“‘Well, do you know what, I’m just absolutely thrilled. I’m joining The Great British Bake Off and as you can see, all my colleagues are just speechless. We’re just speechless! We’re so, so very happy and we just can’t wait to get started!'”

The source said: “Alison is a great choice. She will bring warmth and humour to the tent in spades. We’re laughing just thinking about it.”

Jamelia struggled to rejoin Hollyoaks due to her new baby

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamelia struggled to return to ‘Hollyoaks’ because of her new baby.
The ‘Superstar’ hitmaker has been cast again in the Channel 4 soap again after she first appeared in it in 2021 as Sharon Bailey, but this time she claims it has been harder due to the late-night breast milk “pumping” sessions but she loves “getting up and going to work” after welcoming her fourth daughter in October.
The 42-year-old star told The Sun newspaper: “If I said it had been a walk in the park, that would be a lie. I’ve been pumping milk between breaks and doing it through the night to leave milk at home.
“That said, I had a sense of pride that I’ve been getting up and going to work.”
Jamelia – who, along with her little one has four-year-old True with her husband, whose identity she has kept private – called her incredibly “traumatic” c-section when she was 36 weeks into her pregnancy as contraception for her oldest daughters from a previous relationship, Teja, 21, and Tiani, 17.
She said: “It was so scary. I felt like I was in labour for a month, but the main objective was to keep the baby in for as long as possible. I just had to hold on.
“I’d only ever seen a C-section on the telly, and thought: ‘Oh well, at least it’s going to be straightforward and I’ll be out in five minutes.’ There’s this idea of ‘too posh to push’ – that it’s the easier option. But I found it incredibly traumatic. And then you’re recovering from major surgery while looking after a newborn.”
The former ‘Loose Women’ panellist revealed that her husband – whose identity she has kept hidden from the media – stayed at home with her little one when she was giving birth.
Jamelia explained that as selfish as it might sound, I wanted to share this experience with my girls.”

“You know, because obviously, every time I date a girl I always tell her and ask, ‘ what do you think about this.’
“Bless her, she saw so many passing by and she asks, ‘is this the one?’ and she says, ‘You know I want a baby before I pass away.’ Of course, I want to have a family one day, you know. I just have to find the right person first.

Elizabeth Olsen hopes for Marvel redemption

OHMYGOSSIP — Elizabeth Olsen hopes to find redemption in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The 34-year-old actress stars in the superhero blockbusters as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch but is hoping for “more humour” in the future after events took a tragic turn for her character in the film ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’.
Elizabeth told ScreenRant: “We can do anything with her now! I feel like we’ve done so much. Now, we can really have fun; I feel like there’s a lot more humour to be had with her.
“She’s often the emotion of a story, and I’m curious to see what we can explore. And hopefully (we can) give her some redemption.”
Scarlet Witch appeared to sacrifice herself at the end of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ but a return for Olsen is possible as the MCU is exploring the multiverse.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige said last year: “There really is so much more to explore. We still haven’t touched on many of her core storylines from the comics. I’d work with Lizzie for another 100 years if we could. Anything’s possible in the multiverse! We’ll have to see.”
Elizabeth previously admits how it was challenging to adapt from the TV series ‘WandaVision’ to playing a villainous role in the ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel.
The ‘Ingrid Goes West’ star said: “At first I think I was nervous and conflicted, because I hadn’t finished ‘WandaVision’ yet, but we were almost finished.
“And I was like, ‘Oh my God, how do I make this all work together?’ We got there; I got there. And it became an amazing opportunity to have people be won over by this woman in ‘WandaVision’ and feel for her, and then, you know, manipulate them into this film, where they got to be on her side and then feel conflicted themselves.”

