Zachary Levi hints that Dwayne Johnson blocked Shazam! Fury of the Gods cameos

OHMYGOSSIP — Zachary Levi has backed reports that Dwayne Johnson blocked ‘Black Adam’ characters from appearing in ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’.
Members of ‘Black Adam’s’ Justice Society of America had been due to appear in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) sequel in a post-credits scene but The Wrap reported on Tuesday (21.03.23) that ‘The Rock’ blocked the characters from featuring and also prevented Levi from making a cameo as Billy Batson/Shazam in the 2022 film ‘Black Adam’.
In an Instagram story, Zachary commented on the report: “The truth shall set you free.”
Director David F. Sandberg had revealed that ‘Black Adam’ were set to appear but the scene “fell apart three days before we were going to roll the cameras” and forced him to find alternative characters at short notice.
The 42-year-old filmmaker told The Hollywood Reporter: “There were supposed to be characters from (‘Black Adam’s’) Justice Society, but that fell apart three days before we were going to roll cameras.
“So, Peter Safran, who produced this movie and ‘Peacemaker’, made some calls, and thankfully, Jen Holland and Steve Agee were able to come by on very short notice.”
‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ has been met with mixed responses from critics and Sandberg took to Twitter to respond to the reviews.
He wrote: “I wasn’t expecting a repeat of the first movie critically but I was still a little surprised because I think it’s a good film. Oh well.”
Rachel Zegler plays Anthea in the superhero film and hit out at the “senselessly mean” criticism of the picture.
She wrote on Twitter: “hey our film is actually really good! but mostly i just absolutely loved making it and the people i met whilst doing so 🙂 go see it! give it a chance. we have an 85 per cent audience score for a reason.
some people out there and just being… senselessly mean. and it’s unnecessary. and i know, i know, “if you can’t handle the heat…” and all that nonsense, and you’re right. but our film is actually very good. it’s just cool to hate on fun nowadays. that’s okay. we’re good. (sic)”

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has unveiled the shortlists for its Television Awards with P+O Cruises and Television Craft Awards, with the BBC’s top shows leading the way.
‘This Is Going To Hurt’ star Ben Wishaw and The Responder’s Martin Freeman are both nominated for leading actor, while the latter is in the running for the drama series prize, as well as the original music category.
Meanwhile, first time nominees Josh Finan and Adelayo Adedayo are on the shortlist for the respective supporting actor and actress awards.
‘This Is Going To Hurt’ also has nominations for mini series, director and editing in fiction, scripted casting and writer in drama.
‘The Crown’, ‘Top Boy’, ‘Bad Sisters’, ‘The English’, ‘Slow Horses’, ‘Am I Being Unreasonable?’, ‘Big Boys’ and ‘Somewhere Boy’ are all among the top nominees with multiple nods.
Jane Millichip, CEO of BAFTA, said: “Huge congratulations to all our nominees. Today a record number of entries in Television and Craft resulted in 128 nominations, demonstrating fantastic strength and depth in programming and talent in 2022.

Olivia Colman admits Fionn Whitehead looked terrified when they kissed

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Colman jokes Fionn Whitehead was “terrified” by their ‘Great Expectations’ kiss.
The 49-year-old actress is playing dishevelled spinster Miss Havisham in BBC1’s new adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic – which features a dark twist on the tale with her character depicted as an opium addict – and she has reflected on changes ‘Peaky Blinder’ made to the story, such as seeing Miss Havisham lock lips with Pip.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “He was so terrified! No acting involved for him. I love that she’s mortified when he looks so horrified.
“Anything in Steven’s hands is heightened and makes it better.
“It was totally not what I’d imagined. And that’s partly why, when I read everything I was so drawn to it.”
Knight had defended giving BBC’s adaptation a racier treatment by including sex scenes and an alternate ending as he argued that Dickens was restricted by what he could write at the time.
He said: “Dickens was asking the question ‘Can you get out of your class?’ In the book the conclusion is that he doesn’t get out and that’s ok. Without giving it away, in the adaptation I’ve done, you can’t get out and that’s not OK.”
On adding steamy bedroom scenes, such as Pip losing his virginity, Knight said it was hidden in code with the book itself.
He added: “I think if you take a microscope to the text – for example Pumblechook and Mrs Gargery – there are a couple of lines in there where they disappear together. I think the Victorian readership were a bit more forensic about what was going on than we are.
“If Dickens were around now and had the liberty to go down some of those dark alleys, this is what he would have done.”

