Mena Suvari to star in The Wrecker

OHMYGOSSIP — Mena Suvari has joined the cast of the action thriller ‘The Wrecker’.
The 44-year-old actress is to star alongside Tyrese Gibson and Harvey Keitel in the new film from director Art Camacho.
Production on the film has started in Las Vegas with Chad Michael Collins, Ego Mikitas and Danny Trejo featuring in the cast.
The screenplay has been written by Niko Foster – who also has a role in the flick – and follows ex-marine turned car mechanic Tony, whose life takes an unexpected turn when his reckless brother gains the unwanted attention of a notorious crime boss.
Foster is producing for Chasing Butterflies Pictures alongside Al Bravo for his Al Bravo Films banner. Additional producers include Colin Bates, Eduard Osipov, Michael Pizzimenti and Hemdee Kiwanuka.
Meanwhile, Mena published her tell-all memoir ‘The Great Peace’ in 2021 and confessed that she was worried about being so candid in the book.
The ‘American Beauty’ actress told the ‘Dear Chelsea’ podcast: “Initially, I felt so compelled to share it. I just had to express myself.
“It had its own process. Over the years, I had my diary and I had this book of poetry, this binder that I’d titled ‘The Great Peace’ from the past. It travelled with me for so long and I finally just looked into it again and at that moment – a couple of years ago – I initially just wanted to publish the poetry book. I felt like I could share enough but not all of it.”
Mena added that it was only thanks to persuasion from friends that she went ahead with the book.
She explained: “[My friends] encouraged me to tell all of it. At that moment, I went back and sat with myself and… you know, I felt ready.”

Gemma Atkinson shaves baby bump daily

OHMYGOSSIP — Pregnant star Gemma Atkinson shaves her baby bump every day.
The 38-year-old actress is currently expecting her second child with her fiance, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro dancer Gorka Marquez, and the former ‘Emmerdale’ star revealed she has been grooming her tummy during her pregnancy.
Speaking in an Instagram video, she said: “What else … hairy tummy. Even though I’m shaving it, daily, that’s probably why it’s hairy.”
Gemma also told fans she was going bra shopping because she is at the stage of pregnancy where it was “sports bras only”, and she needed to purchase some new swimwear after discovering she looked like ‘Batman’ character The Penguin when trying on some outfits ahead of her summer holiday.
She said: “I’m off shopping today again. Bra shopping. Because I’m at the stage of sports bras only at the minute.
“I look like Oswald Cobblepot [The Penguin in TV series Gotham] this morning. I tried some swim stuff on for my holiday in the summer.
“I looked like Danny DeVito [who played Oswald/ The Penguin] in Batman [Returns]. I said to Gorka, ‘I’m going to have to go and buy some stuff today.’ ”
Gemma also admitted she had started “sweating profusely” at times, but admitted it was “very handy” being able to use her baby bump to place her mug on.
She added: “Sweating profusely, those have started. Yeah just the usual stuff that comes with growing a human.
“To any other expectant mums I’m with you, I am with you.”
In January, Gemma confirmed she was pregnant.
Alongside some black-and-white photos of her growing baby bump, Gemma – who already has Mia, three, with Gorka – wrote on Instagram: “Impossible to hide my belly any longer. I’ve officially “popped”. Our baby boy will be joining our family later this year.
“We feel so incredibly blessed and Grateful to be on this journey again. Mia is absolutely thrilled!
“Although we may need to do some negotiating on names, as so far she’s adamant he’s going to be called Barbie. (sic)”
Gemma and Gorka met when the actress competed on ‘Strictly’ in 2017, and the loved-up couple got engaged in February 2021.

