were shown clips of him labelling Jessie a “fake”.
After calling Casey a “snake”, Will wagged his finger across the studio, and continued: “I said so many times, be honest with me, be open with me and the boy lied.”
The show’s ninth season – which was set in a luxury villa in South Africa and saw Maya Jama take over the hosting reigns from Laura Whitmore – was won by PE teacher Kai Fagan, 24, and social worker Sanam Harrinanan, also 24.

The 58-year-old star is set to reprise her role as head of scientific research Kate Stewart in the series based on the fictional military research organisation, UNIT.
The actress has played the role since 2012.
The spin-off comes from ‘Doctor Who’ showrunner Russell T Davies.
It’s part of the Whoniverse, which is a deal struck up between the BBC and Disney+ to bring the world of ‘Doctor Who’ to global audiences.
Fans were first introduced to UNIT (Unified Intelligence Taskforce) in 1968 when Patrick Troughton was Doctor.
Its purpose is to investigate and combat paranormal and extraterrestrial threats to Earth.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Doctor Who has always featured strong women in positions of authority.”
Until then, fans can see Kate in a Christmas special later this year, which will introduce new Doctor, 30-year-old Ncuti Gatwa.
A monsters spin-off is also said to be in the works.
The Cybermen and Daleks will feature in a new programme devoted solely to the Time Lord’s many enemies.
A source said in November: “Fans can expect to see Sontarans, Weeping Angels and Sea Devils in separate series showing what they get up to when the Doctor isn’t there to stop them, along with Daleks and Cybermen.”
The BBC reportedly signed a huge deal with Disney+, leading the budget for ‘Doctor Who’ to be tripled to a whopping £10 million per instalment.
Meanwhile, 10th Doctor David Tennant, 51, was recently revealed to be returning for three specials for the cult classic sci-fi show’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
Ncuti’s predecessor Jodie Whittaker previously revealed she got teary every time she talked about her departure from ‘Doctor Who’.

Jodie admitted she struggled to talk about her final scenes without getting emotional.
She told Empire magazine: “I cannot talk about it without crying. I’ve got to get better at this, because this is the next few weeks for me – talking about my regeneration.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lydia Bright rushed her three-year-old daughter to the hospital after she suffered a head injury.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star “could cry” thinking about how long she and Loretta waited in the hospital for medical care after the little one hurt herself while climbing on Monday (13.03.23).
Fortunately, Loretta didn’t require any stitches but her mum was shaken up amid a stressful week.
The 32-year-old reality television personality wrote on her Instagram Story: “I still want to cry when I think about it now.”
She continued: “Thankfully no stitches but she had to have the wound cleaned and glued.”
Lydia explained that it was part of an “overwhelming” week as she was going under the knife for a “minor operation” on her face and has also been moving into a new home.
She told her 1.2 million followers: “Sometimes the never-ending lists with a move can feel overwhelming.
“Last night, I stayed at my parents and set off early this morning as today I am having a minor op between my eye and nose.
“I really shouldn’t be as anxious as I am but I think everything is heightened at the moment.
“Sorry to offload, but I just wanted to explain that this is why you may see a small scar on my face for a while. Anyway, they do say bad luck comes in threes so hopefully, this is the last anxiety of the week.”

Sandra Martin and Sandi Bogle ‘legless’ when scouted for ‘Gogglebox’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sandra Martin and Sandi Bogle were “legless” when they were scouted for ‘Gogglebox’.
The original stars of the Channel 4 show were celebrating Sandra’s 50th birthday near their South London home so bosses ended up getting “the full character” of their personalities when they were spotted out and about.
Sandi, 58, told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “We were legless, because it was her birthday, so that way you’ve got the full characters of us both together. It was right place, right time.”
Due to their drunkeness, the pair of best friends thought the premise of the show made “no sense” when they were pitched it by one of the show’s scouts.
Sandi added: “We was a bit tipsy, so we was like, ‘What is he talking about?’
“Sandra was just like, ‘Take over, take over, because I don’t understand what he’s talking about. He‘s talking rubbish. What is this people watching TV, watching us, watching them? It doesn’t make sense.‘”
After they gave their contact details, Sandra – who was unemployed at the time – recalled crying as she thought she had hit the jackpot by landing a job.
The 61-year-old added: “They said, ‘All you’ve got to do is sit down, order a big pizza and watch TV.’
“Oh my God, I started to cry. I told the socials, ‘I’ve got a job now,’ and I cried.”
Sandi added: “We started filming straight away. They just loved our characters and how we worked together.”
Sandra said perks of the show included getting VIP access to David Beckham.
She said: “David Beckham was doing a book signing at Waterstones, and there was a long queue with about 300 people.
“I was at the back of the queue, but too many people were coming to me for selfies, so security came and took me inside.
“I then go into the queue near David.”
Sandi quit ‘Gogglebox’ to explore other projects including an appearance on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, and Sandra admitted she thought she was “going to go back on benefits” if she left ‘Gogglebox’.
She added: “It was hard. I had a panic attack, thinking I was going to go back on benefits.”
Despite the turmoil their friendship was put under – and Sandra going back on the dole while Sandi has ventured into panto – the duo are still firm friends.
Sandi said: “(Sandra) comes to support me always. After 50-odd years of friendship, you can’t not be friends!
“No matter what we go through, she’s always got a room here for her, and she’s always got a room for me.
“We’re besties. We’ve been through ups, downs, thick and thin, the worst, the wears, the tears, the bumps, the laughs.
“That’s friendship. You can’t beat that, no matter what.”

Greg Davies got kicks ‘chucking water over Zoë Wanamaker’ on set of ‘The Cleaner’

OHMYGOSSIP — Greg Davies loved “chucking a bucket of water in Zoë Wanamaker’s face” while making the new series of ‘The Cleaner’.
The ‘Taskmaster’ host admitted he might come across “badly” as he got so much glee from dousing the former ‘My Family’ star, 73, but felt better because she took it so well while they worked together on the new season of the BBC One show, which follows his crime scene cleaner character Paul ‘Wicky’ Winstead.
The 54-year-old comic told the Daily Star’s Hot TV column: “I’m sure that it reflects very badly on me on so many levels that chucking a bucket of water in Zoë Wanamaker’s face is right up there. “She really didn’t seem to mind though.”
Greg – who will be back on screens on March 24 in the sitcom after it first aired in 2021 – added he “enjoyed” having a laugh with other famous faces on set including Asim Chaudhry, Dame Harriet Walter and Simon Callow.
He said: “I enjoyed making Asim Chaudhry wear a greasy wig and chase me with a gun, having a fight with John Macmillan’s clown, having Simon Callow quote poetry at me and being pinned to the floor by a giant man whilst Dame Harriet Walter watched on.
“And I enjoyed talking to Alex Lawther via a fox and friend Roisin Conaty attempting to murder me whilst having my faith challenged by Mark Lewis Jones.”
When it was announced ‘The Cleaner’, based on a German comedy, was coming back for a follow-up season, Greg said he was “thrilled”.
He added: “I’m so thrilled that Wicky is back for another round of clean ups and delighted that he is doing so on BBC One.
“The cast for this season are brilliant and that there are so many distinguished actors amongst them leads me to believe that The BBC have secrets that they are using as leverage.
“Me, the writing and production teams are very grateful for this support.”
