‘That’s my dream!’Fall Out Boy star Patrick Stump wants to write a Marvel score

OHMYGOSSIP — Patrick Stump wants to write the soundtrack for a Marvel movie.
The 38-year-old singer is best known as the lead vocalist of rock band Fall Out Boy but is so “obsessed” with the MCU that his “dream” is to write the score for a film from the comic book movie franchise and would even want to have a cameo.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “My dream is to score a Marvel movie. Whenever you haven’t seen me working with the band I have been doing movie scores. I am obsessed with Marvel. I would love to have a cameo too!”
The ‘Love From the Other Side’ hitmaker went on to add that he has even come up with a role for himself, noting that he would like to take on the part of Puck from ‘Alpha Flight.’
He added: “There is an Alpha Flight character called Puck and I think I would be perfect for him. He is my guy. He is short, he has a ’tache. He could be my character.”
Last month, it was announced that Patrick is to guest as new character The Announcer in an episode of Disney Junior Marvel series ‘Spidey And His Amazing Friends’ – for which he has also written the theme tune – and recently explained how he was able to juggle recording the show with being on tour.
He told Kerrang!: “You know, they’ve always co-existed really. I was doing the last season of the Spidey show when I was on the Hella Mega Tour, so it’s something I’ve figured out. It’s like, what do you do on tour? Some people go out to dinner, some go and play other shows, some go sightseeing… I work on a TV show – that’s my thing! I play the show and then I go back and put my headphones on and get back to work.”

Christopher Biggings tried to stop Paul O’Grady from smoking

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Biggings tried to stop Paul O’Grady from smoking.
The TV legend died suddenly at the age of 67 towards the end of March and whilst no cause of death has been revealed yet, he endured three heart attacks in his life, and now pantomime icon Christopher Biggins, 74, has told of how he once tried to stop him from smoking cigarettes whilst they were on holiday together with the late Cilla Black.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he said: “It’s such a tragedy. We were on holiday in a villa with Cilla many, many years ago in Spain and he’d been told not to smoke by the doctor. I was downstairs with Cilla having a coffee and she said ‘Can you smell smoke?’ So I went up to tell him, I went up like a matron and knocked on the door. I said ‘Paul, you’re smoking!’ He said ‘I’m not’, so I said ‘Paul, do you think we’re idiots? We can smell it!’ But within five minutes we were on the floor laughing hysterically.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here’ winner went on to add that Paul – who shot to fame as drag queen Lily Savage in the 1980s before eventually launching a television career in his own right – was such a “funny man” who was “just brilliant” but wrongly thought when he first saw him that he would never make it in show business.
He added: “He was such a funny man. We will never see the like of him again, he was so quick-witted, he never used autocue. Everything was live and he was just brilliant. I used to watch him years ago in all those gay pubs in the East End and people would say ‘Oh, one day he’s going to be a huge star’ and I used to say ‘Oh, no way!’ because you just couldn’t believe that [could happen]. He was so clever, witty, and that was what was so wonderful about him. He was witty, quick-witted and he could have everybody laughing hysterically.”

The fourth instalment of the Keanu Reeves-fronted action movie series has taken home a strong international box office performance despite competition from ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ and the ‘Dungeons + Dragons: Honour Among Thieves’.
The Chad Stahelski-helmed flick made a significant portion of its revenue in the North American market with $147.06 million earnt there and getting the rest of the $159 million from overseas audiences. Currently,
It is set to beat its predecessor ‘John Wick: Chapter 4 – Parabellum’ global total of $328.3 million as it is yet to be released in South Korea and the Middle East later this month.
The ‘John Wick’ universe has been tipped to be growing with the new spin-off ‘Ballerina’, which will feature ‘Blonde’ star Ana De Armas in the lead role and has a planned June 2024 release. In addition, the lore will expand into the television sphere with the Peacock series, ‘The Continental’.
Recently, Vincent Bouillon, the stunt double for the 58-year-old actor’s title role – who has also appeared in blockbusters like ‘The Hunger Games’ and ‘Six Underground’ – shared how Chad had “so many ideas” on set.
He told the online news outlet, Express.co.uk: “We have a main direction but every time (they started filming) Chad is like: ‘Mmm, I got an idea! Let’s do this!’ He has so many ideas.
“What the choreographer does in the movie is mix the few actions that we trained with Keanu with other things.
“It was different every day! Insane! We have an idea of what we’re doing but yeah it’s rebuilt every time.”

