Line of Duty star Vicky McClure ‘doesn’t know how to respond’ to her own success

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky McClure “doesn’t know how to respond” to her own success.
The 40-year-old actress appeared in a number of guest roles on British television before she got her big break starring as Detective Inspector Kate Fleming in the BBC series ‘Line of Duty’ and while she doesn’t take anything “for granted”, she still finds it “weird” to be in the public eye.
She told The Observer: “When people are kind about my work, I never know how to respond properly. I don’t take it for granted. But being in the public eye is weird. A part of me is still very confused by it.”
Meanwhile, the ‘This Is England actress has been in a relationship with actor and producer Jonny Owen for a number of years and explained that they both spend significant time apart so they can pursue their dreams but noted that she has never felt the need to leave her hometown in Nottingham for London because that is where is is at her happiest.
She added: “Laughter, honesty and letting each other fly. That’s what you need in a relationship. I’m away all the time. My partner [actor and producer Jonny Owen] is, too. Weeks go by and we don’t see each other. But I want him to pursue his dreams and he wants me to achieve mine. I couldn’t love him more for it. London has given me an awful lot, but it’s not the be-all and end-all. There’s life across the country. Leaving Nottingham never felt like an option for me – I love the stability and familiarity, the people. I can catch my breath here. I know what’s what. I’m happiest on the sofa, slobbing with Jonny.”

Greta Gerwig compares Barbie to disco

OHMYGOSSIP — Greta Gerwig has compared the ‘Barbie’ movie to disco music.
The 39-year-old filmmaker was inspired by musicals such as ‘The Wizard of Oz’ when it came to her tale about the beloved Mattel doll, and she hopes it gives audiences a fun, communal experience in the same way as the popular 1970s musical style.
She told Total Film magazine:” Basically, the assumption of disco is that when people get together, what they want to do is dance.
“I feel like that’s really optimistic for a musical genre. And I feel like ‘Barbie’ is the same way.”
The movie was shot on the Warner Bros. lot in Leavesden and lead star Margot Robbie was amazed at how many people working on site would “gravitate” towards their studio in the hope of catching a glimpse at a scene.
She laughed: “You’ve never seen so many grown men find excuses to come to set.
“Everyone would gravitate towards it.
“I mean, ‘Fast + Furious’ was shooting at the same studio and they would all come over to look.
“Our crew was made up of extraordinarily talented people who’ve seen the greatest sets in the world and they would tear up.
“Everyone was so excited.”
Greta previously admitted she feared making the film would end her career.
Speaking to Dua Lipa on the ‘At Your Service’ podcast, Greta, 39, said: “It was something that was exciting because it was terrifying. I think that was a big part of it, like: ‘Oh, no, Barbie.’
“It felt like vertigo, starting to write it, like: ‘Where do you even begin, and what would be the story?’ And I think it was that feeling I had was knowing that it would be really interesting terror. Usually that’s where the best stuff is, where you’re like, ‘I am terrified of that.’ Anything where you’re like, ‘This could be a career-ender’ — then you’re like, ‘I should probably do it.’”

Former BBC star Kate Silverton can ‘understand the heartache’ of struggling to conceive

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Silverton” understands the heartache” of women struggling to conceive.
The former BBC newsreader has in recent years paused her career in television to become a counsellor and admitted that she can relate to the women who speak to her about fertility issues because she herself went through several failed rounds of IVF before having 11-year-old Clemency and eight-year-old Wilbur with husband Mike Heron and urged fans to “take care” of themselves amid the trauma of not being able to have a child.
She told The Sunday People’s Love Sunday magazine: “Take care of you. Because the process of IVF takes its toll physically as well as mentally. I got to the point where I accepted that we weren’t going to be able to have children, so we went the full journey. I understand the heartache, I really do. Another important thing in these circumstances is being able to grieve if things don’t go according to plan. We have to learn how to grieve, because all that stress has to come out somehow. I’ve counselled lots of women who phoned to tell me they’d had a miscarriage, and I’d tell them, ‘You’ve got to grieve. You can’t just do what comes naturally and say that you’re fine, because you’re not. “I know I definitely did that, but I tell these women that I want to see snot and tears, because getting those things out clears the way for the next stage.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star went on to advise that any woman in the early stages of IVF should seek a reason as to why she is struggling to conceive and recalled that she did “a lot of therapy” which ultimately helped her get pregnant.
She added: “My advice for someone going through the early stages of IVF is, first and foremost, find out if there’s a reason behind the infertility.
“I did a lot of therapy, and I’m convinced that’s what helped me to conceive. Nutrition and sleep were also key. And you need to look at your wider environment and try not to see yourself as being on the back foot. Take control of your circumstances. Throw yourself into it and keep yourself open.

