Dannii Minogue: ‘We’ve waited far too long for a gay dating show!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Dannii Minogue thinks gay people have waited “far too long” to have their own dating show.
The 51-year-old pop star is to front the BBC Three show ‘I Kissed A Boy’ and is “so proud” of the broadcaster for finally bringing the concept to life after so many calls had “fallen on deaf ears” in the past.
She is quoted by The Daily Star on Sunday newspaper as saying: “This show is the first chance for gay dating to be seen on UK TV in the reality genre. It was far too long that calls for this type of show fell on deaf ears. I am so proud of the BBC for making this happen. The door is now wide open and the possibility is now there for inclusion.”
The ‘All I Wanna Do’ hitmaker – who is the younger sister of ‘Spinning Around’ legend Kylie Minogue – previously described the presenting role as her “dream job” as she vowed to put her “heart and soul” into the new show many years after she was first embraced by her gay fans at the start of her career.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, she said: “It is my dream job. I tried so many times with my friends to matchmake and I was very successful with friendships with business partnerships and then I was successful with my friends Ian and Dan – they got married. So yeah, it’s the very first gay dating show. Remind me why we’ve waited so long for this, right? I feel like it’s been years that we’ve been watching so many dating shows whether it’s on an island or whether it’s in a house. ‘Love on a Spectrum’ is one of my favourite’s and my sister Kylie’s favourite too. It’s just time for the LGBT community to have something like this.
“It’s something that I want to do with a lot of heart and soul and do it proud and do it well. I was the first performer at G-A-Y and Jeremy Joseph reminded me of that. I just thought ‘Well, that’s natural. Of course. I’m going to perform there.’
“I didn’t think that there was any reason why I should but he told me that nobody else would perform there. It’s my happy place! The whole country – whether you’re trying to go out on a date now or if you’ve been on dating apps – there are so many people who are lonely and looking for love and they’re ready. So, hopefully, we’ll make some beautiful guys very happy.”
‘I Kissed A Boy’ is to air from 9pm on Sunday 14 May on BBC Three.

She told The Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: “I know we are making the right decision. I have openly told everyone that I am not ready for a baby, that Ercan is not ready, that our relationship isn’t ready yet so many people say to me, ‘Just do it. Just have a baby’. I think, ‘Do you know how toxic that narrative is?’ We need to be kinder to women and a bit more
understanding.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ winner went on to insist that she has not made the decision just so she can go out and party over the coming years and instead claimed that she wants to be the “best mum possible” as she explained she is “lucky” to be financially secure and in a position to freeze her eggs in the first place.
She added: “I haven’t made the decision so I can enjoy drinking for the next five years and party. I have worked hard on myself. I have had therapy and I want to be the best mum possible and I am proud of that. It’s been much harder than I realised and there has been some abuse too. But I realise how lucky I am, not only financially but also biologically to be able to do this. I count my blessings.”

Amber Doig-Thorne knew straight away she wanted to be in Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Doig-Thorne”loves” how ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ combines the classic children’s character with the genre of horror.
The 22-year-old actress stars in the leading role of Alice in the independent film that twists the characters from the A.A Milne series inside out but knew straight away she wanted to be involved in the project because she is a big fan of horror and grew up with toys based on the Disney cartoon.
She told FlickeringMyth.com: “It was really exciting to hear that they were going to be turning Winnie The Pooh into a horror film. I loved Winnie the Pooh growing up – I had the toys, read the books, played the games and loved the films – and horror is also one of my favourite genres to watch, so when I saw the synopsis for Blood and Honey I was very intrigued! It was a unique opportunity where these two things that I love were merged together, so I knew straight away that I wanted to be involved. I thought it was a really exciting concept as Winnie has always been a children’s character.
“However, with this film we are redefining the Winnie the Pooh characters for an adult audience – so hopefully there will be a whole new group of people who have not come across Pooh previously who will be able to appreciate this character as an adult.”
The film went viral during its production period as media outlets picked up on it being filmed and Amber went on to add that the sudden attention on the independent movie – which had a budget of just $100,00 – had been “overwhelming” and she has been “mind-blown” by the resonse.
She added: “It’s certainly been overwhelming, in the best possible way! When we were filming I remember calling my parents and saying that I had a gut feeling that this film could do really well, but I never anticipated just how much interest there would be! When the stills and trailers started going viral last year I was blown away by the response. It was mind-blowing to see global outlets like The Hollywood Reporter, New York Times, Variety and Rolling Stone writing articles on our little independent film!”

