Joker: Folie a Deux director speaks out on possible standalone for Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ director Todd Phillips has hinted there won’t be a Lady Gaga standalone Harley Quinn movie.
The 38-year-old actress is joining Joaquin Phoenix, 49, in the upcoming DC thriller – which is a sequel to 2019’s ‘Joker’ – though the filmmaker, 53, has now suggested the character likely won’t appear in another movie of her own because he views the two flicks “as their own thing”.
He told Variety: “For me, I’ve always thought that these two movies kind of exist as their own thing.
“And, no. I know you’re trying to get the next thing, but I don’t want to go into that.”
In the picture – which hits cinemas on 4 October – Gaga plays the Arkham Asylum music therapist Lee, who falls madly in love with Phoenix’s Joker, who is also known as Arthur Fleck.
The pop star previously revealed she had pulled on her experience in the music industry to create her character.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Gaga explained: “I think that for me, this idea of dual identities was always something that was a part of my music-making.
“I was always creating characters in my music, and when I made Lee for ‘Joker’, she just really had this profound effect on me.
“The film had so much music in it, so much music that I love, and I was able to discover the character through the story, through the music that we did live every day as well as dance and the costumes and the make-up.”
Reflecting on her time making the movie with Phoenix, the ‘House of Gucci’ actress gushed about her co-star and said the pair “laughed a lot” making the “dark” film.
Speaking on the red carpet at the motion picture’s premiere in London last week (25.09.24), she said: “I loved working with Joaquin, it was never a dull day at the office.
“It was always super interesting. He’s very funny all the time, as dark as the world of ‘Joker’ is, we laughed a lot on set, and we were always just being as organic as possible.”

‘It could be so much worse’ This Morning agony aunt Deidre Sanders’ cancer has returned

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘This Morning’ agony aunt Deidre Sanders’ cancer has returned.
The 78-year-old star first told she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, and she now requires a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy, after her returning cancer was discovered during an annual routine mammogram check-up.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ to co-hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, she said: “Unfortunately, I’ve got to have a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy. I feel lucky, it’s been caught early and the treatment is happening very rapidly.”
Despite her cancer returning, Deidre admitted she feels “so lucky” because it has been caught early and it could’ve been “so much worse”.
She said: “This is all on the NHS so I think I am so lucky. It could be so much worse.
“To be honest, the symptoms I had the first time were a coincidence and not actually a symptom of the cancer as it turns out.”
Deidre revealed she hadn’t been feeling “run down” or had any other symptoms, and it was “purely down to having the mammogram” that the alarm was raised.
She explained: “I haven’t had symptoms, I haven’t felt run down.
“I haven’t felt tired. I hadn’t had any discomfort. If I did a self check I couldn’t feel anything because it’s so tiny there is nothing to feel.
“It’s purely down to having the mammogram that showed it.
“And then you get referred back and I had a biopsy, and then it revealed it was cancer.”
The NHS offers mammograms to women over the age of 70, but they are not automatically invited for them.
But those aged between 50 and 70 are invited for breast screening every three years.
Deidre has urged women over 70 to request regular mammograms.

Huge ITV show ‘rested’ by channel for this year

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Real Full Monty’ has been rested.
The ITV show, in which celebrities strip off to raise awareness of cancer, will not be returning this year after the channel decided to shelve it for now.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed: “‘The Real Full Monty’ has taken a number of guises over the past few years from the original men-only line-up, to a version on ice, in order to raise awareness around cancer.
“We are resting the format this year.”
Ashley Banjo has been involved in every version of the show, which started with an all-male version in 2017.
But it’s said to have been increasingly difficult to find stars willing to bare all for the programme.
One source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Getting celebrities to agree to take off all their clothes in front of not only a live audience, but millions more thanks to the cameras, is no small task.
“Even Coleen Nolan, who has been involved for many years, has told how absolutely terrifying she finds it.
“So, the decision has been made to give it a break.
“It does not mean it will never come back, but there are no plans in the pipeline at this point.”
The grand finale of the show sees the stars strip off to bare all.
While the programme has been shelved for now, ITV hasn’t ruled out a possible return in the future.
An insider added to the publication: “We are always open to new ideas for ‘The Real Full Monty’.”
Last year, a festive edition, ‘The Real Full Monty: Jingle Balls’, featured ‘TOWIE’ stars Gemma Collins and Pete Wicks, ‘Dancing on Ice’ professional Vanessa Bauer, and ex-England rugby player Ben Cohen.