Melissa Barrera relieved that In The Heights flopped

OHMYGOSSIP — Melissa Barrera is “grateful” that ‘In The Heights’ disappointed at the box office.
The 32-year-old actress featured in the movie adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical but was slightly relieved that it bombed at the box office as it meant she didn’t have the pressure of living up to high expectations in Hollywood.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Melissa said: “Imagine if (‘In The Heights’) had been a success and everything had been incredible and it made a billion dollars at the box office – and then my next movie flopped.
“That would have been, I think, harder… I’m so grateful that my life has been exactly as it has been.”
Melissa reprises her role as Sam Carpenter in the new slasher flick ‘Scream VI’ and she praised directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett for giving her the opportunity to play a three-dimensional character in the horror series.
She explained: “In the fifth (movie), they were thrown into the ring, and it’s chaos.
“I’m very happy that we get to know Sam a little bit more in the sixth movie. I was like, ‘She’s such an interesting character because she has so many demons that can be – if the writers and directors want – explored and lead to a very interesting challenge for me.’
“In the sixth one, (they) take her in that direction. I feel very happy about that.”
Melissa recently revealed that she worked closely with film chiefs to make sure that her character’s psyche was explored in the script.
She told Collider: “So the script changed a lot from the first script that I got to the movie that we made. It was, I want to say, completely different.
“And we had a few sit downs, (directors) Matt (Bettinelli-Olpin) and Tyler (Gillett) and I, and then with (screenwriters) Jamie (Vanderbilt) and Guy (Busick) because I really, really wanted to make sure that we explored Sam’s psyche more and we got to know her deeply because that was a reason that I wanted to play Sam in the first place.
“The reason that I was attracted to her in ‘Scream 5’ was like, ‘Oh my God, there’s so much potential here. Where is she going to go?’ And I wanted to make sure in the sixth movie, we saw more layers to her.”

So I think, you know, having that, because, I guess, you really never know the type of set you’re gonna show up to, so the fact that we have this amazing cast, amazing crew.”

The 20-year-old actor plays teenager Billy – with Zachary starring as his superhero alter ego – and gushed that he was “so happy” with Henry Gayden’s script.
Asher told Entertainment Tonight: “It’s kind of got everything you want in a superhero movie.
“It’s got those heartfelt moments, the action, the comedy, and it’s just everything you’ve ever wanted to see on the big screen. I’m excited.”
Asher’s co-star Jack Dylan Grazer has claimed that the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) movie – which also stars Dame Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu – is “getting away with a lot more” than its predecessor.
He said: “It’s a great cast. We got Helen Mirren, we got Lucy Liu, we got the new up-and-coming star Rachel Zegler from Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’.
“The script is hilarious. It’s funnier than the first one, I’d have to say. We’re getting away with a lot more this time. It’s action-packed and it’s got twists and turns and it’s super-duper fun.”

Amy Nuttall wants divorce from Andrew Buchan

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Nuttall is seeking a divorce from Andrew Buchan.
The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress split from her actor husband of 11 years before Christmas and now Amy, 40, has reportedly asked for a divorce.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “She’s told him she wants a divorce. She’s been publicly humiliated and the pain has been unbearable.
“Now she’s decided to take back control again and plan her own future.
“She’s going down the legal route and will get everything she’s entitled to.”
Following the split, Amy’s 44-year-old husband Andrew Buchan was said to be living with his 40-year-old BBC One ‘Better’ co-star Leila Farzad.
However, it has now been reported that their relationship has ended and Leila has reconciled with her husband James Maizels.
The insider added: “They seem to want to make another go at it — they’re wearing wedding rings again and spending time together to rebuild.”
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Amy is in talks to compete in this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
A source explained Amy thinks the dance contest could give her the “fresh start she needs” and she’s thought to have been inspired by 39-year-old presenter Helen Skelton’s appearance on ‘Strictly’ last year after her eight-year marriage to rugby player Richie Myler, 32, ended.
The insider added: “Amy has been left broken by Andrew’s actions and feels humiliated by the whole ordeal.
“She wants to move on and not let the messy break-up define her. ‘Strictly’ would be the perfect way for her to do that and hopefully restore the confidence she is lacking right now.
“It’s not clear if everyone involved is up for it as emotions are very raw.”
Amy married actor Andrew, famed for playing Mark Latimer in ‘Broadchurch’, in 2012, and the pair have a son and daughter together.

Matt Ruskin: Boston Strangler is about the journalism as much as the serial killer

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Ruskin says it was important not to “humanise” a serial killer in ‘Boston Strangler’.
The filmmaker has helmed the historical crime drama based on the infamous Boston Strangler murders that rocked the US city during the 1960s.
The picture centres on Loretta McLaughlin (Keira Knightley), the reporter who broke the story of the strangler. Along with fellow reporter Jean Cole, McLaughlin challenged the sexism of the era and pursued the story at personal risk to uncover corruption that cast doubt on the identity of the strangler.
And the director has insisted it’s not just a “serial killer” film but the story of a journalist fighting to be taken seriously as an investigative reporter and keeping the women of the Massachusetts city “informed”.
He told The Wrap: “It’s a serial killer story, but it’s also a journalism story. I did not approach this film with the intention of trying to humanise a serial killer or pull people into their world so they knew what made them tick. This is very much a story about a journalist who proved to the world her ability as a serious investigative reporter through the course of breaking the story and working tirelessly to keep the city, and keep women, informed. It’s very much through that through that lens.”
Ruskin explained: “It’s very important to be respectful of depicting real people, of women who are victims of horrible crimes. One of the things that was so interesting about Loretta and Jean’s reporting was they were really the only women covering this story, and they always looked at these crimes from a human perspective. They wanted to know who these women were in a way that many of the other journalists didn’t pursue.”