Louie Spence went on Big Brother ‘for the money’

OHMYGOSSIP — Louie Spence admits he joined ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ for the “pay cheque”.
The 53-year-old choreographer, who catapulted into the spotlight after his stint on TV show ‘Pineapple Dance Studios’, has appeared on multiple reality shows throughout the years including ‘The Farm’ and ‘Celebs On A Ranch’, while his 2013 stint in the celebrity version of the iconic show was more of a financially-motivated move.
When asked about his favourite reality show experience, he told the Metro newspaper’s Sixty Seconds column: “’The Jump’ because it was amazing to learn to ski. I like things that are active and you learn something from.
“‘Big Brother’ was a pay cheque. I did ‘The Farm’ and ‘Celebs on a Ranch’ for Channel 5 – I adore animals so they were a joy. Anything with celebs in it.”
Most recently, Louie appeared on ‘Help! My House is Haunted’ after experiencing paranormal activity in his home – which he shares with his husband Leto Fernandez – and he was told it was the spirit of his late mother.
He said: “We’ve been in our house for a year now but after about six months of living here my agent called me about the show. It was funny because a couple of incidents we couldn’t explain had literally happened just a couple of days before.
“My husband is a big non-believer but even he feels as if someone tapped him on the shoulder. There were strong smells of soap and perfume – and no one smokes and there’s no women in the house.
“The perfume was very sweet and not modern, but it was all from one area. Also the lid came off a box by itself and there was no explanation because it was clipped. So I said, ‘Let’s get them over and see what they say.’ I was frightened – the house has a really lovely feeling and I like living in old houses.”

Adam Woodyatt is ‘loving’ life after EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Woodyatt is “loving” life outside ‘EastEnders’.
The 54-year-old actor – who played Ian Beale on the primetime BBC soap for thirty six years from 1985 until 2021 before returning for a cameo appearance in 2022 – doesn’t miss the “intense” schedule and admits he’s happy to move on from the show that made him a household name.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “It is very intense, it’s hard work, it’s long hours. It doesn’t give you a lot of time to do anything else. You can’t plan doing anything else.
“Whereas now I’ve suddenly got a life outside and I’m loving it.”
According to Adam, no actor wants to play the same role for the rest of their life and since leaving ‘EastEnders’ he’s been staring in theatre shows such as ‘My Fair Lady’, allowing him to explore various roles.
He added: “I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future. I don’t know where life is going to take me.
“I don’t know what my next job is going to be. I could end up doing loads of stage work. I could end up doing films.
“I’ll see what happens. At the moment I am quite happy.
“I don’t think you ever fully leave ‘EastEnders’. Even if I never go back people will always think of me as Ian Beale.”
In a previous interview with Wales Online, Adam discussed his future with the long-running soap opera and said ‘never say never’ to the idea of a retur, but he insisted it would have to be a fitting storyline.
He said: “The story has to be right, they’ve also got to come up with a story and it has to be at a time when I’m not doing something else.
“I keep getting asked this but it is very difficult to answer it because there is no answer.
“Doors keep opening and I keep going through these other doors.”

Chris Tucker will ‘definitely’ return for Rush Hour 4

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Tucker is ready to return for ‘Rush Hour 4’.
The 51-year-old star featured alongside Jackie Chan in the action-comedy trilogy between 1998 and 2007 and teased that a fourth installment is one of his upcoming projects.
Speaking to The Big Tigger Morning Show on Audacy’s V-103, Chris said: “You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level.
“That’s what I like… I’m excited about that. It’s not going to be what you’ve normally seen… ‘Rush Hour 4’, that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I’ve got some new stuff that I think you’re really gonna like. I’m excited about it.”
The ‘Rush Hour’ franchise follows Hong Kong detective Chief Inspector Lee (Chan) who forms an unlikely friendship with a loudmouth LAPD officer Detective James Carter (Tucker) to solve a series of international crimes.
Jackie confirmed last year that a fourth movie was in the pipeline.
The martial arts icon said: “We’re talking about part 4 right now.”
Chan revealed that he was planning to meet the film’s director to discuss the script although he did not identify who the filmmaker was.
Brett Ratner helmed the three previous ‘Rush Hour’ movies but faced allegations of sexual assault in 2017 that led Warner Bros. to sever their ties with him.
Jackie also revealed that he feared that the original film would flop at the box office and was planning to quit Hollywood if it didn’t work out.
The ‘Shanghai Noon’ star recalled: “I tried so many times to go to Hollywood, but after that, I said no more Hollywood because my English is not good, they’re not my culture, they don’t like this kind of action.
“My manager said look, there’s a script, and it’s called ‘Rush Hour’. I said ‘No, Hong Kong police? I’m not going to do it’. He said Jackie, ‘Why don’t you try last time?’ I said, ‘Okay, this is the last time.'”

