Willem Dafoe: Inside role was a ‘pleasure’

OHMYGOSSIP — Willem Dafoe thought it was a “pleasure” to play a largely silent role in ‘Inside’.
The 67-year-old actor portrays art thief Nemo, who gets trapped inside a New York penthouse when a heist goes wrong, in the new film and he insisted it didn’t seem like a “challenge” having to get across his character’s emotions with his actions and body language rather than dialogue.
He told ComingSoon.net: “I didn’t see it as a problem or a challenge, that was the pleasure. That was the opportunity, to tell you the truth. Just a different way of doing things, not using words so much, not bouncing off other people, bouncing off of places, things, objects.”
The movie was shot chronologically and Willem insisted the filmmaking process was an “actor’s dream”.
He said: “It was a very task-oriented performance. That’s where you start, by doing things, and then you’ll have an experience, and with each choice you make, with each action you make, there’s a consequence and then, story starts to emerge. So, it was a very organic way to work. We shot chronologically. So it was an actor’s dream, actually, to work this way.”
The actor hopes the movie will raise important questions about people’s relationships with technology and the darker aspects of material wealth.
He said: “This guy gets trapped in this place and he’s surrounded by all the things we value as objects, as material, priceless art, luxurious apartment. But it’s no use to him. What he needs are basic human things. And to see those things that we value in one context, become worthless in another context, always opens up all kinds of questions as to what their inherent value really is.
“It puts us in a questioning frame of mind about things that we take for granted, and brings us to things like questions, naturally, I think, like what is our relationship to technology? We know it helps us, but what is the shadow side of that? We know art can be beautiful. We know art can become an object of wealth, but what’s the shadow side of that?
“These sort of things crop up in the course of the movie, not in a didactic way or, not an explicit way, but those themes, I think, are kind of interwoven or, not even interwoven, they’re present just in the scenario, and I think the audience will bring what they will to it, and have a dialogue with themselves.”

Love Island’s Ron Hall admits he had ‘too many beverages’ on flight home

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island star Ron Hall has confessed he had “too many beverages” on the flight home.
Ron and his girlfriend Lana Jenkins came second in the winter season of the hit ITV2 dating show but they were later hit by reports of a boozy bust-up on the plane as they flew back from South Africa earlier this month – and Ron has now explained Lana was simply trying to look after him because he’d had too much to drink.
During an appearance on the reunion episode which aired on Sunday night (19.03.23), they were quizzed about the incident by host Maya Jama and Lana said: “It looked worse that it was.”
Ron then added: “Well I had a few too many beverages. And Lana was just looking after me.”
When Maya suggested Ron was “mashed”, Lana then insisted: “I was caring for him, not arguing with him.”
During the show, there was also a tense conversation between Shaq Mohammad and his former love rival Martin Akinola over an X-rated comment the dumped star made about Tanya Manhenga on a podcast after leaving the villa.
Shaq said: “I think for me, I want to I want to know why you [Martin] came out of the show and started talking on podcasts saying you would sleep with Tanya in ways you can’t imagine.
“Because one – that did not happen and two if that’s how you choose to speak about women, that’s up to you. But it’s disgusting.”
Martin then replied: “Okay, fair enough. That’s fair enough. But if you watch the podcast you’d know that’s not what happened. But, but what I will say is, I didn’t expect you to, you know, say that’s what happened or whatever.
“But I will say, yeah I crossed the line there. You know, I shouldn’t have said that. So I apologise to Tanya, mostly because we never acknowledged what was talked about.”
Tanya went on to add: “Well, I mean, it would have been really nice if you apologised directly and didn’t say it on the podcast in the first place,” prompting Martin to reply: “Well – you’ve not been out. This my first time seeing you now.”

