Mia Goth joining cast of Blade

OHMYGOSSIP — Mia Goth is to star in the ‘Blade’ reboot.
The ‘Pearl’ actress has reportedly signed up to star in the Marvel Studios’ movie opposite the previously-announced Mahershala Ali in the lead role, sources told Deadline.
However, with plot details firmly under wraps, there are no indications as to the character the 29-year-old star will be playing in the movie.
The news comes after Yann Demange was confirmed in November to be directing the film after original helmer Bassam Tariq dropped out and he will be working from a script by Michael Starrbury.
Bassam dropped out as director due to changes in the “production schedule” but will remain involved as an executive producer.
A Marvel statement read: “Due to continued shifts in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer moving forward as director of ‘Blade’ but will remain an executive producer on the film.
“We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done getting ‘Blade’ to where it is.”
‘Blade’ is slated for release in September 2024 and is set to go into production in Atlanta later this year.
While plot details haven’t been shared, sources say the plan is for the flick to be dark and gritty in tone and have similarities to the trilogy that saw Wesley Snipes play the human-vampire hybrid character between 1998 and 2004.
Mahershala has been praised by his predecessor Wesley – who tweeted the former ‘House of Cards’ star “will do great” in the role – and explained how he was thrilled to hear the kind words.
He told ‘The Breakfast Club’: “Man, you know, [I’m] humbled and so encouraged by that.
“Because he didn’t have to say that. Wasn’t nobody really asking him like that.
“So for him to come out and say that, somebody I look up to so much, I sincerely appreciated that. So thank you, brother.”

Kristen Stewart to star alongside ex-partner Michael Angarano in his new comedy

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Stewart has joined the cast of her ex-partner Michael Angarano’s road-trip comedy ‘Sacramento’.
The ‘Spencer’ actress will star alongside the ‘This Is Us’ star, who is helming the flick, Michael Cera, and Angarano’s fiancée and mother of his young son Leon Frederick, Maya Erskine, 35.
The motion picture “follows Rickey (Angarano), an energetic and free-spirited young man, and Glenn (Cera), his long-time friend who’s settled into domestic life. On an impromptu road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento, their past comes into focus and questions their future.”
Stewart will portray Glenn’s wife, Rosie, and ‘Plus One’ star Erskine has been cast as Rickey’s wife, Tallie.
AJ Mendez, Iman Karam, and Rosalind Chao are also among the cast.
The former pair will “play best friends and ex-professional fighters who help teach Rickey and Glenn about their own relationship.”
Bee-Hive Production’s Stephen Braun, The Wonder Company’s Eric B. Fleischman and Chris Abernathy, Sam Grey, and Angarano and his co-writer Chris Smith are listed as producers.
Angarano told Deadline: “We feel grateful and very excited to make a movie like Sacramento. Chris Smith and I started writing this film years ago, after a pilot of ours didn’t get picked up. We’re honoured to be working with this wildly talented cast and crew led by Stephen at Bee-Hive who is not only a great partner, but a true collaborator. It’s already been quite a journey but we’re finally ready to go make a movie.”
Filming is due to begin shortly.
Angarano, 35, and Stewart were together from 2005 until early 2009.
He and Erskine confirmed they were dating in 2019, and announced they were engaged on November 2, 2020, before welcoming their baby boy into the world in 2021.
Meanwhile, Stewart, 33, is set to star in the thriller ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ and ‘Sontag’, the latter of which is expected to begin filming in California, New York, Paris and Sarajevo towards the end of the year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie McGee is to star in her own one-woman show in which she will talk about her career and life with magician Paul Daniels.
The 64-year-old star and Paul – who died in March 2016 at the age of 77 from a brain tumour – were regulars on the BBC and the top of the showbiz circuit for decades after getting together in 1979, with ‘The Paul Daniels Magic Show’ attracting up to 15 million viewers.
Now, Debbie is going to hit the stage with an array of stories about what life was like as one half of the most successful TV double acts of all time.
In an appearance on YouTube channel Wonderbirds, she revealed: “I haven’t stopped working since Paul died, so I can afford to be a bit more choosy, so I’m going to have a bit more free time. I’ve written show that I want to develop a bit more, it’s my own show and I’ll be telling stories and things like that. It will have clips and things. I have written it and I’ve tried it out and it all worked. You know what it’s like when you put it on paper, when you get up and do it you feel different things so I need some time. When I wrote it, it was in the pandemic and I had all the time in the world!”
Debbie – who married Paul in April 1988 – hopes that her show can play in theatres and on cruise ships so she can get a free holiday out of her idea too.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant added: “I’d like to do a few cruises, so I’m going to see if I can get my talk on a few cruise ships!”

Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic return for Deadpool 3

OHMYGOSSIP — Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic are returning for ‘Deadpool 3’.
The pair are set to reprise their roles as Vanessa Carlysle and Colossus respectively in the upcoming superhero blockbuster.
The duo join Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen in the movie, which is slated for release in 2024.
Reynolds – who is reprising his role as the titular hero – recently confirmed that Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams will return as Dopinder and Blind Al after appearing in the first two films.
Shawn Levy is directing the flick while Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have penned the script along with Zeb Wells.
Morena revealed last year that she hoped to be returning as Vanessa – the fiancée of Wade Wilson/Deadpool – in the new movie.
Speaking at DragonCon Atlanta, the 43-year-old star said: “You know, from your lips to God’s ears, I have no idea. They’re writing the script right now. I’m usually the last to find anything.
“I’m not even… I wish I had information I could give you but I really don’t. But it’d be great.”
The Brazilian actress revealed that her character was meant to die in ‘Deadpool 2’ before the story was altered and she considered it to be a “good sign” for Vanessa’s future in the franchise.
Morena said: “I think when we shot this second film, I would just die. And then after they screened it a few times they actually changed it to include this timeline thing so I think that’s a good sign that the fans want to see me again. Whether or not it happens, it’s not up to me.”

Billy Porter to play James Baldwin in biopic

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Porter is to star as James Baldwin in a new biopic.
The ‘Pose’ actor will portray the legendary novelist, essayist and activist in the feature for Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group Motion Pictures.
Billy will co-write the script for the movie – which is based on David Leeming’s 1994 book ‘James Baldwin: A Biography’ – together with Dan McCabe.
The project is a long-held creative and personal ambition for Porter as the Broadway veteran has expressed admiration for the late civil rights leader and essayist and even quoted Baldwin in his 2019 Emmy Awards acceptance speech after landing the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series gong.
The 53-year-old star said in a statement: “As a Black queer man on this planet with relative consciousness, I find myself, like James Baldwin said, ‘in a rage all the time’.
“I am because James was. I stand on James Baldwin’s shoulders, and I intend to expand his legacy for generations to come.”
Baldwin was born in 1924 in Harlem and gained widespread acclaim for his numerous works regarding his experience as a gay black man in the segregated United States.
His significant works include ‘Go Tell It on the Mountain’, ‘Notes of a Native Son’ and ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ – which was adapted for the big screen in 2018 by Barry Jenkins.
Allen said: “Billy Porter and Dan McCabe’s talent and commitment to amplifying James Baldwin’s legacy and contributions are invaluable and unmatched for this unique and epic story.”
Allen is to co-produce the Baldwin biopic together with Porter’s Incognegro Productions.
A director and more casting details about the film are yet to be announced.