JLS star OritseWilliams making plans with Simon Cowell for TV show

OHMYGOSSIP — Ortise Williams is making plans for his own TV show with the help of Simon Cowell.
The 36-year-old singer met music mogul Simon, 63, when he auditioned for his ITV1 talent competition ‘The X Factor’ in 2008 as part of boy band JLS and has hailed the TV judge as an “inspiration” as he teased that the pair of them had spoken “many times” about the idea of making a show together.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I’ve always thought of different ideas of making my own show. Simon and I have a good relationship. We talk every year pretty much and obviously he was an inspiration to our whole music world. So to be able to create something that has such an impact and such a movement will be unbelievable. We have spoken about many ideas, that’s all I’ll say.”
During the original run of ‘The X Factor’, Simon discovered acts such as JLS – who placed second to ‘Hallelujah’ songstress Alexandra Burke – as well as ‘Starstruck’ host Olly Murs, West End star Diana Vickers and put together the billion dollar boyband One Direction before returning the format in 2018 after 14 years on air.
However, just weeks ago, it was reported that Channel 5 were “keen” to secure a big-money deal with him in the hopes of starting a “new chapter” in the talent show genre.
An insider said: “This would be a huge move for Simon, who carved out a TV career based on ‘BGT’ and ‘X Factor’ on Channel 5’s rival station. It would effectively see him turn his back on ITV after two decades which have seen him deliver them two of their biggest hits. There’s a strong sense that one chapter is ending and another beginning and Channel 5 are keen to be a part of that. But they’d need to nail down a seven-figure contract to seal the deal to bring him across.”

Ben Affleck says showing Michael Jordan in Air ‘would destroy the movie’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck says depicting Michael Jordan in ‘Air’ “would destroy the movie”.
The ‘Argo’ director – who helmed the story of the iconic Nike shoe line Air Jordan’s conception in the 80s that he also stars in with Matt Damon, Viola Davis and Jason Bateman- admitted not putting the NBA legend, now 60, in the movie because of “naked self-interest” because no actor could match the “one of kind” energy of him.
The 50-year-old actor said according to the Hollywood Reporter: “How do you tell a story about Michael Jordan and never see him?
“When you are that person, when you become so much more than a hero or an athlete or even an icon, you start to become an idea to people. You touch them and just start to represent hope and excellence and greatness. You are one of a kind. And there is no way I was ever going to ask an audience to believe that anybody other than Michael Jordan was Michael Jordan. Which was also out of my own naked self-interest, frankly, because I knew it would destroy the movie. You will see him [in archival clips] in the movie, but you will see Michael Jordan as he truly is in his authentic masterful genius which exists for all of us to see. It was a deliberate choice. I thought he was too majestic to have anyone impersonate him and – as I told him – ‘You’re too old to play the part.’”
Previously, Ben deemed Michael “too big” to cast with a performer.
He told the same magazine: “Jordan is too big. He exists above and around the story, but if you ever concretize him, if you ever say, ‘Yes, that’s Michael Jordan,’ we know it’s not, really. It’s fake. I thought if the audience brought everything they thought and remembered about him and what he meant to them to the movie and projected it onto the movie, it worked better.”

Love Island’s Millie Court dating again following split from Liam Reardon

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Court is dating again after her split from Liam Reardon.
The ‘Love Island’ star, 26, won the 2021 edition of the ITV2 dating show with Liam, 23, however, they went their separate ways last July.
And now, the former fashion buyer’s administrator has confirmed she has a new secret boyfriend.
In a YouTube Q+A, she spilled: “‘Am I dating?’ is the next question. There have been a lot of rumours and a lot in the press. I am going to confirm that I am dating someone.”
However, it’s early days yet, and she isn’t ready to share who her lover is.
She added: “But I’m not ready to tell you guys, yet. I love you guys, and I love your support. But it’s early doors, and you experienced a whole full-blown meeting someone, relationship on TV, the whole thing, and then everything afterwards.”
Millie also admitted that part of the reason for her split from Liam was having their relationship constantly scrutinised in the public eye after she was inundated with comments saying he had cheated on her.
On her time on the show, she said: “That was the best experience ever of my life, genuinely. But it is a lot when you have all eyes on you and everything in your relationship.”
However, she added: “I struggled with that a lot because it just wasn’t nice.
“I don’t really want people to be involved in my personal relationship, it ruined things.
“That was a big part why my last relationship ended.”
Millie recently revealed she has been having therapy after keeping all of her feelings bottled up.
She said on Instagram: “I had my first session before Christmas and just that one hour opened up so much to me.
“Cliche as it might sounds but I’m solely focusing on my career as we’ve entered a new year and I can’t wait to treat my body and mind the way it deserves.
“Loving myself comes first.”