‘I thought nobody wanted to see it!’ Michael Keaton thought his Batman wasn’t going to happen

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Keaton thought his vision of Batman was unlikely to happen.
The 71-year-old actor took on the title role of the superhero in the 1989 film directed by Tim Burton and returned to star in its 1992 sequel ‘Batman Returns’ but explained that he believed his own views on the character would not make the final cut because he couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to see him portrayed in that way.
He told Empire: “I remember exactly where we were. He said, ‘I wanna talk to you about something… I just want you to read this, because I think I’m gonna make this movie’ What’s interesting if you think about this is that up until then, his and my relationship was only ‘Beetlejuice’. So there was something, I don’t know that I’ve ever asked him this, actually, but something gave him the idea and so he said, ‘go home and read it.
“I said, ‘Well, no one’s going to do what I think, this is probably not going to happen, because I can’t imagine anyone would want to make the movie that I see’ and all I said, ‘listen to me Tim.’ And I started to go down the list of the guy, Bruce Wayne with him, my take on him and he didn’t say anything but his hair was long at the time and I could see it moving as he nodded, ‘yes… yes… Exactly.’ He’s a rare breed, a true artist and a true original. He was already seeing it and it was basically the Frank Miller stuff. And I wasn’t aware of all that stuff, I just knew what it was, but I knew I had to read the Miller stuff. And I thought, ‘oh, this could be interesting.'”
Michael added that his vision of the Bruce Wayne character was as having a “depressed” nature and recalled that Tim complied with the idea to his surprise.
He said: “He’s depressed. I wasn’t really committing to it because I didn’t know what he’d say. Actually, I don’t know I thought he might say but if I was saying it to a studio exec, they’d say, ‘I don’t know if he’s really depressed… I’m not so sure…’ I was sweating bullets and Tim said, ‘Oh yeah, for sure.’ We also thought he was odd, an odd dude, which was fun.”

Margot Robbie: Barbie soundtrack is perfect!

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie thinks the soundtrack to ‘Barbie’ fits “perfectly” with the upcoming film.
The 32-year-old actress will star as the titular doll opposite Ryan Gosling as Ken in the upcoming movie and now that ‘Levitating’ hitmaker Dua Lipa – who also has a part in the film – has released ‘Dance the Night – has explained that she has “totally nailed it ” with the dance record.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre column: “There are movies where you hear a song on the soundtrack and just think, ‘Wow, that fits perfectly’. That is what Dua has achieved with ‘Dance The Night’ – she has totally nailed it.”
In the lyrics, Dua sings: “I’ll still keep the party runnin’, not one hair out of place.”
The ‘Bombshell’ star went on to add that the song will make fans want to “get up and dance” and joked that perhaps she and her co-stars will be out partying to the track following the London premiere. It not only fits the movie perfectly, but when you hear it, you will just want to get up and dance. Maybe after the London premiere, we can have a few drinks and cut a few shapes to it on the dance floor. I am always down for that!”
Earlier this week, Dua’s co-writer Mark Ronson explained that the whole prospect of teaming up with her for the film started with a DM and believes the movie will be “incredible.”
He said: “[I said to her] I only have the track so far, as they started rehearsals, but I would f****** love it if you would consider co-writing and starring on it. I honestly think the movie’s going to be incredible.”
‘Barbie’ will be released in cinemas on 21 July 2023.

The Flash director Andy Muschietti: Ezra Miller is a phenomenal actor, who gives you a lot