Denzel Washington set to star in Gladiator sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Denzel Washington is set to star in the ‘Gladiator’ sequel.
The 68-year-old actor is in final negotiations to co-star alongside Paul Mescal, 27, in Sir Ridley Scott’s follow-up to the 2001 movie.
According to Deadline: “When the offer was first presented it was unknown whether he would actually do it; Washington is known for his great taste in projects and doesn’t sign up for anything. But after reading the script, sources close to the project said he was excited about the bad a** role Scott had written with him in mind.”
It was recently revealed that Barry Keoghan is also in talks for the movie and is potentially set to portray a character named Emperor Gata.
Specific details about the flick remain a closely-guarded secret but it has been confirmed that Paul will take on the role of Lucius – the son of Connie Nielsen’s character Lucilla and Joaquin Phoenix’s Commodus from the original film.
Russell Crowe has ruled out returning as Maximus Decimus Meridius in the project – which is due to be released in 2024 – and explained that it won’t be a “direct sequel” to the Oscar-winning original.
The 58-year-old star said: “Yeah we’ve had dinner and talked about it and all that stuff. So I know roughly how he’s shaping the story.
“But yeah, if you remember, there was a young kid who wanted to beat the Gladiator, which leads to the ‘My name is’ speech. So that young kid has grown up, and he’s now the Emperor.
“I don’t know what else happens at that point, so that’s the idea. So it’s not a remake. And it’s not a direct sequel. It’s not like the day after, you know, 30 years later or something.”

Russell T Davies rules out Doctor Who kids spin-off

OHMYGOSSIP — Russell T Davies has ruled out plans for a ‘Doctor Who’ spin-off for kids.
The 59-year-old writer and producer revealed he would love to create a children-focused show but admitted that finances were preventing it.
Speaking in the latest issue of SFX, he said: “It’s an ideal, but we’re coming back to a world in which money in children’s [TV] is in even shorter supply. Even with all the good will in the world, we’d find it very hard to do now, unfortunately. There are fantasy shows – they do stuff. But our stuff is expensive.
“You also have to keep the spin-offs looking as good as the main show, in order to maintain the entire brand – that’s part of the problem as well. So it’s genuinely tricky. There is no plan at the moment for children’s, and I’m sad about that, but just affording it would be hard.”
However, he hasn’t ruled it out entirely, adding: “Hopefully! We’ll get there, give us time.”
And, he is planning some other spin-offs from the series.
Davies previously explained his return to the show, saying: “So I thought – with no criticism whatsoever towards the people who were running it at the time, because they were running it within the BBC’s measures – it was time for the next stage for ‘Doctor Who’.
“I thought the streaming platforms are ready, the spin-offs are ready; I always believed in spin-offs when I was there. I did ‘Torchwood’ as a spin-off, ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’ as a spin-off.
“Those spin-offs declined when I left, and I can see why. And I very much left after 2008, when the money became scarce. I think that’s fair enough for the public service broadcaster that the money is spent on other things.”

Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan shocked by Love Island success

OHMYGOSSIP — Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan were shocked by their ‘Love Island’ success.
The couple, both 24, were recently crowned winners of ‘Winter Love Island’ and admitted that their popularity has been a big surprise to them both.
Kai told the Daily Mail newspaper: “We are quite boring, really. We never got involved in all the stuff you think Love Island people have to do — the rows and the controversy. Because of that, we never expected to win. We were shocked when it seemed people liked us.”
PE and science teacher Kai and social worker Sanam quit their jobs to take part in the show but want to continue to work with children where possible.
Kai said: “The people I ultimately want to work with — kids — watch ‘Love Island’. You can have whatever view you like of shows like ‘Love Island’, but believe me — and I’ve seen it in classrooms — the kids watch it, and the people on ‘Love Island’ are their role models.
“One of the common conversations I’d have with these kids — who are all on TikTok and social media — is about who they are being influenced by.
“A lot of the kids I have taught come from broken homes, and I know it was the same with Sanam. A lot of them will never see a positive relationship. If they can look at us and go ‘yeah, it is achievable’ then that’s a positive thing.
“I guess people voted for us because we were real. We plan to stay that way.”
Sanam added: “I am meeting my former manager on Thursday to chat about how I can continue to help them. And this will give me a platform that I just wouldn’t have had before.”