Viola Davis was ‘deeply moved’ to be asked to play Michael Jordan’s mum in Air

OHMYGOSSIP — Viola Davis felt “very flattered” and “deeply moved” to be asked to play Michael Jordan’s mum in ‘Air’.
The Hollywood actress signed up to play Deloris Jordan in Ben Affleck’s new movie which details the basketball legend’s hugely successful partnership with sportswear giant Nike after Jordan himself put her name forward – and Viola admits she couldn’t resist the challenge.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “Mothers are the most important figures in anybody’s life, so I was very flattered and deeply moved to be asked to play Michael’s mother.
“I know Michael Jordan but didn’t know that Deloris brokered this deal to get him a huge stake in the shoe and in turn, protected her son’s legacy. I wanted to know more about this woman who had the strength and courage to fight for her son’s worth. For Deloris to have this insight and progressive vision, to stand her ground in the negotiation room – which I know can be the hardest part of the job – makes her an incredible woman. That made me lean into this project.”
The movie’s director Ben Affleck previously admitted the part of Deloris was initially quite small until he met with Jordan and was told how she helped broker the deal that produced his Air Jordans range. The sports legend then asked Ben to cast Viola in the role – prompting a rewrite of the script to make the part much bigger.
Ben explained to THR: “He actually talked about his mom, who wasn’t really in the script. That’s when I understood what the movie was. Talking to him about his mom was incredibly moving, and I realised: ‘Oh, this isn’t about Nike’.
“I said: ‘So, do you have any ideas about who would …?’ … I knew who he was going to say because it was the same person that I’ve wanted to direct for so long … I’m thinking: ‘Oh my God, he wants me to offer this to Viola Davis. How am I going to offer Viola Davis a movie with one line? That’s not going to happen.’ “But he was like: ‘That’s my mom’. He was dead serious. ‘Viola Davis, that’s my mom.’ And that was it. Discussion was over.”
‘Air’ also stars Matt Damon, Chris Tucker and Jason Bateman with Viola Davis as Deloris and Affleck as Nike boss Phil Knight. It hits cinemas in April.

Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler ‘actively seeking’ their next movie together

OHMYGOSSIP — Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler are “actively seeking” their next film together.
The Hollywood duo have starred in a bunch of comedies together, their most recent being 2014’s ‘Blended’, and Drew has revealed they are keen to continue their collaboration but it has to be the right story for their characters.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, she teased: “We might have mentioned something about it this morning.
“We’re actively seeking.”
She continued: “I know, I wonder the same thing, ’cause I think that is important for us, to hook into it.
“Maybe not be redundant of something we’ve done in the past, but not try to prove we’re doing something different just to prove it. It’s like an alchemy, you know? And it’ll be a little of this, a little of that.”
She went on: “I will say this: Adam and I seem to really know it when we know it. And we’re like, ‘This is it.'”
Whatever they end up doing, it has to be relatable.
Drew explained: “We work really hard in the writing to balance it out for the male-female perspective. We always try to infuse something that we really think is meaningful, as far as storylines, or what we relate to or what we want to see in a story, ’cause we need that.’
“We make it personal, even though it’s not us up there.”
Gushing over her 56-year-old co-star and how lucky she was to be paired with him, the 48-year-old star said: “I mean, everybody was in love with Adam Sandler back in the day. When he was on ‘SNL’, he was the guy, the coolest, the hottest. Everybody wanted to be Adam Sandler-adjacent. And I’m just lucky that I broke through.
“Because I was like, ‘I know we don’t look like a match with my purple hair and leopard coat,’ and he’s still wearing that same outfit he wore that day 25 years ago or whatever it was,’ but I was like, ‘But I know that we are.’ There’s something inside.”
Drew added: “So, we just have to find characters that suit that belief system.”
The pair first appeared on screen together in 1998’s ‘The Wedding Singer’. And they went on to star in 2004’s ’50 First Dates’.

