Bargain Hunt celebrating King Charles III’s Coronation

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Bargain Hunt’ is celebrating King Charles III’s Coronation with a special regal episode.
Christina Trevanion called it an “absolute honour” to host an edition of the BBC One daytime antiques programme marking the 74-year-old monarch being crowned.
The 41-year-old television presenter said: “It is an absolute honour to have been asked to present this special episode of ‘Bargain Hunt’ to mark the Coronation of King Charles III. I’m lucky to have been present at previous royal occasions, including the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and Platinum Jubilee, as well as VE Day and VJ Day.”
The episode will see both teams be handed £300 to scour Newark Antiques Fair in Nottinghamshire – along with regal assistance from regular experts Roo Irvine and Raj Bisram – for royal trinkets to be added to the auction catalogue at Richard Winterton Auctioneers in the city of Lichfield.
Christina will also show off some beauties from Queen Elizabeth’s reign – which is the longest on record as it lasted for more than 70 years until her death last September aged 96 – like a scarcely found Queen Elizabeth II stool and ticket to her own coronation in 1953.
The installment of the long-running series comes a day before 2,000 people – including US First Lady Jill Biden, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ presenting duo Ant and Dec and singing superstar Lionel Richie – will take their seats in London’s Westminster Abbey to see King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla formally ascend the throne.
‘Bargain Hunt Coronation Special’ is on Friday (05.05.23) on BBC One.

Michelle Keegan was ‘scared’ going to Australia alone for Ten Pound Poms

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Keegan found it was “quite scary” going to Australia alone to film ‘Ten Pound Poms’.
The ex ‘Coronation Street’ star “absolutely loved” working Down Under to make the BBC drama about the immigration boom to the country in the post-World War II period, but she was initially apprehensive about heading to Australia without her television personality husband, Mark Wright, 36.
The 35-year-old actress – who plays nurse Kate Thorne in the show – said: “I absolutely loved filming in Australia. I mean, when I first got there the weather wasn’t great, I’m not going to lie, but as a country I really enjoyed it. In fact, in a way my journey to Australia has parallels with Kate’s. It was my first time too and I didn’t know what to expect, I came on my own which was quite scary, but it’s been such an incredible experience.”
Michelle admitted it was “really challenging” to play her character Kate’s “turmoil” at times.
She said: “My character Kate is a nurse who has left the UK to go to Australia for a very different reason from the rest of the characters.
“She has an emotional connection to the country and we find out as the show progresses what her intentions are and why she has gone there.
“Kate’s storyline is definitely very emotionally led. You see her go through a lot of turmoil in ‘Ten Pound Poms’. It’s been really challenging for me, and I’ve loved every minute.”
The ‘Brassic’ star admitted a period drama has been on her bucket list for a long time.
She added: “Obviously, the series is set in the 50s, so it’s a totally different era and it’s the first time I’ve appeared in a period drama, but it’s something I have always wanted to do.”

Kathleen Kennedy plans to turn Star Wars movies into ‘events’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kathleen Kennedy wants ‘Star Wars’ movies to feel like “events”.
Three new live-action ‘Star Wars’ films were announced at Star Wars Celebration last month but the Lucasfilm president wants the sci-fi franchise to mirror James Bond by spacing out the releases of each movie.
Kennedy told Empire magazine: “I’ve often brought up Bond.
“That’s every three or four years, and there wasn’t this pressure to feel like you had to have a movie every year. I feel that was very important to ‘Star Wars’. We have to eventise this.”
She continued: “It’s much better to tell the truth, that we’re going to make these movies when they’re ready to be made and release them when they’re ready to be released.”
James Mangold, Dave Filoni and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy are directing the three new films and Kennedy has confirmed that the projects will explore “the evolution of the Jedi”.
She said: “What we’re exploring is the evolution of the Jedi. We’re going very far back, we’re looking at the present, and now we’re moving 15 years after ‘The Rise of Skywalker’.
“The First Order has fallen, the Jedi are in chaos – there’s even a question of how many exist anymore – and Rey’s building the New Jedi Order, based on the text that she was given and that Luke imparted on her.”
Kathleen recently confirmed that all three projects were “pretty far along” in terms of development.
The 69-year-old film producer told IGN: “We’re pretty far along. These are things, as you can imagine, certainly looking at what Dave’s been doing with Ahsoka, that’ll be at least six, seven years building to what it is we’re going to be doing in a movie.
“As far as Sharmeen, we’ve been working on that for a couple of years already. And with what Jim’s doing, Jim and I, because we had the benefit of doing ‘Indiana Jones’ together, there was a lot of discussion about what the story is.
“What’s great about Jim, is he’s a writer-director, much like David is, so he can move that along at a pretty fast pace. So everything’s kind of moving along. We may have a really nice situation where we have all of these things ready to go, and we can take our time figuring out when we make them.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas experienced ‘daunting atmosphere’ on Love Again