Kate Garraway reveals Alison Hammond was proposed to at the airport

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Garraway has claimed Alison Hammond was proposed to at the airport by a mystery man.
The 55-year-old Smooth Radio host has revealed she was on a trip with the ‘This Morning’ presenter recently when a man got down on one knee in the middle of the airport and ask for the larger-than-life star’s hand in marriage.
Speaking to Giovanna Fletcher on Disney Travel’s ‘Journey To The Magic’ podcast, she spilled: “I did a great trip recently with Alison Hammond. She is hilarious to travel with.
“She got a marriage proposal at the airport. We were only there for 15 minutes.
“I literally went to the loo, bought a cup of tea and came back and this guy had proposed. It was unbelievable.’
She recalled: “I was just like ‘what the heck’. He just sat down and he proposed to her.
“It was extraordinary. She was just like ‘yeah’ and he proposed – really casual about it. I was like ‘this is big stuff’.”
However, Alison turned him down, with Kate adding: “So it was a no.”
The 48-year-old star recently denied she is engaged to partner Ben Hawkins.
Her boyfriend’s father, Colin Hawkins, 72, alleged both Alison and his landscape gardener son popped the question to one another.
Asked whether the couple are to tie the knot, he told MailOnline last month: “I do know they have both proposed to one another but there are no rings that I know of.
“They are really happy but they haven’t got everything sorted just yet but they are both talking about marriage, that is true.
“What I do know is that when it happens none of us will know about it because it’ll be done in private. That much they have told me.”
However, after co-hosting the BAFTAs, Alison told her ‘This Morning’ co-host Dermot O’Leary it was “fake news”.
She said: “I’m so sorry. I told you that when I’m engaged or getting married, I would be first to tell you and I’d be putting it all over the ‘gram and on TikTok.
“You know what I’m like. I’d do a reel, you know what I mean. There would be a ring.”
Colin had also praised Alison as “the nicest woman we’ve ever met”.
He added: “I love Alison to bits. She’s the nicest woman we’ve ever met. I would love to tell you a load of stories and they are all good, but I can’t because she’s asked us to keep things private.
“If you go to her when you’re in trouble, she will help you, that’s the way she is.
“I know they will get it together and I won’t be there to see it, but it will be a very proud day for me. I will be Alison’s father-in-law and that’ll be lovely.”
In May last year, Alison confirmed she was “off the market” after Dermot let slip on air that she had a boyfriend.
Speaking on an episode of the show, he said to her: “You’re not available anymore, but if you were, jeez what a catch!”
Alison initially said: “What do you mean I’m not available? I’m available!”
But she then admitted: “I have got somebody guys, I’m off the market, I’m so sorry guys.”
Kate’s episode on ‘Journey To The Magic’ is available on all streaming platforms, and will also be available to watch on the Disney UK YouTube channel.

Strictly’s Tyler West and Molly Rainford confirm dating rumours in TikTok

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’s Tyler West and Molly Rainford have confirmed their romance.
The pair were previously rumoured to be dating after falling for each other on the BBC One Latin and ballroom show in September, however, they played down the speculation.
And now, the pair have posted a TikTok with Tyler, 26, seen placing his hand on Molly’s leg as they recite lines from ‘Friends’.
The audio they used was of Rachel Green and Joey Tribanni telling each other they know Monica Geller and Chandler Bing have been dating in secret.
The clip is captioned: “Did you know? @MollyRainford”, with Tyler adding a red love heart and a crying with laughter emoji.
The KISS FM DJ previously dismissed speculation that he’s romancing the 21-year-old singer-and-actress after they were pictured together in October, insisting he’s got no time for dating because of his “intense” training schedule.
He said: “It was just the wrong place to be waiting for our cabs.
“Mols is wicked, she’s cool. You are having lunch together, training together… it is an intense schedule but there is no romance.
“I have been so focused on myself and dance, I wouldn’t have time to date. If you see my schedule, I don’t even have time to reply to a female even if they did message me. Looking forward to after the show, though. Who knows?”
And Tyler insisted he gets more messages about his quirky torch-collecting hobby than from anyone looking to date him.
He said: “Everyone thinks my DMs are popping off but that’s not the case.
“People are more interested in talking about my torches.”
Away from the show, the only other female company Tyler has is his beloved mum Debs, who he moved back in with last year to save money.
He said: “Debs is living her best life on the Strictly journey. She doesn’t want me to move out. Talk about the cost-of-living crisis!
“She has been a rock in my life and on my Strictly journey. She always keeps my feet on the ground.”