Harry Styles wanted ‘darker’ roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles wanted to make “darker” movies than ‘The Little Mermaid’.
The ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ actor was tipped to play Prince Eric in the live-action remake of the classic fairytale and while director Rob Marshall confirmed he did discuss the part with the ‘As It Was’ singer, the former One Direction star ultimately decided it wasn’t for him.
Rob told Entertainment Weekly: “[Harry] really felt like he wanted to go off and do the movies that he ended up doing, which were sort of darker.”
Instead, Jonah Hauer-King was chosen for the role because of the “sweetness” and “deep passion” the director was looking for, though there were three other people up for the part.
The ‘Little Women’ actor recalled his final audition with Halle Bailey, who plays the lead role of Ariel, and their easy bond.
He said: “I didn’t take her being kind to me as any indication. I just assumed she was a lovely person and would’ve done that for anyone.”
But Jonah was then left “traumatised” after overthinking the actress’ kindness when she knocked on his trailer door to wish him luck and express her hope of seeing him again.
He said: “I thought, ‘What does it all mean? Is that an indication? Did she knock on everyone’s door?'”
But it was a genuine gesture and the pair grew very close during filming.
Jonah added: “We became very, very close friends — and still are.”
Meanwhile, Rob and his partner, producer John DeLuca, were thrilled to be approached by Disney to work on the movie and the director has promised fans are in for a “very emotional” ride.
He said: “It’s a very emotional story.
“We were able to take the beauty of what’s there in the original film and the Hans Christian Andersen tale and really bring more depth.”

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena’s role in the new ‘Barbie’ film has been confirmed.
A new trailer for the live-action flick about the iconic toy doll has arrived, revealing the full cast.
And joining Margot Robbie (Barbie) and Ryan Gosling (Ken) is the 45-year-old WWE star and actor after his name appeared in the credits.
Pop star Dua Lipa’s Mermaid Barbie has also been unveiled in a promo shared by the 27-year-old singer, who dons a candy blue wig and shell-shaped bikini.
It was previously reported that the wrestler will play Dua’s love interest in the movie.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column earlier this year: “Dua has been in London filming for the Barbie film and has really thrown herself into it.
“She is playing a beautiful mermaid and has been having fun with the role and made it her own.
“There are going to be loads of special effects added afterwards to make her character look as good as possible on screen, so filming it has been a bit weird.
“But it has all gone really well so far and there aren’t too many scenes left to shoot.”
The cast also includes Hollywood legend Will Ferrell, ‘Sex Education’ star Emma Mackey, ‘Bridgerton’ actress Nicola Coughlan, and the incoming Doctor Who, Ncuti Gatwa, and Marvel star Simu Liu.
Margot, 32, recently teased that Greta Gerwig’s film is “everything you’ve ever dreamed of”.
The ‘Birds of Prey’ star’s production company LuckyChap Entertainment secured the rights to the story for the film, and the ‘Lady Bird’ director was her first choice to helm the project.
Speaking to Carey Mulligan for Variety, Margot said: “I’ve been working on it for about four or five years now — it’s a LuckyChap project. And we went after Greta [Gerwig]. There were maybe three people that we would want to make a ‘Barbie’ movie with, and I was like, if she says no …. So thank God she said yes. She’s just brilliant.”
Carey then asked: “Do you make giant Barbie houses in the film?
Margot replied: “The dream houses? You’ll see some dream houses. And it will be everything you ever dreamed of.”
‘Barbie’ hits cinemas on July 21.