Ruth Madeley used Disney films as an escape during childhood surgeries

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Madeley had Disney films as an escape when she was dealing with surgeries as a child.
The ‘Years and Years’ actress is a massive Disney fan and admitted the movies have always been there to help her with the tough times stemming from her spina bifida diagnosis – which is where a baby’s spine and spinal cord does not develop properly in the womb, causing a gap in the spine – six weeks before she was born.
Speaking to Giovanna Fletcher on the Walt Disney Travel Company’s ‘Journey to the Magic’ podcast, she said: “For me, Disney is just pure nostalgia, even the new films, because me and my sister grew up on Disney. There’s nothing but good vibes.
“I spent so much of my childhood and teenage years in hospital and Disney films, literally, the night before I knew I was having surgery I would watch a Disney film. It was literally the best kind of distraction and the best feel-good thing for anything.
“Go through break up, Disney film. Having surgery, Disney film. Regular Tuesday night, Disney film. But yeah I think just that sheer feeling of comfort and safety is really nice.”
When it comes to Disney Princesses, Ruth has “always” loved Aurora from ‘Sleeping Beauty’ after being given the nickname herself by an anesthetist following one of her operations.
She added: “He was like, ‘Hiya sleeping beauty’, before I threw up. Something really un-princess-like but, ‘Sleeping Beauty’ was always my favourite.
“If I was going to be a Princess, I would be Aurora, but the idea of falling asleep until all your problems go away is lovely! [laughs]”
Ruth is an avid fan of the Disney theme parks too, and her favourite trip was a visit to Walt Disney World Orlando with her boyfriend Joe Lawrence in September 2022, which marked the first time they’ve been away since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ruth admitted she “could not stop crying” from the moment they stepped foot in the Magic Kingdom, through to the journey home.
She said: “It’s really special to me and my boyfriend because I’ve only ever been to Orlando with him, so it just feels like our place.
“And it is that sense of knowing that access is so easy, everything, I genuinely do not have to worry about anything when I get there. I know all the restaurants are accessible, shops accessible, the rides and all of that with the access pass, which will get onto in a little bit.
“That all helps so so much and it just feels like you don’t have to second guess any of that which, as a disabled person, especially as a wheelchair user with a physical disability, I never get that privilege of never having to think about it.”

Taron Egerton wants ‘fitting’ Kingsman conclusion

OHMYGOSSIP — Taron Egerton is hoping for a “fitting” conclusion to the ‘Kingsman’ franchise.
The 33-year-old will return as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin for the last time in ‘Kingsman: The Blue Blood’ and is hoping that Colin Firth returns alongside him in the role of Harry Hart.
Taron told Collider: “(Matthew Vaughn) has every intention of making it, and I have every intention of playing Eggsy one more time. That was always what I thought I was committed to doing.
“It’s the role that made my name, I suppose, in a way, I just want it to be absolutely right if we do it again, and I want the story to do justice to the part that really changed my life.”
The ‘Rocketman’ actor continued: “I want it to be a fitting ending. And I would, obviously, really hope that Colin would come back for at least a part of it, and who knows? We’ll have to see, but we are planning to talk about it, actually, the next time we see one another, so who knows? Watch this space.”
Taron suggested that director Matthew Vaughn wants to put the relationship between his and Firth’s alter egos to the test in the third movie.
He explained: “Eggsy and Harry (will be in it), obviously. But it’s the gang coming back together, and it’s one of those moments that… when we wrote the screenplay, it was very much about, okay, I saw how people loved the relationship of Eggsy and Harry.
“So we just came up with this thing, what could be the ultimate reason for them to either fall in love or to hate each other forever? So that’s what this movie is all about is will they or won’t they, let’s just say.”