Gregg Wallace quits as co-host of Inside the Factory to spend more time with autistic son

OHMYGOSSIP — Gregg Wallace is stepping down from his co-hosting role on ‘Inside the Factory’ to be there for his autistic son Sid.
The 58-year-old presenter has co-hosted the BBC series – which sees him and Cherry Healey snoop inside Britain’s biggest factories – since 2015 but has announced he is leaving the presenting job to focus on finding his three-year-old boy, who is non-verbal, an appropriate school.
Speaking on Gaby Roslin’s BBC Radio London show, he said: “So I’ve made a decision that I’m actually not going to do ‘Inside The Factory’ anymore.
“It’s a good time to stop doing it because there’s actually 12 episodes in the can … so I wouldn’t have been filming for a while anyway so it just seemed like a good idea to stop it.”
The former greengrocer – who has Sid with his wife Anne-Marie Sterpini – continued: “Imagine a child that you can’t threaten or bribe and that’s basically what you’ve got.
“You’ve got a little boy who’s cuddly and happy and naughty, like any little boy would be, but he can’t speak, he can’t talk to you, so he gets frustrated because he finds it difficult to tell you what exactly it is he needs.
“Right now, we need to find education for him and I can’t just leave that to Anna – that’s a big, big decision.
“I mean, all parents worry about the schools that children will go to. Ours is even more highlighted because of poor little Sid’s issues.”
Gregg – who also has Libby and Tom with his second wife Denise and has been married four times – will remain a judge on ‘MasterChef’.
The TV star first opened up about Sid’s autism on panel show ‘Loose Women’ last summer to help raise awareness of the neurodevelopmental disorder.
He said: “He’s got something called global development delay, which means he is not speaking.
“But he is lovely, he is cuddly… If he wants something, he grabs your hand.”

Katya Jones fears she might end up doing her ‘business in a bucket’ on ‘Celebrity Hunted’

OHMYGOSSIP — Katya Jones fears she might end up doing her “business in a bucket” if she’s caught short on the upcoming series of ‘Celebrity Hunted’.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro, 33, is set to ditch the glamorous costumes she wears on the ballroom of the BBC hit to look “rough” for the Stand Up to Cancer run of Channel 4’s chase show, due to air on March 28.
She told The Sun about her tactics to evade the show’s team of chasers: “Do our business in a bucket? Wow, I hadn’t thought about that!
“We love a comfortable life. We love a good bed, but at the same time, we don’t shy away from getting down and dirty.
“But you never know. When you’re tired on the run, it might not go to plan.
“I’m quite excited about that side of it actually, about how we’re going to react in those extreme situations.
“We can talk the talk, but can we walk the walk?”
The Sun had reported it was hoped Katya would talk about the details of her infamous kiss with her former ‘Strictly’ partner Seann Walsh, 37, during the 2018 run of the show, when she was married to fellow pro dancer Neil Jones, 40, and the comic was dating 35-year-old actress and playwright Rebecca Humphries.
But she told the newspaper she was instead looking forward to ditching the glamorous costumes she wears on the ballroom of the BBC dance show.
She added: “I always stay true to myself and I’m not anxious about looking rough. It’s a side people haven’t seen of me that I’m happy to show them.
“I’ve been trying to get my hair extensions out for days, but I don’t think I’ll have time to do it.
“So you might get some trails of hair left behind as my extensions fall out while we’re running! Who knows?”
Katya is part of an athletic line-up for this year’s ‘Celebrity Hunted’, which also includes 31-year-old former Olympic snowboarder Aimee Fuller.
Life coaches and therapists Nik and Eva Speakman, aged 61 and 53 respectively, will be joining the contest, along with ‘Coronation Street’ actress Nicola Thorp, 34, and her 38-year-old actor partner Nikesh Patel.
Comics Ed Gamble, 37, and 38-year-old James Acaster as well as YouTuber and former ‘Strictly’ star Saffron Barker, 22, as well as broadcaster Bobby Seagull, 39, are also in the 10-strong line-up.
Producer Tom Hutchings said: “Get ready for the adventures of our best set of celebrity fugitives ever as we release them, for the first time, in epic prison break-out style!
“Expect the unexpected as our fugitives enlist the help of their celebrity friends, hide out in the most daring locations and get chased around the UK by our fearless team of Hunters, headed up by Chief Lisa Theaker.”
Commissioning editor for factual entertainment at Channel 4, Ian Dunkley, added: “We are delighted to be bringing back one of the most thrilling nationwide chase games with an esteemed group of celebrities supporting the amazing efforts of Stand Up to Cancer.”