Simon Cowell says Bruno Tonioli is having more fun on Britain’s Got Talent than Strictly Come Dancing

OHMYGOSSIP — Simon Cowell thinks Bruno Tonioli is having more fun on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ that he did as a judge on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Show supremo Simon, 63, has joked that Bruno, 67, wished he’d had a “big red buzzer” to use when he spent 18 years on the BBC One ballroom competition instead of his “boring” scoring panel, as the chorographer makes his debut on the ITV1 talent contest alongside Simon, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
The former ‘X Factor’ star said: “When you’re doing ‘Strictly’, all you’ve got is a bat or something, right? That’s boring.
“This is a punctuation mark, which is the red buzzer. He was like a kid having these things to press while he was judging.”
“There’s a few celebrities he would have liked to have buzzed off, I bet.”
Bruno was replaced by Anton Du Beke on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ after he was unable to film one series to his commitments to the US version of the programme ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and his travel schedule and that change was made permanent, giving Bruno the opportunity to replace David Walliams as a judge on ‘BGT’.
The flamboyant dance expert recently revealed he made a major faux pas by prematurely pressing the prestigious Golden Buzzer on his first day of audition filming.
Explaining how his mistake happened, he told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I told Simon, I never watched the show before. But I never watch anything I’m in, I never even watched ‘Strictly’ or ‘Dancing With The Stars’. I want to feel free to give it my own personal spin, not copy what someone before me has done, if that makes sense.”
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who are the hosts of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, gave their seal of approval to Bruno, insisting he is more than a worthy replacement for David.
Ant said: “Bruno knows a lot about music and gives very good notes to acts when they come on. We’ve only ever seen him judge dance before, so he has a wider range than people might think.”
Dec added: “He’s been around the entertainment industry for a long time, so he’s not short on experience. He’s very knowledgeable about talent and obviously very passionate as well. There was a lot of standing up and shouts of ‘Daaaahhhling!”

Paul Gascoigne hates reality stars who trade off their famous parents’ names

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Gascoigne dislikes reality stars who trade off their famous parents’ names – even though his children have done the same.
The 55-year-old England footballing legend – affectionately known as ‘Gazza’ – will be seen on new Channel 4 programme ‘Scared of the Dark’ star, in which he and a host of other celebs have to live, eat and sleep in complete darkness, whilst also being tested with challenges.
Gazza admits he isn’t a big watched of reality shows and he doesn’t approve nepo babies cashing in on their famous surnames, even though his own brood have done so.
Stepdaughter Bianca Gascoigne, 36, was one of the original ‘Love Island’ stars and has also appeared on ‘Celebrity Coach Trip’ and ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, whilst his son Regan, 27, competed on the latest series of ‘Dancing on Ice’.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column, he said: “I see all the other reality shows. Some of them I don’t like watching because there’s some people that are on there are not even famous… they’re on there because of mum and dad.
Gazza – who scored 10 goals in his 57 games for England and had a distinguished club career at teams such as Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio, Rangers and Newcastle United – decided to go on the new series because he is “competitive person” and wanted the opportunity to test himself.
He said: “I want to give it the full whack and go all the way. I’m a competitive person.”
Danny Dyer is the host of ‘Scared of the Dark’ which begins this Sunday (16.04.23) and also features former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ winner Scarlett Moffatt, ex ‘Love Island’ star Chloe Burrows and The Wanted’s Max George among others.
Former ‘EastEnders’ actor Danny, 45, insists Gazza is going to surprise a lot of viewers with his “journey” on the programme.
Danny said: “He didn’t know I was the host. He was like, ‘Ah, f****** hell, I don’t know if I want to do it now.’ You think he’s not going to last a half hour, but let me tell you something now, he’s got an amazing journey in there.”
During the show, Gary admits he is lucky to be alive.
He says: “People keep saying, ‘You’ve got more lives than a cat.’
“That’s because I have. I’ve had near-death experiences, I’ve had 36 operations, I’ve died a couple of times, and they’ve put me in a coma for 18 days. So I’ve come through all that, so hopefully, this’ll be a little bit easier.”