Jane McDonald ‘felt sick’ after ‘losing everything’ earlier in her career

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane McDonald “felt sick” after “losing everything” earlier in her career.
The ‘Loose Women’ star has detailed how getting everything back after what looked like a successful career in TV and selling out shows across the world – which led to the breakdown of her marriage to her ex-husband and manager Henrik Brixen in 2002 – has made her a much stronger and resilient person.
She had to move back in with her mother Jean when she was 40, after firing Henrik as her manager.
The 61-year-old television personality told OK! magazine: “I’ve had a few sticky moments, and I’ve taken a lot of risks in my life, but I don’t do fear any more. I’ve been there, I’ve seen it, I’ve done it. I’ve got the T-shirt, I’ve washed it, I’ve dried it – and then I’ve got another. [Back then] I thought, ‘I’ve had a chance at this [career] and it’s gone, but I’ll get it back.’ ”
Jane has had several career highlights, including her 2010 sell-out date at the London Palladium and the BAFTA-winning ‘Cruising With Jane McDonald’ in 2017.
But the star has admitted losing her husband Eddie Rothe in in 2021 and her mother in 2018 were her “lowest” moments.
Jane said: “The two guiding lights in my life were Ed and my mother, and I suppose losing both of them so quickly together was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through.
“But I’ve joined a club of so many people who were in my position. I say to anybody now, ‘Don’t wallow for too long.’ [Grief] takes a while, and it will creep up on you when you least expect it, but if you can chase joy as much as you can, it’s allowed.
“You don’t have to feel guilt if you’re laughing. Because we do. We think, ‘I can’t possibly feel happy because I’ve lost them,’ but we have to live the life that they wanted for us. Otherwise, what was the point?”
The ‘Let The Light in’ author now finds solace in “celebrating” each piece of wisdom she learnt from her mother, and the “fantastic relationship” she had with Ed.
She said: “So I’ve taken every bit of wisdom from my mother – and she had lots of it – and all the love and all that fantastic relationship I had with Ed and I celebrate it now, I take them with me.
“It’s a way of accepting that you cannot change what’s happened, but taking all that with you and moving forward. Not moving on, because that means you’re leaving them behind, but moving forward with them in your heart.”

‘I think the film really holds up’: Demi Moore defends GI Jane

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Moore has defended her controversial movie ‘G.I. Jane’.
The 61-year-old actress starred in the heavily-criticised 1997 flick as Lieutenant Jordan O’Neill, the first woman to join the U.S. Navy, and now Moore believes the motion picture was “killed months before anyone had ever seen it”.
Speaking with Vanity Fair, she said: “I don’t know all the reasons, but maybe it was a combination of becoming the highest paid actress. Which was an amazing thing, not just for me but for all women.”
Moore theorised the poor reception to the Sir Ridley Scott flick – which only grossed $41.1 million on a budget of $50 million – could’ve been in part due to her “betraying women” with her 1996 erotic comedy ‘Striptease’.
She continued: “It seemed as if I had betrayed women for ‘Striptease’ and I was betraying men with ‘G.I. Jane’.
“And I think those two things really became almost like the media drive to go, ‘Well does she really deserve it?’ And maybe it just being ahead of its time.”
The ‘About Last Night’ star felt like she was “targeted and shamed” for her role in the action flick.
She added: “In some ways, I feel like I was targeted and shamed. It kind of blurred it from really being seen just for what it was. They didn’t allow it to kind of stand on its own.”
But Moore believes Scott made “a really thoughtful, intelligent film” that expertly challenged societal gender norms and expectations.
She explained: “I think the film really holds up. I hear it a lot from people. I think that Ridley made a really thoughtful, intelligent film, that really tackled the subject matter.”
While the actress was panned for her performance in the picture, ‘G.I. Jane’ screenwriter David Twohy previously insisted Moore “nailed it”.
He told Yahoo Entertainment: “It’s the performance of her career.
“The movie rises or falls on her performance, and that required her to have a total, unflinching commitment to that part. And she had that commitment – I think she nailed it.”