Reverend Richard Coles ‘frustrated’ at ‘rushed’ BBC Radio 4 departure: ‘It just feels a bit sad’

OHMYGOSSIP — Reverend Richard Coles has been left “frustrated” and “sad” over the way his BBC Radio 4 exit has been handled after 12 years on air.
The 60-year-old clergyman is departing weekend programme ‘Saturday Live’ – which he co-hosts with broadcaster Nikki Bedi – after the BBC opted to relocate the show from London to Cardiff.
Richard’s final show will be on Saturday (25.03.23), but the broadcaster didn’t make a statement about it until five days before his last episode, and the radio presenter admits it “feels a little bit rushed”.
He told The Guardian newspaper: “If you leave a programme after 12 years, a gentler process would have been nice. But what happens happens.
“It just feels a little bit rushed. It’s been frustrating for me having to wait for an announcement, and now it’s my last programme on Saturday. I’d rather have had a longer goodbye to listeners.
“It just feels a bit sad. I’m sorry to go; I’ve loved the programme, I’ve loved the people I’ve worked with, and it’s been a big part of my life. I shall miss it.”
Richard admits it is “a shame” the programme cannot remain in London, where he believes it was “doing really well”.
He said: “I’d have preferred the programme to stay in London. I think it would be better. I was happy doing it and I think it’s gone from strength to strength.
“Moving it to Cardiff, I don’t really see how that works, but that’s not my decision – that’s other people’s decision.
“I think the programme was doing really well, actually. We were both enjoying doing it and it’s a shame it can’t continue in the form it’s been in for a long time, which works, and which pleases listeners.”
The decision for Richard to depart the programme came weeks ago, after the broadcaster decide to relocate it to Cardiff, which comes as part of the BBC’s wider plan to move some key jobs and programmes out of London – to make the corporation more reflective of the UK as a whole.
A BBC spokesperson told the publication: “Richard has been brilliant on Saturday mornings and very much continues to be part of the Radio 4 family.
“We look forward to working with him on future projects.”

Laura Whitmore fronting 3 documentaries about women’s issues for ITVX

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Whitmore will front a string of documentaries about women’s issues.
The former ‘Love Island’ host, 37, is set to present a film about rough sex for ITV’s new streaming service ITVX, amid the increase of interest in violent X-rated online content.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Rough sex is a subject that taps into the grey areas that come with certain behaviours and how we navigate them.
“We’re a society which is increasingly exposed to violence via the internet and that can lead to problems when that manifests itself in real life.
“As in so many similar situations, that often means women bear the brunt of those problems, which is what Laura will be looking at in the doc.”
In November, Laura was revealed to be working on a show about incels, a movement of misogynistic men who feel they are entitled to women’s bodies, time and attention, and blame them for their lack of sexual activity.
At the time, she told the same outlet: “One of the topics I’ve been looking at as part of the new series is incels. I didn’t know a lot about this community other than some high-profile cases in the media.
“By meeting incels and trying to understand the ideology, I’ve been both fascinated and at times scared and shocked.”
Before the latest series of the ITV2 dating show, the BBC Radio 5 Live DJ – who has daughter Stevie, 23 months, with her comedian husband Iain Stirling, 35 – announced she would be stepping back after previously replacing the late Caroline Flack.
Laura wrote on Instagram: “Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love island. There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects. I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series. I hope I did you proud Caroline. (sic)”

Poppy Lee Friar cast in Domino Day

OHMYGOSSIP — Poppy Lee Friar has been cast in ‘Domino Day’.
The ex ‘Ackley Bridge’ star will join Babirye Bukilwa, Alisha Bailey, Molly Harris and Sam Howard-Sneyd in the BBC Three six-episode supernatural series with Siena Kelly as the titular character, a young witch using dating apps to find her next hunting victim, which is filming in Manchester now.
Lauren Sequeira, the show’s writer, said: “I’m over the (full) moon to be doing this project with the BBC and Dancing Ledge Productions, who have really championed my career from the start. I wanted to write a supernatural series that wasn’t only thrilling and twisty, but also tapped into the very real dating scene and how it affects modern relationships.”
“As soon as I saw Siena Kelly, I knew she was my Domino. She has an amazing way of showing both strength and vulnerability in just one look. I’m so excited about the rest of the cast joining her — Percelle, Sam, Babirye, Alisha, Poppy, Molly — they’re all brilliantly cool, edgy, and witchy. I can’t wait for the world to meet them all.”
The production team bringing it to life are raring to “bring it on” and do everything to bring it screens soon.
Dancing Ledge’s Executive producers Laurence Bowen and Chris Carey said: “We’ve always loved Lauren’s writing so producing her first original series in Manchester and helping bring it to life is a dream job. She’s unique in the way she blends incredibly compelling real-world themes with genre, and ‘Domino Day’ is the complete expression of that. Witches, dating and owning your truth. And all of it with the super talented Siena Kelly as our lead alongside a wonderful ensemble cast. Bring it on!”
The BBC’s Controller of Youth Audiences, Fiona Campbell, said: “‘Domino Day’ is a show like no other. Lauren’s scripts brilliantly blend everyday life with the supernatural in a way that will be both entirely relatable but utterly thrilling for BBC Three viewers. We’re thrilled to announce such an exciting cast of rising stars to bring her vision to life.”