‘You can never fill that gap!’ Debbie McGee remembers Paul Daniels seven years on from his death

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie McGee is “embracing every minute of life” following the death of her husband Paul Daniels.
The 64-year-old TV star was famously married to the legendary magician – who passed away less than a month after being diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 77 in 2016 – and explained that whilst life after loss is “never the same”, has learned to “accept” things and now tries to take every day as it comes.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’, she said: “Life is never the same again when you lose somebody, there is that hole, you can’t fill that gap but what you can do is accept they’ve gone, that’s the biggest thing. And then just take every day as it comes. I’m so lucky, I have fantastic family, and wonderful friends.
“Everywhere I go, people are lovely to me. I haven’t been on here for a little whille but even the security guard said ‘Oh, Debbie, it’s great to have you back.’ Or the makeup girls, you have to shut us all up! I just embrace every minute of my life now and accept that it’s different to when it was with Paul but it doesn’t mean it can’t be as good. I’m just lucky that I had this amazing life and I’ve still got an amazing life. Every day is different.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant – who is set to explore Irish culture as part of an upcoming episode of BBC Two series ‘B and B By the Sea’ – also revealed that while she may not be completely “ready” to find love again, she will is open to the idea of it happening but will not go searching for it.
She said: “I never said I’m ready for love but if it happens, it happens. If you go looking for it you look desperate and you never find it. All the people I know who say ‘Oh, if only I could meet somebody’ – men or women – don’t seem to find it or find the right person.”

ITV axes John Barrowman’s All Star Musicals

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘All Star Musicals’ will not return to ITV.
The theatrical competition – which was hosted by John Barrowman and featured a judging panel made up of industry legends Elaine Paige, Samantha Barks, and Trevor Dion-Nicholas – has aired as a series of one-off specials around Christmas and Easter since 2017 and seen the likes of ‘Coronation Street’ star Lucy Fallon and TV judge Rob Rinder crowned champion of the show after belting out classic musical numbers but ITV has now confirmed that there are no plans for further specials at present.
A spokesperson told The Sun newspaper’s TVBIz Column: “There are no current plans for new ‘All Star Musicals’ specials at present but we wouldn’t rule out further shows in the future.”
John was a regular face on TV in the late 2000s when he helped Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber find an actress to play Maria in ‘The Sound of Music’ on BBC reality search ‘How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?’ before judging on its follow-ups ‘Any Dream Will Do’ and ‘I’d Do Anything’ and also had a starring role as Captain Jack Harkness on ‘Doctor Who’.
Now, a TV insider has described the cancellation of ‘All Star Musicals’ as a “blow” for since John, especially since he left his long-running role as a judge on ‘Dancing On Ice’ in 2021.
The insider said: “This will obviously be a blow for John, particularly as it was a job he relished keeping after he left ‘Dancing On Ice’. Barring any announcement of a secret, new TV venture, this represents his last role on a British TV show, which is a far cry from the days when he was on a variety of shows on various channels.”

Chloe Zhao directing Hamnet adaptation

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Zhao is to direct ‘Hamnet’.
The Oscar-winning director will helm an adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s novel and is adapting the script alongside the author.
The best-selling historical fictional novel imagines the story of Agnes – the wife of the world’s most famous writer, William Shakespeare – as she struggles to come to terms with the loss of her only son Hamnet.
The story charts the emotional, familial and artistic consequences of the loss and brings to life a human and heart-stopping tale as the backdrop to the creation of Shakespeare’s most famous play, ‘Hamlet’.
It is not known whether ‘Hamnet’ will be Chloe’s next project as she is developing a number of films following the success of ‘Nomadland’, which dominated the Academy Awards in 2021.
Her most recent movie was the Marvel blockbuster ‘Eternals’ but she opted to take a break afterwards as she looked for her next picture.
‘Eternals’ was met with a mixed response by critics but Chloe accepts that the project was never going to impress everybody.
The 41-year-old filmmaker told The Hollywood Reporter: “When you’re in Marvel and when you’re dealing with an audience that big, I truly treasure and respect that each of us is so unique. It’s exciting that we’re all so different, and we’re all changing and growing every day.
“But with a global audience, it’s almost impossible to make everybody perfectly happy, and to do that is to say that everyone is the same.”
Chloe added: “So I think there’s inevitably going to be that (difference of opinion), and you just have to stay true to the kind of film you want to make and who you are and the people you’re collaborating with.
“That’s all you can do, really, and have a good time. Everything else is out of your control.”