TV news legend Alastair Stewart is retiring from broadcasting

OHMYGOSSIP — Alastair Stewart is retiring from regular broadcasting.
The 70-year-old TV news anchor is bringing an end to his career after spending 47 years working as a journalist on local and national television in the UK.
Stewart was at ITV News for over three decades before making the jump to start-up channel GB News in 2021.
An announcement from GB News confirmed that the newsreader is stepping back from his role and had fronted the final episode of his programme, ‘Alastair Stewart Friends’, last weekend.
Although he won’t be a regular on screens anymore, Stewart will return to GB News as an occasional contributor and he will be providing commentary for the upcoming coronation of King Charles III in May.
Commenting on his retirement, Stewart said in a statement: “I’m nearly 71 and I still get the most tremendous lift from live television – it’s the best job in the world. However, the rigours of preparing for two live interview shows a week, and commuting from Hampshire to London for them, are considerable.
“I want to reduce my commitment while I’m still ahead as an old broadcaster, rather than an ancient one. Thankfully the timing is mine; I just want to spend more of it with my family, my horses, and the charities that have meant so much to me over the years.”
Since joining GB News, Stewart was the announcer on air for Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022 and was the anchor for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier in the year.

Jeremy Paxman to be honoured for contribution to broadcasting

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Paxman is to be honoured for his contribution to broadcasting at the 49th annual Broadcasting Press Guild Awards.
The 72-year-old star will receive the prestigious Harvey Lee Award for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting at the awards lunch at Royal Horseguards Hotel in Whitehall, London, on Friday (24.03.23).
The accolade celebrates Jeremy’s 50 years of broadcasting, including his work on ‘Newsnight’, ‘Panorama’, ‘Breakfast Time’ and ‘University Challenge’, and started with his first job as a graduate trainee at BBC Radio Brighton back in 1972.
BPG’s chairman Grant Tucker said: “As an organisation of journalists, the BPG holds Jeremy Paxman in very high esteem for his broadcasting record which has meant remarkable longevity, a unique authenticity, and a fierce desire to hold some people’s feet to the fire.
“We loudly applaud Jeremy’s famous interview interrogations of the powerful and his dedication to the journalistic craft, which provides the very best for his viewers, listeners and readers.”
Jeremy’s May 1997 interview with then-Home Secretary Michael Howard is remembered as one of the most memorable political interviews of all time, after he asked the same question of the minister 12 times.
During his 15 years on ‘Newsnight’, from 1989 to 2014, he also interviewed former British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Theresa May, US President George Bush, Italian leader Silvio Berlusconi, and UK party leaders Ed Miliband and Charles Kennedy, as well as stars David Bowie, Dizzie Rascal and Russell Brand, among many others.
Jeremy is also known for presenting ‘University Challenge’, which he will step down from at the end of the current 52nd series after 29 years at the helm, and he has appeared as himself in the political comedy ‘The Thick Of It’.
The BPG Television, Streaming and Audio Awards are highly prized by programme-makers because they are selected independently by journalists who write about TV, radio, streaming and podcasts – correspondents, critics and previewers.
The BPG awards lunch will be attended by award winners, BPG members, and leading broadcasting executives.

“It’s a real joy to come to work every day and play Cam.
“I can’t wait for the viewers to meet nurse Cam as he arrives at Holby and very quickly realises he might have bitten off more than he can chew!”
‘The Bay’ star Anna will play quick-witted and outgoing Jodie.
She said: “It’s been an absolute buzz so far, the team at ‘Casualty’ are so welcoming!
“Joining with the others (Eddie-Joe, Barney, Sarah Jaye) has been such a beautiful experience, we have built up a great connection and friendship – filming scenes with those guys is always a laugh.
“Jodie is a joy to play. She is fun, flirty and is always up for a night out.
“Often pushing her emotions aside with a vodka tonic! Jodie is hard-faced, strong and often let’s her brain fall out of her mouth, but despite all this she is great at her job and has quite a shock on her first shift.
“I’m so grateful to be bringing Jodie to life and I’m excited about what’s to come for her.”
Sarah will portray straight-talking and confident Rida, while Eddie-Joe has joined the cast as ambitious and glory-hungry Ryan.
The four characters will be seen on screen in April and accompanied by Holby’s fun-loving nurse, turned ward sister, Donna Jackson (Jaye Jacobs), who will return to the hospital to take on a new challenge.