OHMYGOSSIP — Priyanka Chopra Jonas had to cope with a “daunting atmosphere” on ‘Love Again’.
The 40-year-old star features in the new romantic comedy film alongside Sam Heughan and Celine Dion but admits it was tricky to generate the emotions required as the picture was filmed in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she recalled: “It was nuts at that time. It was tough, but it was a scary time in the world. As actors, we’re the ones that have to take off our masks on set.
“I was terrified, honestly, in the beginning. It was a very scary, daunting atmosphere, and we were doing a romantic comedy – we had to bring lightness and fun to set in this daunting atmosphere.
“We really leaned on each other to create a fun environment on set with each other. We would laugh and crack jokes and tried to find the joy so that we could inspire and infuse ourselves as well. But it wasn’t easy.”
Priyanka stars in the film as Mira Ray, who – struggling to cope with the death of her fiance – sends romantic messages to his old phone number, which has been reassigned to journalist Rob Burns (Heughan).
Rob is drawn to Mira’s beautiful texts and seeks Celine Dion’s assistance to find her in real life when he is tasked with writing a feature about the ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer.
Sam admits that the pandemic was one of the main reasons he accepted the chance to play the male lead in the film.
The ‘Outlander’ star said: “I think we were all ready for it. After the lockdowns and being in isolation, everyone was ready to feel joy again. That’s why this was such a well-timed movie to make.
“I think we all, certainly after the pandemic and everything else that’s going on in the world, needed this kind of movie and this kind of message.”

Janice Dickinson quits I’m A Celeb after accident on way to dunny

OHMYGOSSIP — Janice Dickinson was forced to quit ‘I’m A Celebrity … South Africa’ after falling over on her way to the dunny.
The 68-year-old former model has opened up about the “freak accident” in the middle of the night which forced her off the ITV reality show – which was recorded last year – revealing she tripped over in the dark and landed face-first. She was stretchered off and taken by ambulance to hospital to treat her injuries and she wasn’t allowed to return to camp.
Janice told The Sun newspaper’s TV Mag: “In the middle of one night I woke up because I had to go to the dunny [toilet] … The campfire had gone out and it was as dark as it could be. So I thought: ‘Right, I’ll make it to the dunny from memory.’
“I walked a couple of steps and tripped, flying flat on my face – hair all over my forehead, my nose was bloody and my whole chin was gashed open. Blood was gushing from all these areas, and there was dirt and stones embedded in my face from the fall.”
She was rescued by campmates Fatima Whitbread and Phil Tufnell who got her back to the main camp and called for a medic.
Janice went on: “[The doctor] said: ‘Oh my! We have to take her to the medical hut’ so they could wash away the blood, stones and dirt in case infection set in,.
“They gave me pain relief, put me on a stretcher and four men galloped me out along the road in the middle of the night in the cold air, two feet above the ground.
We reached an ambulance and the paramedics put a compress on my forehead and my chin. It was bad. I was in this tiny hospital in the middle of nowhere and they called my husband [Robert Gerner], who was in South Africa, to bring him to the hospital.”
At the hospital, the doctors cleaned up her cuts and scrapes and gave her more painkillers.
However, Janice was unable to rejoin the rest of her campmates and her time in the show came to an end. The accident and the aftermath will not be shown on TV, but campmates will be told Janice’s fate in Monday night’s (08.05.23) episode.