James Bond casting director Debbie McWilliams claims younger actors lack ‘mental capacity’ to play 007

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bond casting director Debbie McWilliams says that younger actors lack the “mental capacity” to play 007.
McWilliams revealed that younger stars had auditioned to play the legendary spy in the 2006 film ‘Casino Royale’ but the part eventually went to Daniel Craig, who was 38 at the time, as Bond bosses felt he could handle the “responsibility” of playing the iconic role.
The casting director, who has worked on the franchise since 1981, told RadioTimes.com: “When we started, it was a slightly different feel.
“We did look at a lot of younger actors, and I just don’t think they had the gravitas. They didn’t have the experience, they didn’t have the mental capacity to take it on, because it’s not just the part they’re taking on, it’s a massive responsibility.”
Craig portrayed Bond in five films across 15 years and McWilliams explained how his rising talent was a factor in the decision to cast him as 007.
She explained: “Timothy Dalton was known, but he was known as a Shakespearean actor, really. Pierce (Brosnan) was known, but that was basically from television. Roger Moore was known from television. Sean Connery wasn’t (known) – nobody had ever heard of him.
“A certain audience had heard of Daniel Craig, but much more the kind of independent cinema audience. He hadn’t done any huge commercial film at all, really – ‘Layer Cake’ I suppose was the most popular, should we say, of the things he had done prior to Bond, because he wasn’t a hugely well-known actor.”
Bond producer Michael G. Wilson revealed last year that the next 007 will be a “veteran” in the spy world as film chiefs decide who will replace Craig.
Wilson told Deadline: “We’ve tried looking at younger people in the past. But trying to visualise it doesn’t work. Remember, Bond’s already a veteran. He’s had some experience. He’s a person who has been through the wars, so to speak. He’s probably been in the SAS or something.
“He isn’t some kid out of high school that you can bring in and start off. That’s why it works for a 30-something.”

Jon M. Chu to direct Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Jon M. Chu is to direct a film version of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’.
The 43-year-old filmmaker is to helm a new take on Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famed musical based on the Bible tale of Joseph – who is driven from home by his 11 jealous brothers after being favoured by his father Jacob.
Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group has been aiming to develop the show into a spectacular Hollywood film and will now team up with Chu for the Amazon Studios flick.
Rice and Lloyd Webber came up with the idea for ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ in 1968 and the show has grown into a full-blown musical production that is regularly performed on London’s West End and New York City’s Broadway.
A direct-to-video film version of ‘Joseph’ was released in 1999 and featured Donny Osmond in the lead role. Dame Joan Collins and the late Richard Attenborough also starred.
The director will be reunited with his producing partner Scott Sanders on the movie and has experience in the musical genre after working on ‘In The Heights’.
Chu is currently working in the UK on the two-part movie adaptation of ‘Wicked’ that features Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande in the lead roles.
He previously insisted that everybody had “earned” their place in the films – with the first part released in cinemas in November 2024.
Chu told Entertainment Tonight: “When you see the new cast, it’s pretty awesome. Nobody was offered this role off the top. Everybody had to come and audition.
“We saw everybody in town who could sing. These are tough songs too. Everyone had to earn their position.
“When I say that they came in and blew us away, they earned that spot in every way. It was pretty amazing. It will bring you to tears. Every word means something different when it’s coming from their mouth.”

Maternal creator says it ‘hurts’ that series was cancelled

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Maternal’ creator Jacqui Honess-Martin admits it really “hurts” that the show was cancelled by ITV.
The medical drama – which stars Parminder Nagra, Lara Pulver and Lisa McGrillis among others – aired in January 2023 but was not renewed for a second series after disappointing ratings.
Jacqui has now taken to Twitter to share her disappointment about the axe falling, admitting she had much more planned for the characters going forward.
She tweeted: “We had a lot more to say. The show needed a high number of viewers for @ITV to sell advertising to break even. Maternal didn’t get that number.
“It hurts that it ends here but I am incredibly proud of the show, grateful and bit amazed that we got to do it all.”
Lisa – who portrayed acute medicine physician Helen Cavendish – remarked they were “all devastated” while her co-stars Parminda and Lara – who played Dr Maryam Afridi and surgeon Catherine MacDiarmid – retweeted support from sad fans.
Lisa said: “We are all devastated, it feels like such a waste of wonderful and important stories.”
Edith Bowman joined in the chorus of let-down fans, tagging ITV on her Twitter account and calling their decision to axe the show “poor form”.
Commenting on the cancellation, an ITV source said: “It was a very difficult decision as we really wanted to commission another series of ‘Maternal’, but unfortunately the audience didn’t come to the drama in the numbers that we’d hoped for. Everyone who watched the series really loved it, and for that reason we’re really disappointed we can’t make another series happen.”