Steven Knight ‘to write new Star Wars movie’ after Damon Lindelof departure

OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Knight is to write the new ‘Star Wars’ movie.
The ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator – who wrote the screenplays for movies ‘Dirty Pretty Things’, ‘Closed Circuit’, and ‘Locke’ – is said to have replaced screenwriters Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson on the secret sci-fi project, according to Variety.
‘Ms. Marvel’ director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is still expected to direct the movie, but details about the plot are under wraps.
Further information about the film, including a potential title, are set to be unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration in London in April, with the movie looking increasingly likely to be the next big screen project in the franchise following 2019’s ‘The Rise of Skywalker’.
In recent years, Disney has prioritised building the ‘Star Wars’ universe on television with hit shows such as ‘The Mandalorian’, but a number of new film projects are in development.
The reasons behind the departures of Lindelof and Britt-Gibson have not been disclosed, but the ‘Lost’ creator had hinted at difficulties in an interview last month.
He told SlashFilm: “I will just say, that for reasons that I can’t get into on this Sunday morning, on this day, the degree of difficulty is extremely, extremely, extremely high. If (the film) can’t be great, it shouldn’t exist.
“That’s all I say, because I have the same association with (‘Star Wars’) as you do, which is, it’s the first movie I saw sitting in my dad’s lap, four years old, May of ’77.
“I think it’s possible that sometimes when you hold something in such high reference and esteem, you start to get in the kitchen and you just go, ‘Maybe I shouldn’t be cooking. Maybe I should be just eating.’ We’ll just leave it at that point.”

Chris Pine on working with Michelle Rodriguez: ‘It was exciting’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Pine relished getting to star opposite Michelle Rodriguez in ‘Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’.
The 42-year-old actor was thrilled to get to work with the ‘Fast and Furious’ star, 44, in the star-studded flick based on the game of the same name.
First speaking about his lead role as bard Edgin Darvis, he told Den of Geek: “It seems to fit in nicely with the kind of characters I seem to like to play, which are normal dudes that task themselves with doing big things, even though they may not be good at it, or don’t have special powers, or don’t believe in themselves all that much.
“I haven’t ever played a character with extrasensory, special powers. I seem to like playing real humans trying to do big things.”
He then said of his co-star: “Knowing I was going to work opposite Michelle Rodriguez was exciting.”
The cast also includes Rege-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant.
Rege-Jean recently shared how “surprised” by the script he was.
The 34-year-old actor plays Xenk Yendar in the action-comedy film and admitted that he never expected the tale to have such a “human” element to it.
The ‘Bridgerton’ actor told SFX magazine: “I don’t think anyone knew quite what they were getting into when they picked up a ‘Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ script.
“I surprised was at how there was a very human throughline to the story. We all put it down smiling, having laughed and cared about this world, which is quite a delicate balance to strike.”

Lord Sugar to front new series of Apprentice Australia

OHMYGOSSIP — Lord Sugar will front a new series of ‘The Apprentice Australia’.
The 75-year-old businessman has fronted all 17 series of the UK-based show, but he is heading Down Under once again for a brand-new season of the Australian version.
The programme has been confirmed to begin on BBC Three on April 4th.
It will see 16 celebrities battle it out over the coming weeks to win money for their charities, avoid being fired, and ultimately end up crowned Australia’s Celebrity Apprentice.
On the show, Lord Sugar will be joined by retail magnate Janine Allis and tycoon Nick Bell to judge the first challenge.
Week one will tee off with a fundraising golf tournament, in which the stars are split into two teams, ‘Innovate’ and ‘Collaborate’.
Earlier this week, Lord Sugar admitted he thinks the UK-based ‘The Apprentice’ would “kill itself off” if he was replaced on the programme.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I don’t want to sound too big-headed but a lot of people underestimate me.
“They hear me talking like a cockney, but I know everything, I really do.
“I’m not degrading people like (‘Dragons’ Den’ star) Peter Jones, because they’ve done a lot also.
“But none of them have done as much as I have.
“Who would I put in my place? I can’t think of anybody. There’s loads of people that would queue up.”
‘The Apprentice Australia’ starts at 9pm on Tuesday 4 April on BBC Three, and the whole series will be available to watch via BBC iPlayer from 6am on the same day.