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Flash’ took “a lot of reshaping” to make the film “shorter”.
The DC movie’s director Andy Muschietti had a mass of clippings to work with as he praised lead star Ezra Miller (The Flash) for all the extra work they put in.
Speaking to Collider, the filmmaker said of the lengthy task of editing: “The first thing is, I like to shoot a lot and I like to have options, and depending on the actors I’m working with, we have more or less material. In the case of my work with Ezra, we had an impossibly long list of options because Ezra is a phenomenal actor, gives you a lot, and we did a lot of improvising that led to the scenes being longer than expected and ended up with a four-hour movie, basically.”
He went on: “The first part of the answer is, yeah, there was a lot of reshaping of the movie in terms of making it shorter, basically. But of course, the editing process is the place where things really take shape. It’s one thing to have a script and be in love with a script, but then production and the execution take you to a different place where there’s a lot of new things to consider, and the edit room is where it all comes to fall into place. And that requires a lot of work. Sometimes I wish I had a time-traveling machine to jump from day one of edit to six months of the edit to see where the movie ends and to basically not waste all of that time trying things. But the truth is that it’s a process that you have to go through, and it’s a trial and error, and a lot of different versions.”
Muschietti also teased that there are some “surprises” to look out for.
He said: “If you see the movie on the 16th or after you’ll notice that there’s a couple of surprises there that we wanted to leave for the release of the movie, just to avoid any kind of possible leaks and stuff. So, there’s a couple more surprises there.”

‘I’ve never seen a with-hunt like it!’ Jeremy Clarkson defends Phillip Schofield

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Clarkson has defended Phillip Schofield.
The 61-year-old star stepped down from his role as host on ‘This Morning’ last week in the months after he and Holly Willoughby had been accused of jumping the queue to visit Queen Elizabeth lying in state and shortly after quitting admitted that he had had an “unwise but not illegal” extramarital affair with a much younger male colleague and now former ‘Top Gear’ host Jeremy, 63, has blasted the whole scandal as a “witch-hunt.”
Writing in his Sunday Times column, he said: “Phil is no longer the genial host of some morning-time televisual cappuccino froth. According to the people’s court of social media, he’s like his brother, a nonce. Actually, he’s worse than that: he’s a queue-jumping nonce. And we don’t want to see his disgusting face ever again.
“I’ve never seen a witch-hunt like it, and what baffles me most of all is that, as things stand, no crime has been committed. I don’t know him at all well and have no skin in the game, but it seems to me he is only guilty of being what he said he was: gay.”
Phils fellow former ‘This Morning’ host Eamonn Holmes’ claimed that when Phillip came out as gay on the ITV sofa in February 2020, the whole exercise had been a “cover up” for the affair but the ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ star “seriously doubts” that was the case because CEO Dame Carolyn McCall has “got more to worry about” at the broadcasting network.
He said: “I seriously doubt that. [Carolyn McCall] has got the share price to worry about, and the launch of the new ITVX service, and she’s also engaged in an apparent one-woman quest to rid the screen of all middle-aged men: Morgan, Kyle, etc.”

Asked about her worst dating experience, she told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz Column: “When you go to the bathroom and you’ve a massive bogey and they’ve been smiling in your face the whole time. That happened!”
Meanwhile, the former ‘Celebrity Juice’ star went on to add that she agrees with the show’s new rules that will see the cast have to temporarily deactivate all of their social media platforms whilst they are looking for love in the Mallorcan villa so they can enjoy the “balance” of being away from it.
She added: “I often take a break from social media myself. It’s nice to just actually connect to the real world a bit.” But at the same time I have a laugh on social media and I enjoy it. I feel like if I was in school now, I’d be heavily on it, whereas I got the experience of not having it and having it, so I find a bit of a nice balance with that.”
Away from ‘Love Island’, Maya explained that she has recently got into the power of healing crystals and places them by her bed so she can utilise the “good energy” they are supposed to give off.
She said: “I’ve been gifted some crystals for my birthday before, and I put them next to my bed. I know they’re supposed to be for good energy.”
‘Love Island’ will air from 9pm on 5 June on ITV2 and ITVX.

Britain’s Got Talent 2023 crowns winner

OHMYGOSSIP — Viggo Venn has won ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The Norwegian comic has scooped a £250,000 prize, as well as the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance after taking this year’s crown ahead of second placed dancer Lilliana Clifton, 13, and 14-year-old magician Cillian O’Connor in third.
The 33-year-old comedian not only donned his now-iconic hi-vis vest but forced head judge Simon Cowell into wearing a matching one as rose petals were thrown over the pair
Judge Alesha Dixon told him: “You’ve captivated the nation, they love you.”
Bruno Tonioli added: “I think your physical comedy is world-class, you have created one of the most memorable characters since Mr Bean.”
And Simon was full of praise for the funnyman, telling him: “At least you didn’t make me look stupid tonight. I have never ever met an act like you in my life, I will admit it, I really really love you now.”
Viggo called back to his original audition at the end of his performance, stripping off his jacket to Daft Punk’s ‘One More Time’ to reveal another hi-vis vest.
And when asked why he has so many of the jackets, he told co-host Declan Donnelly: “I wear so many high-vis because it’s really cold in Norway.”
Before the show aired, Simon explained how he hoped the programme would help the contestants build better lives for themselves.
He said: “I think you’ve got two things, you want to make a show which people hopefully will enjoy watching. And secondly, you want to give whoever it is that opportunity, hopefully, for things to get better in their lives after they’ve auditioned. I think where things have changed a lot from where we first started is it always used to be about the end prize.”