Romesh Ranganathan was a tipsy teacher on school trip

OHMYGOSSIP — Romesh Ranganathan had a paranoia attack when he was chaperoning on a school trip to Rome after he got “tipsy” over dinner.
The 45-year-old comedian worked as a mathematics teacher at Hazelwick School in Crawley, West Sussex – the comprehensive where he studied – before making it as a stand-up and television star.
Romesh has recalled one overseas excursion to the Italian capital with his sixth form students during which he gulped down too many glasses of wine over a pizza and suddenly panicked that he was drunk and in charge of a group of teenagers abroad.
During an appearance on Giovanna Fletcher’s Disney podcast ‘Journey to the Magic’, he said: “I remember one night, we were in Rome at a pizza place and we are having a nice time and it was towards the end of the trip everyone’s getting a bit relaxed… and I became conscious that I drank too much wine.
“I wasn’t battered but I was tipsy but then I remember that I’m staff on a school trip and we were walking around Rome and kids were talking to me and you know when you overcompensate.”
Romesh found himself becoming an exaggerated persona of his teaching manner in an attempt to hide his slight drunkenness from his pupils.
He added: “I just start being needlessly wordy and say like, ‘Well that is a very interesting question, yes! Maybe we should look and try and find the answer together! Erm Mr Hopkins! Mr Hopkins! Stephen has a very interesting inquiry vis-a the architecture of this particular part of Rome!’
“It was just really bad, so paranoid.”
Giovanna, 38, then asked: “How did it feel when you woke up the next day?”
Romesh replied: “The fear… The fear was unreal.”
‘The Weakest Link’ host also spilled how his wife Leesa was driven to consider divorce during an “incredible” holiday in Disneyland Paris with their sons, Alex, Charlie, and Theo because of his indecision when designing his own lightsaber as a committed ‘Star Wars’ “geek”.
Romesh said: “The biggest thing for me to be honest with you, the thing that I will take away with me from that trip … Like we had an incredible time, all the rides were great, wandering around and also for a ‘Star Wars’ geek, there’s this bit that you can go into and design and put together your own lightsaber.
“But I nearly got divorced that day. Because me and the kids… we spent so long trying to figure out what we want. Just like… what colour should we go for? What type of handle should we go for? Oh I like of like the weight of this one I feel like if we got into… I felt like my wife was sort of looking at me going, ‘You’ve got about 20 minutes left of me still being attracted to you!'”
A new episode from the six-part Walt Disney Travel Company’s ‘Journey to the Magic’ podcast is released every Wednesday and are available wherever you listen to your podcasts as well as to watch on the Disney UK YouTube channel.