James Dean biopic based on romance memoir in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — A biopic based on ‘Surviving James Dean’ is in the works.
The movie – which will adapt late author William Bast’s 2006 book, which alleged he had a love affair with the Hollywood icon at the University of California, Los Angeles – will be written and directed by Guy Guido, after the filmmaker acquired the rights to the memoir.
Guido told The Hollywood Reporter: “I have been a fan and historian of James Dean since I was 18 years old, so I knew about his ‘friend’ Willie, even when information about their relationship was straight-washed by the Hollywood machine.
“As a filmmaker, I love telling the story of a celebrity’s life in their coming-of-age period. As a gay man, I was particularly drawn to Bast’s unique story.”
In the book, Bast – who died in 2015 at the age of 84 – claimed he and Dean become roommates, close friends and eventually lovers during their time at the UCLA’s theatre programme when the pair were 19.
The author – who also wrote ‘James Dean: A Biography’ in 1956 – claimed the fling was kept private in an effort to protect the actor’s flourishing Hollywood career, though Bast hoped he could reunite with his supposed forbidden lover one day.
However, the writer’s dream of a relationship with Dean was cruelly taken away from him when the ‘Rebel Without a Cause’ star died in a car accident at the age of 24 in 1955.
Casting on the upcoming film has started, and Guido has stressed he wants to sign an actor who can make audiences “feel as if they are watching the real James Dean on the screen”.
He said: “I am obsessed with getting the look right when it comes to casting and directing a film about a famous person.
“I want people to feel as if they are watching the real James Dean on the screen.”
The ‘Madonna and the Breakfast Club’ director is also searching for a studio to finance the project and feels hopeful he can find the “right team” to collaborate with him on the movie.
He said: “I want to find just the right team to partner with.
“Producers that understand the gravity and importance of a story like this, especially in today’s divided social climate.”

Daniel Day-Lewis making return in son’s movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Day-Lewis is returning to acting in his son’s first movie.
The 67-year-old stat stepped away from the camera after making 2017’s ‘Phantom Thread’, but after he was spotted filming in Manchester, North West England, earlier this week, it has now been confirmed he will be starring in ‘Anemone’, which he co-wrote with his offspring Ronan Day-Lewis, and which the artist will also direct.
According to Deadline, the film examines the relationships between fathers, sons, and brothers, and the dynamics of family bonds, and will also star Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley and Safia Oakley-Green.
Focus Features and Plan B are making the film.
Focus Features Chairman Peter Kujawski said in a statement: “We could not be more excited to partner with a brilliant visual artist in Ronan Day-Lewis on his first feature film alongside Daniel Day-Lewis as his creative collaborator.
“They have written a truly exceptional script, and we look forward to bringing their shared vision to audiences alongside the team at Plan B.”
News of the film comes after MailOnline published photos of the ‘Gangs of New York’ star on set with Sean, in which he was riding a motorbike while wearing an olive green bomber jacket, black trousers, brown boots and black gloves.
He had also donned a white safety helmet and gold glasses and sported a well-groomed beard.
Daniel previously admitted he hadn’t set out to stop acting until he made ‘Phantom Thread’.
He told W magazine in 2017: “[I] didn’t even know I was going to stop acting.
“I do know that Paul (Thomas Anderson, director) and I laughed a lot before we made [‘Phantom Thread’]. And then we stopped laughing because we were both overwhelmed by a sense of sadness.
“Not wanting to see the film is connected to the decision I’ve made to stop working as an actor.
“But it’s not why the sadness came to stay. That happened during the telling of the story, and I don’t really know why.”
Page Six reported in 2018 sources had said Daniel had taken meetings about producing movies.
One insider said: “He is trying to help a friend get a film financed and produced.”

Oti Mabuse broke down in the shower fully clothed during her time on ‘Strictly’

OHMYGOSSIP — Oti Mabuse wasn’t “100% in” her marriage to Marius Iepure because of the pressures of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 34-year-old dancer – who partnered Kelvin Fletcher and Bill Bailey to victory on the Latin and ballroom show in 2019 and 2020 – admitted she couldn’t think of anything but the programme during her seven-year stint and never felt she was “good enough” to be a role model for other black women.
During a conversation on Paul Carrick Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, Oti said: “It is all you think about 24/7. It’s all you do. You’re on tour, you’re doing other Strictly-associated shows. You’re not really 100% in the marriage, because this is gold. The trophy is handmade, by the way, and you’re fixated on it.
“In my head, I felt, ‘I’m not good enough’. I’m not good enough in my job’. All of this pressure that I [had] – I’m representing black women. I’m representing African women. I stand for so much – if I can’t get this job done, I’m not good enough. I don’t deserve to be here’.”
Oti’s husband Marius – who she married in 2014 – stepped in when Oti had broken down in the shower after feeling that the job had taken over her life.
She added: “[Marius] came in, he got in the shower, fully clothed, he picked me up, and he just hugged me and held me. He said, ‘It’s just a job. You have family, you have friends, you have me and you have food’.
“In that moment, I realised that no matter how much I have this career – and I love the show and everything it encompasses – at the end of the day, I get to go home to the things that make me more. It is not who I am, it’s what I do.”
Marius- who appeared on the podcast with Oti and is also a dancer- shared that as someone who is also in the industry, he could support his wife and understood how it felt.
He said: “I’m in that business. I knew what it takes to be a successful dancer and choreographer in a show like that, so it was nothing new. But obviously it’s tough and it hurts and it’s not the easiest time but you see the end of the tunnel.”