Dani Dyer named baby girl after vampire

OHMYGOSSIP — Dani Dyer named one of her twins after a vampire.
The ‘Love Island’ winner, 26, gave birth to twin daughters last month with her footballer boyfriend Jarrod Bowen and the couple named them Summer and Star – and Dani has now revealed West Ham star Jarrod chose the name Summer and she picked Star after seeing an onscreen bloodsucker with the name in Kiefer Sutherland’s 1987 film ‘The Lost Boys’.
In a question-and-answer session with fans on Instagram, Dani was asked how they came up with the girls’ names and she explained: “I’ve always loved the name Star since I was a little girl and watched the film ‘The Lost Boys’ and the vampire was called Star.
“Jarrod always liked the name Summer so it was an easy decision!”
Dani also revealed she had a back-up name in case she changed her mind, adding: “I loved the name Luna as well.”
The telly star – whose dad is ‘EastEnders’ actor Danny Dyer – is also mum to a son named Santi from a previous relationship. She welcomed her twins on May 22 and she shared a sweet update after the family’s first week together.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Our first week together and enjoying every moment of the newborn bubble. t’s been amazing watching Santi be a big brother he has melted my heart in ways I couldn’t imagine and he just feels like such a big boy all of a sudden.
“My heart feels so so full and so excited for our journey together as a family of 5.”
Dani later admitted she has been able to tell the difference between her twins, but she doesn’t yet know if they are going to be identical twins or not.
She wrote: “I can really see the difference between the girls. I thought I wouldn’t be able to but maybe they won’t be identical. I think where Star is smaller it makes it easier but I like to think Summer looks more like Jarrod.”

Strictly’s Neil Jones and Love Island’s Chyna Mills expecting a baby girl

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Neil Jones and ‘Love Island’ star Chyna Mills have revealed they are having a baby girl.
The couple – who started dating after the dancer slid into the reality star’s DMs and got engaged in April – were joined by his fellow ‘Strictly Come Dancing: The Professionals’ tour stars as they held a gender reveal.
Dancers – including Dianne Buswell, Gorka Marquez, Vito Coppola, Carlo Gu, Karen Hauer, Nikita Kuzmin, Luba Mushtuk, Nancy Xu and Jowita Przystal – all witnessed the moment they sliced into a cake to reveal a pink sponge.
They all cheered: “It’s a girl!”
Speaking to HELLO! magazine about the moment they found out the sex of the unborn tot with his ‘Strictly’ gang, Neil, 41, said: “They were as thrilled as us.
“They’d been trying to guess if we were expecting a girl or a boy, and for the HELLO! photoshoot the girls wore pink or blue eyeshadow, depending on what they thought. Dianne was like, ‘Your daughter will have so many (Strictly) aunties now!’ Chyna and I are so happy and I can’t wait to be a dad.”
Chyna, 24, says she had an inkling she was having a girl because of her intense morning sickness and the fact her mother had it bad with each of her pregnancies with her girls.
She said: “I had horrendous morning sickness, which my mum – who’s had four girls – tells me is a sign. My cravings have been for sweet food, too. Krispy Kreme donuts are my downfall.”
Neil believes their daughter will be a model like his mum because of her long legs, while Chyna is tipping her little girl to be a dancer like daddy.
He said: “During a scan the nurse tried to get the baby to turn.
“When she wouldn’t, the nurse joked, ‘This one’s quite stubborn,’ and I thought, ‘That’s like Chyna.’ The baby even lies with her arms above her head and with her legs crossed – just like her mum. Her legs are really long, so she could be a model, too.”
Chyna added: “I think she’s going to be a dancer, like her dad.
“Whenever we play music or I watch Neil perform, she moves as if she’s trying to dance. I feel she and I know everything about each other, and I talk to her all the time.”
The couple have around 17 weeks until they meet the little one.
Neil admitted: “My outlook on life has changed. It’s not just about me anymore – I need to take care of two people.”