Ross Noble declared war on neighbour with his private tank

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Have I Got News For You’ star Ross Noble once pointed a tank at his neighbour’s house in a dispute over a garden fence.
The 46-year-old comedian, at one time, owned an ex-British Army tank and he would drive it for fun on his land at his Kent home, as well as show it off at military shows.
When Ross’ new neighbour decided to question whether he was encroaching on his land with his fence, the stand-up comic decided to declare war and point the tank’s gun turret at the man’s house much to his wife’s embarrassment.
Speaking on the ‘Fuelling Around’ podcast, he said: “I bought an ex-British army tank, just because I was living in Kent at the time and they’ve got that War and Peace Show down there, and people with military vehicles are asked to turn up.
“I had an argument with the bloke who bought the house next door. He was a property developer and he was a bit of a d***, and he was arguing over where the fence line was and all that stuff. So, I just pointed the tank at his house. My wife just went, ‘Have you pointed the tank at his house?’ I went, ‘Do you think that comes across as a bit passive aggressive?’ She went, ‘It’s not passive aggressive, it’s the most aggressive thing you can do! You’ve literally declared war on the guy.’”
Ross – who is a keen biker and off-road racer – eventually came to accept that a tank was perhaps an extreme vehicle to own when his daughter went to nursery and told her teachers that her grandmother drove the military vehicle when she came to stay with them.
The funnyman – who now lives in Australia in the Mornington Peninsula south of Melbourne – recalled: “Everyone who came round, I’d say, ‘Do you want a ride on the tank?’ ‘Cause they’re dead easy to drive. My mum was down and I gave her a ride in the tank and I said, ‘No, have a go at driving it.’ And she was like, ‘Alight, OK.’ She gets in, and she’s only a little woman and she could barely see out of the hatch and she’s driving it around. Then my eldest daughter, she just started at play school and they’d gone in and they went, ‘Tell us about life at home, who is in your family?’ And she goes, ‘My grandma comes down and sees us and she was down here last weekend and she drives a tank.’ ‘Oh, she’s got some imagination, hasn’t she.’”

Sir Tony Robinson teases plans for Blackadder’s 40th anniversary

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Tony Robison has teased that a 40th-anniversary celebration of ‘Blackadder’ could be on the way.
The 76-year-old actor is best known for playing Baldrick in the classic 1980s sitcom – which covers different periods of history over the course of four series – and teased that plans for a 40th-anniversary celebration are on the way, just months after he revived his character as part of a one-off special for Comic Relief.
Speaking on ITVs ‘Lorraine’, he told stand-in host Christine Lampard: “All I’m gonna say is…everybody likes to celebrate a 40th anniversary, so there must be some way fresh way we can celebrate our 40th birthday, wouldn’t you think?”
Meanwhile, Tony went on to recall a time when Prince William told him he would take part in the show and admitted he will never get bored of hearing about the programme because it “transformed his life” and made him a star in his late 30s.
“This is absolutely true. You know how showbiz people make up stories? This is really true. When I was being knighted by Prince William, almost 10 years ago, I was down on my knees, he brings the old sword down and he said ‘I am such a fan of ‘Blackadder’ and I said to him ‘Would you be on it?’ He said ‘Yeah, if you asked me.’ So in other words, I was casting whilst I was knighting!”
“It’s lovely really, it never palls because it just transformed my life. I was 38 by the time I did it but I was a child actor so I had been about a quarter of century in the business when suddenly my whole life was transformed by the generosity of Rowan[Atksinson] and the producer John Lloyd, who let me have all those little extra shots and lines.”

‘We’ve waited long enough!’ Corrie star Faye Brookes gets engaged after three months of dating

OHMYGOSSIP — Faye Brookes “can’t believe” she is getting married.
The 35-year-old actress is perhaps best known for her role as Kate Connor on ‘Coronation Street’ but met her partner Iwan Lewis when he played her love interest in a touring production of ‘Legally Blonde the Musical’ in 2011 and after he recently popped the question, has shared how he rightly predicted on the first day of rehearsals that they would get together at some point.
She told OK! Magazine: “It’s making my heart pound now because I still can’t believe we’re getting married. It’s still sinking in for me. He took my breath away and I did get emotional.
“I never thought I would get my happy ending and I think we’ve waited this long to get our happy ending and it turned out to be the guy who was there the whole time. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, I can say that from the bottom of my heart. It’s a gut thing too. I’m not questioning anything. On day one of rehearsals of ‘Legally Blonde’, we’d known each other for a few years by now, he came up to me and went, ‘By the end of this tour we’re going to be together.’ I was like, ‘Mate, no we’re not!”
The former ‘Dancing On Ice’ contestant – who outside of TV acting has carved out a successful career in musical theatre with leading roles in ‘Shrek’ and ‘Chicago’ – was in a relationship with ‘Pop Idol’ star Gareth Gates from 2012 until 2018 but had only been with Iwan for three months when he popped the question on New Year’s Eve last year and insisted that they have waited “long enough” to commit to each other.
She added: “We have waited long enough! I could have said this phrase in the past, ‘When you know, you know.’ But I’ve never truly understood what that really means until now. There’s no doubt, no worries, no cold feet.”