Priya Kansara lack of representation stopped her pursuing acting career sooner

OHMYGOSSIP — Priya Kansara didn’t pursue a career in acting sooner because of a lack of representation.
The ‘Polite Society’ star – who plays Ria, a young woman dreaming of becoming a stunt performer, in the new heist action comedy – didn’t think she would have the opportunity to appear in movies as she didn’t see herself represented on screen.
She told Collider ‘Ladies Night Pre-Party’: “I didn’t see people that looked like me on screen or in this space. I don’t think I thought it was accessible to me.”
However, she noticed a chance as she got older, which pushed her to chase her dreams.
She added: “When I was studying through university, during those years of my life, I started to see how the industry was starting to open its doors more.
“And also kind of instilling that discipline in me about, ‘No, I love this, and this is what I want to do.’
“And I think it’s important that people step into the industry regardless of the fear surrounding it because that’s the only way we’re gonna push things forward and make those films and create those spaces.”
For ‘Polite Society’ Kansara initially auditioned for a “different character” who was in “a couple of scenes”, but director Nida Manzoor wanted her to read for one of the lead roles.
She revealed how ‘The B****** Son and The Devil Himself’ co-star Nadia Parkes gave her invaluable advice taking on such a big part.
She recalled: “She was just like, ‘You know, the most important thing you could do is look after yourself because you need to show up on set on their schedule and deliver what they need that day, and it doesn’t matter if you are tired.
“‘It doesn’t matter if you don’t feel sad and you need to then cry in the scene. You still need to do that shot that day, right? That needs to happen.
“‘So what you need to figure out is that, is there anything that you can do every day that makes you feel like you’ve had a moment of peace, that makes you feel grounded, that makes you feel taken care of?’
“And she was like, ‘It can be as simple as making sure that every morning you have a cup of tea.’ And I was like, wow.”

Dean Gaffney and Joe Swash vomit during Bushtucker Trial

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘I’m A Celebrity…South Africa’ stars Dean Gaffney and Joe Swash were both reduced to vomiting their way through the latest Bushtucker Trial.
The 45-year-old actor – who is best known for playing Robbie Jackson on ‘EastEnders’ – and Joe drank a variety of blended animal parts as part of the Flipping Disgusting trial.
The soap stars were competing to win treats for their fellow campmates – but they were left vomiting repeatedly as they struggled to digest their drinks, which included mashed-up maggots and blended cow vagina.
Ant McPartlin, the long-time co-host of the show, subsequently described the segment as the “most disgusting piece of television [he’s] ever been involved with”.
Dean first appeared on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ in 2006 and he recently revealed that he’s still frequently reminded of his most difficult Bushtucker Trial.
The actor – who finished in fifth place during the 2006 series – shared: “That live Trial became folklore. Every year it gets wheeled out as one of the best moments, so even if I want to forget it I can’t! People still stop me in the street and chat to me about the Trial.
“And whenever I am having a bad day, I put the Trial on and it makes me feel better. My pain is everyone else’s gain!”
Meanwhile, the celebrities have all been split into two separate prides on the ITV show.
The green pride includes Joe, Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo, Fatima Whitbread, Paul Burrell, Andy Whyment and Janice Dickinson, while the yellow pride includes Dean, Carol Vorderman, Phil Tufnell, Helen Flanagan, Myleene Klass and Jordan Banjo.