Jess Wright has ‘horrible few days’ as baby Presley is taken to hospital

OHMYGOSSIP — Jess Wright has experienced a “horrible few days” after taking her baby Presley to hospital.
The ex ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star admitted there is “nothing worse” than seeing her 10-month-old boy – who she has with her husband William Lee-Kemp – in pain, after it was revealed he has a “bad” throat infection.
The 37-year-old television personality wrote on Instagram: “After a hospital visit + a doctor’s appt, a few horrible days and lots of cuddles, we now know our baby has a bad throat infection.
“Praying he’s on the mend now, nothing worse than seeing them in pain and not knowing how to help.
“I love you baby boy, so much that it hurts. (sic)”
In a follow-up post, Jess labelled her little one a “brave boy”, and she wrote: “I love you so much”.
The update came as the ‘Dance All Night’ singer revealed the holiday to mark her man’s 40th birthday was interrupted with Presley becoming “very poorly”.
Jess told her followers: “Mad few days over here. Skiing for 48 hours for husbands delayed 40th celebrations with friends, followed by home to my baby who then became very poorly.
“Lots of cuddles and rest over here for this little one. Sorry for the radio silence be back soon. (sic)”
Jess – who shot to fame with her brother Mark Wright on ITVBe reality show ‘TOWIE’ – spoke about the “rollercoaster” she was having with post-natal depression in July last year.
She told Fabulous magazine: “Nothing can prepare you for motherhood. I knew it was going to be tough, but unless you’re living it 24/7, no one can describe it … it’s a rollercoaster.
“It’s not all rainbows and magic – it’s f***** tough.
“It’s the reality of looking after another human being and wanting the best for that child in every single way – and judging yourself.”

Amy Hart got baby Stanley ‘checked out’ amid concerns from her social media followers

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Hart took her baby Stanley to get “checked out” amid concerns from her social media followers.
The ex ‘Love Island’ star and her fiance Sam Rason welcomed their baby boy into the world on March 3rd, and she was alerted to a possible “blue tinge” around the youngster’s mouth after sharing a picture of him on Instagram – but it turned out to be “all fine”.
The 30-year-old television personality wrote on her Instagram Story: “Lots of you messaged last night about the blue tinge around Stanley’s mouth in the video of him in his Moses basket.
“Lots said it could be trapped wind, some said it could be cyanosis which could have been more serious.
“We got him checked out and all fine. He’s very luck to have so many people looking out for her so thank you.”
Amy debuted her little one on her on Instagram page in a mirrored post with her man just days after his birth.
They both wrote in the caption: “Stanley Samuel Giles Rason.”
The pair – who went public with their relationship back in August 2021 – explained why each name was selected for their bundle of joy.
They continued: “Stanley: We loved the name and also Amy’s Grandad Geoffs middle name.
“Samuel: After @samuelrason obviously but also Amys brother is Samuel too!
“Giles: Nanny and Grandads last name, hopefully he’ll inherit their love of shots!”
The ex ‘Celebs Go Dating’ star revealed that her “100 per cent unplanned” pregnancy came after she had frozen her eggs back in August.
While appearing on the ITV daytime chat show, ‘Loose Women’, Amy said: “This was a 100 per cent unplanned pregnancy, turns out everyone telling me tracking my cycle isn’t actually a 100 per cent form of contraception was indeed correct.”
After being asked what she would do with them, she admitted that she isn’t afraid to “use them” and only did it to preserve her current “good fertility”.
Amy said: “Use them for second/third/fourth if we need to, if we don’t, donate them! It was never an issue with falling pregnant, it was more the longevity of my fertility.
“For example my Prof said I had two to three years of good fertility left so I froze the higher quality, younger eggs.”

