Sebastian Stan: There’s a Donald Trump in all of us

OHMYGOSSIP — Sebastian Stan thinks “there’s a Trump in all of us” after playing the controversial figure in ‘The Apprentice’.
The 42-year-old actor stars as the former US president in the upcoming drama, and now Stan has said everyone can relate to Donald Trump “to some extent” because we all have “darker elements that live within us”.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “I think that there’s a Trump in all of us to some extent. I know that might not be a popular thing to say, or people maybe don’t want to admit it.
“It’s important for us to explore perhaps the darker elements that live within all of us so that by bringing them into the light, we can understand how to have a better relationship with them rather than suppressing and avoiding and pretending that they’re not there.
“I think that’s where the value is because I don’t think anyone is on a moral high ground.”
The movie – which was directed by Ali Abbasi and is due to be released in cinemas next week – follows the businessman’s rise to fame in the late 1970s as he went from a New York real estate mogul to a man synonymous with wealth and power.
The ‘Thunderbolts*’ actor – who stars opposite Jeremy Strong and Maria Bakalova – added he was able to relate to Trump after portraying him in the picture.
Stan explained: “I understood that drive to rise, to overcome at whatever cost, and to win. I understood that simply from my own very, very small, humble beginnings with the American dream. We love a winner in this country. It’s a fact that, to me, felt relatable in many ways.”
The Marvel star emphasised that he knew “people feel very strongly about [Trump] in two different extremes” following the businessman’s time in politics.
He said: “They think he’s either God’s son or he’s Lucifer incarnate, and I think we need to bring him back down to earth in the hope of understanding. People towards a reconnection with their own humanity.”

David Walliams and Matt Lucas bringing back Little Britain back #but there is one ‘problem’

OHMYGOSSIP — David Walliams and Matt Lucas are planning to bring ‘Little Britain’ back for a live show.
The 53-year-old TV star wrote and appeared in the BBC Three sketch show – which ran from 2003 to 2006 – alongside Matt Lucas, 50, and the comedy duo are intending on the road, but there is just one “problem” for them.
David told The Daily Star newspaper: “I’m sure at some point we’re going to revisit the show. I’m sure we’ll tour live again. Me and Matt would love to do it again. The only problem is Matt’s lost about eight stone, so all the characters are going to look a lot thinner!
However, the former ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge isn’t sure that the show will return to television.
He added: “When you talk to people in TV, they’re like ‘Well we’re not looking for that at the moment.'”
Previously, David has insisted that comedy should not be censored and no gag should be off limits after his sketch show faced allegations of racial steroyping in 2020.
He insists no topic should be off limits for jokes and no one should be told what they can or cannot laugh at.
David believes that comedy is at its best when you’re walking a “tightrope”.
Speaking to Australian newspaper The Age, he said: “You end up with a list of things you can laugh at and things you can’t – but who’s in charge of that list? When you see Ricky Gervais, Dave Chappelle or Chris Rock dealing with taboo stuff intelligently, it works. You can still get things wrong but often, the exciting stuff happens when you’re walking that tightrope.”
The pair – who also received criticism for their mockumentary series ‘Come Fly With Me’ – apologised in 2020 for some of the characters they portrayed in the BBC series.

Tess Daly rules out high heels on Strictly after horror accident near-miss

OHMYGOSSIP — Tess Daly will not be wearing such high heels on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ anymore after she narrowly avoided a nasty accident live on the show.
The 55-year-old presenter fronts the BBC Latin and ballroom show alongside Claudia Winkleman but almost fell during last week’s show and has now revealed she has asked for smaller heels before Saturday (05.10.24) night’s episode.
Speaking to Brian Dowling and Suzanne Kane on ’98FM’, she said: “There are lots of camera cables everywhere and I’m running across at speed to greet a couple after their dance.
“I’m trying to avoid the audience and their legs and tripping over cable cords. Last week, I swear, I righted myself in time just before I hit the floor.
“I don’t think there’s a contingency if I go down. I’m a bit like, ‘Can I have slightly lower heels now? Four inches isn’t going to cut it!’”
Previously, Tess said how her eldest daughter didn’t know realise that she had a famous mum until she reached the age of seven.
But TV star – who has Phoebe, 19, and 14-year-old Amber with her husband Vernon Kay – feels it is important for her kids to be “grounded”, despite their parents’ success.
She told MailOnline: “They are so grounded they know the value of everything. It is everything for us. They have good morals and respect others. It’s everything. They build their self-esteem via you. It is so important to us to keep them grounded. It has never been about us at home – it is about them and their lives and us at a family.
“Phoebe didn’t even know I worked on TV until she was about seven! She had no idea until she saw me once and said, ‘There’s my mum!’ She just thought I went to work on a Saturday because to them it is work. Of course they thoroughly enjoy it and they loved watching their dad on ‘I’m A Celeb’, they love ‘Strictly’ – but it is part of what we do and it doesn’t define who we are to them. We’re just mum and dad.”