KSI excited to join BGT

OHMYGOSSIP — KSI is “so excited” to be a judge on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The social media star is set to sit on the panel for some of the shows auditions due to regular judge Bruno Tonioli’s commitments to ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in America and he can’t wait to see what this year’s hopefuls have to offer.
He said in a statement: “I’m so excited to be a guest judge for ‘BGT’. When I got the call up, I couldn’t believe it. I remember watching old ‘BGT’ episodes and going from being amazed to laughing my a*** off. I’m buzzing to see all the fresh new talent, and I’ll be sure to leave a mark.”
The 31-year-old musician-and-boxer will take a seat alongside Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell for three of the five auditions in Blackpool this month, and producers hope he will tempt some of his millions of fans to tune in when the show is broadcast.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Their new judge doesn’t just know a thing or two about entertaining, he has a colossal following who are largely young and tech savvy, which is just the sort of viewer that the show now thrives on.
“‘BGT’ isn’t just a TV show it’s a global internet phenomenon as well, with clips of the various acts being watched a staggering 24 billion times around the world. Which is why KSI is the perfect match, as his music alone has been streamed 2.7billion times.”
It was revealed four months ago that programme boss Simon was keen to get KSI involved.
A source said at the time: “Simon Cowell knows KSI is a huge hit with the younger generation.
“He would be a great addition to pull in teenage fans, which is something the producers are keen to do.
“KSI is chatting to bosses in the hope of agreeing a deal that would also work with his hectic schedule.”
‘BGT’ typically runs from April to June but filming dates have shifted so that it can be screened earlier in the place of hosts Ant and Dec’s other show, ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’, which came to an end earlier this year.
It was initially suggested Bruno would have to leave the show entirely because of the new filming dates, with Alan Carr tipped to replace him on the panel, but he was later confirmed to be staying.

Liam Hemsworth had an ‘instant connection’ with Laura Dern while filming Lonely Planet

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Hemsworth had an instant connection with Laura Dern while filming ‘Lonely Planet’.
The ‘Hunger Games’ actor can next be seen opposite the ‘Jurassic Park’ star in the upcoming love story, and the 34-year-pld hunk admitted he found it “weird” how easily he hit it off with his 57-year-old co-star from the minute they meto
During an interview with ‘Good Morning America’, Liam said: “The premise and basis of this film is about finding someone who sees you for who you are and supports you and brings out the best in you and that’s something that I felt when I first met Laura.
“I remember having breakfast with her and we were talking about the script and she was already part of [the film] at that time. It was weird. I felt like I’d known her for a lot longer than we had. We just had an instant connection and doing this film was really easy with her because we were on the same page about a lot of stuff.”
‘Lonely Planet’ will be available to stream on Netflix from next Friday (11.10.24) and it has been directed and written by Susannah Grant, who also directed the 2006 film ‘Catch and Release.’
On Netflix, the synopsis for ‘Lonely Planet’ reads: “At an idyllic writers retreat in Morocco, a newly single novelist finds an unexpected connection with a younger man who’s reevaluating his life choices.”
Meanwhile, Liam recently admitted he had never seen ‘The Witcher’ nor read the books it is based on before taking over from Henry Cavill as ‘Geralt’, though he has played the video game, which he hailed as “one of the best of all time”.
He told ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’: “I hadn’t seen the TV show. And I hadn’t read the books. But I played the video game like ten years ago or something. And it’s still to this day one of the best video games of all time. And Netflix came to me almost two years ago now and said that they wanted me to just step in and take over.
“I was really excited by taking on that character because I was a fan of the video game. But I said, you know, let me watch the TV show and have a look at the books and really get stuck into it.”