Zack Snyder still has Planet of the Dead plans

OHMYGOSSIP — Zack Snyder still intends to make ‘Planet of the Dead’.
The 57-year-old director is set to helm the sequel to the 2021 Netflix zombie heist flick ‘Army of the Dead’ but confirmed that his current focus is on the upcoming sci-fi epic ‘Rebel Moon’.
Speaking to The Nerd Queens, Zack said: “As far as the ‘Army’ universe goes, it’s still alive and well in my mind. I know exactly what I would do.
“It really depends on how we try to figure out how we go forward with ‘Rebel Moon’ and the ‘Rebel Moon’ universe. It’s not a small-time commitment, ‘Rebel Moon’ stuff. A sci-fi thing at this scale does require a lot of attention to make it all make sense.”
Zack previously suggested that he was “ready” to make an ‘Army of the Dead’ sequel and had held discussions with co-writer Shay Hatten about where they could take the story next.
He told Entertainment Tonight: “Look, if there was ever a desire for more ‘Army of the Dead’, Shay and I know exactly where the story goes. So, yeah, we’re ready.”
Omari Hardwick – who plays the role of Vanderohe – also confirmed that he has held talks with Snyder about the possibility of bringing back his character for ‘Planet of the Dead’.
The 49-year-old star said: “There is hope for all of you fans who don’t mind looking at Omari’s mug, or don’t mind following my journey as an actor. There is some hope.
“There definitely have been some talks about the maybes, the maybes and the ifs.”

Chad Stahelski was fearful about lengthy John Wick: Chapter 4 cut

OHMYGOSSIP — The initial cut of ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ was almost four hours long.
Director Chad Stahelski was worried about the lengthy cut at first, even though he had been given no mandate about how long or short the project should be.
Chad told IndieWire: “To be really honest with you, zero was planned out. Our first cut was three hours and 45 minutes, and it felt like three hours and 45 minutes. We were like, oh, we’re so screwed.”
Editor Nathan Orloff had the task of cutting the movie down to 169 minutes and explained that he was able to make changes by keeping the plot focused on Keanu Reeves’ titular assassin.
He said: “I wanted to make sure that he was still at the centre of the universe, that everything always led back to him even though we were cutting away from him.”
Orloff revealed that he removed any content that was not essential from the initial cut.
He said: “You just compress, compress, compress. I went through a pass where anytime someone repeated an idea they had already expressed, I cut it out. No repeated ideas.
“It’s a very linear story, so there wasn’t a ton of reconstruction or rearrangement we could do. It was just a matter of sifting out what we didn’t need.”
Stahelski described how the editing process led to several viewings of the entire film as he wanted to make sure the story was told at the correct pace.
The 54-year-old filmmaker said: “My editorial staff probably hates me because even if we just took 30 seconds out of something, I’d make everybody watch the movie again.
“That’s the only way you know you have the right pace. You feel that bump in movies all the time because they were doing it in pieces and not seeing it as a whole. The last thing you want to do is treat it as a bunch of parts.”