‘They became my first family!’ Ameet Chana reveals if he still speaks to EastEnders co-stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Ameet Chana is still in touch with his ‘EastEnders’ co-stars.
The 47-year-old actor enjoyed a two-year stint as Adi Ferreira on the BBC One soap opera from 2003 until 2005 and explained that because he spent more time with his on-screen family than his own when sticking to the busy shooting schedule, he is still “very much in touch” with them today.
He told Metro newspaper’s SixtySeconds column: “For over two years they became my first family, because for 12 hours a day, for five or six days a week, I saw more of them than my own. And we had the same fun and the same amount of feuds that a real family would have. Just the other day I was talking to Nabil Elouahabi who played Tariq, who ended up being our half-brother, because it was his birthday and he turned 50. And Ray Panthaki, who played my younger brother, Ronny, we’re still very much in touch.
“I work for the Rifco Theatre Company as an associate director and I contacted Raji James, who played my older brother, about doing a reading for us. We don’t often all hang out at the same time, but we do our best to stay in touch.”
Ameet went on to add that while he is sometimes still recognised for his role as Adi, he is more often remembered for playing Tony in the 2002 comedy ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ opposite
Parminder Nagra and Keira Knightley.
He said: “While UK Gold existed, I always knew when our episodes were on, because you’d suddenly get people on the street recognising you again. But definitely ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ still lives with me. It’s going to be 21 years old this April. It’s magically timeless. On the surface, it’s about a young Indian girl who wants to play football but, subliminally, that film is about anyone who’s wanted to do something, who had restrictions in doing it, chasing their dream.”

Mrs. Brown Rides Again to tour the UK for the first time in 10 years

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Mrs. Brown Rides Again’ is to tour the UK for the first time in a decade.
The hit TV sitcom – which first aired three full series on BBC One from 2011 until 2013 before becoming a Christmas special fixture for the broadcaster – stars Brendan O’Carroll as an Irish matriarch and is based on a series of plays he first performed in the late 1990s but now the comedy will hit the road once again in a story that follows Agnes’ quest to stop her family putting her in a home.

admitted the show has been “thwarted twice” due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as it was originally scheduled to hit screens in 2021.
Speaking of the new series, which will be filmed in spring ahead of broadcast later this year, the 67-year-old comic said: “This mini-series was actually planned for 2021. Having been thwarted twice, firstly by Covid-19 and then by a post-Covid shortage of studios, it’s fantastic to, at last, have the chance to make it happen. Fasten your seatbelts and hold on to your hats!”

Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday 24 March at 10am via www.gigsandtours.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

Dame Mary Berry reveals why she won’t be watching new series of ‘The Great British Bake Off’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Mary Berry won’t be watching the new series of ‘The Great British Bake Off’.
The 87-year-old chef, who was a judge on the show alongside baker Paul Hollywood, 57, before she quit when it moved to Channel 4 in 2016, and even though she hopes its latest host Alison Hammond will do a good job she admitted she will not be tuning in to find out.
Mary, who has been married to Paul Hunnings since 1996, told the Daily Mirror at the Cheltenham Festival about how she does too much cooking at home to also watch it on TV: “I had seven wonderful years at Bake Off and it’s a wonderful format.
“It gets people and children cooking. I don’t actually watch it, because you can imagine, being married to me, there’s a lot of food about, so we don’t watch much cooking on telly.
“I hope that (Alison is) very good. They’ve had a good swap around since I left. “But they are all good, and they bring a different way of life to the ‘Bake Off’.
“I’m still doing my normal cooking shows, which I love.
“Cooking from scratch, all very easy, and encouraging people to do what I enjoy.
“I think people are at last shopping locally, and going to local markets, and going to pick-your-own, and making the most of the less expensive things.”
Alison, 48, is replacing Matt Lucas, 49, on ‘Bake Off’ after the comedian revealed in December he was stepping down from the presenting role as he could no longer commit to the programme’s schedule as well as his other projects.
The ‘This Morning’ host announced the news by posting a video on Instagram of a cake designed in the shape of the white ‘Bake Off; tent, which featured models of her with fellow host Noel Fielding, 49, and judges Paul and 83 year old Dame Prue Leith.
She said in a voiceover: “This is breaking news, Alison Hammond is joining the team of ‘The Great British Bake Off’.”
As animated microphones appeared on the screen, she asked her figure if she had any comment, to which she said: “Well do you know what? I’m just absolutely thrilled. I’m going to be meeting the bakers very soon. I’m joining ‘The Great British Bake Off’. I’m so very excited.”
She also wrote alongside the post: “It’s Official!! It’s happening The Great British Bake off! let’s have it – The cake that is so excited @BritishBakeOff @Channel4 @PrueLeith @PaulHollywood @noelfielding11 #GBBO.”