Matthew Kelly still working at 74 and wishes he had saved more from Stars in Their Eyes days

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Kelly wishes he had saved more money at the height of his career.
The 74-year-old TV star earned a fortune when he fronted ITV’s talent show ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ throughout the 1990s but is still working on various theatre projects today because he is bad at managing money and didn’t put enough away.
Speaking on the ‘White Wine Question Time’ podcast, he told former ‘Loose Women’ anchor Kate Thornton: “Well, I’m not that pleased with it, really.
You know, I’m just s*** at it, that’s all. You know, I would love to have a bit put by. Luckily, the baby Jesus made me rubbish with money, so I have to keep working, which is a very good thing for me. I need to get out of the house.”
The former ‘You Bet!’ host noted that while he never quite earned as much as was reported back in the day, it was still “pretty good” and reflected that even in his days as a poor student, he always managed to have a little bit in his pocket so he could have a good time.
He said: “There was money, but it’s all gone. I did read in one article how much I was supposed to be getting per episode and I thought ‘Oh my…if only!’ You know, and you read it. But in actual fact, I was being paid very well so it’s not as if I could’ve said I was only being paid a fraction of that. And even a fraction was pretty good!
“We’ve had a laugh and I must say, when I was a student and we ran out of all the time, there was always money for a packet of fags and a drink, and nearly always, champagne. Although I’m a big massive fan of prosecco. Champagne gives me heartburn but prosecco is nice. ”

‘I guess we’ve done our job’: Damien Leone delights in Terrifier 3 walkouts

OHMYGOSSIP — The UK screening of new slasher flick ‘Terrifier 3’ saw 11 people flee the cinema in disgust at the violence and gore shown on screen – much to the delight of director Damien Leone.
The team behind the slasher flick confirmed that a number of audience members were unable to watch the extremely gory horror movie – with one viewer even vomiting – but filmmaker Leone says that only proves that the cast and crew have “done our job”.
In a statement, Leone said: “Typically people walk out of a movie because it sucks. When someone walks out of a ‘Terrifier’ film, it’s a testament to the special makeup fx team. I guess we’ve done our job!”
The movie follows Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) as he attempts to turn Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera) and her brother Jonathan’s (Elliott Fullam) Christmas into a living nightmare.
PR representatives for the flick confirmed the gory opening sequence in the picture prevented ‘Terrifier 3’ from getting Hollywood funding, and the director admitted he knew that the sadistic violence present in the previous entries in the series meant he was “going to have eyes over [his] shoulders” for the new movie.
He told LADbible: “I got to meet with studios, like legit Hollywood studios, who wanted to make ‘Terrifier 3’. But before I even had a script, just having meetings and getting the feel that I was going to have eyes over my shoulders, and they were concerned about the levels of gore and this and that.
“I knew they weren’t going to let me make this movie based on the first five pages. Like, that’s how insane ‘Terrifier 3’ is.”
Leone claimed the opening scene was so appalling Hollywood would “never” let him film it.
The 42-year-old director said: “Mark my words. I guarantee you the first five minutes of this movie is going to be very controversial.
“But that’s not even the big kill scene. So that’s why I was like, I need to just make this movie on my own, because it’s too insane.
“If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in part two was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet.”