Montana Brown shares gender reveal video

OHMYGOSSIP — Montana Brown is expecting a baby boy.
The former ‘Love Island’ star – who revealed on Christmas Eve (24.12.22) that she is expecting her first child with partner Mark O’Connor – took to Instagram to share footage of the gender reveal party she and her other half held at Huntlington House in Worcester.
She captioned the clip: “Baby O’Connor is a…. gender reveal weekend at Huntlington House @uniquehomestays so grateful also for the beautiful decorations and set up by @twooakevents.(sic)”
In the video, Montana took a pin and popped a balloon, which revealed blue confetti, and she then embraced Mark before the pair turned to look at their loved ones.
The 27-year-old beauty announced her pregnancy news in December with a video documenting the early stages, including her and Mark grinning while looking at her positive test and her undergoing an ultrasound scan.
She captioned the post: “Baby O’Connor coming next summer [white heart, baby emoji] (sic)”
Meanwhile, Montana – who shot to fame after appearing on the dating show in 2017 – recently reflected on how she had learned to ignore cruel comments about her appearance after she felt pressured into having “really bad” fillers done, only to then face further ridicule.
She said: “I ended up getting this really bad filler. Bearing in mind I was 22, I did not need it at all.
“I started getting negative comments like, ‘What have you done to your face?’.
“So that was one of the really low moments for me and I thought, ‘Actually, I can’t please everybody, I’m just going to have to be happy with the way I am, then everything else will come’.
“I think the self-love journey really started there.
“So if there’s one thing I’d say, especially with social media, just take it with a pinch of salt.
“Everyone’s beautiful in their own unique way.
“And I think we all strive to look like people on Instagram or celebrities, and actually beauty is within your uniqueness.”

‘Good to be here’: Gary Lineker returns to BBC hosting duties

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Lineker declared it was “good to be here” as he returned to his presenting duties for the BBC’s football coverage on Saturday (18.03.23).
The footballer-turned-TV host was asked to step back from presenting flagship football show ‘Match of the Day’ last week in a row over impartiality after he tweeted criticism of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s policy on refugees – prompting a mass walk out of BBC pundits and presenters who stood by him – but after reaching a resolution, he was back alongside Alan Shearer and Micah Richards to front the network’s FA Cup coverage.
Alan addressed the situation – which saw ‘Match of the Day’ reduced to just 20 minutes with no commentary or analysis – at the beginning of the show after Gary’s welcome.
He said: “I just need to clear up and wanted to say how upset we were for all the audiences who missed out on last weekend.
“It was a really difficult situation for everyone concerned and through no fault of their own, some really great people on TV and in radio were put in an impossible situation, and that wasn’t fair.
“So it’s good to get back to some sort of normality and be talking about football.”
Gary added: “Absolutely, echo those sentiments.”
Before the show began, Gary shared a photo of himself with his co-presenters on Twitter, which he captioned: “Teammates”.
He also wrote: “Ah the joys of being allowed to stick to football.”
Mark Chapman hosted the ‘Match of the Day’ highlights show later on Saturday and stressed he had “been booked weeks ago” to take the reigns.
Following last week’s row, BBC director-general Tim Davie issued an apology and confirmed an independent review had been launched to examine the corporation’s guidelines around social media use, particularly when it comes to freelance stars like Gary.

Willem Defoe open to Spider-Man return as Green Goblin

OHMYGOSSIP — Willem Defoe is open to playing Green Goblin again.
The 67-year-old actor portrayed the iconic villain in Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ movie in 2002 and though he was killed off in the film, he reprised the role in 2021’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and he admitted he’d enjoy playing Norman Osborn and his crazed alter ego again in the future.
Asked about the possibility of returning to the role, he told Inverse: “If everything was right, sure. I mean, that’s a great role. I liked the fact that it’s a double role both times.
“Twenty years ago, and fairly recently, both times [were] very different experiences, but I had a good time on both.”
Willem previously admitted he was “shocked” when he was asked to return to the franchise in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.
He said: “It’s always a little difficult when you die in a movie to come back in any sequels.
“I thought I was finished. When they initially said, ‘Would you like to reprise this role?’ I thought, ‘Really? How does that happen?’ I was kind of stupid about it.”
But he was very happy he said yes to the project.
He added: “I can say, and maybe drank the Kool-Aid, but these are people that really are believing in what they’re doing and giving themselves to it in a very full way.
“I’m not just talking about really good actors. I’m talking about the effects people, the camera department — they’re all very top-level. And then when you have the resources and possibility of making a popular film, that’s all pretty attractive.”
Meanwhile, Tobey Maguire – who starred opposite Willem in ‘Spider-Man’ and played the webslinger in two sequels, as well as also returning for ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ – recently admitted he would jump at the chance of embracing any further offers Marvel had for him.
He said: “I love these films, and I love all of the different series.
“If these guys called me and said, ‘Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?’ or ‘Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?’ it would be a ‘yes!’
“Because why wouldn’t I want to do that?”