Peter Ash has put acting career on hold following Coronation Street exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Ash is taking a break from acting following his ‘Coronation Street’ exit.
The 39-year-old star’s alter ego Paul Foreman recently passed away on the ITV soap following a battle with motor neurone disease (MND) and he is enjoying some time off following the conclusion of the harrowing storyline.
Peter is quoted by the Daily Star’s HotTV column as saying: “I was doing the storyline for a year and a half. It was exhausting emotionally and physically.
“So now I’ve left the show, I’m enjoying some lie-ins. I’m enjoying a bit of time off. I’m not thinking about what comes next year.”
Peter has won a number of awards for his portrayal of Paul in the tragic storyline and is planning to begin his search for more roles in 2025 once he has starred in panto in Oldham over Christmas.
The former ‘Footballers’ Wives’ star said: “I’d like to do a bit of everything.

Stacey Solomon not returning to Channel 4 series Renovation Rescue

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Solomon has quit the Channel 4 show ‘Renovation Rescue’.
The 34-year-old star will not be returning for a new run of the DIY series, even though it is made by the Hello Sunshine production company fronted by Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon, as she wants to focus on her BBC programme ‘Sort Your Life Out’ following its triumph at the National Television Awards (NTAs) last month.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV biz column: “Stacey had a great time making ‘Renovation Rescue’ but the fact she isn’t doing a second series allows her to focus on her projects with the Beeb.
“They’ve been a huge success and the NTA win is evidence that the viewing public love what she does.”
Whilst the ‘Loose Women’ panellist is leaving a Channel 4 show, the network has commissioned a new series that will be hosted by her husband Joe Swash.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor will present the six-part series ‘Buy It, Batch It, Cook It’ alongside food author and social media star Suzanne Mulholland – who is also known as The Batch Lady.
The pair will meet families in need of advice on how to make their food budgets go further as well as cutting down time spent on preparing dishes, with the pair recommending batch cooking that will reduce meal prep times to just an hour per week.
Joe, 42, said: “Suzanne and I are hoping to give households the tools to not just save the pennies and the pounds, but also have more time to spend on being together as a family.”

Pregnant Charlotte Crosby has a hankering for ‘gourmet Southern Fried Chicken’

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Crosby has been craving “gourmet Southern Fried chicken” during her second pregnancy.
The ex ‘Geordie Shore’ star has got a hankering for real food this time after being desperate for “ice” when she was expecting her first child, 23-month-old daughter Alba, with her fiance Jake Ankers.
The 34-year-old television personality told the UK edition of Closer magazine: “With Alba, it was ice – ice pops, ice lollies, just biting ice, getting a cup of ice and just eating it. This time, it’s gourmet Southern Fried Chicken.”
Charlotte isn’t concerned about doubling the number of little ones in her house as she thinks “it’s going to be a walk in the park” as none of the horror stories that she was told before having Alba proved to be accurate.
She said: “This is gonna sound so crazy, but I think it’s going to be a walk in the park. The amount of things I had said to me before I had Alba. ‘Oh, make sure you get your sleep in’, ‘Oh, it’s so hard’, ‘You won’t be able to travel’ – all of that was so wrong. It was so easy, and we travel all around the world with her.
“I just take everything in my stride. It takes a lot to get me stressed out, a lot. I don’t think that this is going to faze us.”
The ‘Charlotte in Sunderland’ star explained that she will not be cutting back on her work commitments until her kids start school.
Charlotte said: “If I have a child, they’ve got to fit into my life, I can’t just fit into theirs. I’m not going to change my whole life because I’ve got children – until, obviously, they have to go to school, and we’ve got to be permanently in one place.
“The only time I’ve ever struggled with all of the different work things was when I first had Alba. When you’re postpartum, you have all these different emotions. Your body’s going through such a huge change, and you’ve got a new baby. It was quite overwhelming. But honestly, I slipped back into it so easily.”