‘I didn’t want to kiss a randomer!’ How Priyanka Chopra ended up kissing husband Nick in Love Again

OHMYGOSSIP — Priyanka Chopra Jonas didn’t want to do a “sloppy kissing scene” with a random person on the set of ‘Love Again.’
The 40-year-old actress stars as a woman struggling to cope with the death of her fiancé who finds love again with a journalist played by Sam Heughan but was left feeling uncomfortable when the script called for her to kiss another character because it was shot when social distancing was encouraged at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and ended up roping real-life husband Nick Jonas in to film the cameo role.
Priyanka – who also stars alongside superstar Celine Dion in the movie – told Parade magazine: “We totally [hit if off]. He’s such a fun and funny guy, and he’s nice. For someone who’s a Sam fan, they’d be re- ally excited to know that he doesn’t just play a good guy in this movie, he’s a really, really good guy, a complete gentleman and super thoughtful as a co-actor as well.
It was a trying time for all of us as actors coming onto this movie but we all had each other and that was really cool. We could hang out. Sam, me, Sofia [Barclay], and the rest of the cast, we used to all hang out together, grab meals, because we just had each other. It was just very great to be able to have people that you could depend on and get along with. person.
“But the director and I were talking at dinner about, ‘Oh, my gosh, there’s a slow, sloppy kiss written into the scene.’ And I was saying, ‘Ugh.” During COVID, kissing a random person sounded very aggressive. And he was like, ‘What if we ask Nick since he’s here anyway?'”
The ‘Citadel’ actress – who has been married to former Disney Channel star Nick since 2018 and has 16-month-old daughter Malti with him – went on to add that her husband had accompanied her to the London-based shoot of ‘Love Again’ anyway and ended up having the “funniest day” on set with him and the rest of the team.
She said: “Nick had traveled to London because it was one of the first times I was traveling during COVID and he wanted to make sure to get me settled in. So, he just happened to be there. We asked him and he was an amazing sport about it. He did the scene, and it was the funniest day on set. I cannot even begin to tell you; it was just a giggle fest. Everyone was just laughing. He was doing something which is the opposite of who we are, so it was just hilarious. I’m really glad Nick came to drop me off in London.”
‘Love Again’ is in cinemas from May 9.

Helen Flanagan caused Corrie crisis with fake tan

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Flanagan caused chaos on ‘Coronation Street’ with her fake tan.
The actress – who is currently starring in ITV’s ‘I’m A Celebrity … South Africa’ – played Rosie Webster on the soap until her exit in 2018 and she’s revealed her obsession with getting a summer glow got her into trouble with show bosses because she’d upset the show’s continuity process with her changing colour.
Speaking on an episode of ‘I’m A Celebrity’, she explained: “I used to get in trouble all the time because of my fake tan. One time I’d be really pale and then the next time I’d be bright orange.
“They go mental if you do stuff like that, they go absolutely mental. They flip if continuity changes mid-scene.”
Helen is competing on the show alongside another former soap star Dean Gaffney – who played Robbie Jackson in ‘EastEnders’ – and he confessed he also made a continuity blunder by getting an eyebrow tint while filming.
Dean said: “I was going to Dubai so I nipped off between scenes for a tint but I fell asleep and she left it on too long. First person I saw was [co-star] Danny Dyer. He was like: ‘You alright son?’ but make-up were fuming. They were rubbing at them [eyebrows] for ages, exfoliating, all sorts.”
Helen and Dean were among the stars who jetted to South Africa last year to film the ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ spin-off show. The all-stars competition features celebs who have previously competed in the survival series – which is usually broadcast live from Australia.
In a twist, the spin-off was shot in South Africa and pre-recorded so there was none of the usual audience participation when it came to voting.
Since coming home, Helen revealed she was delighted to be reunited with her three young children – Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and son Charlie, two – after a lengthy stint abroad. In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “I was away for one month and never left my babies before.”
She split from her kids’ father – footballer Scott Sinclair – shortly before going on the show and she previously revealed she decided to keep wearing her engagement ring during filming because she didn’t want to answer any questions about the end of her engagement.
Helen told OK! magazine: “I did wear my engagement ring when I was in the jungle. We’d only just broken up, and I didn’t want everyone to be asking, ‘Where’s your ring?’ I wanted to keep it private for the kids.”