Samara Weaving relieved Scream VI cast were ‘so welcoming’

OHMYGOSSIP — Samara Weaving felt like the “new girl on the first day of school” when she got to work on ‘Scream VI’.
The ‘Ready or Not’ actress portrays Laura Crane in the latest installment of the slasher franchise and though she was nervous about joining established cast members Courteney Cox, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere and Melissa Barrera, she was relieved everyone was so welcoming towards her.
She told Australia’s Marie Claire magazine: “The cast is such a sweet group of people and they’ve worked together before so there was this feeling of being the new girl on the first day of school. We all went out to dinner and they were so welcoming and just a great group to work and be on set with.”
Samara admitted the original ‘Scream’ film was one of her inspirations when she made her first horror movie, ‘Ready or Not’, back in 2019.
She said: “The original is so good. I love the two killers, but I especially love Drew Barrymore in the opening scene… It’s definitely one of my favourite movies now.”
While the actress was just four years old when ‘Scream’ hit cinemas in 1996, she had another scary experience visiting the cinema that year, a family outing to see Glenn Close in ‘101 Dalmatians’.
She admitted: “I couldn’t sit through it. My parents took my sister and I, and I got so scared that mum had to take me out and we sat in the lobby eating ice cream while my dad and sister watched the rest of the movie.”

Lacey Turner: Dame Barbara Windsor is still ‘very much alive’ thanks to EastEndrs

OHMYGOSSIP — Lacey Turner can still feel Dame Barbara Windsor’s presence on the set of ‘EastEnders’.
The 34-year-old actress worked with the late actress – who died in December 2020 after seven years battling Alzheimer’s – for several years and she admitted the screen legend still seems “very much still alive” thanks to the soap.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “When you are in the Vic you can hear her behind the bar — her little feet. She is very much still alive on EastEnders on our screen.”
Lacey is training for the London Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK in honour of Barbara alongside co-stars Jake Wood and Tanya Franks and the ‘Carry On’ legend’s widower Scott Mitchell, and she’s amazed with her progress so far.
She said: “I have never run in my life. The most I have done is run a bath, so this is a bit of a shock for my body. But I’ve really surprised myself because if somebody had told me to run a mile I’d have laughed in their face. I am up to 13.1 miles and I can’t quite believe it but it is so amazing.
Meanwhile, Lacey’s soap alter ego Stacey Slater’s 12-year-old daughter Lily (Lillia Turner) has recently revealed she is pregnant and the actress admitted she would support her own daughter Dusty if she ever found herself in a similar situation.
The actress – who has Dusty, three, and son Trilby, two, with husband Matt Kay – said: “I hope that if Dusty did come home I would be able to explain to her how difficult at times it can be as a parent and give her all the tools and the knowledge she would possibly need. Hopefully she would make the right decision for her, whatever that would be.
“Having a no-secrets relationship with your child is really important. We are just telling people that you can speak to someone, whether it is your parent, grandparent, a cousin, anyone you can speak to about it, so it highlights being open and honest. I can’t imagine that is an easy thing to say.”
But Lacey was shocked when she was first told about the storyline, though she’s pleased they are tackling the subject.
She said: “I think initially my reaction was the same as most people’s — ‘Wow, that is young’ — but having done research, it happens.
“A lovely lady sent us a message to say she was in hospital and the girl opposite her was 12 and had just given birth. She wanted to thank us for highlighting the story and portraying what happens in real life…
“We tell stories that there is stigma attached to, including mental health and HIV, and over the years we’ve given those storylines a voice which allows the nation to talk about it.
“I know with Stacey and my screen mum Jean Slater’s bipolar that it has really helped and educated a lot of people. It is nice when you get a storyline you know people can relate to and there will be someone out there that might need to watch it to give them the confidence to go ahead and delve into it themselves.”