‘The Crown’ slammed as ‘sick’ for recreating mangled Princess Diana death crash Mercedes

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Crown’ is being blasted as “sick” for recreating the mangled Mercedes that carried Princess Diana to her death.
Bosses on the award-winning Netflix hit had insisted it would not recreate the “exact moment” of the Paris tunnel car smash that killed the royal in 1997 aged 36, but fury has erupted after pictures emerged of a replica of the smashed car that is to be used in its new series.
A source told the Daily Mail: “I think a lot of people will find it quite sick that they went into such detail to recreate how the car was smashed up.
“I think it’s going to cause a lot of upset with the Royal Family. If it was any other family I’m not sure they’d do it.”
The image of the crumpled S-Class Mercedes – complete with a caved-in bonnet, smashed windscreen and buckled wheels – was released by the Mail and shows in on set at Elstree Studios.
It was said to have been transported in secret under tarpaulin to Paris.
In October Netflix crews in the French capital were seen reconstructing Diana’s final journey and other scenes shot in December showed investigators examining the wreckage.
Netflix insisted at the time: “The exact moment of the crash impact will not be shown.”
Diana’s companion Dodi Fayed, 42, and driver Henri Paul, 41, were also killed in the August 31 crash at the Pont de l’Alma road tunnel in central Paris, leaving bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones, 55, its only survivor.
Di, who will be played by Elizabeth Debicki, 32, in the upcoming sixth series of ‘The Crown’, died hours after the crash in hospital, while Dodi and Henri were instantly killed.
The latest run of the Netflix show will follow the royals from the late 1990s through to the early 2000s, and the Mail said the streamer declined to comment on the use of the mangled Mercedes replica.
It comes after politicians, royal experts and celebrities led calls for a disclaimer to be added to the show warning viewers it was fiction not fact – which was put on the show by Netflix in 2022.
Diana’s brother Earl Spencer, 58, has said he felt uncomfortable watching his sister portrayed in the drama and admitted he fears viewers will “forget it is fiction”.

‘I used to be so anxious and guarded!’ Dame Kelly Holmes reflects on life since coming out as gay

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Kelly Holmes was “always on edge” before she came out as gay.
The 52-year-old double Olympic champion disclosed her sexuality for the first time as part of her ‘Kelly Holmes: Being Me’ documentary in 2022 and went on to become a regular panellist on ITV1 chat show ‘Loose Women’ but admitted she still finds it “hard” after keeping part of her life secret for so long.
She told HELLO! Magazine: “The before Kelly was very guarded, anxious and strait-laced. I was on edge all the time and wouldn’t relax. But now I’m more expressive. It’s still hard. I love being on ‘Loose Women’, but to be free in conversation – not be such a prude, or worry about something I’ve said – that’s a transition for me. I’m having to re-learn how to be.”
Dame Kelly – who joined the British Army at the age of 18 and served for almost a decade – went on to add that while she didn’t understand why the initialism of LGBTQIA+ was being extended to encompass those who identify as part of the queer community at first, she now believes it is so everyone can feel “valid” in their own skin.
She added: “Coming out has given me the freedom not to worry about what people think of me, to articulate who I am in a transparent manner and prove to people I’m still the same person who they might have celebrated as an athlete, or been inspired by because I’m ex-military.
“I didn’t understand why all the letters were always extending, why we need such individuality, but I kind of get it now. It’s about feeling valid and having a place where you are seen and heard; where people accept you for who you are and you can identify with people who feel like you.
Earlier this year, Dame Kelly posted pictures of herself and her unnamed partner on Instagram and added that her intention is to keep schtum about the details of her private life as she “puts herself forward” more.
“I’ve never really talked about anyone and that’s as far as I’m going at the moment! I’m putting myself forward more and happy to be me!”