James Bond director Sam Mendes casts doubt on a 007 return

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Mendes doesn’t think he will be returning to the James Bond franchise.
The 59-year-old director helmed 2012’s ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre’ three years later but confessed that he is unlikely to come back for a third movie as 007 bosses plan a reboot following Daniel Craig’s departure as Bond.
Speaking with Inverse, the filmmaker said: “Never say never, to quote the man, but I would doubt it.
“It was very good for me at that moment in my life. I felt like it shot me out of some old habits. It made me think on a bigger scale. It made me use different parts of my brain. You have to have a lot of energy.”
Mendes added that Bond chiefs would probably be interested in signing a younger director to helm the next entry in the series because they would be “more controllable”.
He explained: “They want slightly more malleable people who are earlier in their career who perhaps are going to use it as a stepping stone, and who are more controllable by the studio.”
The moviemaker isn’t the only former James Bond contributor to doubt their future in the franchise, as Q actor Ben Whishaw recently admitted his time in the series was likely over because producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson would want “a completely new cast” for the reboot.
During an appearance on BBC One’s ‘Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg’, the 43-year-old actor said: “I don’t think I’m going to be in the next one. I think they’re going to start all over again, and with a new cast, a completely new cast, I think that’s my hunch, but I don’t know. I have no idea.”
The ‘Paddington’ star did suggest that he was open to reprising his role as the MI6 gadgets whizz if the opportunity to do so ever arose.
He said: “I think it might need a kind of new lease of life and a whole new group of people. I think it could be good for it, but if they asked me, I would do it, of course.”

Peaky Blinders production starts as Cillian Murphy reunites with Steven Knight

OHMYGOSSIP — Cillian Murphy has started production on the ‘Peaky Blinders’ film.
The 48-year-old actor is set to reprise his role as Tommy Shelby in the upcoming Netflix movie, and he has reunited with the BBC show’s creator Steven Knight as filming gets underway.
The streaming platform’s official account on X, formerly Twitter, shared professional photos of Murphy on set both in character and with Knight.
They wrote: “By order of the Peaky Blinders… Tommy Shelby is back.
“Cillian Murphy and Steven Knight are reunited on set as production officially starts on the upcoming Netflix film.”
Tom Harper is directing the upcoming spin-off, which followed Birmingham gang leader Tommy.
‘Saltburn’ star Barry Keoghan has signed up to appear in the movie in an unknown role, while ‘Dune’ actress Rebecca Ferguson is also part of the cast.
In the wake of the movie announcement, Murphy told Deadline: “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me… It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of ‘Peaky Blinders’. This is one for the fans.”
Director Harper added: “When I first directed ‘Peaky Blinders’ over 10 years ago, we didn’t know what the series would become, but we did know that there was something in the alchemy of the cast and the writing that felt explosive.
“‘Peaky’ has always been a story about family – and so it’s incredibly exciting to be reuniting with Steve and Cillian to bring the movie to audiences across the world on Netflix.”
And Knight teased the film will be “full-on”.

Kirsten Dunst is to star alongside Channing Tatum in Roofman

OHMYGOSSIP — Kirsten Dunst is to star in ‘Roofman’.
The 42-year-old actress will appear alongside Channing Tatum in the true crime motion picture, according to Deadline.
‘Roofman’ is based on the story of robber Jeffrey Manchester, who broke into more than 60 McDonald’s restaurants overnight via their roofs.
He remained in the eateries until staff arrived for work in the morning, and he herded them into the freezers while he emptied the cash registers.
Manchester became known as the ‘Rooftop Robber’ or ‘Roofman’, but he was known for a gentle demeanour and rarely being violent.
He was convicted and jailed in 2000, but he broke out of prison.
Manchester went on the run for months and hid out in a Toys ‘R Us and Circuit City store in North Carolina.
To survive, he ate baby food and managed to exercise by riding bikes around the shop.
However, he was eventually recaptured and sent back to jail after his fingerprints were discovered on a DVD of movie ‘Catch Me If You Can’, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.
‘Civil War’ actress Dunst is to portray a Toys ‘R Us employee, who Manchester falls for while secretly watching her from inside the shop.
She finds him endearing and eventually learns of his shocking back story.
Despite this, the mother-of-two still wants to care for him.
Derek Cianfrance is to direct the project and has penned the script alongside Kirt Gunn.
Dylan Sellers and Chris Parker will produce the movie, alongside the ‘Blue Valentine’ filmmaker’s regular collaborators Jamie Patricof and Lynette Howell Taylor.
Limelight has developed the project and will fully finance the film.