Apprentice contestant Shazia Hussain alleges she was subjected to racist bullying by fellow candidates

OHMYGOSSIP — Shazia Hussain has claimed she was subjected to racist bullying by her fellow contestants on ‘The Apprentice’.
The 40-year-old technology recruiter alleged she was “verbally abused” by other candidates after she came up with a giraffe character named Yogita during a task to create a pre-school cartoon but some of the other members of her team felt children wouldn’t be able to pronounce the name.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “I felt exposed to aggression because of it. I think it was racist.”
“After the episode, I feel I was verbally abused by some of the candidates.
Shazia – whose team won the task -claimed show bosses brought in a “diversity specialist” to speak with the hopefuls but “nothing changed” and she believes she was fived after the fifth challenge “because it was easier to take [her] out of the situation.
She said: “They (the BBC) brought in a diversity specialist to talk to everyone but I feel nothing changed. The teams were also rearranged but I feel the bullying continued.
“I feel like I was bullied and harassed to the point that I asked to leave the house. I feel like the BBC have failed me.
“I believe the BBC had a duty of care towards me which they neglected to fulfil.”
Shazia launched a complaint about three other candidates but claimed she has had no response.
A spokesperson for the show – which sees contestants battle it out to receive investment from Lord Alan Sugar – insisted they had taken her complaint seriously and they had offered ongoing support to the ousted candidate.
The representative said: “’The Apprentice’ has a zero-tolerance policy on any kind of bullying or threatening behaviour.
“As soon as Shazia raised a concern an investigation was conducted and she received in-person support from senior members of the production team.
“‘The Apprentice’ has a strict code of conduct and we take all complaints very seriously and investigate when needed.
“As a result, when action is required, we take it.
“Throughout the process there is always somebody on hand to deal with any concerns including five members of the production team who live in the house with the candidates during filming.
“If anyone wants to leave the house or the process, candidates are free to do so at any time.
“Since the beginning of the process, Shazia, along with all other candidates, has been, and continues to be, offered extensive and ongoing support, in all aspects of welfare (including managing social media), from BBC and the production company.
“Duty of care to all our candidates is our highest priority and the support offered to candidates before, during and after is paramount.”

Omri Katz ‘wasn’t invited’ to Hocus Pocus sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Omri Katz has claimed the original stars of ‘Hocus Pocus’ “weren’t invited” to be part of the sequel.
The 46-year-old actor starred as teenager Max Dennison in the 1993 fantasy movie and while Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy reprised their roles as a trio of witches known as the Sanderson Sisters in last year’s follow-up, he has claimed many of the original cast members weren’t involved in any discussions about the project.
Omri reunited with Thora Birch, Vinessa Shaw, and Jason Marsden for a panel discussion at a 1990s-themed fan convention over the weekend and the group were asked why they weren’t involved in the sequel.
Omri said: “We weren’t invited to that meeting. So we don’t really know why we weren’t invited.
“I think the fan base really wanted to see something with us. … Yeah, I don’t know. It’s hard to really figure out the decisions that are made regarding what they want to do.”
But Thora explained having them return “was something that was discussed” but the process of the sequel “being brought about was so long” and so many changes were made.
She said: “The desire [and] the concept of maybe doing [a sequel] was about 10 years. But then there were numbers of different writers that came on board and different directors, and so the story and the concept and the direction in which they wanted to take, too, kept evolving and changing and growing.
“I do know that there were, along the way, some concepts and some ideas about ways to bring us back. And for whatever reason, it just didn’t work,” she continued. “Some of us were going to be on, some of us weren’t. And then it just was such a roller coaster ride.
“What we like to say in the business: we had scheduling conflicts.”
Jason suggested he hadn’t been too disappointed not to be asked back even though he had had conversations with creator and producer David Kirschner because he has “been in this business long enough to not get your hopes up about anything, really.”
He said: “I did speak with Mr. David Kirschner. He said he did try to fight to get you three especially.
“But there’s a committee. It’s a team. It’s an IP now — intellectual property. It’s close to your hearts, but it belongs to a committee now. And so it’s left up to them to make the right decisions.”