Danny Elman thinks Michael Keaton will look ‘practically’ the same in Beetlejuice 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Elfman says Michael Keaton won’t “look that much different” in ‘Beetlejuice 2′.
The iconic composer – who will reunite with longtime collaborator Tim Burton for the highly anticipated sequel – is excited to see Keaton back as the titular ghoul and expects him to look the same as he did in the original 1988 classic.
Speaking to Deadline, he revealed that someone sounded surprised when they recently asked him about the AGE-year-old actor returning to the character.
He explained: “I said, ‘He’s not even going to look that much different. That’s the beauty of the Beetlejuice makeup. He already looked like he was 150 in the first one.’
“It’s perfect, you know? Everybody else has to play the next generation, except for Michael. I mean, he’s still like really fit and really active and really on it.
“And with the Beetlejuice makeup, I can’t even imagine it’s going to look like he’s changed practically at all. So, I can’t wait for that.”
‘Beetlejuice 2’ was recently confirmed by Warner Bros during the studio’s CinemaCon 2023 panel last week.
There have also been rumours that Jenna Ortega could be in the running to star in the upcoming sequel.
The actress stars in Tim Burton’s Netflix series ‘Wednesday’ – which is based around the Addams Family character Wednesday Addams – and back in March, The Hollywood Reporter suggested she could be taking on another project with links to the director.
Burton helmed the 1988 film – about a couple of ghosts who enlist a spirit named Beetlejuice to help them rid their home of its new inhabitants – and the report suggested he will be back to take charge of the sequel which is now expected to begin filming in London either early this month or in June.

Rebekah Vardy explores troubled childhood in new Channel 4 documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebekah Vardy is set to explore her troubled childhood in a new documentary.
The 41-year-old star – who is married to Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy – has previously opened up about the alleged sexual abuse she suffered as a young girl and she will share her experience growing up as a Jehovah’s Witness while also dealing with childhood bullying.
As reported by the Daily Mirror newspaper, new Channel 4 documentary ‘Rebekah Vardy: The Jehovah’s Witnesses and Me’ will see her front the show telling her own story as well as exploring other people’s traumatic experiences.
The broadcaster said: “This film shows a side to one of the UK’s most famous women that has not been told before.”
The programme is set to air on May 16, and comes 10 months after Rebekah lost her Wagatha Christie libel case against Coleen Rooney.
She wasn’t keen on going on television with a project based on the case, while the pitch from Channel 4 has offered an interesting option.
An insider told the publication: “After the court case, she was offered lots of TV things about the Wagatha Christie case and did not want to engage.
“Then Channel 4 got in touch with this project they had been planning for a while, looking for someone to front it.
“She was very keen and it all started from there. It’s a Panorama-style documentary, very serious.”
Meanwhile, it’s said the film will feature some “harrowing” accounts from people she speaks to.
The source added: “When she interviews people, their stories are harrowing and her own story is a hard one as well.
“It is a very different Rebekah from the one people think they know.”
Rebekah previously revealed she sought Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBD) to help come to terms with her abuse and found the sessions very helpful in helping her separate her difficult past from her happy life now.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she said: “After I had my little boy, I had a lot of CBT and it really helped me kind of close that Pandora’s box and distinguish, or to lose the face of, the abuse and it became something else.
“If I think about it it almost becomes a character and that really helps me because it’s separated my life today to what it was before and I still use that as a coping mechanism when I have a bad day.”

EastEnders star Charlie Brooks hints at possible return for Janine Butcher

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Brooks would be open to her ‘EastEnders’ alter ego Janine Butcher making a return – but not full-time.
The 42-year-old actress made an explosive exit in December when Janine was arrested for perverting the course of justice, but Charlie hasn’t ruled out reprising her evil character again.
Janine told The Sun: “She is always fun to play and I’m always interested in what she’s doing and what she’s up to so there’s always a possibility.
“But I couldn’t play her constantly and I don’t think anyone would want me to. I think somebody might actually kill me if Janine was always in their living rooms four times a week.”
Janine was put in prison after Mick Carter [Danny Dyer] drowned saving his ex-wife Linda Carter [Kellie Bright], who has been picking up the pieces trying to carry on running The Queen Vic pub she once shared with her spouse.
However, Janine attempted to sell Mick’s share of the boozer. The following month, Linda learned via her solicitor that Janine had pleaded guilty, and she was just given a sentence of five years, much to the shock of Linda.
Charlie initially starred as Janine on the BBC One soap from 1999 until 2004, then again from 2008 until 2014, and made a comeback to the show in 2021, before her latest departure.
The star had previously revealed she was only originally contracted for a year on the show.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “I was only ever due back to ‘EastEnders’ for a year, but when [exec producer] Chris Clenshaw presented me with his idea for the story, I couldn’t say no to staying a little longer. But as always with Janine, she probably should not outstay her welcome — for everyone’s sake.”