Chukwudi Iwuji can’t defend villainous Guardians of the Galaxy character

OHMYGOSSIP — Chukwudi Iwuji says he shouldn’t have to defend his villainous character in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3’.
The actor plays the film’s baddie – The High Evolutionary – in the new superhero movie who is trying to perfect civilisation by carrying out experiments on animals and children – and Chukwudi says there’s just no excusing the bad behaviour of the merciless Marvel villain because he’s just totally “sadistic”.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “I don’t believe that you have to defend your character. He’s sadistic. His way of thinking has led us to some of the most terrible periods in our history and in humanity. People who think they know the right answer, people who want to cleanse, people who think they want to find perfection. So I cannot defend him, but I can defend playing him, because it was a gift of a role for an actor.”
Chukwudi added of the character: “What he doesn’t realise is that the flaw is in him. He’s deeply unhappy with himself and projects it outward. He would always see a flaw that he needs to fix. It would never stop. It’s a tireless and endless pursuit.”
However, the 47-year-old actor says he loved playing the baddie onscreen and enjoyed walking out on set wearing such an intricate costume. He went on to say: “It was a joy to play! … Oh man, putting on the costume was just extraordinary. It was the final piece in figuring out how I was gonna start this journey with this character, because that costume is awesome. It holds you up in a certain way. It flows in a certain way … So it was great, but I would say the magic of it was putting on that suit and getting a flash of myself in the mirror and saying, ‘Okay, I’m the High Evolutionary’.”

David Arquette wants a reboot of this classic 1990s movie

OHMYGOSSIP — David Arquette wants a remake of ‘Never Been Kissed’.
The 51-year-old actor starred alongside Drew Barrymore in the 1999 romantic comedy that follows a young journalist posing as a high schooler for research purposes and admitted that he still “loves” the film and would even like to see a reboot or a sequel.
Asked which of his films he would like to see remade, he told ScreenRant: “‘Never Been Kissed’. I love that film, just as a sweet romantic comedy. I’d love to see where those characters are now.. Then maybe ‘Eight-Legged Freaks’ as a creature feature. I just don’t think there’s enough of those little silly things. And when they do it right, it becomes like ‘Stranger Things’. There are creature features, but I think they’re just not done enough. And then Ready to Rumble. Bring back the wrestling and that whole world; maybe bring back some of the guys from WCW in that movie.
Meanwhile, the ‘Scream’ star – who was famously married to ‘Friends’ actress Courteney Cox and has 18-year-old daughter Coco with her but also has Charlie, nine, and six-year-old Gus with Christina McLarty – went on to tease that one of his latest projects is alongside Nick Jonas as he joked that he seems to always ben playing the “jerk” in a movie as he gets older.
He added: ” I have a film coming out, which was called ‘Good Grief’, but it’s called [‘The Good Half’] now.
“It’s premiering at Tribeca, and it has a wonderful cast. Elisabeth Shue, Matt Walsh, Nick Jonas… I had fun with that, although I played another jerky guy. It’s funny, because the older I get, the more jerk roles I get to play with. It’s time to be the nice guy again.

‘I thought I was going to die!’ EastEnders’ Danniella Westbrook regrets her fifth facelift