Hocus Pocus 3 is in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — Disney bosses are working on a third instalment of ‘Hocus Pocus’ after successfully reviving the film for a sequel.
Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy reprised their roles as three witches known as the Sanderson sisters for a second movie which was released in 2022 – almost 30 years after the original – and now it’s been confirmed there are plans to bring ‘Hocus Pocus’ back for a third film.
Sean Bailey, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, dropped the big news in an interview with the New York Times, simply stating: “Yes, ‘Hocus Pocus 3’ is happening.”
He didn’t give any more details about the third movie or confirm which cast members would be returning. It comes after Midler recently voiced her fear that a third film may never get off the ground.
Asked about the prospect of another sequel, she told E! News: “I’m not sure. Everything is weird. I don’t know, maybe. Who knows?”
However, ‘Beaches’ star Bette also insisted she would “of course” sign up to appear in a third instalment of the series alongside Sarah Jessica and Kathy but is unsure how it could work in terms of the story. She told Entertainment Weekly: “I’d love to have a franchise – especially a character I love playing. If there was a third one, of course, I’d sign on, but I don’t know how. I can’t imagine what the story would be, but I love Winifred, Sarah, Mary, and our relationship. It’s good for women. We stick together through hell and high water, but we do cause mayhem, and not many women cause that much mayhem!”

Michael Keaton: Beetlejuice 2 will be made ‘as close’ as possible to the original

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Keaton says the new ‘Beetlejuice’ movie will be made like the first flick.
The 71-year-old actor is reprising his role as the titular ghost in the sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 supernatural comedy, and he has revealed he and the legendary filmmaker agreed to make it “as close” as they can to the original.
He told Empire: “‘Beetlejuice’ is the most f***ing fun you can have working. It’s so fun. It’s so great. And you know what it is? We’re doing it exactly like we did the first movie.
“There’s a woman in the great waiting room for the afterlife literally with a fishing line – I want people to know this because I love it – tugging on the tail of a cat to make it move.
“[Burton] and I were talking about it years and years ago, never telling anybody. I said, ‘If it happens’ – first of all, we’ve both said we’re doing it many times. We both agreed, ‘If it happens, it has to be done as close to the way we made it the first time.'”
He added: “Making stuff up, making stuff happen, improvising and riffing, but literally handmade stuff like people creating things with their hands and building something. F***ing great. It’s the most fun I’ve had working on a movie in I can’t tell you how long.”
Michael’s update comes after Willem Dafoe joined the cast.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 67-year-old star will play a law enforcement officer in the afterlife.
The new movie features a combination of both original and fresh cast members with Winona Ryder also reprising the part of Lydia Deetz.
‘Wednesday’ actress Jenna Ortega has been cast as Lydia’s daughter, Monica Bellucci is to play Beetlejuice’s wife and Justin Theroux is to feature in a role that is not yet known.
Production on the project is underway in the UK ahead of a September 2024 release date.
The original movie was a critical and commercial hit and told the story of a couple of ghosts who enlist a spirit named Beetlejuice to help them rid their home of its new inhabitants.
Composer Danny Elfman – who will be reunited with long-term collaborator Burton on the sequel – recently suggested that Michael “won’t look much different” as the character despite more than three decades having passed since the original movie.
He told Deadline: “I said, ‘He’s not even going to look that much different. That’s the beauty of the ‘Beetlejuice’ make-up. He already looked like he was 150 in the first one.’
“It’s perfect, you know? Everybody else has to play the next generation, except for Michael. I mean, he’s still like really fit and really active and really on it.
“And with the ‘Beetlejuice’ make-up, I can’t even imagine it’s going to look like he’s changed practically at all. So, I can’t wait for that.”

Cheryl ‘considering documentary about her life to mark 40th birthday’