Bobby Brazier wants to ‘step away from acting for a bit’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Brazier is planning to “step away from acting”.
The ‘EastEnders’ star – who has played Freddie Slater on the soap since 2022 – has become a huge name for the BBC soap in recent years, but he needs “a break” after his various projects have started building up.
He’s quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column as saying: “I think I need to step away from acting for a bit and have a break.
“I’m 20, but I haven’t felt 20 in a very long time.”
Bobby – the son of Jeff Brazier and late reality star Jade Goody – was a finalist on last year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 21-year-old actor will also appear in Alexandra Burke’s new Paramount+ drama ‘Curfew’, and working with her has given him a desire to work on the West End.
He added: “I found Alexandra really inspiring. I would love to do what she has done and go into the West End.
“I would love to be talented enough to get up on stage and sing and dance every night. But I know how much hard work goes into that.”
And despite wanting to take a break, Bobby hopes he keeps getting more offers for other projects so he can continue to “progress and learn”.
He said: “I want to be good at what I do, so any opportunity that presents itself where I can progress and learn, I will take.”
His West End dream could become a reality, as it was reported after his ‘Strictly’ stint that theatre bosses were eying him up.
A source told The Sun newspaper last year: “Bobby’s time on ‘Strictly’ certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed by theatre bosses.
“They really feel he has star quality and would put bums in seats, given his huge popularity.
“Bobby’s so graceful on the dancefloor and they believe he wouldn’t look out of place on a big musical production, or even a play.”

Gary Lineker’s nephew ‘crushed to death by falling tree trunk’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Lineker’s tree surgeon nephew Jonty Parkinson was “crushed to death by falling trunk”.
George Lineker, 31, the son of The ‘Match of the Day’ presenter, 63, has led tributes to his 18-year-old cousin, who he has described as “one of the nicest boys you’ll ever meet” on a social media post, following the inquest into the events surrounding the teenager’s death.
Underneath a childhood snap of Jonty, George wrote on his Instagram Story: “Taken far too soon. Fly high cousin, you’ll be missed by all.”
Gary’s son Tobias, 28, also added a heartfelt message on Instagram, writing: “Taken from us far too soon, rest in peace little cousin.”
Darren Salter, the senior coroner, ruled that Jonty died after an injury to his abdomen while out on a job on September 6 in Eaton Hastings, Oxfordshire.
A GoFundMe page was established to remember Jonty, and it has since raised £32,000 to pay for a “beautiful memorial or event” held by the family.
One post described Jonty as a “very special, beautiful young man”.
It read: “I realise money can’t fill the great chasm of loss they are feeling, but I hope it can be used to ease the burden of funeral expenses or go towards a fitting memorial for Jonty.”
Jonty – who lived in Coln St. Aldwyns in Cirencester – was related to Gary from the England legend’s first marriage to Michelle Cockayne, the mother of his sons George, Tobias, Harry, 30, and Angus, 26.
Authorities have yet to confirm a date for a full inquest.

‘It’s less nerves and more excitement’ AJ Odudu gears up for ‘fun’ Big Brother series

OHMYGOSSIP — AJ Odudu is “less nervous and more excited” about this year’s ‘Big Brother’ series.
ITV brought the reality TV show back last year for the first time since 2018, and a civilian edition was won by Jordan Sangha, 26.
AJ and fellow TV presenter Will were confirmed as the show’s co-hosts, and they will be back for more when the programme returns for a new season on Sunday (06.10.24), but she isn’t as nervous this time around.
Speaking about the new season, AJ said: “Going into this series, it’s less nerves and more excitement.
“We already know that we’ve got an amazing team and I already know that I’ve got the most incredible co-presenter.
“And if the cast are anything like they were last year, then it’s going to be a series full of excitement and so much fun.”
Will added: “The last series showed us the bond you can form with the housemates – it reminded us what those housemates become to you as a viewer.
“This time around getting a new batch in and getting to know them, we’re reminded how much they can become part of your family.”
The pair – who also co-hosted ITV’s first-ever celebrity edition of the show earlier this year – found it “really fun” presenting the programme.
Will explained: “We said going into the first one, it was so great to be able to share it with a friend – I think partly we had it in the back of our minds, for better or for worse.
“If it’s harder than we thought then it will be great to have that support of a friend.
“But now that we’ve done it, the main takeaway was that it’s really fun – Friday eviction nights are just fun! We get to hang out every Friday night and sharing the good times is what I’m really excited about.”
AJ added: “I echo what Will said. It was definitely everything I wanted it to be and more.
“I was so excited to be working with Will last series.
“It’s very rare that you get to do a job that you always dreamed of since you were a little girl and it’s extra rare that you get to do it with one of your best mates – a dream come true.”