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook regrets going under the knife for her fifth facelift.
The 49-year-old actress – who is best known for playing the role of Sam Mitchell on BBC soap opera ‘EastEnders’ for various stints over the years – has undergone several bouts of surgery reconstructive surgery on her nose to replace her eroded septum following excessive cocaine use and recently travelled to Turkey to have a fat transfer in a bid to fix a past botched op, but has now told of the “living nightmare” that the trip became.
She told OK! Magazine: “I had a surgical thread lift where they put over 1,200 threads into my face. They were also supposed to reconstruct my nose, which is what I went there for, but they haven’t done that. They put 200 threads in my nose to straighten it, but it hasn’t worked. So I feel like I’ve wasted my time. The main thing I wanted doing was for my nose to be reconstructed. I’ve been waiting for nearly four years. So I’m going back to my surgeon in Liverpool to get my nose fixed. They’re going to rebuild all the bridge in my mouth and build up the front of my nose. I need to wait to heal first, but I’ll be getting it done when I can.
“I also had fat harvesting [a fat transfer]. They’ve taken the fat out of my back, my sides and my stomach, and put it into my face to make it more symmetrical. But I feel like they’ve taken too much fat from my stomach. I’ve always had a six-pack, and I’ve woken up, and I’ve lost it.
“I also have big lumps of fluid all over my belly. They’re like big tennis balls. It’s ruined my body. It’s going to take a lot of work to get it back to how I was. I’m 50 this year, and I wanted to be in the best shape ever.
“The whole thing has been awful, if I’m being honest!”
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star went on to add that her face ended up “three times its size” following the operation and decided to write a will after hearing “horror stories” about people who had gone through the same thing and believed at one point she was going to die.
She added: “I’ve had a lot of surgery in my life, but I’ve never experienced anything like this. The pain was off the scale.
“My face was three times its size. I had fluid under my eyes, they were so swollen.
I could barely open them. I have never been in pain like it. I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I was hysterically crying every single day. It was terrifying because I don’t speak Turkish, so nobody could understand me. I was trying to tell them how much pain I was in and they just couldn’t understand, so I was freaking out.
“I thought I was going to die during the surgery, I really did. On the way there, I was told horror stories about people dying on the table. Not at the clinic I was at, but at others in Turkey. So that really frightened me.
“I wrote a will before the surgery, not that I’ve got much to leave, but I was petrified. My dad has got dementia, and I was thinking, ‘What am I doing out here?’ If anything happened to me, he wouldn’t understand.”

Harry Hill: TV Burp jokes were too harsh!

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Hill thinks he went “a bit far” with the jokes on ‘TV Burp.’
The 58-year-old comedian wrote and starred in the ITV Saturday night comedy series from 2001 until 2012 which saw him poke fun at all mediums of television that had been broadcast over the week – including soap operas such as ‘Coronation Street’, talent shows like ‘The X Factor’ as well as other factual series – but admits more than a decade after quitting the show that it was “quite harsh” and some celebrities such as celebrity chef Jamie Oliver stopped him from featuring clips from their shows on the programme.
He is quoted by The Daily Star newspaper as saying: “We always used to say it was a celebration. But the truth is, if you look at it, some of it was quite harsh. I think we did go a bit far. After a while, Jamie Oliver didn’t let us use any clips of his shows.”
However, Harry – who worked as a doctor before pursuing a career in showbusiness – went on to add that that fans often get in touch with him begging him to revive the series, but admitted that ITV bosses have not reached out and knew he was “fed up” with making the show when he qut in the first place.
He added: “I get asked to bring it back at least once a day. If you go on social media, I get comments asking for it to come back. ITV hasn’t done that. When I said I wanted to finish the show in 2012, they didn’t try to persuade me to keep doing it. I had a good relationship with them and they knew I was fed up with doing it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Jonas is “obsessed” with ‘The Great British Bake Off.’
The 35-year-old pop star is best known as a member of US boyband The Jonas Brothers with younger brothers Joe, 33, and 30-year-old Nick and revealed that he and his wife Danielle both enjoy the annual Channel 4 competition, which sees amateur bakers battle it out to impress Dame Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.

Meanwhile, Nick was asked about his particular favourite piece of British television and remarked that a standout for him was 2020 ITV1 drama ‘Quiz’, which starred Michael Sheen and explored the case of real-life army major Charles Ingham, who set out to cheat his way to the top prize on game show ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ with a coughing accomplice and was caught shortly before he could claim his £1 million prize money.
He said: “I know it’s a few years old but I loved ‘Quiz’, that show was amazing!”

He said: “All the trashy British reality TV is always fun! This Country is probably one of my top three best comedy shows ever!”