Danny Dyer signed up to front Scared Of The Dark ‘as soon as’ he heard Paul Gascoigne was involved

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer signed up to present new show ‘Scared Of The Dark’ “as soon as” he heard Paul Gascoigne was taking part.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor liked the idea of the Channel 4 programme, which will see eight celebrities stuck in a pitch-black bunker – a purpose built living space designed to block out all light – for eight days, with their terrifying experience captured by 50 infrared cameras, but he wanted “interesting” celebrities to be involved.
He told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “They said, ‘Basically we’re going to lock eight celebrities in the pitch black for eight days,’ and I was like, ‘f****** sign me up, it sounds amazing!’.
“It depended on the celebrities for me as well, I wanted it to be interesting people.
“Paul Gascoigne, as soon as I heard his name I signed up.”
Danny recently admitted he could “taste” Paul’s “rotten” parps while filming the show – but the former England star has hit back at the ‘Football Factory’ actor, calling him a “f****** liar”.
In a bizarre video on Twitter, Gazza raps: “My name is Gazza, but now it’s called Gassa, Danny Danny Dyer, you’re a f****** liar.
“Drop it like a fart. Drop it like a fart. Drop it like a fart, fart, fart fart.
“Danny Danny Dyer, you’re a f****** liar.”
Danny admitted the bunker stank, partly thanks to Paul’s wind.
He recently explained to the publication: “He’s got a rotten a***, Paul.
“They all began to get immune to it, but I could f****** taste it.
“It did smell in there, I’m not going to lie. Because it’s an enclosed space … you know what I mean?”
Danny also told how Paul was a prankster on the show, and once put a fishy sandwich inside a bed of one of his co-star’s.
He explained: “I think he put a sandwich in someone’s bed – a nice little sandwich, they’re rolling around at night with a f****** salmon or whatever the f*** it was.”

Jim Moir ‘gives up’ Vic Reeves alter-ego and ‘never really speaks’ to Bob Mortimer anymore

OHMYGOSSIP — Jim Moir has “given up” his Vic Reeves alter-ego and “never really speaks” to comedy sidekick Bob Mortimer anymore.
The 64-year-old comedian is best known for his Vic and Bob double act with the 63-year-old star, which was also known as Reeves and Mortimer, but the pair don’t talk on the phone and only see each other “now and then”.
Speaking to the Radio Times magazine, Jim said: “We’ve had offers from everywhere. But I’m not doing any more. I’ve given up. I’ve done that.
“We never really speak much. Bob and I have never been ones for talking on the phone.
“We’ll see him now and then and have a chat about things. It’s not a conscious thing, we haven’t discussed it.”
Jim admits viewers have often assumed his and Bob’s lives were “entwined” because they were comedy partners – appearing in the likes of ‘Shooting Stars’ – and while they used to go to the pub together during their younger years, they don’t anymore.
He added: “People have always thought that with me and Bob. Do you go out in the evening? We always said no, we don’t.
“We see each other in the daytime, we film.
We used to, when we were in our 20s, go out to the boozer, but we don’t really do that anymore.”
Last June, Jim admitted he was planning to retire Vic after “swansong” movie ‘The Glove’, which is yet to be released.
He told BBC Radio Cornwall at the time: “Vic Reeves was a character that I invented when I was at art school actually, I put him on stage.
“And I haven’t done him for a while. Bob [Mortimer] and me wrote a film, about 12 years ago, which we keep threatening to do and we’ve been asked to do, so we might do that next year.
“And that will be probably the final appearance of Vic Reeves.”