Shrek 5 is in development

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Shrek 5’ is in the works.
Illumination founder Chris Meledandri is working alongside DreamWorks to revive the hit animated franchise – 13 years since the release of the last film ‘Shrek Forever After’.
Meledandri has revealed that the original cast, which includes Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy, are all “anticipated” to return for the new movie.
The film producer told Variety: “We anticipate the cast coming back. Talks are starting now, and every indication that we’ve gotten is there’s tremendous enthusiasm on behalf of the actors to return.”
Meledandri has worked on ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ and explained that a similar creative process will be carried out for the return of ‘Shrek’.
The 63-year-old producer said: “It’s not that dissimilar to the process that we went through with ‘Mario’, where you look at what the core elements are that audiences have loved, and you do your very best to honour those core elements.
“And then you’re hard at work to build story elements and new characters that take you to brand new places. The original cast is a huge part of that.”
The ‘Puss in Boots’ movies have proved to be successful spin-offs to the ‘Shrek’ series and Meledandri supports Eddie Murphy’s stance on Donkey getting a standalone movie.
He said: “It’s evidence of his strong enthusiasm for a role that he so brilliantly inhabited and really created alongside the artists at DreamWorks. I found that comment to be very exciting.”
Murphy revealed earlier this year that he would jump at the chance to return to the franchise.
He told ETalk: “I’d absolutely be open if they ever came with another ‘Shrek’, I’d do it in two seconds. I love Donkey.
“You know, they did ‘Puss in Boots’ movies. I was like, ‘They should have done a Donkey movie.’ Donkey is funnier than Puss in Boots. I mean, I love Puss in Boots, but he ain’t as funny as the Donkey.”

‘I wish she was here to see it!’ Dame Deborah James’ Bowelbade fund reaches £11.3m

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Deborah James’s Bowlebabe fund has reached £11.3 million,
The former headteacher-turned-cancer campaigner – who was known as Bowelbabe – lost her bowel cancer battle in June last year aged 40 but set up the campaign just one month before her death and now her mum Heather has thanked the hundreds of thousands of people who donated as she vowed to keep going with the fundraising.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she told stand-in host Ranvir Singh: “She’d set a target of £250,000 and I think within a day it had hit £1 million and she was just overwhelmed, as we all were. And, I just wish she was here to see that it was £ 11.3 million, but we’re not going to stop there, we’re gonna make it even bigger! Besides the money, that’s amazing, I just want to thank every supporter. There was over 333,000 individual supporters to raise that and to me, that is overwhelming, the amount of people she touched. And it’s a big thank you to them as well.”
After being diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2016, Deborah – who is survived by her husband Sebastien Bowen and their teenage children Hugo and Elise – began documenting her journey through a newspaper column and as a co-host of BBC podcast ‘You, Me and the Big C’ alongside fellow cancer patients Lauren Mahon and Rachael Bland, the latter of whom passed away in 2018.
More projects for the Bowelbabe campaign are set to be announced later this year but so far the family has decided to give some money to a project led by Centre for Evolution and Cancer at the Institute of Cancer Research, London that will examine the beginnings of a new precision treatment as well as one that will look at targeting microbes that might cause cancer.
Sebastien said: “I’m immensely proud and humbled to continue the work that Deborah started.
“As a family, we’ve been overwhelmed by all the support the fund has received, and to raise £11.3 million is just incredible. We’ve taken some time to select the first round of funded projects, and are pleased to announce them today. There is some fantastic, cutting-edge bowel cancer research and brilliant awareness activity taking place, and we know that Deborah would be behind this every step of the way.”

The 35-year-old TV star – who was diagnosed with the developmental disability that affects social interaction – has twins Penelope and Leo, nine, and daughter Felicity, seven, all of whom also have autism, with estranged husband Paddy McGuinness and has now teamed up with seaside resort Butlins to launch a £2.5million playground for “all children” to play together.
She said: “It’s fantastic to be involved in the launch of Butlin’s SKYPARK. I know first-hand just how important play is for all children, but to have an environment where kids of all abilities can play together is really special.”
National Autistic Society ambassador Christine went on to add that the SKYPARK – which is equipped with a wheelchair-accessible trampoline and roundabout, sit-up swings for support and sociability, and wheelchair-friendly walkways and ramps, and also has climbing towers reaching a height of 14 metres – will allow everyone to “facilitate a better understanding” of autism all round, after the results of a survey showed that 70% of 1400 parents would be “open to learning more” about the disorder.
She said: “Children with additional needs such as autism can often lack confidence and need that extra support when it comes to communication. It’s really encouraging to hear that nearly 70% of UK parents are open to learning more about the additional needs some children have.
“By allowing kids to play and learn from each other, we’re helping to facilitate a better understanding for everyone.