‘I ended up wishing I had it! Reality star Sam Thompson didn’t want to let people down with ADHD doc

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Thompson “didn’t want to let people down” with his ADHD documentary.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star, 30, went through a series of tests to determine if he has the neurological condition that affects aspects of life such as behaviour and concentration and ended up “wishing” for a diagnosis so it didn’t make things “awkward” for the sake of his upcoming TV programme.
He told RadioTimes.com: “At the start I was like, ‘I’ve probably got it!’ And then when you’re going through the motions, it becomes so much more real. I was like, ‘I’m going to find out something that is probably going to change my life’ because I’ve always been good at putting things in the back of my head and being like, ‘Whatever that hasn’t happened yet!’ And then you have this conversation with this therapist for like six hours they go through your school reports and it’s like a very intense thing.
“And then, there was a part of me as well that was like, ‘Oh God, I almost wished I had, because I don’t want to let people down.’ Imagine we’d done this whole documentary and used resources that could potentially be used for someone else, and then I didn’t have it. That would be so awkward. So it was a mixture of things really.”
The ‘Celebs Go Dating’ star went on to add that while he didn’t think a diagnosis would be such a “big deal”, he ended up in tears upon being told the news that he does in fact have ADHD as he realised that he is a “special person” after all.
He said: “I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal. I just thought it was going to be like, ‘Hey, you have ADHD!’ and ‘Cool, like when we go from there?’ But, it was emotional! I said to my director, ‘Just to let you know I’m not like a crier. Like I’m not going to be bawling my eyes out!
“And then I went and sat down, and after six hours you’re pretty drained anyway and then she went, ‘I imagine you’ve been feeling a certain way about yourself throughout a lot of your life. And I just want to let you know, you’re a very special person.’ I literally was like, ‘Oh my god!’ And I had like a singular tear that went down. It really hit me and I just obviously didn’t realise how much I wanted to hear that. I just think I’ve just hardened myself to a lot of stuff. Someone just sitting there like, ‘You’re a good guy!’ That was really nice! And I had a little cry, which I just didn’t expect at all. I just didn’t think was gonna be that emotional, but it really was.”
‘Sam Thompson: Is This ADHD?’ airs E4 and All4 at 9pm on May 8.

Charli XCX to make movie debut in horror remake

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX will make her movie debut in upcoming horror film.
The ‘Break The Rules’ hitmaker has been cast in a remake of 1978’s classic ‘Faces of Death alongside Stranger Things stars Barbie Ferreira and Dacre Montgomery.
The film is currently in production in New Orleans with Legendary Pictures and will be directed by Daniel Goldhaber who will also serve as co-writer alongside Isa Mazzei.
In a statement, the pair said: “Faces of Death was one of the first viral video tapes, and we are so lucky to be able to use it as a jumping off point for this exploration of cycles of violence and the way they perpetuate themselves online.”
The film will follow a similar format to the original as it’s set to be presented like a documentary detailing the most horrific murders of the time. Whilst most of the footage is staged, the use of real footage proved controversial and led to it being banned in multiple countries.
The 30-year-old singer has remained busy since signing her first record deal in 2010. Along with releasing five studio albums, she’s also produced multiple EP’s and singles. This venture will be a first for Charli as she makes her way from stage to big screen.
Meanwhile her co-star Darce Montgomery made a surprise return to season 4’s finale of ‘Stranger Things’. Despite being killed off at the end of the last season, he shocked fans with his cameo appearance as Billy Hargrove.
The Australian actor has also been set to star alongside Vicky Krieps in another horror role titled ‘Went Up That Hill’.
Darce will star as the lead in the supernatural thriller. The story follows Jack, who was abandoned as a child, and travels to New Zealand for the funeral of his estranged mother in search for answers.

Emma Atkins wants to be EastEnders killer to complete her soaps bingo card

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ star Emma Atkins joked that she would like to murder someone as it’s the only storyline she hasn’t tackled.
The 48-year-old actress has played Charity Dingle on the ITV soap since 2000, and she thinks at this point the only fresh plot point for her character would be a pivot to being a killer.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “I think I’ve blackmailed, but I’ve not killed anyone. Then again, when they say a character’s killed someone then it’s slippery slope.”
Emma quipped it would be “boring” to wish happiness on Charity.
She said: “I think she’s pretty much done everything. To say I’d want her to be happy is a bit boring.”
Recently, Emma teased a “magical” moment when Charity realises that her husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is the father of Chloe Harris’ baby Reuben as the new mother – who is played by Jessie Elland – asks if he wants to see his son as she recovers from meningitis and his wife overhears.
She said: “There’s a moment in the village where we bump into each other, and Mackenzie doesn’t know that Charity knows and that is magical.”