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl is reportedly thinking about doing a documentary to mark her 40th birthday.
The Girls Aloud singer wants to film a retrospective of her life as she gets ready to hit the milestone age on 30 June – 20 years after she competed and won on the ITV talent competition ‘Pop Stars: The Rivals’ alongside her bandmates Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and the late Sarah Harding – looking back her pop days a telly career on shows such as ‘The X Factor’ and her recent turn on the West End stage in the play ‘2:22: A Ghost Story’.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “As she approaches a landmark birthday, Cheryl’s been taking a look back at her life and thinking about capturing her thoughts on film.
“There’s been a long line of other stars who’ve done the same, relishing the rare chance to give their side of the story in their own words.
“But Cheryl will only go ahead if she’s completely comfortable with what approach they’ll take and her level of input.
“It’s too soon to say which broadcaster would most likely air the show, but with competition between terrestrial channels and streamers stronger than ever it would likely spark a bidding battle.”
Cheryl’s One Direction star ex Liam Payne, 29, who has six-year-old son Bear with the singer, is also said to be producing a similar project after he appeared at the premiere of his former bandmate Louis Tomlinson’s ‘All Those Voices’ film in March.
In April, a source told The Sun: “Liam has debated the idea of doing a film for a while and has been self-documenting his career ever since his One Direction days.
“Going to Louis’ premiere in March really solidified the plan in his head.
“Last week he quietly held a few meetings with production companies in London about the project to see what they could do.
“It’s very early days but the thinking is that it will end up on a streaming service like Prime Video or Netflix.
“Liam is really proud of what he has achieved but obviously, because of his background with 1D, the boys are constantly compared to one another.
“A lot of it he is able to shrug off but sometimes things can hurt. He’s not one to mope around and hold a pity party by any means but.”

Davina McCall ‘sad’ about Britain’s contraception choices

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall is “sad” about contraception choices in Britain.
The ex ‘Big Brother’ host, 55, is fronting a new Channel 4 documentary calling for a “revolution” in birth control 60 years after the invention of the pill, which prompted a sexual revolution but has side effects like blood clots, mood swings and increased chance of stroke.
She told the Daily Mirror about her new show ‘Davina McCall’s Pill Revolution’, which will air on Thursday (08.06.23) at 9pm: “Making this film has left me feeling quite sad that we are still struggling 60 years after the pill was invented.
“It makes me kind of angry too, because we deserve better. Better research. Better knowledge. Better quality of care. More funding. And why should we compromise our quality of life to prevent pregnancy?
“This is a conversation we have to have! So let’s start the contraception revolution, right now.”
Davina – who has children Holly, 21, Tilly, 19, and Chester, 16, with her 54-year-old ex Matthew Robertson – revealed how her two girls had completely different experiences with the pill.
She said: “Both my daughters took the pill, and one got on fine with it.
“But my younger one had a terrible time with her mental health and has often wondered whether her Pill contributed to that.”
Davina added to the Times newspaper about her views on contraception: “Sadly, there is so little research done into women’s health, and it means that we’re scrabbling around for science-based evidence to do with contraception.”
The former ‘Streetmate’ presenter, who will be seen changing her coil on camera on her new show, added a brief bit of “discomfort” is worth it compared to the annoyance of a tablet.
Davina said: “I’m not saying the hormonal coil is the holy grail and it won’t be right for everyone.
“But for me, 10 minutes of discomfort is a small price to pay for five years of no periods and the convenience of not having to remember to take something every day.”

Plans for third instalment of BBC’s ‘Life on Mars’ dumped: ‘We’re all sick as a jungle full of parrots’

OHMYGOSSIP — Plans for a third instalment of the BBC’s ‘Life on Mars’ have been ditched.
The original show and its ‘Ashes to Ashes’ sequel were huge hits for the broadcaster when it first started in 2006, and creators Matthew Graham and Ashley Pharoah announced details of a follow up titled ‘Lazarus’ in 2020.
But Matthew tweeted about it not going ahead: “Some sad news folks. After many months of planning, we will now not be making ‘Lazarus’. I can’t go into details but the hurdles were financial not creative.
“Naturally all who were involved are sick as a jungle full of parrots. Not least myself and Ashley Pharoah.
“It was a cracking concept – pertinent to our times. It had a whole new round of things to say about the relationship between the public and the police.
“And it was bloody funny too. But that as they say is showbiz baby.
“Forgive us if we don’t take questions on the decision or on what happens next for Gene, Sam and the gang.
“But we wanted to let those who were interested know so that you could instead raise a pint of tan n bitter to the Guv.”
Ashley also told fans: “Really disappointing news but we gave it a proper crack. We’re still thinking of a way to either share the script with you or bring it out in another form. Until then… pub?”
It’s understood ‘Lazarus’ would have seen characters from both previous shows come together.
‘Life on Mars’ followed Manchester police officer Sam Tyler, played by John Simm, after he was transported from 2006 to the 1970s, while ‘Ashes to Ashes’ featured his superior Gene Hunt, portrayed by Philip Glenister, in a 1980s setting.