Life on Mars’ John Simm discovers dad wasn’t his biological father on DNA Journey

OHMYGOSSIP — John Simm has made a shocking discovery that his dad wasn’t his biological father.
The ‘Life On Mars’ star has been left stunned upon finding out the man who raised him, Ronald Simm, was not his real dad, during an appearance on ITV1 genealogy show ‘DNA Journey’, which he only took part in to support his friend and co-star Philip Glenister, 61.
On the programme, John took a DNA test and discovered the man who fathered him was called Terence Naylor, who died in 1998.
Speaking on the episode – which is airing on October 9 – the 54-year-old actor says: “The DNA results came back and my dad, is not my dad. It turns out he isn’t my biological father, which is a bit of a shock. It spun my world, and everything I thought I knew wasn’t real.”
John – who has kids Molly and Ryan with his wife actress Kate Magowan – used to sing and play guitar in pubs with Ronald, and now believes his real dad Terence could’ve even seen him perform one night.
He says: “The thing that blows my mind, he might have been in the same pub one night and watched me play.
“It’s one of those mad, ‘Back To The Future’, ‘Life On Mars’ things.”
The ‘Crime’ star also explains there was a short period of time between his mother Brenda’s breakup with Terence and getting together with Ronald, who passed away in 2015 aged 78.
John says: “When they had me, in the 60s, they were both young. They were together and then they split up and were both with other people and then they got back together and then they had me. And I’d never heard this story before.”
The star admitted Brenda, 73, has been “absolutely floored” by the discovery.
What’s more, John has also discovered he has a half-sister, Terence’s daughter Karen, who he meets in the ‘DNA Journey’ episode.
The actor says: “I’m glad my dad isn’t alive to see this, because I’m sure he’d be shocked and upset.”

‘Some are true’: DC head James Gunn comments on rumoured Batman villain movies

OHMYGOSSIP — DC Universe creative chief James Gunn has spoken out on the studio’s rumoured Batman villain movies.
Recently, The Hollywood Reporter claimed the company was developing a Bane and Deathstroke film, while other industry industry insiders said a Mr. Freeze movie was in the works at DC.
Now, Gunn, 58, has now admitted some of the rumours “are true”, but has stressed fans shouldn’t “trust anything” until there is official confirmation from himself or studio co-chairman Peter Safran.
In a post to Threads, he wrote: “Some of them are true, some are partially true, and some aren’t true at all.
“If it’s fun for you to follow the unknowns, follow them, but don’t trust anything completely until you hear it from me or Peter.”
While the DC co-CEO said there was some truth behind a few of the rumours, Gunn insisted the supposed Mr. Freeze movie was nothing but hearsay.
He wrote: “It’s not a bad idea, so I wouldn’t say never but no there’s no truth to it at all.”
Currently, Gunn is working on his ‘Superman’ movie, which stars David Corenswet as the Man of Steel and Nicholas Hoult as the hero’s arch-enemy Lex Luthor.
In July, Gunn – who directed the 2025 blockbuster – revealed shooting on the flick had wrapped, and thanked his production team for sharing their “goodness and kindness and love” with him.
In a lengthy Instagram post, he penned: “And that’s a wrap. God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life.
“I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much. And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis on the set has inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It has been an honour.”
Recently, Corenswet opened up about playing Superman, and revealed he didn’t fit into any of his pants since he bulked up for the role.
During an appearance on the ‘Manly Things (Sort Of)’ podcast, the 31-year-old actor explained: “I wasn’t 238 [pounds] when we started shooting. I was 238 at my max.
“It was so awesome, I wanna go back. I put on like one of those crew neck sweatshirts … Champion. And I put on one of those sweatshirts – like an XL or double XL – and I was like, ‘I fill this out. This is amazing’. I didn’t fit into any of my pants.”