Jess Wright froze her embryos so she has the option of extending her family

OHMYGOSSIP — Jess Wright froze her embryos to give herself the chance to have more children.
The former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star – who already has a two-year-old son, Presley, with her husband William Lee Kemp – revealed that she made steps to ensure the best chance of extending their family before she tied the knot back in 2021 – even though her mother Carol gave birth to her sister Natalya at the age of 40.
Jess told New! magazine: “She did, and she had her naturally as well. I think for me it’s exactly that, and I’m 39 now, so at the minute I’m OK – there’s still time. And William and I have had our embryos frozen, which we did before we got married.”
Jess explained that that she froze her embryos “just in case” as her mother entered the menopause at an early age and she didn’t want to be left without the option of expanding her brood.
She said: “I think, because my mum went through the menopause very early, which is my concern, we froze our embryos just in case, and before the wedding.”
Even though she has taken steps to have more children in the future, Jess admits that she “honestly” has no clue about whether she even wants to have another kid.
She said: “You know what? I honestly don’t know. I get asked that every day, and I don’t know. At the minute, I can say I’m happy as we are.”
The reality star also described her son as a “handful” but “hilarious” at the same time.
Jess said: “Oh, he’s two now, and he’s such a handful, let me tell you. He’s hilarious, funny, crazy and lively. He’s a typical little boy, really. He’s completely adorable, and I’m utterly obsessed with him.”

DC Studios announces Dynamic Duo movie starring two Robins

OHMYGOSSIP — DC Studios has announced the animated movie ‘Dynamic Duo’.
The upcoming flick will follow the early days of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd – two iterations of Batman’s famed sidekick Robin – and is being produced by the new animation studio Swaybox.
Directed by Arthur Mintz and written by Matthew Aldrich, the picture will see the filmmaker’s wife Theresa Andersson produce alongside ‘The Batman’ helmer Matt Reeves, though the project won’t be connected to his superhero universe.
Reeves told Deadline: “I have wanted to make a film with Arthur and Swaybox for many years, and for that film to be ‘Dynamic Duo’, an incredibly special and unique Batman and Robin story for families, is a dream.”
Swaybox said it would be utilising “Momo animation”, which has been described as a mixture of CGI animation, practical stop-motion and live-action performances on the flick.
DC Studios co-chairman James Gunn took to Threads to announce the upcoming film.
He penned: “Over the moon excited to announce the newest DC Studios/Warner Bros Pictures Animation greenlit film for theaters, ‘Dynamic Duo’, the story of Robin … or should I say, Robins, as in Dick Grayson and Jason Todd.”
Gunn then heaped praise onto Aldrich’s “magnificent script” that made it easy for him and DC co-chairman Peter Safran to approve the project.
In a follow-up post, he wrote: “I couldn’t be more wowed by what Swaybox is doing. That plus Matthew’s magnificent script made this an easy LET’S GO.”
While the movie has a director, writer and producer, there has been no announcement of the cast or a possible release date.
This comes after Gunn commented on the recent rumours about the studio’s upcoming pictures – including a Bane and Deathstroke flick and a Mr. Freeze standalone – and insisted fans shouldn’t “trust anything” until DC’s projects are officially revealed by himself or Safran.
He wrote on Threads: “Some of them are true, some are partially true, and some aren’t true at all.
“If it’s fun for you to follow the unknowns, follow them, but don’t trust anything completely until you hear it from me or Peter.”

Giancarlo Esposito: The Mandalorian and Grogu could be the start of a trilogy

OHMYGOSSIP — Giancarlo Esposito has hinted that ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ could be the start of a trilogy.
The 66-year-old actor played the villainous Moff Gideon in the hit ‘Star Wars’ show ‘The Mandalorian’, and with the Disney+ series now due to be followed by a feature film, Esposito has teased that writers Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau may take inspiration from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) by developing future sequels.
During a recent appearance at Dragon Con, the actor said: “As in the MCU, Disney will figure out how to join all of these characters into one really great movie or TV show. That’s my sense of where it will go.
“Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have a new vision, continuing on with a ‘Mandalorian’ movie. My sense is that it’s all going to converge at one point or another and we’re going to have another set of… [a] trilogy, or more, of films.”
Esposito – who starred in the series opposite Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff and the late Carl Weathers – was last seen as Moff Gideon in the third season’s finale where the Imperial met his fiery fate, although ‘The Boys’ actor thinks his alter ego could still be alive.
He explained to attendees at the Mega Con Orlando in February: “So what you put out is what you receive, and I believe your mind can control a lot of your circumstances.
“And no matter what your circumstance is, you can overcome much of that circumstance if you’re in the right mindset. I am not gonna die, so, therefore, Moff Gideon is not dead!”
Esposito will next be seen in the Marvel blockbuster ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, where he will star opposite Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford as the villain Sidewinder.
The ‘Breaking Bad’ star had previously said he viewed his debut in the MCU as “the next step” in his career.