Katie Piper Foundation works with Coronation Street on acid attack storyline

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ has been working with The Katie Piper Foundation on an upcoming acid attack storyline.
The 39-year-old TV star set up the organisation after she was subjected to life-changing injuries in March 2008 when Stefan Sylvestre doused her in acid in an attack orchestrated by her ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch and now her charity is working with the team behind the ITV1 soap opera as they prepare to air a storyline which will see Daisy Midgeley (played by Charlotte Jordan) suffer the same sort of attack at the hands of stalker Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still) on her wedding day.
Sarah Green, chief executive of The Katie Piper Foundation, said in a statement: “Coronation Street have shown determination in their research to portray the reality of such attacks and the long-lasting impact they have, not only on the individual but also the family and the wider community.
“We hope that storyline delivers much-needed awareness around the life of all survivors of burns – not just the initial impact but the proceeding hours, days, months and years of their lives.”
The ‘Loose Women’ star set up the charity – which aims to provide an array of services to those who have survived a burns injury – three years after her attack and in 2022 was given an OBE for her charity work and ‘Coronation Street’ producer Iain Macleod explained that the storyline will be “heartbreaking” but “important.”
He said: “We will explore the social fallout of having your appearance profoundly changed, both in terms of your own ability to process that and how the wider world reacts to you. The story will at times be heartbreaking but we felt it was an important one to tell.”

David F. Sandberg planning superhero rest

OHMYGOSSIP — David F. Sandberg wants a break from superhero movies.
The 42-year-old director has helmed the new DC Extended Universe (DCEU) blockbuster ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ and is now planning to explore some other genres after working on a pair of superhero flicks.
Asked by The Hollywood Reporter if he is ready to move on from the genre, David said: “That’s definitely how I feel right now, yeah. I started my ‘Shazam’ journey right after ‘Annabelle: Creation’ in 2017, and so it’s been quite a few years of just ‘Shazam’. So I’m very ready to move on and go back to horror and just try some other things.”
The ‘Shazam’ movies follow a group of foster siblings who are able to turn into superheroes and David admits that it was a complicated balancing act to manage a pair of actors in some of the roles.
He explained: “That’s why we had to go the route of taking the kids’ powers away. It wouldn’t make sense for them to be kids for most of the movie if they could be superheroes, and you want to see the kids because they’re so charming and great.
“But it was quite a struggle to give everyone enough time, and it’s a little bit uneven in the movie. It’s also a challenge to shoot as well, with many actors and characters to wrangle.”
Sandberg added: “It was actually complicated a bit with Grace (Caroline Currey) playing both young and (Super Hero) Mary. If we hadn’t done that, we could’ve had the adults in their superhero costumes and just swapped them out, but with Mary’s character, Grace had to go away for makeup and costume. So it would take 40 minutes for her to go back and forth.”