Chris Kamara pays tribute to Soccer AM after show’s axe

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Kamara has paid tribute to ‘Soccer AM’ after it was confirmed the show is to end after nearly 30 years.
The 65-year-old pro footballer-turned-pundit has remembered his 14 years of “having a laugh” on the long-running Sky football programme, on which he was a regular guest interviewing players and managers at football stadiums around the country.
He wrote on Twitter: “Just heard that @SoccerAM is finishing at the end of the season. I had 14 years of going through Premier League and @EFL clubs dressing rooms. Training with Clubs for features and basically having a laugh. Fun part of my time at Sky (sic)”
The show’s best-known presenters were Helen Chamberlain, who hosted for 22 years, and Tim Lovejoy, who co-hosted with Helen from 1996 to 2007.
Regular crew member Rocket (James Long) has recalled how Tim was always trying to and encourage his co-stars to “push the boundaries” on the programme.
He told The Sun newspaper: “Every week Tim would say, ‘If we are not pushing the boundaries we are not doing our job.’
“He wanted to be called into the head’s office every week for something that had been inappropriate or he pushed it too far.
“But he said, ‘That’s when you know you’re doing a good job.’ That was the mentality of the show.
“Sadly I don’t know if that show can exist now because if there’s a reason to complain about something, generally someone will. They’ll take offence.
“There’s so much you could have taken offence at. We pushed it to the line a lot of the time.”
There are now just 10 episodes of ‘Soccer AM’ left, with the final whistle on the show set to blow at the end of the current football season.
A Sky spokesperson told the publication: “‘Soccer AM’ has played an important role in our coverage of football for the past three decades, and we continually adapt to the evolving needs of our customers.
“We now go into a period of consultation to discuss the proposed changes with our people. We are unable to provide more detail while these consultations are underway.”
It’s said staff were told on Tuesday (21.03.23) that the show would be ending, and they will be made redundant in May.
An insider said: “It was a complete bombshell. Morale is at an all-time low, they are raging.
“It’s going to be an interesting watch over the next few weeks.”
The popular programme – which balances the week’s football news, goals and more with sketches, celebrity guests and challenges – first aired on Sky in 1995.
John “Fenners” Fendley and Jimmy Bullard currently co-host the show.
‘Saturday Social’ – which has previously aired before ‘Soccer AM’ at 9.30am – will move into its 10.30am Saturday slot.

Destry Allyn Spielberg to make directorial debut on Please Don’t Feed the Children

OHMYGOSSIP — Destry Allyn Spielberg will make her directorial debut on ‘Please Don’t Feed the Children’.
The daughter of legendary director Steven Spielberg is to helm the psychological thriller that will star Michelle Dockery.
The movie will begin production next month in New Mexico and has been scripted by Paul Bertino.
In the picture, a viral outbreak ravages the country’s adult population and a group of orphans travel south in search of a new life – only to find themselves at the mercy of a deranged woman who harbours a dangerous secret.
Spielberg, 26, said: “I am so grateful to have the opportunity to bring this story to the screen with such a collaborative and inspirational team. This picture is so much more than just a horror film.
“It’s a dream come true to work with a talent such as Michelle Dockery. I am excited to elevate the genre with our incredible cast and crew.”
She will make this film before ‘Four Assassins (and a Funeral)’, which she originally expected to make her feature debut behind the camera on.
The movie is still in the works from Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee’s Thunder Road Pictures but has been pushed back for the time being.
Destry’s father has directed classic films such as ‘Jaws’ and ‘Schindler’s List’ but revealed that he had no idea about what he was going to do next after making the personal flick ‘The Fabelmans’.
Speaking at the Berlin International Film Festival, he said: “I don’t know what I’m going to do next. I have no idea.
“And it’s kind of a nice feeling, and it’s also a horrible feeling. It’s nice that I can actually have control of my life again and make my own choices. But I need to work and I love to work. That’s the biggest question I’m going to have for the rest of the year, trying to figure this out.”