Daisy Edgar-Jones set for role in Twisters

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Edgar-Jones is set to star in ‘Twisters’.
The ‘Normal People’ actress has been cast in the reboot of the hit 1996 film ‘Twister’ which is being directed by Lee Isaac Chung.
The movie is being co-financed by Warner Bros and the script is being written by Mark L. Smith. It is slated for release in 2024.
‘Twister’ was a big success when it was released and the film starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton in the lead roles. The original flick was helmed by ‘Speed’ director Jan De Bont and executive produced by Steven Spielberg.
Daisy, 24, previously starred as Kya Clark from North Carolina in the movie ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ and the director Olivia Newman revealed that she hired a movement coach to “shed her Britishness” for the film.
The filmmaker said: “Daisy can very easily drop into that very vulnerable, sensitive, shy place but then she also has this incredible grit and resilience that catches you off-guard.
“[She requested a movement coach] to help her shed her Britishness and get into that Southern marsh girl way of being.”
The film’s producer Elizabeth Gabler revealed that she and Hello Sunshine colleague Reese Witherspoon had considered a number of stars for the role but opted for Daisy after her performance in ‘Normal People’.
She said: “We’d been watching the show and were like, ‘Let’s go to Daisy Edgar-Jones right now.’
“We sent her the script on a Thursday and she auditioned on the Sunday, by which time she’d already perfected the accent.
“Daisy brought us all to our knees in her audition, she blew us away.”

Alicia Silverstone prepared to make Blast from the Past sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Silverstone is willing to reunite with Brendan Fraser on a ‘Blast from the Past’ sequel.
The pair starred together in the 1999 movie and Alicia would love to work with her co-star again following his recent Oscar win for Best Actor.
Speaking during a 90s Con panel on Sunday (19.03.23), the 46-year-old star said: “With Brendan? I would do anything with Brendan. It was so much fun.
“I just saw Brendan after he won his Oscar and he’s so cute. He talked in his speech about how we all go through this really hard time and you have to grow and it’s part of life that you struggle and then look what happened to him! So yes, I’m happy to do that.”
The romantic comedy film told the story of naive 35-year-old man Adam Webber (Fraser) who had spent his entire life living in a fallout shelter built by his survivalist father.
As he emerges into the world and tries to adjust to modern life, he meets a girl called Eve (Silverstone) who opens his eyes to a different way of living.
‘Blast from the Past’ also featured Christopher Walken, Sissy Spacek and Dave Foley in the cast.
Alicia is known for her role as Cher Horowitz in the 1995 flick ‘Clueless’ and explained that she struggled to cope with the attention that came with starring in the teen comedy movie.
She recalled: “When ‘Clueless’ came out, it really shifted. I had been the girl from ‘Crush’, then I was the Aerosmith chick, and then, after that, I was Cher. It was very complicated and I don’t think I knew how to manage it: I didn’t have the foundation, the good tools to deal with it, I wasn’t prepared for it in any way, shape, or form. I really had no idea what was happening, and it didn’t feel comfortable.”

Nicolas Cage kept his fangs in to perfect Renfield voice

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Cage wore fangs all the time to perfect his voice for ‘Renfield’
The 59-year-old actor is to star as Count Dracula in the upcoming comedy horror movie and kept the fangs in constantly to enhance his performance.
Nicolas is quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying: “I was trying to give the character an eloquent and elegant voice that was pretty hard to do with all the ceramic material in my mouth.
“But I got used to it by taking them home, leaving them in when I was in my hotel room.”
The ‘Wild at Heart’ star has been fascinated with vampires since watching Max Schreck as Count Orlok in the 1922 film ‘Nosferatu’ and jumped at the chance to star as Dracula in the movie – which also features Nicholas Hoult and Awkwafina.
Cage explained: “You have this character with long fingers and nails, a creepy bald head and rodent-like face, moving in very strange ways. It terrified me.”
The star previously revealed that he took inspiration from the late horror legend Sir Christopher Lee for his portrayal of Bram Stoker’s bloodsucker.
Nicolas said: “Well, I had a lot of help. There were a ton of super-talented people on that movie that helped design the look.
“We wanted it to be more homage, more Christopher Lee. I favoured Christopher Lee as Dracula and I liked his kind of sixties hairdo, but the wardrobe, the costume, and no, I didn’t come up with the idea for the rings.
“That all came out of a wardrobe. They came in with all that. Maybe they sense something in me that I would like that, but that was really their contribution.”
